(00:04):
What's up? Welcome back.
This is the Balaban podcast. My name is Sean.
I'm your DM. I really want to.
Help you actually hear. That OK, Eddie, it comes to be
very. Clear.
Thank you. Welcome back to Balaban Podcast.
I'm Sean. Say hi, everybody.
Hi. Hi.

(00:26):
I'm Sean. I've run this.
That's crazy. The ultra God of the universe.
Yeah, that's just the guy. I'm going to do one of those
like self character inserts eventually.
What if we killed God? I would not like that.
He's above God. We could kill all the gods and.
See, you can't actually kill God.

(00:47):
You just trade places and then you have to be.
If I just grab a knife right nowand start walking that way.
And you would have to be the Godafter that.
No more. No more taxes.
That's you. That's what you're worried
about? Who wants to talk about what

(01:07):
happened last time? Does anyone want to give me some
run? Whoever gives me rundown, you
can have some inspiration. How's that sound?
Do I know what happened last time?
I don't have my notes in front of me.
I need to run and get my iPad. I have my notes.
If you can do it, we're. Talking back, you get the
inspiration at it. Navigating at.
The the logging camp, right? And then people were going

(01:29):
missing, including that one kid.Who was the nephew?
Nephew. This is This is.
Great, this is better than the inspiration point.
And then we found this big bug thing and then it.
Kind of found you it kind. Of found nice.

(01:49):
We went underground and fought those things and then all a
couple people died. We almost.
Died. I didn't.
Tom almost drowned in ground again.
Yeah. Almost drowned in ground and we
got out. Wonderful inspiration to storm.

(02:12):
That's just for the. Session.
Is that worth? Inspiration.
That is. What happens?
I just didn't want to talk aboutit.
I think my favorite part where everyone was singing and having
a good meal and it was beautiful.
And then someone died. Yeah.
Also there was the really sad the funeral stuff happened.
You learned about the lore with the fuck me?

(02:34):
The lore. With the Alps and that was like,
that was all. Of that the same session.
It was That was a long session because we were.
Yeah, there were like tree elves, Elvin trees.
They were blighted. Yeah, they're.
Blighted. Yeah.
So they're turning into they gotblighted.
They're. Tree Zombie.
Elves Manga. And they're.

(02:55):
No longer people. This is brought to you by
anyways. We'll pan it basically when we
left off you got he was having the funeral for his brother,
essentially. It was in the wee morning hours,
like the sun was just starting to come up.
You guys are are hovering over him as he talks about his
deceased brother and and they'reand you know, there are
misadventures, adventures, falling out, falling in, having

(03:17):
the business given to them from their their dad.
I remember that. And we'll just pan into that
where essentially you guys are loading up the wagon.
Stumpy's getting in the wagon with all the trees that you guys
had loaded up yesterday. And you guys are pushing off
onto the road with Stumpy driving the wagon out.

(03:37):
And your end of the the camp is fading in the early morning
light behind you as he stands over the bodies of his brother
and his nephew. And he's slowly getting smaller
and smaller and smaller as you guys are in this wagon on your
way to River Run. It's early morning.
There's mist still on the grass. The sun is just peeking above
the horizon. The birds are just starting to

(03:57):
chirp. And it's a new day.
So he's going to be all right, right.
We we definitely should leave him alone and with his own
plots. It's not for us to know.
I don't. Think he's going to be OK?
That's. Fine.
Did we rest? I will count it that you guys
did get a long rest. I know you guys woken up halfway
through, but I feel like that'd be unfair.
So yeah, I'll give. You a long rest before the

(04:20):
combat. Well, you got you got a rest
after that. Fuck, you somehow got some rest.
You have enough rest, right? I took 4 hour naps.
It's like, it's like how I live my life where I take like a 30
minute nap and then I I do something for like a couple.
Intermittent sleeping. It's like a thing.
That yeah, apparently it's really hard to get a customer.

(04:41):
I've just done it my home. I'm feeling kind of better than
everybody. That's horrible.
Anyway, we heal up long rest. Yep, you're a full hit point.
You have all your smells back. It's a new day.
It's beautiful. It's fresh dawn.
It's a new day. And yeah, you're on this wagon.
It's going and then making wagonsounds insert wagon thumbs.

(05:07):
Every time I say insert wagon insert sounds believe I does
sound, but it's really just for me to insert them later.
But I always bet your sounds happen 1st and then I insert
sounds out to work. It's just bad.
It's just so bad. That's a wagon sound like like
wagon, wagon, wagon. Pokémon rolls.
Is it a fucking Pokémon? Says like, censor that so so

(05:31):
it's like we're going to copy, copy.
Right, yeah, you guys are in this wagon and and Cara asks you
is is is it going to be OK? And Lynn says, well, it's not
for us to. Know.
It's not for us to know. And that's where we're at.
That's what the first word spoken on this wagon ride.

(05:51):
Stumpy turns back. He said, I'm not really much of
A morning person. So if I fall asleep on the ride,
just keep the horse straight. You'll see the road as he's
driving the horse on the wagon and he goes should be about a
couple hour drive into River Run.

(06:13):
So that's that's the plan. You you know you're going to be
on this wagon for a couple hours.
So if you want to take this timeto talk to each other, talk
about anything, now would be thetime to do that.
While you are slowly making yourway, you see Stumpy pulling it
goes from like a forest because you're going out of the end of
the forest and he starts fallingthe river and the river's
massive and loud. You can hear it from a while

(06:34):
away and you see you start to see this scraggly patches of of
like well worn, you know, lawn or grass start to turn into
almost a road. And then about 1/2 an hour down
turns into a large cobblestone Rd., like an obvious easy Rd.
that you can clearly see has been there for a very long time

(06:55):
and it it's following the river straight to the whatever
direction that is east. Looking at the map that.
Looks like East to me. Oh yeah, we got a map.
Check it out. What about?
Is that a valid direction? Is the concept.
Yeah, heat is the concept of direction.
It's. Like a class?
We determined that last time. You will know you're going.

(07:18):
That's very. Philosophical.
What are you eating? How's that?
It's morning. You guys haven't eaten yet?
I mean. Ron.
Ron bolts out like questionable looking jerky, like it's
obviously been there for like a while.

(07:39):
It just kind of blows off like abit of dust, you know?
Where do you keep that? Jerky pocket.
Show me where the jerky pocket is.
And I opened my satchel and it'sjust a pocket that has a good
amount of jerky in there, you know?
Is there anything else in that lap?

(08:01):
It's different, you know, a couple different jerkies.
There's no like weapons thrown in there either, it's just
jerky. Specifically, the jerky pocket.
I don't know if you got, you know, if it's only jerky pocket,
well, I don't want to. Mine's got Roxanne berries
there, you know. How would you actually get what
you pull up? Because I'm reaching for jerky
and it happens to be in the jerky pocket.

(08:24):
Did jerky pocket have a flap or is it just open to the bag like
a? Button this is going to be a 20.
Minute conversation on the jerkypocket.
This is the episode, guys. Fuck it.
The episode's title is Jerky Pocket Irons Jerky Pocket.
We might get bad for that, honestly.
That would definitely get us taken off of Apple's Like Music
listings. But do you care for some jerky?

(08:51):
No. Is it all different like colors
like is? Is it clearly from the same
animal or is it like different jerkies?
It's different jerkies, you know, it's like, it's like, you
know. What's the quality of
preparation? Well, would you like some
Griffin jerky? Like I I pull out a mix of
acorns and berries that I will eat.

(09:15):
Acorns unshelled. Unshelled.
I'm going to I'm going to pull out significantly less
suspicious looking jerky the. War of jerky has begun.
I'm good, I'm good. I'm good, I'm good.
Stumpy turns back and goes, well, if no one else is having

(09:37):
any, and he grabs some of Ron Ron's Turkey and starts eating
it. He goes, oh, it's got, it's got
some smoky flavour. Yes, I'm going to have him.
Hey, dwarves have resistance against poison.
That's fair. That's fair.
If this was regular D&D, he died.

(10:00):
He he cops a little bit and he kind of looks at it and he like
throws it. Off to the side.
Yeah, yeah, that was the extra smoky, smoky jerky it was.
I want my. Character to live all the way to
20, retire and make a jerky shop.

(10:21):
Oh my God, that was an exciting.Jerky Shop.
I know I got someone who goes. Only in pockets, pouches.
Just just only in pouches. Yeah, you guys are are riding
along and and the IT is a road now.
It's nice. It's making, I don't know if you
ever heard like wheels over cobblestone, but it's making
that sound. It's not an.

(10:44):
Excuse for you to have. To do it by body looked at.
Me like, like I need to make a wagon zone, right?
Now this is a comedy episode. This is a filler episode.
For sure that's. OK, yeah, we all needed it
though. So you're, yeah, I guess you're
just, you're in this, in this wagon for a fucking.
While. And eventually as you're going

(11:06):
down the, the, you know, the road, you start to pass other
wagons going past you. It seems just like normal travel
and there's more and more wagonsin front of you.
There's people walking on the side of the road.
And as you get further and further down, it's been like an
hour, hour and a half, you startto see on like the, you know,
coming up are some, some fields and what looks to be crops and

(11:28):
farms and houses on those farms and, and berries and corn and
all sorts of manner of, of interesting crops growing in
these fields. Hello.
Hello. I would like to put on a cloak
hood. I don't wanna I've I've.
I keep attracting attention. That cloak.
Did you You've never mentioned it before.
You guys have a cloak? Well, I've been covering myself

(11:51):
somehow, haven't I? Haven't you?
Yeah, haven't you? I I think it's.
I don't get it. Part of my traveller's clothes
like includes headscarf. All right, that's fair.
Yeah, you throw on a headscarf. Something, yeah, doesn't have to
be like Cape. Do you do it really obviously or
is it like a just like a do you?Just like put on.

(12:12):
A It's like getting drunk. Yeah, I'm just like, just, you
know, I don't feel like I have ever announced my actions very
well. So just, you know, digs in bag,
puts on headscarf, just kind of,yeah.
Glows slightly less. Is it wrapped kind of like a
mummy or is it like? Properly put on like like just
over and kind of very poorly wrapped the the wind of the

(12:35):
wagons. You know, I'm constantly having
to like, 'cause I don't don't know what mirrors are, you know,
trying to trying to keep it on doing great.
You're. Trying.
Yeah, preoccupied. Can I observe are are there
people in the in these fields? Yeah, yeah, there's different
people in the fields. What kind of people?

(12:59):
OK, Lim Lim's taking a dark turnthis week.
I need to know I. Sleep on valor bound Lim becomes
a little bit more Hitler. You just, you got to know what
kind of city you're going into for.

(13:19):
So from, I mean, you're still quite a distance away, but just
looking around, I mean, it just looks like a whole mix of races.
There's clearly some Bay folk, there's clearly some humans.
You might even see a tea fling on the distance.
Just a whole mix of people. OK, OK.
Dwarf in one field, a dwarf in acart that's passing by, they
stumpy, waves of the dwarf, dwarf waves back at stumpy, but

(13:41):
doesn't look at any of the rest of you.
So yeah, just looks like from what you can tell from the
distance you're at, it's quite amix of diversity of people.
Car has waved it every cart thatwe've passed.
Pretty much you're getting, I know you ever seen the biker,
but one of the carts that goes past, there's a bunch of

(14:03):
children that giggle excitedly at you and jump up and down.
Ron Ron throws up a gang sign. He doesn't really, actually.
Do this. He doesn't really know too many
gang signs. OK, well give me, I don't know,
give me a knowledge of your choice to see if you know any
gang signs, OK? What the hell kind of gangs are

(14:24):
you aware of? Not gangs in the mountains.
Mountain. Peak.
No, yeah, no. Give me a knowledge history.
Give me a knowledge history. Check if you a fucking history
is pretty high, actually. There you go. 12 all together.
So yeah, you threw up what in inbecause because you were in a

(14:44):
small town called Coalville whenthe when your back story
flashback happened in Coalville, there was a run-of-the-mill gang
up there called the Miners not. Not because they're.
Children because they literally are in a fucking mining town.
Your goddamn miners are gutter. Nobody said miners.
And you gotta make like a. You make like a an M with your

(15:05):
your hands and a passing cart and the the the halfling that's
driving the cart like looks at you horrified and his cart like
goes. Up.
The road into the field a littlebit and goes around and Stumpy
looks back at you and smacks your hand and says hey, knock it
off, you don't do that, especially in River Run.

(15:29):
He turns back. What the fuck, dude?
Stumpy, could you give us a little more explanation?
He was just making a weird shapewith his hands.
Have you ever seen gang signs? This car, this car I'm.
Just. Curious.
You definitely knew it was gang signs for sure.
You're you're a terrible, you know, that was gang signs and

(15:52):
you know that Stumpy just says. He keeps looking for it.
He does not look back and he drives his horse and he he just
look. He just like kind of says gangs
aren't allowed in River Run. They've been completely
eradicated. At least as far as they know.
No, the mayor is very, very diligent.

(16:13):
There is no thiefs in River Run.There's only two things I'm
certain of. I miss my foot and there's no
gangs in River Run. Do you think?
They're going to let me in there.
Don't advertise. If you stop talking.
They'll let you in. Hell, if you stop talking, I

(16:35):
might actually stay around you. I'm.
Like slumped down a little bit into the wagon.
Like pull my hood up over my head and try to look in better.
Not better. Does anybody else have any
criminal or gang affiliation they'd like to broadcast before
we enter a new town? No organization.

(16:58):
I've I'm going to go sit with Stumpy.
Are we a gang? We could be.
I don't think we are. I mean I.
Feel like that requires something that we don't have.
What's the Ascot? Courtney.
Mascot. Doing a party in a gang?
Exactly. Or mascot.

(17:20):
The amount of Geneva Conventionsyou violate.
Well, you don't. You don't throw a birthday,
gang. Conventions you have.
Y'all said my dead name a littletoo much, sorry.
My bad actually. It.
Doesn't exist here, so you're well.
You're right, you're right. Your.
Name not real. At that point when you go up and

(17:42):
move to the front of the the cart, you start to notice over
the horizon there's a Crest and you start to begin to see what
looks to be a very large city. I don't know how familiar all of
you are with with capital cities.
I know that you 2 we're in AlderRey, which is the Elvin capital
city. This is probably a little

(18:04):
smaller than Alder Rey, but it'sstill a very, very large city in
in the, in a world like Kalos settlements are roughly 1000
people. Maybe like like larger towns are
roughly 1000 people. This looks like it could easily
fit up to 20,000 people in this town that this city that's
cresting above the horizon. You've probably never seen

(18:24):
anything like this on this planeof existence.
If you've seen it somewhere else, let me know.
You've been to a couple cities. This is probably about the same
size or bigger than of some cities that you've seen in the
past, and I don't know about youat all, so probably never seen a
city honestly. Just saying you isn't helpful
for podcast listeners. Zach.
Cara has seen some large cities. This is probably a little bit

(18:46):
larger than most of the other ones that she's seen, yeah.
I get looked at too much. Wow, what is that?
I've missed being in the city. Civilization.
That's what it is, Civilization.Civilization, that is a place
where many, many people live allthe same time.
People take baths. Sometimes.

(19:10):
Sometimes. Not all of us stuff, he says.
He wins somewhere. Things got tough back in Alder
Rays sometimes. How far is Alderay from here?
Too. Far all the way in that.
Corner far as fuck boy Alderay. Is on an entirely different
continent. Yeah.

(19:31):
Than river run. So if you're if you're by the
way, we're a video podcast. So if you want to see you can,
you can look at the maps on the screen right now.
Well, here I'll even change. It you can see.
Right. Maybe it's.
Just nothing. Where's the map?
Fucking game sign. That was weirdly, yeah.
I didn't tell anyone anything about this town, so OK, well,

(19:53):
apparently it doesn't work, so never mind.
But anyways, you're it's on a completely separate continent.
The only way that they both got here was via telepication
circle. So it's very far away.
It's basically another world away, if you had to be honest.
Aaron related as such, how did? They build that.

(20:16):
Say again. How?
How do you build something that big?
And as you're drawing closer, you, you are noticing that there
is large walls, guard towers, like very large, large walls,
guard towers. You're starting to see them, You
know, 'cause it was, it was on the horizon.
Now it's getting closer. You can see the scale of the
city. I think it's the first time I've
ever seen something like that. So you asked that question.

(20:39):
There's a lot of different ways to build a city, but really it's
just a bunch of people pushed really close together, you know?
So they make the buildings a little taller and they make the
roads a little stricter, but it's still kind of the same.
Takes a long time to build. One of these many years.

(21:01):
If anyone wants, they can make ahistory check about River Run to
see if you know anything too. You're more than welcome.
It takes a long time to build a star or two.
Yeah, I would assume so. It's an 11.
An 11 You have heard of river Run.
You know that there's an old saying about River Run that all
roads leave the River Run. Basically it's it's implying

(21:25):
that if you're looking for any kind of work or food or shelter,
River Run is a easy place to getto.
It's in the center of the continent, so.
I got a nine. First, same thing.
It's it's general knowledge thatall all roads lead the river
run, and you're on a road that'sleading the river runs as far as
you know. That is very true.

(21:46):
All roads lead to Bossington. There is no war in Bossington.
Not. Yet I am the war.
Oh. God.
But yeah, you're, you're gettingcloser.
You're getting closer. Storm, you have the high speed
set. Sorry, not storm licks has the
highest perception. Right, lost the name tag.
Yeah, the name tags are gone. It's been 3 weeks.
Lost the table. Too.

(22:07):
It's all good licks. You have the highest passive
perception, almost like a a trigger in your head.
You start to notice a smell thatyou've been smelling quite
frequently recently. It smells like smoke do.
You guys smell that? I think.
I smell my smoky jerky just to be sure that it's not that and

(22:31):
scanning. The the farms that are coming
up, you notice one of the housesin the distance, it looks like
there's just embers left of whatused to be a house.
And the field that that house ison has clearly been raised as
well. I think, I think a house over
there burned down. I I would agree that's not

(22:54):
something you usually see this close to a city.
Stubby says. I told you there's no gangs in
River Run, that's why, because. They.
Burned down a house. I'd like to look around at like
the people and see if anybody else is like looking at it or if

(23:15):
they're all sort of avoiding. There are no gangs.
In River Run, there are no gangsin River Run.
That would be a four. Yeah, I mean, it's pretty
obvious. No one's avoiding it.
They they just don't seem to mind.
Like it's normal for. Them like it's normal.
OK, OK. They just erase them off the

(23:37):
map. Best not to make a scene.
Who's got the compass? Well.
I think that's me and I pull outthe compass.
It's. Spawning.
Spawning. Spawning bro it.
Does. It doesn't even point to yet.

(23:58):
Or is it for the Yeats? What?
Were you saying? Does anyone remember who we're
taking this to specifically? To the mayor, the brother of the
captain. The captain, yeah.
Close, close, but not quite the The brother of the captain owns

(24:21):
a inn bar in River Run, and he knows the mayor.
Of that's right. OK, Yeah, I knew.
I just didn't have my notes. I didn't want to have to correct
you. There's no inspiration for you,
you know. Unfortunately, we didn't get a
name. Yeah, I don't think I ever gave
him a name. Episode 2.
Yeah, I think I I in episode 2, I was like, oh, I never gave the

(24:42):
captain a name. And I just didn't after that.
We didn't get it. Fuck it.
He didn't have. He died.
Really. Quick never said it.
Spoilers. But we're like, sure, I'll go to
some random ass, why not? What else are we doing?
So. Should we start looking?
Did we get a name for this in? And Stumpy over here, so he goes

(25:03):
in. There's only two Inns in River
Run. Which one's owned by a dwarf?
The Confluence. That's where we're going.
Oh, you'll love the Confluence. It's Immaculate.
Well, I already said it's owned by a dwarf, didn't I?
Maybe we can get a room there. Maybe we.
Can. Love it for stumpy writing that.

(25:27):
To be. Killed later, yeah.
When you finally get attached tostuffy, I'm going to kill a
most. Terrific.
Now they I, you guys, you guys are just drawing nearer to a
city. And if if there's nothing else
to say, it just keeps. Getting.
Any sort of guard or gate work? Yeah, as you drive closer,
there's obviously a large gate with manned guards.

(25:51):
There's a tower with guards on top there's do you have guards
walking around inside even see past the gate there's guards in
there. It looks like a pretty well
staffed setup. The insignias identify them as
Dawn Spire, so OK. OK, so this is a dawn Spire
occupied Sydney. Yep, if you want to give me a
role I can give you more knowledge on that too.

(26:12):
Yeah, Yeah. I'd like to know.
That would be I think. Let's check my history.
It's a 15 base. That's yeah, you would know that
all capital cities are controlled by the downspire, OK?
They are the occupying force of the world, basically the only
thing keeping chaos from that's their that's their mantra,
basically. Like they're rebuilding society.

(26:33):
They're the only things that areholding the world together right
now. OK, but all occupy all capital
cities are controlled by the downspire.
Stumpy, Are there any other things we should be aware of as
we go into River Run? We don't want to get into any

(26:55):
trouble while we're here, of course.
I assume you've been to capital cities before?
Just keep your head down, don't do crime.
I looked. At Are you sure you've been to a
capital city before? Stay out of.

(27:17):
That I like the woods, but yeah, basically just, you know, it's a
capital city, there's it has a mayor, it's an agarian society,
he says. So it's like a farmer society,
you know, it's basically run by trade and and crops essentially
River Run basically provides allthe the food for the entire

(27:40):
world. Essentially, pretty much all the
food in the world is grown in River Run.
It's one of the only farming places left.
OK. And you can see that as he, as
he says that you can, you look around and there's, I mean,
endless fields spanning the horizon all around this what you
can see the city so and it's flat and, you know, great
farmland. Near a river, Must be on a

(28:02):
footplate. Thank you, Stumpy, and thank you
very much for this ride. We've appreciated your
assistance with this. I mean, you guys did your part.
It's unfortunate what happened. That it is.
But you held up your end of the deal and we'll hold up ours, so

(28:22):
I'm going to be going to the market, he says as you guys
start to pass through the gate. And he's like, I have to unload
the wood at our stand. If you'd like to join me there
later, you're more than welcome.Otherwise, it's been an honor
and a pleasure, and I hope to see you soon.
We'll be in touch. Maybe come to the confluence
later and get a drink. We'll be in touch.

(28:46):
What direction do we need to head to the get to the
confluence? So here we go.
Let's pull up that map now. Woo Hoo.
I do want. To multiple maps.
This is yeah, multiple maps. So I do want to say in the intro
to this podcast, I did say that I am on the side of artist
versus AI and I agree with that.So I would like to give credit

(29:08):
to this map to the random guy inReddit that made it.
This is this is totally rough. So for capital cities, I was
like, I really want to get into my capital cities and like
design a map. I was just perusing Reddit and I
found this map and it was literally like shot for shot
exactly what I had in my head about the city that I was
making. So like I just changed a couple
things. I don't remember the dude's
name, but his city was called Veilshire.

(29:30):
So thanks, Veilshire guy. Thank you, Bail Shire guy.
I'll. Pull that up really quick.
So welcome to River. Run.
Oh my. God, it's it's a lot better when
you zoom in, but obviously it's pretty big.
So you guys are coming in on that side.
We're on Tom's side of the table, OK?
That way that's. The gate you're coming through,

(29:50):
so you're coming in on that side.
He's going to the marketplace, which is where's my pain?
In the center. Yeah, the marketplace is in the
center. That's where he will.
Be the central marketplace. Right there and he.
Tells it. Yeah, that's it.
And he tells you that the confluence is by the bridge over
the Dryad River, which is over here.

(30:11):
And you know this, you're going through the city.
This is your first look at the city.
It's incredibly well laid out. There's rows of housing and
shops and you do notice as you go through this gate right here
to the the left of the gate, it is partially collapsed and looks
like there's burn marks all overthis side of the wall.
Some of these buildings over here are decrepit.

(30:32):
They look like they've been abandoned for some time, while
the buildings over here are newer and nicer and it kind of
there's there's other spots as you're going further into the
city that look like that. But you do see in the decrepit
spots over here that there are some dance bar people starting
to clean up some rubble, move stuff around and it looks like
they're working on it. So do you do you disembark from

(30:54):
Stumpy or are you gonna what would you guys like to do?
I don't know about the rest of you, but all this traveling has
really drained my ration supply for any more travel.
Before we potentially get waylaid and busy.
We would like to buy some more food before we don't have a
chance to do so. Anymore.

(31:14):
And it's it's obviously like a really bustling city too.
It's people back and forth, people carrying things like it
just looks like there's a lot oftrade going on in the city.
So you do know that the best place would probably be the?
Market. They're a cabbage cart.
There's a lot of carts in the middle of the market.
Like the market's kind of like. A boxing say the market's kind
of like. A general supply hub.
You can get pretty much anythingyou want there.

(31:35):
There are some specialty stores around the the market though as
well. So if you're looking for
anything, anything in particularor something else, but but if
you're looking for general supplies, the market would
definitely be the the best bet like.
Cabbages you will. Have none of your I.
Was just budding and I, we have limited time today.
All right, Yeah. Sorry to go to the.

(31:57):
I think it's it may be more practical to establish our
contacts, our touch points, somewhere to gather.
And we are meeting with somebodywho owns an inn.
Perhaps we would be able to get an inn with him before we start

(32:20):
getting separated in the city. We at least know where to find
one another. That makes sense to me.
I. Think that's a good point.
Where are we going again? The conflict in.
Right I over by the bridge, bleed the way.
So. You're look around and see if I

(32:41):
can see a bridge. You definitely cannot see a
bridge you there's a lot of people walking past.
You can always stop and ask for directions, but it looks like
the street yarn is the main thoroughfare through this side
of this side of the Ding. If I look to the sky do and
would I be able to see like other winged races flying above

(33:05):
the buildings? Yeah, they're ferries are
relatively uncommon. Most of them went back to the
Fay wild as you know before the the disaster.
So there's there's a couple theylook at.
The ones that you do see, though, are nicely dressed.
OK, just just that it's happening at all.
So I'm I'm gonna fly up and lookfor this bridge, OK, to sort of

(33:25):
guide us. Yeah, you don't even need a
perception check. It is a very large bridge
obviously coming out of the guard gate on the other side to
to the right by the river. So you would see that over there
and you would easily be able to make your way through the
market, which is crazy busy. Like there was so many people
there, like I would say, like Ron Haran and I'm.

(33:48):
Like right? Now EON are just absolutely
astonished. I don't think you guys have ever
seen this amount of people in one area.
The rest of you, you've been in cities.
You would. Is that not one but two jerky
boots? There's multiple jerky boots.
There's a guy actively making jerky in one of the boots.
Yeah. Ron Harg is getting completely
distracted. Like the market has anything

(34:08):
that you would see in like a normal bazaar.
I don't know if you've ever beento like bazaars before, but they
are like, yeah. Well, I can't believe there's a
Jack links at this market, no. Brand names.
It's my family, it's OK now. They know we're never oh.
Fuck. Jackal's linkage.

(34:29):
Jackal. It's Jackal.
Jackal. The reason I'm the DM is because
I work for Lucky Martin. Sorry I had to kill you, but
now? You're.
Walking through it and yeah, it's just like a our is going.
Mark Grab Ron Harron's belt in one hand and Aeon's hand.
So you. Can't stop an 8 foot tall

(34:54):
walking. No, I'm just saying I am
enamoured and walking and you are.
No, this is just to provide you enough like a.
Cartel waiting like a. Π.
Wander on. She's gently leading Ron Harron.
Yeah. It's just so you don't
completely wander off full ADHD.When you see just the littlest
person with the Doberman. That seems like.

(35:16):
I'm sure it's like this every day.
We we can come back. We can come back.
Our slightly like, like they're looking at you like, oh, what
was the bug? And his arm is.
Really shiny, Yeah, and your armis really shiny, so.
Yeah, you're like a fucking billboard.
Yeah. I told you I get a lot of looks.
It's not like, it's not like a bat, like they just die.

(35:36):
They clearly haven't seen a lot of Goliaths.
Like, it's not like they're angry about it.
They just, they're like, oh, wow, what do you see, Like a
610, dude? And you're like, Jesus Christ,
dude, that that guy's a mountain.
Like that's essentially what they're they're doing to you.
They're gawking a little bit. And you're also in bright, shiny
armor. Yeah, yeah.
The shiniest armor anyone ever saw.

(35:57):
Immaculately shiny. Actually, a couple of people
offered to buy it off you in thebizarre you.
Didn't. Want to entertain the the money?
I mean, how much? It's pretty shiny, you.
Know one guy looks at his stash and he goes 16 gold no.

(36:19):
The shine on this? 16 gold and jerky shit.
Making it tempting. Run.
Run. No, it's not worth it.
Oh. Jerky Run, run.
Think about how you never have to.
Yeah, I. Like I like shiny.
That Cara pulls you forever bizarre and you start to make

(36:39):
your way. Goblin Brain says yes, and then
I start speaking. Goblin A.
Little. Bit my character you speak
Goblin I. Do.
Don't. That was actually a question I
was going to ask because I forgot who speaks what languages
really quick. I speak goblin common and.
Yeah. Common.
Common and something else that Ihave not considered.

(37:02):
Okay, well and I need to pick. You should probably pick too
very soon. Like now.
Yeah, Goliath. Elish in common.
I think I only speak common right now and I picked up some
elvish. Picked up some elvish.
Yeah, yeah, All right, cool. That just makes sense.
That actually makes it a lot easier.
All right, So when you start speaking goblins, some people

(37:24):
look like frightened and they'relike hurry past you.
Oh, sorry. I.
Forget that freaks people out sometimes.
Yes, and. Everyone wants to do a history
check again about goblins in this world because.
Sure. I think Cara speaks and reads.
Mostly. Only.
Very low. 4. Four, I mean, you know, you

(37:46):
would know the goblins aren't you know how like in in other in
other DND games, goblins are like a a fucking lesser race
Like they're like, you know, little chaotic beans.
There are like they were like that and then they slowly have
like integrated into society andthere's actually a city where
goblins run it. So so they have their own city.

(38:08):
They're, they're generally acceptable race, but the, the
language still just quite isn't there for most people.
They're, they're just still likegoblins, you know.
And as you walk out of the market, because I assume you
guys walk through the market andyou kind of make a mental note
of where some stalls that you'd like to check out later, which
you can ask me about at some point.
And you start to walk towards the massive bridge.

(38:31):
And as you kind of Crest out of the, the, the street kind of
opens up, you know, to the edge of the city and you see the
confluence, the bridge and a couple other buildings around
there. I have a description of the
confluence somewhere. Let me let me pull her up.
I'll read her to you. Then you can decide what you
like. They boys a sturdy wooden

(38:52):
structure adorned with hand carved motifs of fishing waves.
It exudes A rustic charm and draws weary adventures and and
locals alike. And when you step inside, let me
know if you'd like to step back. It's a very large building as
well. I I gesture for Cara to go

(39:14):
first, I think you'll make the least startling entrance, yeah.
You are the most normal out of all of us.
Most. Normal looking.
I mean I look pretty normal. When you when.
You depends on the day. When you look around, it's an
incredibly diverse city, so I don't think anyone.
Would not your fault? But maybe.
Maybe not. Yeah, well, there's races that
obviously like people don't see a lot or.

(39:36):
If I don't transform in the middle of the room then it's
fine. So are you walking in the
conflict? Yes.
So the door isn't even closed. It's it's just opened and
propped open. It's a very large wooden door.
As you step inside, there's an inviting aroma of meat roasting
and freshly baked bread. There's laughter and and you
know, a general Tavern aesthetics going on.

(39:58):
The Tavern hall is filled with cheerful sounds, laughter, then
clicking tankards. There's a giant fireplace that's
cracking in the distance. There's a long polished oak
table surrounded by mismatched chairs.
There's a couch, there's a smallstage in the corner where a Bard
is is softly picking out a loot,and there's a a long bar with a
white haired dwarf standing behind it polishing a glass.

(40:23):
It's also just full. Of the diverse host of creatures
I'm not going to describe. More meat.
Well, it's probably getting pretty close to noon at this
point. Yeah, it's it's about yeah,
noonish. Grab something to eat.
We should. Look, try and see if we can get
a room here and get some food. I don't know if this is the time

(40:47):
to bring up such sorrowful news.Meat.
I I think conducting business beforehand may leave a sour
taste. You know I.
Agree. Meat.
OK, well I I'm going to approachthe the white haired dwarf.

(41:12):
Well, Matt's flying 1. I don't know why he's talking
like that. That was weird.
That was me. I was just getting into it.
What can I do for you? I'm I'm looking for a warm meal.
Oh. We have those.
And warmer beds. Depending on who's in yours, we
have those too. Well, are these the kind of

(41:35):
ruffians you'd allow into the beds you have here?
He. Looks around and he goes, yeah,
we accept everyone at the confluence.
It's River Run. You're not thieves, are you?
That I'm sorry, that was a joke.I'm not from around here.
Obviously he might not fit in the beds though.
I think that's something that happens to him a lot.

(41:57):
We all have 6 plates of meat andwhatever they want. 6 plates.
Are you ordered 6 plates of meat?
What you are let's. See how much it is first?
Yeah, but make. Sure, you have enough we.
Just got this. Lovely.
Boring and we're doing a specialon it today.
It's 2 gold pieces per. Wait, how much was?

(42:19):
It 2 gold for a place. That's not right.
That feels kind of expensive. Spicy. 3 silver pieces, not bad,
like a a large chunk of meat. You can also get some bread with
that for an extra copper. Could I get that candied for one

(42:40):
more silver piece? I was going to do it for free,
but yeah, if you're giving me extra money.
He looks, he looks back. So the bars, it's like a bar,
but then there's like a, it's got a like a kitchen behind it.
And he can kind of like, look back and be like, you know,
candy the meat. I want to plate with some bread.
Cool. Is that board just like kind of

(43:00):
like rotating? Yeah, yeah.
There's a, there's a fire and it's like, kind of like.
How much for a leg? Of meat, it's for a chunk it's 3
silver, we'll say 1 gold piece feels.
Accurate for an entire leg. Probably three, yeah. 3 servings
worse than a leg. Don't.
Know how much run run needs to eat I?

(43:21):
Think you're going to have to come up with that.
Technically, he doesn't have to eat more than a normal person,
yeah. Hey, I'm not tracking that, that
sounds awful for me, so you can try it if you want.
I'll just take could big ol honkat.
Me all right, cool. Do you have does everyone have
money? OK, because it is.
I'm just going to give you enough like.

(43:42):
Does does Aeon have money? That is.
Yeah, there's. A joke that happened earlier
today at work where we had this exact conversation and I said
the funniest thing idea was likewas like, I have money.
He was like, where the fuck did you get money?
And then we were like going backand forth a minute, I'm like,

(44:04):
what do you have Starbucks? But anyways.
Did you produce gold? Yeah.
What do you, what do you have? You can, you can.
I mean, that's a good question. They all kind of look at you
because you haven't ordered yet.Everyone else has put in their
orders and they subtracted theirmoney from their inventory.
They clanged it on the counter. Probably really cool.
What about you? He said.

(44:24):
What will you be having? Ian's got a handful of coins.
There's probably like a silver and three coppers that come out
of their pocket and they're like, I want the square 1 and I
point at bread because Leon doesn't know what meat is.

(44:44):
Meat sounds scary. Bread is only two capper, but
you wouldn't know that, so he looks at your.
He's holding hand. He takes it from your hand and
he like takes the proper amount out and hands you back to your
change and kind of gives you a little like.
Like holding it like wow. And within a matter of a couple
minutes, there's there's food onthe on the bar for you guys, a

(45:08):
nice warm meal in some cases, bread is buttered.
It's got a soft cinnamon aroma. Come on.
I'm also. Going to order a beer.
Oh yeah, beer. A gallon, a mug, A.
Mug. A gallery.
Is. 4 copper, he says. And you're in luck.

(45:29):
This is beer from right down thestreet.
We have our own brewery here. I take it you guys aren't from
around here, huh? No, we are not.
Obviously. And no one in River Run ever is.
I say that to everyone. But yeah.
This, this is right from down the street.
There's a brewery over there andhe points further down the

(45:49):
river. Like where?
Where you obviously? No, it's further down the river.
And what the fuck is that brewery called?
The Two Rivers Brewery right down the road.
Once the other river. He looks at you questioningly.
He goes. You really never happened to
River Run, have you? No.
Well, listen, there's an observation back on the second

(46:11):
story. Why don't you go up there and
take a look for yourself? In due time.
All right. Is that why this place is named
Confluence? Smart.
This one's smart. I know words and things.
Essentially he starts to explainwhy it's 2 river as well as it's

(46:32):
called the Confluence and why it's called the Dyad River.
So the the river is very large and it runs both ways from one
side of the continent to the other.
Like it runs inwards and it meets in river run but the the
water meets but it doesn't like mix.

(46:53):
Interesting. So it's technically two rivers
in one. It's a dyad river.
No one knows why it does that. The Confluence.
And the bridge over there is right over the confluence and
you can see it to go to the observation deck.
It's beautiful, got a lot of lovers and tourists that come
and look for my observation deck.
Best spot in the whole city. Perhaps after our meal, you join

(47:21):
us out there. He like thinks you're trying to
pick him. He obviously thinks you're
trying to pick him up and he's just like, maybe.
Are are you the owner of this establishment?
Yes, I'm the owner of the establishment.
I asked that. I asked that I.
Didn't hear you. Listening to the.

(47:42):
Barge whatever play we have business with you specifically.
This is not my friend here coming on to you.
He. Looks at you and it says I'm not
looking for new vendors if that's what I it's.

(48:02):
It's really important that you come with us.
He's like very not OK with this situation and he kind of like
looks over at some people further down the bar and he's
just like, are you trying to threaten?
Me. No.
No. Maybe it's better if we just
come out with it and I gesture to eon the the compass.

(48:27):
Oh, and I pull it out and I holdit out to Lim.
That's not show it to him. When I turn and I show it to the
bar owner. The bar owner like stares at it.
He goes that's so odd my my brother has one just like that.
Your brother, who is a captain, the Dawn Spire.

(48:51):
Yeah, he works at the Fort in the woods.
We have news. He did.
What? A run.
Please be quiet. Did he get fired?
What do you mean? There's no more for it.
He's dead. The loot like car like.

(49:12):
Sucks with a spring. Break.
Yeah, like this is a clearly palpable, tense moment.
Because what do you? Who are what Do you what?
Do you mean we were just there? It was.
It was attacked. Is there a better word?

(49:34):
It was attacked. It was attacked.
Your your brother's dying wish was that we brought this to you.
We hoped maybe you'd be able to give us more answers.
I just. I would have bought.
He's. Dead.
And then he he like, kind of slumps down behind the bar and

(49:57):
you don't see him like the musicstarts playing again and after.
Someone who can take over the bar for a bit.
Yep, it's pretty quiet for a couple of minutes and you don't
see him, but you you just see his little his dwarf hand reach
up to one of the taps and a little mug pull I'm.
Just going to ask this depressedman to bring us to the not at

(50:19):
the moment. No, not right now.
Start. Sipping and he goes, yeah, I I
can get my my cook to cover. I don't think you should be
trying to work right now. The bar kind of runs itself
anyways and he like kind of whistles at the cook and a a
large orc lumbers out from the back like almost humorously,

(50:41):
like it kind of almost doesn't fit through the the hallway
sideways step sideways and wipeshis greasy hands that bore me on
on his apron and go to the Ibos and he goes.
Can you watch the bar for a while?
And he goes, yeah, he steps up to the bar and he goes, oh, he
wants another. And the bar erupts with chairs

(51:03):
and people start clambering towards it.
And you guys, he walks around the bar and to one of the tables
near the fireplace and sits downwith his mug, and he's holding
the compass. Car is going to walk over and
not sit next to him. But if it's a round table like

(51:23):
sit at the like 90°. Not going to say anything at
first, just just going to sit there and.
Is anyone else joining or? Yeah, I think I'm going to go
over there. Yeah, I mean.
I guess I sit down with my pill, don't play, do.
You still have any food left, you're just eating when.
You're doing this. Or there's.

(51:45):
Just bones I'm finishing eating I.
Feel like I one thing at a time.Yeah, like it's been a rough day
for me too. I.
Think I'm just trying to sit in front of the fire, just kind of
stare down into it. Card has the the piece of bread
left and the the beer. Yeah, and he just is staring at
the compass and it's just spinning.

(52:08):
And then it's like slowing down and then it spins again.
It slows down, it spins again. Because how did how did it go?
Was it, was it fast? Was it easy?
Fast. It was strange.
That's all I can hear is like the single word answers from

(52:31):
from Ron, Ron, Ron. Beautiful.
Ron. Ron.
He was stabbed. With Bard could use some
patronage. There's nothing wrong in death.
It is not wrong for it to be quick or brutal.
It is a part of. Life.
He was stabbed with a sword and then it was a peculiar thing,

(52:53):
this body kind of turned to ash.We tried to save him but.
There's nothing we could do, nothing we could do.
He like looks horrified at the turn to ash part.
He's like that. That's not a normal.
But dwarfs don't just turn to ash.
Really not. We know it's.
I want to sit up after being quiet for all this time and like

(53:15):
in dwarfish say like he went with the whatever prayer I said
last time. I don't know dwarfish language,
so make up insert name here. Prayer.
Prayer last night. Yeah.
When he was dying. Yeah, 'cause.
Oh. Yeah, he has history with the
dwarves. Yeah, he instead of like a a
dwarven last right. So he passed.

(53:36):
He's like, yeah, he like looks really like shocked.
And he goes, thank you, that means a lot.
And as he says that, the compassstops and points at you.
Me, yeah. Do.
Do you know what that compass? Is for.
This. This fucking old thing, it's,

(53:59):
it's my brother's gimmick. It's just a simple enchantment,
points at whoever you value most.
That makes sense why it's fun when I held it.
Also, because this canonically you weren't attuned to it, He's

(54:20):
definitely, it's his brother's compass and he's definitely held
it before. Yeah.
So with magic items for you, since some of you are new to
DND, there is certain magic items that require attunement.
And for attunement to work, you have to sit with it and focus it
on only it for an hour to becomeattuned to it.
And that never happened at any point.
But yeah, no, it stops on you and he goes, he really loved

(54:41):
this thing. He used to used to take it when
he went sailing, always point back towards his wife.
It's. Very sweet.
Do we remember it? Did he say his wife is dead?
We hear about his wife. From the tone, you can pretty

(55:02):
much assume that his wife is probably dead too.
He seemed like a good person andI'm terribly sorry for your
loss. Thank you.
I mean, you're never really friends with your brother, but
you are brothers and we clearly went different ways in life.

(55:23):
But it was nice to know he was always just a little bit over
the hill. Made gestures towards where the
port would be. Yeah, we.
The group that attacked the Fortand I think Carl would know the
name. I just didn't go too long.
I don't remember it. The Pyre.

(55:45):
The pyre it. Was the pyre British pyre, yeah.
A fortunate name licking bag. Damn, that's some Fort.
That's five shadowing right there.
We've. I wrote it.
Crazy. We believe that it was the the
pyre. When you say the pyre, he kind
of like looks at you and he goesthe pyre they're they were

(56:09):
there. Yeah.
You need have you? Does?
Have you told anyone about this? This is the first we're coming
back to. This station to this big place.
There were woods and a lot of sand.
He told us to find you and that is the first thing we did.
In the big monster. Why?

(56:31):
Why would he want you to find me?
I mean, besides to give you the compass.
It makes no. Sense I think it was just to
give you the compass, not. Well, but.
We just don't know where we should go with this.
He said you could take us to themayor.
And he said you, you knew the mayor.
Yeah, everyone knows the mayor. He drinks in here all the time.

(56:52):
He'll be in here later for sure. This I I fly over from where I
was eating on to the just right, right onto the table in front of
him. This the mayor does.
Does the mayor just Does your mayor know this compass?
No, he he definitely wouldn't know this compass.

(57:13):
I just, I mean, the mayor needs to know this, that the closest
Fort burned down. The Don Spire needs to know
this. You.
You should tell the mayor, yes. Can you help us with that?
Thing. We're yeah, obviously new in
town. We don't, Yeah, yeah, sorry.
Just this whole thing with my brother.
Please take your time. Please take your time.

(57:35):
He's in here every night pretty much it you'll if you just hang
out for a couple hours, he will definitely be in here and you
can talk to him then for sure. But I just you should definitely
tell the mayor, because if we didn't know that it burned down,
I doubt that anyone knows besides you.
How did you survive? We were outside of the Fort

(57:58):
being tested by your brother at the time.
Oh, so you're you're members of the Dom Spire then?
You did is your sworn, sworn obligation to tell the mayor.
We were almost members. We had just passed and.
Then sounds like you're members to me.

(58:23):
I've never been a member of anything.
Just didn't feel very official. The immediately after the test
is when things sort of. Yeah, you graduate and your
teacher gets murdered. You know, like.
He just stares. He's shooting daggers at you.
You know what? If it's any consolation, we

(58:45):
killed the man that killed him. Good, my brother would have
liked that. Then I turned into him and
killed some more people. I will volunteer to wait here
for the mayor if everybody else would like to leave.
He's. Gonna.

(59:07):
Sure. Where are we going?
I'm just going to go in a corner, I guess.
Just. Like what?
I wanted him to know about what happened.
No, he's very You could tell he was thankful like his eyes like
when you said that you killed the man he and then it

(59:28):
progresses. We got like.
More horrified and you? Think he turned into him and
then killed more people. Get into the bird.
He's. Like, he's like, he's like, in
his head he's like, is this likesome kind of like curse?
Like what the fuck Likes likes? Your brother's dead also.

(59:48):
I turned into a bird and murdered a bunch of guys.
Come. On, not just.
A bird. The bird that killed your
brother. So he's never met a changeling
before. Most people haven't.
I hadn't. Yeah, you, you would know just
like that changelings are. Yeah, I said before that they're
relatively uncommon. They're even less common on the
mainland. Like they're, they're pretty

(01:00:08):
common over and on the continent, the the open
continent. But like here, they're less
common. They they pretty much all stayed
around the Green Gate. Like they on the main continent
are less like around. Most of the time when someone
meets a changeling, they don't know that they're meeting a
changeling. That's also true, yes.
Yeah, this. Is like a prior conversation.

(01:00:31):
Yeah, yeah, just like doing it aside, like, hey, you.
Fucked. That I feel like you all kind of
like pull to the side, you're still there and you're still
there. Anyway.
Just grieving. The guy's grieving.
Is the band, is it just a a single instrument?
It's. Just a single guy playing a
loop. I would like to be humming A
dwarven song while he's looting along give.

(01:00:53):
Me a performance SEC. I hope, I really hope it's bad.
That's definitely the bee in there.
Like I, I definitely think that that's gonna be inserted into
this fucking episode. Did you perform sick?

(01:01:16):
What'd you get? 12 better than I thought.
Yeah, it's. Not it's not bad, but it's not
great. I mean that.
The Clearly the music's not the right music, but I'm making it
work. And he looks up thoughtfully at
you, and he raises his glass to you and he he starts drinking
his his. Ale so you said it'll be a
couple hours right before the. He usually comes in here either

(01:01:40):
before or after he has dinner, right?
You'll know him when you see everyone knows the marriage.
You, you don't. You're not from here.
Perhaps missing a hand. You'll you'll see him.
I I just excuse me and I just start drawing pictures.
Perhaps it would be best if you you took time to mourn now.

(01:02:03):
Yeah, I can. I can deal with them here.
OK, yeah, yeah. I, I, I have a room upstairs.
I'll just Yeah. And and he, he turns to his chef
and he has a private conversation with him.
And the chef says, understood, I'm very sorry.
Like, it's funny because he's a dwarf and the guy's an org.

(01:02:25):
So it's like, very sorry. Pat, Pat.
Pat, Pat and the, the, the patrons, you can tell that this
is a pretty close knit bar. Like everyone comes here.
It's like one of those everybodyknows your name kind of.
And you can tell the patients know something's wrong with
them. And, and he just kind of like as

(01:02:46):
he's about to walk away, he kindof just goes one on the House
for everyone. I'm gonna cheer and not know
why. I'm gonna like, cheer slightly,
not too loud. And he raises his glass and he
walks up the stairs, the second flower, and you don't see him

(01:03:06):
for a while. I would presume.
In the meantime, we got a couplehours to kill in a fresh
Newtown. Ron, Ron said.
He was drawn pictures. We drawn pictures of.
I'm attempting to draw his brother from memory.
OK, yeah, give me a performance check with advantage because you
have a tattooer kit knowledge orwhatever, not 20.
Wow. Yeah, yeah, you describe how you

(01:03:29):
want to do this. This is what happened last time
too. Yeah, I mean, I just don't mind.
Yeah. So basically I just kind of
plopped down a nice kind of bigger seat.
You know, I just take out a big sketchbook as always.
You know, you see the tree branch kind of come into view of
my regular sketchbook and I think of the time, right?

(01:03:52):
It's just kind of before his brother died, you know?
So it's nothing graphic. It's just kind of like a good
and just like. Yeah, let's say there there was
that moment like before you noticed there was someone behind
him before he got stabbed, therewas a moment where he looked
genuinely like happy and was like clapping for you guys when

(01:04:13):
he was standing on, like you guys were on the Cliff side, he
was standing in front of you andbeing like clapping.
And, you know, it's like, kind of like a really nice photo of
him just looking genuinely happyand like he started to clap and
like, you drew that moment. The light was setting behind
him. It was golden hour.
Yeah. Do you do it in color?
Is it like black and Gray or? I think it's that I bust out

(01:04:34):
some colors for this one. Like I'm trying to make it a bit
more kind of interpretive. So I take out some of like like
kind of color smudges I guess, and I just rub them against my
hand and just start adding in. Yeah, I think you really capture
his complexion and his beard. His long white beard, long white
hair, like is a nice armor, likereflecting the sun.

(01:04:54):
It's just a really nice portraitof a dying man, a dead man,
right. A pre.
Dead Man a pre. Dead.
Man I'm pre dead. Aren't we all?
I'm not alive, I'm pre dead. With that.
I'm doing that. What's everyone else?
Doing. Perhaps now would be a good time
to go to the market. I would agree.

(01:05:15):
Would you like to? Anyone else like to go with?
Yes. Pick me up some jerky.
I very well I'll wait here for the mayor's arrival, but and.
Here and I guess and I give a list of just basic supplies to
pick up because I'm just not really interested in going.
To them and just. Also, this is just a total side
note. We don't have to do like the

(01:05:35):
actual purchasing now. We can do it like over text
later and be like, hey, this is what I bought and then you can
subtract it later. But if there's anything in
particular that you're looking for that's like special notable,
that kind of thing, we can do those kind of interactions now,
but for like general supplies and shit, we'll just do that
later because it just saves time.
It's boring unless anyone reallywants to do it.
If you find a candy vendor or a fade jeweler, let me know.

(01:06:06):
There is and and I feel like youwould when you say jeweler, they
go, oh, we got a we got a glove in jeweler in town.
It's called the what the fuck doI call it?
Like cornerstone on the corner? Also.
It actually is layer there cornerstone jeweler.
Also, I have run out of ink for my machines so I need more of

(01:06:30):
that. Just art supplies in general.
OK, you you probably get that atthe apothecary.
Yep. Every potion shop would probably
have ink. So that would probably be the
where the fuck is that the soothing dose?
That's the apothecary store. So so far the specialty stores
that the locals. I feel like you're asking around
before you go out. That's just would be normal and

(01:06:50):
they're telling you. Yeah, yeah, we got the jeweler
cornerstone. We got the soothing dose.
If you need like ink and stuff potions.
Anything else in particular you're looking for?
This is a helpful guy at the barhelping you, right?
Now just some guy. At name is Kenny Kenny Bigham.
I like Kenny. Jenny Bigham's The Backseat

(01:07:13):
Warlock it. Sounds like it sounds like a.
Show on like NBC, It's. Like it's like the peanut butter
show on Bojack. Oh, Mr. Peanut Butter, what is
this? A crossover?
Was there? Trying to think if car needs
anything, can't think of anything offhand.

(01:07:35):
I think Lux wants to try to findlike some stationary and also a
place you can send mail. Yeah.
OK. So we'll get to that.
So stationary, I mean, I just, Ididn't actually make anything
for stationary. I feel like you can get it in
the market. Yeah, it's paper and mail is

(01:07:55):
more interesting and we'll get to that when we get to that.
And do you need anything from market or anything that you're
looking for? There's also there's like
anything you can like shops you could imagine a blacksmith, a
magic shop, a magic item shop, amarket with general stuff,
jeweler, Tanner, you know, like normal, normal stuff.

(01:08:17):
Yeah, Carl's going to look for some healing.
Potions. Yeah, that would definitely be
the apothecary, the potion shop.So the soothing dosed.
Well, you are there. Get me the ink.
I'll let you know how much it is.
Cool. Yeah, I'm, I'm not sure what

(01:08:37):
I'll need later, so I'll make those decisions later.
Very well. We, we aren't really on a
timetable. Yeah, while we're here in River
Run. The very least not yet.
I didn't expect us to be on a timetable in the forest either.
I guess it depends on how this mirror reacts.

(01:09:00):
All right, well, I suppose the three of us will head out.
Then yeah, shoe go on, you will be here.
Out into the the nice midday sun.
It's beating down on the the large city river run on the mean
streets are really that's just it's just beating down on you

(01:09:21):
guys and you you're out there and there you're wandering.
Do you want to go anywhere? But do you want do you want to
do any RP in the in the shops oryou just want to buy stuff
later? How do you want to do it?
Yeah, the. RPS, let's go get general
supplies first, yeah, And then we'll look for specialty things,
OK? Just want to I'm not sure I like
expedite. I just I know shopping could be
super boring so. Yeah, yeah.

(01:09:42):
All right. Yeah, You spent a couple hours
doing that. You get a pretty good feel for
the city. And how you guys feeling about
like, do you think that you likethe city?
Are you city people? Like let me know.
I think Alex is feeling kind of nostalgic.
He misses kind of like walking the streets with his siblings
and getting lost between buildings.

(01:10:03):
This is definitely more sparse than elder Rey.
Elder Rey is more like like a like a it's it's just nicer, you
know, it's clean. It's it's Elvin structures.
This is you can definitely tell this was just kind of like
thrown together with what they had.
It's still very nice. It's a very nice city.
I'm trying to think of like an actual role of examples to

(01:10:25):
parallel it. It's just like AI don't know,
like a giant. How?
How new do all the buildings look?
You said there was something. New.
So I I was saying that someone look new or someone look older,
you can tell that there's definitely been some work done
and you can actively see the dance fire Guardsman working on
some of the buildings that are more decrepit, I guess.

(01:10:49):
Yeah. I feel like the streets are a
lot wider here than than Licks is used to though.
Like like, I don't know if you've ever been to like a small
town, but the roads are fucking huge, you know what I mean?
Like so it's like that, but in acity.
And then like in the difference between that and like all all
the Ray, it's like narrower alleyway kind of feel.
Do we find the candy? Or do the sweets vendor.

(01:11:12):
Yeah, we're only for subsets if you find that candy vendor.
I got a I believe that's A7. Mines higher than that.
Let me see. Yeah.
Car has been in cities, but it'snot 13.
Yeah, I think after some trial and error, you do make your way
through a marketplace and find astall where there's someone

(01:11:35):
making caramel apples. I think that'll work, yeah.
The the vendor's super excited to see you.
Very happy saying, oh, these apple apples are locally
sourced. Actually they come from the
forest right over there because I've heard about dead timber
forest. There's actually an Apple.
Grove. Yeah, we've been in that forest.
We. Didn't know about the apple
Groves. Though, Yeah, it's, it's more
towards the North End of that timber forest, yeah.

(01:11:56):
You just found quicksand. How deep were you in the woods?
You got lost. Yeah.
Yeah. Anyways, these are bust in
earlier today. Like bust.
As in like carded in earlier today.
How much for three? Please give you a price that
I'll figure out later. A small amount, a nominal

(01:12:17):
amount. Probably like 1 gold.
Three. Yeah.
It's like probably like 3-4 silver each.
So yeah, yeah. How many silver and a gold you
know? 10/10.
Yeah. So yeah, probably 3 silver each
seems reasonable. SO1 gold rounded up, Yeah.
Yeah. And then?
Yeah, we get health potions and if they have ink.

(01:12:41):
Yeah, there's ink there. It is kind of a specialty.
I am. So I'm going to say it's like if
you're looking for just black ink, did you tell them?
I'm going to say it's like 5 silver a pot.
I think we're just going to get one and I'll tell you if if you
want to go back for more that sounds.
Good. You do notice since you've been

(01:13:03):
clocking your surroundings, especially like because you're
used to cities as you're clocking your surroundings, you
do notice that in the middle of the market there is like a
raised area where there's a giant board that's clearly like
a, a work board, a wanted board,you know, like a like a old
fashioned Craigslist. So hell.
Yeah. That people seem to be around

(01:13:23):
and and you know, the old sayingis true.
If you need, if you need anything, it's in, you know,
river on like we need work. Go to River Run.
Up on the board, there's a It's Craig Scroll.
But it's clearly very pop in area, like there's a lot of
people that are frequently checking the board, taking
things off the board, putting things on the board.
So seems to be a focal point in the center of the market.
So yeah. Definitely couch.

(01:13:45):
Muscles yourselves. Face board market face.
Shut up, face. Board, come on.
Yeah, so that's that's and then if you want to explore more of
the city utility county you got a good amount of daylight left
the mayor probably won't show uptill he said be there before or
after dinner. So yeah, it's midday right now.

(01:14:06):
I'd. Probably wander around more, see
if I can find anything interesting, yeah?
Anywhere. He's going to look to see if.
There's any sort? Of churches or anything like
that. You want to?
Do you ask anyone or are you just wandering aimlessly through
a massive city? Massive for this world skills
now. The the second one when we're in
the market. And are you splitting up?
Are you sticking together? I'll.

(01:14:27):
Probably like stay nearby all right.
Yeah, so after some trial and error, I feel like you you kind
of wander, you wander southward and you start to see more of the
stuff down here. You find the traders Guild, keep
wandering. You see the the town hall, the
farmers Guild hall, like, you know, just.
Past the soothing dose, Yeah, you.
Go soothing dose grab that keep wandering S you see the sickle

(01:14:50):
and steel and that's the blacksmith.
You're like, oh, there's blacksmith over there.
You start to see like merchant housing, peasant housing and you
hit the the outer wall here and the guard gate.
If so, I forgot one of the languages I spoke.
I just remembered it's. Yeah, I, I assume, I assume you

(01:15:10):
can't. Are you actively looking for
these camps? There is none, There's none
anywhere. Like usually in all the spaces
you'd normally see it, like, youknow, graffiti on walls, like on
lampposts, like in the dirt by sketchy door.
Like there's none, there's no thieves can't, which is super
weird for you because like. That's like Cara definitely
didn't leave that. There were no thieves either.

(01:15:32):
And you get to the guard and there's clearly obviously a, a,
a guard barracks outside of thiswall.
Now, the temple's not over here.Would you like to go a different
way? I'm going to just see if I can
get the attention of one of the Don Spire guards.
Yeah, they're, they're all over because you're right next to the
place. Excuse me?
A man struts up to a human man, Human man human.

(01:15:56):
Man. His name is who?
His name is Tom. Like.
Oh I didn't know you were guarding the pants on spot.
Damn. I give him the but I give him
like the worst job. This is like a regular I was

(01:16:17):
guarding God. You were a fucking cop.
Come on, I see you. Yeah.
Tom walks up to you. I'm.
I'm already here. I.
Believe. By your name, I believe.
By your name, that's fine. Hey, guys.
I'm doing you. I'm living out of fantasy here.

(01:16:40):
Tom ticks off his armor. Anyways, Miss Ma'am, how can I
help you? Hi, I'm wondering if there are
any temples in river Run? I just got into town.
No one really asked about the town.
Are you? Oh, are you?
Are you? You're looking for the what the
fuck is the name of that fuckingfaction that I told you?

(01:17:01):
The light people Luminary. Luminary.
He was. Oh, you were.
You were the luminaries. I'm not, but I would be very
interested to check out their temple.
He like when you say, dude, you're not, he like kind of
looks at you and goes, that's like the only people that ever
want to know where the temple is.
Yeah, we have a temple. And he kind of like points.
And he's like, if you follow this road, it gives you

(01:17:22):
directions. You're further into the city.
You're going to pass the mayor'shouse and you'll see it it's
it's, it's a on one of the it's,it's in the middle and it's a,
it's a 10 sided building. You'll definitely see.
It's pretty obvious. Is there anything else I can
help? You with ma'am?
I don't believe there is. Well, if you need anything,
Thomas Dykers is here for you. Thank you very much, Thomas.

(01:17:47):
And he and he looks and he goes. You should join the dance fire
when you get a chance. Help us rebuild the city.
And he bows and he walks out back to his post.
Thomas Dykers there, man. Oh you guys, wait till it's your
turn to be fun. Yeah, well, I'd like to head

(01:18:07):
over. There do you have?
Anything you'd like to do first? We're going to go back to the
mail stuff. Later, right?
Well, you have to figure out where.
The mail stuff is I'm going to find.
Tom male stuff is Tom. I could have.
Asked TomTom. Did.
You say my. Name Tom Dikers?
Who the hell? Do you know where I can?

(01:18:29):
Send some mail. Yeah, definitely.
If you're looking for the the the realm runner state, you want
the realm. Runners, right, Yeah, yeah,
there if you any kind of points towards where the mayors.
House is and he goes. You go over there, there should
be a station there and and you can, you've got a role for it.
But realm runners are people in this world that are essentially
mailman. They've been enhanced magically

(01:18:52):
to get his run. Yeah, basically through any any
terrain. They're basically like fucking
crackheads, essentially. And they're they're how do they
deliver mail in this world so they don't get affected by
difficult terrain? No, Yeah, no.
One knows exactly how they're enhanced, but they.
Get the. Shit.
Done. They get your your post places

(01:19:13):
so hell yeah brother. Cool, yeah.
Yeah, you should. There's a.
There's a realm on. Our space over there and you
just go. Up and tell him.
We'd like to send it and pay thefee and he'll be on his way.
Sounds good. Awesome.
Again, Tom Duggers. Thank you, Tom Duggers.
Join the Dawn Box. And yeah, I'm happy to stop.

(01:19:35):
The mail station. First, it'll probably be quicker
than my stop at the temp. Just give me a moment to write a
letter then. Of course, you don't have to
tell us what you're writing, butif you'd like to.
Like. Story wise.
Do a little sharing, like like flashing in.
You're right, you're reading to yourself what you're writing.
Maybe. Maybe.

(01:19:56):
I can do that. I can do that.
I can give you the gist though, because.
I don't know exactly, yeah, how I would work when I was writing,
but it's it's just a letter going back to my siblings back
in Alder, right. Just.
Telling them I'm OK, maybe some like tidbits about what I've
been up to, where I am currently.

(01:20:18):
Wishing them well. All right.
Yeah. Yeah.
So you walk. Up to the station.
It's essentially like a stable, but for people almost it looks
like there's like, you know, stalls and there's like people
in each stall and they're just like waiting.
And you, you say Elder Ray and you say their name and the
stable. This dude just fucking runs out

(01:20:40):
like so fast. Jesus, that's serious.
God, I hate these people. It's like.
You. You every time you look.
Back, he's just like he's. Already almost out of the city.
Like he's so fast. How do they run?
So fast and at this point, you're in.
One day. For no particular reason.
At. All as you as you turn that

(01:21:02):
corner to go. Past what you presume would be.
The mayor's house, you do also notice some kind of like
monument. I would say like, like if you're
seeing like the the Vietnam monument where it's like all the
names on the walls, like that kind of thing where it's just
like in the middle of the street, there's two very large
walls. I'm OK with the little.

(01:21:24):
Detour. I'm curious what this monument
is sort. Of thing, Ayon, are you OK?
Yeah. What is Ayon?
Ayon. Ayon.
Ayon Ayon's just walking around.Like a kid at like an amusement.
Park everything's sparkling. Yeah.
Whoa. And like I so is River run pre

(01:21:45):
cataclysm city? Does it still have weird things
that don't make sense into so? So it is a pre cataclysm city
and you could I think. You could assume by now.
That the things that they're fixing are from the cataclysm,
like the walls that are have fallen down, the buildings that
have been burnt like but like kind of like magical, like
lamppost that are. Ignited via magic or they're not

(01:22:06):
ignited, but they are there likebecause like the the world
before was. About steam punk technology,
like that's about the area era that was like steam powered
shit. So there's like posts for what
you would presume would be like torches and stuff, but they're
not lit Young's going around andlike doing all sorts of.
Side quests while they're doing like well, well they're talking

(01:22:30):
to to a shopkeeper Young's casting mini fire bolts into the
lamppost just to light him on fire for a sight.
People are like, amazed. They're like.
Is that what those are for? Like one guy's like.
What is going on? Like like no, like you can tell
definitely. Accidentally had to put out

(01:22:51):
something actually light. A flag on fire.
Maybe you should tell there's like bird nests and shit in them
like no one has. Thought something maybe we
should. Stop lighting fires.
You're right. And I start doing it the same
thing but with cold now. So I'm shooting little ice balls
into the land. Maybe we should stop shooting
things at things if people. Do start to look at you like

(01:23:13):
hesitantly as you're doing. Magic and I.
I start. I stop doing as obvious magic.
In the street, like just freaking people's minds out
there mind freeze. Immediately fucking.
Mind Freak. Cruz, Angel, I'm freaking my
mind on you. Yeah.

(01:23:36):
So we'll take a minute. And you guys will go back.
To the the the the monument you finished your drawing, you're
still in the bar. You're still in the bar.
What are you? What are you guys doing?
So as as I would know. Like how fairies communicate.
In in Elder Ray. Like I would go up on the roof

(01:23:59):
and I'd see if there were others, 'cause that's kind of
like a meeting spot that's, you know, you're small and you can
fly. So you kind of get to talk shit
away from everybody else up on roofs.
So I'd be I'd be hanging out on the on the roof at the end, just
just sort of putting out the vibes, seeing if there's other
yeah, yeah, definitely after there's no one there at first,
but as the day kind of. Presses on a couple 2 female

(01:24:23):
fairies kind of like fly up and like take what you would presume
would be like an obvious spot where they they usually sit.
It's like a table near the edge and they just they're like, Oh
my God, like my boss is pissing me.
You're having like a like a midday, bitch says on this roof.
Right in front of you. They're incredibly well dressed,
like they're they have tailored clothing and they're one of them

(01:24:45):
is, is smoking a little pipe. I I'd like hearing about the the
boss pissing. Her off I'm like human, dwarf
elf. No, wait, no, just a.
Fuck. What is that race called?
Shit race. I know races Janasi Oh, which is

(01:25:07):
semi rare actually. Yeah, Janasis are really cool.
I think you guys just as I know you're newer.
In new place you know Janasi are.
I vaguely. So they're like elemental beings
from like gins. OK yeah yeah there's like 4
different variations. Yeah yeah there's like yeah
they're dope. Are you she like?

(01:25:28):
Looks. At you.
And like looks down at your clothes.
Which clearly like. We've talked about your.
Clothes like they are an attemptto look formal, but they're not
formal clothes and they go are you visiting?
No, I've obviously just blown in.
It's it was an uncomfortable fewdays.
In the woods for me. They look like kind of like

(01:25:49):
taking about like, oh, we haven't been in the woods in a
long time. You.
Know we should go we should go camping and they kind of like
turn back and was like it's beenso long like would you like to
join us good oh right we don't we don't who.
Are you? We don't know who you are,
right? Fair.
Enough. And I I take a seat at the table

(01:26:11):
I. Am I able to?
Determine how old. These these other fairies are
like, compared to me. How old are you again?
I, I'm a little older. I'm like later later middle.
Age for a fairy they're. Like girl boss, like 30s, you
know, I don't know. Whatever fairy equivalent of 30s
is so I I would. Just like, sit down.
With them and sort of be like I'd.

(01:26:31):
I didn't mean to interrupt. Please continue.
I'm I'm more just like trying tolisten to other Faye talk to
kind of get the vibe of what thecities really like when when
they know they're not being listened to.
Yeah. So the one just keeps bitching.
She's like my boss, just like he.
Said he had a shipment that I was supposed to pick up.
So I went down to the docks and there was no shipment there.
And just like has like a trivialday in like AI don't even work

(01:26:54):
like a a shitty job or it's not like a shitty job, but like a
job where like your problems aren't really problems kind of
thing. Like you get that kind of vibe
where it sounds like they're just having a day and they're
just like, I just need a break, you know.
But like from the context you find out that her her boss is
like a art dealer for noblemen and she was supposed to go grab

(01:27:15):
some art from the dock and bringit back but the shipment hadn't
arrived yet even though they hadgotten like a notification under
the rivet. Everyone's supposed to arrive
today, just like normal shitty office stuff essentially, but
you're getting no indication that.
Anything is amiss. That's just a normal normal ass
town it seems like. Flash to town.
Really quick. Sorry.

(01:27:37):
Flash to. Ron Heron Tom is a.
Guardsman, right? Flash to flash to Tom, who is.
Enjoying a wonderful evening. At home with his wife, husband.
Excuse. Me and two kids adoptive.
Now they're from my first. Marriage, actually.
Before you joined the dance, right?

(01:28:00):
Anyway. They look, adopt.
They look. Adopted is.
The brother in his like room, kids upstairs.
Yeah, yeah, the the, I mean there's a.
Lot of rooms I would like to go look.
For him, OK, give me a. Like a searching a perception.
Check to try to how are you finding him?
There's a bunch of room like it's an inn and a bar.
So like it's a large inn, you know?

(01:28:22):
I mean, how many rooms does an inn have?
This at least like 20. This is one of. 2 ends.
I mean, I've. Been gone a couple hours I feel
like. After I finished my drawing,
I'm. Kind of searching for him like
knocking on door. It's like, what are you doing?
I mean. Yeah, yeah, I travel.
Yeatward to find. Him.

(01:28:45):
OK, give me a, give me a a luck give.
Me a yeast, yeah. OK, so you knock on a door and.
You hear a lady inside? Go.
I'm not here. Is that me?
Neither who? Who is this man?
Help. And then as you and.
She's like leave me alone. And then as you hear that, like

(01:29:07):
she's. Screaming a door.
Down the hall opens and he goes. What are you doing?
And it's clearly the guy. There you are.
What do you? I've been looking.
For you. I've been wanting to talk to
you, OK? Remembering their previous
conversation, yes, we could. You could come on in.

(01:29:28):
OK, and I go in and. Sit down with them.
Where are you? Sitting on the bed.
Well, if he's hanging on the bed, I'm just.
Going to like kind of there's like it's like a classic.
Hotel room where there's like a cup chair and bed and.
Right. I kind of kneel down to his
level where he's at, you know? No, no, on both knees online and
I just kind of lean when you when you kneel down, you notice

(01:29:50):
next to the bed there's like. Three empty bottles like this
dude has been on the sauce for the past couple hours and he's
like you, you tell. He kind of like, stumbled into
the bed too. So he's like, yeah, what?
What do you? What do you need?
Your brother is dead. Yeah, right.

(01:30:11):
I know and that's OK that. Is part of life in my culture,
it is not very. We don't mourn over the dead.
We remember how they lived. And I open my sketchbooks and
I'm just flipping through pages, kind of showing just memories.

(01:30:34):
Yeah, of my past a bit. I'm like, in my culture, death,
we understand, comes quick, fast, sometimes horrible,
sometimes not. But it's not about that.
It is remembering how they lived.
And I flipped to the picture that I was drawing downstairs of

(01:30:55):
his brother. And I hand it to him, he like
audibly gasp when he sees his brother and he goes.
This is this is it looks just like him.
Your brother was a very honorable man.
When I. Met him and I choose not to
remember the way he died. It was very fast.

(01:31:16):
Yes it was brutal, but that is not how we should be remembered.
Do not sorrow over him, because we remember life, not death.
He starts to tear up and he he. Holds the picture and and tears
kind of hit the picture and he takes the bottle and he hands it

(01:31:38):
to you and he picks up a half empty one on the floor and he
cheers as you and will fade out of that that's really good
you're gonna have inspiration for that we flashback to you
guys as you turn the corner to. Look at this monument and you.
Get closer, you start to notice you know when like something's.

(01:31:59):
Wrong and before. You see it, you feel it, and
before you feel it, you smell it.
The scent of decay washes over your face as you turn this
corner and as you get closer. To the wall.
You notice tacked to the wall, like nailed into it in varying

(01:32:24):
forms or varying like stages of decomposition are hands.
And at the end of the at the endof the hall, it goes.
It's like a long. Hallway on both sides and
there's a lot of hands. It's not completely full.
There's obviously spaces. It's it's a large wall.
There's spaces and stuff, but there's a lot of hands.

(01:32:46):
Can I make a history check? Yeah, give me one.
And I'm just going to finish what I'm saying, but yes.
And then at the end of the hallway, there's.
The the a gate and then steps upto the mayor's house, which is a
very large structure on top of the hill I.
I. Think these might have come?
From the thieves. That aren't here anymore.

(01:33:07):
God this is horrifying. Candy mate.
I want to see if I remember. Seeing anybody missing a hand?
While we were wandering through the city.
What would that be? Insight.
History. Perception, Perception or
insight? Your choice now.
Probably perception. I had to make a call.

(01:33:28):
But hello. The 19, yeah.
So you did note it now that you're thinking about it now
that. Ions like thinking back and like
you guys start to realize this too, that there is, there's not
like a lot of people missing hands, but every now and then
there was somebody missing a hand, which like in this world,

(01:33:49):
that's not crazy uncommon. I mean, there was a calamity 20
years ago. People lost limbs.
Like there's been wars, people lose limbs.
Accidents happen. Like stumpy for exist.
For exist. Yeah, for existing.
Don't have a leg. You know I was.
Like it's not an. Uncommon sight to see a
disfigured person. In this world.
In this harsh ass world, but this is particular or peculiar

(01:34:12):
that there is a lot of hands nailed to a wall.
Do you think a thief stole his hand?
That's why he takes. Those, it's hard to say.
Should. We ask.
I'm just scared is there any like.
Writing. Anyway, just a.

(01:34:33):
Heartless hand collector. Just two walls of hell.
That's hard. Damn is it?
Is it that episode of South Park?
Hands on the wall. I got to show it to you later.
I, I, you got to see it, the part of it that I'm thinking.
About here, I've decided that's,but yeah, that's that's that's

(01:34:54):
what's there. Well.
I. Don't think there's anything
else. What's up?
I don't think there's anything. Else to see here the the Mayor's
house. Upstairs leading the house, I
don't really. Want to go to the Mayor's house
At the moment I don't know. If I like the mayor.
We'll keep an open mind, I think.

(01:35:16):
And we'll continue. Wandering our way to the temple.
The temple, Yes, you wander. You gotta.
Figure out what. Those hands are man further.
Down the street and you said this is where you start to see.
There's a lot of buildings around this area.
That clearly have been decimatedand have not been repaired.
It's very rundown. You can see people squatting in
the houses. It's not a great place, but then

(01:35:39):
as you get closer, you do start to see what appears to be a
tenth side of building right offthe street across from these
houses. You 2.
Are more than welcome to. Come in.
As I'd. Say Aon Aon, then try not to
glow. I don't think that would go

(01:35:59):
over. Smoothly.
In here. I will say from the.
Outside, the temple does not look like a very bustling place.
Yeah, we don't want to draw attention to you.
Specifically. I think I'm going to wait
outside. Fair enough.

(01:36:19):
Yeah, and it might be. Best for you to weigh out here
with licks, but you are your ownperson.
Everyone, your brother's dead. Everyone's talking like that
today. So.
You, you, you guys are free to do whatever and we can come back

(01:36:40):
to you in a minute. Would you like to enter the
temple? Yes, please.
All right. Cara enters this sacred.
Space. It is dimly lit.
It is A10 sided building, large building.
You would know being a, a clericthat in city centers, there's no
individual temples. Most people just throw all the,

(01:37:02):
all the temples into one temple and it's 10 sides, there's 10
gods. And it's, it's like, I don't
know if you guys know what a, a decahedron or what's a
dodecahedron. No, no, Decagon.
Decagon. I sent the D.
Picture of it last night becauseI was like, this is a real this
is a. Real shape.
But essentially. It's 10 sides and each and they
all form like triangles. So there's ten.

(01:37:23):
It's like, it's like almost looks like a clock kind of
thing. And, and it's just separated by
yeah, it's, it's open, but it's separated by like lines on the
floor. So it looks like a what clock?
Oh, a Clock A. 10 digit clock. As you walk in, you notice that.
It's dimly lit. Is there anyone in there?
Yeah, there's, there's a couple people in one of the the corners

(01:37:46):
and, and you've been in a lot oftemples, I would assume as a
cleric. There's like, you know, a spot
at the end of each wall where you can sit and there's a little
statue like built into the wall of the what the what those gods
look like going around. You do notice you only have to
roll for it that the, all the people are at the the Cyrus

(01:38:07):
child light area. And that is a very well lit part
of the temple. The rest of it's pretty dim and
dark. That's what you notice without a
perception check. Yep.
Is there any sort of? Tithe box or anything like that?
Yeah, in the middle of the room where all the points intersect,
there is a general donation. Like box kind of thing, car is

(01:38:29):
just going to drop in like 3 copper.
You hear the the the the people from the luminary.
Area go. Thank you.
And then she's going to walk over to the Boehner.
Statue. And if it is dusty or not well
taken care of, spend some time cleaning up on that.

(01:38:50):
Yeah, do some upkeep. It's not like crazy, does it?
Like the place? Is generally well kept, but it's
not like Immaculate. So it's not, yeah, you do kind
of, you do kind of some, some cleanup, maybe like a few
candles, like, you know, just general church shit.
And yeah, as you're doing it, you, you do get, I would say a
feeling that like this is normal, like it's like normalcy

(01:39:11):
for you, a normalcy that you probably haven't felt in a
minute because again, been inside a temple for a while.
You start getting almost homesick vibes.
You start to feel like a gentle, almost like a phantom caress on
your shoulders, remembering yourupbringing in your town in, in
Oopen Falls. And you feel the, the, the hand

(01:39:33):
on your shoulder of I forgot hisname, Sorry.
I wrote it down to your your mentor as he leads you through
some scripture from Maynard and you, it's weird because like
he's a dwarf and you started being a cleric when you were a
child. So the caress like, you know,
like you got taller, but he stayed the same.

(01:39:55):
So it weirdly got heavier as yougot older, almost like you were
bearing his weight. And it's like a phantom memory
in your head. But you kind of feel it on your
shoulder. Yeah, thinking back, she.
Car is going to feel, yeah, definitely that that homesick
feeling, starting to wonder how everyone's doing.

(01:40:19):
She hasn't been back in like 16 years or something like that.
She's going to then go through holding her holy symbol and just
offer some prayers and the usualsilence.
Yep. Comes through back to.
You. As you return to the the land of

(01:40:41):
the world, you know, whatever the land of living, and you
know, you're back in this churchand you hear some chanting from
the luminaries on the other side.
It's probably been 3035 minutes ish.
Yeah. And then she's just going to.
Thank the the keepers and leave on your way out.
You do notice the spot. Next to the door, there's no

(01:41:04):
other. There's no other upkeep done
anywhere in this building besides the luminaries.
And now where you did it. There is one small candle lit at
one of the other shrines though.Which one is that?
Maker 7 Chuck if a tongue eight.Yeah.
So you. Walk up to it and walk a little.
Closer. Yeah, you're looking at it.
And it's a. Black candle and it looks like

(01:41:26):
it had been burning for a. While.
And it's to Amani. The Dreamer is the goddess that
it's lit for. So he's been in there a while.
And 35 minutes. Eon's getting bored.
So Eon's going to wander in cause Eon does enjoy the gods to

(01:41:47):
their own degree when they pass by.
Yeah, on a on a planer level. Here we go in.
I don't understand. In the middle, I just feel which
side feels most like home, like my the God I had contact with.
Do you want me to roll for that?Yeah.

(01:42:10):
You had a. Whole talk about this yeah, you
said you you said that you had contact with Cyrus.
So yeah, it would, obviously. Be the luminaries.
Is that the one that's Yeah, that's Cyrus Luminaries.
You said that. In your back story you had
written. About Cyrus.
So let's keep a low profile. Waste 30 minutes.
Hello. Hi, everybody is in the middle.

(01:42:31):
Yeah. And it's obviously well.
Lit. It's the most taken care of.
The other ones are dim, like the.
Dusty dim, you see you didn't catch you on walking because
you're you're kind of just like staring at the candle and like
looking at that, focused on that.
But then you turn around and youjust see Eon in the middle of
the room, like I'm going to walkunhurriedly.

(01:42:53):
Just just a casual. Walk.
Up to EON. Do you stay where you are?
Am I chasing you down? Feel like I recognize.
The spooky symbol. That that had me in jail but

(01:43:15):
said nice things otherwise. So I'm gonna give a small dance
prayer from from behind them, make a performance.
I need to know how bad this dance.
Is a dance prayer? First step, glow.

(01:43:37):
Second step, do Tai Chi. Yeah, I was going to say.
Let's see a. 17 do Tai Chi. Understands.
Make a step in juggling, man. Type car.
A 19 just so you. Know I have.
So you would notice. You know you're not.

(01:43:57):
You didn't. Get the fastest to stop.
This but you do notice that the dance that Aeon is doing you
caught the very end of the dancethat are you in here?
She's sorry they they were doingunder the stars and it's
incredibly similar to that like do Tai chi under stars.
This is a way better performancethan you gave the night before.

(01:44:17):
It's very favorable performance. It looks very nice.
You do, very quietly. Too, so no one even notices
you're. Doing it besides Cara.
First up, Glow Performance. On dancing.
Advantage. Advantage on dancing only
dancing Advantage. Dancing already crazy.

(01:44:39):
That was quite nice, Ian. I think it's time we go though.
Like wave goodbye to the God. Just trying.
And I'll. I'll.
Follow you out as you pray for some reason pictured like hot to
go like. I never said it's not that it's.
Just. Slower what's what's good is

(01:45:02):
you. Know what's good?
Is relative like. It was a really good
performance. It can still.
Be hot to go Temple Road, not togo as a Temple Road slate.
Hot to go? Right.
Now funny. Yeah, and.
That's kind of glancing. Over my shoulder.
They're really right place over there.
Where they are so. Slightly glowing.

(01:45:22):
It's like hard to tell because they're already in a bright
cloth. Also, you're wearing whoever
notices A glowing humanoid. I mean, you're also wearing
clothes and it. Says in.
Your in your thing that it damages yeah travelers.
Travelers clothes can cover it. Makes me what?
Damn as. You as.
You start to. Exit the temple.
You walk past. Imani's.
Site again and the candle goes out from presumably you walking

(01:45:44):
past and you're back outside after the sun is getting low.
It's still there. Yeah, he's still there and.
What were you doing just leaningon a lamppost?
Being a good. Guy writing a.
Letter. I think I was just thinking
about the fucking. Handhole and.
Just like. Did you already write your
letter or were you? Yeah, I wrote the letter

(01:46:05):
already. We're just deep in thought.
Deep in thought, just. Like the horse?
Damn. Damn.
The afternoon sun is. Getting, you know, starting to
sink in the. Sky we head.
Back to the. End agreed.
All right, you make your way downtown.
Walking fast takes quite a quite.

(01:46:26):
A while to cross. We're home.
Back faces fast. 80 faces fast, we're home.
Back do do do do do do. What do you get to?
The market. Do do get?
To the. Market people are starting to
pack. Up you can tell that it's.
It's close to stop by and. Say hi to Stumpy.
Oh, you're at the inn? I might come by and stay up if.
That. Little very friend of yours is

(01:46:46):
still with you. Yes, yes they are.
Well then. Maybe didn't feel like leaving
the inn yet. Cow me in for a brew, then we'll
see there. Sounds good, sounds good.
What are we brewing? Alcohol.
No, Somebody already brewed. It you're having this
conversation. As you're wanting, yeah, that's.
That's just what people. Call beer something.
You have to brew beer, so it's called a brew.

(01:47:13):
Yeah, it takes quite a while to cross the city, so by the time
you, you get. Back to the end, the sun is
setting over the water. It is immaculately beautiful.
Flashback to you, the conversation you're having with
a lady. They go well, I suppose I should
be getting back to my boss. Unfortunate.
It was amazing. To me.

(01:47:35):
And I assume at this point you'd.
Already like exchanged. Like names, names, phone
numbers, you know. AOL, Yeah.
Keg had some. That's an AOL e-mail still.
Oh my God, no way it. Still.
Works crazy, Yeah, so. They're they're very happy to
meet. Did you?
Want to ask them anything else? For the leave or.
More or less I was just kind of like getting the vibe of the

(01:47:56):
town. Like who?
Has control what's what kind of people are around, you know?
Yeah. So, so essentially I would say
you you were chilling for a couple hours, you definitely got
that information. It would definitely be no one's
really in control. It's just like a normal setup.
You got the mayor and then you got some, some nobles and you
got merchants. Merchants are usually higher
than that. The traders, the, the, the
anyone who has like class stuff is higher, you know, like trades

(01:48:19):
and, and there's, there's obviously commoners and peasants
and farmers like, you know, thatfarmers generally live on either
their farms or in the poorer neighborhoods.
The farm handlers go to work from the cities like things that
bust them out to the farms to help with the farm work.
Merchants are highly respected, the markets a huge draw.
Dock workers are respected. It's just like a normal city

(01:48:40):
essentially. You know that most of it is run
on trade, though, like, you know, agrarian society, like,
they ship out a lot of crops everywhere.
So that's the main export. And the city is doing well,
essentially. OK.
There's high demand and lots of tourism.
Not tourism, lots of people. Coming in influx for workers and
stuff. All right, well, I guess I've

(01:49:04):
I've. Learned what I needed to know
and they've already. Gone.
So I would I would go back in and see if the mayor has showed
up. And also where is Ron Haron?
It's funny that you say that cuzright as you say that you hear a
loud. Clambering as Ron Haron falls
down the stairs and on his back, riding him.

(01:49:27):
Is. The dwarf bartender.
And he's like. My brother's dead.
And then my brother goes. Your brother's dead.
Do we walk in and see? Yeah.
You all you had. Just walked in and you had.
Just started to like and you. You all hear the crash and see

(01:49:48):
that scene. Seen a lot of interesting things
today. What just happened?
They're having fun. Yeah.
It's probably. Dead nobody.
Cheers. People look shocked, hurt the
two of them, yeah. Do you think we're gonna have

(01:50:11):
to? Get lodging at the.
Other inn. That's the owner on his
shoulder. Points across fine.
The owner of a. Car points across the street.
There is another inn by the way.Directly across the street
called Under the Bridge, there'slike a, it's like way quieter.
There's just like a guy. Sitting there like, yeah, come
over here. It's like clearly the the like

(01:50:32):
it. It's like the Motel 6 two to
ohh. Makita, you know neither. 1 is
great. Fuck you, I'm.
Makita man, it's the. Slightly worse one.
It's the one. I don't like as much, so there.
Not even the Best Western guys, it's probably.
Midwestern or Motel 6? I'm sorry, we're still out of

(01:50:53):
Motel 6. It's, it's probably, it's
probably a there's a Motel 6 too.
OK, there's Super 8 and then there's.
Motel 6. It's a Best Western.
To like a highway. Like like a Moat, like an
express to. Motel like a like a non chain
hotel. Oh, Days Inn also belongs.
On there now so. We're not getting into that
right now. Let's.

(01:51:15):
All right, so. Yeah, you guys all see this?
And it's like dead silent. Everyone's staring at you.
At least he's. Having a good time and at that.
Look over and try. And pick get them above the
ground. Yeah, people are coming in.
You can. Tell us that all the market
people are coming in for their drinks.
At sunsets, getting dark out, probably 30 minutes past if you

(01:51:38):
guys just killing time in the bar and a halfling man walks in.
He's chubby, actually. Where's where's my signature?
The escorted by anybody. No, he just freely walks in.
Let me find my manager. Did Here's the guy.
Did any of us? Did any of us?
Ask the mayors. Name No Lemaire.

(01:52:00):
Yeah, so the the mayor walks in.He's a he's.
A. He's a.
Chubby half elf or sorry, chubbyhalfling.
He's got a mullet. It's blonde.
He's got a whole beard that's blonde and he's got a one of us
just like to have a mullet. What is he wearing?
No, he's got like a tape. And got a tape over 1.
Shoulder a red satin. Cape looks nice, very

(01:52:21):
fashionable. He's got elegant traveler's
clothes on. Does he have two arms?
He only has one arm. His.
Left arm is missing. The whole arm basically from
like, I mean it's a half leg, soit's kind of proportional.
What's a whole arm, Even half leg?
It's a quarter arm. Yeah, it's.
It's like where it normally would be, like the elbow.

(01:52:42):
And yeah, he just walks in and he goes.
Why is it so? Silent and ever goes.
Oh, Mary is. Mr. Peanut Butter and yeah,
everybody perks up. Immediately the second he enters
the. Room it seems.
Like like Joy entered the room with him and Joy.

(01:53:03):
Is not just his. First wife, he brought the vibe
back essentially. And he walks to the bar and he
slaps it and the the orc bartender just immediately hands
him a very comically large mug for his halfling hand and he
just starts starts drinking and everyone starts to having a
normal joyous time. Seems like this is an every

(01:53:24):
night occurrence. I feel like we should stop him
before he drinks too much. Yeah, kidding.
Me, the mayor seems awesome. You're busy.
I don't know this guy. The bartender the.
Bartender looks a big. Mayor is lost.
So yeah, that's customer save the town, no thieves.
That's my brother's dead and he falls down.

(01:53:51):
The rest of us are going to walkover to the mayor, I think
maybe. Not the rest of us.
Most of most of us. And not Ron Heron in the dwarf.
It's probably best that we don't.
Surround this halfway I'm. Also not walking over there.
Well, who's going to go? Okay.

(01:54:12):
Seems like my kind, yeah. Yeah.
So I. I'm going to take over on this
one, so I'm going to. Fly into the seats next to the
mayor. Going to take that seat.
Do you presume the seat next to the mayor was open?
Because this is a very popular. Halfling.
There is not a seat next to him.Open.
You people crowding around and clapping him on the back asking

(01:54:33):
what he did today. They just seem like you're
having a jovial conversation with a very likeable guy.
But as you walk over towards themayor.
You hear from behind you there's.
My lady as Stumpy comes into thebar.
Excuse me a moment. I'm going to go say hi to.
Stumpy. Well, I.

(01:54:54):
Was going to tell him about the wall of.
Hands or her about the hand wallof.
Hands that fucking wall of hands, Mayor.
Yoga. I love this dude.
I can sense instant warmth. We must, we must get to him.

(01:55:18):
He leaves in here and goes. Just let me know if you'd like.
To get a room later. OK, understood.
In the meantime, I'm going to godrain the lizard.
Or should I say? The snake and he walks in
towards the bathroom sauntering. No legs on that thing.
Turn around in here. Right Shit.

(01:55:43):
All right. This guy's.
I'm I'm gonna go back. To these two.
So like before you talk to the mayor, he seems great, but.
Near his house. There's a monument of hands, a
whole like a. Whole way of like a.
Statue or no? Real people's hands that have

(01:56:05):
been cut. Off and nailed to the walls.
Maybe he just likes hands. Don't think.
You treat things you like. Like that you hear laughing.
And bugs stapled on the wall. Just.
Something the. Rock after after you hear this.
You look around and you do notice that there.

(01:56:27):
There's some people in there like celebrating around the
mirror without hands, like there's like one or two of them
hoisting a bug with them. Let's.
Something to keep in mind. The mayor gets hands so.
Many times. What's?
He on doing dancing. It's a.

(01:56:49):
Different loop player vibes. Are jovial.
Yeah. It's a different loop player, a
way better. Loop player use.
Track three-way better. This is the evening loot player
with the bar his visit like. Taps on the taps on the money.
Like what's up, river roll? Nice.
Are we ready to roll? What the fuck is up Dennis?
It's not a mic necessarily, it'sjust a backwards gourd.

(01:57:13):
That amplifies. This guy slaps.
I love it. Here it is here in the
background. This keeps playing and it's
like. That mom told me.
Here's the. Ball.
Eon's not used to probably this many people, but I'd say.

(01:57:35):
Up until the the camp, what theywere used to is like maybe a
boat of dwarfs, not like a they hadn't really been to cities.
So they're just kind of, yeah, they're more to this side.
I'm starting to get jovial in this joint.
Yeah. And before if you were getting.
Involved the dwarf stands up andhe.
Runs over and. Starts like dancing are supposed

(01:57:59):
to, yeah. And there's a there's a moment
where. Everyone starts to walk towards
like the, you know, the loot player and the the crowd breaks
away from the the mayor and the mayor is ordering another drink.
I think this is our time, Yeah. And we?
Push up to the you like surge. Up on this man, I'm not.
I'm not, I just like walk. Up like.

(01:58:20):
Finally and I. Pat him on the back.
She like. Balls into the bar goes.
Whoa, sorry. Hey.
And he points this stuff. And he goes hands up.
You're so tall. I am love.
That love that for you. I like this.
One great guy right here. Let's see how this plays.
I'm going to shoot the mayor my most dazzling.

(01:58:41):
Smile. Give me a performance check.
That's a performative smile. Performative smile.
Perform for me. Perform.
Happiness. It's going to be interesting.
It's not. Performative.
I'm so I'm. Really.
They're saying. That yeah, there's some seething
underneath. The smile he.
Kind of looks at you and he's like.

(01:59:03):
Welcome to my city, Rubber Run. Definitely a local artist.
Because I I. Presume I've never seen your.
Faces I don't. See everyone's faces, but are
you new here? Are you visiting for the night?
Who do you know that brings you to my first year?

(01:59:26):
We are new in town we just came from.
Dead Deadwood. Dead timber.
Dead timber, dead timber forest and oh, right over.
There, yeah, dead timber. Yeah, I love that place.
I just had a candied apple from there earlier today.
Local specialty. Speaking of which, let me hand

(01:59:47):
you 3. He goes.
Oh. Perhaps now is not the time.
No, you should, he turns. You should.
Definitely, they are phenomenal. He's like he's very he talks
with his hands too hand well, hehe waves it around.
He waves it around. So much it.
Looks like he's very good at it.So to be forward, Mayor.

(02:00:11):
We're. We're here on official business.
He like, straightened up. He puts his stump on his hand.
We'd love to have. A official business when you
talk. Like you're from the Dom's, fire
it. Takes a drink.
It might be because you're not over.
There what? Yeah, he is.

(02:00:31):
Yeah, he was he. Was the pleasure of the approach
everyone. But you over like I.
Patted him on the back. He, he when you.
Say. When you say you are from the
Dom's fire, he like. Looks kind of like like you
almost like took the party out of him and he goes, puts the mug
down, he goes. How can I help you?
We're really sorry to we may want.

(02:00:54):
To move away from the this. Is a private conversation OK All
right, OK, I. I I get you.
My favorite song, River Run it is this.
Is a really long song. I think it's always like, you
know this. Barge is really good at this one
song. It's a.
One hit, one it. Does well, let's.

(02:01:18):
Go to the. Roof, I guess that's right,
yeah. So you you make your way up the
the narrow staircase and the. The sound of.
Jovial music and the clinking ofmugs leaves you hear the song
and as you. Start to Crest up onto the top
of the roof. And you hear, oh go, oh go, he
goes. You want to hear river roam the

(02:01:39):
back and. And cheering as as the door
closes to the roof, there's no one else up.
There are you up there with themor did you stay downstairs?
No, it's chilling. Did not get perception score too
low. You are up on.
Top of the roof. And he sits down at the the
same. Table you were at earlier.
And he, he looks over the river and he goes, I love this view.
It's the best view in the entirecity.

(02:02:02):
So what's what's up? What do you need to talk to me
about? Do you We make?
This. Kind of, yeah, I got yeah.
The pyre is gone. No, no, no.
The Fort is gone. What the Fort that we were at
was the. Fort called the Pyre.
No, the Fort. Was like called the pyre.
It was a the group. Oh what the hell, The Fort Raka.

(02:02:23):
Whatever. Yeah, I.
Know that's what we'll call thatthe name.
Pyre's name of the group. It never came.
Up. Yeah, we.
Didn't have time? It's fine, I'll presume.
What you said. Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, it's, it's gone. It's.
Gone. What do you mean it's gone?
I burnt. Down burnt.
Accidentally burnt down. Purposeful.
Burned the captain who runs thatdead.

(02:02:51):
You. Hear from outside his brother's.
Dead. Yeah, he's right.
And like if you look over like. Off the edge you see.
The dwarf. Guy just pissing and I, I
wonder, Mr. Mayor. How many times you've heard that
tonight my brother's dead? Yeah, that.
Was his my? Brother's dead brother.

(02:03:13):
Oh, OK, so. Business, we got a.
How, How, who, what? So who are you?
We. Had all been gathered.
By the dawn Spire to take a training for it, I get.
That yes, we had just passed ourtest.
Congratulations, welcome. Thank you.
And then an Eric Hochran murdered the captain and.

(02:03:39):
Weird that you. Had to use a race there that.
Was odd. I'm kidding.
Noted. Racist.
Human. Racist and there.
Was. Several members of the pyre.

(02:04:00):
There. Wait, wait, the the pyre was
there? Yes, they were.
Responsible. They they.
Burned down the Fort they. Locked all the guards in.
All the guards, all the guards, all the.
Even John Stewman and John Stewman, he makes the best Stew.
I did. I was up there last week.
And I was checking in on the. Fort that's I had heard that we

(02:04:21):
were getting new recruits and unfortunately, wow, this is I'm
sorry, this is a lot. OK, all right.
He starts like he starts, running his hands through his
mullet. You can see why we didn't want
to wait until the morning to tell you, but.
Yeah, no, I'm glad. How best to find you.
Yeah, you made the right. Wow, you made the right.

(02:04:42):
Decision I'm. Going to have to do.
Something. Obviously.
OK What day is it? He he like, looks up equivalent
of Sunday. Yeah, yeah.
He's like, he's like thinking he's like, OK, all right.
They've gone too far this time. We can't just let the slide.
They've been. They've been a huge pain lately.

(02:05:02):
One one person got away with a barrel.
Of Matt Magistite, when you say that like he was holding a cup,
he just like drops. His cup.
And it hits the roof and it shatters and he goes excuse,
Okay, I'm just making sure a barrel.
Yes. To be fair, everybody was

(02:05:23):
invisible at the. Fucking.
Time. They they they used.
I don't think you Have you ever tried to stop an?
Invisible person, I don't cart, I'm not.
Blaming. You listen, I don't even know
you, but I don't think you understand what a.
Barrel of Arcanite is capable ofwe can imagine and he like turns

(02:05:44):
towards the city and there's. A good view of the city.
And he goes. What?
He starts yelling. He's like, what do you mean?
To be fair, I don't. Think.
The person who got away is. OK.
Anymore. Wait, were you not aware that a
barrel of Arcanite was supposed to?
Be there I I know that they get shipments and they transported
to other. Place.

(02:06:04):
I'm not at liberty to discuss the shipment routes of Arcanite
right now, but I know that it passes through the Dawn Spire's
hands. It's the only place that it's
any kind of space that it's. The Dawn Spire.
Are the only ones that are legally allowed to handle well
with how coordinated this attackwas, it would.
Seem somebody more knowledge than you about the shipping of
Arcanite has taken liberties with that information.

(02:06:28):
This is way. More than I wanted.
To deal with tonight. Any are any of you holding a
drink? No, no, you had a bottle.
He just. He grabs the bottle from you and
he just starts. Drinking it and he and before he
goes his hair is all fucked up. He like kind of Combs it back
after he takes a drink. He's like, OK, all right.

(02:06:50):
And he gets, he gets some composure and he's like, I'm
going to have to, to talk to theothers about this.
All right, I, I. Have to go, he starts.
He starts talking. To himself again.
Literally at this point, not talking to you guys, he's
talking to himself, but you're just there and he's like, OK,

(02:07:11):
well, I'm supposed to meet with them in a week anyways.
I guess I can bring it up then and you guys, but they're not
going to believe me. They're always fighting to OK, I
need you to come with me. I.
Need you to tell. Them this story, Where do you
need us to go? The other.

(02:07:32):
The other. The capital leaders, the 13.
I'm one of the 13 the the leaders we we all meet every
couple months and we discuss what's going on in our cities.
It's normal. But this is important.
And they won't just believe my me saying this.
I need Don Spire witnesses everycapital leader.

(02:07:52):
Every capital leader. OK.
Is it? This is like a normal like.
For him, it's not. It's like just politics.
It's like, yeah, we meet. To discuss the affairs of the
city and go through rules and boring political stuff.
This is incredibly important andI need you to come with me and
deliver these statements. Otherwise they won't believe
just me. How how far is it?

(02:08:12):
Or do they come here and he he'slike.
Starts he's he's like, it's not far.
I'm trying to. Pull up the world now.
I'm sorry it's not far. It's it's actually very
conveniently located for me and me alone.
Weird a while that happened, they really built it right?
Around here for some. Reason you guys.
Are in good to run right here the they are meeting in.

(02:08:35):
Cynosure, which is the exact center of the continent.
You've never been there. None of you ever been there.
It's literally only used for political meetings.
It's like this point. It's it's literally, it's not a
city. It's just like a giant castle
essentially. And you guys, I, I have to go to
sign a shirt. We have a quarterly.
Meeting it's in about. A week I I need you all to come

(02:08:58):
with me. I suppose we can do that.
Why? All of us, because if it's just
one or. Two, they'll think.
I'm trying to pull something over on them I.
Need all of you. Well, this one knows how to
party. I'll give him that, you guys.
And he goes. And at this point, you're

(02:09:18):
members of the Don. Spire and I'm a.
Commander, I am now ordering you.
You are coming with me, designer, sure.
But in the meantime. Enjoy the city.
And he said. And he kind of just like
gestures. To river.
Run he. Goes but I need you here in a
week. Do you need anything more

(02:09:39):
immediately from us? It's details and he just wants
to like get all the. Like narrow iron out the details
so that the. Story is straight and
consistent, which he briefly explains, but he also goes in
the meantime, if you could help out the city in any way you can.
I mean, there's a job board. They enjoy it, you know, like
you're not, I'm not, you're not my prisoner.

(02:10:01):
He just, he just says, and afterthis you can go whatever way you
want, but I do need you to come with me to tell this story very,
very well, I suppose, Commander. He hails.
When he when he hails up and he.Touches his.
Because he's wearing a shoulder.Cake.
He touches a shoulder. Cake.
You do see a Don Spire ring on his pants as well.

(02:10:27):
He goes. Is that everything for tonight?
No more. Surprises not for must no.
OK, well. At some.
Point during this. Week you can also.
Come to my house for dinner. I'm sure you've seen my house.
It's up on the hill any point and you can you can see it's
it's like on a hail. So like you can see it from

(02:10:48):
where you are right now goes Yep, right over there.
Just come by, let the Guardsman out front know that you're here
to see me for dinner, and I'll let you in.
Speaking of your house, magnificent.
You've seen it. It's a beautiful palace, right?
Hi, it's not like. It's more of a it's like a large
mansion. It's not really.
Like a palace, but he. Thinks highly it's it's a

(02:11:08):
mansion. When you're half the size, it's
a. Human.
It's a beautiful home. I couldn't help but notice the
very peculiar. Monument in front of it the
gate. Oh yeah, I had that shipped in
from out the ray actually. Alvin Craftsmanship.
Beautiful. The hallway with the hang.
On Sorry, yeah, I forget that people who aren't.

(02:11:29):
From here, don't aren't used to seeing.
That. No, yeah, that's just I like to
think of it as a deterrent and keeps people around here honest,
interesting. No crime in River Run, is it?
What I assume? Are.
The hands of anyone who's done any thieving.

(02:11:50):
You are correct. Simple concept, easy to
understand. Gets the message across.
Crime rate has gone way down since I implemented the whole
hands. How long has that been here
about? Five years or so.
Before that, it was rampantly out of control.
I had to. Fight tooth and nail just to get
power in the city. Does it have to do with how you

(02:12:14):
lost your arm? He like gestured your stomp and.
He's just like, Oh no, that's from the Cataclysm.
Nothing to do. Weird coincidence though, right?
You know, actually. That's a really.
Easy, I might start spreading that rumor myself.
And he? Laughs.
That's. That's smart.
You're a smart one. I can see why they.
Put you in the dance fire. I expect big things from you,

(02:12:37):
winks seductively. But in the meantime.
Enjoy yourself. This is all of you, right?
And there's no one else. There's one more downstairs.
They were just busy with the party.
The busy with this seems they'reenjoying.
They entrusted us to take care. It's got a glowing.

(02:12:57):
Personality. Bright future ahead of so I
might do assume that. They entrust you they're.
Your leader. They'll they'll come with for
the for the other maybe. Like the mascot?
There's a strong. Word, this is their first time

(02:13:18):
minister. Leader in the same way a.
Dog, I'm sure will be. You all made it in the dance.
Part. I'm sure you're trustworthy.
In the meantime, I have to keep up appearances.
And he smiles and. And it's almost like instant
when he smiles, it's like the glow comes with the warmth comes
back. Like it just feels good, you
know? You're like, yeah, OK, cool.
And he just picks up the little shattered pieces.

(02:13:41):
Of his his cup. And he walks back downstairs and
he goes, I'm so drunk, I'm broke, my cup, booty's getting
me a new one. And they go.
Yeah, man told me I'm getting into the river Run did.
We did we notice this mayor mentioning that he didn't get.
Elected, but he forced himself into power, yes.

(02:14:05):
And then started chopping people's limbs off.
Oh, trust me, I've been thinkingabout it all day.
OK, OK. Understood.
I've met worst. Mayors.
Have you met where I I'm just kidding, How many mayors?
Has Ron or Ron met? I mean.
I've traveled through a lot of villages so I feel like I've.

(02:14:25):
Seen like some great mayors, some I would not really not so
good fucking mayors. Just like historically and just
as a lore thing. Every every place that's not a
capital city, it's pretty much like lawless, like it's however
people want. If they can get together and
make a community, hell yeah, they can't.
There's like thievery, there's abunch of other shit.

(02:14:45):
But also every capital city is not inherently like has a mayor
or a certain political system. They're all run individually
however they see fit in their own, like Hamlets, like city
states. Yeah, they're they're
essentially city states, yes. So this one happens.
To have a mayor, yes. Yes, I have seen the Thunder
dodecahedron and it is not pretty.
That's sick. That's going to be on the map.

(02:15:07):
Tomorrow there's Tom's fucking theory crafting out here, Lord.
Drive. Under.
No, I don't even know. What the fuck?
That's real. It is.
And it is glorious. I don't think I want to
gladiator. Do you want to see it?
Yeah, it's. Going to have to be a gladiator.
City. Obviously.

(02:15:28):
Like that's sick as fuck. It.
Exists. I think I have a place called
Thunder Bay or something. So, like, aren't you even gonna
gonna let me know? Yeah, you.
All you're all still on the rooftop and you just yeah, that.
We. Should, but yeah, I don't know
how well. Sure thing, Stairs and Eon is
now intoxicated. And.
No one you can. You can get intoxicated I would

(02:15:51):
assume being around. Dwarves a lot, Eon knows.
Their way around a couple of different alcoholic beverages.
What's eon like when they're drunk?
Are they any different? What is?
What is? You being drunk.
Probably. Definitely dancing.
Do you have a liver? It's.
Like a great question. Do you pee, dude?

(02:16:12):
Can you break the seal? There's dancing.
No, no, it combusts. Inside.
And turn it to There's a lot of dancing, dancing and the scarf
is gone, so. There's definitely.
Just glowing not not in as control.
So maybe a little bit, I don't think anyone's really a pulse
like unless they're like like pulse staring at you like.

(02:16:33):
One guy is just like staring. At you from the corner.
But like when you kind of, I don't know, there is one guy
that's. For sure like clocking.
You. Being wild and like just I'm not
clocking that facial hair. He's like.
So do we see this? Yeah.
You would definitely notice. That yon.
Yon come here. Guys.

(02:16:56):
Where'd you go? It's so good.
To see you. I wasn't petting.
Oh. He, he was like nervously like.
Oh yeah, but. Honestly, the longer.
You watch him, you do. Notice that he just.
Seems like he might be tweaking a little bit, yeah.
He's just some guy, Whatever. OK, not.

(02:17:16):
My problem So Ian. We.
Have a new task in a week. Hooray.
We're going to. Yeah, There's no sense.
Of purpose to a meeting. And we're going to.
Tell them what happened at the Fort and tell everybody what
happened. At the Fort so for.

(02:17:39):
Now it seems like we've all. Been get to stay.
Here and. Have a good time in River Run,
We've all been. Vited to not be allowed to leave
the city. The dwarf bar owner comes back
and he. Goes you, you all.
You, you've been you. You all been so great.
My brother's dead. Your brother's dead.

(02:18:00):
You can't have some rooms. Here you go, he gives you.
Keys doesn't tell you. Which rooms there?
For, there's no indication on the key.
Like which number it is. He goes OK, and he's wanders
back upstairs to his room. This is.
This is as convenient as it is confusing.
He didn't have to pay, I just. I'm going to give my I'm.

(02:18:21):
Going to give my key. To.
Licks. Like you'll figure this out
faster. Oh, unlock some doors, Licks.
Please. That's what I mean, that's why I
have the keys. I never said I.
Was going to. Pick the locks.
Do you say pick the locks like acouple heads like turn and like
look in your Dome or? Me never never keys keys.

(02:18:42):
Unorganized keys. Choose Choose the.
Locks right everyone? See we got.
To we got to. Pick the key.
For the locks, it's. A linguistic issue.
Sorry, comma from around. Here commas are important.
He's. He's getting back up on the day.
And then and then. As the night starts to.
Fade out before you go to your room.

(02:19:03):
You go here to get and that's where we'll end the session.
