Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have confirmed the identity of a man killed in a weekend shooting in Uptown as 37-year-old Arleigh Bryant. The shooting happened around 2 a.m. Sunday, near Encore Nightclub in Uptown's First Ward, where Bryant worked.
The deadly gunfire came just one day after another shooting occurred nearby, sparking concern and calls for action from residents and city leaders.
CMPD held a press conference Monday, announcing two arrests had been made in connection with the case so far. However, officials are not yet releasing the names of those arrested, citing an ongoing investigation.
