Are you sure? We Saw theDevil? Everyone? Welcome to We Saw
the Devil. Robin here And yes, I know, it has been roughly
a month since the previous episode.Honestly, a lot's been going on.
(01:10):
And I initially was waiting on Mother'sDay in the Suzanne Morphu case, because
I mean, we're obviously going toget there, because that's what this episode
is about. But then I wasalso waiting for the prosecution to rest and
the Chad day Bell trial. Irisand I have been closely following the Chad
(01:30):
day Bell trial and we were goingto, as I mentioned in a previous
episode, record and on a weeklybasis, discuss the prosecution and just so
much happened, and there's so manyother YouTubers and podcasts covering the trial.
We decided to hold off entirely untilthe prosecution decided to rest and they have
now, so Iris and I aregoing to record on that and discuss it.
(01:53):
But I have updates in a lotof cases. There's a lot going
on right now in the world oftrue crimees. I also still have the
Christian saga that needs to get finishedup. And yeah, there's just a
lot going on right now. Ifyou guys follow or are friends with me
on Facebook or Instagram, you alsoknow that I completely randomly lost my black
(02:15):
lab bathory a couple weeks ago.I'm not gonna lie, y'all. I'm
pretty fucked up over it. Thenight that had happened, I had laid
down with her to take a napat about six pm on two Fridays ago.
Now, my girlfriend got off workat eleven PM and called me on
her way home, which woke meup. So I got up to let
(02:35):
the dogs out. All the lightswere off and I noticed that Bathory wasn't
moving, so I turned on thelights and she had passed away. She
was dead at the foot of mybed and apparently had been for a couple
hours. Think the universe that mygirlfriend is a veterinarian. She got to
my house and within thirty minutes andbasically took care of everything, like shout
(02:58):
out, you are the love ofmy life life. But Bathory was just
eight years old and completely seemingly completelyhealthy, no issues whatsoever. I'm talking
about eight played earlier in that daywith the rest of the dogs, zero
indication that anything was wrong whatsoever. And I had been sleeping with her after
she had passed. And that's beenshocking and I don't think i've processed it
(03:21):
quite yet. A lot of youknow that I've experienced a lot of loss
over the last couple of years, and so that one just hit extra,
extra extra hard. But yeah,so, uh, if you follow me
on Instagram, I know that you'veseen the post. You know, probably
on Facebook as well. A coupleof you have reached out and just thank
you, thank you for your patiencewith everything. I promise I'm not disappearing,
(03:43):
and I haven't disappeared. It's justbeen a lot. But in any
case, I haven't talked about thisparticular case in months now because again,
as I stated a few moments ago, I have been waiting for the update
in the case, and that wouldbe the case of Susanne Morphew. If
you are unfamiliar, please go back. I did a previous episode on her.
(04:05):
She disappeared on Mother's Day, supposedlyallegedly after going for a bike ride.
Her husband, barrymore Few was theis the is the number one suspect
in her death. He was actuallyindicted and charged, but then a year
later prosecutors actually dropped those charges becausethey needed time to find Suzanne's body.
(04:29):
All of that happened before her remainshad been found. And then also the
judge accused Judicial District Attorney Linda Stanleyof procedural violations right before Barry was meant
to stand trial. That was it, and it was dropped without prejudice,
which means that the trial can resumeand new charges can be filed. Don't
(04:50):
like our odds. Right, now, let's wait a little while see if
we can locate Suzanne's body and gofrom there. Now, the reason this
case just read with me so strongly, and I know that all of you
listeners probably have your cases too, right where something about the victim just truly
just really pulls at your heart stringsand really resonates with you. That's how
(05:13):
I felt about Suzanne Morphew. She, by all accounts, was one of
the sweetest human beings. She lovedher daughters. Even though I'm not particularly
religious, she was apparently pretty religious. She was a survivor of multiple instances
of cancer, and she was ina very violent relationship with her husband,
Barry. We know this because oftext messages that had been released between Suzanne
(05:39):
and her friends. Not only that, but there was a spy pen involved,
which Suzanne actually purchased to try tocatch her husband having an affair.
But when investigators found the spy pin, it actually showed Suzanne was having an
affair with an old high school classmate, and Suzanne actually met up with him
(06:00):
multiple times, and he and Suzannewould basically text say sweet things to each
other about how they were going toleave their respective spouses and go live in
like Ecuador or South America together.I just really really felt for her,
stuck in an emotionally, physically andmentally violent relationship, and she began to
have an affair, you know, going through cancer treatments and chemo, and
(06:24):
she began to have an affair tohave some sort of tenderness in her life
and not excusing it. Cheating iswrong, but the woman went through so
much, and I think part ofme is so interested in this case.
And I mean, for the record, and you longtime listeners will know,
this is not something I do regularly, like ever, but there is no
(06:46):
way in hell in my mind,in my mind personally, that very mor
Few is not guilty in this Idon't know how he managed to cover his
tracks so well. I mean,he didn't really right, you know,
talk about circumstantial evidence, Jesus Christ. There's no doubt in my mind that
this man did it. And Iwas trying after you know, her remains
(07:09):
were found last September, just severalmonths ago, and it took seven months
for the toxicology report to come out, which came out last month. I
thought for sure, I was personallywaiting to do an episode on this,
hoping that shortly, you know,up until or shortly after Mother's Day of
this year, a couple weeks ago, that we would have very more Few
(07:31):
doing a purp walk, that hewould be arrested yet again for this.
Now that we have her body andautopsy results, surely surely there'd be an
you know, an arrest of verymore Few, and that hasn't happened yet.
So just want to go over justa couple updates in this case,
with this really quick episode, justto get it out of the way,
(07:54):
because you guys, know that memeof that kid that's holding his breath in
like the blonde, curly hair andhe's holding his breath, then usually people
make a meme out of it,being like a vegan not telling someone they're
vegan for five minutes. But that'sliterally how I have felt holding in the
Susanne Morphew update because just oh,I want to see him go down so
badly. Just to kind of recapwhat happened Mother's Day, May twenty twenty,
(08:22):
Susan Morphew and Barry Morphew had twodaughters, Mallory and Macy, and
they were unable to get a holdof her to wish her happy Mother's Day.
Basically, no one could get ahold of her. Barry apparently was
out of town but came home, got a phone call about it. The
police were called, they came. They ended up finding her bike kind of
(08:43):
sorta nearby. It was down aravine. They came and they searched the
house. They found a bunch ofsus stuff. They found a tranquilizer dart
cap in the family dryer. Imean, it was sus And then let's
not even and that's not even mentioningBarry more few work truck like his private
vehicle, and when they got thelocation and the computer system from the onboard
(09:07):
computer, you know, in termsof when the car moved, when it
turned on, when doors opened, all of that stuff. The day slash
evening that Susan morphew disappeared very moreFew for whatever reason, was like up
all night, you know, movinghis car two, three, four or
five in the morning. At onepoint it went offline. And it's just
(09:28):
a whole mess. Again, Pleaselisten to the previous episode that I did
on it for the full you know, breakdown in chronological order. But suffice
it to say, y'all, theman is sus as hell and then also
don't forget that that same day hewent out of town to like Broomfield,
Colorado. Said he had a jobas he's a contractor. He stopped at
(09:50):
on camera five different dumpsters to throwtrash away, and then got a hotel
room in which he went in broughttwo like gardening type tools like hoe and
other things, and then left andsmelled like bleach. He reaked horribly.
I mean, sure, strange thingshappen. I do believe in coincidence.
(10:15):
I believe in Aukham's razors. Istayed on almost every single episode. The
most likely explanation is probably generally itright, like the one where the ones
where you don't have to explain thingsaway constantly. Those of you who have
been following true crime for a longtime know that typically it's the husband,
and that's with less evidence than this. You know, it's speculated that very
(10:39):
more few discovered which he did knowhe did know about the affair, that
he discovered the affair. About aweek before Suzanne Morphew's disappearance, she texted
him and said, I'm done.I don't care what you've been doing for
the last couple of years. I'mdone. It's speculated that very more few
returned home, attacked and killed her. That's what investigators are speculs. So
(11:01):
it's just it's a freaking mess.It is a freaking mess. I have
a major disdain for Barry Morfew. As soon as Suzanne went missing, he
got online and made this plea forher safe return. And I think everyone
pretty much collectively knew in that momentthat he probably did it some gone girl
level shit that just doesn't fly.He was seen after she disappeared. He
(11:22):
had multiple cuts, scratches, andabrasions on his arms and hands, and
then again the stinking of chlorine afterhe left a hotel in Broomfield. And
not only that, but he hadsigned up for Ashleymadison dot com, which
is basically, for those of youwho are unaware, a website devoted to
(11:43):
people, typically men, who arelooking to have sex outside of their marriage
or relationship. It's quite literally justfor cheaters, for people to find people
to have an affair with. Andhe was signed up on Ashley Madison after
Suzanne disappeared. He then voted inthe election, filing a vote for Donald
Trump under Suzanne Morphew's name. Hewas charged with that. He's just hallfull,
(12:09):
y'all. He is just absolutely awful. And one I guess tie into
the Chad Dabel trial is that thedaughters, Macy and Mallory completely support their
dad. I will not even forgetthe day that he was released, like
the charges were dropped against him withoutprejudice, and they walked out of the
(12:31):
courtroom, you know, hand inhand, one girl on either side,
and they completely believe that their fatherwas innocent, and I just I can't
imagine being them. But I alsocan't imagine being the day Bell kids either.
You know, they lost their mother, she disappeared, and then here's
(12:52):
their father, which it's been knownthat they are Daddy's girls, you know
for the most part. But withso much circumstantial evidence, you know,
like everything we know about the Morphewcase, right, but then everything we
also know about the Chad day BellLoris Valo case as well. Granted,
yes there's a little bit of LDSchurch extremism, you know, Chad day
(13:15):
Bell was the dad of the house, all that patriarchal bullshit. But still
with so much evidence staring you inthe face, circumstantial, physical or otherwise,
how can someone just blindly follow theirparent when it's so apparent that they
killed their other, you know, parent. I just I don't, for
(13:35):
the life of me understand it.Maybe I'm not meant to, but really
for this episode, it's just goingto be a really quick one. But
I just wanted to mention the updatein this case. So, Susanne Morpheu's
body was found in Moffatt, Colorado, about fifty miles south of the Morphew
home last September, and the reasonit was found is that it was found
(13:56):
by a CBI team who was actuallylooking for a different person. They didn't
find their remains, but they didend up finding Suzanne's in this place is
incredibly remote, it's the high desert, and they found her scattered bones there.
The autopsy itself only took a coupledays to complete, but it took
(14:18):
seven months for them to release thetoxicology results, and an anonymous sourus has
come out and said that they actuallygot that did the test perform these tests
from the bone marrow of Suzanne morphuzFemur. What did they find in this
autopsy? Well, what did theyfind at the scene. Her bones were
scattered. There had been signs ofpredation in terms of, you know,
(14:41):
animals disturbing her bones and whatnot. They also found chemicals that do not appear
naturally in humans, and the ChafeyCounty Medical Examiner determined that she died via
homicide quote by undetermined to means inthe setting of utrophenol, zaparone, and
(15:03):
metatomidine intoxication. You might be saying, okay, whatever, these same sedatives.
Barry Morphew previously admitted to and toldinvestigators that he used these tranquilizers to
shoot deer in his yard with atranquilizer gun that he used these All three
(15:26):
of these drugs are incredibly powerful tranquilizers. A zaparone is actually itself routinely used
in veterinary medicine, while metatomidine isused as a surgical anesthetic. Riddle me
this. Susanne Morphew was found withanimal tranquilizer in her system. And then
when the CBI came and searched theMorphew home, they found a dart cap
(15:50):
in the dryer. They found anupstairs bedroom that had damage on the frame
like it had been kicked in.They found a lot of different aspects when
they ran the cell phone records andGPS. Remember, it looked like very
more few based on his cell phonepings had been running around the house potentially
(16:11):
chasing something. His car details, location GPS was all fucked up. He
turned it on off, moved hiscar to and from his car, even
his truck even went to the spotwhere her bicycle was found at like three
am before returning home. Then itwent offline entirely. I don't know,
(16:33):
y'all. It's just there's circumstantial evidence, I get, but that's just too
much. That's just too freaking much. Not to mention him needing to stop
at five different trash cans in thesame town the day that she disappeared.
For what purpose he stopped at fivedifferent trash cans to throw out articles of
(16:53):
clothing and shoes and random things likethat. I mean, I think our
mind only goes to one right, and again, I just in my soul
believe there's no way that he can'tbe involved here. They also found a
bullet at the scene. Being asurvivor of cancer and actively going through chemo
at the time of her death,Suzanne did have a port. So there's
(17:15):
just so much speculation. There's beena lot of speculation as to the method
of delivery for these particular drugs.Did Barry more Few hunt Suzanne down like
an animal, shoot her with atranquilizer dart, then kill her and then
dump her body. Was this justa random person who happened to be strolling
by, who somehow had these threeincredibly strong tranquilizers, including both veterinary and
(17:41):
human grade, and decided to killher that way. And then it just
so happened that Barry mor Few justhad a tranquilizer dart in his pant pocket
that ended up in the dryer. Is it just coincidence that he moved his
car all around the place throughout thetrash, went to hotel washed random tools,
(18:02):
came out smelling like chlorine. There'sjust no way, in my opinion,
for whatever that's worth. But Ihave been watching this non stop.
Barry's attorney has come out and said, quote, the authorities offered the victims,
Barry, Mallory and Macy the optionto retrieve Suzanne's remains, but they
want to ensure the suspect is apprehendedbefore they take what could be an important
(18:26):
piece of evidence in the suspects prosecution. And by all accounts. You know,
Barry wasn't that cooperative originally when hewas arrested or during the investigation.
Just a couple of weeks ago,in the beginning of May, there was
actually a memorial service back in Indianafor Suzanne Morphew. Barry actually snuck into
(18:48):
it with Mallory and Macy. Malloryand Macy are the ones who organized it,
and then you know, Barry snuckin. He didn't speak, neither
did they, but Barry's older sisterwent, his nieces went, and then
also surely Morfew. Susanne Morpheu's motheralso attended. Susan's friend, Holly Wilson,
who many of you may know thename based on the arrest affidavit.
(19:12):
She made a very lengthy speech abouther and Suzanne's friendship. It's all just
really really sad. But I amchecking this case for updates every single day
because the day that Barry Morphew isarrested is going to be one of the
best days of me doing this podcastbecause what a gross human being he is.
But I just wanted to get thisquick update. I know it's not
(19:33):
much, y'all, but I justwanted to get this quick update out there
regarding the state of that case. That's kind of why. It's sort of
why I've been waiting after the autopSERI results came back. Still no charges
filed as IF yet, but Iwill be screaming and clicking my heels in
glee when there is an update. When an IF, rather, I should
say, my faith in humanity ispretty much gone. But just a couple
(19:56):
other things I want to mention, did you guys hear about that terrifying stabbing
incident that happened in Braintree, Massachusettsearlier this week? I just what the
fuck? On Saturday? For thoseof you who aren't unaware, there were
four girls who were just going tosee a movie in an AMC movie theater
(20:18):
in Braintree, Massachusetts this past Saturday. This man just walked into the movie
theater, took out a knife andstabbed four girls, ages nine to seventeen.
None of them think thankfully passed. The suspect's name was Jared Revisa and
he was from chill Mark, massAfter that, he ran out of the
(20:40):
movie theater and he had blood allover him. He got into his car,
which was a black SUV, andthen he drove to Plymouth, mass
where he went into a McDonald's andstabbed a twenty nine year old man.
He just basically went on a rampage. He has since been charged with multiple
different charges, including assault with atent to murder. Wild We had the
(21:03):
Aurora movie theater shooting a couple ofyears ago, and this is actually like
the second in the last six monthsstabbing at a movie theater I've read about.
And the other one, if yourecall, a girl and her boyfriend
went to go see a movie.A man came in, sat behind them
and then almost decapitated one of them. Just came in and stabbed from behind.
What is wrong with people? Like? Is this a new phenomenon about
(21:27):
movie theaters being a scene of stabbings? Now? I'm just not quite getting
it, But that is absolutely awful. Another episode that I'm considering doing.
I'm not sure if there'll be anyinterest in this is the puff Daddy.
You know, Sean Diddy combs everythinghe's being accused of. There's now a
sixth accuser who has come out againsthim. Her name is April Lamposts,
(21:52):
and she said that she was attendingthe Fashion Institute of Technology in the early
nineteen nineties in New York City, and she said that she had for quote
unquote terrifying sexual encounters with him,and it's just absolutely crazy. So she's
now the sixth person who's come forwardin a brand new lawsuit saying that he
drugged and sexually assaulted her. There'sbeen a lot out against Shawn Combs,
(22:18):
a lot, and it's actually kindof complex. So I'm thinking about doing
I mean, it would fit intomy series of criminal musicians, right.
And the puff Daddy stuff is actuallywild too, because so much random shit
has come out. I remember, even as a teenager that there were rumors
of sex parties with Shawn Combs, with p Diddy or what puff Daddy whatever
(22:41):
the fuck you know, of himsleeping with other men, that there were
orgies at his home all the time. I mean, those rumors had been
circulating since the time that I wasa teenager. And then now with the
Facebook, social media, YouTube andTikTok generation, some people have posted the
receipts. There's one video of himkissing another man. Now it's speculated there
(23:02):
is a very very very strong rumor, including from coming from some pretty relevant
people and close by people, sayingthat he could have potentially sexually abused Justin
Bieber. When Justin Bieber was young, Sean Combs did a lot for him
and was with him a lot.So now people are saying that he could
have sexually assaulted him and that there'syou know, big rumor surrounding that.
(23:25):
And at this point many people havestepped forward saying they witness the sex trafficking,
the physical violence, the mental abuse, and so forth, almost like
what's his name? R Kelly leveltype of stuff. I would like to
do an episode on that, diga little deep and discuss all that he's
being accused of, because it's reallydisturbing. People are sick, you guys.
People are sick, and it seemslike, you know, when you
(23:48):
have like Army Hammer and p Diddy, Danny Masters, I mean, the
list goes on and on. HarveyWeinstein, money and power can absolutely corrupt
or corrupt absolutely. But I justwanted to get a quick episode out let
you guys know that I'm alive.I am here. Next episode is going
to be a Chris chan update. After that, Iris and I are going
(24:08):
to do an episode on the Chadday Bell trial. How it's been going
so far, what we think, what the fuck is going on with the
day Bell kids. They can dotheir testimony and basically contradict what the investigation
had already turned up earlier on.That's been interesting. Also, we have
the Brian Coberger case out of Idaho, which is just getting wilder by the
(24:32):
minute. And lastly, the finalreason I kind of held off is that
I was actually looking really forward tocovering the Delphi murder suspect Richard Allen.
His trial was literally scheduled to beginon May thirteenth, but the week before,
Special Judge fran Gull granted the wishesof the defense to vacate that trial
(24:52):
date. The new trial dates areOctober fourteenth through November fifteenth, and that
entire trial is shape up to bea complete and utter shit show because the
defense basically requested a speedy trial rightin the beginning of this month. In
early May, the defense filed amotion to have Judge gall disqualify herself from
the case. The defense team said, hey, we're not ready to have
(25:18):
this trial. We haven't had accessto the defendant, to our client,
we haven't had time to review everything, and we haven't really had a lot
of pre trial hearings. To goover what potential evidence can be used in
the trial. The judge was like, nope, nope, nope, nope,
nope, nope, Sorry, notgoing anywhere. And the defense attorney,
Rozzy, argued that literally said thisto the judge, said, quote,
(25:41):
you don't know anything about this case. Shots fired, and don't forget
that. Previously, the defense teamhad already gone to the Indiana Supreme Court
to remove Judge Gall, and theSupreme Court basically laughed in their face and
said, no, fam Judge Gallis still there. And then before that,
Judge Gull had attempted to have Baldwinand Rozzy, two members of the
(26:03):
defense team, were moved from thecase entirely because of an evidence leap.
I don't know how many of youare aware of this, but someone who
had access to the physical pictures ofAbby and Libby dead like they're actual dead
bodies. Somehow that evidence actually gotleaked and pictures of their bodies appeared on
(26:26):
discord and started making their way acrossthe internet. Someone leaked that took a
picture and leaked that evidence. JudgeGull called them sloppy and incompetent. It
has just been an absolute nightmare sincethe very very beginning. So in any
case, we are not going tohave a trial for Richard Allen until mid
(26:47):
October. And that's another person thatI really can't wait to see go down.
It's very very clear. You know, it took years. It took
up what almost five years for himto be arrested in this murder. But
once you hear his voice and seehis stature in his mannerisms, and then
you re listen to and watch thevideo again for the down the hill,
I mean, it's pretty chilling.So that's going to be a very interesting
(27:11):
trial, if for no other reasonthan the fact that the defense team really
planned to present this alternative murder theory. And this was kind of a big
deal on Reddit and online and whatnot. But the defense is trying to say
that there's a local pagan group andthat they came and they killed the girls
in a ritualistic fashion. And theprosecution sought to bar the defense from mentioning
(27:37):
cult or ritualistic killing and a seriesof other terms as well, and then
also preventing them from mentioning several namesof people who were previously linked to the
case in one way or another, like Keegan Klein, who had been talking
to one of the girls and wasactually bound to be a pedophile. Lots
and lots of child porn. Imean, in last, but not least.
(28:00):
But there's an unsealed document of analleged phone call that took place between
Richard Allen and his wife Kathy,And in that document it says, quote
in that phone call, Richard mAllen admits several times that he killed Abby
and Libby. Investigators had the phonecall transcribed, and the transcription confirms that
Richard m Allen admits that he committedthe murders of Abigail Williams and Liberty Germaine.
(28:25):
He admits several times within the phonecall that he committed the offenses as
charged. His wife Kathy Allen endsthe phone call abruptly. This document went
on to say, and I didan episode on the Delphi murders. That
was after Richard Allen was in factcharged. There was this huge press conference.
So if you are a little bitbehind, haven't heard of this case,
(28:47):
it is deeply compelling. It isjust an absolute tragedy. More or
less, two girls went out fora walk in their local park, walking
along the railroads. They were approachedby a man. One of them took
out their phone and had video ofit, and you hear this. You
see this man walking towards them overa railroad a bridge, and the police
(29:07):
released an audio snippet from it whereyou hear him say down the hill,
like he's directing the girls to godown the hill. They were found deceased
not terribly far away. Apparently thescene was very staged. They were posed.
Richard m Allen was actually arrested andcharged when investigators went in and they
(29:29):
got his gun and they were ableto prove that that bullet found at the
scene had been discharged through his gun. It leaves almost like a calling card
on that bullet, you know, scrapings and whatnot, and so they were
able to identify his gun and thenarrested him accordingly. Also, he was
he fully admits that he was inthe park that day and he actually went
(29:51):
up to an investigator and offered assistancewhen they were looking for the girls after
they didn't, you know, comeback to the car and when they should
have to be picked. But again, if you're looking for a more in
depth version of that story, Idid do a full episode on the Delphi
murders. That's it for today, you guys. I just wanted to get
a quick episode out let you knowwhat's been going on. I am back,
expect back to the usual two episodesper week, and there is a
(30:15):
lot to talk about, so let'sget busy again. Next episode is going
to be a Chris chan update. Then we're going to talk about Chad day
Bell. Hopefully there's going to bea movement in Susanne morphew, They're better
be What a happy bunch we are, y'all. So many uplifting stories to
talk about here. I feel likepatreons for True Crime podcast should include like
(30:37):
lexapro as a benefit or something kidding, not kidding but still. But in
any case, guys, I lovey'all. Until next Crime
