Is the deep state a myth or a menacing reality? Prepare to be challenged as we uncover the stunning revelations in "Deep State Gangsters," a gripping documentary streaming exclusively on Salem Now. Directed by Frank X. Panico, this eye-opening film draws inspiration from the book "The Broken Whistle: A Deep State Run Amok" and features an ensemble of fearless whistleblowers, including former CIA officer John Kiriakou. Their stories expose the dark underbelly of governmental power, laying bare the systemic weaponization of national security agencies like the CIA and FBI against those who dare to dissent.

Join us for an in-depth conversation as we spotlight John Kiriakou's courageous journey. Despite facing severe repercussions for revealing the CIA's torture program, Kiriakou's narrative serves as a testament to the resilience of truth-tellers. With additional insights from whistleblowers Garrett O'Boyle and Nate Cain, the episode sheds light on the chilling tactics used to silence voices of integrity. This discussion underscores an urgent call to action: safeguarding those who speak truth to power. Tune in to witness how these intertwined personal accounts paint a vivid picture of institutional abuse, and reflect on the pressing need to protect our society's courageous truth-tellers.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome again to the Voice of Righteousness broadcast
.
Today I want to talk about thefilm Deep State Gangsters.
The movie was released on 19November last week, Tuesday, on
Salem Now.
Salem Now is streaming it videoon demand on their local
channel and on their website.

(00:21):
You can look for it by justsimply going to Salem Now and
looking for Deep State GangstersNow.
This is a limited release onlyon Salem Now.
We're still working for anexpanded distribution.
More news to come as thathappens.
Now the film is making greatprogress in the film festival

(00:42):
circuit.
It has already won finalist forthe Around the World Film
Festival, Berlin.
The film has also been selectedby a few other film festivals
LA Film and Documentary Award,New York Film and Mayo Actor
Award, Los Angeles Movie andMusic Video Awards and the
London Liftoff Festival and Ialmost forgot also one in Paris.

(01:07):
Therefore, the goal is to makethis film a long-term success
rather than just a one-timewonder that goes out like a
rocket and falls flat.
We're looking to make this filma long-term success with a
sustained campaign through filmfestivals to get it in front of
people's eyes so that we can getthe message out.
And that brings me to thepurpose of this film.

(01:29):
This film is a documentaryfirst and foremost.
It's not an entertainment film.
The background to this film isvery simple.
A filmmaker, Frank X Panico fromX in the Sky Films.
He's done about a dozen movies.
He knows what he's doing.
He's a professionalcinematographer, producer,

(01:55):
editor, script writer,storyteller.
He approached me about doing amovie about my book, the Broken
Whistle, A Deep State Run Amok, and I immediately thought about
well, let's just not make itabout my own story, let's expand
this and let's bring on otherwhistleblowers.
I believe there's strength inunity and in numbers and, at the
same time, helping others whoneed help to be given a voice.

(02:17):
Therefore, we brought in JohnKiriakou, CIA whistleblower.
That makes two CIAwhistleblowers, John and I.
Rather than just concentrate onCIA, I decided that you know,
let's bring on FBIwhistleblowers and therefore we
brought in Garrett O'Boyle andNate Cain.

(02:38):
What we endeavor to do here isvery simple Rather than see one
case of reprisals against thewhistleblowers as an anomaly, by
bringing in three otherwhistleblowers, four total
whistleblowers two FBI, two CIA.
There is a common theme, acommon thread with our four
stories, and it's basically theweaponization of government

(03:01):
power against those who speak up.
Speak truth to power, dissent, bring truth to the light, the
abuse of that government powerto destroy us, to silence us, to
silence the truth tellers.
So the film is devoid of allconspiratorial nonsense.
The term deep state again isused in the context of the

(03:26):
national security bureaucracy,predominantly FBI, CIA,
intelligence community andrelated entities.
We use the term deep statebecause it's the most commonly
known term for it, but it's alsoknown as the administrative
state, the bureaucratic state, the national security

(03:46):
bureaucracy, the militaryindustrial complex and so forth.
And we use the term gangstersbecause that's exactly what
defines them as far as theabuses of power, Criminal-like,
mafia-like, gangster-typetactics to destroy us
whistleblowers.
Now to me, the star of the filmis John Kiriakou, the CIA

(04:09):
counterterrorism officer whowent public with the CIA torture
program and he suffered greatlyas a result of what he publicly
disclosed, which actually theDepartment of Justice
investigated, as you will hearin his story, and determined
that he did not disclose anysecrets, that he did not

(04:34):
disclose any secrets.
However, eventually JohnBrennan, the former director of
the CIA, who at the time wasworking at the White House,
decided to have John Kiriakoucharged, and I cannot tell you
the story or else I will spoilit, but you'll have to hear it
and the point is that you willhear from each of us in this
film our first-hand stories asfar as what we witnessed and

(04:55):
what happened to us when wespoke up.
And that is the point of thisfilm, so that you can get a
first-hand perspective of what,John Kiriakou, I, experienced
with the CIA and what GarrettO'Boyle and what Nate Cain
experienced through their actsof blowing the whistle as far as

(05:15):
in their field, the FBI.
Now, there's an importantdimension here.
Our stories individually, without adding some context to
it, some commentary, may notmean anything as far as bringing
in that common thread and thattheme.

(05:36):
We have two color commentators JMichael Waller, a policy
analyst, a former Reaganadministration official, who's
very familiar with intelligenceissues and he wrote a book, the
Big Intel.
He brings in quite a bit ofhistorical context on the FBI,
the CIA and its transformationin our modern day.

(05:58):
Similarly, a veteran journalist, Lee Smith, who has written
books, many articles and he'sdone other movies, been in other
movies.
He brings a lot of expertcommentary on the weaponization
of government power to silencedissent.
Without these two colorcommentators we really wouldn't
have much of a film and we thankthem for their willingness to

(06:21):
step up and speak on our behalf, the whistleblowers.
Now, the film is a little long119 minutes but the reality is
that it has to be that lengthbecause there's quite a bit of
storytelling and background andalso what we witnessed firsthand
, the four of us and that colorcommentary.

(06:43):
So it it needs to be thatlength.
It cannot be shortened.
Another thing is we reallycan't separate this and turn it
into four different parts ofeach of us individually telling
our stories, Because the film isdesigned in a way that it goes

(07:15):
back and forth between each andamong all of the whistleblowers,
between the CIA, between theFBI and among us.
Now, Frank did a marvelous jobof putting this together so that
it flows and it continues tobuild up until the climax.
And on that note, now the filmhas basically what you can
consider a prologue at the verybeginning and it does have an
epilogue.
I can't tell you what those arebecause I will spoil it.
You'll have to see it and rightfrom the get-go, with that

(07:38):
prologue, you'll get the tone ofexactly what this film is about
.
And more importantly is, whatdoes it mean?
I mean, again, destroyingdissent to preserve power.
The tagline and the title DeepState Gangsters that tells you
where this is going, as far aswhat it means, and it's that

(08:00):
weaponization of governmentpower that has become a national
security problem of epicproportions to our
constitutional republic.
And therefore there is a needto bring awareness of this issue
, and we do so with ourfirst-hand experiences and the
expert color commentary and then, ultimately, as an activation,

(08:21):
to activate the listeners tobegin to become active in the
political arena in any form thatthey can.
Voting is one example, butother than that, holding the
political personas accountableis another, and so forth.
Like I said, I wanted to keepthis short.
I don't need to go on and onand on.

(08:41):
The Bottom Line is a veryprofessional film.
It is extremely well done.
We have tested it with people.
Recently, there was a group ofsix individuals who saw the film
and not a single person spoke.
They literally had their eyesglued on the TV, watching this
film from beginning to end 119minutes.

(09:03):
The film does have an IMDb entry, so I ask you please, if you do
watch the film, please do go toIMDb.
You can look up IMDb films.
Look for Deep State Gangsters.
Go in there and give the moviea rating.
We would really appreciate that.
Now I plan to bring furtherupdates as they develop, but for

(09:27):
now this is a soft launch,Limited release.
We're still working the filmfestivals hard.
I hope to have a really hardlaunch, A broader launch of the
film festivals hard.
I hope to have a really a hardlaunch, a broader launch of the
film sometime early next year.
We're looking to have a widedistribution, not just
nationally but internationally.

(09:48):
For now, we're grateful SalemNow has released the film and we
ask you to please go to theSalem Now website and watch the
film and pass the word to allyour family members, colleagues,
friends, whoever can help bywatching the film and again
leaving a rating in IMDB.
Thank you so much for listeningto this message.
