Welcome to Harpy the middlehelper.
It was known one day that thedemon who ran in the air was a
doctor.
The demon ran down on the ringfinger Right, but even so, this
ring didn't support HarpyBecause he was a little bit of a
freak.
He took out a ring and kickedit.
He was trying to avoid the factthat the ring should help him.
How the fuck?
Who Zero Zero is?
Hello, bill, never move thecrack hospital.
(02:25):
You didn't get it.
I was like, oh, thank you, kappa.
But then the best thing is howlong we're close and it's right
in the city.
Now, hey, can you tell me wherewe are after this?
Well, she went up on the train,so I don't know if I'm going to
(02:48):
laugh.
So I was like so I hear it andI'm like what's that you know?
Okay, if I can't remember, I'mlike no, we're just gathering.
I started to call the team andI remember I started to collect
the number of items that I got.
Probably a few of these rightthere.
(03:09):
I've only got two.
I didn't have all of them.
So I think the child I wantedwas the two she had.
I thought she had all of them.
I got them all.
I still with the whole load ofitems.
I couldn't do enough.
I looked into the other bigdealer and found that he had
given them to her.
He had just given them to meand I I still wish to follow
those hours because you know howthey are.
I'd love to hear what they tellus and if you'd give me a
chance so you don't lose to me.
There's no need for that.
And yay, we'll be, again.
(03:31):
This is the time to live mydream, and that's when we'll be
right back home.
So when do I die?
I don't know.
It looks like a ball of wateris going to do a race on the
back.
I'm going to do a race on theback.
I'm going to do a race on theback.
I'm going to do a race on theback.
I'm going to do a race on theback.
I'm going to do a race on theback.
(03:51):
I'm going to do a race on theback.
I'm going to do a race on theback.
I'm going to do a race on theback.
I'm going to do a race on theback.
I mean, they aren't for the moon, it's just.
Do you mean they need him?
He needs him For the deployers.
(04:16):
It's going to be a little whileuntil stuff comes.
Well, this is not going to befast, so we all have to wait
until the camera.
You know, I still feel goodbeing free.
You got Twitter.
(04:36):
Well, I feel all right.
Well, I feel sorry.
I mean, until I did, do youthink you're making it very hard
?
I don't want to, but see, thisthing was in shipping and you
can't really seem to learn.
Oh, I'm a little troubled.
Just look at this.
I've got the world all on myown.
(04:57):
This is my worst death.
It's just a cold, bad happyfriend Don't know it.
I'm really dying to say it.
He said At the back of thecomputer, thought they saw a
photo of the dancing over themountain.
How odd it had been to talk to aperson who knew it.
But today, just looking at thevideo, alien mission completed
(05:21):
Showed the camera.
So in the this video you cansee some of the old-fashioned
finishes of the doctor.
Here's the video.
There are some of the picturesthat are in this attorney's
journal.
Here's the one.
(05:44):
That never happened to me.
Sometimes I'll go on a walk,but I'll never stop it Once I
see a bear, I die.
The wolf house mourns us.
We need to assume that we'regoing to win.
I'm trying to solve what thewolf has to say.
I think we can win the game andI can do it again.
(06:09):
And then here, here, we willhave a point from the last song
on the back of the hand, butyou're just hearing that,
without a cost, you're gonnaopen the door to the third floor
and confirm it.
A link that will help you isgoing to open the full-text
website.
Confirm it, and we should beable to donate data to API.
(06:32):
I have a base by what we havecreated in the link.
You can see it on the cell.
I have a high-quality, verygood data.
You should be able to downloadit from there.
Yes, yes, all right yes, allright.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
Oh, it's gonna be a
fun week.
It's gonna be so much fun.
I hope everybody's so excited.
I'm excited, I hope you'reexcited.
Some nice music there in thebackground that, that's La Lom,
the Los Angeles oh, what arethey called the Los Angeles
League of Musicians if you guyshaven't heard those Pretty cool
(07:36):
La Lom?
They play some reallyinteresting and fun stuff.
Anyway, how's it going?
How is everybody?
It's good to be here.
I'm back.
I'm in my office, which isweird.
It's been two weeks since I'vebeen here.
I was out on site doing somereally cool stuff.
I'll be talking a little bitabout that to friends and people
sitting around tables at WLPCand that's why I wanted to chat
this week.
I wanted to catch up a littlebit.
Not talking about any of thestuff, typical podcast stuff,
(07:58):
although there's been somepretty interesting things
happening recently as of late Ifyou've kept up with some of the
news, there'll be some changes.
So what's happening at WLPC I'msure the word will make it
around pretty quick the stuffwith Bintiv and Exceltex and the
stuff with HP and Juniper andthe stuff with just everything.
So it'll make for very goodconversation.
(08:19):
Kind of state of the industry,if you will, is a little bit
different, a little bit changedhere as we move into 2025.
So we've got WLPC 2025 comingup.
Wlpc is the Wireless LANProfessional Conference.
Now, if you don't know what theWLPC is, give me one second.
(08:39):
Let me make sure I can.
Good, I can hear myself.
Wow, I can't even turn myselfdown.
So if you don't know what theWLPC is, let me give you a quick
history.
That may or may not be accurate, but that's okay.
Maybe someone can help me outif I mess it up.
Essentially it's been I thinkso 11 years going on.
The WLPC and the WLPC was puttogether by a crew.
(09:02):
A guy named Keith Parsons putthis together to be.
You know, the term back in theday was the unconference, but
the idea is that, instead ofsitting around listening to
vendors talk about what they doand how they do it, this is an
opportunity for the industry toget together and talk about what
matters most to the industry.
So every year, a questionnairegoes out asking people to submit
abstracts about what they wantto talk about and there's a
(09:24):
little window for that, and oncethose are all submitted and
anybody can submit one, oncethose are all put in, then
anyone who's in the wirelessindustry can vote on that.
Anyone who's anyone, I guesscan vote on those, and that's
how the agenda is formed.
Now, once the agenda is formed, however, whoever gets the most
votes gets the longest talks, but it's shouldered by some
pretty cool things Leading intothe actual event, where there's
(09:47):
a schedule and we talk abouteverything, where we go through
the different sessions.
There are boot camps that takeplace, three-day boot camps that
are awesome and they teach youthe most incredible things and
you're surrounded by people thatare just as excited about being
part of the industry as you are.
So you get to learn whilesitting next to some incredible
people.
You get to make new friends.
You get to kick the conferenceoff right, this is straight up
wireless nerd spring break.
(10:08):
I mean, it is like everyone Ithink there's a lot of people
that call it nerd spring breakand so the bootcamps happen.
Then the sessions come in andthen, after sessions, we go into
deep dives, and every day yougo into a deep dive where you
dive deep into a specific topicand we're going to go through
some of what that is.
And in the evening, you gotsome parties, some mixers, where
people get together.
There's some productdemonstrations, there's some
(10:29):
places where people just notnecessarily hackathon, but
people just bring the goods outand we destroy stuff and break
stuff and make it work andfigure out why it doesn't and
what it could be better.
And everybody gets to learnfrom each other.
And one of things is you've gotvendors standing shoulder to
shoulder with people who are inthe industry and it just it
doesn't.
It doesn't feel like that.
It feels like we're just allpeers.
We're all there to learn fromeach other, we're all there to
(10:51):
experience everything.
And it is a very uniqueconference in that way that we
really get to share and be openwith everyone.
It's kind of a safe space, ifyou will, in the wireless
industry.
And then there's all these otherlittle things.
So if you haven't been to W, solet's see On Monday.
If you haven't heard about it.
If you play golf and you'reinterested, we've got two
(11:11):
foursomes set up.
A bunch of us are going to goout and play some golf on Monday
morning, so that's happening.
If you like coffee, bring a bagof coffee.
There know, you end up in aplace where everyone has brought
some bourbon and they share itwith each other.
(11:34):
That's not an official event, but these are some of the things
that happen after hours.
We've recorded podcasts forWhiskey and Wireless.
We've recorded podcasts forWaves.
I'll probably do something outthere and just interview a bunch
of people and have some fun.
There's been vendor mixers andvendor parties there.
(11:55):
There's been vendor mixers andvendor parties.
There's been off road tripswhere we go to Lolo's Chicken
and Waffles and go eat some ofthe best chicken and waffles
you've ever had.
We go eat tortas, torta del rey, down the street from the
conference.
We have a really good time.
There's people who go outrunning.
There's people who go outhiking.
There's photographers.
I remember one year a group ofpeople got together and went off
into the desert after the eventand did a photography skills
class where everyone got tolearn from each other on
(12:16):
pictures to take.
So there's lots of stuff thathappens.
Just be on the lookout for it.
The best thing I can tell you is, if you aren't part of the
Slack channel the Wi-Fi ProSlack channel make sure you're
part of that.
If you need any information orhelp, just drop a question in
the comments so you can learnfrom there and you'll get a big
push from that, from the crewthat's there.
And then we've got the Wi-FiAwards that take place at WLPC
(12:38):
every year.
All in all, it's a great wayfor our entire wireless
community to come together andtalk about what's going on in
our worlds and share informationand share knowledge.
It's pretty awesome.
So what I want to do is I wantto dig into some of the things
that we're doing here.
Let's see if I can share myscreen here.
That looks pretty good and itlooks like I still have audio,
which used to be an issue.
(12:58):
But these are the bootcamps Iwas talking about.
Check this out If you want tolearn from some of the best in
the industry.
Here are the bootcamps that arehappening at WLPC in Phoenix
this year.
You've got Certified WirelessAnalysis Professional, taught by
none other than Mr PeterMcKenzie, and if you haven't sat
through one of Peter's classes,he is such a wealth of
information.
You've got Certified WirelessNetwork Administrator the CWNA
(13:19):
boot camp, taught by TomCarpenter from CWNP, so you're
learning from the best overthere too.
Chris Avance is in doing theCisco 9800 Rockstar.
I'm interested to see wherethat goes.
I mean still some use case forthe 9800, but I mean, look at
where Cisco is going.
I wonder how much longer thatclass is going to be there.
Hamana Architect Bootcamp by heyEddie.
(13:40):
Hey Eddie, mr Eddie Ferrero, one of the best instructors in
the industry Brian Ward teachingLinux operating system bootcamp
.
Very cool, brian is such a cooldude and he's got hands-on
experience doing a lot of thisstuff.
I mean, everybody does, butthis is Brian's day-to-day thing
, so learning from him is goingto be fantastic.
One of my favorite people inthe whole industry is Rasika,
(14:01):
and he's teaching RockstarWireless Analysis.
Ruckus Certified WirelessAssociate Bootcamp.
I don't know who's teachingthat.
Let me see what happens if Iclick on it.
I'm assuming it's Jim Palmer, but it might not be Jim Palmer.
It just says Ruckus Wi-FiBasics.
Okay, that's cool.
Okay, so check this out.
This one got me right, becauseJJ and JD, the Secure Wi-Fi
(14:26):
Architecture Masterclass, andliterally the lady who wrote the
book on Wi-Fi security isteaching it.
But then, right next to it,you've got the Ultimate Wi-Fi
Security Bootcamp and thenunderneath that you've got Wi-Fi
authentication throughPasspoint.
So lots of talk about securityjust in the bootcamps alone.
Oh, go ahead, because my watchis listening too.
Ultimate Wi-Fi SecurityBootcamp tour is teaching that
one, but it'll be neat to seewhat JJ and JD are talking about
(14:47):
in the Wi-Fi architecture andthey just launched their new
certification.
So I wonder if I wonder.
You know, I'm interested to seewhat that looks like.
So that's pretty cool.
Wi-fi authentication, openthrough Passpoint, so that's
going to be really.
I've been a fan of this andI've gotten to play a lot with
it.
This is the whole open roamingthing and the whole Passpoint
neutral host offload.
So I'm keen to see how Fernet'sbootcamp is going to go for
(15:10):
that.
The Wireless Adjuster Bootcampif you're just getting into
Wi-Fi or if you want to go backand cover the basics the Hugman
himself, mr Devin Akin, will beteaching that one.
The Wonderful World of Wi-Fi 7Bootcamp I don't have any idea
what that is.
This year's NCX oh, it's Phil.
Phil Morgan looks like he'sgoing to be teaching this one,
but we'll see.
(15:31):
I don't.
It doesn't have a name on there, so we'll see.
So those are the bootcamps thatare happening and these take
place the first three days ofthe conference.
So I believe it's going to belike Saturday or Sunday, monday,
tuesday is when these takeplace, I believe, or Saturday,
sunday, monday.
I don't know me on that one,but it starts.
Let's see here.
Boot camps are Saturday, sunday, monday.
(15:51):
There you go.
So here's the agenda.
If you've never seen the agendafrom WLPC, this is what it
looks like and so what you havehere.
Let me make sure this thing'sshown.
What you have here is, you see, that the boot camps start on
Saturday at 8 in the morning.
You've got breakfast till 8.30.
That's how you read theschedule, the little lines here
(16:14):
on the side.
And then they've got lunchbreaks and lunch breaks in
between and then group dinner.
So everyone gets together andhangs out and has dinner.
Registration starts in the mainlobby on monday at six o'clock
is when registration starts.
Everybody show up and you grabyour badge and you get your.
Um, you get your goodie bag,and usually in the goodie bag I
don't know what they look like.
This year they've gone all overthe place place.
Sometimes they've been huge andfilled with all kinds of stuff
and sometimes they've been, depending on the year.
Covid was a little skimpy, butso were the crowds, and then
(16:37):
kicking off Tuesday morning ateight o'clock is the actual
conference itself.
Now what I will tell you if youhaven't been is make sure
you're on time.
Make sure that you're therewhen it starts.
Keith gets up on the stage.
He gives a really coolintroduction and the intro and
the outro to WLPC are some of myfavorite times to be there.
Keith has some great words forthe industry, some big
(17:00):
overarching themes of what'sgoing on.
It's a fantastic welcome.
Every year we go to this thingand it's great to hear Keith's
words as he talks about whatwe're going to see and what
we're going to learn and hepresents some statistics about
the previous year and how thatcompares to this year.
So it's really neat to see itgrowing.
I know we sold out this yearWLPC sold out this year in a
(17:22):
short amount of time, which isalways cool.
But one of the reasons you alsowant to be there early is
because there's door prizes andif you haven't been there it
doesn't mention anything aboutit, but there are door prizes
and those door prizes, when theycall your name, if you are not
in the room, you do not get thedoor prize.
I might hold the record for theperson whose name has been
called the most times and whohasn't been in the room the most
(17:44):
times.
I think I'm at three now, sodon't be me, don't be that guy
whose name gets called, and youdon't win anything, because it
can be everything from thecoolest new stuff that Keith has
found, and I'm telling you allthat is.
One of the neatest things aboutWLPC is you're surrounded by
nerds that are just like you, that may even be nerdier than
(18:05):
you are, and we all buy the mostridiculous stuff when it
catches our attention.
And Keith is like the master atthat.
He goes out and finds thecraziest stuff and then he buys
extras and he gives them out asdoor prizes.
So make sure you're there forthat.
There's MacBook Airs have beengiven away.
There's Wi-Fi survey kits havebeen given away.
There's free registration forpeople to come in overseas have
(18:26):
been given away.
There's all kinds of reallygreat stuff that are giveaways
at WLPC.
But you have to be there.
So make sure after the breaksthat your butt's in your seat,
or else, if your name's called, you're not going to win it.
Now, the way that it starts isthere's a big session in the
morning, then there's a break.
There's a couple of bigsessions in the morning, and
then there's a break, and thenlunch, and lunch is provided.
You go outside, you sit down inthe nice weather, what I would
(18:51):
encourage you to do is go meetsomeone.
Go find a table of people thatyou don't know and if you're
early, if it's a first-timer andyou haven't been there before,
then maybe there are a lot ofthose tables.
But just go sit down andintroduce yourself.
Everybody's expecting it.
Everybody's expecting to meetnew people.
Obviously, there's a lot ofpeople there that we're old
friends and we've seen eachother, but nothing is cooler
than having someone new just sitdown and be outgoing and say,
(19:12):
hey, I'm new here.
Who are you all?
What do you do?
My name is so-and-so, this iswhat I do and that's how you
meet people, because one of thebiggest things about WLPC is
getting to know each other.
It really, really is.
You'll find that our communityis an incredible community.
If you've never been, and ifyou have been and you haven't
been outgoing, I encourage youto do that.
If you have been and you havebeen outgoing, then you
(19:33):
absolutely know what to expect.
But be on the lookout for thepeople that are new.
It's always fun to meet the newfaces.
So lunch go back intopresentations and we get a break
and then we knock out our deepdives, and the deep dives are
one of my favorite things aboutWLPC.
And so at WLPC the deep divesstart, I think, at three o'clock
.
Yeah, it's, it's always thesame from three to five, I'm
sorry, from three to six.
(19:53):
You've got the deep dives thatgo on.
Don't feel bad if you start toget a little sleepy in the deep
dives happens to all of us.
Usually there's snacks andcandy and everything else.
But if there's not, you know, let me know.
Maybe we need to make a run andgo pick some stuff up, but
usually you'll find some sweetsand some treats and some coffee
laying around where people cantake that in, because the deep
dives are in that afternoon andit's a lot of learning in one
(20:16):
day.
It's a whole lot of learning inone day.
Then there's a quick buffer timeto go up, just relax a little
bit, brush your teeth maybe, take a little squeeze, a little
10-minute nap and then get tothe evening sessions.
The evening sessions areusually vendor-sponsored
sessions and what that means isyou go into a room and once
you're in that room, it'ssponsored by you know, insert
(20:39):
brand here, and they usually dolike a little dog and pony show
about their product or they showoff something new, and then
they get involved with you.
They give stuff away.
They might give everybodysomething.
They might give a limitedamount of people something, but
one of the things that they dogive out is drink tickets and
they usually have food andbeverages in there.
So save plenty of room.
You'll hang out.
(21:00):
Don't really need to find dinnersometimes on Tuesday and
Wednesday, because light dinneris provided and it's usually
enough.
It is conference food.
So if you want to make plans togo out to dinner with someone
or a group of people, those allend at 9.30.
And after that you can go dowhatever you want, which is a
little bit late, but there'ssome great spots.
Ask around to each other.
If the people are there.
They'll find you some greatdinner options, but pick and
(21:20):
choose what you want to do.
And then the second day it'sthe same agenda both those two
days, tuesday and Wednesday butit's different programming and
it's really it's fascinating.
And then the third day there'sbox lunch after after everyone's
good to go, 1.30,.
Everybody's done.
Go to the airport, jump on theplane.
Don't be scared to split a carwith someone.
(21:40):
You meet lots of people goingto and from the airport, which
is pretty neat and what I wouldencourage you to do is, if you
are on the Slack channel, drop anote saying hey, I'm in town, I
just arrived.
Is there anyone here?
You can split a car.
That's a good way to go backand forth.
There's really not a lot oftravel that takes place during
the event.
I mean, one year we all wentdowntown and watched Boardman
(22:02):
eat his own face with a side ofsome dirt and asphalt on one of
the scooters, because that was,I think, like the first year.
Everyone thought scooters wouldbe a great idea inside inner
cities, so that was fun.
So you'll find littleexcursions here and there, but
for the most part everyonesticks to the event Monday.
Like I said, we're playing golfon Monday morning.
So if you're not part of theboot camp and you're in on
(22:23):
Monday, monday's a fun day toget to know everyone before and
after conference registrationand I forgot to mention that
during conference registrationyou can see it down there at the
bottom.
There's a whole bunch of foodtrucks that are set up outside
and there's some great foodtrucks that are there.
So you've got food there or youcan go off and go do your own
thing, but it's usually it's afun time.
It's a really good event.
So it's a fun time.
It's a really good event.
So what are we talking aboutthis year?
(22:44):
This is like let's get to themeat and potatoes of this thing,
man.
What are we talking about?
So the deep dives we talkedabout bootcamps a little bit.
Deep dives are cool because youusually get to take something
home with you AutoCAD with BrianWard I don't know that you're
going to take an AutoCAD licensehome, but you might have
FreeCAD or something.
At the WLPCcom you can learnabout all these.
Learn about floor plans andlayers, exporting, how to modify
(23:08):
stuff so there's a descriptionof it.
Building your own Wi-Fiautomation lab this would be
pretty cool.
Installation of Ubuntu serveron a laptop Yang models,
exploring APIs of Mist andMeraki, how to use Ansible on
your Ubuntu VM that you're goingto set up so bring your own
laptop.
You need a Cisco account withWLC images.
(23:28):
You need a Myst account.
Lots of stuff in there.
Flipper Zero this is the onethat I did last year.
We had a really, really goodtime, but this is a great
opportunity.
Sorry, I was supposed to besharing my screen.
I wasn't.
There's Flipper Zero screen.
Anyway, we had a great timewith this last year.
But let me just give you a wordof warning.
This is very important for WLPC.
You have 400, 500 of the topwireless experts in the world in
(23:56):
one room and by nature I feellike all of us are very curious.
And when you have a class that'steaching you how to use a
flipper or how to scan for 5Gnetworks, or how to modify
Raspberry Pis, or how to useKismet or how to load different
various tools and such onlaptops and whatever, when you
get a group of people like that, sometimes there's a tendency to
(24:18):
do something that you think iscool but it's not cool, like
jamming all the Bluetooth, orlike introducing a whole bunch
of RF interference or doingsomething to try and show, hey,
I can do this.
Everybody, look at me, dude, rest assured that everybody in
that room older and younger, males and females, amateurs and
(24:40):
rookies and truly experiencedpeople we can all do the same
stuff.
Don't be that person.
Don't be the person that jamsthe BLE signal.
Don't be the person that jamsUWB.
Don't make the conference suckfor other people.
It's happened a couple of timeswhere someone just decided hey,
I'm going to do, I've got thistool, I'm going to do it and
let's see what the reaction is.
(25:01):
In the middle of everybody'ssession, man, it's like it's not
everybody goes to WLPC for theevent.
They don't go to watch you jama BLE signal.
Don't be that person, okay, just a word of advice, because
remember that you're in a roomfull of people that know exactly
how to find you if you are thatperson and you will not be
invited back and lots of peoplewill get a bad taste in their
(25:23):
mouth for you.
So don't be that person.
Just a word of warning.
We've had this happen a coupleof times, you know, especially
when these tools are out thereand people are using them, just
you know, be cognizant of what'sgoing on.
The Flipper Zero class is greatalong those lines.
If you haven't taken MikeWade's lesson oh, mikey man, we
were flying drones in Prague.
That of drones in Prague, thatwas a lot of fun.
Integrating drones into yourwireless LAN business it's a
(25:45):
very cool thing to go into.
I don't know what the GPS GNSSsession is, so I can click on it
and I can find out here.
In the last 20 years, consumergrade blah, blah, blah, blah,
blah, blah, blah, deep dive.
You'll learn how to use one ofthese cinema accuracy GNSS
receivers for use in surveys oh,dude, that's cool.
Automatic frequencycoordination six gig, yeah, man,
okay, that's pretty awesome.
(26:06):
Neat and Luke's a great guy.
So Luke's going to teach a goodclass, I mean a survey methods,
featuring NetAlly and Juniper.
This is going to be pretty coolto see Peter go through this.
And if you haven't seen the waythat NetAlly can take data and
dump it into Hamina, that issuper, super awesome.
So you'll be able to take alook at that.
Is 6GB, right for you.
(26:26):
A LoRaWAN masterclass?
I've done that one.
Mastering Wi-Fi Explorer Pro.
That's the one I'm going to dothis year because Adrian's
teaching it, which is going tobe great.
So learning all about all thenew stuff that's available in
Wi-Fi Explorer Pro for Windowsand Mac he says Windows and Mac.
Physics for wireless with alittle wine tasting Bob always
brings the wine.
Physics for wireless with alittle wine tasting Bob always
brings the wine, fyi.
(26:47):
So bring an appetite for goodwine, delicious wine, and a
brain that's thirsty forknowledge, if you will.
Okay, so I'm going to talkabout my buddy Mark real quick,
because this is awesome and, honestly, it closed up pretty
quickly so I wasn't able to seethis deep dive, but this dude
has taken a Raspberry Pi andattached a device to it that
(27:10):
allows you to do spectrumanalyzation of 5G using
Raspberry Pi.
So this is going to be reallyneat to see.
You're going to see peoplewalking around with this.
One of the cool things also thatI'll tell you about the
bootcamps I'm sorry about thedeep dives and the bootcamps is
sometimes there's extra stuffleft over and it's available in
the store.
So if you want to get yourhands on one of these I don't
(27:30):
know if there's going to be anyextras, but if there are, they
will be available there on siteto purchase.
Now, if they're not, you canalways talk to Mark or Keith or
Frenet or Matthew or someone andwe can put you in touch with
the right people so that you canget your hands on one.
If you see something, you goman, that's cool Because you get
that whole.
It's like that whole summercamp thing where you see the
people and you're like what isthat?
(27:51):
That's awesome.
I wish I had one of these.
Usually, what you find at WLPCis that you can actually get
your hands on one of those, andso you always find lookout for
that.
That's gonna be really, reallyneat.
And even if you don't, if you,if you're not doing the deep
dive, go find mark and see whathe's doing, if that's something
(28:11):
that interests you.
Ultimate wi-fi security deepdive.
Again back on the security.
I mean, this is now a deep diveas opposed to just a boot camp.
So that's pretty awesome.
Unify from zero to fluent.
Nobody better than darylderogia, the kevin bacon of
wi-fi, to teach a unify class.
This is gonna be pretty neat tosee going.
Uh, you know, from soup to nuts, if you will.
(28:32):
Uh, scalable visitor-basednetworks, wpa3 enterprise site
magic, automatic failover andmore.
How to set up unify and get itrunning.
Now, if you're new to wlpc andour whole group and you don't
have information about theWLANPy, I would absolutely
suggest that you take the timeto do this, either this year or
(28:52):
next year, because the WLANPy islike one of the most useful,
resourceful tools that we havein the industry and it's because
of the team that have puttogether and because of the
community that have contributedto it that's made it pretty
awesome.
So, if you haven't done theWLANPi deep dive, make sure you
do that.
(29:14):
A Wi-Fi design, site surveys andlive monitoring with Hamina
Wireless, taught by none otherthan Mr Jerry.
That's going to be very, verycool to watch and see what
they're doing and they've got apresentation about it.
And then the wonderful world ofWi-Fi 7 deep dive lots there.
Now, once you get through those, you've got the 30-minute
sessions.
30-minute sessions are talkingabout.
This is one of my favorites.
I think this is a crowdfavorite where it's Wes Purvis
(29:34):
asking does it matter what APyou buy?
And this is the 2025 edition.
So lots of detail, lots ofinformation, lots of statistics
about what's happened over thelast couple of years and
determining if the AP thatyou're purchasing does make a
difference.
Retail Rapsi is going to bepretty neat.
I'm interested to see this, first of all because I love
seeing GT.
Glad he's back this year again, which is awesome.
(29:56):
But this is what comes fromretail Drawing the experiences
from Amazon, home Depot, kroger, nike, target, walmart.
Gt knows how to talk real well,so he's going to give some
really cool information aboutwhat's going on in the retail
industry and what's like to doWi-Fi in retail, roaming Wars
and Handoff in 2.4.
Wi-fi 7, are we there yet?
(30:17):
Nicholas will give a greatpresentation, I'm sure, on that,
and then we can bust down intothe 20-minute talks here.
Misconceptions about and we canbust down into the 20-minute
talks here.
Misconceptions about antenna, mlo and puncture transmission.
That was cool last year.
Hope to see more about it thisyear.
Surveying CBRS Mark's gonna givea 20-minute talk so you'll get
to see what he's doing.
Hands-on MBSS IDs Jake's gonnabe talking about that.
(30:40):
Tom Carpenter's gonna betalking about soft skills.
Very important, very, veryimportant to have those soft
skills.
What else do we have on here?
Train, your replacement, mentoring, senior WLAN staff.
Dude, take a minute to justlike whatever you're doing.
When Lee gets up there, justmake sure you've got a water in
your hand or a coffee orwhatever.
Sit down and just lean intowhat Lee's going to talk about.
(31:01):
He's a wonderful person tolisten to and he's got a lot of
advice from an old-timer becausehe's old and because he's been
doing this a long time.
Because he's old and he's oldbecause he's been doing it a
long time and I don't know ifyou know this or not, but he is
(31:27):
an older gentleman, so he's gota lot of advice for you.
He's kind of a get-off-my-lawntype of guy, but in the best way
possible, and anybody thatknows lee and I know that we
love to just pick on each otherbecause, because we love each
other, I guess.
Anyway, understanding wpa3encryption by jd.
What else do we have on here?
Even is going to do apresentation, which is awesome.
If you don't follow her online, you totally should.
Ben toner is going to talkabout wi-fi 7 mlo and iphones.
Thater's going to talk aboutWi-Fi 7 MLO on iPhones.
That should be interesting towatch.
(31:48):
Enterprise Wi-Fi APs fromconcept to connectivity Okay,
let's see where that one goes.
Wi-fi lockdown See more.
Security, security, security.
Wi-fi tools versus vendordashboards.
Mmm, look at that.
Stone-cold face by Yussi A linein the sand.
He says Well.
Face by UC A line in the sand,he says Well, let's hope it's
not about Nicolas Cage.
(32:08):
10 Talks on Halo AItroubleshooting, 80 gigahertz
for fixed wireless networkspayment Fantastic individual.
Glad to see him doing one ofthese talks, which is phenomenal
, especially after he was herelast year.
Todd Smith's going to be there.
Henner Steiner's going to betalking about how Dollar Patch
Core took down a million-dollarnetwork.
This is one of my favoritethings to talk about and impress
(32:29):
upon people.
Make sure you spend money onthe right patch cables.
You're going to take all thiscrazy stuff in your network and
you're going to run acrosssomething that you fight tooth
and nail to find the cheapestversion of it possible.
Anyway, that'll be a fun one.
Iot use cases, rm our firstfootball season with outdoor 6G
(32:50):
at the Notre Dame Stadium Seecool information man.
Open roaming by Bruno rippingoff the Band-Aid on, I'm
assuming, on converting accesspoints.
Lots of stuff in here.
Lots of really cool stuff inhere.
So I'm excited to see those.
And then there's some othertalks there on the side.
But overall, y'all, I am excitedthat WLPC is coming up this
(33:12):
weekend and I really hope to seeyou there, especially if you've
never been.
I think you'll really get akick out of it.
It's a phenomenal way to spendthe week learning from people,
getting to know people, gettingto know new technology and new
products.
It really is.
It's a blast to be a part of.
So, that being said, I wantedto go and check and see if there
(33:33):
were any comments or anythingand address those if anyone had
any, but I don't see anything onthere and I'm not refreshing
the right way.
But anyhow, that's all, man, Ijust wanted to give you all a
quick sneak peek, maybe somedo's and don'ts and whatnot.
Have a good time.
Have a really good time.
Come with an open mind.
Bring your toys and tools ifyou want to show them off.
Just don't be the person thatdoes that in a way that causes
(33:56):
an issue for somebody else.
Last year is when I think wejust took over one of the rooms
and just started breaking stuff.
And not breaking I mean notlike actually breaking stuff,
but getting into the code onthings and getting into the
configuration on differentdevices to see how well they
(34:16):
performed Running tests andmeasurements across different
components to see can thisreally hold up?
I think this year I'm going topack some gear, because last
year the problem that we had iswe were trying to test MLO and
we didn't have a 10 gig switchport that we could plug into.
So I'm going to call around andmake sure there's enough gear
there so that if we do want totest something like multi-gig
(34:39):
wireless, then we have anopportunity to do it.
I ran a three gig speed testthis past week and it was
incredible and I would love tosee more of that.
So I might bring some gear outthere.
If there's something that youall want to see, please post in
the comments or reach out to achannel and get on the Slack and
talk about it.
But otherwise, looking forwardto it, I come in on Sunday night
(35:00):
.
I am getting in about I think Iget in at 10 o'clock at night.
So if you want to split an Uber, let me know.
And then Monday we're playinggolf and we'll be hanging out.
So if you want to say hi, youwant to reach out, if you're new
and you just need a point ofcontact, you want someone to
hang out with, give me a call, drop me a line, reach out to
anybody, literally anybody.
Find a couple of people thatyou want to meet and just go
(35:20):
meet them.
Just go walk up to them and say, hey, look, I'm new, my name is
so-and-so, whatever.
And for the veterans, Iencourage you to do the opposite
Go find a face that you don'tknow and just walk up to them
and it might make their day.
I met some people that hadwatched the podcast and I went
up and I just startedintroducing myself Like oh, my
God, here's a dude with thepodcast.
It's like well, yeah, I mean, there's not a lot of people who
(35:42):
do wireless-only podcasts, sothere's no celebrity there, but
I am in the wireless space, atleast I'm a voice, but it was
really neat to see that someonewho would not have come up and
approached me because theythought I might have been
inapproachable, I'm the guy whowent up and talked to them.
So be that person, be theperson that reaches out, go meet
new people, have a good time.
It's going to be fantastic.
I'm looking forward to seeingy'all.
(36:05):
We'll see you there.
Wlpc 2025 in Phoenix here we go, see you next week.
Y'all Bye.
