On this episode, Nellie discusses the concept of being "unbothered Nellie," emphasizing the importance of maintaining a calm and proactive mindset. She highlights the benefits of the 24-hour unbothered challenge, noting that she has not had to restart due to her intentional and proactive approach. Despite challenges, such as dealing with car issues and managing responsibilities as a mom and business owner, Nellie stresses the value of not letting small problems affect her peace of mind. She advocates for delegating tasks, focusing on what truly matters, and making conscious choices to stay positive and productive.

We will touch on:

You liked unhinged Nelly,
but un bothered Nelly is on awhole another level, because I
feel like unhinged Nelly. She'sspicy, she's fun. She says like,
she says, what's on her mind, and allow it into her, her

(00:30):
world,right? Like unhinged Nelly
is gonna, like, step up, speakup,
say what's on her mind, which, there's
a time and a place for unhingedNelly, but, but I feel like
unbothered Nelly is just a superchill vibe, like, I like, just

(00:53):
think it's amazing. So hi, I'munbothered. I think I can just
go into the real world, likethis or like this. Hello, not
even my name. I'm just I, I'munbothered. You can't bother me.
Like as the Four Agreementsthing the as the Four Agreements

(01:16):
say,you know, don't, don't. Sweat
the Small Stuff. Don'tlet small stuff. Stuff bother
you. Don't take thingspersonally. I feel like that is
just truly like the unbotheredvibe is just, we're not going to
allow the the little stuff toeven get to us. Okay, so let's

(01:39):
talk about this, because it'snow 215 and I started at
technically, I think Boone wokeme up at three.

We'll just say 3 (01:56):
30am so I'm over. I'm almost at 12
hours. Okay, I'm almost at 12hours, and I'll be most likely
going to bed around like 9pmtonight. So like, sleeping still
counts, because you could stillbe bothered when you're
sleeping. So you know, Iprobably have about six. Let's

(02:19):
see here. Six to seven morehours left, and I'm going
strong. So the cool part aboutthe unbothered 24 hour
challenge, the personal growthchallenge, is you have to
restart. So I haven't had torestart. Knock on wood. I've
been so intentional, soproactive that I don't even

(02:40):
allow myself to go there. Whichthe cool part about this
personal growth challenge thisexperiment is that wealth loves
proactive energy. I have gottenmore done today and been so like
enjoying my own company, messybun and all right, but I've just

(03:03):
gotten so much done. Boone and Icuddled I knocked out some
packages. I had a great saleshuddle with Sarah. I've gotten
stuff done around the house. Idelegated my laundry to a
laundry service. You know, I didthings for insurance, because
there's a whole lot going onwith my car right now that I

(03:25):
could be bothered by, trust me,I have to go, I have to go clear
out my solely paid car today.
And I was, I think what promptedthe unbothered challenge is I
was really bummed by it, like,Is it fun to get into brand new

(03:46):
car? Yes, do it was I alsoplanning on buying a new car?
No. So there's lots to figureout there, and you have to move
really, really fast. So I'm justlast night. I was just like, You
know what? I'm choosing not tobe bothered by it. And I think
that's really what started allof this, because it was just

(04:08):
feeling so overwhelming. Andalso, I said this to myself, I
would rather buy this is thismay sound a little more morbid.
I'd much rather figure out howto buy a new car, then not be
here, right? Like, not have mykids here. I would much rather
be figuring out how to do a carthan plan a funeral. I can buy a

(04:31):
new car. It's just money, right?
Like, and so I've been doingtons of research. This is where
the ADHD comes into play,because I I'm a Research snob. I
research and research andresearch. I compare and compare
and compare, do pros and cons, lists galore, all the things so
the unbothered challenge, youknow, as a mom, as a business

(04:52):
owner, you you are in anenvironment that can. Feel so
overwhelming, you can bebothered by your kid climbing on
the table right now. How did youget up here?
If you're not careful, you can be bothered by your
body, right like it's not easyto grow babies and then lose the

(05:17):
weight and then grow morebabies, or, you know, whatever
it may be, us as women gothrough so much, physically,
mentally, emotionally,financially, like, that's just
simply being a mom, also being asignificant other, right? Like,
if you have a significant other,if you have other kids, right?

(05:37):
Like, taking care of ahousehold, all of these things.
Then you add in being a businessowner, right? Then you add in,
you know, if you have a day job,if you have a team, right? Like,
there's just so much that it'sso easy to be bothered and it
like it is normal, and I teachsomething called the blah ladder

(06:02):
versus the wealthy ladder. Andthen so, like, what I realized
is like, Yeah, I know how toeasily get myself off of the
wealthy ladder. But why would Ieven want to be there for a
minute, especially withsomething so silly, right? Like,
especially with something sosilly, why would I want to be on
the wealthy excuse me, why wouldI want to be on the blah ladder,

(06:24):
even for five minutes, fivehours, five days, like I don't
want to be on the wealthyladder. My brain not gonna be
bothered by that. Um, I don'twant to be on the blah ladder
more than I have to so beingproactive about not being on the
blah ladder is absolutely key,and it is a choice. This doesn't

(06:50):
mean that you're exempt fromblah things happening. You just
choose to see the silver lining.
You choose to ask for help. Youchoose the to be proactive. You
choose to to stand in yourpower. You choose to see the

(07:11):
good versus the blah. And youcan be in the same exact
situation and be on your wealthyladder versus your blah ladder.
And the vibe and the result isdifferent because of it. So.
So, yeah, I just wanted to dolike a check in. If
you are doing this funexperiment with me, feel free to

(07:31):
to check in below the proactiveenergy is just so huge, the more
proactive you can be in everycategory of your life, you will
be a very, very wealthy woman.
And it is a stair step approach, and it does take time. You know,
even when I was delegating thelaundry service today, I

(07:56):
started to notice myself feelingweird about it, because I'm,
like, I could totally do this, and also I don't have to. Just
because you can do somethingdoesn't mean you should do it or
have to do it. Like, we don'tget a medal for doing it all. We
don't get a medal for beingbothered, burn out, exhausted,

(08:17):
right, having our plate toofull. Like, I think it's just
really important that we enjoyour life, and we we impact other
people's lives, and we justtruly live every day to the
fullest as much as we can. Andbeing unbothered is a big piece
of that. Like, I wouldn't wantto remember my last day on the

(08:38):
earth being annoyed andfrustrated and silly stuff that
isn't going to matter, right?
Put your energy into the thingsand the people that actually
matter, that actually light youup, that you actually love, and
don't allow anyone else to tohave your energy, your precious,

(08:58):
precious energy, your precious, precious time. You don't have to
be in people's pleasing modeanymore. This is your permission
to be unbothered. Okay, I'msticking it on you right now.
Okay, there you go. Um, to putthis label on yourself. Take all
of the other labels off ofyourself that are not serving

(09:19):
you, and it is a choice, andit's a constant choice, but you
can do it. If I can do it, youcan do it. I really believe
that, because I'm just a momfrom Columbus, Ohio with
leggings, just wanting to changesome lives, including yours, and
I know that you deserve to enjoyyour life, and it is your

(09:44):
responsibility. Is it is aninside job for you to be happy,
so let's go be happy, and a bigpart of that is being
unbothered.
Okay? All right, check in you.
