What is Coming Up For Front Porch Theatricals 2025 Season

It is another season of Front Porch Theatricals! Producer Nancy Zionts, and actresses Saige Smith and Becki Toth, talk about the upcoming 2025 season of Front Porch Theatricals. Nancy talks about the backstory of Front Porch, a Pittsburgh-based professional theater company founded in 2009. Their mission is to produce two meaningful musicals each year showcasing exclusively local talent, both on and off stage. The two shows this year are "Baby" and "Sunday in the Park with George" both on Broadway in 1984. Saige and Becki play roles in both musicals! Saige talks about portraying Lizzie, a young blind college student who suddenly becomes pregnant in her junior year. Becki plays Arlene, a middle-aged woman who unexpectedly becomes pregnant after raising four daughters. Both talk about the themes of this show, and how beautiful the process has been. They also highlight their wonderful director, Kirstiann Menotiades, who is the only mother on the team. In "Sunday in the Park with George", Becki plays Yvonne and Blair, while Saige plays Dot and Marie. This Stephen Sondheim musical takes its inspiration from a Georges Seruat painting, and spans two eras of artists. Becki talks about performing in a show with her students from University of Pittsburgh, and Saige emphasizes the family-like community among everyone at Front Porch.
