Join us on this episode of Veterans Be Real and learn the importance of your Military experiences and how you use it as a civilian. We’ll also understand how different the civilian world is to what you’ve known in the Military.

Key Points:

Give yourself more than 60 days to prepare for a new life

The more time you give yourself to prepare in the civilian world and understand where you want to go, the earlier the better

There's a different mentality in the civilian world than there is in the Military world

We tend even in the financial management world to use words that we won't probably use in the civilian world

Changed his mentality in managing his career

Get to an organization that's ether veteran-friendly or clearly looks at the value the veterans bring

The training and leadership skills that you learned in the Military you can help you be successful if you can change and adapt in the civilian world

Build out your career and when you get to the senior-level position, you can lean back to your Military experiences to kind of give you more of an edge

Failures as just as important as the successes

Seek other veterans in an organization so you can build that brother and sisterhood up

We got to look out for each other because there's not many of us
