City, am I right?
SPEAKER_00 (00:23):
Such a good callback
to a thing we're going to talk
about in just a little bit.
SPEAKER_01 (00:27):
Trish the Dish.
SPEAKER_00 (00:41):
Hey, everybody, and
welcome to We Watch TV.
It is the podcast about the TVthat we watch.
I am Daniel.
She is Hope.
This is episode 108.
Boy, am I glad we rehearsedbefore we got into this.
SPEAKER_01 (00:52):
Door City, am I
right?
Trish the Dish.
SPEAKER_00 (00:58):
Oh, that
introduction was literally a
joke for two people, and theyhappen to be the two hosts of
this podcast.
SPEAKER_01 (01:04):
If you know, you
know.
But the other of you, maybe oneof you, I don't know, who might
happen to watch Nathan Field TheRehearsal on Max.
We hope you at least enjoyed it.
And if you haven't watched that, watch it and we're going to tell
you why
SPEAKER_00 (01:18):
shortly.
Genuinely, we're going to talkabout The Rehearsal Season 1 and
2 here.
If you haven't seen it, thefirst part of our section is
going to be try to explain whatit is.
If it at all interests you, youshould stop the podcast and go
watch it and then come back.
Because genuinely speaking, whenthis show when if this show gets
(01:42):
green lit for a season three itwill be the best thing going
best thing going which i knowfor some of you is the kiss of
death you don't want to listento it but if you if you respect
our television at all or ourtelevision thoughts at all the
rehearsal is one of the funniestthings i think i have seen i
feel like it's in decades it isan acquired humor
SPEAKER_01 (02:03):
So do we just want
to get on right and talk about
it?
I wanted to complain about howhot it was.
SPEAKER_00 (02:07):
Go ahead.
It is unbearably hot.
It is
SPEAKER_01 (02:09):
horribly hot.
It's like a thousand degrees.
I feel like in the winter wewere like, okay, too much
winter.
But that's because it wasconstantly ice and snow.
But I would rather it be like 40degrees outside than this feels
like in the hundreds.
SPEAKER_00 (02:23):
Heat dome 2025.
Yeah.
It's like an armpit outside.
It's
SPEAKER_01 (02:29):
not the best.
SPEAKER_00 (02:31):
Running outside was
uncomfortable.
SPEAKER_01 (02:32):
We made a really
good choice to run in the heat
of the day.
SPEAKER_00 (02:36):
Being in the house
at some points has been
uncomfortable.
SPEAKER_01 (02:40):
Or is it slow?
Existing.
Useless.
Generally.
I know.
Man
SPEAKER_00 (02:46):
child.
Has been uncomfortable.
SPEAKER_01 (02:51):
Don't you like that
song?
That's the song of the summer.
SPEAKER_00 (02:53):
I liked it, but as
with all songs of the summer, I
like it the first time I hear itand then the 20,000th time I
hear it.
It starts to wear on you alittle bit.
SPEAKER_01 (03:03):
What about a song
from years ago that I've been
singing as well?
Oh, God.
You've done that thing you do.
SPEAKER_00 (03:14):
Guess what movie
Hope watched over the weekend?
What 20, 30-year-old movie atthis point?
SPEAKER_01 (03:20):
I think it came out
in the 90s.
Yeah,
SPEAKER_00 (03:22):
that's right.
I would put it closer to the 30sthan the 20s.
SPEAKER_01 (03:26):
Breaking my heart
into a million pieces.
It's a great song.
This is why we should have justrehearsed what we're actually
going to say.
SPEAKER_00 (03:40):
We rehearse the
thing we do all the time, but
it's the two minutes after weget done with the intro that we
have no idea what we're going totalk about.
SPEAKER_01 (03:47):
Well, let's go ahead
and stop complaining about the
heat and just get into it.
The rehearsal seasons one andtwo on Max with comedian Nathan
Fielder.
And I feel like while we dothink this could be a contender
for the best thing going, ifsomehow he gets a season three
and I don't know how he's goingto top season two, I just want
to say that this is humor thatmight not be for everybody but
(04:07):
it's right up our alley
SPEAKER_00 (04:09):
and we don't mean
that in like an elitist kind of
way we mean that in like somepeople are just gonna yeah it's
a little weird some people aregonna find it funny and some
people are gonna go what in theworld am I looking at here
SPEAKER_01 (04:22):
well I feel like
this show itself is basically
it's not a full-blown realityshow like he definitely he
orchestrates the bits you couldsay he rehearses them and he
does get real people toparticipate in this and real
actors and there are somecallbacks to his show that we
have started watching we havenot finished um Nathan for you
(04:43):
which I think that was wellthere were real people involved
that was a little bit more of aa bit than this so to speak I
just I really think you have toknow his comedy all right and
they do make some callbacks tothat which I have noticed since
we're not watching them in order
SPEAKER_00 (04:57):
yeah so I'm gonna
take a stab Before we go to
spoiler territory.
SPEAKER_01 (05:01):
Stab city.
Am I right?
Should we take our shoes off?
Should we take our shirts offnext?
SPEAKER_00 (05:07):
Okay.
I'm going to take a stab at.
The chair.
pitching this show to people, and then we will give a spoiler
warning.
Are you thinking about thechair, though?
I can't stop thinking about theshow, to be honest with you.
(05:27):
So no spoilers up right now.
I'm going to give a slightpitch, then we'll tell you when
spoilers...
You should rehearse
SPEAKER_01 (05:32):
that, your pitch.
SPEAKER_00 (05:36):
Okay.
The rehearsal.
Season one, Nathan Fielder is acomedian.
He's going around and basicallyhe is, he always rehearses
interactions in his life, butespecially big ones before he
goes into them.
So there are no surprises,
SPEAKER_01 (05:51):
which I thought was
a normal thing to do.
SPEAKER_00 (05:53):
And so the bit of
the show when it starts is that
he is approaching random people.
Yes.
who are coming up on major lifeevents and they're struggling to
or even procrastinating on thoseevents because they are nervous
about hurting someone's feelingsor the outcome, whatever it may
(06:14):
be.
And so Nathan devises anelaborate, elaborate, elaborate
method in which to help peoplethem rehearse for this life
event.
SPEAKER_01 (06:27):
And when I say I
thought everybody rehearsed
stuff, I don't mean quite thislevel, but I'm sitting there
watching that.
I'm like, wait a minute.
Am I weird?
I can't tell you how many timesI've written down at least my
talking points.
I hate talking on the phone.
I'm a classic millennial.
I can't stand it, especially ifit's an important call.
I will write down, becausethere's a point where he's
(06:47):
talking about why he doesrehearsals.
He's like, I always write downmy conversation before it
happens and then possibleoutcomes to each, and I'm
sitting there like, why is thatweird?
And Daniel's looking at me like, what?
I don't think I'd ever told youbefore that I do that.
Not with normal people, but animportant conversation.
And then I always have, justlike he does in the show, what
if I have this outcome, thenthis is what I'm going to say.
(07:09):
Then this outcome, this is whatI'm going
SPEAKER_00 (07:11):
to say.
When they showed me thescreenshot of his PC, of his
laptop, and he had that decisiontree, and you told me that you
do stuff like that, that's whenI was like, Okay.
I'm not going to say I havenever sat around and thought
about a conversation.
Usually what I end up doing isruminating on conversations I
had already had and coming upwith better things I could have
(07:33):
said after the fact.
SPEAKER_01 (07:34):
You could do well
with some rehearsal because some
of our worst fights have beenbecause you just pop off at the
mouth and you speak withoutthinking.
Whereas I calculate everything Isay to a fault.
I
SPEAKER_00 (07:48):
don't know why you
had to go and bring
SPEAKER_01 (07:49):
that up.
Mentally ill.
I don't know.
Conversations for therapy.
SPEAKER_00 (07:55):
All right.
This is your spoiler warning.
Now that we've given you thebasic, I think that's as well as
I can describe it.
I'm not sure what else I couldsay.
If that doesn't, all we'resaying is we really like this
show.
That is what the show is.
SPEAKER_01 (08:09):
And when we say
elaborate rehearsal, we're
talking about fully creatingsets.
Do you consider that a spoilerof somebody's apartment?
SPEAKER_00 (08:17):
Yeah, like
elaborate.
Okay, so this is your spoilerwarning.
If you haven't been hooked yetand you just want to hear us
talk about the show, listen on.
If you think that you might likethis show, stop now and go watch
it because it is great.
I need more people to watch it.
I need it to have a seasonthree.
I don't know what he's going todo, but I'm here for it.
SPEAKER_01 (08:35):
And I'll say even if
you listen to us and then decide
that you want to go in and watchit, I had a All right.
SPEAKER_00 (08:51):
Final warning.
So episode one of the rehearsal.
Season one, episode one ispotentially one of the greatest
single television episodes frontto back.
Like, if you could just see itas one thing.
SPEAKER_01 (09:08):
It might, like,
match that really good Severance
episode
SPEAKER_00 (09:10):
that we saw.
Like, it is unbelievable.
Do
SPEAKER_01 (09:13):
you agree?
SPEAKER_00 (09:13):
Yeah, I agree.
SPEAKER_01 (09:14):
It is so good.
So, basically, he meets this mannamed Kor, who is a trivia...
aficionado and he has this groupof other trivia players and he
he has a confession to make hedoes not have his master's
degree which i guess they all doand oftentimes like we do in
societies we will typicallybuild up a problem in our head
(09:36):
to be way bigger than how otherpeople would actually react to
it so that's clearly what he'sdoing so we're introduced to
nathan he's talking about how herehearses situations he comes
over he's like oh door citybecause it was door
SPEAKER_00 (09:47):
he's at he's in
core's apartment and there's a
bunch of doors in a weird corner
SPEAKER_01 (09:51):
so he makes this
joke and then we like we meet
Cora we talk and then Nathan'slike okay now how did I prepare
for this I had to do a rehearsalthe curtain pulls back and
Nathan has created an exact setof Cora's apartment
SPEAKER_00 (10:06):
and by the way with
actors for people for people who
think like this might have beenlike a bit they showed the
footage where he sent a fake gascompany to Cora's apartment to
check for a gas leak and theywalked around his apartment
taking pictures so that theycould map it out and plan it.
And then they built an exactreplica of Cor's apartment in a
set.
SPEAKER_01 (10:25):
So he had the door
city joke planned out.
You see him rehearse that.
You see him rehearse the, takeyour shoes off.
Should we take our shirts offtoo?
SPEAKER_00 (10:32):
He's got an actor.
He's got an actor playing Cor.
SPEAKER_01 (10:35):
My favorite thing
though was when he talked about
how they're going to have to doa better job with the sets
because when he actually was inCor's apartment, he didn't
realize that when he was talkingto Cor, it could be different
because the chairs weredifferent because he rehearsed
in like a normal chair.
And then he's in one of thoselike, slinky like almost like a
camping chair right and he's allslouched down and I feel like
(10:59):
you and I like lost it like thatfirst of all I was hooked at
Door City but before I even knewit was a set I was like ha ha ha
cause that's just somethingstupid I would think if I walked
into somebody's house withmultiple doors but then that
really really sold me so then wehe goes so far as to hire an
actress to resemble one of thepeople on his team he's really
worried about is Trish
SPEAKER_00 (11:20):
Trish the dish well
so the The life event that Cora
is facing is he wants to confessto his trivia group.
SPEAKER_01 (11:26):
That he doesn't have
his master's
SPEAKER_00 (11:27):
degree.
That he doesn't have hismaster's degree.
Because it's gotten to the pointwhere they're sending him jobs
that only a person with amaster's degree could take.
And he's starting to feel reallyguilty that he lied to them.
And Trish is
SPEAKER_01 (11:37):
one of them.
So we have to find an actressthat resembles Trish.
But before we can do that, theactress playing Trish has to go
seek out the real Trish, who hasa blog about saving in the city
or something.
I think it's like a play onTrish.
on Sex and the City becausethey're in New York in this
particular episode so Nathanmakes up a fake website has this
(11:59):
girl that he is hiring toeventually play Trish go
interview Trish and then she isthe fake Trish is going to
rehearse with Cor and I just gotto the best part they usually do
trivia at this bar Nathanrecreates the bar and that bar
set continues throughout seasontwo of the rehearsal he just
(12:19):
goes in there he brings it withhim He
SPEAKER_00 (12:22):
finds it as a
comforting place that he returns
back to.
At one point, season two takesplace on the West Coast.
No, in fact, episode two ofseason one takes place on the
West Coast.
They move after episode one, andhe has the whole thing broken
down.
They're in
SPEAKER_01 (12:38):
Oregon, and then I
think they're in L.A.
and
SPEAKER_00 (12:40):
Nevada for season
two.
And then taken with him to wherehe goes.
SPEAKER_01 (12:43):
It's a focal point
of the show, this set that
remains.
SPEAKER_00 (12:46):
It's incredible.
SPEAKER_01 (12:47):
And I think when
they set it up, when he...
SPEAKER_00 (12:50):
Dryer's done.
I
SPEAKER_01 (12:51):
think you should
rehearse that.
That's why you rehearse.
So also when they moved the setfrom like the, where he was
filming with core and they moveit to Oregon while it was in
Oregon, I read online that likeyou could actually go visit it
as like a real bar.
And I think like he actually gotlike a license or something,
SPEAKER_00 (13:10):
but
SPEAKER_01 (13:12):
like the way you
walked into it was like, you
walked in through like a regularbuilding, like to the studio
with like all these, like, like
SPEAKER_00 (13:18):
they made a hallway.
Yeah.
So you didn't know that you werein a big warehouse, even though
that's what you approached.
And then suddenly you're in thisbar from New York city.
Um, Yeah,
SPEAKER_01 (13:29):
it's just craziness.
SPEAKER_00 (13:58):
One
SPEAKER_01 (13:58):
of the things he
realized was that in the
rehearsals with the fake Trishwas that Cor would get caught up
in the trivia not knowing theanswer and it would detract.
Detract?
Is that a word?
Distract.
I cannot talk.
This is why you rehearse again.
This is why we should rehearseat all our conversations and be
such a different show.
So he realizes that Cor's beingdistracted by that.
(14:21):
So he's like, I got to make surehe knows the answers.
But he's really againstcheating.
These trivia people are hardcoreIt's like their code of ethics.
So he just like starts whenthey're walking around and stuff
like, and he hires likedifferent, like a maintenance
man, like fixing the sidewalk tobe like, Hey, did you know that,
you know, the Nina, the pinch ofthe Santa Maria, like random
(14:42):
facts,
SPEAKER_00 (14:42):
like they're just
randomly walking around the city
and these people are droppingfacts that happened to be the
answers to the questions for thenight when he goes to do this.
SPEAKER_01 (14:49):
So it's not cheating
because he's
SPEAKER_00 (14:53):
incepting the
answers into him.
SPEAKER_01 (14:55):
So everything, the
conversation with, Cor and Trish
went well so then Nathan's likeshould I tell Cor about what I
did so he has an interactionwith the fake Cor the actor that
plays Cor and the actor's likeflips out at me he's like that's
some Willy Wonka crap liketrying to manipulate everything
you're crazy so then we flash toCor and Nathan does not tell him
(15:16):
I'm sure when Cor watched theepisode he'll see it and then
where I was really sold cue themusic come with me and
SPEAKER_00 (15:25):
you'll see in In a
world of pure imagination.
SPEAKER_01 (15:32):
And then episode two
is where he meets this crazy
girl who first, she's likewanting to practice like being a
mother, having a husband.
And I'm sitting there looking ather.
I'm like, you know, she's notlike the hottest person I've
ever seen, but she's not ugly.
Like, why can't she find a date?
Then we see why.
And we find out.
She's a little nutty.
So he sets up this whole fakehouse in Oregon, fake seasons.
(15:55):
There's a part where he's like, and winter is hard to keep up.
up with like the fake snow andthen it starts that story is
where things start to take on alife of their own because then
Nathan's like and I realized Iwould like to practice being a
father so he's not like going tobe dating this woman but like
he's also going to practice likebeing a dad and they rapidly age
(16:15):
the child Adam
SPEAKER_00 (16:16):
with a bunch of
different kid actors I think
what is it like every three daysthey age up the kid but they
also
SPEAKER_01 (16:22):
have to swap out
even the ones that are the same
age because of child labor
SPEAKER_00 (16:25):
laws so every four
hours they have to swap the kids
SPEAKER_01 (16:27):
And you'll see
somebody open the window and
they'll like swap the babiesout.
And then they have like a robotbaby at night.
Yeah.
I'm not kidding.
SPEAKER_00 (16:33):
They like try to do
it to maintain the cave of like
the kid is the same kid.
So from the, from the act, fromthe lady's perspective, the kid
never leaves.
It's just suddenly a new actorpops in, but she doesn't see
them leave the house and comeback in as a new person.
SPEAKER_01 (16:48):
I don't think he had
decided to integrate himself in
this rehearsal yet, but hebrought is what he set her up on
the blind date with that guy.
Yeah.
dream was to be an NBA player.
Okay.
So he, I'm like, is this guy forreal?
And he's like, they're drivingin the car and the guy's like
holding his phone, like with hisGPA, GPS.
(17:09):
And Nathan's like, do you wantme to hold up for you?
Cause I know it's like in hislap.
He's like looking down and he'slike, no, I always drive like
this.
And he didn't have like alicense plate.
SPEAKER_00 (17:16):
You don't need a
license plate.
That's legal.
SPEAKER_01 (17:19):
And then, so the guy
comes over with the robot baby
crying overnight.
And then the guy just decideshe's going to peace out.
And you and I, what is the scene
SPEAKER_00 (17:26):
that we love so
much?
First of all, Nathan went withthis guy to his apartment.
And
SPEAKER_01 (17:31):
the guy hates his
SPEAKER_00 (17:33):
roommate.
Hates his roommate.
I don't know how they got thesignatures from these people to
be on the show, to be honestwith you.
He and his roommate have anargument about something crazy.
But the guy grabs, packs a bag, walks out with that, and this
five-gallon jug of water...
Two gallon, probably a twogallon jug of water.
SPEAKER_01 (17:52):
Yeah, just like a
two gallon.
SPEAKER_00 (17:54):
And then they go and
they, you know, no license and
they drive back.
And then the guy pieces out.
SPEAKER_01 (17:59):
And just like grabs
the
SPEAKER_00 (18:00):
water.
And just grabs his bag and hiswater that he had obviously not
taken any sips out of.
And for some reason that justkilled me.
SPEAKER_01 (18:06):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_00 (18:07):
I don't know why.
And
SPEAKER_01 (18:08):
then we have some
conversations about, like,
holidays.
Okay, so the girl is, like, really, I would say
fundamentalist would be theright word I'd be looking for in
viewpoints.
Yes.
She says, like, that.
Her religious viewpoints.
Halloween is, like, satanic.
Like, we can't have Halloweencostumes.
And then, like, Nathan isJewish, and she's just like, no,
(18:31):
we can't have, like, aChristmaka situation.
It's just got to be, like, aChristmas tree.
Yeah.
So then he goes and meets thiswoman, like an actual Jewish
woman to help teach Adam, theactor, child Adam.
SPEAKER_00 (18:46):
And it's a different
actor every time.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (18:50):
And then she, I
don't know how that woman signed
over.
The whole thing is just, I'm notgoing to get into like kind of
the bit at the end of that.
You guys are going to watch thatpart yourself.
I can't even really remembersome of the other situations
that they were in in season one.
Oh, I know the one child actorgot confused and kept calling
Nathan his real daddy.
SPEAKER_00 (19:07):
Well, so before, so
before, okay.
At some point what the, the ladydecides she's, She's out.
Nathan catches her goofing off.
SPEAKER_01 (19:17):
Yeah, because she's
not actually doing the
rehearsal.
She's supposed to pretend likeshe's making these essential
oils or something and shippingthem off.
She can't even use their fakepostal bags they provided.
And
SPEAKER_00 (19:28):
so she kicks out.
But before that happens, theemphasis of that was that Nathan
had to take a longer tripbecause he did another
rehearsal.
Do you remember?
Yeah.
The guy that wanted to talk tohis brother about their
inheritance.
SPEAKER_01 (19:41):
Oh my gosh, yes.
Like the gold
SPEAKER_00 (19:44):
thing?
Yeah, and they were at thechicken restaurant and they made
the...
Canes.
They made a whole fake Canesset.
They made a fake Canes chickenrestaurant.
With
SPEAKER_01 (19:50):
actual food and
everything.
I don't know how they did that.
SPEAKER_00 (19:53):
And that got really
crazy to the point where the guy
that was rehearsing ended upjust...
SPEAKER_01 (20:00):
Leaving.
SPEAKER_00 (20:01):
Leaving after he got
done helping an actor wipe his
butt.
in the woods looking for fakegold.
SPEAKER_01 (20:08):
Yeah, because what
the bit was was that he was
upset with his brother that hewasn't going to get his
inheritance.
So then he meets...
So he goes home with the actorwho actually is that he was
rehearsing with that was playinghis brother.
And there's another actor that'splaying his grandpa.
And they have a fight.
And so he ends up helping thefaux grandpa.
(20:29):
And then he's supposedly goingto inherit this money.
So then you have the actual...
But then he ends up going outwith a girl or his girlfriend
that they were distrustful ofand they go to the fair and we
never see him again.
That
SPEAKER_00 (20:43):
was weird.
I feel insane describing thatentire scenario.
SPEAKER_01 (20:46):
And we also meet the
Fielder Method actors because we
see them again in
SPEAKER_00 (20:49):
the
SPEAKER_01 (20:51):
second season.
And there's the one guy hepretends to like...
to see if he's teaching.
SPEAKER_00 (20:57):
He takes a bunch of
actors in L.A.
who are up for anything,obviously.
We'll see
SPEAKER_01 (21:04):
just how up for
anything they are
SPEAKER_00 (21:06):
in season two.
Go into the real world, pick aperson at random, and try and
become them.
And so they go out and they dothis, and they come back, and
some of them do okay, but Nathantakes it up to a next level with
one of them by getting him a jobat the, what's the place called?
Asiago Bowl?
I don't know.
(21:26):
I don't know.
SPEAKER_01 (21:27):
We're too...
We don't have nice things.
SPEAKER_00 (21:29):
We don't have nice
things.
But he gets him a job there sothat he can live that life more.
It's kind
SPEAKER_01 (21:33):
of like Chipotle,
but for like yogurts and stuff.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_00 (21:36):
Then he can...
Somehow this guy ends up livingin an apartment with two other
actors that Nathan has hired.
And Nathan ends up living in hisapartment.
SPEAKER_01 (21:46):
Which is weird.
Weird, weird.
SPEAKER_00 (21:50):
And then Nathan goes
back to Oregon and...
and becomes the full-time singlefather.
to a fake child.
SPEAKER_01 (21:59):
Oh, the dog cloning
is in season two.
I was like, when
SPEAKER_00 (22:02):
does that season
two?
That's in season two with theSully episode.
SPEAKER_01 (22:06):
I like how Nathan
asks the one.
Okay, so back to that actor thatthought he was like his actual
dad.
Nathan's like, where'd you getyour outfit?
And the mom's like, buckle.
And then Nathan like, this islike her.
What?
SPEAKER_00 (22:21):
In a fake her
apartment.
And he rehearses with theteenage Adam.
Yeah, yeah.
In a fake apartment of hermaking.
Yeah.
And then because he's feelingguilty about the kid that got
feelings towards him.
Yeah.
And so using the actor child, who's a little bit older,
attempts to reconcile with thatsituation to make sure that the
(22:42):
kid knows that he's not hisactual dad, but it's okay.
And the season just ended there.
And it was like stunningsilence.
followed by like just uproariousapplause
SPEAKER_01 (22:55):
and then enter
season two we find out that
Nathan has always beenfascinated with aviation pilots
flying and he's been lookinginto a lot of the which I feel
like when this was filmed a lotof the recent stuff hadn't
happened yet so the timing wasvery interesting like aviation
accidents and the research showsthat a lot of the accidents were
(23:16):
caused because the pilot and theco-pilot weren't exactly
communicating and so we We havethat as our through plot the
whole season.
He actually is trying to evenmeet with Congress, which I
don't think he ever actuallygets to meet with Congress.
No.
But he does meet with somebodywho's like an advocate for
aviation safety.
He was a former chairman.
Yeah, he's like, I'm doing ashow for HBO's Paying Me Money,
(23:37):
so I have to make it funny, butwe could still do it.
And the guy's like, all right.
And along the way while we havethat, we have certain plots.
In the episode...
At one point, he tries to hookup one of the actual co-pilots,
right?
With one of his actors.
And that's where we get...
Does Einstein make you...
(23:57):
I can't even say it.
She's
SPEAKER_00 (23:59):
attracted to
Einstein, yeah.
Because of his big, bulgingbrain.
That's not what she said,though.
No, that's not what she said.
You just have to watch it.
I'm not...
SPEAKER_01 (24:09):
One of his...
Do you remember what she said?
SPEAKER_00 (24:13):
I remember what she
said.
I'm not going to say it.
SPEAKER_01 (24:14):
No.
So there's an episode where hemeets this couple and they've
actually cloned their old dogthat they had.
So that inspires him to see ifyou could clone something and
make the situations exactlysimilar.
Could you be in that mindset?
So he decides he wants to, hereads Sully's book.
SPEAKER_00 (24:35):
Sully Sullenberger,
the pilot.
Who's still alive, I'm prettysure.
The pilot who saved that flightand landed it in the Hudson
River.
Who played him in the movie?
SPEAKER_01 (24:42):
Yeah, yeah.
Who played him best?
Nathan Fielder
SPEAKER_00 (24:45):
or Thomas?
Nathan Fielder.
100%.
Give him an answer.
No question.
SPEAKER_01 (24:48):
So when we say all
his life, we have like toddler
Nathan in a room with puppetsbeing like breastfed.
SPEAKER_00 (24:55):
They built a...
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
You're not selling it here.
They built a nursery room.
Yeah.
To scale so that it would makeNathan seem like a toddler
sized.
And then
SPEAKER_01 (25:07):
they
SPEAKER_00 (25:09):
craned him into the
crib and had a gigantic
marionette mother walk in,
SPEAKER_01 (25:18):
pick
SPEAKER_00 (25:19):
him up, breastfeed
him.
SPEAKER_01 (25:21):
That's the one part
where you can tell Nathan
Fielder actually broke characterbecause when he was like, bleh.
So it goes through all of, like,Sully's emotions, like his first
date that he talks about, likeeverything that he talks about
in the book.
And one of the things that hetalked about a lot in the book
was how his iPod was so–remember iPods?
What a time to be alive.
Loved iPods.
(25:41):
How that was, like, a comfort.
And I guess there was 23seconds.
Was that what it was?
That Sully– that there wassilence between
SPEAKER_00 (25:49):
Sully and his– And
then Sully starts talking again.
Is the
SPEAKER_01 (25:53):
silence period
between him talking to the
co-pilot?
Yes.
Yeah.
So Nathan's like, there's a songthat he liked to listen to a lot
on his iPod.
And then he finds out like thechorus is exactly 23 seconds
long.
And it's a great song.
Wake me up.
Wake me up inside.
Can't wake up, save me from thenothing I've become.
SPEAKER_00 (26:16):
Seeing that clip on
TikTok is what got me to want to
watch this show.
SPEAKER_01 (26:20):
And that's a good
song.
SPEAKER_00 (26:22):
Yeah, it's still a
banger, but I had to know.
So we see him
SPEAKER_01 (26:24):
jogging to the song.
So do you think there's aconnection there?
Do you think, Sully?
Because they found the iPod inthe plane when they were
covering it.
Do you think that's what he waslistening to for 23 seconds to
get focused?
SPEAKER_00 (26:36):
I like to believe
that, yes.
SPEAKER_01 (26:37):
Anyway, next time
I'm at an airport, which will be
relatively soon, I'm going tomake sure when I see the pilots
walking around that they'retalking to each other.
Yeah.
Using the Fielder method.
It's saving lives one day at atime.
So if you think that the puppetfeeding a fake baby Nathan is
the most unhinged part aboutthis, I raise you.
SPEAKER_00 (26:57):
Oh, can I do it?
Please, can I tell them?
Are you going to talk about thelast episode?
SPEAKER_01 (27:01):
Yeah.
Okay.
Do you guys know what a 737plane is?
That's like a commercial-sizedplane that you would take to
maybe like from like Columbus toOrlando, for example.
You may go, Daniel.
SPEAKER_00 (27:13):
So he's been
frustrated because he's not
really– he went and saw asenator, a sitting U.S.
senator.
in the show
SPEAKER_01 (27:21):
oh my gosh but you
didn't get to the circle back
the way he was able to get ameeting was because i guess the
senator was like an advocate forautism yeah so nathan's like a
lot of my i've noticed on redditpeople think i have autism so he
like reads reddit comments andhe decides that he that's how
he's going to get his in to talkabout like you know wanting like
(27:42):
to help autism yeah that's howhe's that's how he gets his foot
in the door with a guy all right
SPEAKER_00 (27:47):
so he gets his foot
in the door he talks with
senator the senator blows him onSo he gets frustrated.
He's not going to be able tobring the conclusion of his
studies in front of Congress, infront of the FAA, but nobody's
listening.
And so the last episode drops, and he's talking to the guy from
the National TransportationSafety Board, and he's like,
(28:11):
well, what would it take for meto fly a 737?
Yeah.
And the guy's like, oh, it'simpossible.
That's so many hours and so manystuff.
And he said, okay, but what if Ididn't have– what if I wasn't
flying paying– what if I was nottransporting paying passengers?
What if they were actors and Iwas paying them?
(28:31):
Then he reveals that he's– forthe last two years or so, he's
been on the side getting hispilot's license.
Two
SPEAKER_01 (28:38):
years.
Just know, if I ever send you aTikTok of Nathan Fielder flying
the– 737, that's how committed Iam to the bit.
That's how much I'm committed toyou.
The two years of work to getthere.
SPEAKER_00 (28:53):
Then he starts doing
the official training that you
have to do to fly a 737.
SPEAKER_01 (28:58):
Guess when you get
to fly a 737 for the first time,
do you practice flying one?
No.
Not a real one.
The first time is withpassengers.
You do the simulator and this isfor all pilots.
They don't just take those 737sout on regular runs, which I
would have assumed No, they usethe simulator.
Their very first time.
You could be, I mean, this couldbe us soon.
(29:21):
I hope the pilots talk to eachother.
Next time you fly, just think,it could be your pilot's first
time flying one.
SPEAKER_00 (29:28):
So he goes around
the country looking for a 737
that he can take.
He goes to this junkyard, talksto the guy.
Is that a bird's nest?
SPEAKER_01 (29:38):
The guy's like, I
can fly my own family in this.
And he pulls off a button
SPEAKER_00 (29:43):
off of it.
That's fine.
You won't even miss it.
So he finds a plane.
He gets one of the pilot.
By the way, we haven't reallytalked about a whole subplot
where he actually gets co-pilotsand pilots and talks to them and
gets them interacting with eachother and all this stuff.
And the one guy that's bannedfrom all the dating apps.
SPEAKER_01 (29:59):
And Instagram.
I'm going to think about that.
I'm like, I hope my pilot's notbanned from all the dating apps.
SPEAKER_00 (30:04):
So he gets one of
the pilots to take this on with
him.
And the end of the show...
And
SPEAKER_01 (30:09):
not that guy.
No,
SPEAKER_00 (30:10):
not that guy.
At the end of the show, he,with...
Basically, it looks like all theactors from the Fielder Method
and a bunch of other people geton a 737.
He flies it for a two-hour triparound and back and lands it.
I
SPEAKER_01 (30:26):
think what was
really funny about that part
with getting the actors is thatI'm like, geez, actors will do
anything.
thing and we're explaining it tothe actors one of the actors
goes actors man geez yeah I meanwould you do that
SPEAKER_00 (30:39):
no
SPEAKER_01 (30:39):
and one of Nathan's
problems was that he did have
like like they said he was likea slow learner so he would also
like rehearse and practice athome but he flew the 737 and
then
SPEAKER_00 (30:50):
since and then kind
of in the post script of the
episode he talks about how sincethey stopped filming he's
continued to he like helps flyplanes.
Most of these planes don't havepeople on them because he's not
allowed to fly with people yetbecause he has a certain number
of hours he has to get in in theair.
So he's helped planes that needto be flown from some place to
(31:11):
another place.
They'll take him to that placeand he'll fly them back.
And he
SPEAKER_01 (31:14):
did not buy the
plane, the junkie plane.
They ended up finding anotherone.
It looked suspiciously like acompany that uses purple and
orange to me, but the inside ofit looked like another company
that a lot of people oftencommonly
SPEAKER_00 (31:27):
fly.
And I just...
SPEAKER_01 (31:29):
What do you think it
was?
I think it was FedEx.
I think it was a FedEx plane.
That's what I think, ultimately.
SPEAKER_00 (31:34):
They couldn't say,
though.
Yeah, they couldn't say.
I think they had to put seats init.
So I think that's what tells meit was probably a FedEx plane.
And they
SPEAKER_01 (31:43):
even had people
pretending to be the flight
attendants.
Each actor knew what drink theywere going to order for the
whole rehearsal.
So next time you're at anairport and you're sitting there
and you see the pilots come in,just make sure if they're
talking, that's probably a goodsign.
SPEAKER_00 (31:59):
yeah and we have
done an absolute disservice to
just how amazing like thisseason two this season two of
the show was
SPEAKER_01 (32:11):
wake me
SPEAKER_00 (32:12):
up there we didn't
even really talk about the like
singing contest that they gotinto oh gosh
SPEAKER_01 (32:16):
yes the scene he had
like a okay so he also
apparently used to be a not ajudge, but one of the producer
or something that would work theauditions for the Canadian
version of American Idol.
So he decides that that's a wayhe's going to get like the
because the he's finding out theco-pilots are kind of afraid to
speak their mind.
Yeah.
(32:37):
So he gets them with this wholefake competition, which they
actually did, I think, have awinner.
Oh,
SPEAKER_00 (32:43):
that's because he
built that.
Another thing we completelyforgot to talk about in season
two because there's so much hebuilt an entire replica of like
the Houston and internationalairport area.
And that's
SPEAKER_01 (32:55):
where they were
going to perform on
SPEAKER_00 (32:57):
a fake.
And he put the bar in it.
Yes.
From season one.
It was,
SPEAKER_01 (33:01):
it was a whole
thing.
So then we, he, we do declare awinner of that show because they
did go through with it.
And guess what she's saying?
Evidence bring me to life.
And it was chef's kiss.
It was excellent.
SPEAKER_00 (33:12):
It was amazing.
Like I said, season, the momentseason three gets green lit,
This is my best thing going.
SPEAKER_01 (33:20):
If you think you're
like, wow, they just babbled.
They sound insane.
This show sounds so random.
It's because it is.
But it's also good.
SPEAKER_00 (33:26):
The insanity that we
have described to you here pales
in comparison to the insanity ofthe show.
SPEAKER_01 (33:32):
Yes.
SPEAKER_00 (33:32):
And if you are at
all enticed by what we've said
right here, you should go watchit.
It is...
An insane thing to behold.
SPEAKER_01 (33:39):
What's even crazier,
though, is Nathan For You, which
we have started.
We have only seen a few episodesof season one of that.
He's much younger on that show, but he does reference it a
couple times.
And I just think his brand ofhumor really appeals to me.
SPEAKER_00 (33:55):
Yeah, it's quite the
one that sticks out to me.
Well, there's two that stick outto me.
I won't talk about the onething.
But the poop-flavored yogurt.
SPEAKER_01 (34:06):
Oh, I was thinking
about the rebate.
SPEAKER_00 (34:07):
The rebate was good.
Yeah, the rebate was pretty goodas well.
That's not even what I thoughtabout.
I was thinking about when he wasdoing job interviews.
And what his friends call him.
SPEAKER_01 (34:18):
No, no.
Moving on, moving on.
Anyway, go check out NathanFielder, the rehearsal.
Please check it out.
It's so funny.
If
SPEAKER_00 (34:28):
you've watched it,
hit us up with a fan mail.
Let us know what you thought.
What was the craziest thing thatyou think he did on there?
SPEAKER_01 (34:33):
I had an actual
pilot reach out to me on Twitter
and told me that he felt that itwas very exaggerated.
And I said, well, a lot of stuffis going to be exaggerated.
But he was very passionate inhis responses to me.
And I said, well, I think whatNathan was really trying to talk
about was just the communicationissues in general.
And I think some feathers mighthave been ruffled.
He said, if you're in aviation, let us know.
(34:54):
Did it bug you?
Do you talk to me?
your co-pilot
SPEAKER_00 (34:56):
that's the thing I
like about this show too is it
didn't wasn't just a comedy itwasn't just an entertainment it
actually sparked a conversationan important conversation
because this is stuff that isimportant for people's of any
job
SPEAKER_01 (35:08):
too I mean
especially that one where you're
literally flying people andthere are lives at stake but I
think a lot of people canstruggle with communication
they're letting out their realfeelings be known and it can be
tough for people Speaking offeelings, let's move into, we
finally watched Captain AmericaBrave New World.
(35:29):
I think this movie came out inFebruary, and I don't think it
was in theaters very long, andprobably for a good reason.
What'd you think, Daniel?
SPEAKER_00 (35:38):
um i you know me i
love captain america i love the
captain america movies i like umsam anthony mackie sam wilson's
character as captain america butboy this movie was not good
SPEAKER_01 (35:51):
i'm gonna say it was
fine and just use a phrase from
you okay i agree that's why ifeel like where a lot of people
are dunking on the movie it'sbecause they are against sam as
captain america that could notbe any further from the truth in
fact it makes me matter thatthey couldn't give him a good
script yeah as his first leadingmovie as captain America the
best parts in it were when Buckyshows up for like 30 seconds do
(36:13):
I think you need to see CaptainAmerica Brave New World before
you see Thunderbolts no I do notwe didn't I knew enough what
happened at the end of it but Ithink you're fine to see
Thunderbolts which was a farsuperior movie I'm gonna call
him out because I said I wasgoing to I love Harrison Ford I
think he can be a great actor Idon't know did he just want some
Marvel money did he owe a favorto somebody he was not good at
(36:34):
all he played Red Hall
SPEAKER_00 (36:36):
I just don't think
the character was like in to
write home about like that wasthe character he was playing
yeah was recast and becauseWilliam Hurt played him
originally and then he WilliamHurt passed away obviously and
that character was just alwayskind of like he was the main he
was the main antagonist in theHulk movie from 2009 which was
(36:56):
not a good one since then he'sbeen a bit player and this is a
Hulk
SPEAKER_01 (37:01):
movie with not
Edward Norton yeah with Edward
Norton
SPEAKER_00 (37:04):
so it's not like I
don't know I just I don't yeah I
it looked like Harrison Fordkind of phoned it in.
He just seemed like he wasthere.
But also, he didn't have much towork with.
SPEAKER_01 (37:12):
It seemed to me like
he could have put a little more
into the role in my opinion hejust seemed like he honestly
felt like Paul from shrinkingreading lines pretending like I
can't believe like you knowstupid what's his face is making
me pretend like I'm the Red Hulkso I'm just gonna read these
lines as blandly as I can that'swhat it came I was like I felt
(37:32):
like I was watching HarrisonFord play Paul play Red Hulk
that's what it felt like to mewould you say that's a fair
assessment
SPEAKER_00 (37:40):
no I would yeah I
agree
SPEAKER_01 (37:41):
West Virginia's in
the movie though
SPEAKER_00 (37:43):
yeah
SPEAKER_01 (37:43):
they went to a place
apparently that's in West
Virginia Virginia where there'sno cell service.
I'm like, are they in myhometown?
No, it's an actual place.
SPEAKER_00 (37:51):
It's a radio wave
dead zone.
SPEAKER_01 (37:54):
You can't use GPS,
nothing.
I felt like the movie was verychoppy as well.
SPEAKER_00 (38:00):
It went through
several rewrites and several
reshoots and I think it shows.
It was just disappointing.
They need to stop putting moviesinto production until they've
got a finalized script thateverybody's okay with.
SPEAKER_01 (38:13):
I feel like the
character of Captain America
deserves better i feel likeanthony mackie deserves better
and i hope they don't see thismovie as a flop to not give him
any more material to work withthat'd be disappointing so my
beef is not like oh i'm justupset that it's not chris evans
anymore no absolutely not i'mactually like almost furious
that they did not give him abetter script and we just
watched this on disney plus umso we yeah well because if you
(38:37):
have disney plus go ahead andwatch it i don't think you'll be
bored
SPEAKER_00 (38:39):
yeah because sam
wilson is not a super soldier
And I think that's interesting.
How does a regular human persondeal with this world where
they're not a super soldier?
But the problem is what they didinstead was just make his suit
really powerful, and then hebasically was a super soldier.
Yeah, they used
SPEAKER_01 (38:56):
the Wakanda
SPEAKER_00 (38:57):
material.
Instead of actually making itlike, oh gosh, this is a Red
Hulk.
How do I stop this?
SPEAKER_01 (39:02):
And Liv Tyler shows
up.
She reprised her role from thatmovie years ago.
And I feel like she just came into deliver a line as well.
I'm just going to say
SPEAKER_00 (39:13):
it.
It was a mess of a movie, andI'm upset that they did that to
Captain America and thestoryline because they could
have done better.
SPEAKER_01 (39:21):
But you know what's
even worse?
And it's terrible.
And I feel like I'm beingtortured every week when I tune
in.
And just like that, seasonthree, somehow each episode gets
worse.
I didn't think it was going toget worse than Aiden in the
truck calling Carrie andspitting on his hand, but...
Somehow it's managed to do so.
What do you think of it in JustLike That so far?
(39:42):
Oh,
SPEAKER_00 (39:44):
it's terrible.
It's absolutely awful.
This is a torture.
that I have to watch.
We're talking, we've got likewhat, two or three episodes that
we've not talked about.
I can't even remember.
Like you said, each onecontinues to get worse.
SPEAKER_01 (39:56):
Aiden just gets
continually more awful.
So we had, at one point wethought that they were going to
do something nefarious withCarrie's cat.
Yeah.
Which thankfully that was fine.
Oh, what you say?
We had Trey from the OC show upas Carrie's gardener randomly
and I'm like, who is that?
(40:17):
Like I do every time I watch ashow and I recognize somebody
and it was so we had to do the Ithink you actually did it before
I did you went I paused it Ipaused it The OC fans are going
to know.
Or if you ever watched SNL backthen.
They did a skit where theyspoofed that.
So Aiden just continues to getmore and more awful.
With every passing breath.
(40:37):
Now I feel like Aiden.
I'm actually on Aiden'sex-wife's side.
Like his kid.
He wanted some meds.
Or his wife wanted Carrie tolike be her drug mule.
To get some ADHD meds for herson.
And which I thought was weird.
Like why are you calling Carrieabout this?
This is odd.
Well then we find out.
Like she gives them to Aiden.
He just kind of like shrugs.
rugs them off because they'renot doing their no contact five
(41:00):
years.
Carrie's down there for like abook signing hoping that Aiden
will throw her an olive branchto come see him because he just
holds all the cards in thishorrible relationship.
Just gives me so much ick.
So then we have another episodewhere they kind of address that
and Aiden and Kathy's ex-wifeare fighting about it and
Aiden's like just wholephilosophy on that.
(41:20):
I'm like, ew, you're not being agood parent either right now,
dude.
And you know who's a bad parentin another show and then showed
up and caught me off guard?
So Kathy's boyfriend, Bob, wasthat his name?
That's JJ's birth dad from OuterBanks who killed JJ.
Spoiler alert if you haven'twatched Outer Banks yet.
And I was like, ah! I had topause because I was like, oh no!
(41:42):
Because that guy scared me somuch, but I actually liked Bob
on
SPEAKER_00 (41:45):
the show.
Bob seemed chill.
SPEAKER_01 (41:47):
And then Bob's
talking to Carrie about stuff
and Carrie's realizing howlittle Aiden actually tells her
and communicates with her sothen they have this whole
blowout at the family dinnerthing I liked how Bob wasn't
even playing the game he wasjust sitting playing on his
phone in the corner what Carrieshould have been done but she's
really trying I feel like shewas really trying to make an
effort she shopped at thishorrible store by the way
they're acting like Virginia islike the sticks like it's super
(42:10):
annoying the way they're doingthat
SPEAKER_00 (42:12):
granted there
probably are sticks in Virginia
SPEAKER_01 (42:14):
I guess but like she
Target was like 30 miles away
which is normally We have todrive to our target.
So she goes to some shop intown.
It looks like, you know, sisterwives, like trad, like, I don't
even know, like maybe like alittle house in the Prairie
clothing.
Let's throw it.
What, what it was just some kindof boutique.
And he's like, well, you cantake the ATV and ride into town.
(42:36):
So she, cause she didn't haveany of her clothes because like
the car got towed.
It was a whole big thing.
Well,
SPEAKER_00 (42:41):
she didn't go down
there with the intent to stay.
SPEAKER_01 (42:43):
Oh, she did, but she
didn't.
I know.
Yeah.
Like she totally did.
Carrie is being just really, annoying to me in this because
she's acting so weak and lettingAiden have all the cards it's a
whole other thing so anywayDaniel's like oh I remember when
you came to my house and youwent you and my sister rode to
the store and I said we didn'tride to the store on an ATV we
rode to the gas station to getsome Gatorades on a lawnmower
(43:08):
and what did you say
SPEAKER_00 (43:09):
well because we
weren't country Brits we were
country poor
SPEAKER_01 (43:12):
so like I did ride
an ATV for the first time with
your family I don't think youhad a helmet on me thanks for
I'm glad we survived the day.
But I was like, no, no.
It was a lawnmower that we rodefrom your mom's house to the BP
to pick up some tasty beverages.
SPEAKER_00 (43:27):
Just want to defend
myself for a second.
I never rode the lawnmower up tothe gas station.
I always walked.
Why did you say
SPEAKER_01 (43:32):
here?
Take
SPEAKER_00 (43:33):
the lawnmower with
Hannah.
I don't know why.
I don't know why all this
SPEAKER_01 (43:37):
stuff endeared me.
That outdoor shower that I hadto use was the time I had to
number two.
You guys were like, your momsaid, if you have to number two,
you've got to go drive toMcDonald's.
SPEAKER_00 (43:47):
Well, that was the
summer we didn't have a
bathroom.
Bye.
SPEAKER_01 (43:50):
mess around I see
why you get so I see why you
need rehearsals in your life andall these things I just thought
was funny I think it endeared melike the time you took me to the
I don't think the mini martexists anymore with all the
animal heads on the
SPEAKER_00 (44:02):
wall no it's a it's
a health clinic now
SPEAKER_01 (44:05):
we can never find we
would always do s'mores out
there because I think you guysare trying to do activities to
make me feel welcome
SPEAKER_00 (44:10):
yeah we didn't do
this regularly you're
SPEAKER_01 (44:11):
trying to make me
feel welcome since I had to
drive to McDonald's to poop andstuff so so we would do s'mores
and they never had regulargraham crackers you remember
that
SPEAKER_00 (44:21):
yeah they had
cinnamon we always had
SPEAKER_01 (44:22):
to eat them with
cinnamon graham crackers and i i
really did acquire a taste for anice s'more with a cinnamon
graham cracker because iremember the first time because
that's the only time i'd reallyeat them the first time i had a
regular s'more again i was likethis isn't the same
SPEAKER_00 (44:35):
was that the fire
pit that was just an old tire
rim
SPEAKER_01 (44:38):
i
SPEAKER_00 (44:38):
don't know i think
so i wonder if mom still has
that i asked her to keep it
SPEAKER_01 (44:44):
Anyway.
Anyway.
I would take riding on thelawnmower than being with
stupid, boring Aiden.
So at one point, Aiden, like, they, Carrie realized after this
(45:08):
blowout, like, oh, you know, maybe Aiden really does need to
focus on his family.
So they go have a talk.
And I was like, oh, Aiden'sfinally going to apologize.
The way the hairs on my neckstood up straight when Carrie
apologized to Aiden.
And then I was like, okay, well, maybe he'll apologize next and
be like, I'm sorry I've beenstraining you alone, that I've
been acting this way.
No apologies.
(45:30):
because he's the worst.
Am I missing any other Aiden-yweirdness?
SPEAKER_00 (45:36):
No, I think that it
was quite a bit for the episodes
we got.
It really
SPEAKER_01 (45:40):
annoyed me, though,
when Carrie and Seema were, this
was before they met up withAiden, and Seema came to
Virginia with her, and they werelying in the hotel bed eating
KFC, and it was like, I justfeel like these are writers with
money being like, see howrelatable we are that we're
eating our KFC in bed.
All it made me want was a bucketof
SPEAKER_00 (45:58):
chicken.
It looked like two actors thathad never actually eaten KFC in
their life trying to eat friedchicken.
SPEAKER_01 (46:03):
We're so funny.
We're so country.
We're eating our KFC in bed.
It was just very cringe.
And then Miranda just does notfeel like Miranda at all
anymore.
I don't really care aboutCharlotte's friend, Lisa.
SPEAKER_00 (46:14):
Harry peed his
pants.
SPEAKER_01 (46:17):
Yeah, because he was
trying to wear these tight jeans
or something.
I couldn't get them off in time.
I don't really know.
I feel like at this point,Charlotte and Harry are comedic
relief.
SPEAKER_00 (46:25):
Yeah, they are.
SPEAKER_01 (46:26):
And then...
Harry's dad shows up in anepisode who most people know
from Ozark, but I know as fromFrasier because he dated Brandy
with the traditional spelling.
SPEAKER_00 (46:38):
Oh, we have to talk
about the banana for a second.
So for everybody that's on thispodcast, we may have even talked
about this before, but I justwant to make sure it's very
clear.
You hate bananas.
SPEAKER_01 (46:50):
I hate bananas.
SPEAKER_00 (46:52):
I
SPEAKER_01 (46:53):
can't stand them.
It's a texture thing.
They gag me.
They're so gross.
I just cannot stand them.
It's like the one like runnerthing that I just am like, ew, I
can't do a banana.
SPEAKER_00 (47:04):
So Charlotte or
Harry, one of the two picks up
this banana prop on set andthey're like, this is too far
gone.
We got to throw it out.
It was
SPEAKER_01 (47:13):
perfectly
SPEAKER_00 (47:14):
fine.
And I looked at you and I said, you person who hates bananas.
Is there anything wrong withthat banana?
I didn't even see a brown.
I didn't even see a brown.
I didn't even see a brown spot.
I don't like, I will eat abanana that is 80% brown spot.
On the outside.
SPEAKER_01 (47:28):
What was that joke
that was like a frozen banana?
SPEAKER_00 (47:33):
Would you like a
frozen banana?
No.
But I would like a regularbanana later.
So, yes.
SPEAKER_01 (47:42):
Oh, wow.
If you know, you know.
Anyway.
SPEAKER_00 (47:44):
Tell me what your
percentage of brown banana is
before you have to throw itaway.
In the social media-verse.
I
SPEAKER_01 (47:53):
don't even know
where they're going with him
dressed like that.
Like, what is going on?
I just feel like if the writerswere smart, they would actually
write Carrie wanting to, like, you know, do all these things
with Aiden because she stillhasn't dealt with her grief and
he's somebody that's a comfortto her.
Because I'm like, at this point, they're at one.
She's not 80.
(48:13):
She's what, like, in her late50s?
Maybe even mid-50s?
She's not even that old.
They're acting like she's, like,just some, like...
crippled old elderly woman withlike no life to live yet and I
just it's not a great messagethis show really feels like it's
written to sound smart and evenwith the fashion they're trying
to come off like the old showwas known Sex and City for the
(48:36):
fashion choices but it wasauthentic this just carrying
that stupid bonnet like that oneepisode it's just it's not a
good show but I'll keep watchingit for as long as I'm tortured
to do so we kept pausing theepisode the most recent one and
I was like we have I have 30more minutes of this?
What is going
SPEAKER_00 (48:54):
on?
It's been pretty miserable, tobe honest.
SPEAKER_01 (48:56):
The one compliment
I'll have is I like Carrie's
refrigerator in her bigapartment.
SPEAKER_00 (49:01):
So sets, set design.
You like set design on thisshow.
SPEAKER_01 (49:04):
I like that
particular.
You said you like that fridgetoo.
SPEAKER_00 (49:07):
It's a nice fridge.
I
SPEAKER_01 (49:08):
like that particular
piece.
But there was this whole thingon the plane where she realizes
the table she wanted to buy thatAiden gave the thumbs down to
when they were texting.
She's like, fine, I'm going tobuy it.
Like this was after she leavesVirginia and it's sold out.
And that's got to be a metaphor,right?
That Carrie waiting around fromhim is like her life is wasting
away.
Yep.
But will it be?
Will these writers be smartenough?
I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_00 (49:29):
Okay, so you did
watch Something Without Me.
Yes.
We Were Liars?
SPEAKER_01 (49:34):
We are in the lull
before we get bamboozled.
Not bamboozled.
SPEAKER_00 (49:39):
Bombarded.
Inundated.
Bombarded.
SPEAKER_01 (49:41):
Bombarded, yes, with
tons of content.
So I was told by a couple peopleto watch two different shows.
There's one show that I did notwatch on Netflix.
It's by Kevin Williamson, who isknown for Dawson's Creek,
Vampire Diaries.
Well, his co-producer or writeror whatever, I don't know,
partner, whatever.
(50:01):
Julie Plec, who's also known forThe Vampire Diaries, she has the
show on Amazon Prime called WeWere Liars.
I read the descriptions forboth, and I was like, Kevin,
just like I never agreed withthe couples that you wanted,
because he was a Dawson-Joeyshipper, gag.
Thankfully, Joey and Pacey won,and he also liked Stefan and
Elena.
I have no problems with Stefan, but teamed Elena all day, baby.
So I'm like, what's that like tohave two of your main shows
(50:24):
where you did not get the endgames you wanted because no one
liked it?
So I was like, you know, I'malready judging you a little bit
for that, Kevin.
So, and the whole fishing anddrug wars, that's what the I
don't even know what it'scalled, but there's a show on
Netflix.
I'm like, you know what?
I haven't watched anythingexcept for old episodes of
Everwood on Amazon Prime inforever.
I don't think I've watched a newprogram on there since we
watched Mr.
and Mrs.
Smith over a year ago.
(50:44):
So I was like, I'll give theJulie Plec show a try, We Were
Liars, because it also hasCandace Kane in it, who was
Caroline Forbes on the VampireDiaries, who's playing a mother,
not of young children, of, like, teenagers.
What?
And I'm really starting to thinkthat Candace Kane, y'all, is a
real vampire in real life, because she...
looks better than she did on theVampire Diaries in this show.
(51:05):
Like, she looks so good.
So I'm like, is she really, like, a real vampire?
Like, a vampire actor?
Maybe.
I don't know.
And then it's got Barbara AllenWoods who played Deb Scott on
One Tree Hill, another iconicshow.
Her daughter, Emily Allen Lynn, she's the main character.
And then, I'm getting to it, ithas Ewan McGregor's daughter who
(51:27):
plays Caroline Forbes's, orCandace Kane, Caroline Forbes.
Her daughter is played by EwanMcGregor's daughter.
I'm
SPEAKER_00 (51:34):
so lost by all these
names right now.
What's the show about?
I was
SPEAKER_01 (51:37):
trying to tell you.
I'll tell you that in a minute.
I was trying to tell you aboutlike the different actors and
you were like you left out EwanMcGregor's daughter I was like I
didn't realize that and then thebig one that I noticed that not
a lot of people would be excitedfor especially the youth
probably watching the show was Iwas like where do I know this
voice from Charlie's mom fromthe Santa Claus is like the
(52:00):
granny in the show but she haslike the because they all have
blonde hair so her hair was dyedbut it was the voice that
because at one point she had theshrill voice and took me back to
scotch over no oceans you knowshe always had that shrill voice
in santa claus scotch and likei'm like where have i heard that
voice so wendy creason i thinkis her name so anyway what is
this show about well it's calledwe were liars and basically this
(52:23):
you know y'all know i'm alwaysdown for a rich family at the
beach with some mystery it'sjust my wheelhouse i love these
like like these rich peopleshows just it's really fun this
has a lot of trauma though andthey grow up on this like going
to this island every summer Ithink it's like on Martha's
Vineyard or something it's likean island off Martha's Vineyard
(52:44):
and it opens up with Cadencethat's played by Emily Allen
Wood her character like beingwashed up on a beach left for
dead she's not dead though andshe has no memory of how she got
there how it happened blah blahblah so we have flashbacks to
summers when they were kids thenflashbacks I don't know.
(53:25):
that you were like i was likewhere have i seen this actor
from i know it's a lot but atone point i'm like wait a minute
aren't they like cousins butthey're not cousins and so yeah
the mystery is her trying toremember how she got there
there's also obviously all thesisters have their own skeletons
in their closet with secretsthat they're keeping the whole
(53:46):
like patriarch of the family thegrandfather is weird and mean so
you're just trying to reallypiece it together like how how
did she end up left for deadwhen when When is she going to
get, she's starting to get hermemories back with each episode.
I think I'm only like fourepisodes in.
And the whole thing is like, butlike at one point they call out
people for lying.
So I'm wondering if the bigtwist is going to be in is just
(54:07):
that we're not going to knowbecause we were liars.
And I'm like, if you guys, ifyou end that Julie Plecum,
you'll make me mad again, justlike you used to on the Vampire
Diaries.
But yeah, so it's, if you'reinto that type of like drama-y,
like rich people at the beachkind of shows, it might be
something you might enjoy.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_00 (54:28):
Okay, and you've
been watching another show with
me, without me, consistently,incessantly.
Whatever
SPEAKER_01 (54:35):
happened to
predictability?
The milkman, the paperboy, theevening TV.
Full house.
So I've been listening to theOla Tannarito's podcast.
So while you were on your lastwork trip, I had no content to
watch.
So Marvin and I sat down andwatched some Full House, and I
was like, you know what?
Family Matters might be cringeand doesn't hit, but Full House
(54:57):
still hits, baby.
It's still funny, even though Ireally get annoyed by Uncle
Jesse as an adult now.
Like, he's kind of toxic attimes.
Do you
SPEAKER_00 (55:05):
agree?
He does not come off well upon
SPEAKER_01 (55:07):
rewatch.
No.
that they how big was that housethat attic is like huge anyway
SPEAKER_00 (55:15):
every time they
needed more room they just add
another floor
SPEAKER_01 (55:17):
so I've been
re-watching Full House and you I
was gonna compliment Danielbecause he was actually enjoying
the episodes laughing I knowwhen Daniel's enjoying something
I know when he's not he wasenjoying several of the episodes
and then I was the other night Iwas like do you want to watch
Frasier because I was in themood to watch the Cranes Go
Caribbean one of my favoriteFrasier episodes the season 8
finale of Frasier and Daniel'slike oh thank god so we don't
(55:42):
have to watch anymore of stupidfull house and i was like i was
gonna compliment you on thepodcast about how engaged you
had been and how you wereactually seeming like you
weren't enjoying full house canyou just admit it that you did
laugh i have authentic laughswith full house
SPEAKER_00 (55:55):
i was just
rehearsing
SPEAKER_01 (55:56):
no you weren't shut
up how rude i will say that
stephanie always clocks everyone
SPEAKER_00 (56:05):
yeah she does
SPEAKER_01 (56:06):
iconic you got it
dude i
SPEAKER_00 (56:09):
All righty.
We got a couple upcomingannouncements here going on.
So Secret Lives of Mormon WivesSeason 2 Reunion Special July 1,
hosted by Nick Viall.
Why is he?
SPEAKER_01 (56:21):
Okay, well, he has
the Viall Files, the podcast.
You know him from SpecialForces.
I don't know why they got Nickto host this.
I'm kind of annoyed with itbecause now I'm going to have to
watch it.
But I'm super excited.
We're going to be on vacationwhen this is happening.
I might have to watch it.
But I think one time I made youwatch an episode of The
Bachelorette on vacation becauseit was like a really important
one.
Don't ugh me.
(56:43):
We also watched Game of Throneson vacation.
Same thing.
But I really want to watch thereunion special.
I've been keeping up with allthe drama on TikTok between
them, and I just really needseason three to hurry up and get
here.
SPEAKER_00 (56:56):
First three episodes
of The Summer I Turned Pretty on
Amazon Prime, then weeklyrelease.
SPEAKER_01 (57:02):
Yes, that was the
big question was, are we going
to be watching this show intoOctober if we only get one
episode per week?
But they're doing those firstthree.
I think I know where the thirdepisode is going to end.
I think that's going to be theengagement with Jeremiah and
Belly.
And then I think they'll make uswait a week and then we'll go
into the weekly release.
I am more convinced than everbefore, because they released
(57:24):
another trailer, that they arepretty much going to be
following the book.
So that is good news for us,Bonrad, Conrad fans.
SPEAKER_00 (57:34):
The Bear and Squid
Game, The Bear Season 4 and
Squid Game Part 3, Season 3,whatever they want to call it.
They're calling it Season 3.
This week.
SPEAKER_01 (57:43):
Yes, we've got...
SPEAKER_00 (57:44):
Just in time for us
to leave for a week.
SPEAKER_01 (57:47):
That's funny.
I just deleted my show notes byaccident.
Did I really?
I'm going to have to fill out.
That's hilarious.
That's why you should berehearsed.
I have a copy that I sent toyou.
Yes, so we'll probably getstarted on the bear, and then
we'll probably watch Squid Gamewhen we get back.
So most likely when you guys getthose episodes, we'll probably
(58:08):
have one that will focus on thebear.
We all know how well thoseepisodes do.
SPEAKER_00 (58:12):
And then we'll have
the squid game.
We'll probably talk...
Because both of those shows comeout all at once.
We'll probably spend one episodeto talk about Just the Bear and
we'll talk about...
Squid Game in another episode.
And then we'll kind of get backto more of the weekly release
stuff as July kind of progressesforward.
SPEAKER_01 (58:29):
And do you want to
explain kind of how we might be
now?
We could if we vibe check it andwe want to do it how we've
always done it.
We might go back to that.
But do you want to explain likehow we might be doing the
podcast going forward?
SPEAKER_00 (58:39):
So weekly release is
great and fun, except it's
really stressful.
We don't get paid doing this.
We don't get paid doing this.
And also, you know...
We found by looking at some ofour metrics for the podcast that
we'll have episodes where we'rereally not talking about
anything like we're not talkingabout a premiere.
We're not talking about afinale.
(59:00):
We're just kind of talking abouta bunch of shows, one episode at
a time that are in the middle oftheir run.
And those just don't seem to beepisodes that people are
listening to as much.
So we're going to go more like
SPEAKER_01 (59:10):
a premiere.
SPEAKER_00 (59:20):
a talk about a show
in its entirety for an episode
or at least a finale and kind ofdo a wrap up as opposed to this
week to week And
SPEAKER_01 (59:28):
again, we might
still do that.
It just really depends.
I know there's a lot of goodmovies coming out soon that
we're going to see.
I know we're probably watch TV,but we do talk about movies.
Let's see.
We've got Superman coming out.
We've got the, I know what youdid last summer, uh, kind of
reboot sequel, I guess three, ifyou wanted to call it that I'm
excited for that.
You're going to watch it.
Uh, fantastic for coming out.
So there's a lot of good moviescoming up,
SPEAKER_00 (59:48):
but the way, yeah,
just, but the way that content
has been coming out over thelast year or so has just left us
with gaps and we've been tryingto fill them with, And as we
look back at our, you know, lookback at the shows that we've
produced and look back at whatpeople have listened to, there
hasn't been any reason for us totry and fill that silence.
And so we're going to go forwardnot feeling as though we have to
(01:00:11):
fill it.
SPEAKER_01 (01:00:11):
And oddly enough,
while we complain about the
weekly release setup, both thebear and squid game, we're
getting, we're getting all theepisodes.
So that'll, that's also why it'sgoing to change some stuff up.
But while we are out next week,we do have the white Lotus
season three super cut coming.
I know.
I feel like the white Lotusepisodes, have been some of our
best performing episodes soclearly you guys like the white
lotus piper no so we'll havethat for you next week Anything
(01:00:37):
else you want to say about WhiteLotus?
SPEAKER_00 (01:00:38):
No.
And then after we get back fromvacation, give us some time, but
we'll be getting through TheBear.
We'll be getting through SquidGame.
Before we know it, Star TrekStrange New Worlds will be here.
I knew
SPEAKER_01 (01:00:48):
you were going to
say that.
The Summer I Turned Pretty.
SPEAKER_00 (01:00:50):
The Summer I Turned
Pretty will be here.
We've got a lot of stuff here inthis kind of mid-summer.
And then there's a pretty decentamount of stuff.
SPEAKER_01 (01:00:57):
Why couldn't they
start this stuff in early June?
SPEAKER_00 (01:00:58):
I don't know.
At least one of them.
And then there's some prettydecent things going on in the
fall as well.
So I feel like we're making anannouncement about a scheduling
change right as things aregetting back to a little bit
more normal but um
SPEAKER_01 (01:01:11):
we still haven't
just like that you know every
SPEAKER_00 (01:01:14):
every it's just that
every week having that on top of
us to try and get one done andand occasionally like last week
when we didn't really have muchto talk about life is hard yeah
it's just there was no reasonfor us to put an episode so
that's just what you can expectis we're going to try and do one
at least every other week andyou know go from there
SPEAKER_01 (01:01:32):
and now in honor of
vacation we're going to do
because I bet you'll never guesswhere we're going.
We're going to do a fewDisney-focused and Disney
Parks-focused this or that.
It's Daniel's favorite thingever, but because I know some of
you guys like this, so we'regoing to do it.
All right, and I'll answer, oryou'll answer, then I'll answer,
so I'll ask the questions.
SPEAKER_00 (01:01:53):
Okay.
SPEAKER_01 (01:01:54):
Tron or Guardians of
the Galaxy?
SPEAKER_00 (01:01:57):
Guardians.
SPEAKER_01 (01:01:58):
Yes, Guardians as
well for me.
Guardians or Everest?
SPEAKER_00 (01:02:03):
Everest.
SPEAKER_01 (01:02:03):
I'm going to go with
Guardians.
UNKNOWN (01:02:05):
Okay.
SPEAKER_00 (01:02:05):
I have to say
Everest.
Everest is my best, my numberone all time.
SPEAKER_01 (01:02:09):
Yeah, but as much as
I love Everest, the Guardians of
the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind I thinkis the best ride in the park.
All right.
I think I know how you're goingto answer.
I think I know how I'm going toanswer on this one.
Gaston cinnamon roll or RontoWrap?
And I mean the breakfast wrap.
SPEAKER_00 (01:02:24):
Ronto Wrap.
No question.
SPEAKER_01 (01:02:26):
The breakfast Ronto
Wrap is good, but in my opinion,
that Gaston cinnamon roll withthe extra cup of icing just
really hits my sugar fiend heartlike no other.
Thank you.
All right, next up, also in theDisney food, Lava You Float or
Dole Whip?
SPEAKER_00 (01:02:41):
Lava You Float has
surpassed Dole Whip in every way
possible.
SPEAKER_01 (01:02:45):
I completely agree.
Now, I get my Lava You Floatwith the swirl, but I always got
my Dole Whip with the swirl, too, because for that
tart-tasting ice cream, I need,or soft serve, whatever you want
to call it, I need a little bitof that balance for vanilla
because it's almost too sweet tome, but they'll let you swirl
it, and the Lava You Float iselite.
It is top tier.
I
SPEAKER_00 (01:03:04):
can even...
SPEAKER_01 (01:03:05):
Is it like
strawberry-filled?
I wish I could just get a cup ofthat.
SPEAKER_00 (01:03:10):
I can even deal with
the Pop Rocks.
SPEAKER_01 (01:03:13):
The Pop Rocks don't
really bother me.
I also think we're both going toanswer this, but I have been
asked several times by some ofyou in the Disney community
this.
I feel like you should know myanswer based on my personality.
Starbucks or Joffreys?
SPEAKER_00 (01:03:25):
Starbucks.
SPEAKER_01 (01:03:26):
Starbucks.
I feel like if you wantsomething really sugary,
Joffrey's is your place to
SPEAKER_00 (01:03:31):
go.
I feel like if you wantsomething really bad, Joffrey's
is your way to go.
And I feel
SPEAKER_01 (01:03:34):
like most people in
the Disney community absolutely
disagree with us, but we areteam Starbucks people.
They
SPEAKER_00 (01:03:39):
have more options.
We like coffee.
I like the flavor of coffee.
Yeah.
I like my coffee to taste likecoffee.
SPEAKER_01 (01:03:46):
I've had some good
Joffrey's lattes during food and
wine, but it was basicallyalmost like a milkshake dessert
drink.
So Starbucks all the way.
You Joffrey's people aresomething else.
else all right adventure land ortomorrow land oh
SPEAKER_00 (01:04:01):
i wasn't ready for
this one
SPEAKER_01 (01:04:03):
i had to trip you up
SPEAKER_00 (01:04:07):
Tomorrowland only
because of the people.
SPEAKER_01 (01:04:09):
Oh, my gosh.
It's my answer, too.
Like, I like everything aboutAdventureland better, but it is
a hellscape walking throughthere on like a hot afternoon.
So is Tomorrowland.
But Tomorrowland has the people.
Yeah.
And the people mover is toptier.
So, yeah, that's like I wouldpick that as well.
All right.
Galaxy's Edge or Toy Story Land.
SPEAKER_00 (01:04:30):
Galaxy's Edge.
SPEAKER_01 (01:04:32):
I'm going to go with
Galaxy's Edge as well.
Toy Story Land has no shade.
SPEAKER_00 (01:04:35):
No shade whatsoever.
SPEAKER_01 (01:04:36):
And I do think the
coolest thing was I think we've
talked about this before whereDisney dropped the ball several
times with building the StarWars stuff.
And the attractions, which, youknow, are fine.
They're fun, but they could havedone better.
They're fine.
I think we all know our opinionson that.
But when you walk aroundGalaxy's Edge, especially if you
do it, like, early in themorning when there's less people
(01:04:57):
in there, the attention todetail really does remind me of
just, like, the Imagineering putto good work.
I do feel like I'm on a movieset.
And like I said, Toy Story Land,if you want to roast, because
there is no shade in Toy StoryLand, it's pretty miserable over
there, even though I could arguethat I like some of the food and
rides in Toy Story Land better.
All right, this one is a toughone for you.
(01:05:17):
And you have to take intoconsideration not just the food,
the elements, everything.
SPEAKER_00 (01:05:22):
I'll take into
consideration what I wish.
SPEAKER_01 (01:05:26):
Sassy.
Steakhouse 71 or Le Cellier.
It's like picking between yourkids.
SPEAKER_00 (01:05:36):
Gosh.
That's tough.
SPEAKER_01 (01:05:40):
I'm going to say my
answer first.
I'm going to go with Steakhouse71 just because I feel like,
one, breakfast, lunch, anddinner there are just so good,
all three meals.
But if we're just doing it interms of dinner, I feel like I'm
more– now, you never know.
I might have a crazy experiencenext time.
If you don't hit Le Cellier atthe right time– or you don't
have a group of people, you'reliable to be in that place with
(01:06:02):
a party, like, right in yourlap, the way they have the
tables in there.
So if you're going to do LeCellier, you need to do it, like
– right around fireworks atEpcot.
So like it's park closed whenyou're leaving and the
restaurant starts to clear outor you need to do it with a
group of people because there'sa two-top party.
If you do it at prime dinnertime, you're going to be shoved
in.
Like we've been shoved in onlike one of the back tables, not
(01:06:22):
even the middle, where I hadsomeone's purse, some lady's
purse basically in my lap.
So atmosphere is very importantto me.
Like I said, I might, I might, you know, be eating my words if
I go to Steakhouse 71 next timeand I have somebody right on top
of me.
So you never know.
But I feel like just in general, like if I'm picturing both
restaurants like I need all theelements to work for me to
(01:06:44):
choose Le Cellier but I doreally like their the cheese
soup that's some of the bestsoup ever and that's usually
what I'll order and one of thethings both restaurants have for
them is that I don't have to dothat stupid prefix menu where
they make they make you do likean appetizer an entree and a
dessert I can just orderwhatever I want I can't stand it
that half the Disney restaurantsare going to that because it's
(01:07:04):
annoying no one eats that muchfood so and the potatoes au
gratin I really like those fromSteakhouse 71 so I'm just going
to have to give it to Steakhouse71 just for the vibes which
again I could be eating my wordsthe vibes might be off next time
I go there but from my pasthistory that's why I would pick
But it is a very difficultdecision.
(01:07:25):
Now, since I've given an essayabout why I would choose, have
you made your decision?
SPEAKER_00 (01:07:29):
Le Cellier.
SPEAKER_01 (01:07:31):
And it's because,
but are you, you would even say
that if you went Le Cellier atlike peak time, the two of us,
and you had some woman with herUniversity of Alabama purse
right next to you and her kidkicking you at the table.
SPEAKER_00 (01:07:43):
Yes.
SPEAKER_01 (01:07:44):
But you do really
like Steakhouse
SPEAKER_00 (01:07:45):
71.
It's so close.
It's so close.
I was going to say, you have twosteaks for your birthday.
It's so close.
But I think the steak varietychoice at Le Cellier is still
better.
I've now had three of the foursteak offerings they have for
dinner at Steakhouse 71.
only two of those are reallyright home about.
(01:08:05):
And me, as somebody who doesn'teat
SPEAKER_01 (01:08:06):
steak or red meat, I
feel like I have more options at
Steakhouse 71 than I do at LeCellier.
At Le Cellier, I order soupbecause I don't even think they
have a vegetarian option, dothey?
I
SPEAKER_00 (01:08:14):
don't know.
And at Le Cellier, I think thesteak comes with more of a
presentation of a meal, whereasat Steakhouse 71, I was actually
kind of surprised.
You basically get the piece ofmeat and whatever side you
ordered, and that's it.
SPEAKER_01 (01:08:29):
You're just making
the argument for Steakhouse 71
better for me.
I'm like, that's right, becauseyou can order extra sides, too.
I'm like, I would like mypotatoes au gras, and I would
like my mashed potatoes.
I would like my mac and cheese, please.
SPEAKER_00 (01:08:39):
You know, and then
there was a time in my life
where that would have absolutelybeen what I wanted, but I have
grown.
My palate has grown, and, like, the risotto that the filet at
Seleuze comes with, withwhatever kind of vegetables they
put on there and thepresentation.
I appreciate that more than Idid when I was younger.
And so that's why I'll say.
SPEAKER_01 (01:08:57):
Why did you tell me
when I was booking our dining
that you didn't want to eat atLe Cellier because you didn't
want to be in the park late atnight?
SPEAKER_00 (01:09:04):
Because I didn't
want to be at the park late at
night.
That does not mean that I don'tstill think that if I have the
energy and I want to be there.
It's kind of like how we
SPEAKER_01 (01:09:10):
are about, what's
the other, Rose and Crown, where
we love that dessert there, thesticky toffee pudding, but we
like never eat there because youcan't eat lunch there anymore.
You used to be able to.
We're like eat at lunch and thendip out of the parks, people,
because we just, ah! So thattends to be how we operate.
We are barely in the parks inthe evenings anymore.
That should be my next question.
(01:09:31):
Parks.
Rope drop or close?
UNKNOWN (01:09:34):
Rope drop.
SPEAKER_00 (01:09:34):
Oh, rope drop.
SPEAKER_01 (01:09:35):
Rope drop.
I feel like the last time wewere in the parks at close,
well, I guess when we were witha group of friends, that was
different.
But when it was just the two ofus on one of our random
vacations, it was not great.
That's when you lost
SPEAKER_00 (01:09:46):
me.
That's when you got lost?
Okay, I
SPEAKER_01 (01:09:49):
was wondering.
We're meant to be in our pajamasat the hotel by 3 o'clock,
eating our meal, watching TV,and sitting on our balcony.
That's how
SPEAKER_00 (01:09:59):
we do it.
And then the CMs, I'm like, I'mtrying to find, and they're
like, are you trying to findyour daughter?
I'm like, no, I'm trying to findmy wife.
Same height, but...
SPEAKER_01 (01:10:08):
Oh, man.
Okay.
We talked way too long aboutfood.
All right.
Prince's Fairytale Hall orPete's Silly Sideshow to go meet
characters.
SPEAKER_00 (01:10:16):
Pete's Sideshow.
SPEAKER_01 (01:10:17):
Both of these
locations have that stupid auto
photo pass thing.
But I'm going to go with Pete'ssimply because the air
conditioner in there is toptier.
Yeah, the air conditioner is waybetter.
And you're somebody you don'tmind to meet characters.
You're whatever about it.
You're with somebody like methat likes meeting characters.
But you want to cool off in theAC.
It's good.
And it's so good that we werelike, oh, I wonder if it'll have
(01:10:38):
the opposite effect when we werethere in February, it was
freezing in the parks.
It was like 30 degrees.
They were still blasting thatAC.
It was like the only place thatwasn't running heat.
Do you remember that?
Yeah, I remember.
Because we were like, I bet wecould get warm in there because
it'll be like, no.
No.
It's always cold.
All right.
Living with the land or Soarin'.
SPEAKER_00 (01:10:56):
Living with the
Land.
I
SPEAKER_01 (01:10:57):
knew you were going
to pick that.
I'm going to go with Soren.
But I do appreciate Living withthe Land.
And I love the house from Livingwith the Land.
And that house reminds me ofthat Muppet, not a Muppet
Christmas Carol, but that Muppetmovie where they go to Fozzie's
mom's house.
Muppet Family Christmas, Ithink.
Yeah, Muppet Family Christmas.
And every time I'm on that ride,I'm like, even though I know
(01:11:18):
that house is probably upstateNew York and this house is
somewhere different, I'm like, this is the same house.
And that's how it is in my headcanon.
And that's what makes Livingwith the Land so special.
So that's all it is.
Do you have any Disney this orthat's for me or did I pretty
much cover
SPEAKER_00 (01:11:31):
it?
I think you got them all.
You can't even
SPEAKER_01 (01:11:33):
think of a single
question to ask me to try to
trip me up.
SPEAKER_00 (01:11:37):
Wilderness Lodge or
Contemporary?
SPEAKER_01 (01:11:41):
That is to be
determined because I have never
spent a week at one of themwhere I've spent a week at the
other one.
If you're going strictly bylobby, the Wilderness Lodge
lobby I think is the best lobbyon all of property.
SPEAKER_00 (01:11:51):
There's some Animal
Kingdom people that would argue
with that.
Yeah, and I would say
SPEAKER_01 (01:11:54):
that while the
Animal Kingdom lobby is nice,
I'm going to say the WildernessLodge is the best lobby.
Which one do you think is thebest lobby?
SPEAKER_00 (01:12:01):
Wilderness
SPEAKER_01 (01:12:01):
Lodge.
Yeah, duh.
Anyway, White Lotus next week,guys.
Check it out.
SPEAKER_00 (01:12:06):
All right.
Thank you, everybody, forlistening, and we will talk to
you next
SPEAKER_01 (01:12:10):
time.
Door City.
