CitiPark's Bach, Beethoven, and Brunch is starting soon! The Pittsburgh Youth Concert Orchestra (PYCO) is starting it off on June 22nd. Executive Director of PYCO, Pablo Ardiles, and three students, Bailey Nolan (violin), Ainsley Anderson (viola), and Kyronessa Avotri (cello), talk about the concert. Bach, Beethoven, and Brunch is a free Sunday morning concert series at Mellon Park with live classical music. This is the first time PYCO will be performing! Pablo highlights the program for the concert, which is divided into two sets. The first set features classical pieces such as Vivaldi's "Flute Concerto", and Florence Price's "Adoration". The second set features more popular music, such as an ABBA medley, "Uptown Funk", Top Gun, and a Star War's medley. In total, there will be 37 musicians on stage for the full chamber orchestra! Bailey talks about her passion for violin since kindergarten, and her plans to study music education in college. Ainsley talks about her love of the viola, and enjoys playing Piazzola's "Liebertango" the most. She will be volunteering at UPMC this summer. Kyronessa started playing cello in the fourth grade, and is looking forward to working on Phantom of the Opera this summer. Finally, Pablo also talks about PYCO's upcoming summer camp, which runs June 16th-20th for middle and high school students. Bailey is looking forward to mentoring during the camp. You can hear Pittsburgh Youth Concert Orchestra perform in the first Bach, Beethoven, and Brunch concert on June 22nd at 10:30 am.
