That was a really great event.

Second time I had gone to seepolo and it was a really
wonderful thing.
Thank you all so much for yourkind words and your

(01:08):
encouragement.
Thank you all, thank you, thankyou, thank you.
We're going to go and jump intotoday's episode today because
there's no way I can get it allin one episode.
So we're just going to gothrough it and get as far as we
get Now before we get started.
Understand that I enjoybiblical questions, I enjoy

(01:32):
biblical debating.
What I have to say, though, just to be in a moment of
honesty, I don't like uselessdebating.
So if we're going to talk aboutJesus' name, water, baptism,
let's talk about that.
But one of the things that Ithink we get in the world a lot

(01:53):
now is that, in order for us todebate anything or discuss
anything or teach anything, wehave to recognize the authority
of the Bible.
I know I haven't said this alot and I haven't said this in a
while, but we have to recognizethe authority of the Bible.
Everything that I I cannot.
I cannot bring my opinions in,I can't bring JJ's opinions in,

(02:19):
I cannot bring my feelings intoit, because my opinions or
feelings will not save eitheryou nor me, and it also won't
condemn you or condemn me.
My feelings don't really count.
The only thing that counts isthe word of God, and to that end
, to that end, I have to alsowhile I'm on that subject, you

(02:42):
know discuss the one rule of thepodcast.
The one rule of the podcast iswe talk a lot of scripture here,
and that's good.
However, it is easy to twistscripture out of context.
It's easy to take twoscriptures from two different
places in the Bible and make awhole doctrine out of them or a

(03:06):
sermon out of them or a pointout of them.
So we have a rule here, andthat rule here is always read a
verse or two above the scripturethat I'm talking about or we're
talking about today, or verseor two below, but preferably the
whole chapter.
Why?
Because context is key, andwhat we're going to talk about

(03:30):
today is going to really beginto expose some of that, and
hopefully that helps a lot asfar as why context is so key.
I was talking to somebody theother day and I said you know,
every single word has adifferent context, has a

(03:50):
different meaning in a differentcontext.
So we can't just naturally saythat a word is what a word is
without knowing the context.
For instance, if I say boom, you might actually think I'm
talking about an explosion, because an explosion goes boom.
But what if I say themicrophone guy held the boom?
He's not holding an explosionin his hand, he's holding the

(04:15):
piece of pipe that holds themicrophone, out of the distance
to be closer to the subjectbeing recorded.
It's a boom mic.
It's not an exploding mic, it'sjust a mic with a boom on it.
Cranes have booms, boom on it,cranes have booms.

(04:37):
So it's important to understandthat every word has its context
and we have to understand whatGod is saying.
We have to be able to readeverything in context.
So, verse two above, verse twobelow, but preferably the whole
chapter.
Okay, that being said, and alsoone more thing, because I'll
get into it and I'll forget thebest way to send me questions If

(04:59):
you don't have my personal textnumber, the first, the best way
To get questions to me Iswalkwithmebiblestudy At gmail.
Walkwithmebiblestudy At gmail.
Every once in a while I gettime, I can go to the YouTube
channel and look at some of thecomments and look at some of the

(05:20):
questions in the comments.
I, honestly, have not been tothe YouTube channel and that's
because I work a lot on my9-to-5.
But I do.
This is the best way becausethat comes right to my phone.
I can stop and make a note ofit and then, you know, start to.

(05:40):
I'll either send you a messageback I got your question or I
can just answer it really quick.
If it's a quick answer, I'llanswer it quick, but if it's a
long answer, I would generallytend to make an episode out of
it because it has to be done indepth.
Quick answers sometimes is notbiblical.
That being said, this questionis one of those questions and if

(06:10):
you want your name to be readwhen I'm addressing the question
, put it in the subject line.
Most people don't, because youknow people prefer to be
anonymous or non-in-kind needlein some of these discussions,
and I understand that, becauseyou know you'll walk with God.
But you'll walk with God, butyou'll walk with God as a matter

(06:32):
of the word of God, okay.
So, that being said, thequestion was why don't you
preach, believe on the LordJesus Christ Now, on the surface
, that seems like a very easyquestion to answer, but when you

(06:52):
start digging into it and youhave to backtrack to fill in the
blanks, it gets to be verycomplicated.
So, with that being said, I'mjust going to go ahead and start
from the beginning, and it'sprobably going to last about two
episodes.
So buckle up.
We're going to talk aboutBelieving in the Lord Jesus
Christ Now.

(07:15):
In John 20, 29, basically, itsays Blessed are they that have
not seen and yet and havebelieved.
Now what we're doing here iswe're saying you know, thank God
for the resurrection, becauseif there's no resurrection and
we have no resurrection day, wehave no tomb in Jerusalem,

(07:38):
gospels, myths, and what we havedone is we've believed in the
life.
So if Christ is not resurrected, then all we have done is
preached in vain because of whathe said.
You will know me because I willgo and I will come back every
day and what we're doing then iswe're praying to a dead savior,

(08:01):
if Christ does not, is notraised again, and basically
we're praying to a dead savior,we're praying for somebody that
doesn't exist anymore.
If he doesn't resurrect, we'restill in our sins.

(08:22):
There is bloodshed, but there'sno remission of sins, there's
no rite of Christ, there's nomillennium, there's no rapture,
the prophets died in vain, themartyrs leave in vain and it's
all complete hoax, that's all.
If there's no resurrection, ifthe dead rise, and the Bible is

(08:47):
the worst.
If the dead rise not, if thereis no resurrection, then the
Bible is the worst.
If the dead rise not, if thereis no resurrection, then the
Bible is the worst thing thathumanity has ever known.
It's the worst curse, becauseall of the hope that we put into
the Bible, everything, the waywe change, the way having the
Holy Ghost fills us and changesus and causes us to be, it's

(09:12):
nothing, it's all made up.
Now, once you start exploringthat, you start to think, well,
there's no such thing as rightand wrong and there's no moral
code and people just might aswell live how they want to live
and then do what they want to do.
As a matter of fact, it startsin the Old Testament, right

(09:33):
before a judgment of God, wheremen kind of did what was right
in their own eyes.
And if you read thosescriptures you're thinking,
probably, because you're apretty good person, you're
probably thinking, oh well, youknow, I may do a little wrong
thing, but it was kind of right, but I thought it was right.
When the Bible talks about it,though, it's in the context of

(09:59):
if I felt like I wanted to burnyour house down, I could burn
your house down Because it wasright in my eyes and I dare you
to stop that kind of thing.
Dare you to stop me that kindof thing.
If I wanted to take your sheepbecause it grazed on my land, I
could take your sheep and grazeon my land, and then you could
have war with my men, and it wasalways conflict.

(10:23):
What people did was brightentheir own eyes.
Always conflict, alwaysbloodshed.
And one of the other problemswith that kind of thinking is
that it matters.
It changes how we deal witheach other.
We don't deal with each otherwith the mindset hey, you know
what?
There's Christ?
There's Christ that has toguide our thinking.

(10:48):
There's no right and wrong,it's just what we think.
And there's another thing tooIf there's no resurrection of
wrong, this is what we think.
And here's another thing too Ifthere's no resurrection of the
dead, there's no resurrection ofthe wicked dead either, and no
one will have to be responsiblefor sin.
Now, I know a lot of placesdon't say anything about these

(11:10):
things.
They don't preach about thesethings anymore, but that is
still in the Bible.
The baptism becomes void, ourfaith is empty, we're preaching
a false report and sin is justsome sort of weird mental
illusion.
And, believe it or not, you seepeople marching in the streets
right now with that exactmentality.

(11:32):
Sin is just a mental illusion,or they'll use the term societal
construct Now.
But ask yourself something whatkind of meaning would be to life

(11:53):
if there was no resurrection?
How many ways would that reallyaffect the way we live?
How many ways does that changehow we feel about our fellow man
, how we interact, all thethings we do?
What if, when we read theaccount of the resurrection of

(12:16):
Matthew, mark, luke and John, that there may seem to be some
discrepancy or contradiction inthe scripture?
But how do we deal with that?
Now, understand that all thefour writers and I'm going to go
into a different subject, I'llcome back to the other subject
understand that all the fourwriters and I'm going to go into
a different subject, I'll comeback to the other subject.
When the four writers wrotethese events, they all had their

(12:41):
own perspective, even thoughthey were under the direction of
the Holy Ghost, and they werevery careful to write about the
thing they were telling andtelling it how it took place.
But if there's no Holy Ghost, then how are they all writing
the same thing unless they'restanding at the same place at

(13:02):
the same time?
And the Bible clearly says thatthey weren't there.
And they all had differentexperiences after that, up until
they went to the mountain ofwhat we call the mountain of
transfiguration, in other words, john sort of begins it in the

(13:27):
beginning, when it was yet dark.
So it was still dark outside Inthe light of the moon, it was
still dark, the night wasn'tover yet.
John and Matthew says is that asit begins dawn and you know
that there's a differencebetween when it was dark and
when dawn is coming where thesky turns that pretty shade of

(13:50):
deep blue before the sun comesup and it's just like a and you
see that little faint glow oforange on the horizon.
That's towards the beginning ofdawn.
And again, this is what we goback to earlier when we're
talking about how words have tobe taken in context, because,
because I could describe thesame thing to you and your ears

(14:16):
can see or your mind can see, based on what you hear something
differently from what I amtrying to portray to you, if I
leave out various importantpieces that I don't think is
important, but it's important toyou the way you perceive it.
Luke says it's very early inthe morning.

(14:36):
Now that can mean anything Topeople who get up at 11 o'clock.
8 o'clock is very early in themorning.
For me, being that I generallywork nights.
4am is very early in themorning, but Most people, when
dawn is well broken, like withMark, very early in the morning,

(14:59):
at the rising of the sun, wealready have the breaking of day
there.
So all four times Seem quitedifferent, and it was Stated
clearly To show us the exacttime of their Reckoning.
So this is why it's importantwhen you read in the Bible,
stated clearly to show us theexact time of their record.

(15:20):
So this is why it's importantwhen you read in the Bible, you
always read the entire chapter.
We all know that it was in themorning, and this is where a lot
of people begin to start toquibble.
Well, it was still dark and itwas just breaking of day.
Now, it was just breaking ofday and now it was early dawn
and we start quabbling overthings that make no sense.

(15:40):
And then, well, not that itmakes no sense, it's not as
important as what happened.
We start quibbling about whenit happened.
We start hearing people usingterms like hermeneutics and
hermeneutics andcross-referencing Greek and and
hebrew and latin scriptures, andoh my god.
And then and then you'll dosomething like jay-z does, say

(16:03):
hey, wait a minute, that worddoesn't belong there, not in the
king's name, it shouldn't bethere, like the word easter, you
know.
So now I'm going somewhere withthis, so trust me when I tell
you believing in the lord jesuschrist is not just being able to
say it, if there's a thing thathas to happen with it.

(16:27):
Now, after the crucifixion, right, anis is still afraid of
Jesus and he goes to Pilate withnew orders and he says hey, man
, why don't you put a guard towatch the tomb for three days?
Because the disciples alreadybelieve this guy.
This guy is a fake and fraud.

(16:47):
Put some guards over there andI want you to watch the tomb and
make sure nobody goes and takesthem.
As a matter of fact, it'sreally wonderful to talk about
this because I just had a sermonabout for Resurrection Day,

(17:10):
about people, about this wholescenario, about the guards and
how they lied, and I think it'sposted on YouTube.
So if you're watching this onYouTube, it'll be on that
resurrection.
Okay, he says the guards aregoing to say, hey, jesus is

(17:31):
risen, but in actualityity, westole the body so you can come
and see and we can fake it allbecause we believe so much.
This would still be believingon the Lord Jesus Christ, would
it not?
Because now, if theresurrection that we were just
talking about earlier did nothappen.
We are now going to believe alot.

(17:55):
So Pil pilot says okay, um, goahead and make yourself some,
make yourself a platoon of guys, squad of guys, go and sit on
the tomb and and just kind of um, just kind of observe it.
It's kind surveillance and I'lltell you right now, I used to
actually do privateinvestigations and surveillance

(18:17):
is some of the most boring workyou'll ever see in your life.
It really is.
It really is.
You just sit in a spot and youwatch, and you watch and the
moment you blink and you closeoff, the thing that you're
waiting to happen happens.
So surveillance is a crazything.
Blink and you doze off, thething that you're waiting to
happen happens.
So being surveillance is acrazy thing.

(18:37):
So the other thing that'simportant about these guards is
that they're life dependent onthat body not being dragged out
of the cell.
So that's why they really hadto go to the lot.

(18:58):
Again, we're talking about justleaving on the Lord, jesus
Christ.
Now they sealed the body up inthe tomb.
They rolled a heavy stone on it.
They used a sealant on the tomb, because that's how they did in
those days, they sealed thebody in the tomb because as the

(19:18):
body decomposed, they didn'twant the smell to come out and
be all over the place.
So that was pretty bad.
So they would literally put youin the tomb and then they would
seal the stone up and you wouldjust be in there.
Now that would be Seal thestone up and you would just be
in there.
Now, that would be like Tellinglet's just say, I walked up to

(19:43):
a cop that I don't want the sunto rise tomorrow.
Make sure the gates of heavenare closed.
Gates of the morning are keptclosed.
Now, I know that sounds a littleweird to say, but even that
would be easier, keeping God inthat.
But we're talking aboutbelieving in the Lord Jesus

(20:04):
Christ.
What exactly are you believing?
On See, just saying believe inthe Lord Jesus Christ.
And I think we say it in a waythat makes it so simple oh, yeah
, yeah, jesus exists, yeah, yeah, he's God, he's son of God.
He walked around, he threwflowers everywhere and yeah,

(20:26):
yeah, yeah, yeah, I believe, Ibelieve.
Yes, yes, yes, I believe.
But what are you reallybelieving?
Yes, I believe, but what areyou really believing?
And when you consider whatyou're really believing.
You're believing on the LordJesus Christ.
You are believing and right nowwe're just talking about the
resurrection, because theresurrection proved everything

(20:50):
that he said.
I know he did miracles and somepeople, when they say I believe
in the Lord Jesus Christ, they're simply believing on the
miracles that he did Turning thewater into wine, giving sight
to the blind, raising peoplefrom the dead.
This is what they say when theybelieve in the Lord Jesus
Christ.
This is what comes to theirmind.

(21:11):
Are you really believing in theLord Jesus Christ or are you
believing on the fact that hewas crucified for our sins and
rose again?
So John sort of tells us whathappens.
It was still dark, no one hadbeen sleeping, jesus was gone.

(21:32):
Mary, mary Macklin, had someother women that had been on the
grave Almost non-stop, and thenthey Watched them seal the tomb
, they watched them prep thebody and they had only been gone
Long enough to observe theSabbath.
Now, me personally this is whatwe're being told They've only

(21:59):
gone long enough to observe theSabbath.
The Sabbath would have had tohave been Sunday.
Why is that?
Because that was the seventhday of the week.
The first day of the week Wouldhave been Monday Because
Passover was on a Thursday.
Okay, alright, so the Passoverin which the Lamb was slain, in

(22:24):
which Jesus was crucified, hasto have been on a Thursday.
Why he was in the tomb forthree days, three nights.
So you got Friday, saturday, sunday, that would be the third
day.
So that Sunday would have beenthe past, would have been the
Sabbath JJ.
What are you talking about?

(22:44):
Understand that we areconsidering this whole timeline
as a Roman calendar, and on aRoman calendar our first day of
the week was Sunday, but in theHebrew calendar it was not.
The Hebrew calendar first dayof the week was Sunday, but in
the Hebrew calendar it was not.
In the Hebrew calendar thebeginning of the week starts
with Monday, not Sunday.
Okay, now that we've got thatestablished and you see I'm

(23:05):
almost out of time.
So they came around the firstday of the week.
They had left just long enoughto observe the Sabbath, because
you couldn't move, you couldn'tdo anything, you couldn't work.
I mean, if you did, it would betrouble for you, for you and

(23:32):
mary magdalene also had to beconcerned about somebody
stealing the body and maybe evendissipating the body, because
she comes down and she's walkingthrough jerusalem when it's
still dark and she knew that atsome point right about this time
, or at least between 6 am and 6pm, which is the jewish day.

(23:55):
Well, 6 am and 6 am at somepoint that's the third day after
three days he was going to riseagain.
So mary wanted to get downthere fast, did not want
somebody to do something withthe body and make it a line.
Why was Mary so stressed aboutgetting down there?

(24:21):
Really, we're talking aboutMary Magdalene.
We're not talking about MaryJoseph's wife.
We're talking about MaryMagdalene.
Mary, we're not talking aboutMary Joseph's wife.
We're talking about MaryMagdalene.
Mary Magdalene was a person whohad had so many things that
Jesus had done for her.
He had forgiven her of so manysins.

(24:42):
He had forgiven her and had somany demons cast out.
So many demons cast out.
The Bible says it was sevendemons and we also know, if
we're reading the Bible, whatJesus said if you don't take
care of your temple, once thedemons are cast out, each one
goes and gets seven works.

(25:03):
So if you start off with seven, you'll have 49 before you
realize it, and then it getsworse.
From there it getsexponentially worse, and after
Jesus had cast those sevendemons out of her and forgiven
her of her sins.
She had followed himsteadfastly.
There we're still talking onbelieving on the Lord.

(25:26):
She had her sins forgiven andthe demons cast out of her.
So and we have to stop heretoday because, as we already see
, believing on the Lord JesusChrist is not just something you
say, it's something you reallybelieve and understand and know
what it is that you arebelieving in and why you're

(25:50):
believing in and why you'rebelieving it.
You're not saying I believe inthe Lord Jesus Christ because,
well, I just don't want to be asinner.
No, you're believing that hedied for your sins, you're
believing that his blood remitsyour sins, and that's going to

(26:10):
play a lot into what we talkabout, what that really means.
So this is going to be probablya couple episodes, but I don't
want to put it all in oneepisode because I don't want to
bore you to death.
So I love each and every one ofyou.
We will be continuing this nextweek and, as we get ready to go

(26:31):
on our family reunion, I willprobably be broadcasting
remotely, but I love you all somuch.
God bless each and every one ofyou.
Thank you.
Tell somebody about the podcast.
Thank you for sharing it.
Thank you for engaging andsending me questions.
You thought you probablythought when you sent this
question it was just going to bea simple answer.
Thank you for engaging andsending me questions.
You thought you probablythought when you sent this

(26:52):
question it was just going to bea simple answer.
But this kind of question takesa lot of answers because we
kind of dealt with it in such alackadaisical manner when it
comes to church.
But I thank you for sending methe questions.
