Dirt is usually something unclean, especially when it’s in contact with a person's clothes, skin, or possessions and almost nobody wants to be seen with dirt on their cloths, or you run the risk of being called dirty. Now consider this: when we are covered with sin, we are dirty. Even if we don’t want to admit it. So what do we do about this? After all it’s Lent, a time of reflection and repentance, right?
