SPEAKER_00 (00:11):
Hey everybody and welcome to We Watch TV.
It is the podcast about the TVthat we watch.
I am Daniel.
She is Hope.
This is episode 102.
Yes, we're late, but better latethan never.

SPEAKER_02 (00:24):
It's a miracle it's happening at all.

SPEAKER_00 (00:26):
A miracle.

SPEAKER_02 (00:27):
Just think of it as the glacial pace to get this
podcast out.
Let's think of it as the glacialpace that poor old man took
getting on the plane on ourflight home.

SPEAKER_00 (00:37):
Oh my

SPEAKER_02 (00:38):
gosh.
Should we talk about that?
I

SPEAKER_00 (00:40):
guess.
I don't know that I want torelive it, but okay.

SPEAKER_02 (00:43):
We'll talk about my birthday vacation in all its
glory in just a few minutes.
Because, you know, I am a yearolder now.
I'm not going to say how old.
You can do the math, whatever.
Anyway, we were exiting ourvacation, as one does.
We step out of the Disneybubble.
We're at the airport.
Flight was on time, which wasgood.

(01:03):
It seemed like the coffee makerswere in order this time.
Everything was a go.

SPEAKER_00 (01:07):
It was like half empty.
The flight was like half empty.

SPEAKER_02 (01:10):
Which was really nice.
The little person that...
scans your boarding passes asyou get on the plane he was
doing you know the lord's workbecause there was some girl that
was like trying to like violatethe bag policy and I was like oh
great we're gonna have to standhere while she like combines her
bags and he was like well youcan you're gonna have to combine
that next so which I mean

SPEAKER_00 (01:33):
yeah I mean

SPEAKER_02 (01:35):
I wanted to like give him a hug if I wasn't hug
adverse

SPEAKER_00 (01:38):
they only tell you like 50 times you can only bring
on two bags I

SPEAKER_02 (01:42):
heard her talking about it before we were getting
on there because she was rightin front of me she was like
friends I think with the ladythat was like a little um
boarding group behind us but shewas even saying She's saying,
like, I'm probably not going tobe able to bring all this on.
She's like, so, and she wastrying to already combine bags,
but I think she was, I think shedecided she was going to push it
and see what she could get by.

(02:03):
I'm like, have you learnednothing?
She got nothing.
I assume he's sweet.
He could be an awful person.
I don't know.
Slow old man.
And he is just going, y'all, ata gingerly pace.

(02:25):
And we're not making fun of theelderly, but very slow to get on
the plane.
That is not fool.
You

SPEAKER_00 (02:32):
were right

SPEAKER_02 (02:33):
behind him.

(03:01):
do you need help?
And so like, so I like have myhands in the air, which I think
the flight attendant or somebodyelse stepped in right at that
moment.
Well, we didn't really notice atthe time.
Well, I think we noticed, but wedidn't really think much

SPEAKER_00 (03:14):
of it.
I noticed exactly what row heslid

SPEAKER_02 (03:16):
into.
So, He sat in the exit rowbecause he probably wanted to
enjoy that, you know, spaciousleg room.
So we just kind of like, Inoticed it a little bit, I
think, once we sat down.
I was like, oh, exit row.
So we're doing our thing.
We're trying to get ready, getour headphones in, you know,
halfway.
I mean, we'll just say we werelistening.
I

SPEAKER_00 (03:35):
don't listen to them tell me the safety things at all
because it's all just a bunch ofBS.
But

SPEAKER_02 (03:40):
we both listened to it this time for some reason.
And they're like, if you cannow, for those of you in the
exit row can you perform thefunctions we

SPEAKER_00 (03:52):
are cooked

SPEAKER_02 (03:54):
Daniel and I both looked at each other with our
buffer seat in between usbecause obviously why would we
sit next to each other on aflight that's not full give me
the buffer seat thank you wejust looked at each other and
that's exactly what we said wewere like we're cooked because I
see folks

SPEAKER_00 (04:10):
if that guy's in charge of getting the exit door
open no one's getting off thatplane it's not happening

SPEAKER_02 (04:15):
the door's not getting open no one's getting
off that plane and the thing iswe're not making fun because one
time i was asked by a southwestflight attendant mind you i
don't know i must have lookedlike very young and spry
compared to everybody else inthe flight it's probably one of
those winter flights where i wasfull of like elderly or like
people with grandkids orchildren and they're like would
you mind moving to the exit rowum and i said oh you wouldn't

(04:39):
want me in charge of anemergency like i mean there's
just no we were we'd all becooked if i was in charge so
just know like know that When

SPEAKER_00 (04:50):
I fly by myself, I sit on them.

SPEAKER_02 (04:51):
Because you like the leg room.

SPEAKER_00 (04:52):
I like the leg room and nothing's going to happen.

SPEAKER_02 (04:54):
But hopefully...

SPEAKER_00 (04:55):
And if something happens, me sitting in there is
not going to matter.

SPEAKER_02 (05:00):
I think you'd be able to get the door open a
little

SPEAKER_00 (05:02):
quicker.
Listen, listen.
Either it's something thathappens on the tarmac and it's
not really that big of anemergency and I can just do my
thing with the door open.
Oh my gosh, knock

SPEAKER_02 (05:09):
on wood, stop talking,

SPEAKER_00 (05:10):
stop talking.
Or the plane has crashed and itdoesn't matter.

SPEAKER_02 (05:12):
Stop talking, stop talking.
I always wear tennis shoes whenI fly in case I'm in a loss-type
situation.
I'm going to have to run aroundin the woods.
I don't want to have, like, aflip-flop on.

SPEAKER_00 (05:22):
Listen, no.
Okay.
Okay.
Even beyond your reasoning here.
I make sure I wear a supportivecrop.
No, no, no.
Even beyond your reasoning here, anybody who wears flip-flops on
an airplane is a psychopath.
That is psychopath behavior.
Wearing flip-flops on anairplane.
I mean, I have only in the lastcouple years decided that it's
okay to wear shorts on anairplane because I don't want my

(05:44):
body.
I want to limit the amount of mybody touching things on the
airplane.

SPEAKER_02 (05:47):
You could be like that

SPEAKER_00 (05:48):
lady.
I'm not a germaphobe.

SPEAKER_02 (05:50):
That we watch because I am a germaphobe.
But you could be, not to thislevel, but you could be like
that lady that I got because wewere behind the slow old man.
Did you notice that?
And the husband looked like hehad been through it, y'all.
So it was like the husband, thekid, and the wife.
Did you notice in the time westood there, she had like Lysol
wipes and she was wiping downall the seats.

(06:10):
I did not see that.
And then she was passing it tothe other kid that was across
the aisle.
The husband and I made eyecontact because at one point
they dropped one of the wipesand I was about ready to bend
down and pick it up.
He

SPEAKER_00 (06:20):
gave you a gem look, didn't he?

SPEAKER_02 (06:21):
I witnessed all of this because I was just standing
there waiting for that man tolike move.
So I mean, yeah, we would havebeen.
But just the fact that you and Iboth looked at each other at the
same time and just kept Like,oh, we're screwed in the event
of an emergency because we gotthis guy sitting on the exit
row.
Because I think we heard herbecause the exit row was, like,
right in front of us, right?

(06:42):
It was only a couple rows upthere.
And they were like, can youperform these duties?
And that's where you and Ilooked at each other and was
like, I don't think he can.

SPEAKER_00 (06:48):
He ain't going to be able to do it.

SPEAKER_02 (06:50):
I mean, I'm five feet tall, and I'm sitting there
in a tiny little gal, and I'mabout to, like, catch his
carry-on bag in the air.
And I feel like you're watchingthat in horror, like, Ope, you
can't

SPEAKER_00 (06:59):
help him.
It's like slow motion, becauseI'm far enough behind you.

SPEAKER_02 (07:02):
The flight attendant stepped in front

SPEAKER_00 (07:04):
of you.
Yeah, yeah, the flight attendantwas in between us.
There was nothing I could do tohelp.
Like, there was just nothing Icould do.
And you're like, Ope, don'tvolunteer! Except watch you
potentially get your headsmashed by this guy's random
bag.

SPEAKER_02 (07:18):
What?
Where were we?
Was it on the flight on the waydown where we witnessed that
other old couple?
Like the man just left his wife.

SPEAKER_01 (07:26):
Oh,

SPEAKER_02 (07:28):
yeah.
So we're getting off.
Probably our parents' age, I'dsay.

SPEAKER_00 (07:33):
No, no.
I think they're younger.
I think they're younger thanthat.
Everyone's looking

SPEAKER_02 (07:36):
old to

SPEAKER_00 (07:36):
me now.
Yeah.
Older, young.
There's no between.
He grabbed the bag and just tookoff.

SPEAKER_02 (07:40):
Just power walked out of there.
It's not as easy to roll yourbag out of the tunnel thing.
You have to lift it up.
And she's struggling with it.
And then we see him turn aroundand she's like, hello.
There's our future, Daniel.
Take it in in all its glory.
A little casual airline feuding.

SPEAKER_00 (07:58):
We keep our feuds at a reasonable and quiet volume if
they are in public

SPEAKER_02 (08:04):
party face

SPEAKER_00 (08:04):
we try not to make a scene if we can help it When
we're arguing in public.

SPEAKER_02 (08:09):
Or if we start to make a scene, Daniel's like,
let's go get some coffee.
Let's go get some Starbucks.
Let's eat something.
Let's get you some food.

SPEAKER_00 (08:17):
Let's get you some food.

SPEAKER_02 (08:18):
When we arrived, I wanted my birthday button.
And we tried to do that firstthing.
But the Emporium at MagicKingdom, as usual, was a mess.
And I was like, I cannot do thisright now.
Well, basically what happenedwas somebody's random child, I
don't know where their parentswere, almost tripped me.
And I almost fell over like tokick off the trip like that

(08:40):
would have sucked to have to belike in a scooter describing

SPEAKER_00 (08:43):
that event is like every five minutes for me at
Disney

SPEAKER_02 (08:46):
I know people are like there's always kids at
Disney no there was a lot ofkids at Disney this trip and I
know you guys are thinking likethat's where kids go when I say

SPEAKER_00 (08:55):
they don't go there by themselves people have to
bring them there

SPEAKER_02 (08:57):
influx of like it was like Maybe I should say like
uncontrolled kids.
Like just random.
I've never had a trip where somany kids have darted out in
front of me.
Like normally I blame like the,not the scooters, like the
strollers for people that pushthe strollers.
And this time it was kidspushing kids in strollers.
I don't know where the parentswere on their cell phones.

(09:18):
I don't know what was going on.
But I've never had so many kidsthat like have almost tripped me
by just like sprinting away.
And I'm like, where are yourparents?

SPEAKER_00 (09:26):
Have child leashes fallen out of favor?
Because I didn't see nearly asmany of them as I would have
thought.

SPEAKER_02 (09:31):
So it's like you've got the kids that are about to
trip you.
You've got the old man on theplane.
Other than that, it was a reallyfun trip.
I think I'm almost ruined forlife for fireworks experience.

SPEAKER_00 (09:45):
Go ahead.
Tell them.

SPEAKER_02 (09:46):
Tell them

SPEAKER_00 (09:47):
about the room.
By the way, I just want toremind everybody that this
birthday present was provided byme.
I make money, too, a little bit.
I should get the...
You're so nice for giving herthis gift on her birthday.

SPEAKER_02 (10:03):
You are nice for...
On

SPEAKER_00 (10:05):
her birthday.

SPEAKER_02 (10:06):
For my...
I feel like I've been planningthis particular milestone
birthday since I was like 17 andI was at Disney and I'm like,
someday I'm going to stay in aroom and I'm going to watch the
fireworks from my room becauseit's like your 20s.
Finding that firework spot isthe Hunger Games.
Like that old man on the planetrying to put his stuff in the
compartment.
He would not last two seconds.
Those little kids trippingpeople, they're scrappy.

(10:27):
They're going to last a while.
So it's like, you know, everything in between.
And then our...
I'm going to reveal my age.
The next decade, after my 20s,we started doing dessert
parties, which were really nice.
And we did the one that you...
There's different levels.
We like to sit.
And I'm very short.
I'm five feet tall.
I love a good sit.

(10:47):
So, like...
If I camp out for a spot andthen you put your head on your
shoulders, that's about myheight.
Your child is like nearly myheight anyway.
And then I can't see anythingand I've done all that work.
It's just not worth it for me.
So we started doing dessertparties.
We're like, you know what?
It is expensive, but it's worthit because we get to sit.
We get to look at the fireworks.

(11:08):
We get to eat some desserts andappetizers.
You know, it's all good.
And that was nice, but you stillhave to fight– like the crowds
getting out and you still don'thave like your own bathroom.
Well,

SPEAKER_00 (11:22):
before we go forward, do you remember that
time where we hadn't watched thefireworks, nor had we done a
dessert party, but we still gotcaught in the crowd and you got
lost.

SPEAKER_02 (11:31):
We both got

SPEAKER_00 (11:31):
lost.
Like I was looking for, I waslooking for my child.

SPEAKER_02 (11:35):
I felt like I was looking for my child.
That was like last year.
We had gone to the Magic Kingdomin the evening, and what had
happened was they were like, nowwe're just skipping around, so
we're just going to tell thisstory, my birthday story,
because now I did not get lost.
You did not get lost.
We got separated.

SPEAKER_00 (11:50):
Oh, okay, okay.
You weren't lost.
You knew exactly where you were.

SPEAKER_02 (11:53):
I knew how to find you.
They wouldn't let me go thatway.

SPEAKER_00 (11:56):
No, that's true.

SPEAKER_02 (11:56):
And basically, I think because I'm so small, I
got wrapped up in one crowd, andyou got the other, and I'm like,
where the heck are you?
And then you tried– I think theyeventually let me cross where
you're not supposed to because Iwas like, I can't find the
members of my party.
I think I said that instead ofmy husband, so maybe I'd appear
younger.
So they moved the tape and letme find you.

(12:19):
But we were trying to go back todo rides in the evening or
something.
And I don't know.
They

SPEAKER_00 (12:26):
closed off the area behind the castle.
Yeah.
To like any cross trafficwhatsoever.
So you had to go down to themain area and try and cross that
way.

SPEAKER_02 (12:34):
And we weren't even trying to leave the park.
We were just trying to like goride like pirates or something.

SPEAKER_00 (12:38):
Yeah.
We were just trying to get tothe other side.
And somehow

SPEAKER_02 (12:41):
we got separated.
And like I and you were like,I'm over here.
I'm like, oh, my gosh.
I'm like, I'm going to walk allthe way around to find you.
Because like we finally once Icalmed down because I was
freaking out.
I was like, where are you?
And you're like, where are you?
I'm just right around thecorner.
And I'm like, what?
corner because we at that pointwe realized we were like totally
on opposite ends

SPEAKER_00 (12:58):
they also had that like um and they

SPEAKER_02 (13:01):
weren't letting you cross at

SPEAKER_00 (13:02):
all they weren't letting me go anywhere and but
they also had that special exitbehind the entry that they have
open sometimes but i knew youdidn't go that way

SPEAKER_02 (13:10):
no

SPEAKER_00 (13:11):
and i was like they were like you just need to go
this way and i'm like no iabsolutely do not need to go
that way

SPEAKER_02 (13:16):
they ended up letting me cross real quick
because i like i think the guylike took absolute pity on me
anyway

SPEAKER_00 (13:24):
Anyway, in our now age, of which we will not
disclose,

SPEAKER_02 (13:30):
we've

SPEAKER_00 (13:31):
moved up to a different viewing angle for the
fireworks.

SPEAKER_02 (13:33):
Because I just don't think at this age that I'm meant
to live an uncomfortable life.
I feel like I quoted that allweek while we were there.
We had at Disney's ContemporaryResort Main Tower a theme park
view room.
So we got to watch the fireworksand we watched them every night

(13:54):
of that trip.
We got to watch Happily EverAfter.
We had such a great view that wecould even see some of the
projections on the castle thatthey do.
Obviously, you're always goingto see the projections better
when you're like right on MainStreet.
But like the part with if you'veever seen Happily Ever After,
there's a scene with At Last ISee the Light and the lanterns
for Rapunzel.
We got to see that part.
We could see in a tiny, tinydistance where Tinkerbell flies

(14:17):
at the very end.
We could even see that.
It was really cool um and theyand basically they have this
channel that you can do i knowlike when we've been at
wilderness lodge we watch on theriver they pump the music in and
i was like i wonder if we'regonna be able to hear it from
our room well no you just likesync your tv up yeah and it
starts exactly on time becauseby like night three when we were
like it was like that's just thelife we're living i'm like in

(14:40):
the bath i'm like in thebathroom and i'm like oh crap
because i hear that and daniel'slike it's starting it was almost
like the time we stayed atanimal kingdom lodge by the end
we're like oh there's a

SPEAKER_00 (14:50):
I'm laying in bed like, oh, there's a zebra.
It was

SPEAKER_02 (14:54):
really, really, really cool.
So awesome.
Such...
a dream come true and the bestpart was we could watch in our
comfy clothes I think everynight but one because the only
night the night we had a laterdinner we wouldn't have pajamas
on but the other nights we werealready in our pajamas so we
didn't have to fight for abathroom just turn around go use
the bathroom and the crowdfighting the crowd was just

(15:17):
fighting Daniel to get out ofthe way of the door first to get
back in the room it was reallynice and awesome and amazing and
incredible and it was just somuch fun I loved it so much so
it We'll

SPEAKER_00 (15:30):
do it again in 10 more years.

SPEAKER_02 (15:31):
It's the bougie life forever.
It was really...
really really cool though like

SPEAKER_00 (15:40):
oh no i admit it was a good view and according to
your internet people we didn'teven have the best room for it i
thought it was fine likeeverybody like we were on the
far side and so the conferencethe conference center was out
over of us i don't know whatpeople's problem is like i'm
only on the balcony to watch thefireworks

SPEAKER_02 (15:58):
i think like a lot of people like if you really
really want more of a directview which i still feel like
when i directly if i stood onthe balcony directly I could see
the castle out of the corner ofmy eye but I mainly faced like
Grand Floridian

SPEAKER_00 (16:12):
turn yourself but all I had to do was 45 degrees
very so slightly turn

SPEAKER_02 (16:17):
my body and then I got to see that so I think some
of the people like to be downclosures or they have that more
straight on shot I thought itwas fine I do agree with some of
the stuff I've read on becausewe did stay at contemporary for
our anniversary where we had awater view for in the day and
views in general the water viewis more picturesque because in
the daytime you get you do seelike the on the theme park view

(16:39):
side, but nighttime can't bebeat.
I liked seeing the bus bays, though, and the monorail and
everything.
I found all that really fun.
What about you?

SPEAKER_00 (16:48):
Yes.
I liked watching the buses goaround, the boats go by, those
mystery lights that would comeinto the water at night that I
couldn't figure out what theywere doing.
Were they boats?
Were they drones?
I have no idea because theyweren't there during the day.

SPEAKER_02 (17:02):
And from where we were on that end, too, because
of our positioning, we couldstill see the Electrical Water
Pageant.
If you're on the Waterview side, the Bay Lake side of
Contemporary, you can get, instead of the, you don't get
the fireworks, but you get theElectrical Water Pageant, which
is like an old school, I thinkit was like around when Disney
first opened.
It's definitely old school.

(17:31):
wilderness lodge so that sideyou get like a very direct view
but because from where we wereon that end we could see it when
it was going by like grandfloridian and polly right

SPEAKER_01 (17:41):
yes

SPEAKER_02 (17:43):
and we could we could hear the music so we could
still see that we even saw itout in the distance so i thought
our room was fine it was morethan fine it was wonderful
amazing excellent birthday tripthank you daniel

SPEAKER_00 (17:58):
you're very welcome like i said 10 more years And
you can do it again.

SPEAKER_02 (18:03):
We got free Uncrustables.

SPEAKER_00 (18:05):
Okay, I don't understand.
And I'm going to plant my flagand I'm going to have this
argument right here, right now.
What is the deal withUncrustables?
I don't get it.

SPEAKER_02 (18:15):
Okay, one, they are really good, but I think, and
they're really good cold.
A lot of people wait for them tothaw.
Okay, so, but it's...
when I say free, obviously youpaid to get into the park.
It's like one of those freesnacks at Epcot that you can get
only during the flower andgarden festival.
And I knew that people wentcrazy for it, but then we got to

(18:35):
witness it.
We were in line to get ourpicture taken with the Mickey
mini, uh, topiary and the ballin the background.
And I was like, I think this isthe area where they're going to
bring the incrustables outaround 11.
You would have thought thatthere was a rare character that
was coming out.

SPEAKER_00 (18:51):
Walt Disney himself, Resurrected was showing up.

SPEAKER_02 (18:55):
It was insane.
Like, you know how this, if youguys have ever been to Disney
World, they'll have the castmembers that'll hold like a
sign, like line starts here fora ride or something or a
character.
They had a sign for theUncrustables.
Now, it didn't move quickly, butI hear they sell out fast, so I
was able to snag us some.
You gave me a courtesy bite, butyou're not a peanut butter and

(19:15):
jelly person.

SPEAKER_00 (19:16):
That's correct.

SPEAKER_02 (19:17):
The raspberry ones were really good.
That's the first time I hadthem.
I think it's the whole thing ofit's something free.
It's free.

SPEAKER_00 (19:23):
But it's not, because you paid how much money
to be in the park that day.

SPEAKER_02 (19:27):
Yeah, but you pay how much money to be in the
park, and then you have to buyevery other snack.
That's one little scrap thatDisney can give you.

SPEAKER_00 (19:33):
Okay.
I just don't get Uncrustables.
I think, like, I

SPEAKER_02 (19:37):
don't

SPEAKER_00 (19:38):
get it.

SPEAKER_02 (19:40):
Okay.
I don't get it.
Okay, Ben Wyatt.

SPEAKER_00 (19:42):
They're not that good.

SPEAKER_02 (19:42):
They're amazing.
They're so good.
All right.
Oh, happy Easter to those whocelebrate, by the way.
I did get you to admit to methat the Reese's eggs are very
much different than thoseReese's carrots or regular
Reese's over the weekend, theEaster holiday weekend.

SPEAKER_00 (20:02):
You got it on recording?

SPEAKER_02 (20:04):
Admit it now.
I said I was going to bring itup on this very podcast.

SPEAKER_00 (20:07):
Different in that they're differently shaped,
sure, but they're still peanutbutter and

SPEAKER_02 (20:11):
chocolate.
He's like, there is morechocolate.
The ratio of the egg, the peanutbutter is always going to be

SPEAKER_00 (20:17):
more.
I believe I mostly commented, this was the first time I'd had
the carrots.
I mostly commented at theinteresting, familiar shape of
them and how you could veryeasily manipulate that.
Stop it.
We're not

SPEAKER_02 (20:30):
doing that on Easter.

SPEAKER_00 (20:31):
It's not Easter.
Easter's over.

SPEAKER_02 (20:33):
Easter...
We had a fun Easter.
We got some old school recordsfrom my dad.

SPEAKER_01 (20:40):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (20:40):
We have a Muppet album from the original Muppet
movie.
The case is basically fallingapart.
I was very skeptical if thatrecord was going to work at all.
And it worked.
It had that little snap, crackle, pop in the beginning.

SPEAKER_00 (20:52):
It's got that snap.
which I like and it's got thatsnap crackle and pop but there
were some bigger scratches onthat thing that I thought were
going to make it like skiparound but it did not but once

SPEAKER_02 (21:02):
the song started playing like the Rainbow
Connection like it played likeit started off with snap crackle
pop but then it was like perfectand I love that's the one thing
I'll say about listening to newvinyls I'm always like I need it
to I like the little fuzzyfeeling of records but we used
to listen to that all the timewhen we were kids let's see we
also walked away with I have tobring it back Jesus Christ
Superstar if you know you knowDad's like, I'm going to need

(21:25):
that one back.
Let's see.
We got Simon and Garfunkel,Bridge Over Troubled Water.
That's a pretty old schoolclassic.
Carpenters.
For some reason, Mom and Dad hadtwo copies of the same Elvis
vinyl, so we got one of those.

SPEAKER_00 (21:37):
Which I said, why are you bringing Elvis into this
house?

SPEAKER_02 (21:41):
You liked the Elvis movie.

SPEAKER_00 (21:43):
Light is a strong word for that.

SPEAKER_02 (21:46):
You just love to play the disgruntled character
on this podcast.

SPEAKER_00 (21:50):
I'm not playing a character.
I don't know what you're talking

SPEAKER_02 (21:52):
about.
What was the other one that wegot?
Three

SPEAKER_00 (21:54):
Dog Night.
And we have to bring that oneback too, apparently.

SPEAKER_02 (21:59):
See, I feel like this is where I'm like...
more like dad because he barelylistens.
He's like, I'm going to needthat back.
I think I'd be the same.
Whereas mom literally was like, you can have my Simon and
Garfunkel bridge over troubledwater.
That's a really iconic album.
And I'm like, I can have thisone.
Like, that's probably one of thelike most popular

SPEAKER_00 (22:16):
albums.
They have a lot of really goodshape too, by the

SPEAKER_02 (22:19):
way.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (22:20):
Probably of the ones we got bad.
God, it's probably the bestshit.
Dad kept

SPEAKER_02 (22:23):
trying to give me his Osmond records.
I was like, you mean like theguy that sings the Mulan song,
Donny Osmond, and that was onDancing with the Stars?
He's like, yeah.
I'm like, I'm good.
I don't need the Osmondbrothers.
But they had a lot of stuff.
And then Elizabeth, my sister,took

SPEAKER_00 (22:37):
Chicago.
Osmond brothers.
It's Donny and his sister.

SPEAKER_02 (22:41):
No.
The Osmond brothers had theirown band, and then Donny and
Marie did their own thing.
I think they tried to be likethe Jacksons.

SPEAKER_00 (22:48):
Learn something new every day.

SPEAKER_02 (22:50):
I used to think Johnny and Marie were like
husband and wife.
They are not.
I was like, brother and sister?
I just know him for his iconic, let's get down to business.

SPEAKER_00 (23:01):
With that said, we did actually watch some
television.
We did! Believe it or not.
Now, most of our marquee showshave gone, have ended, and we're
kind of approaching a bit of astretch here where I think Hope
is just, she's not going to beable to escape Star Wars Andor.
But we haven't watched that yet.

SPEAKER_02 (23:20):
Can I just credit everybody for tuning into that
White Lotus episode?
I feel like...
Our, it was White Lotus seasonsone and two.
Our sound quality was not nearlyas good back then.
I think we just done on ourphones.
Is that our second?
That was our second episode.

UNKNOWN (23:34):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (23:35):
And it was one of the ones that we've had most
listened to.
Well, y'all really turned outfor our White Lotus Season 3
finale recap.
So in just probably a couplemonths, the next month or so,
maybe next two months, we'llhave a super cutout for you on
that.
But thank you to everybody forshowing up and listening to us
yap and yammer and ramble aboutthe White Lotus.

(23:55):
That's pretty cool.

SPEAKER_00 (23:58):
Speaking of HBO shows, we are in the middle of
season four, the final season ofThe Righteous Gemstones.
I believe we've got two episodesto talk about.
The prelude episode that youalways get every season.
Interlude.
Interlude, I'm sorry.
Yeah, we already had theprelude.
Interlude episode that we haveevery season, and then the most
recent episode.

(24:18):
Yes.
I was a little disappointed inthe interlude episode because we
didn't get any young baby Billy.
I

SPEAKER_02 (24:24):
think it's because I think Walton Goggins, from
everything I've read, literallycame out of Thailand, off the
White Lotus set, and had merehours to start filming.
And I think some of the scenesthey're saying why the scenes
that are just focused on him isbecause he wasn't able to film
everything with the cast.

SPEAKER_00 (24:43):
I think the way they've cut his scenes together,
you can tell when he was on setand when he was not on set.

SPEAKER_02 (24:49):
Yeah.
Yeah.
I liked it, though.
I was fine without Baby Billybecause I think the actors,
especially the one that playsyoung Jesse, are phenomenal.
Those kid actors.
And they're the same kids thatthey've had since the beginning.
Yes.
He has Danny McBride's walkdown, the mannerisms.
Young Judy is great.
And I feel like we got tofinally see, because now that

(25:12):
Kelvin's aging a little bit, Ifinally felt like I could see
Adam Devine in the young Kelvincharacter.
Tell us

SPEAKER_00 (25:18):
about that.
Tell us your favorite part aboutthat episode with Kelvin.

SPEAKER_02 (25:22):
What is it?
Eight ways to love Hayden orsomething?
He's like, who needs more waysto love Hayden Christensen?
So he was in Judy's room.
Not only did I have that HaydenChristensen magazine cut out,
I'm pretty sure, on my wall.
I feel like if I haven't seenthat magazine, I need that
magazine.
If you all know, love me someHayden Christensen, Anakin

(25:43):
Apologist.
I'm very excited.
Next week on the podcast, we cantalk about Revenge of the Sith.
The 20th anniversary.
That was the best part.
That's the best Star Wars movie.
You will not take her from me.
No.
Yes.
The best.
It's the best.
Those kids, I think they knockit out of the park.

SPEAKER_00 (26:03):
The kids do a great job.
They do so good.
I agree with you.
This was maybe the interludethat they really got to shine
in.
Yeah.
Maybe more than any of the otherones in the past season.
What did he say?

SPEAKER_02 (26:14):
Jesse's like, you're soon to be bastard grandson.
I'm going to name him Stallone.
So you can see how Gideon gothis name.
They're like, you guys aregetting married soon.
We got more backstory on MissLori and Amy Lee's friendship.
We got to which I you clockedhim right away because he had

(26:34):
that wig on and the like eitherprobably not makeup it was the
voice for me younger you werelike that's I'm Mary Poppins
y'all from Guardians and I'mlike that's Michael Rooker are
you serious

SPEAKER_00 (26:45):
it was the voice for me absolutely as soon as I heard
his voice I knew that that waswho that was

SPEAKER_02 (26:49):
and the fact that his profession in the show is
like a gator handler at like oneof those little gator like water
park things that you see in likethe beach areas down probably in
South Carolina which I think iswhere the show is set is just
Jessica to me I thought that wasa good episode and I think
you're getting we definitelyknow now who robbed and stole

(27:10):
the Bible right the gold-platedBible that was Miss Lori's
ex-husband I'm not so sure Thathe's the one that's necessarily
chasing off entirely her currentboyfriend.
No, I'm not either.
And I don't think she's badeither.
I think it's all red herons.
I think it's the son.
I think it's the son.
I think it's Corey, a.k.a.
Stifler.
And you kind of saw he felt verytorn between his parents, young

(27:34):
Corey.
But he definitely protected hisdad and lied about where his dad
was.

UNKNOWN (27:39):
Correct.

SPEAKER_02 (27:39):
Because they like– basically the kids had left and
Calvin was home alone becauseAmber, Jesse, and Judy had gone
out to get like tacos orsomething.
So that's where like the wholerobbery that we saw like early
in the season, little Calvin–where he was having his
nightmare about it.
We had the fallout, whathappened afterwards.

(28:00):
And Corey, who I think wasquestioned by Lori about where
was your dad.
And he lied.
Yeah, he lied about it.
I mean, he probably wants toprotect his dad.
And that's who my money is on aswell.
In the most recent episode, Ithink you're right, Daniel.
Daniel predicted that Judy andDr.
Watson, the little monkey that'shelping BJ out, he's like,

(28:23):
Judy's going to fight thatmonkey.
I think you are spot on.
Why was BJ kissing the monkey somany times?
And the monkey, you can tell.
I think the monkey wants tofight Judy.
We haven't really had an extremeJudy crash out yet this season.

SPEAKER_00 (28:38):
No, we haven't.
And it's going to happen whenshe fights that monkey.
When she fights Dr.
Watson, that's going to be it.

SPEAKER_02 (28:44):
She's

SPEAKER_00 (28:45):
going to try and take her man.

SPEAKER_02 (28:46):
That Kelvin one, he did win the top, what is it?
Top crass following man.

SPEAKER_01 (28:52):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (28:53):
I do find that a little unrealistic because I
feel like the...
I do as well.
I feel like while, you know,his...
prism and everything is tryingto be more open and accepting I
just feel like the people thatwould take the time to watch
what they say you had to pay tovote to they're like fees will
be included so it's not likeDancing with the Stars where you
vote for free I just I justthink that more of the maybe I'm

(29:15):
generalizing I don't know whatdo you think do you think more
of the audience would be leaningtowards what the Simpkins guy
was saying that would watch thattype of programming or maybe
we're just

SPEAKER_00 (29:25):
underestimating I'm just so disconnected from
anything remotely close to thatkind of programming I couldn't
tell you but just from what Iknow and my interactions I can't
see when we were

SPEAKER_02 (29:35):
watching you were like there's no way he'd win in
real

SPEAKER_00 (29:37):
life but that's really nice and more importantly
than just the competition thiswas the first time that Calvin
said maybe to himself as well toeverybody else is that he said
I'm a gay man and I Keefe was soproud so from a character
development perspective it wasreally good to see and it was
good to see that you got thatpositive reaction from it from a

(30:00):
realism I mean I'm not I'm notwatching Righteous Gemstones for
realism anyways so I'm gonna letit slide but I do have trouble
seeing that that's what how thatworked I did

SPEAKER_02 (30:10):
love though how Jesse and Judy showed up for
Calvin in that moment andsupported him that was really
nice and that was kind ofmirrored with Gideon showing up
for Pontius the little the crazybrother and And then I love
every, they've made Gideon solike, because he's good at
everything except for preaching,apparently.
But to get to see Gideon be abaddie again with the

(30:32):
skateboarding and show off toPontius' little friends that
were kind of making fun of him, that was pretty cool.
I don't know where they're goingwith Pontius.
I think Pontius is the childthat Jesse deserves ultimately.
You can tell that maybe Jessewasn't as bad as Pontius can be,
but Jesse was a pill.
Let's call it what it is.
Jesse, Judy, and Kelvin, they'reall unhinged, spoiled kids,

(30:56):
spoiled teens, spoiled adults.
And I think he's the classic onethat just gives it right back to
you.
So I don't know where they'regoing with Ponch.
I don't know what they're goingto do.
They only have two episodesleft.
How are we going to have time toget everything done?
I just don't know.
Am I going to not get my KeithKelvin wedding?
Can I have a BJ and Judyspinoff?

(31:17):
I'm not ready to say goodbye.
Yeah.
Can I see teen-jus in the actualshow?
Teen-jus.
Is

SPEAKER_00 (31:26):
baby Billy going to die?
Because to me, that's like theyhave been hinting at some
problems there.
We straight up

SPEAKER_02 (31:33):
asked for cocaine.

SPEAKER_00 (31:34):
Yeah, all season.
Can I say

SPEAKER_02 (31:35):
that on the podcast?

SPEAKER_00 (31:36):
Why not?

SPEAKER_02 (31:37):
I don't know.
He's like, he goes up to talk tolike the board, which is, you
know.
Judy and Jesse, and he's like, Ineed 100 mil.
I don't know what he asked

SPEAKER_00 (31:49):
for.
He said he needed 2 mil and an 8ball.

SPEAKER_02 (31:51):
Yeah, and he's like, you guys are so selfish.
And then, there's something Ifeel like is going to happen
with Sola, too.

SPEAKER_00 (32:00):
I don't know.
They just bring in these randomcharacters.

SPEAKER_02 (32:03):
We paid a nan.
I don't know, but I'm lookingforward to more.

SPEAKER_00 (32:12):
Continuing with HBO Max or Max or HBO on Max.
I don't know how they'rephrasing this now.

SPEAKER_02 (32:18):
It's Max.

SPEAKER_00 (32:19):
It's Max.
I don't know how you get, like,you don't.
I

SPEAKER_02 (32:22):
feel like every week they change their logo.

SPEAKER_00 (32:24):
I don't know how you don't take advantage of the HBO
name.
Max.
In my opinion.
Like, I'm not a marketer.
Thank you, Max.
But I feel like you should justdrop the Max part and call it
HBO.
But whatever.
What do I know?

SPEAKER_02 (32:38):
Maybe be like, what is Ryan saying on The Office?
Woof.
That he tried.

SPEAKER_00 (32:43):
I finished the first three seasons of Hacks.

SPEAKER_02 (32:47):
And I got to rewatch it again in all its glory.

SPEAKER_00 (32:49):
And then we have also watched the first three
episodes of the new season fourthat are out.
I agree with you.
It's a very good show.
It's an

SPEAKER_02 (32:56):
excellent show.
You had seen a little bit, bitsand pieces, some episodes with
me.
And I feel like you thought itwas funny.
But now that you've watched itall together and you have that
connection with the characters, did those episodes feel
differently to you?
Now that you know Debra, youknow Ava, you know Marcus...
Like, did that come off?

SPEAKER_00 (33:14):
Yeah, absolutely.
Like, you know, always missingthose character development
moments.
It doesn't give you the fullscope of the characters.
Yeah.
I am going to be frustrated, speaking of the season we have
now.
Yes.
And the knowledge of we are atleast getting a fifth season.

SPEAKER_02 (33:29):
Remember, guys, we are Spoiler Podcast.
We didn't say that earlier, sooopsie.

SPEAKER_00 (33:33):
that I'm going to be frustrated.
I think we've talked about this.
If season five is the same kindof format that season two and
season four are looking to be,which is in conflict with those
two, with, with the two maincharacters, Ava and, and Debra
Vance, because this is seasonfour so far has been mostly a
like season two conflict on likeramped up to a thousand.

(33:58):
So the

SPEAKER_02 (33:58):
season two conflict was that Ava had sent out those
emails about Debra.
Then even though She took itback because she was very upset
and angry about it.
their fight in season one.
So Debra said she was going tosue her.
So there was a little bit oftension.
Then Debra came around, butshe'd still make the jokes like,
yeah, well, I'm going to takeyou for everything you own.
Obviously, you know, she didn'tsue her at the end.

(34:18):
This one was a little bitdifferent because the way season
three ended was Debra basicallysaid she gets the gig to be the
late night host.
And she told Ava, like, you'regoing to be the head writer.
And then, of course, Debra, asusual, got paranoid.
Like, what if they take thisaway from me again?
I don't want to have it.
Gets in her head.
And then screws in.
Yeah.
Yeah.

(35:00):
Debra did wrong, but what Ava'sdoing is not right.
So this is a much more elevatedconflict, but I agree with what
you're saying.
I can't take every season of wehave the tension, we have the
conflict, we get over it, wehave growth, and then we fight
again.
There needs to be some balance.
Those two...
are always going to, I feellike, be at odds in some way
because they're so alike.

(35:21):
Yes.
They do butt heads.
And that's part of the charm ofthose characters is that you can
tell that they are veryemotionally connected to each
other.
And the people, and I'm notsaying they're not romantic.
I think, well, that ship is finein theory.
I don't think it's going tohappen.
I, but what I mean by like soemotionally connected with their
souls is that they are so muchalike.
They share such that bond andconnection, but they can hurt

(35:42):
each other more than anybodyelse.
And I think you're seeing thatplay out.
And I really hope that they'regoing to cool it.
And I feel like they are like, now they know in catching up in
season four, that basically theywere told like, Hey, this is our
last ditch effort.
Or we might have to pull latenight altogether.
Cause I mean, I don't knowabout, I don't know any of my
friends that watch.
I think one, I think Kaylindoes.
I think she is a devoted towatching Seth.

(36:04):
She might be the, only want toknow and I don't know if she
watches it every night now thatshe's got the children the
kiddos or if she DVRs it or whatbut most people I know they only
watch it when they see like aclip on YouTube like do you know
anybody personally like underthe age of like 45 that watches
late night

SPEAKER_01 (36:21):
No.

SPEAKER_02 (36:21):
I don't know anybody who watches SNL either.
I'll see stuff on my TikTok, andI'll be like, oh, that's funny,
this skit.

SPEAKER_00 (36:27):
If you're out there, let us know.
Let us

SPEAKER_02 (36:29):
know.
Do you watch this?
Let me know your age, yourdemographic.
They have that.
They've got to put theirpersonal crap aside, and they
have to see what they can do to

SPEAKER_00 (36:37):
save the show.
Now that we're several episodesinto season four, I can tell you
the trajectory of this season,though.
This season ends with that firstepisode.

SPEAKER_02 (36:44):
I think so, too.

SPEAKER_00 (36:45):
And then, so season five is going to be maybe a time
jump, and we're going to seewhat's going on extended from
here.
This season is going to be justthe run-up to the final episode.
If I were a writer of the show, and I'm thinking about it
myself, if I were going to getreal artsy and stupid with it,
the last episode of this seasonwould just be awesome.

(37:07):
the show that goes on TV.
Nothing else.
Like just what we, what we as,as actual viewers of late night
would see.
Yeah.
from that perspective.
I don't know that they'll dothat, but that'd be really cool.
I don't know if

SPEAKER_02 (37:19):
they'll do that because I'm pretty sure I saw
some clips of Rosie O'Donnellfilming as herself, as a guest.
I think I read something aboutthat, so maybe she'll be in the
last episode, I don't know, where Debra interviews Rosie.
I'm pretty sure I read that.
Maybe somebody, sometimes peopleare wrong on Reddit, but I'm
pretty sure I read that.
I think, though, that if theplan really is to get five

(37:40):
seasons, I think that Debra andAva aren't going to continue to
argue as fiercely, but I'm notsure we're going to have the
conflict.
I don't think they're going tobe as close as they were in
season three.
Personally, I think you're, Ithink they're going to have to,
you know, I think that we'llstill have, I think we'll still
have fun.
Debra Eva moments.
Yeah.
Like, like where they're at the,uh, the spa where she got like

(38:01):
her facelift or whatever.
I think we'll have some stufflike that, but I'm not sure.
One of the things that I like somuch about season three was how
close they got.
Like they're at the hikingepisode.
Right.
I told you that was my favoriteepisode of season three.
I'm not sure we're going to getthat yet in this season.
If they're planning for a fiveand then maybe we'll mend the
relationship but maybe we won't

SPEAKER_00 (38:19):
I don't know because I'll tell you right now I still
think that what Debra said likeright now they're coming the arc
is they're coming back togetherbecause they've realized they
have to they've had the talkingto from the network head now
that HR person has to be in theroom with them like they've had
their talking to and they'regoing to come together but at
the beginning of this season atthe end of episode one when they

(38:39):
were at the photo shoot Debrasaid I'm never going to forgive
you for this and we might go onfor years and years and years
but the moment

SPEAKER_02 (38:49):
she didn't forgive

SPEAKER_00 (38:50):
her sister yeah but the moment this ride she said
the moment this ride is over weare done and I will never speak
to you again I hope

SPEAKER_02 (38:57):
that doesn't happen

SPEAKER_00 (38:58):
I'm not going to say that's going to happen but I
think that is going to besomething that we see come out
at the end of this season and Iwouldn't be surprised if we get
if we see some shades of that inseason 5

SPEAKER_02 (39:11):
because it broke my heart when Midge and Susie
weren't speaking to each otherfor a little bit Because Midge
blames Susie and Maisel.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Sorry, jumping ahead to anothercomedy show set in another
decade.
Midge, like, blames Susie forJoel going to jail, right?
Yes.
Yeah, because he kind of fell onthe sword.
But then they eventually did,you know, become friends again

(39:32):
in the end, which was nice.
Because I felt like while, obviously, I did like, sorry,
sorry, I like Midge and LennyBruce.
The actors had chemistry off thecharts.
I don't care if it washistorically or

SPEAKER_01 (39:40):
inaccurately.

SPEAKER_02 (39:42):
No, what I'm saying, though, is the love story of
that show was Midge and Susie.

SPEAKER_01 (39:46):
Yeah, I agree.
I agree.

SPEAKER_02 (39:47):
Ultimately.
And I think the love story ofthis is, even if it's not
romantic, is Ava and Debra.
But that scene that you'rereferencing, can we just talk
about how beautifully acted thatwas?
That was a great scene.
I feel like Hannah, she is thewriter that plays Ava.
And she's a writer, I believe, also for this show and in real
life.
Her acting skills, I feel likeshe's always been a good actor.

(40:07):
They have improved her faceacting, just her eyes and that
smile when they were doing thatmagazine shoot.
I feel like this might be, weneed to get her and emmy like
she it was so like i was soimpressed by how both of them
did that scene but especiallyher like it was so good now you
like shooter mcgavin and deborahright Marty.

SPEAKER_00 (40:27):
If I saw a realistic ship for Debra, it's with him.

SPEAKER_02 (40:31):
I'm just not sure that Debra's meant to be.

SPEAKER_00 (40:34):
No, I don't know that that's the show, but
certainly of all the malecharacters in her life, he's the
one that sees her most for whoshe really is because they had
that golf episode.

SPEAKER_02 (40:44):
Oh yeah, from

SPEAKER_00 (40:44):
season three.
Where she was like trying toshow off for the big network
owner, the conglomerate owner, whatever that guy is, but she
was like playing like she didn'tknow how to golf.
And he was like, what are youdoing?
Because he knows she's betterthan that

SPEAKER_02 (40:56):
you know she's a ball buster yeah

SPEAKER_00 (40:58):
yeah so he knew that that just was not her and so i
like i said i this show is notabout the show

SPEAKER_02 (41:04):
please watch hacks even me even us giving us you
spoilers right now it's one ofthose shows that you don't
really you need to watch youneed to watch the dynamic
between the two because youwould like daniel had a coming
back and forth and knew a littlebit and now that you have the
whole like you care about itmore you're more invested in
these characters now obviouslyseverance is still your best
thing going and i think while ilove severance and thought that

(41:26):
was one of the best seasonfinales I've ever seen.
Ultimately, where we differ isI'm always going to cling to a
little bit more funny, eventhough severance can be funny
too.
That's why Hacks is definitelyin my– well, I have to see how
the season plays out, but it'sin my conversation for Best
Thing Going.
While you might not agree withme, can you see why I would
think that?

SPEAKER_00 (41:47):
If we compiled a list of shows– that we would say
these are the ones that are inthe running for the best thing
going, and you put hacks on thelist, I have zero argument
against you on why you would addthat at least to a short list,
for sure.
All right.
No

SPEAKER_02 (42:02):
question.
I'm looking forward to morehacks.
Let's see here.
Oh, I finished a show.
unbeknownst to myself, I waslike, well, this feels like a
season finale.
Because it was.
I guess I'm unaware of what timeof year it is.
This is when shows normallystart to wrap up, April, May.
I think most shows wrap up inMay, though.
But Abbott Elementary got caughtup with that.
That's a show you pop in and outof.

(42:23):
You don't dislike it, but youdon't love it.

SPEAKER_01 (42:25):
Correct.

SPEAKER_02 (42:26):
And I thought the season finale was really good.
Ava, spoiler alert, she is backas principal at Abbott.

SPEAKER_00 (42:32):
Will they resolve that fast?

SPEAKER_02 (42:34):
I think they're going to have...
Well, the kids...

SPEAKER_00 (42:36):
Because I watched the episode where she lost her
job, and that's only been whattwo or three episodes yeah

SPEAKER_02 (42:40):
she fell on the sword it was more than that like
you missed some she fell on thesword for the teachers because
they were all taking bribes andbasically the teachers like
we're gonna go to the board thenadmit that we did it too and
maybe we can get your job backbecause they won't have enough
room for subs and then theyfound out they were gonna get
suspended and the kids likestood up for Ava and then I
don't really if I'm be honest itwas right when we got back from

(43:00):
our trip so I think I faded inand out one of the episodes but
she gets her job back they andthat was that's really nice but
I think our conflict for thenext season is going to be,
because Gregory got to be, healways wanted to be a principal,
remember?
Yeah.
You remember that about hischaracter?
Yes, I remember that.
He got to be the interimprincipal while she was gone,
and you could tell that likereignited his passion.

(43:21):
So I think that might be likehis, maybe not conflict, but his
journey.
Like, is he going to try to seekemployment elsewhere?
Sure.
He and Janine ended on a finenote.
She met his dad.
He was a little weirded outbecause his dad was like goofing
around and showing Janine alike, like laughing not when I
say affection I don't mean likecreepy and he's like this this
he saw like a side of his dad hedidn't see and his dad's like

(43:44):
you know what she or Janinereminds me a lot of your mom
because his mom had passed awaywhen he was much younger and
he's like we need people likethat to balance out like serious
guys like us I thought that wasvery touching that was a very
nice moment and then the eighthbecause the way Abbott
Elementary works is they're likeK through eight which I guess
some schools are like that solike the eighth graders were

(44:04):
graduating so they did theywrote a play where the teachers
like like i think um i don'tknow who played mrs howard like
they played each other okay andhow did you yeah like basically
almost like a roast but like ina nice way and it was there it
was just really nice to see likethem thank their student or
their teachers and say they lovethem and i'm like this man this

(44:25):
feels like a you're having theeighth grade graduate not a
graduation episode but they'releaving i'm like this really
feels like a season finale likethey get in the season here
Because they did.
I

SPEAKER_00 (44:34):
remember you finished watching it and you
were like, this feels like aseason finale.
Will you check and see?
And I grabbed the remote andlooked.
I was like, yeah, there's nonemore on the thing.
And that's it.

SPEAKER_02 (44:46):
And then we are ghosts.
We are caught up on ghosts.

SPEAKER_00 (44:50):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (44:51):
I feel like we did talk about ghosts a little bit
in a previous podcast.
We did.
Our most recent episode, wefound out that Trevor has a
daughter.

SPEAKER_00 (44:59):
Saw that coming as soon as the episode started.
Yeah,

SPEAKER_02 (45:02):
his old friend Pincus, the reason why he
doesn't have pants as a ghost,if you watch ghosts on CBS or
the worst app ever, Paramount+.
Can we say that?
The worst app ever?

SPEAKER_00 (45:11):
Come for us.
Hey, if Paramount and CBS wantsto sue us for saying it's the
worst app ever, that means in acourt of law they will have to
prove it's not.

SPEAKER_02 (45:23):
oh gosh there's probably some really bad ups
don't say that don't sue usplease anyway his buddy comes on
and I was like this actress theycast looks a lot like Trevor I
thought that was really but shekept referencing the cutting
edge that's his favorite movieor he kept referencing that I
thought that was good ghost isjust one of those shows like I
watch it and I don't have like aton to say about it but I enjoy
it every time I watch it I agreewith you about flower

SPEAKER_00 (45:45):
I want to get it on the record once more just to
make sure that everybody isclear for the two people that
actually watch this show

SPEAKER_02 (45:50):
that

SPEAKER_00 (45:53):
that something's weird with Flower, and it might
just be inconsistent writing.
But if it isn't, my theory isthat the ghost power of the
pilgrim girl who we saw atPatience from earlier in this
season is to look like anotherghost, and she has the real
Flower trapped somewhere.

SPEAKER_02 (46:14):
Would she be so free-willing love, though, with
her beliefs?

SPEAKER_00 (46:17):
If she's trying to get revenge.

SPEAKER_02 (46:19):
Yeah, I don't know.
Yes, I agree.
I think that's like where theseason where we thought Jay was
going to become a ghost becausehe was eating all the fast food
and we're like, are they goingto like give him a heart attack
or

SPEAKER_00 (46:28):
something?
I think we probably...
I think we went way too dark.
We probably marked...
We went too severance.
Yeah, we probably marked this upto inconsistent writing.
Which,

SPEAKER_02 (46:37):
yes, I agree.
So speaking of inconsistentwriting...
I have an announcement.
The preview was finally droppedand we have a date.
And just like that, season threewill drop on May 29th, 2025.
Also on Max.
Will I watch it?
Yes.
Will I complain?
You bet.
I am already triggered by ascene that I saw because they

(46:59):
film in New York City andsomebody caught in the street of
like Aiden once again yelling atCarrie on the street.
I'm like, get rid of this guy.
Are

SPEAKER_00 (47:09):
we having a five-year gap?

SPEAKER_02 (47:11):
I'm just going to say no.
Obviously not.
Obviously not.
I'm just going to say this.
Everybody always stands Aiden.
I went back and even did a Sexand the City rewatch.
Sure, he was a nice guy, but hewants you to know it, that he's
a nice guy.
And yeah, was Carrie right incheating on him?
Absolutely not.
And he never let her forget iteither.
But even before, he was wantingto change her before she even

(47:34):
cheated on him.
Like, he just, red flag, redflag, red flag.
So you'll never catch me asbeing like, Aiden was such a
nice guy, blah, blah, blah.
It drives me crazy how Sex andthe City fans act like he's some
special man sent down from Jesushimself to make everybody like,
no.
And I feel like you were kind ofdisagreeing with me at first.

(47:57):
Aiden annoys you now too, right?

SPEAKER_00 (48:00):
Correct.
The real question for thisseason is, however, will we once
again be blessed with an Aidenand his tighty-whities scene?

SPEAKER_02 (48:08):
Probably.
I don't know.
I feel like that was alwayssustained on the OG and the
original.
I don't know.

SPEAKER_00 (48:12):
They had him in it last season.

SPEAKER_02 (48:14):
John Corbett is a very

SPEAKER_00 (48:15):
attractive...
Why do I remember this stuff?
Why is it stuck in my head?
I don't know!

SPEAKER_02 (48:18):
Because I try to block it out.
I feel like John Corbett's avery attractive man, but the way
they style him for Aiden on theshow is just...
You

SPEAKER_00 (48:30):
got nothing on him.
Except his personality.

SPEAKER_02 (48:33):
Anyway, I'll see you on May 29th and just like that
because you know your girl'sgoing to be watching it.
We got a Wednesday trailer todayfor season two.
Did you watch it

SPEAKER_01 (48:44):
yet?

SPEAKER_02 (48:45):
Well, we got that coming.
That's going to be in two parts,August and September.

SPEAKER_00 (48:48):
Why

SPEAKER_02 (48:49):
they won't give it to us in October, I'll never
know.
Are you booing Wednesday or thetwo parts?

SPEAKER_00 (48:53):
Two parts.

SPEAKER_02 (48:53):
Yeah,

SPEAKER_00 (48:54):
that's terrible.
And also not giving it to us inOctober.
What?

SPEAKER_02 (48:56):
Still, still no date on Strange New Worlds.

SPEAKER_00 (48:59):
I'm getting stressed out.
I'm stressed out about this.
I'm stressed out.
We've heard

SPEAKER_02 (49:03):
rumors of August, but I'm like, people are making
announcements.
It's

SPEAKER_00 (49:07):
really, like, honestly close enough to August
that if you're going to put iton in August, you probably
should go ahead and say that.

SPEAKER_02 (49:13):
Well, yeah.
I mean, just like they saidWednesday on Netflix.

SPEAKER_00 (49:16):
So I don't know.

SPEAKER_02 (49:16):
We still haven't watched Suits LA yet, y'all.
This isn't looking good for it.
We will eventually.
We just haven't.

SPEAKER_00 (49:23):
All right.

SPEAKER_02 (49:24):
We've been watching Everybody Loves Raymond instead.

SPEAKER_00 (49:26):
We talked about it briefly before in a few minutes
ago, but let's go.
What are we doing Friday orSaturday?

SPEAKER_02 (49:34):
Whatever day permits.
We are seeing Revenge of theSith.

SPEAKER_00 (49:39):
That is Star Wars Episode 3, Revenge of the Sith.
It's my favorite.
The second best Star Wars

SPEAKER_02 (49:43):
movie.
It's the best Star Wars movie.
My favorite Star Wars movie.

SPEAKER_00 (49:47):
Actually, the third best Star Wars movie.
I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_02 (49:50):
It is the best.
Number one Star Wars movie.
The best ever.
My first Star Wars movie I eversaw in theaters.
This is back 20 years ago.
on release dates you couldn'tjust you know now you can just
go at like thursday at like 6p.m they made you wait till
midnight We saw it at midnight.
We actually saw it with mysister, my brother-in-law, some

(50:12):
friends of theirs.
I think my brother was theretoo.
Y'all, I got on the news.
I got interviewed for thenewspaper.
Now, back then, I would correctmy choice.
Well, I hadn't seen this movieyet, but I was quoted in the
paper as saying that Return ofthe Jedi was my favorite Star
Wars movie because I think I waslike, because Darth Vader like
becomes even a simp then forAnakin.
Like, I think now of the OGs,like I do have to admit, Empire

(50:36):
is probably collectively better.
better.
That would be my second favoriteStar Wars movie.
I see where you guys are comingfrom.
But I do really like howeverything comes full circle at
the end and Vader hasredemption.

SPEAKER_00 (50:46):
You know, now that I think about it a lot, Revenge of
the Sith is my fourth best StarWars movie.

SPEAKER_02 (50:55):
What's your...
So you go Empire...
Then tell me, you go Empire,Return of the Jedi, A New Hope,
or you go...
Or do you like whiny Luke in ANew Hope?

SPEAKER_00 (51:09):
Empire.
Probably still Jedi.
New Hope.

SPEAKER_02 (51:15):
Jedi has the Leia look you have in it, right?
No, that's Empire.

SPEAKER_00 (51:19):
That's Empire.
Man, that's Empire.
Come on.
The hottest that Princess Leiaever was.

SPEAKER_02 (51:25):
Even over the bikini.

SPEAKER_00 (51:26):
Ever was.
Was in that first opening scenesof Empire Strikes Back when
she's in that white outfit.

SPEAKER_02 (51:32):
But that's also where we get the kiss with her
and Han.
Love it.
Okay, so you go Empire, Returnof the Jedi, and New Hope.
So what is your fourth?

SPEAKER_00 (51:40):
Revenge of the Sith.
Revenge of the Sith.
I said fourth.
If

SPEAKER_02 (51:45):
you're one of those, Daniel, if you want to cling

SPEAKER_00 (51:47):
to the...
It's fighting out barely withThe Last Jedi.

SPEAKER_02 (51:50):
And

SPEAKER_00 (51:51):
now I know I've said something really controversial.

SPEAKER_02 (51:55):
You want to be one of those old-in-time Star Wars
fans that's always going to rankthe OGs above.
I go...
Because they're better movies.
Revenge of the Sith is numberone.
Empire is number two.
And then I start to get fuzzybecause I'll admit I'm a prequel
gal.
I think they have a beginning, middle, and an end.
I think they're more fleshedout.
I like them.
I don't mind.
I like the midichlorians orwhatever the heck they're

(52:17):
called.
I don't care.
And

SPEAKER_00 (52:18):
I just love Anakin.
Nobody likes those.
You're incorrect.
Nobody likes the midichlorians.
I used

SPEAKER_02 (52:23):
to like Jar Jar until I went back and rewatched
and was like, okay, he is.
But I think it's because I wasyounger when I watched it.
I think it's like Barney's EwokTheory from that terrible show,
Himes.
met your mother like do you likelike the Ewoks

SPEAKER_00 (52:34):
100% there are people older people that when
they saw that movie hated theEwoks younger kids like us loved
them and that's just how thatstands

SPEAKER_02 (52:41):
but I still like I like the actor that plays Jar
Jar I think people are extremelycruel to him so Jar Jar's fine
it's it almost seems it's almostlike shocking like how much less
they gave him to do I feel likethe Phantom Menace is like great
like Battle of the what is itcalled like Duel of the Fates

SPEAKER_00 (52:59):
Duel of the Fates

SPEAKER_02 (53:01):
amazing like that whole entire like sequence it's
like the prequels are great ilove the prequels i will always
stand by and fight for theprequels i remember when i first
started watching the star warsmovies on that tragically small
tv in my college dorm i turnedto daniel and i was like i
hadn't seen revenge of the sithyet either and i was like i like
these ones better and you werelike If you could have just

(53:22):
smacked a woman, you were like, what?

SPEAKER_01 (53:24):
God.

SPEAKER_02 (53:25):
You were like, but now you come around.
You like their prequels a lot.
But I think it was very coolback then to hate on the
prequels.
Yes.
It was very cool.
And I'm sure there's going to bepeople that are going to stay in
the sequel someday, like younger

SPEAKER_00 (53:39):
guys.
I mean- It was cool to hate StarWars in general when the
prequels were coming out.
Before the prequels were comingout, it was cool just to hate
Star Wars as some nerdy, geeky, dorky thing that people liked.
But yes, within the Star Warscommunity...
Which I have been excommunicatedfrom for quite a long time.

(54:01):
I'm still in it.
It was cool to hate the prequelsafter

SPEAKER_02 (54:04):
Phantom Menace.
But now we've had theseconversations and you're like, I
can totally see why.
You've said this.
You've admitted this.
You're like, why you liked theprequels better.
I get it.
I enjoyed them more.
The pacing was better.
It was more enjoyable.
I still love Luke, Leia, Han,Chewie.
I love everything about them.
But I think looking back at thelore that I've gotten into, I

(54:25):
can tell that George Lucas madesome crap.
I like how we're hijacking thisinto a Star Wars podcast.

(54:54):
I like The Last Jedi too, but itdoesn't fit.
It does not fit

SPEAKER_00 (54:57):
with the other two.
It lifts right out.
But I see my problem.
It doesn't try.
I agree with you that it doesnot fit within that trilogy
because none of the movies fitwithin that trilogy.
And so I'm taking the absurdistapproach to it.
If you can't classify any ofthem, then I'm just going to
pick the one that I think is thebest coherent movie and say

(55:18):
that's my favorite one andthat's the best one.
And it's like, I'm sorry, Ican't help you that...
Disney and Lucasfilm are cowardswho just take everything
negative that people said aboutThe Last Jedi and say, well,
we're not going to do any moreof that stuff in Rise of
Skywalker because they'recowards.

SPEAKER_02 (55:36):
I think they're afraid to make certain
characters in a negative light.
Leia and Padme both had majorflaws.
Major flaws.
Rey was perfect.
No flaws.
Correct.
And I love Rey, but one of thereasons why I resonate so much
with Leia and Padme is becauseof how deeply flawed both of

(55:58):
them were.
And I love I always I get reallyirritated when people call Padme
weak.
It makes me so mad.
She's not the same way that Leiais.
I always found that Padme andLuke are more alike in their
approach.
And Leia has her father's temperlike like Leia and Anakin are
more alike.
Fight me.
I will fight every single one ofyou.

(56:18):
And I feel like Luke and I thinkone of the because Luke is so
much like Padme.
I think that's another way ishow he was able to reach Vader.

SPEAKER_00 (56:27):
I mean, they all called that out in the end of
the Obi-Wan Kenobi

SPEAKER_02 (56:30):
show.
And I felt so

SPEAKER_00 (56:32):
seen.
Obi-Wan Kenobi show.

SPEAKER_02 (56:34):
I felt so seen.
But we're going to get moreAnakin and Ahsoka, too.
That was announced.
I'm very excited.

SPEAKER_00 (56:39):
The rumor is.
I love that

SPEAKER_02 (56:40):
everybody's finally on board.
Hayden Christensen went throughsome crap because y'all treated
him terribly.
And now everyone loves my babyAnakin.

SPEAKER_00 (56:47):
You've seen the rumors who else is going to be
in Ahsoka season two, right?

SPEAKER_02 (56:50):
No,

SPEAKER_00 (56:51):
who?
Natalie Portman.

SPEAKER_02 (56:53):
I don't.
That's not confirmed, though.

SPEAKER_00 (56:55):
It's not confirmed.
No.

SPEAKER_02 (56:57):
I could see them maybe like a, like a flashback,
like a memory sequence becausethey've already confirmed that
Padme cannot like return as aforce ghost because she was not
a Jedi.
That's correct.
So I would love to see Padmecome back.
I love, I think Padme andAnakin, like I obviously Han and
Leia are like the fun lovestory.
Like they did for the most part, minus their, you know, even as

(57:17):
child, I'd say they worked out.
They still love each other forall their flaws.

UNKNOWN (57:22):
Um,

SPEAKER_02 (57:22):
But I think Anakin and Padme have, like, the most
tragic love story, but also oneof the most beautiful love
stories.
Because at the end of the day,y'all, Star Wars is one big
giant love story.
All this could have beenavoided.
He tried to do everything toprotect the love of his life,
and it just blew up in his face.

(57:42):
And I can't wait to gaslightmyself again into thinking that
Anakin is not going to turn...
I'm so excited to watch Revengeof the Sith.
I think it's so special to mebecause you never forget your
first Star Wars.

SPEAKER_00 (57:55):
Dear listeners, thank you so much for turning
into this episode.
I am sorry that we had to talkabout Star Wars for the last 10
minutes.
I apologize.

SPEAKER_02 (58:03):
It's your fault.

SPEAKER_00 (58:05):
We'll see you next week.
It's

SPEAKER_02 (58:06):
your fault.
Only a Sith would deal withabsolutes.
