To to two Beard a nerd, We're going to our
first r expo this weekend. Any suggestions bearded nerd?

Speaker 1 (00:20):
You like you're totally tracking with us tonight because that
was our topic tonight is r V shows and RV
expos Because listen, guys, this is the most wonderful time.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Welcome to the Wandering RV Show.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Your source for our stories, our scrips, and our success
is living the full time RV life.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
I almost forgot about that. Uh, this is my this
is I'm care the wandering our reader. This is my
driver Ryan. I totally flubbed that up. We're gonna keep
it in Hi.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
How much apple juice have you had?

Speaker 3 (00:55):
I've had a little bit of apple juice today and
it's been lovely.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
It makes it more fun when there's apple juice.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
It does make it more fun. But we're talking about
the most wonderful time of years, which is.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Our RV show season.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
Yes, so RV show season. I will say it's a
little bit of a misnomer. R V shows happen all
throughout the year, but RV show season it kind of
kind of starts with the Hershey Show in usually in
September in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and that's where they start to

(01:27):
kind of tease some of the newer models for the
next year. Very much like any other vehicle or car manufacturer,
they come out with some of their newer models then
and then there is the Tampa Show or the Florida
The Florida are.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
The Florida RV Show because you're not allowed to call
it the Tampa RV Show. Believe me, we've gotten in
trouble for it.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Well, okay, so the reason why is there is an
actual Tampa RV show that happens later in the year
that's much much smaller, same location, but much smaller. And
then there's the Florida RV Soon Show and that happens
in January every year. We go to that one every
single year. Some of the other ones, the local ones,
sometimes the Hurshy one, we might be able to get to,
but we definitely hit the Florida Show in January every year,

(02:12):
and that is where if they haven't already debuted their
new year model.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
They will and you have I don't know.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Countless new RV models coming out at that show, and
that kind of is like the real official slash unofficial
kickoff of RV show season, and then after that you
get all of the local RV shows.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Yeah, so real quick, I'm gonna I'm gonna shout out
some people. I know some of y'all are commenting waiting
for us to respond. DKC Customs in.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
The chat, Hey what's up, Danny?

Speaker 2 (02:46):
He says, Hey, guys, how are y'all?

Speaker 3 (02:48):
I missed the one near me.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
In New York in February. Oh wait, there's an RV
show in February in New York.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
That's there is snow. How cold was it? Yeah? I
need details. I need Most people don't.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Really want to r V in the winter time unless
they're just crazy well, and nobody's really in.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
The mood to. I feel like, personally, I'm not in
the mood to buy an RV when it gets cold outside,
so right, like just maybe that's just me. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Chili is cool because then it's like camp fire season,
but like frigid no way. So yeah, I'm very curious
about these like super northern ones where it's in the
middle of winter and you have an RV show.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Ms you Dog eight says he loves watching our videos.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
Oh thanks, MSU dog eight.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
So what do you got for our RV shows?

Speaker 1 (03:39):
So I was gonna talk a little bit about the
difference between the big national shows like Hershey and the
Florida RV super show that's in Tampa, which we're gonna
end up calling the Tampa Show.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
Don't get it, can confused.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
We're not going to the tiny little one.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Yeah, and the local shows. So there's all kinds of
local shows that happen. In fact, this weekend, the Arlington
Show is happening Texas. Yeah, Arlington, Texas is happening and
it is massive. They're having it at the Star. It's huge.
I don't actually know if it's considered a national show
or a local show, but we thought we would talk

(04:16):
a little bit about the differences between going to one
of the bigger RV shows we'll use that as the
common term, and the more local, smaller shows.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Dj C Customs says, yes, he was plowing snow while
the RV show was going on.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
See that just does not inspire me.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
To I don't. It doesn't inspire me to buy a camper.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
It inspires me to be inside a stixon bricks home
or structure with a fireplace.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Count this thing gets hot, this thing gets cold. Between.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
Yeah, campers are not really designed for extreme weather. I
promised that was just me Like, no, I didn't.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
You on Live. I think she farted comments.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Listen, guys, if I started on Live TikTok, I would
totally own it.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
I did not.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
Tammy says she's gonna be at the Hershey RV show.
She lives there near there, so she said she see us. Sorry, Okay, awesome.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
So the the interesting thing about the Live or about
the national shows is there is so many more options
to go look at. So if you're not sure which
type of camper you want, that one's a really good
one to go to, because you're gonna go get and
get to see literally everything new that's coming out, whether

(05:35):
it's you know, a class a motor home or a
truck camper, or a pop up tent trailer or a
travel trailer or a fifth wheel or some little tear drop,
you're gonna see all of them. The problem with the
big national shows is they're big, and so you can
get overwhelmed really quickly.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
You can get what we call r V drunk, which
is very similar too.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
If you've ever bought a house and you went house
shot dout and and all the floor plans just start
to run together. That happens really, really easily. The local
shows are really nice.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
For the heart. Oh it was like a heart on
my head.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Yep from I don't know how to read that name.
I'm sorry, my man, it's oh it's cyrillic of some sort.
I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
Oh, well, awesome, Well, thank you so much for the
heart anyway.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
But the local shows are are nice because you're not
necessarily going to get the huge variety.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
So if you're really.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Picky about the floor plan you're looking at, if you're
really picky about the rig that you're looking at, you
may or may not see that particular model at a
local show, but you're probably not going to get as
overwhelmed at a local show.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
The other nice thing about just our V shows in
general is you get a chance to walk through all
of the models without a salesperson just sitting there like
roaming behind you and pestering you the whole time now
double edged sword with that is like if you actually
find one that you really really love, you kind of
have to like go chase them down to go ask

(07:06):
questions sometimes, but you're still gonna be able to walk
through at your leisure, not feel like your rush rose
oh all the things and oh wait, we gotta do Then.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
That was like a don't even talk about it, gyna.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
What does it typically cost to get into these r shows?

Speaker 3 (07:28):
Oh, that's a good question. Who is that from?

Speaker 2 (07:31):
That was from Tammy.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Tammy, so Tammy. So the national shows are generally gonna
cost you money. They might cost you money to park.
They might cost you money to get into the show.
Usually it's between ten and twenty bucks, but that could
be split between parking and tickets. The local shows a
lot of times, a lot of times, I'm not gonna

(07:54):
say every time, but often they will have free parking
and free admission, so that that is also a plus
one for the local shows, minus one for the big
RV shows. It depends on where you're at and where
you're going and the facilities that are being used. But
the sometimes it's free and sometimes it costs a little

(08:15):
bit of money.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Yeah, that's fair. That's Tammy says, that's not a bad price.
Dk C says, for him, at least it's fifteen bucks.
Oh okay, but free parking.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
Oh that's not bad.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
No, that's not bad. That's not bad.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
A lot of times too, they'll have like they'll have
food vendors. They'll have what's weird to me, the weirdest
thing in the entire.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
World to me.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
And I've seen this at both Hershey and Tampa is
they'll have vendors for like your backyard patio as well.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
Oh yeah, that's so weird.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
And I'm sure I don't, like I have to rationalize it.
And I'm like, I'm sure that they're appealing to campgrounds
or r V parks that are trying to put like
these luxury sites in, or they're trying to put like
common places in. But legit, there will be hot tub
retailers and the ones that like build out these outdoor
decks with these huge, massive grills and things like that.

(09:09):
And I'm like, you realize you're at an RV show, right, Like.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Really, dk C points out a great point. There's there's
local like food trucks and beer, so like apple juice,
apple juice that you can consume while you're there and
really get into it and have some fun. Ye, Like,
it's not like an it's not so it's not super sterile.
I want to say that, Like, Yeah, when you're going

(09:33):
to these RV shows, it's kind of just like going
to a fair. There's gonna be things to do, there's
gonna be things to eat, there's gonna be things to drink.
And what's nice about it is you're just going and
kind of enjoying yourself, having some fun. You're gonna get
to look at some RV's there. The smaller shows are
gonna have less dealers, vendors, et cetera who're gonna be there.
But maybe some of those smaller shows are gonna be

(09:55):
better because you're working with your local dealers and not
necessarily the big chains, which, by the way, some of
the big chains don't have a great reputation.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
Yeah, I think that's a fair point. So a lot
of times the local shows are put on by two, three,
four five local dealers, and the bigger shows are really
sponsored by some of the big guns that you that
are national brands that you're gonna know about.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
You're gonna hear about that damn not, I have the
best reputation.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
So that is kind of a nice thing too, is
like you get a little bit of that niche, kind
of boutique feel at some of those local shows, whereas
the big national shows. It's a big national show, it's huge,
it's massive. It feels like the state fair kind of
vibe to it. It's like you're walking around a parking
lot for you know, fifteen miles round trip out of

(10:48):
the whole day.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
So it's a little bit of a give and take there.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
So I'm gonna okay, So guys, if you're putting questions
into chat, oh, here's what I'm gonna try to do
is I'm gonna tr try my best to evaluate each
of the questions based off how they applied to the conversation.
If you're talking about the RV Show, then I'm gonna
give it more priority. If it's not part of the
RV Show, then it may get a little bit lesser priority,
but I will ask it. Karen, do we have a

(11:14):
golf cart?

Speaker 3 (11:15):
No, we don't.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
Actually, that's actually not a bad point. So we do
not have a golf cart. There are campgrounds that will
not allow golf carts in but one of the things
that you might want to consider is like, how do
you want to RV?

Speaker 3 (11:30):
How do you want to travel?

Speaker 1 (11:31):
If you want to travel with a golf cart, you
probably want to consider a toy hauller, So that would
be something that you would want to target. And a
lot of the RV shows will have toy haulers in
a specific section, and then they'll have different types of
fifth wheels in a specific section, and then they'll have
Class A motor homes in.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
A specific section.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
So it's really nice because you can see like all
of them all together and then you can just walk
around them.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
What's up our balance? Uh uh? So here's a question.
So I'm gonna I'm gonna, I'm gonna kind of I'm sorry,
guy with the cyrillic name. I'm gonna I'm gonna butcher
your question and your name and try to like work
that in to If.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
You give us the phonetic spelling, then we will try
our best to pronounce it correctly.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
Buying us versus new But I think that leads into
one of our points of buying locally versus buying at
the show.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
Yeah, okay, so there is merit to both.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
I will say that It depends on your use case scenario,
depends on your circumstance. If you're going to an RV show,
chances are you're gonna be buying new. What that comes
with is local dealers who will or national dealers who
may have service contracts, service warranties, things like that, which

(12:46):
is helpful for sure if you're buying a new camper. Okay,
I'm gonna totally spill the beans with you guys. And
if you're a manufacturing RB manufacturer and you're watching this,
you're gonna hate my guts or dealerships. You're gonna hate
gus for telling you this. New campers are not what
they used to be. No, they're kind of crappy, yeah earlier. Yeah,

(13:07):
the quality of the new campers now are not the
quality of the twenty seventeen, twenty eighteen and prior campers.
The whole term COVID camper is truly a thing. Uh
And unfortunately, a lot, probably the vast majority of the
manufacturers have kept their very very very low quality standards

(13:30):
since COVID. So while I will say buying new is
great because you get a warranty with that and you
can take it potentially back to the same place that
you purchased it from, which they'll give you marginal better service.
If you purchased your RV from them, yeah, might still
get taken.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
So but here's the thing about local versus buying nationally.
So if you've got an RV chain, I'm gonna use
this as an example. I'm not gonna call them out specifically,
but let's say camping World. You buy your RV from
Camping World. One of the advantages that, depending on where
you're at.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
Glamping globe, you buy it from Glamping.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
You buy that lamping globe. And here's the thing. You
buy it from them. You know there's going to be
a glamping globe down the road from you, and you
can likely get all the work done because here's the thing.
You if you travel to an RV show, you're you're
buying from likely some sort of local dealer. Now, are
they potentially national on top of that, yes, of course,

(14:29):
But are they local only? That's also a possibility. So
we got like we're in Southeast Florida right now, We've
got La Mesa, We've got Camping World, Lazy Day, Lazy Days.
I don't even know. There's probably several and.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
Then there's tons of general RV and then there's tons
of just.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
Lots of lots of different opportunities to buy local. But
here's the thing is, if you don't live near a
general RV or a La Mesa or a Lazy Days,
what good does that do you? If you need to
get any work done, you live in and I don't know,
maybe there's a La Mesa or Lazy Days here. But
if you live in Ohio and you need.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
To and I know you're gonna say Ohio.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
Because Ohio is the middle of nowhere. Oklahoma is the
most Okay state. Ohio is the middle of nowhere. I
promise guys, I'll read your comments in a second.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
They do have the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,
that is true.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
But if you're in the middle of Ohio and none
of those campgrounds are are those camping camper shops?

Speaker 3 (15:26):
What's the word dealership?

Speaker 2 (15:27):
Dealership? That's the word? Yeah, yeah, that makes sense. If
none of those dealerships are near you, then it doesn't
do you a lot of good if you need to
get any work done, because it's far easier to get
the work done at the dealership. Right now, Granted, if
you're in Ohio. You're also near Indiana, where most of
the r v's are born, and so going to where
they're born you might have a good chance of getting

(15:47):
some work done. So those are kind of the the
ifs and nots. I personally like to buy my RV
from a local RV shop, only not a local, but
a at least an occasional a regional rate a chain
that's going to be near me at least, so that way,
if I need to take it in for work, especially
during that first year, it's more After that first trip,

(16:09):
it's far more convenient.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
Yeah, I think that's another another valid point. If you
buy an RV from an RV show that you really
traveled a long way to go to, and then you're
traveling a long way to get back. It really helps
to do a what we call a shakedown trip where
you take your RV someplace really short distance, less than

(16:30):
forty five minutes away, and you spend the night and
you do all the things, You run, all of the tanks,
you do all of the things that you would normally
do camping, and you kind of shake it down and
see what things fall, and then you have an opportunity
and hopefully build out buffer time period to be able.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
Are you getting beered love?

Speaker 2 (16:52):
Yes, I'm gett.

Speaker 3 (16:54):
To get work done.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
If you're traveling halfway across the country to buy your
RV and then you drive all the way back halfway
across the country, we have heard horror stories of people
who got blowouts on their way back, who had their
slides not be able to come in on their way back.
That is not a great scenario to be in. And

(17:17):
when you've just purchased an R and B and you
either purchased it used which means it has no warranty,
you have no dealership contacts things like that, or you
purchased it from a local shop, then you might be
paying more and spending a lot longer time than you
anticipated halfway in your route to get things fixed.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
So our cyrillic friend said, his name is kray Odic.
I hope crayotic, Crayotic. Okay, I hope I'm not purching that.
And he sent you eight goats eat you know you're
eight times the greatest of all time.

Speaker 3 (17:54):
Oh, I was thinking like goat milk, and I thank you.
Craig created Cytic.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
Heavy Duty says the prices of new RVs have gone
through the roof.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
Oh yes, yes they have.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
And no, here's the thing. We did a short on this,
a reel on this, a TikTok on this, whatever you
want to call it, not too long ago, where if
you really look at it, the MSRPs are complete BS.
Don't believe they're total.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
Their total BS.

Speaker 1 (18:24):
Now I will say the price is absolutely gone up.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
This is going to answer you too.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
Sorry, I I drink my apple chuice the wrong way.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
Yeah, we're drinking apple juice toe because we're on TikTok. Uh,
so bearded nerd. So we're going to get into this
in the same conversation Beard nerd ass. Sorry, go ahead,
Bearded nerd ass. With exposor shows. Are vendors more expensive
or decently priced compared to Amazon? Well vendors. Okay, so
you're talking about accessories there, accessories.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
Okay, so let's talk about campers first and we'll get
into accessories. So the campers themselves MSRP ignore it, I mean,
like completely ignore MSRP because we have gone to the
big shows where they're debuting their.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
Newest model.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
Yes, you would think that that means that like MSRP
is like a firm number. No, it's already like forty
to fifty percent off MSRP at the brand new shows
where they're debuting the brand new models. So you know,
and we've seen this ourselves, that the dealership down the street,

(19:37):
who either is not participating in that particular RV show
or maybe has one unit participating in that RV show,
but they maybe have another model that you haven't even
seen at the show, is gonna be just as competitive
in pricing. So consider that. And that's only regarding the
new ones. If you think about it, regarding like a

(19:59):
used they'd depreciate just like other vehicles.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
So think about it.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Brand new RV, brand new year model, brand new debut
in January, forty percent off already. Yeah, you buy one
in a couple months after somebody's taken it out twice
and decided that RV life not so much for me,
and you can probably get that sucker sixty eighty percent off.

Speaker 2 (20:24):
Well, and maybe that's the potential argument to kind of
think of is Okay, if you go to an RV show,
maybe you don't do or don't buy an RV there,
that's up to you, But say you don't, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (20:36):
It's it's a great way to just get ideas.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
It's a great way to get ideas, and it's a
great way to look at pricing and be like, yeah,
this thing is listed for one hundred thousand. Yes, believe me,
they are listed that much. This thing is listed for
one hundred thousand MSRP. But they're selling it at the
show for sixty thousand. That means realistically, this thing's worth
forty or fifty thousand. Now, does that mean you're gonna

(20:58):
be able to buy it for forty or fifty thousand?
Maybe not New.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
Yeah, Well, because that's the other thing with New is
there's a lot of dealers that will tack on extra
fees that are complete and total bullshit.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
Can I say that?

Speaker 2 (21:10):
I think take a pause. It was okay, So we
all got sick.

Speaker 3 (21:16):
We're still getting over it.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
We're still getting over so this is we've been trying
to get back into the schedule of our lives. We
got sick about two weeks ago and we're still dealing
with this cough. I'm sorry. Yeah, yes, heavy duty. It
is Apple juice. Apple Listen, We're on TikTok. It is
Apple Apple juice. Chraatic. Thanks for the sharing the live.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
Oh thanks for sharing.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
What were we talking about the pricing? So like yeah,
so like if if if it's listed at one hundred
and it's a it's MSRP of one hundred, then but
at the show at sixty, then you know that their
margins are pretty wide and you can expect forty to
fifty probably fifty five is what you can realistically expect
by the end of the year. So if you something

(22:00):
you fall in love with, wait till the end of
the year and you could probably get it for that,
or you can wait till you find one used and
go get it used. Now here's the thing with used.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
I remembered what I was gonna say, and you teed
me up for a different conversation. So I'm gonna say
the first thing first and then I'm gonna talk about
the other. I'm sorry, It's okay, no, no, no, you could
not read my mind.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
It's totally fun.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
So if you buy it from a dealership, just know
they are gonna a lot of them are gonna attack
on extra fees. They're gonna tack on a transportation fee,
They're gonna tack on a.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
Another hurt from Dustin.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
Oh thanks usin an inventory fee like they're gonna tack
on all kinds of shit push back on that because
they're keeping inventory, because they're a dealership, they have to
keep inventory. They shouldn't be passing that on to the consumer.
There are other RV content creators that do a ton
more on this, So like that RV guy has a

(22:52):
ton more stuff talking about that, and then the savvy,
unhinged RV chick, she does a ton of stuff on
like the fees that dealers charge that are totally bogused,
so go check them out before you actually buy something
if you're buying it from a dealership.

Speaker 3 (23:07):
Now used. So buying used is.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
Really good because a lot of times, as I said before,
you're gonna find RVs that are gently used. Somebody bought
their RV brand new, they took it out once or twice,
and our liquor store is right behind here.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
Our liquor cabinet is right behind here.

Speaker 2 (23:27):
At Apple Juice, our Apple.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
Juice cabinet is right behind here.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
And you're gonna be able to find a very gently
used RV if you're a savvy buyer, for a lot
less than what you would be paying at a dealership
because it is used and it's a depreciating asset, so
those are also really really great things to do. Rbtrader
dot com is an incredible resource. In fact, the dealerships

(23:55):
use rbtrader dot com, so it's great for both new
and used UH campers.

Speaker 3 (23:59):
And if you're looking in your juice or you're looking
in there we go.

Speaker 1 (24:09):
Whether you're looking locally or you're looking across the nation,
you can find the camper that you're looking for at
rbtrader dot com. We're not endorsed by them, we're not
sponsored by them, but we do use them when we
want to like look up a new.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
Model that we're just pricing on on selling.

Speaker 1 (24:25):
Our model, yeah exactly, or like so we when we
go to RV shows, we do kind of our camper
sends RV reviews and we will look up the the
model in advance and then we'll look it up afterwards
as well to see like what it's buying for, other
complaints that people have made, other pros, like you know,
benefits that people have talked about, and rbtrader dot com

(24:48):
is a really great place to be able to see
all of that information.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
Okay, Number two says, do you really want to buy
an RV at the show where a bunch of people
walk through it and open stuff hundreds of times.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
That is a really really good point. I would say,
probably not. But that's just me personally. Uh, there's lots
of people that are like, you know what, I'm a
weeken warrior. I'm gonna take it out a few times
a year. I don't really care. And you get a
huge discount if you buy the RV show model.

Speaker 3 (25:20):
Yeah, so you know, it depends on how you're gonna
use it. Us.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
We live in ours full time, We travel in ours
full time. Do I want a bunch of people trapsing
through opening shit hundreds of times before I buy it? No,
because I'm gonna be thee hundred and one time and
it's gonna break on me the moment that I opened it.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
All Right, I'm gonna hit a couple of comments and
then I'm gonna answer your question heavy duty, Okay, okay,
Tammy says, and older ones are built better too, that
is true. Pre covid. Pre covid, I would say, like
like twenty eighteen before, Yeah, RV Trader is the number
one source. I wouldn't go that far. I would say

(25:59):
r tree is a great resource, but not it gets
you started, it could end up being your number one
source sometimes but not always, So don't necessarily rely on that.
Don't treat it that way. Heavy Duty then asked, do
the solar panels really run the whole system? Okay, so
I'm gonna.

Speaker 3 (26:18):
Answer somebody question.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
Somebody actually answer your question pretty quickly. Tammy did and
said no. But I'm gonna go a step further, and
I'm gonna say, don't believe a word that an RV
sales person tells you, because here's the thing about anything
I've had RV cells. People say, yeah, your truck can
pull that. No, you can'tnot pull that. No, And I
have a RAM thirty five. I have a single rear wheel,

(26:42):
so I don't have a dually. So granted we do
have some limited We do have some limited not many,
but not many. But there have been plenty of r
vs where I can look at it and say, no,
there's no way my single rear wheel truck is going
to pull that trailer.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
Like the payload capacity alone would be too much, and
they're like, oh no, you're gone.

Speaker 2 (26:57):
So so when it is, so, you brought out the
point of solar panel being able to run everything what
I want to broaden that to is when a dealer
says or a salesperson says, hey, you can do this,
you can do that, you can do this, you can
do that. Come in with as much information as possible.
Come to our live, ask us questions if if we
if we know the answer, we'll answer it for you.
We have connections with that r V tech and we.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
Have connections with battle Born, which makes batteries, and.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
So if we don't know the answer, we'll find it
out for you. Like we may not be able to
answer it in the live, and give us a little
bit of grace on that. But if you ask a
question alive and it really stands out to us and
we're like, man, I don't know the answer that question,
I guarantee you we're gonna look into it and we're
gonna do a video on it. Because it's better that
you go into the buying situation knowing what you can toe,

(27:47):
what the RV is gonna do, what it can do,
what it can't do. So like our r V, we're
solar prepped, so we have no solar panels, but we have.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
Careful of that term too, so but we.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
Have batteries that we'll charge off of the solar. Well,
here's the thing. Those batteries will not last overnight between
when the sun is out and when the sun is down.
So it doesn't do us any good to be solar prepped. Now, granted,
we can't run everything. The only thing we actually run
off would run off of our batteries is our fridge,
and we still can't make it through the night. So

(28:21):
being solar prep doesn't do us any good.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
So well, and the reason why is in our particular
camper we have. I'm gonna say this wrong, so he's
gonna correct me here in a minute. We have one
hundred and twenty volt residential sized fridge that suckers sucks
the juice out of all of our batteries. So, yes,
if we had a solar powered unit, potentially we could

(28:46):
eke out a little bit more power. If we had
a generator, we could eke out more power and we
could probably run a little bit longer. The prop And
there's other RVs that don't have that same type of refrigerator.

Speaker 3 (28:59):
Yeah, no, can drive.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
Down you've got a propane fridge then, like, yeah, totally
different story.

Speaker 1 (29:04):
Yeah, you're totally good if you have a full propane
unit and you have your batteries on board and you
have that kind of a fridge, you're not going to
have the same problems we have. And so in that case,
you might be able to run overnight with just your
RV batteries that come with your unit, rather than having
to expend a lot of extra money on solar or
generators or extra batteries or things like that. But you

(29:27):
may not be able to do that depending on your
particular rick. And that's the big deal is you have
to consider what is the power draw of everything in
your unit and what do you need to run overnight.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
An RV show is the epitome and not again, I'm
gonna move on from the solar conversation and move to
the more global conversation. The RV show is a high
pressure situation where they're offering you these deep, deep discounts,
which again are going to come back around by the
end of the year. So don't they'll come back around
in a month. Well okay, we don't know that for
a fact, but they'll come back around, ye yeah. And

(30:02):
what you what you're looking for is you don't want
to get pressured into a situation to buy something without
having all the information. Okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna jump
into a couple of comments here.

Speaker 3 (30:11):
Okay, go ahead.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
I this is somebody who clearly has some experience. Silver
Sides forty eight says RV's are fixed every night from
damages that day. Boy, I have stories on Hershey.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
I would love to hear your stories.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
We actually have stories as well, Yes, because when we've
gone to Hershey and Tampa, those shows are almost an
entire week long, yeah, I mean, or some of.

Speaker 3 (30:38):
Them are over a week.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
We walk into some of these multiple times.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
Yeah, we walk into some of the multiple times and
like they're they're jacked up, They're they're broken. They have
trim that's broken, They've drawers that are broken. Things like
that on day one, I mean even not even day one,
on media day. So one of the things that happens
with the bigger shows is the will often have what
they call media Day or industry Day. It's where the

(31:03):
dealers can get in. It's where people like us who
go cover r vs can go get in and we'll
see them broken on that day and then they're fixed
by the next day. And I'm like, somebody is working
around the clock to fix these things overnight.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
Yeah, it's totally and a thing. And we've literally canceled
review videos that we've done SINS video. Sorry, we don't
do review videos. We do SINS videos. We've canceled SINS
videos because things were just in such disrepair, presumably from
all the people walking through that we've.

Speaker 3 (31:32):
Actually, yeah, we felt like it was unfair.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
So like that's where we come from. Camy says, sorry
for answering, I'm in warranty. You are in warranty adding
our V dealership suit.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
Oh no, please please answer, please help it. Yeah, no,
that's great.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
Server Side says, that's why we offer consultations for customers.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
Ah, that's actually a really good point. So we're telling
you all of the bad things. Here's how to get
around some of that.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
Get an independent inspect Yeah, it doesn't matter if you
get a new RV.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
Doesn't matter a lot harder though, at the RV show,
which is kind of our whole point, which is where
why we're saying, this is a high pressure situation. It's
not always best to buy it an RV show. It
is just potentially you could save a little bit of money,
but probably in twelve months you will have been able
to save that same amount of money. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
Yeah, but it is a great place to find the
floor plan and the RV that you really really want
and know what price is gonna be the most competitive
so that you're not overpaying for your RV when you
do go to actually buy it.

Speaker 2 (32:32):
All right, you start prepping the next point. I'm gonna
go through a few questions real quick. Go for it,
Kenny Stall says. My single rear wheel thirty five hundred
and toe over thirty k, which I have done. Loll okay,
I'm gonna go for it, man, Kenny, I'm gonna I'm
gonna call you out a little bit. Here's the thing
that's thirty K towing. That's not payload capacity. And so

(32:53):
when we look at r v's, a lot of times
we're looking at fifth wheels, which means that that you've
got to deal with pen weight, and a single rear
wheel does not have as much pen weight as a
as a duly does. Yeah, I can toe twenty six
to thirty thousand pounds behind me, but that doesn't mean
I can handle three thousand pounds on the act on

(33:14):
my rear axle. So that's something to consider. Just keep
that in mind. You may be totally inspect. I'm not
calling you out, but just want you to keep that
in mind. Somebody asked, how did we find each other?

Speaker 3 (33:24):
Well, we were in Oh man, that's a lot.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
That's a story for another live. You gotta you gotta
ask this down in another live.

Speaker 3 (33:30):
Well, we'll have that.

Speaker 2 (33:31):
We'll go through that. It's it's a big, all long story.
We have been arving less than a year and a
lot of y'all's videos have really helped us. Thank y'all,
thank you so much. Venom two point zero. We appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (33:40):
Oh that's great. So you're you're teav.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
Okay, it's fine, all right, Casey Kaper says, not sure
if my thirty five one hundred ram will tow forty
three foot to dollar. If you've got a dually, you're
probably totally fine because pretty much.

Speaker 3 (33:54):
Every fifth wheel, probably pretty much.

Speaker 2 (33:56):
Every fifth wheel is gonna be designed for a standard
truck which goes all up to your one ton Dulies,
So most likely now, I have talked to a couple
of owners who've told me that their pen weight on
their on their toy holler is over six thousand, and
that will go over what you can handle with a
duly keep.

Speaker 1 (34:15):
Especially if you have like a bedroom in the front
and you put like a washer and dryer up there.

Speaker 2 (34:19):
It did. That doesn't even matter. Like if your pen
weight is over six thousand, you're probably not towing that
with a toy. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (34:25):
We talked to a lot of RB techs that talk
about that too.

Speaker 2 (34:28):
Overloading campers is the most common thing, and and all
we advise is looking at your payload capacity and your
towing capacity both matter.

Speaker 3 (34:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:38):
The other thing too, I think that's really helpful and
important is cat scales. So they're at so many different
gas stations, so many different travel stops. They have an
app that you can use as well, where you can
actually go on there. You use the app and it'll
tell you your weights per axle and everything else. Use those
because that's going to help you know exactly where your weight.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
Is heavy duty. Ask what generator your prep the next
point I'm asking the question.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
I've got it right, Okay, No, I forgot it, Okay,
I knew hopefully, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
What generator do you recommend? We don't have a generator.
I've heard great things about Cummins. I've heard great things
about Honda's We don't personally ride with a generator only
because the only place we would store the generator is
going to be at the front. And again, we're hitting
our payload capacity with our pin weight. We have a
forty foot fifth wheel. We don't want to we don't
want to overload our tires. Hidden gyms to stand. That's

(35:29):
a great conversation. You're planning on our being full full
times when you officially retired. That is great.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
Should we should hit that question at the end.

Speaker 2 (35:39):
We can hit that question at the end, so we'll
we'll talk.

Speaker 3 (35:41):
About stick with us. Well, we'll hit it at the end.

Speaker 2 (35:44):
Hidden gems, Jim Oh, I like that. I tooea two
ninety nine D with a mow head on it on
a tandem dual axle trailer. I curb over thirty K.
I don't know what any of those words mean, so
I don't I'm.

Speaker 3 (36:00):
Thirty K.

Speaker 2 (36:02):
Well, yeah that part again.

Speaker 3 (36:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (36:06):
I worked the rv MH Hall of Fame booth at
her Hit us up, man, we know you, Wait, we
know you.

Speaker 1 (36:16):
We know Okay, you're gonna have to DMS your name
because if we know you, then like well we'll recognize
your handle.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
We have a hard time running my dad's seapap overnight
with our two batteries.

Speaker 3 (36:27):
Yes, oh yeah, yeah, that's I didn't even think about that.
But that's actually a really good point.

Speaker 2 (36:31):
So here's the Here's the thing with a lot of
these inverter like solar systems is the inverter is only
gonna run a couple of different ports. So I'm hoping
that means that one of the ports in your bedroom
is run on the inverter. But those things seapaps pull
a lot of electricity and depending on what else you
have on that inverter, that can be a huge straw. Okay,

(36:53):
moving on, I have stories from hershey as well. Okay, Tammy,
thank you. Like reach Tammy and Silver Sides reach out
to us. I would love to get more information.

Speaker 3 (37:03):
That would be fun to connect with you guys.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
Yes, what we want is people to be prepared because
this is our V show season. We says it's the
greatest season of the year. It is o r V
show season, the greatest time of the year. Whatever. Oh sorry,
it just.

Speaker 3 (37:19):
Sorry.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
Comments are coming in more quickly than we can than
we can manage. So if we don't respond to your
comment or your question then like pop it back in.

Speaker 2 (37:30):
Sorry, bearded nerd, I don't know for freezing everybody else,
you could comment and let us know. Again, we live
in an RV, so internet is what it is, so
we hope that it's working, but we don't know. Okay,
that we got caught back up. What do you use
for your beard?

Speaker 3 (37:47):
I use.

Speaker 2 (37:49):
We're sponsored by we're responsored by Arcadian Grooming that and
they've sent they send me stuff for my beard all
the time.

Speaker 3 (37:57):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (37:58):
I use whatever they send me and they it's pretty
much all good.

Speaker 1 (38:01):
Yeah, it's beard cream, conditioning cream, and beard oil, and
they're awesome.

Speaker 3 (38:06):
I use it for my hair. I don't use that.
I use their hair. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
And then they have face washed, they have soaps, they
have all kinds of stuff for skincare and hair care.

Speaker 3 (38:16):
It's great.

Speaker 2 (38:17):
What is the best built brand heavy duty?

Speaker 1 (38:21):
Well, I can tell you personally. What I would say
are a couple of brands that I really really like.
And what I will say is we're not sponsored by
any brand at all.

Speaker 3 (38:36):
We have a Forest River. We love our Forest River.
We've been full time in it.

Speaker 1 (38:42):
For over three years and like all we can say
is our one experience with our one Forest River, so
take it as you're and.

Speaker 2 (38:51):
This is full time. We've had other things before, but
like this is our full time. Rig is a Forest River.

Speaker 3 (38:55):
Yeah, it's a sandpiper.

Speaker 1 (38:58):
So we love we love our But what I will
say is the brands that are really impressing us right
now with both their build quality as well as their
service are two brands in particular. One is Alliance, and
they are they're kind of a mom and pop shop.
They're not owned by any of.

Speaker 3 (39:14):
The big ones.

Speaker 1 (39:15):
So one of the things to keep in mind is
most r vs that are made now are owned by
one of three big holding companies, four Winnebago and Forest River.

Speaker 2 (39:27):
And when they're not owned by those three, there's a
good chance they're a lot better. However, I have some
I have some personal predispositions against Brinkley, So I'm not
going to be one of those guys who's gonna espound
how great Brinkley is. I don't think that they're they
have they have some good some good stuff. They have
some good stuff, but I personally would not buy a Brinkley. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (39:48):
But but what I will say is I I think
Forest River's doing it right. I think that they are.
They're they're doing balancing quality with functionality and wait with
weight and service. Their service is phenomenal. And we've heard
this from our v text Independent or vtex Ver Alliance.

(40:10):
Did I say for you, I meant Alliance.

Speaker 2 (40:14):
I'm calling her out for you.

Speaker 3 (40:15):
Yeah, No, totally Alliance.

Speaker 1 (40:18):
And so if Independent or v text are saying yeah,
like Alliance is doing it right, then usually that's somebody
that you want to listen to and something they want
to check out.

Speaker 2 (40:27):
We bring you through a few comments here. Yes, Ken,
you responded back, agreed with that one hundred percent and
will do it. Loll I got upgraded leaves, so yeah,
I got you, Okay, Kenny, leaves are not everything.

Speaker 3 (40:40):
How about your tires?

Speaker 2 (40:40):
How about your tires? Because guess what I looked into it.
I did a ton a ton of research.

Speaker 3 (40:47):
Ken. You may have done a ton of research too,
and maybe you.

Speaker 2 (40:49):
Did from what I can tell. Getting a heavy duty
thirty five truck, Ram or Chevy, whatever your preferences. You
say thirty five, so it's either a Ram or Chevy.
Getting tires that are rated so like the axle on
my Ram is rated for bare minimum. They Ram doesn't
tell us specifically, but bare minimum, we have determined that

(41:12):
it's at least ten thousand pounds. But finding tires that
are rated for that much is the issue. So just
keep that in mind. I'm not trying to call you
out either. I just want you to be keeping those
things in mind.

Speaker 3 (41:24):
Do you It sounds like.

Speaker 1 (41:25):
You've done a lot of research yourself and so like
at least you're thinking about the right things. It's just
tires often are the most limiting factor.

Speaker 2 (41:33):
Dustin asked about motor homes and towing a jeep. Guess what, Dustin,
I guarantee you pretty much any Class A is going
to toe a jeep, and pretty much any Super C
is going to tow a jeep. A small sea or
a Class B not probably not going to do it. Yeah,
just about a new to US travel trailer. I love that.
Y'all keep freezing at times. Okay, yeah, I'm caught up

(41:54):
with that. Can we hear about your beard? No, we're
talking about our visma, man. We'll talk about we can
talk about about the beer here a little bit, and
we talk about the beard hearing a little bit. We
love you guys, enjoy your videos. Thank you so much.
That was psychic soul. Brother. My friend just bought a
thirty two foot driver, this thirty two foot driver this
past weekend on a Ford F four fifty. It's awesome.

(42:15):
I'm assuming that.

Speaker 3 (42:16):
Maybe super c C.

Speaker 2 (42:17):
Yeah, that's awesome. That's awesome. What do you think about
destination trailers? Do you have the information for those? So
our neighbors at our current campground right now, yeah, I'm
pointing off the screen right now. Uh, they are buying
a destination trailer. So they are total snowbirds. So they
have a location up in I think Michigan, I don't

(42:37):
remember for sure, and we're Minnesota, maybe Massachusetts, No, not
that one, no, okay, but they have they have a
campground that they go to up there, and then obviously
the campground that we're at right now, and they just
travel between there and there, went between the summer and
the winter. And they have a small little something travel

(42:58):
trailer that they have up there on their site right now.
But they just got a seasonal lease and with that
seasonal lease they want to put a destination trailer. So
we actually met them at the Tampa RV Shore. They
came joined us on one day and we looked at
some of the destination trailers and they found some pretty
cool stuff and they, oddly enough, not nothing, we said,
at whatsoever. They ended up with a forest river yeah, sandpiper.

Speaker 3 (43:23):
So yeah.

Speaker 1 (43:24):
But what I will say about a destination is it's
a destination. They're coming out with like these Fifth Wheel
destination trailers as well. Treat them like a destination trailer.
And by that I mean you take them to your
spot and they're meant to stay there. Doesn't really matter
how roadworthy they say that they are. They're not really

(43:44):
designed to travel.

Speaker 2 (43:45):
No, you don't expect to travel with them, but they are.
They're designed like you. So like our neighbors, they're going
to leave theirs up there in the m state, whichever
one it was, and and they have their unit down
here as well, and so they're just travel between the two,
not taking the trailer with them.

Speaker 3 (44:02):
We should be super sluic Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa?
What what is all of this like under the sea?
Kind of like under the sea.

Speaker 1 (44:10):
I feel I feel very much like the little Mermaid here.
I know, Okay, we should be really sleuthly and trying
to figure out which m state.

Speaker 2 (44:18):
It is okay, moving through comments, Martin, I'm late to live.
What are you drinking? Apple juice? We're on TikTok app
apple juice.

Speaker 3 (44:26):
It's so I think he's drinking seventeen ninety two apple juice.

Speaker 2 (44:31):
Uh hey, before I adopt, y'all, I need tails. We'll
get to the bear. Probably only have one.

Speaker 1 (44:38):
More topic on the thing, so if you want to,
we can switch back over them.

Speaker 3 (44:42):
Okay, all right, we're getting to you, guys. We're getting
to you guys.

Speaker 2 (44:45):
Casey, Sorry, I had a phone call. Well, Casey, why
did you come on? Come on?

Speaker 3 (44:49):
We're more important a phone call.

Speaker 2 (44:51):
We talked at hershey to two years ago? Silver sides messages.

Speaker 1 (44:57):
Like dm us please because I'm need to know more details.

Speaker 2 (45:02):
Mommy of two, I think we answered the destination trailer thing.
I assume we were just behind on that. They're all junk. Okay,
thanks Bobcat, that was really helpful. I'm looking I'm looking
for full time heavy duty. I don't know what that's
in reference to. Thanks for the water thing. I'm liking
Alliance Brinkley. I don't like Brinkley. Sorry, it's just it's.

Speaker 3 (45:22):
Well, here's the thing I will say for I believe.

Speaker 1 (45:28):
I don't know, don't hold me to it, fact check me,
google me, like google it. But I believe Thorp owns
Jacob and they're Jacob's shit.

Speaker 2 (45:40):
Okay, so a few people are now asking about my
Brinkley opinion. Now, okay, I.

Speaker 3 (45:44):
Think we can expand on that a little bit when
we get done.

Speaker 2 (45:48):
Custom design is very, very true, rarely ever seen in
my shop. Hey Steve from Virginia, is this too personal? Good?
What's a good budget for an RV for full time?

Speaker 3 (45:59):
Oh? That's that's actually a really good question. So here's
the thing.

Speaker 1 (46:07):
When you when you look at an RV for full
time RV travel or full time RV living, what is
that hold on? There's a pop up that popped up
here on the live, so we want to double check
that and make sure we're not going to get cut
off from you guys.

Speaker 2 (46:23):
Uh no dream with Melody. We are not going to
co host.

Speaker 1 (46:29):
But thanks for letting TikTok know that we're still live,
because sometimes they think that we're not live even when
we're talking, and then they just like cut the livau.
So budget, here's what I would say. You need to
think about the floor plan that you would need to
function and survive. So the way that you function now

(46:51):
in your home, your six and bricks home as we
call it, is not going to change just because you
buy an RV. It's just going to get smaller in
terms of the footprint, but potentially, but you're still gonna
live in it. So there's sacrifices that you might make
in terms of a floor plan if you're buying an
RV for like a week in warrior thing or for

(47:14):
like going out during the summer on vacation versus something
that you're gonna live in full time. That's the first
thing to think about. And the reason why I'm saying
this when it comes to budget is that really needs
to guide what you look for then in terms of
your budget of RVs, because there's only so many floor
plans and they're all making the same damn ones anyway,

(47:37):
And so figure out what floorplan you're gonna want, figure
out what amenities you're actually gonna want in your RV,
and then look for that floorplan across multiple manufacturers and
decide from there what budget is gonna fit you.

Speaker 3 (47:52):
Ours was.

Speaker 1 (47:55):
Less than seventy thousand dollars and we've lived in it
for three years. Have we gotten your money's worth it
of it?

Speaker 3 (48:00):
Yes we have.

Speaker 1 (48:02):
Are there people who will spend two hundred and fifty
five hundred thousand dollars on an RB, Yes, there are.

Speaker 3 (48:09):
It just depends on what your priority.

Speaker 2 (48:10):
Saying that's and that's where the whole manufacturer thing is.
And that's where the whole manufacturer thing is. There's lots.
I didn't need this. Sorry, come on, come on, listen.
This has got to go up to YouTube at some point.

Speaker 3 (48:25):
I know, I know, I keep getting caught.

Speaker 1 (48:29):
So we've explained we we had like a really bad
ever respiratory infection like two weeks ago, and we still
have a cough and it still catches.

Speaker 3 (48:37):
So right now and then go ahead.

Speaker 2 (48:39):
What was I saying?

Speaker 3 (48:42):
This has to go up to YouTube at some point?

Speaker 2 (48:45):
Unfortunate?

Speaker 3 (48:45):
What guys? What was well?

Speaker 2 (48:46):
Unfortunately behind nine comments?

Speaker 3 (48:48):
So well, So we were talking.

Speaker 1 (48:49):
About the price tag for for full time AR being.
I said, we got ours for under seventy Can you
pay up till like, you know, five hundred thousand dollars
even for an RV.

Speaker 3 (49:01):
Yes, here's the thing.

Speaker 2 (49:04):
I don't know if this was the point I was
gonna make or not, but here's the thing. RVs are
going to fall apart on you and your ability to
put the work in. I'll tell you guys, what two
weeks ago, three weeks ago, I had to have some
work done on my RV. I had to have some
work done on the hydraulic system, and then I had

(49:27):
a few other things that need to be done well
the hydraulic system. I had to hire a company to
do the hydraulic system. Great, awesome, cool, not a big deal, Like,
I'm fine with paying to get some work done on
something I don't know anything about. Well, he came out,
did the work on it. Not a big deal. Came
out a couple of weeks later because there was something
that was still wrong. Couldn't ever find the issue. Said hey, sorry,

(49:49):
this is on the electrical side. So I had another
mobile RV tech coming to work on something else, and
I was like, hey, like, I had a hydraulic guy out.
He was looking at this, he was working on this,
trying to figure out what's going on, and he can't
find it. He says, it's all on the electrical side.
And he says that's not part of his job description. Whatever.

Speaker 3 (50:06):
Yeah, whatever, So my MORV techs are invaluable.

Speaker 2 (50:11):
Yeah, my molar V tech that I like to use
down here. He's like, okay, well let's work on everything else.
So we start working on everything else. We get everything done.
I'm helping him all along the way. Well, we get
to the hydraulic system and trying to figure out what's
going on with it. And I tell you what. He
pulled out his multimeter, which I don't have. Which there's
lots of people who tell you get a multimeter if
you're going to live the RV life. I don't have

(50:31):
a multimeter.

Speaker 3 (50:32):
I know Nick would be so upset.

Speaker 2 (50:34):
I know, and so we don't have a multimeter. So
he pulls out as multimeter and he starts hooking up
to things and I'm like, I think I have I
think I have an idea, and so he I have
him like, I don't even remember, it's been it's been
like two weeks ago. So I have him do this,
and I'm like testing this, and I'm like he's doing this,
and I'm testing this, and he's doing this and I'm
testing this, and finally I figure out the guy who

(50:56):
came out the first time around.

Speaker 3 (50:58):
The hydraulic expert.

Speaker 2 (51:00):
Hydraulic expert had wired it in wrong, and so he
must have unplugged them when he was because they had
to run a new hydraulic line, which that was totally
like that was outside. Yeah, that was totally legit. But
when he went to like plug all the electrical wiring
back in, he plugged it in wrong. And so between
his multimeter and me just sitting here playing with things,

(51:20):
I eventually figured out and so my mobile ar retech.
He was like, dude, I'm just going to charge you
like an hour and a half because like you did
most of the work on that. And I was like, well,
I appreciate that because you were here for like three hours,
and so like here's a thing, and I'm not trying
to boost myself, Like, yes, I do know a little.

Speaker 3 (51:38):
Bit, but I it helps to be handy if you're
gonna live the full time.

Speaker 2 (51:41):
That's what I'm getting at is it helps to be
a little handy because not only can you fix things yourselves,
but sometimes even if it is maybe out of your scope,
you might be able to help get to a resolution
a lot quicker because you might have more information going
into it.

Speaker 3 (51:56):
Okay, well okay, but whoa if we miss comment, throw
it back in. If we miss a question, throw it
back in.

Speaker 1 (52:02):
But what I will say is, you know, we talked
about warranties, we talked about service plans, we talked about
all of that stuff earlier. Nothing, nothing, and I mean nothing,
beats a mobile RV tech that knows what they're doing.
And rvhelp dot Com is like a brand new website, yes,

(52:23):
that has the list of all of the mobile rvy
texts that are certified across the country. We're not sponsored
by them or anything, but we have used them a
number of times. They've literally just launched in January and
we've already used them a couple of different times. They're great,
and you can go and you can review RV techs
so you can know exactly like one are they certified

(52:45):
and two what experience other people have had with them.
So that would be the thing that I would say,
is whether you buy a new or used camper, whether
your warranty service is working for you or not, Mobile
RV techs are awesome and they're everywhere.

Speaker 2 (53:00):
Do you have any more points?

Speaker 3 (53:01):
I have one more point.

Speaker 2 (53:02):
Okay, we're gonna do quick fire and then we're gonna
get hit the last point hopefully.

Speaker 3 (53:06):
And It goes back to somebody's question, Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (53:12):
Any advice on selling a fifth wheel toy hauler.

Speaker 3 (53:18):
Listened on arb trader dot com.

Speaker 1 (53:19):
We've never we've never sold an RV, so we don't well,
we know we've never sold our own RVY, so we
don't know for sure.

Speaker 3 (53:28):
But I would say rbtrader dot com is probably a
really good place to look.

Speaker 2 (53:32):
Hey, what's up, bubba, Hey, bubba, y'all.

Speaker 3 (53:38):
There's the little Are you still live?

Speaker 2 (53:41):
Yes, we're still live?

Speaker 3 (53:42):
Are we real people? Are we are real people? There's
like a puzzle we have to solve. There we go, Oh,
it told you, no, you got to do it again.
You went too far? There you go, get it right
on there? Oh, there we go.

Speaker 2 (53:56):
Sorry, guys, it's it's part of the whole live thing.
They want to make sure you're not just spamming the
same Okay, hey, Bubba, you'll ever see it love. I
don't know what that is. It is good choice. I
like apple juice too. You'll ever stayed at Ocean Lakes
Myrtle Beach with no, it's on the plant, it's on
the it's opinions on Sportsman k Z. There's been some

(54:17):
good KzS and some bad cazs. Jacob is owned by Thor.
There's your confirmation my phone there. I was too close
to my iPhone. I don't know what that means. Opinion
on splash Our V Resort, Milton, Florida.

Speaker 3 (54:26):
Oh, we love splash Our.

Speaker 2 (54:27):
Splash amazing. We only have so many options to co
plans that allowed for a balance a coach. So colors
are the key. Colors are nothing to us. You can repaint.
I know it's expensive, but you can repaint.

Speaker 3 (54:39):
Well, it's nothing to him. I actually like color. I
like having that lighter palate.

Speaker 2 (54:44):
Okay, this is quick, quick fire time, nice beer, bub
Thank you. I've missed y'all, but Bubba, we miss you.

Speaker 3 (54:51):
Well, well we missed you too.

Speaker 2 (54:53):
We plan on selling the house and everything to buy
in our V. We did a condoct comeback for holidays.
Well we didn't do that, wait and buy it. Bought
a new pool behind last year for our first starter.
Now I cry because we picked one without a couch.

Speaker 1 (55:09):
Well the okay, so think about this though our V
furniture is easily replaceable. Yes, so Lippert buys our Lippert
sells furniture that's easily replaceable for any RV, so you
just have to do the dimensions. Aikia is also a
great place to buy our face furniture.

Speaker 2 (55:28):
Okay, Silver Size Sys. Just remember most product manufactors offer
the same training that techs get. Good to know Silverside,
silver Side, he or she has some experience. We don't
know anything. Apparently we met he or she, we don't
remember Silverside. Sorry, my apologies, but that is potentially very good.
And now what I will say is when we were

(55:49):
dealing with our hydraulic issue out here and I was
looking up the electrical forest, River did not make it
very easy for me to pull up the electrical documentation
so we could figure out what was going on. So
they did not what's on your wrists? Apple watches? Uh?
Can you expand on your Brinkley opinions?

Speaker 3 (56:05):
We will see asked about that a couple of times.

Speaker 2 (56:07):
We will we absolute, Please stick around, Please stick around,
we will totally expand on Uh. I don't know what
that means, silver Side. I'm sorry, Hello from Conway, Arkansas.
You're breaking TikTok. Yeah, now I think our internet is breaking,
but that's okay. Stick around, please guys, I know I
know our Internet is potentially not great. We're doing our best.

(56:30):
I'm digging the horse trailer manufacturer toiles. Now, y'all, Internet
is freezing. Yes, we are potentially aware. I will work
on that before our next live but I can't do
anything about it right now. We are literally living in
an RV. So we got we are bound by the requirements.

Speaker 3 (56:47):
So all right, well let's get this.

Speaker 2 (56:49):
I want to I want, I want to address this
so quick. So all of our phones are on T Mobile.
I did for a little while have a single phone
that was on Verizon that used for live streaming, just
because Verizon sometimes where T Mobile didn't work, Verizon kind
of stepped up its game. But then a lot of
times T Mobile was working, and we got to the

(57:09):
point where T Mobile worked pretty much across the board. However,
what I will say is probably where we're at right now,
it would be beneficial to have the Verizon set up again.
I will work on that for next week. I apologize
if it is. If it is breaking up for you guys,
please send us alike, please stick around us, forgive us.
We will try to work on it for next week.

(57:31):
Do we have a signal booster?

Speaker 3 (57:32):
No, we do not.

Speaker 2 (57:32):
Have a signal booster. We've never really we never really
needed one, so again we're obviously.

Speaker 3 (57:39):
Aside.

Speaker 2 (57:41):
I don't even know if a signal booster would help
in this case. T mobiles maybe not the prime solution here,
and that's why we used to have the Verizon setup.

Speaker 1 (57:48):
Okay, on too, the next point, Okay, last point, and
then we will get to all of the other questions.
So RV show last point accessories. Somebody asked about this earlier.
The bigger RV shows is where you will find every
accessory under the sun. You're gonna find accessories you didn't

(58:09):
even know that you needed, and some of them are
really really cool, and you're like, oh my gosh, this
is a game changer.

Speaker 3 (58:15):
I had no idea that this was happening. I had
no idea that you had this. Some of them are.

Speaker 1 (58:19):
Super, super gimmicky, and so you do have to kind
of weigh the pros and cons there. You're gonna get
a little bit of that at the smaller local shows
as well, so just be aware of that. But accessories
is kind of a cool thing.

Speaker 2 (58:33):
Now.

Speaker 1 (58:33):
What I would say is just like any firmer's market,
just like any fair ground, just like any festival. More
than likely you're gonna pay more for the accessory when
you buy it on site than you would if you
just like order it somewhere else or you find a
similar one on Amazon or at Walmart even or someplace

(58:55):
like that.

Speaker 3 (58:56):
So keep that in mind.

Speaker 1 (58:59):
It never hurts to say, like, oh, this is really cool,
I'm gonna take a picture of this.

Speaker 3 (59:04):
We will walk outside, go make.

Speaker 1 (59:05):
Sure you got cell signal and look it up and
see if they're selling it for an appropriate price or not.
And if not, then like cool, go buy somewhere else.
And if they're selling it for a cool price, great
pick it up.

Speaker 3 (59:16):
Then Hey, capers, we'd love to stay connected.

Speaker 1 (59:18):
Follow us on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube at Wandering
our v Babe.

Speaker 3 (59:23):
Thanks for joining us. Let's do it again next week
and happy camping. Bye.

Speaker 1 (59:31):
Okay, So there's a question that somebody's been hanging on
for a while, and we said that we would get
to it after the show, and so now I'm gonna
hit it before we get to any of these others
because they put their question in first. So it is
hidden gyms and places to like in terms of places
to stay at and what I will say is if
you have a small enough camper. Now the bigger your size,

(59:54):
the harder it is going to be to find these
hidden gyms or be able to fit into these hidden
gyms is probably more accurate. But Army Corps of Engineer
places are great. If you go and you have like
a Harvest host subscription or a Boon Docker's Welcome subscription,
they're kind.

Speaker 3 (01:00:13):
Of one and the same thing. Technically they are one
of the same thing.

Speaker 1 (01:00:16):
Now, those are great places to go to and stay at,
especially just like one night, two nights, especially you know,
as you're traveling things like that, because once you pay
your subscription, they're free, which is awesome.

Speaker 3 (01:00:29):
And some of those places have Wi Fi, some of
them have electricity.

Speaker 1 (01:00:34):
A lot of times boon Dockers Welcome and Harvest Hosts
it is either just somebody's personal property or it's like
a business and they just come and they let you
park overnight. So if you're self contained and you can
dry camp, they're a game changer. But even if you're not,
a lot of them will advertise or even if you
just like send the host a message and ask, they'll

(01:00:57):
have electricity or they'll have water or things like that.
So that way you can hook up for the night
and then be on your way, And we have gotten
your money's worth out of them so many times.

Speaker 3 (01:01:07):
So those are the ones that I would say are
like true game changers in my opinion,
