(01:55):
to talk about that today.
But if you have any questionsor comments, the best way right
now to get them to me is byemail, and that email is
walkwithmebiblestudy at gmailcom.
Walkwithmebiblestudy atgmailcom.
So thank you all so much.
Big shout out to Two Bars ofLyricists and Exquisite

Sorry about that y'all.
I'm really sorry about that.
I just didn't have it in frontof me.
But thank you all so much forsponsoring.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
(02:39):
Here's the thing.
The question is, why do I needthe Holy Ghost?
And I'm just going to jumpright into it because this is
going to take a long time to gothrough.
Like I said, if you have anyquestions, make sure you email
me at walkwithmebiblestudy atgmailcom.
I'm not sure if I mentioned it,but now it feels like I did.
(03:01):
So here's the thing.
You need the Holy Ghost formainly two reasons.
Right, you need the Holy Ghostfor mainly two reasons.
And the main reason, the mainmain reason, is getting into
heaven.
Right, and that's because, ifyou read the Bible Now, this is
(03:29):
going to be John, chapter 3,verse 3.
Except the man be born of thewater and the kingdom, he shall
not enter into the kingdom ofheaven of God.
And Jesus says it again inverse 5.
Verse 3 and verse 5.
Water and spirit, baptism andbirth.
Being born of the water and thespirit.
(03:50):
Now, what does this being bornof the water and the spirit
really do?
Being born of the water ishaving your sins washed away in
Jesus' name.
Baptism, that's big, that'scute, that's 100%, and I know
it's symbolic.
You're not going to repent ofsomething today, commit a sin
(04:13):
tonight and then go back and getbaptized again tomorrow.
Once this is done in Jesus name, it carries forward, and that
is to say, not to live in sin,but if you do happen to mess up.
You now have this water baptismthat you've already done and
(04:33):
that water baptism is for thatyour sins can be remitted, not
just to remit the sins you'vealready done, but the sins you
may fall into, like, say, forexample, your co-worker make you
mad and you flip off the tongueand you realize and we're going
to talk about that how you endup realizing, you realize that
(04:54):
you were wrong and then you saygod forgive me, and then it's
done and you make it right forco-workers and it's done right.
So what is the reason for the?
The main, the second reason forthe holy ghost, the second
reason for the holy ghost, thesecond reason for the Holy Ghost
, the second reason for the HolyGhost is to be a minister to
(05:15):
you, and we're going to talkabout that and I feel like I'm
getting ahead of myself.
So let's go back to the firstone Now.
It's about convicting thesinner.
Right.
The reason for the Holy Ghost, the ministry of the Holy Ghost,
is to convict sinners.
John 16, 8 through 13.
He will reprove the world ofsin and of righteousness and of
(05:43):
judgment.
Right Now.
This is the first big step insomeone being born again.
And notice, I'm kind of stayingaway from the term saved, and
if you've been with this podcastany length of time, you kind of
realize why I don't really likeusing that word saved.
But this is a very big step.
It's the first step in someonecoming to God right, getting
(06:03):
their life right, and that'swhat this is about.
This Holy Spirit would anointthe word right that is being
preached, and it allows it to berelatable to you rather than,
oh, he must be talking tosomebody else, and that in
itself would kind of awakensomething in your content.
(06:27):
It sort of it gets down deepand it makes you think, hey, you
know what?
I think God is trying to tellme something.
That is actually the Holy Ghosttrying to minister to your
heart.
And a lot of people kind of loseit right here and they start
thinking, well, I'm not that bad, or you know, I don't need all
(06:49):
that.
And that's when they startthinking, well, I'm not that bad
, or you know, I don't need allthat.
And that's when they start toshut off the operation of the
Holy Ghost.
Yes, you can shut off theoperation of the Holy Ghost, and
this is where they do it Now,if you don't get to a point
where you can't repent.
(07:11):
By this term repent I mean askGod to forgive you Of all the
bad, wrong things you've done, not necessarily in Itemized line
by line Order.
I mean you've been years at thealtar and I think some people
do.
But when I say, like God,please forgive me Because I'm a
sinner and I just want to bewith you, that's all you really
(07:33):
need.
If that's coming from yourheart, right, and the only way
for that to come into your heartis the Holy Ghost has to be
with you in your heart.
You can't really finish eventhat repentance, that repentance
motion, that repentanceoperation, I guess you would
(07:57):
call it, without having the HolyGhost conviction, and that
conviction tells you, hey, youmessed up, you've been messing
up, you've been living a lifethat God is not pleased with and
we all have to have thatrevelation.
It's a revelation and this iswhere that beginning.
(08:18):
This is why Jesus will talkabout being born of the spirit,
because basically, you're goingto be starting from day one,
scratch Right.
So once that happens, now youhave where the Holy Ghost will
start to regenerate, and Titus 3and 5 talks about it by the
(08:41):
washing of regeneration andrenewing of the Holy Ghost.
There is a lot of scripturewhere it talks about how and I
think again I'm getting ahead ofmyself where you can get the
Holy Ghost and somehow lose itover time.
But Titus 3 and 5 tells youthat this Holy Ghost has to be
(09:08):
renewed on a daily basis.
Where is this Holy Ghost comingfrom it?
God, it's the spirit of God inyou.
Now, this work of regenerationis really what changes the
center into what people call asaint.
And by saint, I'm not talkingabout, like, what we can think
of the word saint, like SaintPeter, saint, saint john.
(09:29):
What I mean by saint is just aregular run-of-the-mill
christian that is separatinghimself from the world and
living a holy and righteous life.
Yes, that is possible for you,it's possible for me, it's
possible for anybody that iswilling to live the way god want
us to live, and it just seemslike I'm having all kinds of
(09:51):
problems today, but we're justgoing to keep right on going.
Now, remember, the Holy Ghostis here to accomplish that
changing of a sinning person, ora person who sins on a regular,
into that person through beinga new creation in Christ Jesus.
This is where that missing linkis.
(10:13):
Now, again, I don't want to getahead of myself.
It's so hard, but you know, alot of people will say that they
have the Holy Ghost and you canimmediately tell If you really
have the Holy Ghost.
You can immediately tell.
A person does not need to tellyou that they have the Holy
Ghost For them to acknowledgehaving the Holy Ghost is
basically for them.
(10:34):
But when you can also tell whensomebody's claiming that they
have the Holy Ghost and have nomore Holy Ghost than you have,
I'm just keeping it real withyou.
I'm telling you that that is athing.
Okay, but let's talk aboutRomans 8 and 9.
It talks about how the Spiritof God is going to dwell in you
(10:58):
In 1 Corinthians 6 and 19,.
Your body is the temple of theHoly Ghost which is in you.
Oh wait, stop.
One more thing, walkers.
You know I have to say it.
You know I have to say it Foranybody that's new here.
We have a rule on this podcast.
I give out a lot of scripturebecause I believe that the Bible
confirms itself.
(11:18):
There is no contradiction inthe word of God and therefore,
when we are talking aboutscripture in its context, it is
important that I may give outone or two scriptures or verses
for the sake of time.
However, we have a rule Alwaysread a verse or two above or a
(11:39):
verse or two below, butpreferably the whole chapter.
Why Context is key.
Context is key and context iskey.
There are a lot of things thatwill seem like it's a little out
of place and it's easy for meto take a scripture from here
and a scripture from there if Ihave more than a rudimentary
(12:00):
understanding of the Bible andtie it together and make a false
doctrine.
I am not here to present afalse doctrine.
I could be in my bed sleeping, honestly.
I could be on my boat somewhere, honestly.
But this is not about trying tolead anybody astray.
This is us trying to make it toheaven.
(12:21):
Context is key because thoseare our instructions.
If I'm making a cake and I getall the ingredients together and
and the uh, the ingredients sayhey, put your um, put your uh,
(12:42):
uh flour and your your bakingpowder and everything in the
same bowl and mix it alltogether, but I have my eggs
already scrambled here and I'mmaking egg in the flour and
don't take care of the otherdried goods, that cake is not
gonna come out right.
You know why, because I mixedit together out of context.
I mixed it together out oforder.
(13:04):
So context is key and I'm sorry, I just kind of got off on the
weeds on that.
So I'm going to be goingthrough a lot of scriptures
right now because we have tomake up some time and I want to
make sure I get at least thisquestion answered today.
All right, so the Holy Ghostdoes live in you.
It guides you, but it alsoseals you.
(13:27):
It actually seals you, you, butit also seals you.
It actually seals you.
Ephesians 1 and 13, for whom, also after that, you have
believed, you were sealed in theHoly Spirit of promise.
Ephesians 4 and 30 goes on tosay and grieve not the Holy
Spirit of God whereby you aresealed.
Now, this sealing, this sealingis not like the sealing in your
(13:49):
house.
This sealing has differentmeanings, though.
It means like to be owned likea child of God.
You now belong to Jesus, youare sealed in his name, you are
secure in the fact of knowingthat you're a child of God and
as long as the Holy Spiritabides there and the seal is
(14:10):
unbroken.
Now I want to stop again, because I'm being led to stop
here.
I want you to remember I justsaid something here that was
very important as long as theHoly Spirit abides there and the
seal is unbroken, which meansby correlation, you can actually
break the seal and the HolyGhost can no longer reside in
(14:32):
you.
And we're going to talk aboutsome of that maybe next week,
because I can see the timerunning.
Approval you need the Holy Ghostfor approval because that seal
places God's approval on yourlife, things that you see people
get in favor for and they'rehumble, and stuff.
That's God's approval.
(14:54):
And the baptism of the HolyGhost was the last act in the
work of regeneration in the lifeof the believer.
Now, when I say last act, thatmeans it's the last starting.
Alright, when you repent, because there's three different
steps that you're repenting, getting baptized in Jesus' name
(15:15):
and getting the Holy Ghost.
Right Now you can get them outof order, but you got to repent
first.
I've seen people get the HolyGhost while repenting and then
get baptized in Jesus' name.
I've seen people get baptizedin Jesus' name and then repent
and get the Holy Ghost.
I've seen people you know theonly thing I don't I've even
(15:37):
seen people I'm not going to lieto you I've seen people get the
Holy Ghost because they werestanding next to somebody else
that got the Holy Ghost.
I am not going to lie to you.
I have seen that happen and thetransformation that was made on
their lives.
They immediately repented andit was such a glorious watching
(16:01):
that that happened.
So this growth, this work ofgrowth and that's what the Holy
Ghost is for it continues.
It continues, whether's whatthe Holy Ghost is for.
It continues.
It continues whether you getthe Holy Ghost in your teens and
you live to 85, or you get theHoly Ghost at 85 and live two
more weeks.
You will be continuallyregenerated in your spirit not
(16:23):
in your body, in your spirit, aslong as you got the Holy Ghost.
But the biggest thing is itputs power within you.
Now I'm not talking about powerto go out and turn water to
wine and raise the dead andstuff like that.
I mean, I've heard people saystuff like that about you know,
(16:44):
I prayed over somebody and theygot well.
Okay, that's great, but that'snot necessarily the power that
we're talking about.
We're talking about the powerafter that.
The holy ghost comes upon you,as described in acts 1 and 8.
This word power is differentfrom the way that that we
consider it, it comes from thesame root word dynamite.
(17:07):
Now, this is actually the powerof God that's going to come
into your life as an individualand give you the power to
overcome and live victoriouslyover sin and, as in Acts 1 and 8
, the power to witness thepeople of the saving grace of
Jesus Christ.
By one spirit are we allbaptized in one body.
(17:32):
That's 1 Corinthians, 12 and 13.
It puts you in the body ofChrist.
It actually it grasps you intothe body of Christ.
The child of God is placed intothe body of Christ and at the
same time, christ comes into him.
It doesn't matter how longyou've had the Holy Ghost, it
(17:53):
don't matter if you are a personthat sits on the pew, like I
like to do, or you are apreacher of the Megas, megas, of
the Megas' churches out there.
As long as you really got theHoly Ghost, you all are in the
same body.
Now, this is kind of like, Idon't know, putting an empty cup
(18:13):
into a pail of water and thenput some of that water into the
cup and if you really look, ifyou do it right, the cup will
float in an equilibrium.
The cup is in the water and thewater is in the cup.
It's the same thing.
But here's, here's where, here's where you know the holy
(18:35):
ghost.
Somebody has the holy ghost andthey don't have the holy ghost.
The holy ghost will guide you.
Now, I'm not.
Some people think it seems likeit's such a supernatural thing.
Oh God told me to turn rightand I turned right and I folded,
fell and landed where I wasstanding.
Now, that can happen.
That can happen.
(18:57):
But this guiding, this HolySpirit guiding you, is not just
in miraculous things, it's aboutguiding every detail of our
lives.
What I mean?
Like somebody says something toyou and you know that the old
(19:19):
you would have flipped out andfive little words and six little
and nineteen little words wouldhave came out of your mouth and
four little words would havecome out of your mouth and you,
your body, like, shuts down onit.
Your mind shuts your mouth andyour body shuts down on it.
Your mind shuts down on it,your spirit shuts down on it,
and you just smile and say, okay, god bless you.
That right there, that rightthere was the Holy Ghost guiding
(19:42):
you to stay away from sin.
Why the Bible says to be angryand sin.
Not.
It didn't say you couldn't getangry.
It says be angry.
Jesus said be angry and sin not.
That is the Holy Ghost guidingyou, not keeping you away from
being angry.
Being angry is good.
God gave us those emotions, butbeing able to use those
(20:03):
emotions and not being in sinyou know what really aggravates
people, especially when they'regrown people and they think they
got Holy Ghost Tell them thatthey're sin.
You know what really aggravatespeople, especially when they're
grown people and they think theygot the Holy Ghost.
Tell them that they're sin.
That is the true test.
That is the true test oftelling somebody that they're
finding out if somebody got theHoly Ghost or not.
Because if you really got theHoly Ghost and if I really got
(20:25):
the Holy Ghost, you say JJ, youknow you was wrong.
Either A Holy Spirit will checkme because you're checking me
and say you know what, you'reright, I shouldn't have done
that.
Oh God, I'm sorry, now that isthe Holy Ghost.
Or or they don't have the HolyGhost and you check them and you
(20:47):
say you know what, brother, Idon't think you will Ghost.
And you check them and you sayyou know what, brother, I don't
think why were you in that placeand why did you say that to
that girl?
You know you should have saidthat to that girl.
You know you're married, andthen they rise up on you.
When they rise up on you, they're going to tell you right
there that they don't have theHoly Ghost.
Either that, or they havealready begun to leak the holy
(21:09):
ghost out of them.
I'm just telling, I'm justtelling you this is what the
holy ghost does.
It guides you.
If you're sealed with the holyghost, it guides you, and
sometimes it ain't pleasant toyou, y'all walkers, sometimes
it's not pleasant to you.
Please don't let me sit here andcreate a scenario where it
(21:32):
looks like living for God is allsunshine and rainbows as soon
as you pray to get the HolyGhost.
Your financial problems thatyou've been stacking up for the
last 30 years will notmiraculously right now fix
itself, because you went tochurch, you knelt in the altar,
and.
But I tell you what, though?
If you submit to the Spirit ofGod and let Him guide you, god
(21:59):
will work you out of thosefinancial problems.
God will work you out of thosefleshly problems.
God will work you out of someof the things that you, even if
God is saying hey, I need you togo through this here punishment
, because this is what you did.
If you can't go out and killsomebody today and then come and
(22:20):
fall in the altar and expectthat you won't even get
convicted, I mean, it can happen, it can.
But at the same time, god mayrequire you to go through some
punishment.
He can give you some time toget that holy ghost down inside.
Listen, I'm not God, but I'mjust saying some of the things
(22:43):
I've seen.
One of the worst things in theworld.
One of the worst things in theworld is people who go out and
do something, do something wrong, and you see this on TV
nowadays all the time.
It aggravates the spirit in meso bad.
They go out and do somethingwrong and the first thing they
do is go run to church and tryto complain about it.
(23:05):
They're not repentant now.
Now, if you repent, that's awhole different thing.
Oh God, I'm sorry, I I messedup.
God forgive me.
No, they run to church and tryto tell you that everybody
coming against me and no weaponformed against me shall prosper.
Wait a minute, friend.
You are literally trying toshut god down with his word.
(23:26):
Let's see how well that worksfor you, and even if that works
for you in this life, you'restill going to have to answer
for that.
Now I seem like I've gone alittle bit long, so I'm going to
end it right here before I getoff in the weeds.
Listen, let the Holy Ghost feelyou, because the next thing
(23:46):
we're going to talk about is howto lose the Holy Ghost.
Because the next thing we'regoing to talk about is how to
lose the Holy Ghost.
Remember, I said in thebeginning of part of this
episode there is a way to breakthat seal and let the Holy Ghost
get away, to leak the HolyGhost out.
All right, I love each andevery one of you.
(24:06):
Follow up, ask any questionsthat you have.
Put them in the comments ofthese social media posts.
Put them in, you know.
But the best way to do it is tosend me the email.
Y'all I'm telling youWalkWithMeBibleStudy at Gmail,
because that is easier for me tokind of sift through all this
stuff.
All right, walkwithmebiblestudyat Gmail, trying to sift
(24:29):
through all this stuff.
All right, walk with me atBibleStudy at Gmail.
And hey, if you want me toaddress you directly, put your
name in the subject line.
So you know and I know that I'mtalking directly to you and all
the other walkers are justwatching and listening.
That's fine, but I love eachand every one of you.
Please understand how much Ilove each and every one of you.
Even back when it was just two,I loved both of you and my long
(24:54):
life long listeners, as it wereand I love all of you who are
joining us today and the peoplewho will join in the future.
I do.
I love each and every one ofyou.
I know this sounds kind ofcliche, but I really do.
All right, I love each andevery one of you.
See y'all on the next one.
Tell somebody else that Jesusloves them, that you will
(25:16):
probably be the only person thatdelivers them some good news.
It don't matter how they reactto it at that moment.
That may be the seed that goesdown into their heart and god
starts to talk to them, becausethey saw you showing them the
love that the world said theycould never have.
(25:36):
All right, god bless each andevery one of you.
Love you all.
Bye.
