Life is all about seasons.
There is winter, fall, springand summer, and it is a
continuous cycle.
But we can always grasp at asmall thing to remember, a small
thing that makes us smile.
There is no greater memory thanthe moment my children were
born.
It was the worst pain I've everexperienced, but as soon as the

(01:13):
baby is delivered, it's likethe pain vanishes and I forget
how bad the pain was, becausewhat I remember is the feeling
of seeing my babies for thefirst time.
That memory carries me throughthe good and bad times.
And, man, there are so manyother memories, but sometimes,

(01:37):
when we are in a winter or fallseason.
It's hard to remember.
That's why, today, I want youto write down a good memory, a
good moment, a good laugh thatyou can be grateful for.
So, when you are having thetime of your life, you never
forget the moments when you'rein the middle waiting season,

(01:59):
waiting for the next thing.
You can remember that this isjust a catalyst for what is good
to come.
And when we are in those valleyseasons, those tough seasons,
we can look back as a reminderthat these days don't last
always.

Stuff You Should Know
Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
