It's not uh if you know how theysay in the in in the word in the
secular sense that if there's nosuch thing as a stupid question,
(01:03):
well, I kind of believe that wayit the same thing in the Bible
when it comes to biblicalthings.
Um now I will say that that ifif you're one of those people
who just want to debatesomething, listen, I'll uh thank
you all.
Thank you, thank you for likingand sharing and telling other
(01:24):

And again, I am glad to haveeach one of you here.
We're gonna get right into itbecause we have a lot to cover
today.
We have a lot to cover.
(01:44):
So, if this is your first uhforay into our end time Bible
study, I'm just gonna do you aquick recap.
That the thing we have toremember when we're talking
about the end time, we'retalking about end time
prophecies and things of thatnature.
Everybody wants to run toRevelation, and Revelation is
good, but there's also anotherbook, a sister book, a companion
(02:07):
book, and that book is the bookof Daniel.
So we are going to today we'regonna talk about the same things
you're gonna see in Revelation, but Daniel is looking at it as
it happened in to the future, whereas John, John the
Revelator, is looking at it asif it happened in the past.
(02:29):
So uh today we're gonna spend alittle bit of time in Daniel
chapter 8, verses 1 through 15.
I'm not sure I'm gonna getthrough all of it today, uh, but
this is where we this is ourgoal, okay.
So please understand that thissection, this section of the
book of Daniel is a vision thatwas given to Daniel in the third
(02:55):
year in which Belshazzar was theking of the Medes and the
Persians having when God hadwrote on the wall, because
Belshazzar had that party.
We talked about it a coupleweeks ago.
And God came and wrote thatphrase on the wall, and next
thing you know, the Medes andthe Persians was tearing Babylon
in half.
(03:16):
So this is right about that sametime, that same year that this
happened, Daniel got a visionfrom God.
And um and Daniel was still aslave in Babylon, and this could
preach for a minute because wealways think just because we
heard from God that everything'sgonna be okay, that everything
we asked for, we're gonna getfrom God.
(03:37):
And this is not not even Danielhad that same um outcome.
He was still in Babylon, theywere still Israel was still
enslaved, and but God gave uhDaniel a provision, and he was
transported to what was calledthe River Uli, which is in the
(03:58):
province of Shushan, which isthe chief city of Elam.
Now, Shushan became one of theseprincipal cities of the Medes
and Persians, and this entirestate, there's the entire book
of Esther, as a matter of fact, took place in that city of
Shushan.
So this is all intertwinedtogether.
(04:18):
And I did a lot of times we takewe take a book here, we take a
book there, we want to pull itout, and when we do that, we
sort of um uh uh minimize, diminish the word of God.
This is the same city where uhEsther got her name in the
Bible, right?
So we're gonna start off withwhat we all like to talk about
(04:42):
these four beasts.
The first beast was a ram withtwo horns.
Now, this ram, biblicallyspeaking, represented those
kings of Medes and the Persians.
Now, this is gonna be in Daniel8 and 20.
Now I'll read it for you.
Oh, yes, we do have uh we dohave a rule about this podcast.
(05:07):
When we talk about scripture,uh, we always want to read the
verse or two above or the verseor two below, but preferably the
whole chapter, because contextis key.
Alright, I just covered maybeone or two verses, uh, but I
just want to make sure that wedon't take anything out of
context because we'll screw theup, screw up the whole thing,
(05:28):
actually.
And if that language is tootough, I'm sorry, but we'll just
mess it up.
We'll mess up the Bible, we'lljust totally destroy the meaning
of it, and then we get ledastray.
And this is where um thequestion came because of the
whole rapture thing.
So let me not get off in theweezer.
This it's gonna be Daniel 8 and20.
Remember uh a verse or two belowand a verse or two above, but
(05:52):
preferably the whole chapter.
Alright, so 8 and 20.
Remember, these ram representsthe kings of means and persians,
and and that reads, the ramwhich thou sawest having two
horns are the kings of Medes andPersians.
So we start noticing somethinghere.
(06:13):
The horns, for some reason, willalways represent uh a king or a
leader or something of thatnature, right?
And the body, the animal, willrepresent something else, not
necessarily a country, but moreor less a kingdom.
(06:33):
But I don't want to get too farahead of myself.
So here we have the ram with twohorns, had uh the kings of me's
in the Persian.
Now it's it's very simple and asignificant thing to understand
that the Mede-Persian Empire, the national symbol of that was
a ram.
Daniel saw that second horn thatwas higher than the first, and
(06:57):
it came up last.
So in the beginning, uh whenthey all when the Medes and the
Persians became a thing, theMedian Empire was stronger than
the Persian Empire.
But gradually, Persia became uhthe number one, the top dog, the
big boy on the block.
We hear a lot about Persians.
(07:17):
We hear about uh Persians and inyou know cinematic movies like
the 300.
So these are these are the samePersians, right?
Now, moving on, we're gonna havewhat what the Daniel referred to
as the he goat.
Now, what is the he-goat?
The he-goat is sort of a ram,but it's not a ram like you just
(07:40):
heard.
Now, the he-goat is just a malegoat, and male goat will also
have what?
So that eagle came from the westand traveled very fast.
It attacked the ram with hugepower and anger and dude and
beat it.
Now, this e-goat would have tohave been Greece.
(08:04):
Now, who what if you've beenlistening to the podcast?
I've kind of mentioned thembefore.
Who was that Greecian leader?
That's right.
Alexander the Great.
Alexander the Great tore apartthe means of the Persian Empire,
he destroyed them with nobody's,like nobody's business.
And and matter of fact, um, hewas Alexander had the idea that
(08:31):
he was going to conquer theknown world.
The only problem is he didn'trealize that there was a world
south of the Sahara Desert.
I mean, history would have beena lot different if he had just
kept going south a little bit.
So, um, and then after uh afterhe conquered the Medes and the
Persians, and he thought he, youknow, conquered the known world,
(08:54):
he got he got he lived high onthe hog, he got drunk, he
started living a life ofrobotry, and then he died at 32
years old.
32.
He did all that, conquered theknown world, and then died at 32
years old.
And he had already been in powerfor 12 years and eight months.
(09:14):
This is Alexander the Great wetalk about.
Now, this lesson, this is alesson too, that the four
generals that came after thatwill be who divided Alexander
the Great's kingdom after hedied.
Now, I I know I'm a littlemoving a little faster because I
(09:34):
want to get to these four beastsin this episode.
So, what's the next one?
The next one is called thelittle horn.
The next vision is called theNiddlehorn, and they're gonna
call that a beast.
And you're gonna see whymomentarily.
Now, of these four divisions, these four horns that rose up,
(09:57):
uh, there is gonna be anotherlittle horn that's gonna become
exceedingly great towards thesouth and east, and it's called
the and towards what it'sreferred to as the pleasant
land.
Now, that pleasant land, biblically speaking, is
Palestine.
We call it Palestine, however, there is no such comfort as
(10:18):
Palestine.
The land was called Palestine.
Now, and this little horn isgoing to come out of Syria, and
that little horn is gonna be thegeneral known as Aleutius.
This little horn, uh, a type ofthe Antichrist, came out of the
ten horns, and the ten hornsthat are on that beast is going
(10:44):
to be the ten horns of thegentile kingdom.
That little horn is going to bewhat's referred to as a type in
the shadow of the Antichrist, who will be General Seleucus,
and he came from one of thedivisions of the Greek and the
Grecian Empire.
Now, that little horn that we'retalking about that everybody
wants to look for right now, isliterally fulfilled in the
(11:09):
person that we know asAntiochanes that came out of
Syria.
He made a lot of promises toJews, only to disregard them
when he desecrated the temple.
He killed priests, and then hemade the misfortune of
sacrificing a swine on thealtar.
Now, everybody will say, Oh,well, okay, well, the Antichrist
is already covenant gone.
(11:29):
Remember, Daniel was looking atit from the future tense, John
was looking at it from the pasttense.
So these things, a lot of thesethings are going to happen
again.
This is why you have to look atDaniel to see how these things
happen.
Now, there is a little late timethat between the desecration of
(11:54):
the temple and the deliveranceof Jerusalem under the Judas
Maccabeas, and of course, that'snot to be confused with Judas
Iscariot, it was actually 2300days.
This Judas Maccabeas rescued thechildren of Israel um within
(12:17):
about 2300 days, it's exactly2300 days to be exact.
And there have been a lot offalse teachers that are out
there that are gonna that willtry to build a doctrine that
there's a symbol of timesymbolizing 2300 days.
However, history verifies thelength of time being literally
(12:39):
2300 days.
So basically, what's happeninghere, you would have a lot of
people that would say oh 2305,uh 2296.
No, it was literally exactly2300 days.
So just to recap, just to recap, you had four world empires, you
(13:01):
have Babylonian, the Medes andPersian, the Greek, and the
Roman.
Now there are two more to come.
There's two more to come.
One would be the AntichristEmpire, and the other one will
be the Lord's Empire, theChrist's Empire.
(13:21):
And to get the symbolization ofhow this is going to happen, you
look in chapter two, becausethat's where that statue is
talking about how these um howthese empires will come and how
and the order and the sequencein which they will arise,
Daniel, Daniel chapter 7 willtell you what the symbolizes
(13:45):
those uh the symbols of thoseempires are, but I also want you
to remember something and noticesomething.
There is no symbolization forChrist's kingdom, there's no
animal symbolizing Christ'skingdom.
So, and and that's to to kind ofdistinguish it from the
(14:06):
antichrist kingdom because it itwill be symbolized by an animal.
Even in Daniel chapter 8, wejust kind of went over it, we
didn't read it specifically, butthen we we did talk about the
ram and the hego.
None of these are Christ'skingdom, Christ's kingdom is
actually symbolized by a rock,so it's just good to know and
(14:29):
know what we're looking for andbe careful because remember the
Antichrist kingdom, according towhat we know of the Antichrist,
is supposed to try to mimicChrist, but they're gonna have
one thing that's going to bewrong with it, and it's going to
have a an animal, uh, it's gonnahave animalistic
(14:49):
characteristics.
Now, when we go into uh Danielchapter 9, there's a huge
importance there, and the thevery important thing about
chapter 9 in the propheticimportance is that it's spoken
of being the framework of theBible prophet.
There are key verses in thischapter.
(15:11):
Remember, remember I tell youverse or two above, verse or two
below, but preferably the wholechapter.
But in Daniel chapter 9, thereare going to be key verses in
these in this chapter that willgive the key to the correct
interpretation of what's goingon.
Remember, scripture is not givento private interpretation, and a
(15:31):
lot of times we don't get itright, and so we sort of make it
up as we go along, and then whenit kind of when our
interpretations fall on theirface, we get real quiet, but we
just move on to something else.
But we have to pay attention tothe key verses and make sure
they stay in context.
Now, a lot of times we will talkabout uh when people talk about
(15:54):
the prophecies, they'll talkabout the 70 weeks of dain.
And in Daniel 9 and 24, it says,70 weeks are determined upon thy
people and upon thy holy city tofinish the transgression and to
make an end of sins and to makereconciliation for iniquity and
(16:14):
to bring in everlastingrighteousness, and to seal up
the vision and prophecy and toanoint the most holy.
All of that is in one verse, andthat means an entire situation
is going to happen.
Before Gabriel brought thisrevelation to Daniel, this
(16:38):
prophecy to Daniel, Daniel hadbeen praying concerning the
future of the people, but he wasonly praying concerning the
future of the Jews, who had beenin captivity for almost 70
years.
Lord, oh Lord, forgive, oh Lord, hear, hearken, and do, defer not
for thy own sake, oh my God, forthy city and thy people are
(17:01):
called by thy name.
This is Daniel 9:19.
So Daniel was praying for thecity, which is Jerusalem, and
for thy people, which is thetribe of Judah, because
remember, Judah and the rest ofIsrael have stood that at that
time.
And God sent an answer thatconcerned the future of thy
people, Judah and the holy city,Jerusalem.
(17:22):
You gotta be careful what youpray for.
God will answer the prayer thatyou pray, even if you mess up
and pray the wrong thing, Godwill answer that prayer.
If you believe that He is and Hewill answer prayers, you will
answer that prayer.
You gotta be careful what youpray for.
But this prophetic truth broughtout um in Daniel 9 and 19 or
Daniel chapter 9 only applies toIsrael.
(17:47):
It doesn't deal with theGentiles, doesn't deal with the
church, and the moment we starttrying to make it make it apply
to the church, we we take awayfrom God's word.
We almost rob God for his word.
So, and and this is where peoplestart coming up with well, this
is 70 weeks, and this happened, and and then the rapture is
(18:08):
gonna happen that day.
This is where we start coming upwith a lot of false doctrines
that we hurt ourselves verybadly when we start coming up
with these weird sort ofdoctrines.
Now, and the the funny thing is,and well, actually, that's not
funny, the sad thing is that umit'll sound real good too.
It'll sound great, and you'lltake a little scripture from
(18:32):
here and a little bit of ascripture from there, and you'll
tie it all together, and thenbam, you just create a whole
false doctrine, and anybody wholistens to you is now on their
way to hell because they believesomething that God never said,
they believe a lot, and becauseyou lied to them, you're sending
them straight to the hot spot.
(18:53):
So we gotta be careful where wedon't do, we don't take anything
out of God's word to fit our ourour studying and seeking the the
future, the prophecy.
And so, and the biggest thing Ithink we have, the biggest thing
I think we have with the uh asfar as man and and prophecy is
(19:19):
the idea of time.
Remember, this entire chapternine took place in the first
year when when Darius had turnedover the kingdom to Belshazzar
because Daniel was about 90years of age, he had he had a
(19:40):
huge burden concerning whatIsrael was gonna go through,
what God's gonna do to thechildren of Israel, and he
understood that there was a70-year period, and that 70
years of Israel captivity wascoming to an end, and it would
soon be time for Jews to returnhome in their own land.
(20:01):
So, again, they would be able toworship in the holy city of
Jerusalem.
So, by Daniel's example, we cankind of learn that there's a
value of being familiar withwhat God said in verse chapter
2.
Sorry, verse 2 of this chapter.
Uh Daniel stated he understoodthe captivity of to be 70 years
of name.
(20:21):
In fact, he learned that byreading the writings of the
prophet Jeremiah.
So, you in order to figure thatout, go to Jeremiah 25, 11 and
12.
And this whole land shall bedesolation and an astonishment.
And these nations shall servethe king of Babylon 70 years,
(20:41):
and it shall come to pass when70 years are accomplished, I
will punish the king of Babylon.
Now that has to be veryencouraging if you're over the
country.
Okay, it's December of uh year69.
Yeah, that's coming, ourdeliverance is coming, but it
would also be encouraged inDaniel, who's also familiar with
(21:04):
what was taught in Leviticus 26,33 to uh 34.
And I will scatter you among theheathen, and I will draw the
sword after you, and your landshall be desperate, your city's
waste.
Then shall the land enjoy herSabbath as long as it lies
desperate, and you be in yourenemy's land, even then shall
(21:25):
the land rest and enjoy herSabbath.
What is the word that keptrepeating this?
Sabbath.
What is the Sabbath?
A Sabbath.
So the children of Israel havebeen in Palestine for 980 years
by Palestine.
We're talking about the land, not the country.
So stop it.
So don't tell me anything aboutPalestine.
(21:46):
Okay, they had been in thatline, land called Palestine,
from the occupation of the landunder Joshua until the time of
captivity.
So every seventh year was to bea sabbatical year, and the Jews
had ignored that law for 490years.
So that meant that there wasexactly 70 sabbatical years in
(22:08):
the total period which had notbeen celebrated.
This is why God took Israel andput them in captivity for
exactly 70 years.
Don't believe me?
Second Chronicles 36 and 21.
Just read that on your own timebecause I'm actually running
real short on time.
That's what I love about Biblestudy because I can get off into
(22:31):
some other places and not stayon the subject.
So, but Daniel would have neverbeen aware of that fact if he
had not been studying thescripture.
So he knew exactly why thenumber 70 was important in that
time of captivity.
He knew he knew what God'sjudgment was going to be, he
(22:52):
knew it.
So just as Daniel uh was wellversed in the scripture and
stuff like that, we have to dothat as well.
We have to be sure we're readingthe word of God because this is
how we don't get off intosomething that God is not trying
(23:13):
to say, we don't make up thingsas we go along.
And even though Daniel, weDaniel was kind of considered
perfect for his time at thistime.
Um, he had to confess his sinsbefore God, too.
Now I didn't say before a man, Isaid before God.
He identified himself with hispeople, he didn't he didn't walk
(23:36):
around like he was all high andmighty, and he was some special
somebody.
He was Daniel, and he knew thathe had his own flaws, even
though he was considered perfectat that time.
And Daniel 9 and 45, and thiswill probably be the end of the
episode today.
Daniel 9 and 45 said, I prayedunto the Lord my God and made my
confession.
(23:57):
We we have sinned, not they, wehave sinned and committed
iniquity and have done wickedlyand have rebelled, even by
departing from your precepts andfrom your judgment.
Now, you know, the hardestthing, the hardest things for
people to do, especially when wecall ourselves living for God,
(24:17):
we call ourselves Christians, wecall ourselves church folk, we
call ourselves everything.
Everything nice.
I was gonna say everything but achild of God, but no, we
actually are calling ourselveschildren of God.
But the hardest thing for us todo is to get down in our own
selves and say, God, I havesinned, I have done the wrong
(24:43):
thing, I have messed up, I needyour help.
It's a very difficultprofession.
It's it's self-accountabilitybecause we don't want anybody
else to hold us accountable, butwe have to be held accountable,
we have to hold ourselvesaccountable, and we can't go
around thinking that we're we'resomebody special.
(25:03):
Yes, God loves each and everyone of us.
Yes, absolutely.
God created you out of nothing, yes, absolutely.
God died for you, yes, he well,he hung on the cross for you.
God never died, he hung on thecross for you, and everything
that was done for you is donefor you, even right now, today.
(25:26):
You get up, you go to work, youcome back home.
You get you go to work, you comeback home safely with no
accidents and nothing goeswrong.
That was like God doing that foryou, and so we sort of take
these things for granted.
Oh, God gave me a blessing, butthat doesn't mean we don't have
to say, God, I'm sorry, I'veI've messed up something.
(25:48):
I've messed up in this thing.
I messed up how I talked to thatperson.
I messed up.
And God, please forgive me, helpme not do it again.
So this is Daniel, and andDaniel sought God like this
often (26:03):
prayer, fasting,
repentance.
And these are the three biggestthings that we have to work on
right now today prayer, fasting, and repentance.
And he did that in order just tohave the future of Israel
revealed.
However, while he was yetpraying, Gabri came and said,
(26:25):
Hey, I got something else to goyou do.
Gabri had been commissioned andsent, and one of the one of my
favorite chapters.
I I it's very hard to say what afavorite chapter is, but Daniel
chapter 10 is one of myfavorites, because God heard
Daniel because Daniel wasconstantly in connection with
(26:46):
God.
But Daniel started asking for arevelation and asking for a
thing, and it still took 20 daysfor his answer to get to Daniel,
because the devil tried to stop.
That all being said, we're gonnawrap it up today.
I hope we got something out ofthis today.
I know we we kind of dug intosome things, we talked about the
(27:09):
beasts, we talked about whatthey symbolize and the horns and
things of that nature.
We it was a little bit lesslasting than the last couple, so
I I invite you to study Danielchapter 8 and go into Daniel
chapter 9.
Thank you for liking andsharing.
We're running out of time.
I love all each, every one ofyou.
(27:30):
Thank you all.
See y'all on the next one.
God bless you, to do.
