(00:02):
Today we've reached a specialmilestone, and that is the final
episode in our balancedmotherhood series and the season
finale of season four of theViva LA Podcast.
Over the past seven episodes,we've been On a journey
together, exploring the keyelements that help us create a
(00:25):
mahood experience that feelsauthentic, intentional, and of
course balanced.
From reclaiming our time tobreaking harmful cycles, we've
covered so much ground and I'vebeen overwhelmed by your
messages sharing how theseconversations have resonated
with you.
(00:47):
Bueno.
Today I want to bring everythingtogether and help you see how
all of these pieces create acohesive approach to mahood that
honors both your heritage andyour vision for your family's
future.
I.
Plus, I have some excitingannouncements to share about how
(01:08):
you can continue this journeywith me and what's coming up
next for the podcast.
But before we dive in, I want toinvite you to join me for a
special open house event OnMonday, April 28th at 7:00 PM
Central Time via Zoom.
This is your chance to connectdirectly with me, ask any
(01:29):
questions you have aboutbalanced motherhood and meet
other mamas who are on the samejourney as you.
I'll share more details abouthow to register at the end of
the episode, but mark yourcalendars now.
It's going to be amazing Muhi, let's dive into today's season
finale, and celebrate how farwe've come.
(02:57):
All right, so let's take amoment to reflect on the journey
we've been together through thisbalanced motherhood series.
Each episode has focused on akey element of creating a
motherhood experience that feelsaligned with who you truly are.
We first started with reclaimingour time, acknowledging that as
(03:17):
Latina moms, we often puteveryone else's needs before our
own.
We talked about identifying ourtime vampires, setting
boundaries around our schedules, and being intentional about how
we spend our precious hours.
Then we explored self-care andchallenging the notion that
(03:38):
taking care of ourselves issomehow selfish.
So we discuss how self-careisn't just bubble baths and
manicures, but a fundamentalpractice of honoring our needs
so we can show up fully for thepeople we love.
Then we talked aboutrediscovering our passions
beyond motherhood, and that isreconnecting with the interests.
(04:01):
Dreams and activities that lightus up as individuals.
So many of you messaged me afterthat episode, sharing how you'd
started painting again or signedup for a yoga class, or simply
carved out time to read a bookthat you've been wanting to
enjoy.
We then explored settingboundaries with our familia,
(04:25):
which might have been one of ourmost impactful discussions.
We acknowledged how challengingit can be in our cultura to say
no to family expectations whilestill honoring those precious
relationships.
We also discussed breakingharmful cycles and how to honor
(04:45):
our heritage while consciouslychoosing not to carry forward
patterns that causes harm, thatcause harm.
That episode touched so many ofyou who are working to parent
differently than the way thatyou were parented without losing
your cultural connection aswell.
And most recently we talkedabout aligning your values with
(05:07):
your parenting approach, andthat is getting clear on what
truly matters to you, andcreating a parenting style that
reflects those authentic valuesrather than inherited
expectations.
So what ties all theseconversations together is a
simple but powerful truth thatyou deserve, a motherhood
(05:28):
experience that feels authenticto you, not what your mama
expects, not what social mediasays you should be doing, not
what your URA dictates, but amotherhood journey that honors
your unique blend of heritagevalues.
Circumstances and dreams.
(05:49):
And so as I reflect on all themessages I've received from you
throughout the series and onInstagram, after posting about
these podcast episodes, I noticea common thread.
So many of us are navigatingreally hard questions of
identity as Latina moms we'reasking ourselves.
(06:14):
How do I honor the beautifulaspects of how I was raised
while breaking free from theharmful patterns?
How do I create my ownmotherhood journey when I don't
see many examples that look.
Like what I'm trying to build.
How do I balance culturalexpectations with my own needs
(06:36):
and values?
And so if you're asking thesequestions too, I want you to
know that this tension you'refeeling isn't a sign that you're
doing something wrong.
In fact, it's actually evidencethat you're doing the incredibly
important work of creating a newlegacy for your familia.
(06:57):
You're standing at a powerfulintersection, and that is
between generations, betweencultures, between the way things
have always been done and theway you envision they could be.
This position gives you a uniqueperspective and the opportunity
to be intentional about what youcarry forward and what you leave
(07:20):
behind.
And so this is exactly why Icreated balanced motherhood
because I saw so many of usstruggling with these same.
Questions often in isolation.
I wanted to create a space wherewe could navigate these complex
identity questions together withguidance, support, and.
(07:44):
And so let me share what I'veseen happen for mamas who
embrace the balanced motherhoodapproach we've been discussing
throughout the series.
They move from feelingoverwhelmed By these certain
expectations to feelingconfident in their own
intentional choices.
They shift from parenting onautopilot, repeating patterns
(08:08):
they experience growing up toparenting with purpose based on
their authentic values.
They transform from feeling tornbetween cultural traditions and
modern approaches to creating abeautiful integration that
honors both.
This transformation doesn'thappen overnight.
And it's not a journey.
(08:28):
You have to walk alone becauseisolation is.
Shouldn't even be part of theequation here.
I've seen these transformations, not just in my own life, but in
the lives of so many mamas I'vehad the privilege of working
with through balance, motherhood, women just like you,
who were tired of feeling caughtbetween worlds and ready to
(08:52):
create your own path.
So if you're feeling the weightof like trying to be the perfect
Latina mom while also trying tobreak cycles and create
something new for your familia,I want you to know that there is
another way you can create amotherhood experience that feels
balanced, authentic, and joyful.
(09:13):
And I would be honored to showyou how.
And so today is an especiallyexciting day because the doors
to my signature program balancedmotherhood are officially open.
