So, so good to have each andevery one of you here.
I got a question, and it was aquestion that was Kind of along

So I'm just going to go aheadand read the question Also.

(03:16):

reply back to the email or sendme a new one.
Hey, well, what about this partof it?
Right, but I love each andevery one of you.
Thank you all so much for yourquestions and today's question
and today's question, and I'mgoing to boil it all the way

(03:39):
down to the question itself.
The question itself is does Godreally care about what we do?
Question itself the questionitself is does God really care
about what we wear?
You know it's a short answer.
The absolute short answer isyes.
But how important is it?
How important is it that wewear what we're supposed to wear

(04:00):
?
And I get it.
A lot of people don't talk aboutthings like that.
A lot of churches don't preachabout things like that because
they just don't want to offendpeople.
And you just want to get peoplein the door, right.
So you get people in the doorand you sit them down and then
you don't.
Now you kind of got yourself ina little bit of a predicament
and you don't want them to leave.

(04:21):
So you don't start talkingabout things like this because
you know they will leave.
But the Bible is very clear onsome things, and this is one of
the things that the Bible isclear on and denominationalism.
We sort of get away with thatand it's not about what you wear

(04:44):
on certain days, it's about howyou dress every day, right?
So one of the first thingswe've noticed that when we look
at history, we look down throughhistory, we sort of see, like a
decay of modesty, where we wentfrom.
You look at our older pictures.
You look at the way society wasat that time.

(05:07):
You know it was.
They had some problems backthen, but one thing that they
always had.
They had modesty.
It doesn't matter whatsocioeconomic background you
came from, what color your skinwas.
You were dressed modestly, andI'm not saying we have to go
back to wear 45 layers ofclothing.

(05:29):
I'm saying we should be in amodest state.
Now, one of the things that wedon't really want to talk about
and we're just going to jumpright into it because scripture
is scripture, and we're justgoing to jump right into it
because scripture is scripture, and I also want to point out.
I also want to point out thatwhen we read scripture, we read

(05:57):
scripture always read a verse ortwo above, or a verse or two
below, because context is key.
I prefer you read the wholechapter, but it doesn't make
sense for us to take scriptureout of context and turn it into
what we want it to be.
So I'm going to read the sameverse of scripture out of two
translations.
Now, if you've been followingthis podcast, you've noticed
that I've started warming uptremendously towards the New

(06:19):
Living Translation, because itgives you the same sort of harsh
, no-nonsense language as theKing James Version, without all
the sugarcoating that some ofthe other versions have.
So let's start with Hosea 2 and3.
Now in the King James Version itsays Plead with your mother,

(06:41):
please, for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband.
Let therefore put away herwhoredoms out of her sight and
her adulteries from between herbreasts.
Now, if you wasn't ready forthat, that kind of hits you in
the face.
So we're talking about someonewho is talking to a child.

(07:04):
They're saying please with yourmother, please tell your mother
not to do this and to get ridof these things.
And in the New LivingTranslation it gets even worse.
But now and this is the sameone Now call Israel to account,
for she is no longer my wife andI am no longer her husband.

(07:26):
Tell her to take off her garishmakeup and suggestive clothing
and stop playing the prosecutor.
Now, wait a minute, wait aminute, wait a minute.
Do you mean to tell me thatwomen are not supposed to dress
suggestively?
Well, I mean, here's the thing.

(07:48):
Here's the thing.
It actually works out betterfor us this way, even though
we've been kind of groomed bysociety and our normal modern
day things that you know we candress how we want to dress.
The weirdest thing I see, because I go to the gym now.

(08:10):
I've been going to the gym nowfor I don't know off and on for
about a year, and I mean moreoff than on.
But one thing I've noticed, like I enjoy now going in the
middle of the night, why?
Because when you go to the gymand it's during the day, you
have everyone there dressinghowever they feel like they want

(08:31):
to dress.
And I mean you got guys and yougot their their stringed out
t-shirts on with everything out,and you know, they got the
ladies with these new workoutgear and everything's all tight,
lifted up and just perfect.
And so we used to go to the gymin sweats and of course, that

(08:54):
did everything, but we knew whatwe were doing.
We were working out andsweating and we were getting
what we.
But now we're going.
It's almost like we're goingthere to show off, right, that's
not very modest, but now it'salmost like we're going there to
show off.
That's not very modest.
I can tell whether you haveunderwear or not.
That's not very modest.
And so then we got into thissituation because guys are wired

(09:17):
the way they are, women arewired the way they are, where
women have been literallyvideoing, videotaping or
snapchatting or instagrammingthese guys looking at them when
they actually dressed up to belooked at.
This is this is sort of aconfusion here, but I'm using

(09:38):
this as a small microcosm of howwe are doing, and then now you
go along with the same the menfor being how god made us,
because god made us to be turnedon or attracted by sight, and
women to be attracted by emotion, so or, or you know, a feeling
or or mentality.
So, and I, I know I'm kind ofgetting off subject here, but

(10:02):
this is why modesty is important.
It keeps everything in line.
So, yeah, does god care aboutwhat we wear?
Absolutely, and that's just onesubject, and the other thing
that we're going to talk aboutreal quick would be we just have
a little bit of time today.

(10:23):
Um, we're going to talk aboutsomething that a lot of people
don't want to talk about.
We talk about I've heard itsaid a lot about makeup and
Jezebel, and, besides Hosea, that is really the only other

(10:43):
time we've seen a situationwhere a woman has put on makeup.
Now, please understand, pleaseunderstand what I am saying to
you right now.
Jj doesn't care if you wearmakeup.
It's not about what JJ thinks, because, believe it or not, I

(11:04):
mean you like a woman with somenice makeup on.
This is what we are designed todo.
We are designed to like.
And if you do this in theprivacy of your own home, that
is a completely different thingversus you doing it outside to
attract someone else.
Or you want to look pretty forsomeone else, because that's

(11:28):
usually the excuse that we get.
Well, I just want to lookpretty for someone else, because
that's usually the excuse thatwe get.
Well, I just want to lookpretty, I just want to look
beautiful.
You want to look beautiful towho?
Another woman?
Well, there's some confusionthere.
Or to another man.
That's also confusion there, because the moment that the man
says, hey're beautiful, you haveto say either I'm married or
you've opened the door toadultery.
Or if a woman says that, hey,I'm straight, or you just opened

(11:52):
the door to adultery andhomosexuality, once you've
opened that door, the devil's inthere.
So and I'm not saying we haveto walk around with sour faces,
so, and I'm not saying we haveto walk around with sour faces,
but I'm saying that we can't wecan't open the door and then get
weirded out when the devil isin there.

(12:13):
We can't get weirded out.
And then, when the devil movesin and sets up his you know,
sets up his playstation and thenwe try to figure out how we get
him out.
That's, that's kind of bad.
So we, a lot of this stuff isreally sort of preventative.
So it's again that's not to sayand I've I've heard people

(12:35):
preach this it's not to say whatyou do in your home for your
own spouse.
That's a completely differentthing.
If you are a wife and yourhusband likes, when you wear
those shorts, wear those shortsin the house, that's fine.
If you're a husband and yourwife likes to see your muscles

(12:58):
out when you walk around thehouse, walk around with the
muscles out, walk around withthe tight underwear on, whatever
, that's because you're doing itfor your spouse.
You're doing it and you'rekeeping it in the proper context
.
You're keeping it in themarriage, you're keeping it in
the home.
You're not trying to attractanyone.

(13:21):
If you want to, I mean, that'sjust the way, that's just the
best way to keep it, the bestway to explain it and that's not
to say again, I'm your pastor,I'm not.
But if you want to do thatstuff, that's kind of like the
only place to do it.
Because the Bible does say thatmarriage bread is undefiled.
So it doesn't make sense tolike, well, I can't wear this

(13:44):
stuff outside, I can't wear thisstuff inside.
It's not, that doesn't make anysense Biblically, it does not
make any sense, right?
But as far as when you're out, you're presenting yourself to
the world, you're presentingyourself to the world, you're
presenting yourself to God, youare, we are we, we are to be
modest.
We should be fully dressed andwe should be modest.

(14:07):
Now, that's not to say youcan't wear nice clothes.
Please don't get this twisted, because a lot of people will
twist it and say, well, you knowfine apparel.
But I'll tell you what.
Let's's read the script.
Uh, exodus 33 and 4.
Now I'm going to read this outof the king james version, and
then I'm going to read out theliving translation, 33 and 4.

(14:29):
And when the people heard theseevil tidings which is a, which
is a judgment?
Right?
They were getting judged by god.
I was hey, I'm about to judgeyou because you guys did all
this stuff.
When the people heard theseevil tidings, they mourned, and
no man did put on him hisornaments.
By his ornaments they meant hisjewelry For the Lord had said

(14:50):
unto Moses, say unto thechildren of Israel you are a
stiff-necked people.
I will come up into the midstof you in a moment and consume
thee.
Therefore, now, put off yourNow.
The New Living Translation addssomething to this.
It says the people heard thesestern words.

(15:20):
They went into mourning andstopped wearing their jewelry
and fine clothes, but the Lordhad told Moses to tell them you
are a stubborn and rebelliouspeople.
If I were to travel with youfor even a moment, I would
destroy you, remove your jewelryand fine clothes while I decide
what to do with them.
From that time, they left MountSinai.
This was just like more normaljewelry and more fine clothes.

(15:49):
So we have to be we kind of haveto be careful about it, because
why did God tell them to dothat?
Why did God tell them to dothat?
What had they gotten themselvesinto to where the first thing

(16:09):
God said was put off yourornament?
Because and this is just out ofthe book of Deja there's
something about when they hadthose ornaments on they must
have thought, they must havegotten way out of box, they must
have gotten themselves reallyrebellious and something had to

(16:32):
have happened.
And each time there will beother times we will talk about
this, more scripture.
But each time the children ofIsrael started to repent of
something, the first thing theydid was take off their jewelry.
Now I also heard it preachedwhere, well, god told them to do

(16:53):
that, because the last firsttime they took off their jewelry
, they made a bowl of cow fodderand so they were sanctifying
themselves unto the calf.
Now, that is an interestingtheory and it makes sense,
because they actually sacrificedthemselves, or sacrificed their
belongings, to make this goldencalf.

(17:15):
It makes sense, but I have tostudy that out a little bit more
to actually get on board withthat.
But what I do know is that theytook everything off and then
they made this golden calf.
Now God got upset at this andevery time he, you know, was

(17:35):
going to make a judgment on them, he would say, hey, you guys
need to repent, you guys need toget this jewelry off you.
So I can just think about whatI'm going to do.
Like it aggravated, god was soangry, like he was in a fury
mode where he he really was.
Like you know, when we get our,we make our parents mad and our

(17:58):
parents don't really just wantto come down with the judgment
right away, they want to thinkof a fitting punishment.
They say get out of my face andgo in your room, god, think
about what you did.
Mainly, only, what they'redoing is they're giving them a
bit of a reprieve so that theycan calm down and not come in

(18:18):
here and do bad things.
They want the punishment fortheir crime.
And I think at this point inExodus, this is where Moses had
come down with the tablet, andthen there was the golden calf

(18:39):
and people died.
People died in Exodus 32 andExodus 33.
Well, exodus 32, because that'swhen Moses came down with the
tablets.
And this is the context wherewe were at and Moses had to go
back to God and say hey, youknow, these people sinned and
they made them gods of gold.
They worshiped the gold andwhen God decided, god sort of

(19:06):
saw that they were worshipingthe gold itself and the things
that he created rather than thecreator himself, he really got
angry about it.
So God said to Moses you know, whoever sins with me, I'm going
to blot them out of the book, take their name out of the book.

(19:27):
They're no longer going to bemy people, they're no longer
going to be who I saved fromEgypt.
So now he was going to send.
He was going to send a bigangel and they were just going
to wipe out everybody whoworshipped the golden calf.
Now this was actually taughtbefore the law was in action.

(19:51):
Let's go to Genesis 35, 2through 4.
Again, we're going to read itfirst in the New Living
Translation and then we're goingto read it first in the New
Living Translation and thenwe're going to read it in the
King James Version.
That's going to be Genesis 2,sorry, 35, 2 and 4.
Alright, so in the New LivingTranslation it says so Jacob

(20:15):
told everyone in his householdGet rid of all all your pagan
idols, purify yourself and puton clean clothing.
They'll.
Now we have a mention ofclothing.
We are now going to bethel, where I will build an altar to
god, who answered my prayerswhen I was in distress.
He has been with me wherever Ihave gone.

(20:36):
So here's verse 4.
So they gave the stakes of alltheir pagan idols and he buried
them under the great tree in hisstatue.
Now let's read it out of theKing James Version.
And Jacob said unto hishousehold and to all that were
with him Put away the strangegods that are among you, which
are the idols, and be clean andchange their garments and let us

(21:01):
strange gods that are among youand be clean and change your
garments and let us arise to goto Bethel and I will make thee
an altar there, unto God, whoanswered me in the day of my
distress and was with me whichway I went.
And verse 4, they gave us toJacob all the strange gods which
were in their hand and alltheir earrings which were in
their ears, and Jacob hid themunder the oak tree by such.

(21:25):
So there we have it again, taking off the jewelry as a form
of sanctification.
This was absolutely done beforethe law was given in exodus and
deuteronomy and leviticusicus.
So this is going to be arecurring theme.
This is not just one thing thathappened, but we don't want to
preach that today and we don'twant to talk about that today

(21:48):
because it is uncomfortable.
It's uncomfortable when youlook out there and you see
people and they're decked out.
They got bracelets on and theygot this on and that on, and you
tell them that and they'redecked out.
They got bracelets on and thison and that on.
You tell them that and they getmad at you.
But here's the thing.
It's not.
I didn't write it.
I read it to you out of twotranslations, and both

(22:12):
translations said pretty muchexactly the same thing Be modest
.
One of the things about beingmodest is not about being flashy
, and that's what jewelry is.
It's flashy.
Now, wait a minute.
What about gold watches?
Well, here's the thing Now.

(22:34):
I don't wear me personally.
I don't wear gold watches.
There are some leather bandwatches I wear, maybe, but I
have a phone.
If I need to find out what timeit is, I can put it on.
I know people have these smartwatches now that give you their
health readout and stuff likethat.

(22:55):
You can still do that modestlytoo.
You can still do that modestlytoo.
You can still do that.
Well, jj.
And here's where another one ofthe questions came in.
Jj, what about wedding rings?
I do not wear a wedding ring.
I am married, but I do not weara wedding ring only because
that wedding ring does not makeme married.

(23:15):
As a matter of fact and this isjust anecdotal, I don't know if
this is true or not, but itseemed like when I wore a
wedding ring, I got in moretrouble than when I didn't wear
a wedding ring.
Why?
Because women of the world onlywant people that are wanted.
They don't want people who arenot wanted.

(23:36):
So, without a wedding ring, itseemed like I got into less
trouble.
That's just me, I don't know.
I, this is not scientific, thisis not um, and he's wearing the
bible, where you should not weara wedding ring.
I've I've seen people wearwedding rings.
Just god told me not, it's just, it just seemed to me how it
works.
Now I thought about yeah, I sawsome jade wedding rings.

(24:02):
I thought about it.
It's just, god has not allowedme to get past that conviction.
This is a personal conviction.
Y'all out of the book of JJ,remember?
I told you we talked about acouple weeks ago about
convictions.
As long as it doesn'tcontradict the Bible, it's fine.
So if I let's just say I had aconviction about that, I should

(24:26):
wear a jewelry.
And then I look at all thesethings and it says where the
people didn't wear jewelry andthat would be sort of
contradictory.
If I had a conviction about notbeing baptized in Jesus' name,
that would be contradictory ofcontradictory.
If I had a conviction about notbeing baptized in Jesus' name,
that would be contradictory tothe word of God.
So I'd have to actually weighmy conviction so that there

(24:48):
would not be any contradiction.
Weigh your conviction.
That sounds pretty good.
Weigh your conviction and therewill be no contradiction.
Weigh your conviction.
There won't be anycontradiction, right?
So just be careful, folks.
All I'm doing is presenting theBible.
I know some people are going tostop listening to me after this

(25:10):
, after this section here, outof modesty and how to dress and
stuff like that.
People are going to stoplistening to me and I'm okay
with that.
I didn't write the Bible.
The only thing I could do issay, hey, this is what it says,
right, and you can talk to yourpastor about it.
I'm not a pastor yet.
I say yet.

(25:33):
There might be some thingshappening, but the only thing I
could do is just give you whatthe word of God is and
understanding that when we go upto heaven, we're going to be
judged by the things that arewritten in the books, not what
you heard on JJ's podcast, notwhat you heard on Walk With Me,
not what you heard at so-and-sochurch on the corner of

(25:55):
so-and-so and so-and-so,so-and-so church.
That's on the corner, so-and-so, so-and-so, not, you know, the
first strike-pole church of thebarbershop.
That's not what we're going tobe judged about.
We're going to be judged aboutwhat's written in the secretion
book.
Now I would rather be in aposition to say, oh wow, I
didn't know that, let me fixthat while I'm alive, and

(26:16):
getting up to heaven when it'stoo late and saying, oh my god,
I didn't know that.
And god said well, ignorance isno excuse for the law.
It gave me the book for therest of my life.
I'm just saying I'm.
I'm just saying I know thatsounds mean.
People call me spirit, I don'tcare, it is what it is.
I didn't write it and I'mtelling you this.

(26:38):
This whole podcast, remember nowthis whole podcast.
I love y'all.
Okay, I love y'all, and I want,I want to go to heaven and I
want as many people as possibleto go to heaven.
That's, that's right.
All right, with that being said, we are going to talk about it

(27:03):
more next week.
All right, god bless you all.
Love you all.
Have a great holiday season.
We've had a great Christmas.
Have a great New Year's.
Tell somebody you love them.
Tell somebody Jesus loves them.
That's probably the only goodthing that they've heard that
day.
All right, love you all.
See y'all on the next one.
Bye.
