Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello everybody, welcome to today's episode of
Walk With Me.
I am your host, jj.
It's so good to have each andevery one of you here with us
today on the Walk With Me BibleStudy Podcast.
It is so good to have each andevery one of you.
You guys could be listening toany other podcast.
There are so many out there.
There's even some with the samename as this, because I didn't

(00:24):
think it through when I wouldhave named it.
But I do thank you for each andevery one of you joining us
here on this podcast.
Thank you for the questions.
You can also send them throughthe Facebook now, on the Iron
Gate Ministries Facebook page.
If you need to have that, wewill send a link through.

(00:48):
I guess you can request thelink, because I haven't quite
figured out how to do that yet.
They're just a regularpodcaster, such as myself.
But you know what?
It's good to have all of youhere.
Thank you so much for yourquestions.
Thank you so much for yourcomments.
Thank you so much for yourquestions.
Thank you so much for yourcomments.
Thank you so much for yoursupport last week.

(01:09):
I'm sorry that I went on thatlittle rant last week, but it's
just something that had beenbothering me for so long.
And then that situation that wetalked about just sort of
reared its ugly head.
And then some of you guys sentquestions and again I I'm really
thankful for the questions.
I really love the questionsthat, uh, when their questions

(01:31):
are biblical, it helped me helpyou because it helped me,
because sometimes you guys sendme questions that I may not know
the answer to or I may be alittle weak on that answer.
Now I got to go study the wordof God and then that makes me
help you, because if thequestion was something that
you're needing, that last littlebit to kind of get yourself

(01:55):
over a hump to live and for God,then it helps, helps me, help
you Right, and then which thenin turn helps me Right.
So it's all one thing, andthat's we're going to get into
our lessons today, but let'saddress something, because
isolationism is a kind of aspirit that's going around now

(02:16):
and is leading a lot of peopleastray and it's going to end up
with people being lost thinkingthat they're not, going to end
up with people being lostthinking that they're not.
We need each other.
The Bible refers to the churchas his body.
If I cut off my finger rightnow and sent it into the corner,
the finger would die and thisbody would hurt and the function

(02:42):
of the body would not be asefficient as it was if the
finger was still attached.
So it doesn't matter where youare.
If you are in the true churchof God, if you are part of the
body of Christ, you arenecessary.
There is nothing like and I'msure anybody here can admit to
it it is absolutely aneye-opening experience to have a

(03:08):
part of your body that yousuddenly get hurt and then all
of a sudden you realize howimportant it is.
Oh my God, it's a pinky toe.
Then all of a sudden you hurtthat toe and then now you
realize that you try to walk onit and you're limping, and now
you're hurting your other kneeand it's like a cascading

(03:31):
failure.
So big shout out to oursponsors, true Boss, lyricists
and Exquisite Creations.
We're going to be doing a poloevent Sunday.
I'm really excited about that.
But thank you all so much.
Thank you all so much for thesponsorship.
Thank you for the questions.
We're going to get right intoour lesson because I think I've

(03:53):
wasted enough time here.
We're going to talk about aquestion that I get on a regular
basis.
Again, if I've answered thisquestion for you, then it is
what it is Just kind of ridealong with us, and if not, then
you know, sit down and I hopeyou get something out of the
lesson today.
So the question is why do Ibelieve that God is one God?

(04:19):
Okay, now I can clearly justsay and a lot of lazy people do
this they say, well, you know, the Bible says and then that's
it.
But the problem is that if youtake certain scriptures out of
context and the Bible sayssomething completely different
too.
So that's why, on this podcast,we have one rule.

(04:40):
One rule Read the verse or twoabove a scripture, the verse or
two below the scripture, butpreferably the whole chapter,
because context is key.
So when I say that I believe inone God, that means there is one
God and there's a difference inunderstanding the name of the

(05:08):
saying.
You know, one God versus aperson.
And I think this is where weget it really kind of messed up
in our in our lexicon, so tospeak.
See, if you say person, thensome people would understand it
to mean like a body or anappearance or like a visible

(05:31):
expression.
So then, if we accept thatdefinition, then clearly, god
the Father is not a person, itis a spirit, and they that
worship him must worship him inspirit and in truth.
So God is a spirit.

(05:51):
On the other hand, if you takethe word person to kind of be
short for like personality orindividuality or
self-consciousness or somethinglike that, then God the Father
is a person.
I know that sounds a bitconfusing and it's fine to go
ahead and rewind this back listto it a few times Again.

(06:13):
If you think it's like aphysical thing, then God is not
a person, he is a spirit.
But if you take it to be apersonality or something like
that, then yeah, it's a person, but this still doesn't make two
or three persons in a Godhead.
That's not how this works.

(06:33):
This personality deal is reallyone and the same, whether you
see it as Jehovah in the OldTestament or as Jesus in the New
Testament.
This is where we get the secondperson that people refer to as
God, but the Bible does not.
The Bible talks about it beingone God.
So what is this personality ofGod?

(06:56):
Let's talk about that, becausewhen we start going down through
Scripture, things have to makesense In both the Old Testament
and the New Testament.
Man is able to have a fellowshipwith God, he's able to interact
with God and in some positions,in some places, it's almost a

(07:17):
one-on-one personal relationship.
And man is able to talk to godand have communication with him
and we never um kind of think ofwe should never actually think
of god as just being like thisimpersonal force or like the
force of the universe orsomething like that, and that's

(07:37):
very important that we don't dothat.
But he is God and the way heloves us and he manifested
himself in flesh to die for usshows that he is God and that he

(07:58):
loves us, how much he loves us.
And as such, he still haspersonality.
He still has the samepersonality, but he's still one
God, one divine person.
Whether you consider thefleshly manifestation of Jesus
or the personality of God, he isstill one.
So what does that mean?
Now, we men, we considerourselves right, we have body,

(08:26):
soul and spirit, but we're oneperson.
If you say, hey, jj, well, jj'sgot a body, jj's got a soul,
jj's got a spirit, what do youmean?
Jj's got a soul and a spirit.
Okay, here's the thing If you,if the way you act, the way you
react to things.
It's not just a bunch of brainchemicals, it is literally how

(08:51):
you react to things, becausethis is who you are, this is
your personality Before youlearn anything.
This is your personality.
I you learn anything.
This is your personality.
I saw studies where they took ababy that was had, you know,

(09:11):
formed, to a crack parent, acrack house, a crack mother, a
crack addicted mother, let mejust say it that way and they
put them in a really nice home.
They put them in nice homes andthey gave them, they nurtured
them and they tried to educatethem and all that stuff.
And while they were beingeducated, as far as

(09:32):
scholastically speaking, as faras intelligence, there were
certain things that were stillcarried over from themselves,
from the spirit inside them.
So they had still addictive oraddictive personality, and we
call that now an addictive trait.

(09:54):
So it's kind of the same thing, but I don't want to get too far
off in the weeds on that.
So it's kind of the same thing, but I don't want to get too far
off in the weeds on that.
But in the same way that thetitles Father, son and Holy
Ghost are freely used inScripture.
This fact does not make thesethree separate persons, nor

(10:19):
three gods.
Okay, I want you to reallythink about that for a second.
The Bible declares the Father, son and Holy Ghost is one person
.
Now let's go and check it outJohn 5.
Sorry, 1 John 5 and 7.
Remember we have that ruleVerse 2 above, verse 2 below,
but preferably the whole chapter.
There are three that bearrecord in heaven the Father, the
Word and the Holy Ghost.

(10:40):
But wait, I thought you weretalking about the Son 1 John 5
and 7.
Now you're saying that there'sfour gods this is where I have
some very good Jehovah Witnessfriends that kind of went off
track with this and now they'resaying that the Word and the Son
are two different gods.

(11:00):
Now you got four gods.
But if the father, the word andthe Holy Ghost these three are
one, then where does that leaveJesus?
Because Jesus is the son, andthat opens an entirely new
doctrine of confusion.
So let's consider it man, withour spirit and soul and body.

(11:22):
But we're one person.
I am JJ.
The three titles of son,co-worker and minister doesn't
make me three different persons.
It's just saying that in thisrole I'm going to be doing
something different, but I amstill the same JJ.

(11:45):
Oh, my gosh, now there's fourJJs.
No, I'm just doing.
I'm just wearing a differenthat at this time doing a
different thing.
Well, jj, you're notomnipresent.
That's the key to knowing thedifference between me and God.
God is omnipresent.
That's the key to knowing thedifference between me and God.
God is omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent all these things

(12:06):
that JJ is not.
But we are still in that imageof being able to do multiple
things, wear multiple hats andstill be in the same person.
Colossians 1 and 3 we givethanks to God and the Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ.
Well, wait a minute, what aboutthe word?
Colossians 1 and 3.
We give thanks to God and theFather of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Well, wait a minute.
What about the Word?
What about the Holy Spirit?
What?

(12:27):
You can't separate theseBecause you say God and the
Father.
Now you have two more people.
Now you got five gods.
So you got to be very carefulwith how you, how we read the
bible and how we study the bibleand pray about the word.

(12:48):
We should always pray aboutwhat we're reading.
Um, until you know, we get arevelation about what's in the
bible and how it does notcontradict itself.
Now here's 1 Timothy 3.16.
I really love this because itreally puts everything in
perspective and it's the thingthat is told to the churches.

(13:11):
Remember, these are all lettersto the church.
Everything from Romans to Judeis just letters to churches,
letters to churches.
When we look at 1 Timothy 3.16,we are literally talking to
another church, to a churchwhere they're dealing with this
situation.
Because let me give a littleback story Again.

(13:34):
I don't want to get off on theweeds, but remember, a lot of
Gentile churches came out ofpolytheism, like the churches at
Greece they have.
You know, greece mythology hasa lot of different gods, North
mythology, I mean, I can just godown the road.

(13:57):
There's so many differentreligions out there with
multiple gods and things likethat, and so when you're coming
into the true church you have tokind of have this reinforced.
It kind of has to be taughtthat there is only one God.
It's just doing differentthings at the same time, but

(14:22):
without controversy.
Great is the mystery of God.
God was manifest in the flesh.
From that moment on, boom.
That explains it all.
But then it goes on to explainall the things that God did when
he was manifest in the flesh.
Now if you look at Amplifiednow, I actually like the new
living translation.

(14:42):
But if you want to look atAmplified now, I actually like
the New Living Translation.
But if you want to look atAmplified, he, god was made
visible in human flesh.
Now, that's one of the keyverses that can only be
understood by revelation.
And yet it has to be understoodif we're to really understand
what the Godhead is all about.
Like.
We can go back and look at howGod manifested himself in ways

(15:06):
like on Mount Sinai.
God manifested himself man toman.
He was talking to negotiatesalvation of Sodom.
You know, in Hebrews 1 and 3,the knowledge of God never given

(15:29):
in, for the incarnation ofChrist is the expressed image of
the invisible God.
So, on this thought, we shouldreally kind of look at how the
Bible really depicts God and howGod always talks about it.
I, I, I.
He never talks about we.

(15:51):
Oh, but DeDe, what about?
Let us make man?
It's kind of like saying youknow, let's go to the store and
then you're the only one thatgoes.
Alright, but I don't want toget too far ahead of myself.
We're going to cover that.
I think we're going to end upcovering this over several
episodes.

(16:11):
So, on this thought, we shouldgo back and look at what is the
mystery of God.
God is manifesting himself inthe flesh.
Now the mystery of inequity isflesh manifesting itself in God.
Because we say that we haveinequity in our flesh.
These are contrasted scripturesand, you know, man has his

(16:34):
choice.
If he doesn't accept themystery of godliness, he's going
to be compelled to accept themystery of iniquity.
Now what does that mean?
He's going to be compelled toaccept the mystery of iniquity.
Now what does that mean?
If God did not manifest in theflesh, then Jesus was a sinner
and that is blasphemy.
And I had to say that realquick because I didn't want any
devil to turn around saying I'mover here blaspheming.
But if it was God in the fleshthat can cause us to live

(17:00):
sinlessly, then yes, god canmanifest in the flesh.
Now, remember I said that theJehovah Witnesses said a whole
bunch of all gods.
Okay, so here's how this works, and it took me about three
months to practice, so don'tfeel bad if you have to listen
to this a couple times.

(17:22):
John 1 and 1.
I had a very good friend I usedto work with and we were
talking about the Bible.
He brought his Bible and heshowed me John 1 and 1.
And in the John 1 and 1 of hisBible, well, let me do this one
first.
In all the other Bibles, itsays In the beginning was the
Word and the Word was with Godand the Word was God.

(17:44):
In his Bible it added oneletter, and I can repeat one
letter, and it changed theentire meaning of the Bible.
I'll read it the way his was Inthe beginning was the Word and
the Word was with God and theWord was with God and the Word

(18:05):
was a God.
Whoa.
Okay, remember earlier wetalked about God and the Father
and the Word, the Holy Ghost andthe East 301?
Let's talk about the Son.
This is where this starts.
And now you're up to like fivegods and now you're up to like

(18:27):
five dots.
And I, literally I sat and Iwrestled with that verse for
like three weeks and then Ifinally said that's what it is.
And I went and go look my bible.
God finally said bro, go readyour bible.
I read my bible, said his bible.
I said wait, they took the aout.
No, they added the A to theirBible.
So let's move on.
We're talking about the logos.
So the logo, translated fromthe Greek, means word.

(18:52):
Now this means it's not onlythe expression of an inward
thought, but also the thoughtitself.
This could not be bettertranslated.
But for the sake of ourunderstanding, we might attempt
to understand the meaning oflogos.
There was a.
There was a computerprogramming language called
logos we messed around with in6th grade.

(19:13):
It was really cool because ittook a great time.
You would tell the person to goforward two spaces, make a left
and then draw a line, and itwould do that, but the line
would only be as long as youtold it to draw.
Go forward two spaces, make aleft and then draw a line, and
it would do that, and the linewould only be as long as you
told it to draw.
So you have to really put thethought together to really make

(19:33):
the cursor do what you want itto do.
So we might say that using alogo is how the deity expressed
itself.
So while the word of God saidlet there be light, there was
light.
It may not have been thatsimple, but it was expressed

(19:54):
this way so that we couldunderstand it.
In other words, logos is reallyjust an expression of the
invisible God, like deity, speak.
So now this is how we'rethinking.
An expression of that thinkingcannot be separated from
ourselves.
Like, for instance, you say JJcame up with this idea to

(20:17):
streamline operations, tostreamline operations, then yes,
that idea cannot actually beseparated from me.
You could steal it, but we allknow the idea was mine and that
idea cannot be separated from me.

(20:37):
But if it's, how do I say this?
It's an essential part of ourvery being, but it's not a
separate person, it's not aseparate, not a separate human.
So the same way it is with God.
The scripture, written by theapostle Under inspiration, is

(20:59):
and it's written by underinspiration To prevent
Contradictions and stuff likethat and it clearly states the
logos was God.
So we're going to stop here, because that was a lot to cover
for one day.
But we're talking about justthe word here.
God's word is the expression ofGod's idea.

(21:23):
It is not a separate God.
And just because the word did athing, because God is all
powerful, is literally speakinga thing into existence, which is
why I generally tell people tostay away from that kind of
thinking, because we are not God.
I've never seen anybody speak abag of money into existence.

(21:47):
I've never seen that happen.
Now, if you get somebody to dothat, I'm probably going to walk
away from you because that'skind of like witchcraft to me.
So just stay away from thatkind of thinking.
But the Word of God does somuch.
But the word of God does somuch because it is God that is
doing it.
It is not a separate God.

(22:10):
Just like our words go out, itis us, us coming from inside.
That's why Jesus would say stufflike it's not what goes into
you that defiles you, but whatcomes out of you that defiles
you.
He's not talking about going tothe bathroom.
He's talking about what you sayout of your mouth, because of

(22:30):
all the things that are inside, that you've got to have worked
out how you put things out andthis I am absolutely convicted
but how you let things come outof your mouth is what defiles
you, it's what turns people off.
Or even though you could besaying things absolutely true,

(22:51):
but the way you say it andthat's one thing I could never
get in my head.
I could never understand howpeople would say not what you
say is how you say it.
Holy moly, what is that?
Not what you say is how you sayit.
Holy moly, what is that?
But that's why the logos, theword, is God, it is from God, it
is attributable to God, it isconnected to God, it is actually

(23:17):
God's will, the will of Godbeing spoken out and performing
things Right now.
I know this may have generatedsome questions, so if you have
questions, email me atwalkwithmebiblestudy at gmail
and I'll try to explain it more, and I'll probably end up doing
another episode on just thispart.

(23:38):
It is very deep.
You've got to talk about thisand you've got to get it settled
Alright.
God bless you, each and everyone of you heart, because it is
very deep.
You got to talk about this andyou got to get it set up All
right.
God bless you, each and everyone of you.
Thank you all for joining me.
Check on somebody, tellsomebody you love them.
It's probably the only positiveinteraction they will see today
.
This world is a very dark placethese days, but we are the

(23:59):
light.
We are the light and light ofChrist shines through us and
again I convict myself.
God bless each and every one ofyou.
Thank you all.
God bless you all Until thenext one.
