The recent dispute pitting OLIVER ANTHONY vs Cotton Eyed Joe is a story as old as time. In this story a poor guy, OLIVER ANTHONY, has pure/good intentions and is launched into overnight success and finds himself playing in "redneck famous" venues like the Cotton Eyed Joe in Knoxville, TN. The ensuing situation has forced him to face the reality that in life we often times have to pick our battles. We also, many times, have to admit to ourselves that we simply weren't seeing all sides of the coin when coming to our initial opinion on any given subject. We simply "cant know what we dont know" and "cant act like we've been there before" if we, well, havent in fact ever been there before! What we can do tho, is slow down, gather all the pertinent information, seek outside council and wisdom from trusted sources and then respond in the appropriate manner.
