Current clinical practice lacks effective pain management during common gynecological procedures such as IUD insertion. Because of this, pain can often be a barrier for a patient in choosing a form of contraception that best serves them.  Kellie Coleman works in pain management as a nurse practitioner AND a chiropractor. She and Chelsea Carter are spearheading research to offer multimodal pain for women's care using neuroscience. Learn how transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS unit) offers an option for effective pain control during intrauterine device insertion. Tune in to find out how this can help and where you can find one!

Kellie and Chelsea Share:

  1. Why is IUD insertion so painful and how can we improve it

  2. Using neuroscience to improve women's pain

  3. Alternative non-pharmacological pain management for IUD insertion

  4. TENS unit, what it is and how it can help
