SPEAKER_02 (00:00):
What should be the
start?
SPEAKER_00 (00:02):
Let's talk about
what we're going to do for
dinner.
SPEAKER_02 (00:04):
We weren't talking
about what we were going to do
for dinner.
We were talking about who'sgoing to call the place to
SPEAKER_00 (00:08):
put the order in.
I'm peopled out today.
Because
SPEAKER_02 (00:10):
neither of us wants
to talk to any more people
except for each other for thenext hour or so
SPEAKER_00 (00:15):
or whatever.
SPEAKER_02 (00:32):
Hey everybody and
welcome to We Watch TV.
It is the podcast about the TVthat we watch.
I am Daniel.
She is Hope.
This is episode 109.
We are back.
It is July, if you can believeit.
And at least in our neck of thewoods, it's hot.
We actually went to Florida toget away from the heat.
SPEAKER_00 (00:54):
Oh, you've been
SPEAKER_01 (00:54):
itching to make that
dad joke for days.
I think there was like one daythe whole week while we were
down in Orlando that it waseither the same or it was hotter
where we were than here, whichis crazy.
When we landed in Columbus onSaturday evening, I felt like
(01:16):
Well, other than the excitementand joy.
I mean, I had the depression andsadness.
But other than that, like theexcitement and joy I get when I
land in Florida.
But anyway, I felt like how itfeels when you land in Florida
and you're walking out thattunnel and you get that heat.
Only it was welcoming me back toOhio.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (01:33):
Not as good, not as
fun of an experience.
SPEAKER_01 (01:37):
And we were on that
plane forever.
SPEAKER_02 (01:39):
Yeah.
You've got a really good video.
Maybe you'll put it on YouTube.
SPEAKER_01 (01:42):
I could put it on
SPEAKER_02 (01:43):
the Instagram.
On the Instagram.
Like, we were sitting.
Something was going on with theweather when we were leaving
Orlando.
Our plane pulled away from thegate, and then they were only
letting one plane leave at atime.
And they had to wait 20 miles.
And they had to wait like 20miles before somebody could go
again.
And it was like, what, like 10or 15 planes just sitting there
on the runway?
SPEAKER_01 (02:03):
So long.
The video I took and the pictureI took, you can't even see where
it ends, just the line of planesfrom all different airlines.
And I kept kind of nodding off.
And then I'm like, we're stillon the ground.
We haven't taken off yet.
And then finally the captain, Iwonder if they taught, he talked
to his co-pilot and they came upwith what they wanted to say.
(02:23):
Um, that he came on and waslike, Hey, and like, we could be
here.
And then he like majorlyoverestimated.
He's like, you're looking atLandon and Columbus around nine.
And we're like, what?
And I think we ended up likearound like eight ish, eight 15
ish.
So thankfully we didn't sitthere that long.
And thankfully we were at aplace where we were still moving
slightly because I've been stuckat the gate before, like the
(02:44):
coffee maker thing, where whenwe got stuck there, the AC isn't
flowing, there's no airflow, andyou're just hot.
So I don't think it felt thatterribly miserable, but it was
just like, okay, what is goingon?
Other than that, that was areally great trip.
There were some funny incidencesthat we'll get into, but I
thought it was a wonderfulvacation.
(03:06):
Probably one of the mostrelaxed...
Full blown.
We do in the summertime.
That's when we take our fullblown week at Disney.
We don't have any runninggetting in the way.
And we just try to chill.
And I think it was the mostrelaxed we've had.
SPEAKER_02 (03:18):
Yeah.
Yep.
For sure.
At least for several years.
SPEAKER_01 (03:22):
We just leaned into
the thing.
You know what?
We're just not evening parkpeople.
We'd rather be in our pajamasby, like, 3 p.m., eating our
dinners in bed.
We're
SPEAKER_02 (03:33):
barely afternoon
park people.
SPEAKER_01 (03:35):
Barely.
Like, we like to, like, rightafter lunch, we like to get the
heck out of there.
I think there were two differentnights we went to dinner.
We went to Kona over at the Polyfor dinner one evening.
Thank you.
And it was like we got back tothe room and we knew we only had
like a couple hours before wewent off to dinner.
And it was literally like bothof us so badly wanted to take a
(03:57):
nap and take a shower.
But we're like, no, we want tohave this dinner.
And then we had another nicedinner our very last night on
the 4th of July.
We stayed at the ContemporaryResort and there's a restaurant
called California Grill.
SPEAKER_02 (04:09):
Very fancy.
SPEAKER_01 (04:10):
Very fancy.
Mr.
Fancy Man.
It's at the very top of theContemporary.
You take a special elevatorThere's a dress code.
SPEAKER_02 (04:36):
I'm pretty sure we
discussed this before we even
left for vacation.
SPEAKER_01 (04:39):
I absolutely told
you like five times to make sure
you had a nice color shirt, polo, something in your bag
because...
SPEAKER_02 (04:46):
All my shirts are
colored.
SPEAKER_01 (04:48):
With a color on it,
Daniel.
UNKNOWN (04:50):
Okay.
SPEAKER_01 (04:51):
I made sure to tell
you.
This is why I try not to monitorevery packing decision you make.
And I should have known betterwhen you were going through the
shirts and be like, should Ibring this one?
This is looking like a snack.
Should I bring my people movershirt?
Like I should have been like, doyou have that shirt?
SPEAKER_02 (05:07):
I did not.
SPEAKER_01 (05:09):
He did not.
SPEAKER_02 (05:09):
So I went down to
the...
Fortunately, at theContemporary, there is a pretty
nice merchandise store.
Yeah.
And they have not just likeDisney branded stuff, but like
actual clothing.
SPEAKER_01 (05:21):
Probably for this
experience.
Oh, no,
SPEAKER_02 (05:23):
for sure this
experience.
So I went down to the store, what, two hours before, three
hours
SPEAKER_01 (05:29):
before?
It was about two hours before wehad to really start getting
SPEAKER_02 (05:33):
dressed.
And I told you, I said, I'mgoing to go down, I'm going to
find a nice...
like subtle, you know,short-sleeved collared shirt
with button up, you know, and50, 60 bucks, right?
SPEAKER_01 (05:47):
That's what I
thought the pricing would be.
SPEAKER_02 (05:50):
So minimum pricing
for the most hideous...
And
SPEAKER_01 (05:53):
I'm getting these
texts, by the way, while I'm
laying in bed.
...awful
SPEAKER_02 (05:56):
shirts you could
possibly imagine, loud as can
be, which, by the way, if youknow me, if you've seen me in
public, I'm not wearing it.
SPEAKER_00 (06:03):
No.
UNKNOWN (06:04):
No.
SPEAKER_02 (06:05):
A hundred bucks.
Minimum price.
That is the lowest you can go.
The only cheaper shirt that Icould have bought was a kid's
shirt, but I'm sure they don'thave like quadruple XL
SPEAKER_01 (06:15):
boys shirts in
there.
a little cheaper, but it hadlike, and if you're going to, if
you're going to get to a pointwhere you're spending like over
$80 on a shirt, you do want itto be something that can be like
your new vacation.
I got my new vacation, maybelike a nice work shirt and it
had like a Mickey on it.
And I was like, well, don't getthe one with the singular
Mickey.
I was like, get the plain one.
(06:35):
So you found a nice plain blueone, which I wanted you to be in
a hue of blue anyway, becauseyou know, it was the 4th of July
and I wanted, I had a bluedress.
So of course I wanted to getthis new shirt.
SPEAKER_02 (06:46):
I'll put it on.
I, I think it looks nice.
It did look nice.
I think it will, again, for thenext decade or so, it will be my
fancy vacation shirt.
Yes.
I will take it with me onvacation specifically to go to
nicer places.
SPEAKER_01 (06:57):
For once, you were
the more expensive dressed one
because my blue dress with thelight blue flowers from Old Navy
was like$15.
Yeah.
So you were the one.
It was you.
Daniel was the money that night.
SPEAKER_02 (07:07):
So we get up to the
restaurant.
We get seated.
We're having a nice time.
The food is good.
So good.
I'm really fancy because I gowith the wine that was
recommended with the dish I got.
I'm being real fancy.
We're in the restaurant.
We had to be in the restaurantfor maybe 45 minutes when I
(07:30):
dropped food on my new shirt.
SPEAKER_01 (07:32):
So I look at Daniel
and...
I see– well, you haven't eventold the best part yet, but
we'll get to that.
I see– I just look at him, andI'm like, what did you do?
And I see this splotch all overthe front of it.
SPEAKER_02 (07:46):
Black.
SPEAKER_01 (07:47):
And he had dropped
his asparagus, and instead of
just letting it–
SPEAKER_02 (07:50):
It was asparagus.
Like, it was drenched in, like,a balsamic vinaigrette kind of
thing.
I don't know what was on it, butit was deep black.
SPEAKER_01 (07:57):
Instead of, like,
letting it, like, slightly touch
the shirt and just drop to thefloor, he tries to save it.
Like, were you going to eat
SPEAKER_02 (08:04):
it after it touched
your shirt?
No, okay.
So here's what happened.
So here's what happened.
All right.
The asparagus is on my fork.
I'm bringing it to the mouth.
It drops off the fork.
And in that split moment, if Ihad let it fall, it would have
missed the shirt and hitprobably my pants onto the
SPEAKER_00 (08:18):
floor.
That would have been better thanthe front of your shirt.
But
SPEAKER_02 (08:21):
instead, for some
reason, I panicked and leaned
forward and pinned the asparagusin between my shirt and the
table.
SPEAKER_00 (08:30):
Can't take you
anywhere.
SPEAKER_02 (08:31):
Just smashing it
into my shirt.
SPEAKER_00 (08:33):
And then...
he's like trying to blot it offwith his napkin and he takes his
glass of water and tries to usethe condensation to rub it
around and it just makes itworse and spread out and I was
like just leave it alone
SPEAKER_01 (08:46):
and they're gonna
dim the lights soon because they
turn the for the they do thisfor every night because every
night there's fireworks atDisney but for the fourth
obviously they had the specialfireworks show so we're like
they're gonna turn the lightsoff for the fireworks show
anyway not many people are gonnasee you our waiter probably
already doesn't think we're veryfancy because I ordered the kids
dessert so it was Let's rollwith it.
Let's just roll with it.
(09:06):
Hey, I did not get the kidsshells and cheese.
I got the adult dish, thepierogies, the vegan option.
I'm not vegan, but I'll oftenorder a lot of vegan stuff at
Disney.
And they've ruined Mrs.
T's pierogies for me, eventhough I still like those.
They look really good.
Because they were the bestpierogies ever.
So I did get, and I got thegrown-up appetizer, the ravioli,
the goat cheese ravioli, by theway.
That was like the best thing Iate on the whole trip, by the
(09:28):
way.
SPEAKER_02 (09:30):
It was
SPEAKER_01 (09:31):
very, very good.
(10:00):
of us in mind that maybe weweren't the fanciest
SPEAKER_02 (10:04):
people.
So back to shirt drama, and Ithink you mentioned this.
Before I stained it, I shouldrecall that I saw at least three
other guys in the restaurantwith not the same shirt, but
shirts that I saw when I was inthe store looking for
SPEAKER_00 (10:18):
shirts.
That were clearly purchased atthe gift shop.
I wonder if they ruined theirshirt.
I got
SPEAKER_02 (10:23):
that stain out.
I got the stain out.
SPEAKER_01 (10:26):
When we got home,
I'm just saying I wonder if they
stained it immediately and thentried to take the condensation
of their water glass off and rubit around in a fancy restaurant
and then I haven't even gottento the best part yet so after
Daniel has stained it I thinkyou got up to see if we should
we had a really nice table y'allso like they have these big
(10:46):
windows and the restaurant youcan see the fireworks from or
you can go on the observationdeck I used my you know my rock
hard brain here and you know Iam a travel planner I can plan
your Disney vacation so keepthat in mind I'm very good
planning stuff am i not daniel
SPEAKER_02 (11:02):
you are
SPEAKER_01 (11:02):
i nailed the timing
of our reservation perfectly and
we got seated perfectly likenear a window so that we didn't
have to get up but you wentoutside just to check it out to
see how busy it was on the deckin case we'd want to go outside
and watch which we didn't haveto we could be bougie and just
sit in our seats so whathappened when you came back in
to sit down and this was afteryou had the stain on your shirt
SPEAKER_02 (11:24):
i think i was um
Yes.
Yes.
So I slide myself back in on thebench seat, and I guess I caught
(11:48):
the corner of the tablecloth asI was sliding
SPEAKER_00 (11:53):
in.
I'm catching my plate.
I'm falling
SPEAKER_02 (11:56):
off.
Not all of our plates were onthere, but we had a big jar of
water and all of our drinks, andI stopped right before– It got
bad.
Well,
SPEAKER_00 (12:03):
I had to help
because I was like, whoa, whoa.
He about pulled off.
You almost pulled off the entiretablecloth.
I'm just saying.
I think we would have just hadto get up and, like, leave and,
like, throw some money on thetable or something.
I would have just put my credit
SPEAKER_02 (12:14):
card on the table
and just walked
SPEAKER_00 (12:15):
out.
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (12:19):
And then we had to,
like, arrange everything.
Oh, another reason why we're notthe fanciest people.
We were both like, wow, this isreally good water.
Because they stink.
Like the glass, we had like ourown thing.
And it did it.
It's from a glacier in Alaska.
So that was dinner.
(12:39):
It was a nice 4th of Julydinner.
SPEAKER_02 (12:41):
It really was.
SPEAKER_01 (12:41):
Nice fireworks.
I did everything in my
SPEAKER_02 (12:44):
power to ruin it,
but I just, I wasn't, I wasn't,
it was so good of a dinner.
I couldn't ruin it.
SPEAKER_01 (12:50):
It was just, it was
funny.
It was just part of the vibes.
The vibes were vibing.
And it is a nice shirt.
And thankfully, you know, I amspill prone.
So I know that I didn't have anywith me, but we had tied like
the spray stain stuff at thehouse.
And you were able to get thatout the next morning.
Came out first wash, correct?
Yep.
So now you have a new fancyshirt for vacation.
SPEAKER_02 (13:13):
So if you are
somebody who follows us on
social media, you'll get used toit.
Because all of our vacationpictures, at least one of them
is going to have that shirt init.
I've got to wear it.
I spent enough money on it.
And now I've cleaned it enough.
I've got to wear it.
SPEAKER_01 (13:28):
And I'm getting the
messages about the pricing and
what the shirts look like inpictures while I'm laying in bed
trying to just chill before Ihave to really start getting
ready for dinner.
And then one of the texts I getis, couple in front of me is
being very handsy.
SPEAKER_02 (13:46):
I don't understand
what the store is doing.
What?
SPEAKER_01 (13:49):
No comment on the
handsy?
SPEAKER_02 (13:50):
Well, I'm getting
there.
It's a merch store, but theyalso sell fudge and stuff.
SPEAKER_01 (13:56):
Well, they have
like, there's multiple at the
contemporary isn't just one maingift shop.
They have multiple little giftshops on that fourth floor
concourse.
And the shop that you were inhas like the clothing, the
normal merch, but then they havea whole like candy section, just
like you get at like theconfectionary.
It's almost like a mini versionof that.
SPEAKER_02 (14:15):
Well, that was the
only register open and the line
was
SPEAKER_01 (14:17):
long.
You didn't get me any fudge.
And I was behind
SPEAKER_02 (14:20):
an older couple.
I'll just leave it there.
And hands were in pockets.
SPEAKER_01 (14:25):
Define old.
Because some people would callus old.
SPEAKER_02 (14:28):
At least 15 years
older than we are.
SPEAKER_01 (14:30):
I wouldn't call that
old.
So like Xers, they weren't likeboomers, right?
No, no, no.
SPEAKER_02 (14:36):
Pans were in
pockets.
Ew.
SPEAKER_01 (14:39):
In the sweaty
weather?
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (14:42):
Tank tops were being
worn.
SPEAKER_01 (14:44):
And I will say that
the dress code was not enforced
like they say.
It's going to be enforcedbecause we totally saw a tank
top man enter.
Jeff.
Yeah, Jeff, who is shouting inhis room.
I'm surprised they didn't getthrown out.
They did bring up security,though.
Did you notice that?
Security came up, yes.
After they were shouting.
Because if you have a dinnerreservation at California Grill,
(15:04):
so let's say you have a dinnerreservation at 5 and you're
done, you can show your receiptthat you dined there and be let
back in to watch the fireworksfrom the observation deck.
So they clearly came back up idon't know if they changed i
specifically like their likewebsite is like very much like
hey make sure you know youadhere to this dress code i
think that sometimes disney'snot always going to enforce it
(15:25):
they just want to make surepeople don't look like total
slobs there but you know againit's no
SPEAKER_02 (15:29):
swimwear
SPEAKER_01 (15:30):
it's up to the
discretion of the cast member
but anyway jeff and his tank topthese people just start
screaming at each other so youknow you're You know, literally
a drop in the bucket like you'reyou're saying.
SPEAKER_02 (15:42):
Yeah, I have no
power compared to Florida man,
like none whatsoever.
SPEAKER_01 (15:47):
All right.
So some other funny moments fromthe trip.
Let's see here.
Oh, we started off the trip on ahilariously funny note.
if you will we always like to dowhen we're at Disney like a
Walmart order so we can get someyou know some paper towels some
tissues I usually get some waterand some pops just so we don't
(16:10):
have to pay a million dollarsfor pop and water and everything
and for some reason you'regetting the text and you're not
even telling me what they saybecause I think we were at
Steakhouse 71 for dinner thatnight it was our first night we
were there and you weren't eventelling me what they said so one
I didn't even know that therewere substitutions I thought the
prices were expensive anyway andI was like oh well maybe that's
like tariffs or something.
I'm asking Daniel I'm like thisis a lot of money to get like
(16:32):
these tissues.
I just wanted a few boxes oftissues and I always get because
they help me with my makeup youknow I am I do have a perpetual
runny nose like 365 you knowdays a year.
It's just like we call it theBennett family like runny nose.
I don't know.
Anyway I wanted to make sure Iat least had you know a couple
(16:52):
boxes and then You never knowwhat's going to happen.
So I wanted some tissues.
I don't like the tissues thatthey give you in the hotel.
And I was like, this is reallyexpensive, Daniel, for tissues.
And he goes, no, that's what Ialways pay.
And I was like, wow.
SPEAKER_02 (17:08):
In my defense, I was
very tired.
And I explained to you laterafter it came to our senses.
SPEAKER_01 (17:15):
But I even asked you
three different times.
I was like, really?
This is how much you pay?
And I'm like, wow, prices reallyhave gone up.
So I just went about my day.
I had a nice evening.
And we go.
So we get the text.
Finally, Daniel's actuallyshowing me the text about our
stuff that's delivered.
So we have to go down to BellServices to tell them they can
send it up.
And they were waiting for us.
(17:37):
This
SPEAKER_02 (17:38):
ginger
SPEAKER_01 (17:40):
was
SPEAKER_02 (17:41):
waiting
SPEAKER_01 (17:42):
for the
SPEAKER_02 (17:43):
person to show up
with this order.
Because I get to the table andhe's like, hey, sir, how can I
help you?
And the Disney people are nice, but they aren't this nice.
SPEAKER_01 (17:53):
It was weird.
SPEAKER_02 (17:55):
And I'm like, yeah,
I got a Walmart order to pick
up, blah, blah, blah.
And he's like, what's the name?
Give him the name.
And he's like, okay, yeah, wegot you.
Can I just ask one question?
What are you going to do withall these tissues?
SPEAKER_01 (18:06):
And I'm sitting
there like, we didn't order that
many.
Like, yeah, maybe a lot.
That's
SPEAKER_02 (18:10):
the moment when I
peek behind him and I see on the
cart the 28 boxes
SPEAKER_00 (18:17):
of tissues.
27! And I go, and
SPEAKER_02 (18:20):
so I answer him, I
think somebody may have
misclicked something in the app.
SPEAKER_01 (18:24):
We could have
supplied a school classroom with
their tissues, more than oneschool classroom.
I don't know, when you were inschool, were you like, it was
always like on my list, likebring a box of tissues each year
and you get your list of stuffyou bring to class.
That's what
SPEAKER_02 (18:38):
sleeves are for.
What?
SPEAKER_01 (18:40):
That's
SPEAKER_02 (18:40):
what sleeves are
for.
SPEAKER_01 (18:42):
Okay, well, at my
elementary school, it was
always, like, required, like, bring a box of tissues.
And I come to find out yearslater that teachers ask that
because the school, like, boardwouldn't pay for tissues for the
classroom.
That's why we always had tobring one.
And then one year, I had one
SPEAKER_02 (18:57):
tissue.
Best country in the world.
I
SPEAKER_01 (18:59):
had a teacher one
year that would be like, we have
tissue on a roll.
And she would just have, say, atoilet paper out in a class that
if you had to blow your nose, you just come up and tear a
piece off.
SPEAKER_02 (19:09):
I'm not going to get
too political, but we can hand
out bombs and bullets to any ofour friends as much as we want,
but we can't...
Heaven forbid the kids have...
School supplies.
SPEAKER_01 (19:20):
I really wish there
had been a way for us to figure
out how to donate some of thetissues.
But I'm sitting there like, wedidn't get that many.
Why is this guy smarting off tome?
And you're like, and I'm like, misclick the app.
And I'm like, you told me that'show much they cost.
And then you were like, oh, Iforgot.
That's how much I usually paywhen I get tissues.
Plus toilet paper.
Plus paper towels.
So needless to say.
Plus
SPEAKER_02 (19:40):
snackies.
Plus, you know, beer.
SPEAKER_01 (19:42):
We had a variety of
tissues throughout the week.
SPEAKER_02 (19:47):
A plethora.
SPEAKER_01 (19:48):
You did
SPEAKER_02 (19:49):
not need to be
conservative.
SPEAKER_01 (19:50):
I thought I was
going to spill something at one
point.
And Daniel was like, don't spillthat.
And I was like, well, thank Godwe have enough stuff to wipe it
up with.
We have 27 boxes of tissues.
And then I did get you to agreewith me.
He didn't tell me what the textswere saying.
We had one substitution that wasjust like the worst ever.
My water that I ordered, theysubstituted for that horrible
(20:14):
Sam's Choice water.
I think it tastes like mold.
I've never liked that kind ofwater.
And you were like, you're beinga little dramatic.
Then about Daniel, after youdrink like a bottle of it,
you're like, this water isreally bad.
And I was like, I told you.
I kept drinking it.
I'd rather drink Deer Park waterthan that.
SPEAKER_02 (20:28):
I kept drinking it.
SPEAKER_01 (20:29):
Yeah, but you admit
it.
I mean, but you're the type, you'll get like, you'll throw up
off of a food and then an hourlater be like, well, I had
another piece of that, the samefood that makes me sick.
So you're an unreliablenarrator.
in that format.
Did anything else likeridiculous?
I feel like there was a coupleother funny things and now I'm
just like losing my brain.
SPEAKER_02 (20:47):
Every trip always
has something but we usually
forget them.
We don't write it down.
Shenanigans take place.
I enjoyed our every vacation wehave a theme.
We have some sort of like anongoing meme and you quoted it
this year.
It just seemed like a lot ofpeople's first day on earth
SPEAKER_01 (21:06):
was
SPEAKER_02 (21:06):
at Disney.
SPEAKER_01 (21:06):
That started at the
airport.
Starting at the airport inColumbus, Ohio People acted like
they had never flown before.
They didn't know what to do.
I'm like, oh, my gosh.
It was like everyone's first dayon
SPEAKER_02 (21:17):
Earth.
Yeah, just like, oh.
SPEAKER_01 (21:19):
And at Disney, too.
SPEAKER_02 (21:20):
What do we do?
How does this work?
We do what?
We stand and smile, and youpoint that little black box at
me, and then it saves that imageto an app, but I have to scan my
thing?
Oh, magic.
SPEAKER_01 (21:38):
I will say, though,
some of the airport stuff the
continuous changes and notconsistency I do give people a
break for that because on ourflight home I was asking because
sometimes okay sometimes they'relike everything in the bin then
they're like oh my gosh how dareyou put your shoes in the bin oh
no and then I'll be like youbetter put those shoes in that
(21:59):
bin right now girl so I was likehey I was like so do you want so
I've just started asking becauseI'm getting tired of being
screamed at and so he's at thesame airport and it's just so
intense and I was like hey I'mlike do you want me to put my
shoes in the bin or on the thingand the woman like mumbles under
her breath something she's likewhat are those shoes and I was
like okay I didn't know what shejust said so I asked the other
guy and he's like keep yourshoes on as if like why on earth
(22:23):
would we ever take our shoes offat the airport where I've only
been taking my shoes off at theairport for the past 24 years
very specifically 24 years buthis like his whole tone was like
what Keep them on?
Like, ew.
Why would you take them off?
I heard him.
I heard him.
You idiot.
And I'm just like, all right.
SPEAKER_02 (22:41):
I was sitting there
and like, I don't...
Okay.
So in my older age, I'm startingto get kind of mouthy.
SPEAKER_00 (22:50):
You are getting
mouthy.
However, however.
Especially with me.
SPEAKER_02 (22:52):
However, when it
comes to security, like TSA, or
even security getting into theparks.
You just want to get in.
I just shut up.
Because anything I say can andwill be used against me.
And it will just make my...
And my passage through thesecurity checkpoint, more
difficult if I start mouthingoff.
But I had to, like...
pinch myself not to be like whatdo you mean we aren't taking our
(23:17):
shoes off
SPEAKER_01 (23:17):
if he had just said
oh we're leaving shoes on today
and that tone I'd be like ohokay but the way he said it to
me as it was like duh you moronwhy would you take your shoes
off that's why I was so like ohand don't get me wrong it was so
nice not having to take my shoesoff I loved not having to take
my shoes off but yeah that wasweird very strange
SPEAKER_02 (23:40):
I got my bag
searched again As always.
A
SPEAKER_01 (23:44):
couple different
times, yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (23:45):
Several times.
This is the Disney security, bythe way, because they can't be
consistent either.
SPEAKER_01 (23:49):
But they're still
quick and efficient.
And they
SPEAKER_02 (23:53):
start having me undo
my belt.
SPEAKER_01 (23:55):
That was weird.
SPEAKER_02 (23:56):
That was weird.
I'd never had them do thatbefore.
They're like, take off the belt.
Let's make sure there's nothingelse under there.
SPEAKER_01 (24:01):
Maybe it's because
it was like a holiday week, but
like the crowds were the, thatis the lowest crowds we have had
since that one time we did ourvery first run Disney weekend
back in January.
Like, and I guess a lot ofpeople said last year, like the
4th of July week was like theweek to go.
Cause crowds were actually low.
And I was like, well, maybe thatwas a fluke.
Cause I was actually like, itjust happened to be, that was
the week.
Like it worked out for us bestto go on vacation with our
(24:24):
schedules that week.
So I'd always said that like, you won't catch me at Disney on
like the, a major holiday andthen now I've done Halloween
which I mean to me that's amajor holiday but I think like
4th of July like that's one thatpeople actually get off for work
so major major the only thingcrowd part we had was when we
stood for almost two hours inthe baking sun to get a picture
(24:45):
with Pluto Goofy and Mickey andtheir little patriotic outfits
and it was you even admitted itwas worth the sweat they were so
cute Yes.
It was worth the sweat.
SPEAKER_02 (24:57):
But it was awful.
SPEAKER_01 (24:59):
We were very sweaty.
I
SPEAKER_02 (25:00):
don't know why that
line was so long.
SPEAKER_01 (25:02):
I was using the
umbrella until we got under the
shade part for, like, shade.
SPEAKER_02 (25:07):
No wind.
SPEAKER_01 (25:07):
That was our hottest
day, for sure, was the 4th.
Like, every other morning we hadstarted was, like, kind of hazy
and overcast, and it would feelhot, but not, like, horribly
hot.
Like, the 4th of July, it waslike, hey, America, here's some
heat.
But that was fun.
That was cute.
I really like that.
I was like, this is like the onething I want to do today is to
get these pictures.
(25:29):
And then we had, oh, we hadquite an experience at lunch
that day.
We went to Regal Eagle, reallygood quick service in Epcot, by
the way.
And we just happened to hit uplunch when it was like in a
downpour.
We avoided most of the weather, most of the trip, but that was
one of the ones we were out init.
And this couple decides thatthey're going to come stand in
the most busy restaurant, quickservice restaurant, and probably
(25:50):
all of the park to get out ofthe rain.
You know, it's Instead of goingto see the American Adventure
show, they could have seen that.
Instead of going to a gift shop, they decide they're going to
stand and get out of the rain.
And they're going to standbasically on Daniel's lap, like
right behind him.
And you couldn't even get out ofyour seat to go get a drink.
They were right there.
(26:11):
They weren't moving.
SPEAKER_02 (26:12):
If I sat up straight
instead of slouching like I
normally do, I touched them.
SPEAKER_01 (26:18):
Yeah.
Well, she almost tripped me, thewoman.
I got up to go get some napkinsand some utensils.
and stuff and I said excuse meand she still didn't move and
then I went excuse me she stilldidn't move so I tried to get
around her and like there waslike a puddle from you know
where everyone's dripping intheir horrible ponchos and I
almost slipped and I went ohwell that was fun and then I
just like gave them the deathstare I don't know if that works
I think those they were just sooblivious
SPEAKER_02 (26:39):
yeah they were
giving me the lead paint stare
back
SPEAKER_01 (26:41):
but that food those
okay so the Disney chicken
tendies are like my favoritesand in general I think they're
like magic pixie dusted I don'tknow what was in the ones at
Regal Eagle but I'm gonna haveto go back and get me another
kids meal with those chickentendies you didn't even get to
try all the
SPEAKER_02 (26:57):
barbecue sauces
because of how chaotic
SPEAKER_01 (26:59):
I couldn't get up
there you had to it was like the
Hunger Games literally to get upthere but it was really good
food we have a new at least I doI don't know do you agree with
me I have a new number onebeverage in all of Epcot
SPEAKER_02 (27:10):
it's really good
SPEAKER_01 (27:11):
the I always usually
go for the strombo or the grey
goose slush strombos in UK andthe grey goose slush is in
France America finally doingsomething right coming through
for us and taken the dub forwhat was the frozen black cherry
bourbon lemonade.
SPEAKER_02 (27:30):
The name doesn't
roll off the tongue.
I think they could workshop thename of the drink
SPEAKER_01 (27:36):
a little bit.
They should call it somethingcutesy.
SPEAKER_02 (27:39):
Very good.
SPEAKER_01 (27:41):
Like Captain
America.
Beverage.
SPEAKER_02 (27:45):
That's not any
better.
SPEAKER_00 (27:47):
I don't know.
Keep
SPEAKER_02 (27:49):
working on it.
Keep working
SPEAKER_00 (27:50):
on it.
Hey, Daniel, who's your secondfavorite Ninja Turtles?
SPEAKER_02 (27:55):
I mean,
Michelangelo, but.
SPEAKER_01 (27:57):
That was the first
time we had those.
We were walking to Italy, and Iwas, I don't know, I was just
thinking about the NinjaTurtles.
So I decided to loudly askDaniel.
You'd also had two of thosedrinks.
I know your favorite is Raphael, and I was like, hey, who's your
second favorite Ninja Turtle?
SPEAKER_02 (28:11):
That was while we
were getting gelato, which I
wouldn't recommend if you'regoing to eat it in the middle of
the afternoon
SPEAKER_01 (28:17):
heat.
Gelato is good for the eveningor like a spring day when it's
like less hot.
The pudding in the dairy andthen having to hike back to the
monorail.
It was
SPEAKER_02 (28:27):
bad.
SPEAKER_01 (28:27):
Wasn't recommended.
I normally love gelato in Italy.
My popcorn still slapped fromGermany.
The Lava You Float top tiersnack.
I
SPEAKER_02 (28:36):
had three of them
this trip.
SPEAKER_01 (28:37):
You did.
I had two of them.
You had three of them.
We had, oh, a first time in ourhistory of being together ever.
So our last day, we went in theMagic Kingdom for a little bit
on Saturday before we had tocatch our flight.
And we both just wanted, we hadthe Gaston cinnamon rolls for
our breakfast.
So we just wanted somethingsmaller, kind of a snack to hold
us over until we could get foodat the airport.
(28:57):
And Daniel's like, I'm gettingme another Lava You Float.
And I was like, really?
I'm like, I'm feeling savory.
I want some of the pepperonispring roll.
So it was the very first timeever that you got something
sweet and I got somethingsavory.
And I'm not talking about in ourmarriage.
I'm talking about in our timebeing together.
We have been together since thefall of 2003, and this is a
first for us.
That was crazy.
(29:17):
Insane.
A very
SPEAKER_02 (29:19):
good dessert.
SPEAKER_01 (29:20):
It is very good.
It's very good.
Very good.
If you guys saw my Instagramreel, maybe I'll put it on the
WeWatchTV one.
I did the TikTok trend of makingthe Tower of Terror camera, my
own GlamBot camera.
It
SPEAKER_00 (29:35):
was a
SPEAKER_01 (29:35):
hit.
I didn't know if it was going toturn out well.
And that's the first time whereDaniel's, like, smiling the
whole time on the ride.
Because usually, even thoughyou're having the time of your
life, you always have this, like, stoic face.
But you're watching me, like, flipping my hair.
And then I look at the wholevideo, and there were other
people.
They were, like, Gen Zers.
So I'm, like, clearly, you know.
being very youthful that weredoing it too that did the same
(29:57):
thing I was like oh they weredoing it and I hope that they
had the same reaction when theywatched the video like and they
were happy knowing that theyweren't the only ones that
participated in the trend and Ihope that everybody else that
watches that video includingarmpit man behind me as you as
you lovingly caught him like ohlook at this girl yeah his
armpits were like I'm trying todo this glam bot video and I
just like armpit behind my head
SPEAKER_02 (30:18):
that was a good trip
SPEAKER_01 (30:20):
it was a good trip
so much fun A lot of good meals.
Kona was good for dinner.
Steakhouse 71 breakfast, dinner.
I actually like their breakfastbetter than their dinner.
Hot take.
Those pancakes are like pixiedusted.
There's something in them thatjust makes them amazing.
And I have been like bugging youfor like two months.
I was like, I want pancakes.
I want pancakes.
(30:41):
And you're like, and I got mypancakes fix.
That was nice.
SPEAKER_02 (30:47):
It's just pancakes
are very like it's too hot for
pancakes.
SPEAKER_01 (30:52):
But not too hot for
a steak.
SPEAKER_02 (30:54):
No.
SPEAKER_01 (30:55):
Pancake, they were
amazing.
They were amazing.
I think California Grill wasgreat.
SPEAKER_02 (31:00):
I don't think I'm
wrong here, listeners.
I don't think I'm wrong here.
Steak and pancakes, not like ifI'm going to eat a bunch of
pancakes and then it's like 90degrees outside.
SPEAKER_01 (31:11):
I'll eat pancakes,
Mickey waffles anytime, no
matter the weather.
SPEAKER_02 (31:16):
But I'll have a
steak any
SPEAKER_01 (31:17):
time, no matter the
weather.
You'll drink a whole pressed potof hot coffee before going out
in the hot sun.
You'll do that?
SPEAKER_02 (31:24):
I have to have the
caffeine.
SPEAKER_01 (31:26):
You'll do that?
SPEAKER_02 (31:27):
You know what?
Give me anything.
It's
SPEAKER_01 (31:29):
got caffeine.
Anyway, the pancakes.
I need the
SPEAKER_02 (31:31):
caffeine.
SPEAKER_01 (31:32):
California Grill was
great, despite all the
shenanigans.
I think the shenanigans made itmore fun, though.
It did.
It made it more fun, becausewe're not really fancy people.
I think the last time we wentthere was over a decade ago.
And it was a great trip.
Oh, and then you realize howtall you are.
I did a Moana bail one day.
So we got my picture with Moana.
And in the picture, she and Iare the same height.
(31:54):
And then you joined us.
And you just look like a giant.
SPEAKER_02 (31:57):
Yeah.
I made a fool of myself atSteakhouse 71 the first night,
too.
SPEAKER_00 (32:03):
You did?
SPEAKER_02 (32:04):
I asked them what
something on the menu was.
And it was like, the serveracted like it was the most
obvious thing ever.
Was it the Oscar?
Yeah, there were add-ons.
You could either add on likeshrimp or Oscar.
And it didn't say what
SPEAKER_01 (32:19):
Oscar was.
I didn't know what Oscar waseither.
You asked me what it was and Iwent, the grouch?
SPEAKER_02 (32:23):
Yeah, and I'm like,
what is, I'm not going to order
it, but what is Oscar?
And she's like, oh, it's likekind of a crab cake type thing.
I'm like, okay.
SPEAKER_01 (32:30):
And then he's like,
oh, I can't have that.
And then it got, Disney gets sointense about allergies.
That's why we normally don't saybecause you're.
I
SPEAKER_02 (32:38):
have a slight
shellfish allergy, but I'm not
like, I don't look at a
SPEAKER_01 (32:42):
shellfish.
and just drop over.
They really don't want to besued because my friend, who I've
gone to Disney with severaltimes, is allergic to bananas,
and she always mentions itbecause she's a rule follower.
She's like, oh, I can't havebananas.
And they'll bring our Diet Cokesout, and they'll be like,
there's no bananas in this.
SPEAKER_02 (32:56):
Yeah, they put the
little allergy-free thing, they
put it
SPEAKER_01 (33:00):
in the chocolate
cake.
Yeah, because we got our cake toeat in the room that night, and
they put it in our cake.
Oh,
SPEAKER_02 (33:06):
good.
SPEAKER_01 (33:07):
Speaking of to-go
things for the room, Another
funny story.
We forget, and it was all comingback to me.
So on July 3rd, the MagicKingdom does the fourth.
It's all
SPEAKER_02 (33:15):
coming back, coming
back to me now.
SPEAKER_01 (33:19):
okay on July 3rd the
Magic Kingdom
SPEAKER_02 (33:21):
you said you wanted
me to sing on today's episode
SPEAKER_01 (33:23):
the Magic Kingdom
does the 4th of July fireworks
as well they do them two nightsI forgot that being at a
monorail resort that it mightyou know some guests that don't
want to go to the park might tryto come over to the contemporary
to watch because the Polynesianthat's where you can see like
the America ones that they doreally well so like they have
like wristbands and everythinglike it was hardcore but it's
(33:43):
free for all at the contemporaryand Daniel and I we weren't even
going to go out and watch likeon the floor we We just wanted
to eat our I got a buffalochicken flatbread pizza from
Kitsumpo Cafe.
It was 10 of 10.
Amazing.
We just wanted to eat our dinnerand watch Everybody Loves
Raymond, you know, a showthat's, you know, what, 30 years
old at this point, in our bedsand just be chill for the night.
(34:05):
So first off, we take anamazingly long nap and I get up
to put in the mobile order andI'm like, holy crap.
I'm like, there's no mobileorder time slots like 945.
That was like over an hour, likean hour and a half away, right?
SPEAKER_02 (34:18):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (34:18):
And I'm like, we're
just going to have, you're just
gonna I said well we I was likeyou're just gonna I'm already in
my pajamas y'all I'm like you'rejust gonna have to go down there
so he's like okay so i texted myorder and you want to explain
your experience when you when wewhen you realize like oh
everyone's here to walk becausenormally contempo cafe is chill
even even close to park closingit's not extremely busy like
(34:41):
like some of like the i feellike pop century the moderate
resorts their food courts getpacked contempo cafe is not
really that vibe as much like weeven rope drop contempo cafe one
morning to get there atbreakfast wasn't crowded at all
so we've you've never really hadthe experience that you have so
go You
SPEAKER_02 (34:57):
said you were in
your pajamas.
So was I.
Just a pair of athletic shortsand a t-shirt.
SPEAKER_01 (35:02):
Mine are more
pajama-y
SPEAKER_02 (35:04):
than yours.
I always feel odd going downthere anyways because most of
the time the only people downthere are dressed like they just
came from the park.
We're dressed like we'rehomeless.
I get down there and it's justbananas down there.
SPEAKER_01 (35:16):
I'm getting the text
updates for that too.
This is crazy.
There's so many people.
SPEAKER_02 (35:21):
Chef Mickey's is
bumping.
The little wave bar they've gotoff to the side is just packed
full of people which you can'teven see the fireworks from
there so I'm not sure what thoseguys were doing the lobby area
is all full like just opencontainers abound and I get in
line to order and, you know, ofcourse, somebody with their
(35:44):
experiencing their first downearth in the line.
What is food?
And so they were just standingthere and finally somebody opens
up the register and I'm like, Igave them five seconds.
The person said, the person, theregister person put their hand
up, said next in line.
I gave them a five count andthey just were standing there
(36:05):
drooling on the menu.
So I went around them andordered.
SPEAKER_01 (36:08):
And I don't
SPEAKER_02 (36:09):
feel bad for cutting
at all.
I gave him five seconds.
SPEAKER_01 (36:11):
Is that when you
also had the shared experience
with another guest that wasclearly...
There
SPEAKER_02 (36:15):
was another lady
down there.
She was clearly wearing like...
SPEAKER_01 (36:19):
Like doing what we
were doing.
SPEAKER_02 (36:20):
Doing exactly what
she was in, like bedtime
clothes.
Maybe not watching Raymond, butyeah.
And we kind of just...
We were both waiting on ourorders to be...
Put over in the little shelfthing and just kind of gave had
just that moment of look oflike, oh, this is awful.
SPEAKER_01 (36:36):
But then you decided
you were like, you know what?
Because sometimes when it doesget busy, the one thing about
the contemporary is theelevators
SPEAKER_02 (36:41):
suck.
SPEAKER_01 (36:42):
Yeah, it can be a
very busy situation there
because everybody's basicallyusing them.
So Daniel's like, I'm going totake the stairs.
What happened there?
Yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (36:50):
The stairs were full
of people to wash the fireworks.
SPEAKER_01 (36:52):
Yeah.
You're like, I didn't know that.
And they all had drinks.
Each floor, right?
Each
SPEAKER_02 (36:56):
floor.
And there were kids running upand down the steps.
The steps were wet.
SPEAKER_01 (37:01):
Yeah, because it had
rained.
And with
SPEAKER_02 (37:02):
puddles.
That wasn't great.
Thankfully, I only had to go upthree floors.
But it was like fighting for mylife to get back up to the room
so I could eat my pizza in mybed and watch Everybody Loves
Raymond.
SPEAKER_01 (37:14):
And I think it was
like a Thanksgiving episode.
It was.
Everybody Loves Raymond that wewere watching.
SPEAKER_02 (37:19):
Which one was it?
SPEAKER_01 (37:20):
Um, the one where
Deborah's parents are in there.
SPEAKER_02 (37:24):
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (37:25):
It's a botan botan,
but that's, it turns out they're
going to marriage counseling andRay, here's the whole
conversation.
That's a good one.
Has to keep it a secret.
So yeah.
that Raymond's like our show.
One of our shows, we realized wecannot watch for at Disney.
So on Sunday nights, for somereason, they don't air Raymond.
So Daniel and I were like, let'sget a jumpstart on squid game.
We watched the first twoepisodes of season three, the
(37:45):
final season, and then realizedthis is a vibe killer.
This is not a vacation show.
This is not a vacation show.
So if you guys are, you know, just holding your collective
breaths, waiting for us todiscuss shows, we've watched
next week.
We'll have squid game coming foryou next week because we tried
and it's just not it.
You gotta have us watch likeRaymond's.
Or just, I don't know.
It was
SPEAKER_02 (38:05):
honestly like kind
of like shocking.
Like we started watching it andI just, the more we watched it,
SPEAKER_01 (38:12):
I was like.
I forgot how like intense itwas.
I
SPEAKER_02 (38:14):
do not want to watch
this right now.
SPEAKER_01 (38:17):
No,
SPEAKER_02 (38:17):
no.
Oh, get it, get it away.
I'm
SPEAKER_01 (38:19):
trying to be in my
happy place.
We're
SPEAKER_02 (38:21):
going to finish it.
And next week's episode is goingto be heavily Squid Game Season
3.
SPEAKER_01 (38:27):
Yes.
SPEAKER_02 (38:28):
But for this week...
SPEAKER_01 (38:29):
It was a great
vacation.
It was.
It
SPEAKER_02 (38:31):
was an absolute
great vacation.
SPEAKER_01 (38:32):
Let's get into some
shows.
SPEAKER_02 (38:34):
So for this week, we
do have a couple things that we
have watched.
I think first up on the list, you've talked in a previous
episode about the Netflix showWe Were Liars.
SPEAKER_01 (38:42):
Not Netflix.
Amazon Prime.
SPEAKER_02 (38:43):
Amazon Prime.
Sorry.
And so you finished it.
SPEAKER_01 (38:47):
Yes.
I had watched, I believe, thefirst few episodes of We Were
Liars.
I was not aware that this showwas based on a book or I would
have probably read the bookfirst and then probably
proceeded to not watch the showbecause it's so traumatizing and
I was like yes I love a richpeople beachy summer drama it's
like my wheelhouse I was likeyeah like feuding families like
kind of a succession style likefamily like I just love watching
(39:10):
these rich people arguing youknow having their summers at
their beach houses it's justlike one of my favorite like TV
show schticks if you will sigh Ikept hearing about on TikToks
and was like, everyone's like,oh my gosh, this show is so sad.
And I'm like, really?
Like, how is it that sad?
And then, oh my gosh, I stayedup like all night when I
(39:32):
finished the show because I wasthat devastated, that
traumatized.
I'm like, you hear me becauseyou're already in bed.
You hear me like hystericallysobbing.
Okay.
So Daniel Watt popped in and outof it somewhat.
Yeah.
So you kind of had a little bitof an idea.
I was even talking to you.
I was like, they better notsixth sense me.
And they did.
SPEAKER_00 (39:52):
But the other way
SPEAKER_01 (39:52):
around, I thought
maybe the girl.
So the whole thing revolvesaround.
The girl whose name I now forgetthe lead of the show.
I can't believe I...
SPEAKER_02 (40:03):
Best podcast ever.
SPEAKER_01 (40:05):
Best podcast ever.
Hey, I've had a Disney brain fora week, okay?
It revolves around her.
She's Emily Allen Lynn, playsthe lead character.
And she is going back and forthbetween summer 16 and summer 17.
In summer 16, she woke up on thebeach and she ended up having to
go to the hospital.
She almost died.
But she doesn't have anymemories of So summer 17 rolls
(40:28):
around, and she's trying tofigure out what's happened, put
it all together.
And I thought, oh, my gosh.
I was like, is she, like, dead?
And they were going to sixthsense me.
And I'm like, no, it doesn'tmake sense because I've seen her
talking to other people.
Y'all, it was a reverse sixthsense.
Her cousins, the other fellowliars, and her, like, boyfriend
(40:50):
guy, dead.
just dead.
And I am so mad at myself that Ididn't put it together sooner
because it actually was obvious.
The one thing that threw me offwas that one of her male cousin
would sometimes talk to his mom,but then we find out at the end
that the mom can also seeghosts.
SPEAKER_02 (41:09):
You're losing your
touch a little bit here on
figuring these shows out.
I know! And I have evidence.
I have evidence of it becauseit's not just this show.
So in a previous episode of thispodcast, we talked briefly about
how Hope watched the movie ThatThat Thing You Do.
So what is the name of the bandin that movie?
SPEAKER_01 (41:30):
The Wonders.
SPEAKER_02 (41:31):
Okay, folks, I just
want to tell you that it took
until the end of the movie whenthey, like, when they vecked the
number one-ed it on their wrist,they said, oh, they're a one-hit
wonder, and you pause it andturn to me and be like, wait,
what?
And I was like, are you kiddingme?
SPEAKER_01 (41:47):
I was in a good
mood.
It was a holiday weekend.
I was vibing.
I've always heard that song, andI remember my roommate in
college watched that movie, andI never really paid attention to
it, and I was just enjoying it.
I still figured out Fight Club.
I figured out The Prestige.
I still have it.
SPEAKER_02 (42:02):
That was years ago,
decades ago at this point.
You're losing your
SPEAKER_01 (42:05):
edge.
I got to get it back.
You're losing your edge.
I got to get it back.
You know what's happening?
Therapy is working too much forme.
Therapy is like, just enjoy themoment.
Be present.
Why do you have to do all thesethings?
So that's what I've been tryingto do.
What my therapist says is justenjoy it.
And now I can't figure out theplots.
Thank you for that, therapy.
Anyway, this show, that show waslike.
SPEAKER_02 (42:25):
We were liars.
SPEAKER_01 (42:26):
We were liars.
SPEAKER_02 (42:27):
Sorry for the
tangent.
SPEAKER_01 (42:29):
We were liars was
traumatic.
And it wasn't, that wasn't themost traumatic part, honestly.
So they have these dogs, right?
The two golden retriever dogs.
And so at one scene in summer16, they're like, oh, we need to
give the dogs their anxiety medsand we're going to put them up.
And I had forgotten about thatplot point.
So she's remembering howeverything happens in the final
(42:49):
episode.
And suddenly she remembers.
So basically what they did wasspoiler alert again we are a
spoiler free podcast jump to thenext chapter marker if you don't
want to hear me say the restthis is your final warning they
decide they're going to burndown the house because that's
what her and like the liars herlike cousins and her boyfriend
they're going to burn down thehouse because they want the
family to get along they want tosend a message and they just
(43:10):
come up with this plan that theythink that's how they can reset
things to burn it all down soshe's running outside and she
realizes she forgot to get thedogs out and then you realize
like only ever her Thank you.
is where you see the dogs youdon't see the dogs around
anybody else in the summer 17scenes and I can't watch a movie
or a show where an animal isharmed I almost turned it off
(43:33):
and didn't even finish it but Iwas like it's the last episode
I've got to see it through soI'm like bawling hysterically
and Daniel's like I knew theywere going to do something to
those dogs because you saw theepisode where they put them in
the closet right
SPEAKER_02 (43:44):
well they so there
was like the fourth was it a
holiday or something it was thefourth of July I
SPEAKER_01 (43:48):
don't know they had
given the dog some
SPEAKER_02 (43:50):
sort of tranquilizer
yeah to keep them calm and then
put close them in a specificroom in the house and so I when
I they focused just like in thebrief moments that I was in
there the camera and and justthe focus of the show was just
enough on making you know theydid that for such a minor thing
whenever TV spoiler if they everfocus on something that doesn't
(44:13):
seem to make any sense to youwhatsoever
SPEAKER_01 (44:15):
but they're gonna do
something for me I thought the
dogs were alive and well insummer 17 because I didn't
realize that it was only herseeing the dogs
SPEAKER_02 (44:23):
ghost dogs
SPEAKER_01 (44:23):
and then they were
scenes with the grandpa that
would like still carry aroundthe ball and I assume that the
dogs were alive but really it'sjust him remembering the dogs
he's a piece of trash but Istill feel sad that he lost his
dogs and you know his grandkidswhatever so then we have it like
realized don't laugh that likewhen she finally gets her
memories back and she realizesthat her cousins died in the
(44:47):
fire and they didn't make it outlike It took my breath away.
I was just so devastated becauseI started putting it together
before.
I did put it together a fewminutes before the Vecna won me.
And I was like, oh, no.
I was like, oh, no, oh, no, oh,no.
I was like, I flipped it.
I was like, they are sixthsensing me.
I was like, because once I knewthat the dogs were gone, I'm
like, are the cousins evenalive?
(45:08):
And it was really sad.
And you know how we've talkedabout One Tree Hill before with
Clay and the Fugue State?
Yeah.
This was actually, I feel like,a much more proper description
of what the Fugue State actuallyis.
like her body it was such atraumatic memory because she
feels responsible for it thatshe would literally like have a
(45:29):
seizure and not be able toremember what happened because
that was like her brainprotecting herself so we have
that we have the generationaltrauma of it all it was a really
deep show and I was not preparedto for how sad it was going to
be.
And I really do hope they getthe sequel.
There is a second book that kindof is like a prequel, if you
(45:52):
will, about the sisters, whichwould be like the moms.
And we have the little teaser atthe end where the oldest sister,
she can still see the one son.
And that kind of explained itwhy I did see those two talking.
Like they explained like itwasn't like, oh, they dropped
the ball.
And you know how sometimes showsirritate me where they go back
and they show you stuff, butthey add in scenes?
This is not it.
(46:13):
Like, they didn't do that.
Like, you could clearly see, like, oh, I just missed that.
Oh, when the one girl wastalking to her sisters, her
sister was never talking to her.
So it was really well done theway they did it.
And I do think it really didtouch some, you know, sensitive
topics.
But it was not the fun show thatI thought I was in for.
So please, hurry up, The SamuraiTurn Pretty, because I am ready
(46:34):
for some fun.
SPEAKER_02 (46:35):
All righty.
Well...
It's that time of year again, atleast for the last...
We've
SPEAKER_01 (46:46):
been
SPEAKER_02 (46:49):
doing this podcast
for four years.
(47:11):
moniker.
SPEAKER_01 (47:12):
It's still good, but
it's just not the best thing
going.
SPEAKER_02 (47:15):
So, um, yeah, I
mean, I think we're just going
to talk about the season as awhole again, like she said
earlier, spoiler alerts, youknow, we're going to talk about
all the nitty gritty stuff, but,uh, the bear season four, what'd
you think?
SPEAKER_01 (47:26):
I thought it was a
good season.
I feel like you can tell that itwas season three and four were
filmed together pretty muchbecause it was very much a
continuation of that.
The pacing was still very muchthe same.
Um, Just to clarify what thebest thing going is, it has to
be a show that we know is goingto get another season, and The
Bear was confirmed that they aredoing a season five.
(47:48):
I don't think they should.
SPEAKER_02 (47:49):
Yeah, I'm with you
on that.
Let's just go right to the end.
Yeah.
Screw it.
I feel like it was a satisfyingend to me.
Yeah, the season ends, and Ithink that the last episode of
this season was really welldone, and a lot of people are
going to hate it.
Yeah.
Because the season basicallyended with a 30-minute episode
that was just a calm In analley.
(48:11):
In the alley behind therestaurant.
That's it.
They didn't do anything else.
SPEAKER_01 (48:15):
But y'all, it was
never about the restaurant.
It was never about the chefs.
It was never about the cooking.
It was about Carmi's mentalhealth, his acceptance of his
brother's death.
His guilt over his brother'sdeath.
His guilt that he wasn't therefor that.
The show opened in season onewith him literally, I think,
like on the bridge where I thinkMikey took his life, his
brother.
(48:36):
That's what the show's alwaysbeen about.
Like, yes, we have therestaurant in the background.
We get to meet the, you know,Bear and the family of the
Brizottos and the cousins in airquotes.
And you get to meet all thesecharacters and you have the
chaos of the restaurant.
You have all the chef scenes, the cooking scenes.
but it was never about that.
And it was about Carmi's likemental health journey.
(48:57):
And I said, one of my bigcomplaints from season three was
I felt like Carmi was the onlycharacter that had really
remained stagnant.
And then season four starts andyou can tell that he is trying,
but I'm like, is he trying or ishe just faking it?
And I think at first maybe hewas faking it, but he faked it
enough and to actually be tryingto get better and come to terms
with his mental health.
(49:17):
He finally sees his mom for thefirst time since the infamous
Christmas episode, because it'srevealed he, while he did go to
Mikey's funeral, he never likewent in to see the family.
So like he hadn't even seen hismother played by the amazingly
talented Jamie Lee Curtis, whojust nails that role.
SPEAKER_00 (49:33):
She does.
SPEAKER_01 (49:34):
And they kind of
have some, you know, closure
together and Carby still tryingto figure out like himself,
like, do I even like
SPEAKER_02 (49:40):
cooking?
Yeah.
SPEAKER_01 (49:41):
Like I know I'm, you
can be, and you can be brilliant
at something and not like it.
SPEAKER_00 (49:45):
That's
SPEAKER_01 (49:46):
correct.
And I think that's happens to alot of people.
And he, he, is he realizes, youknow, maybe this isn't, you
know, my dream and I need tofigure out, like, what do I
actually, like, want?
Like, am I only doing thisbecause– and I can relate to
that where you do somethingbecause everybody thinks you
should do it.
I've done that many times in mylife, like, and it is really
hard– To have that, like, whatdo I even like?
(50:08):
Like, just because I'm good atit doesn't mean that I like it.
SPEAKER_02 (50:11):
I have those deep,
dark thoughts every day when
it's like, do I actually likeanything that I'm doing?
Or am I just doing it becauseother people said, hey, this is
fun and cool and you are good atit.
SPEAKER_01 (50:21):
And I still feel
like Carmi finally got out of
that freezer that he was stuckin for basically all of season
three.
SPEAKER_02 (50:26):
And so this
episode...
Sid had been kind of putting offsigning the partnerships
agreement with the restaurant.
For two seasons, she ignored theDocuSign.
About midway through the season,Carmi has updated it.
And we never found out what theupdates to the agreement were.
But she hadn't been reading it.
And she'd been flirting withpotentially going to another
(50:49):
restaurant.
But she decided against that tostick it out with the bear.
And, of course, the bear also ison a timer the entire season
for, hey, once this clock goesto zero, we are out of money.
And it's day to day.
We don't know if we can keepthis place open or not.
And so the final side of it'smaking good, the beef side is
making good money.
So finally we get to this endepisode and the last night of
(51:14):
having money is over.
And like Carmi and, and Sid findthemselves outside back of the
restaurant and they have theconversation and, and Carmi
breaks the news to her like,Hey, are you going to like, the
agreement was I wanted to talkto you before you signed it.
SPEAKER_01 (51:29):
Yeah, and you're
missing some details a little
bit here.
She had
SPEAKER_02 (51:32):
found out from a
phone call from the lawyer.
SPEAKER_01 (51:34):
Yeah, because he
tried to tell her, and then
Sid's dad had a heart attack,and then Richie's ex-wife got
married.
So we had some time go by, andthen she found out from the
lawyer.
And this was your classicHallmark plot where you have the
misunderstanding.
It really
SPEAKER_02 (51:48):
was.
It's kind of points deducted,
SPEAKER_01 (51:50):
to be honest.
Where you have themisunderstanding happen instead
of communicating about it.
You just get mad about it.
So we had that.
All right, proceed.
SPEAKER_02 (51:59):
So the last episode
is Carmi saying, hey, I'm out.
I'm leaving.
I'm not going to be an owner ofthe restaurant.
The new agreement puts you andRichie.
No, Richie wasn't on there.
Oh, Richie wasn't.
You're right.
They put Sid and it put Sugar asthe two partners on the
restaurant.
And he's out.
SPEAKER_01 (52:18):
Yeah.
And so Sid's like– because Sidbasically– I hate it.
Maybe if we– the one thing wecan get out of another season
where Sid finally says, like, Iate your food in New York once.
He still doesn't know that.
Like, she's so in awe of histalent.
Like, he still doesn't know thatshe, like, ate his food in New
York, which I always thoughtthat was an interesting plot
point.
Because she's just so– like, Ifeel like, sorry, Sid, Carmi
(52:40):
shippers.
Unless they decide they want tofan service you guys, it's never
– it's not about that.
And I think Sid really shut itdown because they even had,
like, Carmi's mom ask Sid at thewedding, like– She's like, no,
no, no, nothing like that.
And I don't think this is theshow for shipping.
It's just not happening.
And if it does happen, it'sgoing to either have to be done
organically to make me believein it or I'm going to be like
(53:01):
fan service.
And I feel like theycollectively shut that down.
And she's not in love with him.
She's in awe of his talent.
And I felt like they kind ofsolidified that.
But then you see the charactergrowth from Sid where she
finally is like, you know what?
Okay, I'll agree if Richie canbe on it with me.
And at
SPEAKER_02 (53:17):
that point, Richie
had come out and joined the
conversation.
cousin
SPEAKER_01 (53:21):
and that shows the
growth between Sid and Richie
because they used to argue allthe time in season one
SPEAKER_02 (53:25):
and then yeah and
then Carmi also tells Richie
that yeah I did show up to thefuneral yeah so they kind of
work all that stuff out
SPEAKER_01 (53:32):
honestly like still
had resentment yeah
SPEAKER_02 (53:34):
yeah the talking
about the final episode I'm
realizing that like my brain isturning this over as we are
talking about this and realizingthat the final episode of this
season is kind of like a commonis like the entirety of the
season summarized into this oneepisode where it was just like
SPEAKER_01 (53:52):
I felt like it was a
great final
SPEAKER_02 (53:53):
episode oh yeah it
was a great final episode I
think it's going to be difficultfor some people who are looking
for the the chef action they'relooking for the chaos the chaos
because it's just three actors
SPEAKER_01 (54:05):
I think I like chaos
SPEAKER_02 (54:06):
it's just three
actors having a conversation is
what that last episode is but Ithink it really it sewed up a
lot of loose ends and I agreewith you they've been greenlit
for a season five I'm not sureit's needed or necessary
SPEAKER_01 (54:17):
well we have Richie
he's had the biggest kind of
character journey, but this wastime of finding the balance
between his new persona, his oldpersonality, and I felt like he
finally got the wedding episode.
where he got he just really gotclosure in that perspective like
he's he knows that the um joshhartnett oh still looks good
that he's going to be a goodstepdad to his daughter and he
knows that his daughter stillloves him but can also love you
(54:40):
know the stepdad too and i feltlike richie we had already seen
him grow and we got to see ittaken to another level yeah the
only thing i would look forwardto in a season five if they
actually had time to develop itwould be richie romance with the
one brunette girl that works atthat from the other restaurant
that's now what do they callthem a Stodge?
Stodge.
Stodge, something.
I don't know.
(55:00):
Some restaurant speak.
I don't know.
So like Richie brings her in anda couple other people.
SPEAKER_02 (55:03):
These are all fancy
restaurants that I have no
business being anywhere near aswe already discussed in this
SPEAKER_01 (55:08):
episode.
At California Grill?
Yeah.
That's one of the real, when Iate at California Grill, I was
like, I wonder if this would belike a ravioli that Carmi would
make.
And I'm like, California Grillis probably not, even though
it's fancy to us, probablynowhere near the fancy of those
type of restaurants.
But I thought from a, I'm alwayswatching from a character
perspective.
And Tina had her focused in thenapkins episode the previous
(55:30):
season and then her thing washaving the confidence to finish
that dish in that certain timeframe and she was able to do
that so she did have her shiningmoment on the show and I felt
like circling back to have thefocus on really the three mains
at the end made sense and Ithink for me I could have been
like no it's not tyingeverything up in a neat bow you
(55:50):
don't know what's going tohappen to the restaurant but I
think I could have been verysatisfied by that finale because
like I said it was never aboutthe restaurant And
SPEAKER_02 (55:59):
life is rarely tied
up into a nice little bow like
TV shows tend to do.
It was about Carmi's mentalhealth.
the trauma from his brother'ssuicide.
SPEAKER_01 (56:11):
And I don't know
what they'll do for season five.
Those three main actors have alltaken off.
They've like blown up since thefirst season of the bear and
have done a lot of projects.
I don't know what the timeframeis going to be, but before we
end our conversation on thebear, I would be remiss not to
bring this up.
So the facts, the two brothers, always some great comedy.
(56:32):
So we've got a scene whereKarmish going to where Claire
lives.
And he's basically, I think, finally going to say that he's
sorry and talk to her um heknocks on the door and not
maddie but the other fac opensthe door and he's like what he
almost has like a panic momentbecause the other guy's like in
a robe or something and then itturns out he's hooking up with i
think claire's roommate yeah andhe's like this is like i can't
(56:56):
you say it
SPEAKER_02 (56:57):
like a disney
channel original Movie.
SPEAKER_00 (57:00):
Not a Disney movie.
A Disney Channel original movie.
He's very specific.
He's like,
SPEAKER_01 (57:05):
that type of love.
And then we have some otherlines.
And then he references oneagain.
And I'm already sitting there inmy head thinking what my
favorite Disney Channel originalmovies were.
Obviously, you've got to haveXenon, Brink, and a little film
I like to call Motocrossed.
And he's like, it's likeMotocrossed.
And I was like, ah! I was like, that is one of the best ones,
Daniel.
(57:26):
Did you ever watch that one?
SPEAKER_02 (57:27):
No, I
SPEAKER_01 (57:28):
didn't.
I know you've seen Xenon.
I did not watch any of the
SPEAKER_02 (57:30):
Disney Channel
original
SPEAKER_01 (57:31):
movies.
Make a hot go boom, boom.
You've seen
SPEAKER_02 (57:33):
Xenon.
That was one of
SPEAKER_01 (57:34):
the two.
You told me you watched Xenonwith Hannah.
SPEAKER_02 (57:36):
It was
SPEAKER_01 (57:37):
probably on.
You've seen Halloween Town withme.
Only because
SPEAKER_02 (57:39):
you play it in 2024.
SPEAKER_01 (57:41):
Halloween Town is
like literally one of the best
Halloween movies of all time, the original.
Thank you very much.
But that was a great moment inthe bear.
SPEAKER_02 (57:50):
I do have one other
show note from the show that I
had typed out.
Well, no, but she was Francine.
Francie.
Francie Back.
So at the very beginning of theseason, of course, and to the
aftermath of season three, theygot their review from the
newspaper, and we got a of thenewspaper's headline and you
called it trite the newspaperheadline was the bare
(58:12):
necessities
SPEAKER_01 (58:14):
yeah that's like so
like okay let's everybody that's
the play on words that everybodywould use And I was like, that's
dumb.
Like, that's just so overdone.
And I feel like if you're tryingto be a pretentious person
writing a review, you're goingto do a little better job than
that.
I do think when it comes to theBrizottos, let's talk about that
a little bit.
They kind of, the last time wesaw them all together was that
(58:35):
crazy Christmas episode inseason two with the fork
throwing.
And you really saw kind of thebad sides of the family.
They showed that why they allare the way they are a little
bit and why they do love eachother so much.
You got to see the good in thewedding episode it was a little
bit of a calmer experience thattable kept getting bigger and
bigger I also like
SPEAKER_02 (58:55):
I like that episode
too because what it also did was
if you recall all of the timeswe'd seen them together before
we're seeing it from Carmi'sperspective were in the past and
Carmi hadn't been around themall
SPEAKER_01 (59:08):
like this for a long
time and
SPEAKER_02 (59:09):
people change and
people evolve and particularly
the is it is he dating Dee
SPEAKER_01 (59:16):
Dee he says they're
just friends I
SPEAKER_02 (59:17):
don't know Donna
yeah so you
SPEAKER_01 (59:20):
I just know him as
the guy from Better Call Saul.
That's the one Mikey threw thefork at.
I don't remember the
SPEAKER_02 (59:24):
actor's name.
Her man friend.
He had had a lot of growth andeven came to tell Carmi him and
Mikey had kind of come to termswith each other.
SPEAKER_01 (59:34):
They were fine.
SPEAKER_02 (59:36):
Carmi didn't know
any of this because he hadn't
been around and I think that wasone of the things too that kind
of pushed him to be like
SPEAKER_01 (59:42):
I removed
SPEAKER_02 (59:44):
myself from the
situation which at the time was
probably the right decision butnow all these people have
changed and I've kind of missedall this
SPEAKER_01 (59:52):
and maybe have I not
changed exactly that like even
though my skills got better Iwent to New York and I got away
from it but have I not grown
SPEAKER_02 (59:58):
yeah I'm still the
same while all these other
people have evolved
SPEAKER_01 (01:00:01):
and I need to
clarify because you kind of
jumped in when I said the tablekept getting bigger we have this
scene where Richie's daughter ishiding under a table because she
didn't want to do the stepfatherdaughter dance and you have all
the characters just comingunderneath the table to talk and
that table got bigger and biggerand bigger it got
SPEAKER_02 (01:00:16):
longer it got taller
it's very clear if you go back
and watch the set dressing thatthey made the table taller and
longer as the shot went on.
SPEAKER_01 (01:00:24):
But it was a great,
that was a great episode.
Oh, we got another little TaylorSwift wink with Reggie.
I was very satisfied.
But like I said, my finalcomments on the bear was if that
was the series finale, I wouldhave been absolutely fine with
it.
I will tune in for season fivebut I don't want them to
sometimes we have problems withshows in this country where we
(01:00:45):
let them go on a little too longand they start getting a little
bad a little stale you they goand it's at the expense of
character growth you havecharacters that backtrack their
growth and I don't want to seethat I would actually you know I
wouldn't mind it if season fivestarted off with car me only
being around a guest as a guestactor just coming in and out
sometimes and having the focusstill be on six Let's make her
(01:01:09):
the main character.
I think the big question forme...
Let's shape that.
Let's do her mental healthjourney because she still has a
lot that she needs to workthrough.
SPEAKER_02 (01:01:15):
If I were writing
the show, the biggest question
that we have to answerimmediately now that we've
gotten green-lipped for a seasonfive is time jump, yes or no?
SPEAKER_01 (01:01:25):
Yeah, I would
probably time jump it.
And if yes, how
SPEAKER_02 (01:01:26):
significant?
SPEAKER_01 (01:01:27):
I would probably
time jump it a little bit.
SPEAKER_02 (01:01:29):
And some of that is
going to depend, like you said,
on actors and contracts becausethose three actors in particular
are really blowing up andgetting them back together at
the same time because theyfilmed the show in Chicago.
Yeah.
It's not like they are on asoundstage in L.A.
or anything.
Getting them all back to Chicagoto film for six to eight weeks
(01:01:51):
could be a struggle from ascheduling standpoint.
So anyways, the bear seasonfour, we enjoyed it.
If you've been a bear enjoyer, Ithink you will enjoy it as well.
Continues those charactersjourneys on.
Let's see.
We already talked about SquidGame.
We're going to cover seasonthree of that next week.
Sit tight.
(01:02:11):
We're going to watch it.
We're going to have ourcoverage.
Don't send us spoiler stuff,please.
I've already been seeing a fewthings on TikTok, but I've kind
of stayed away from it as best Icould.
You briefly wanted to talk abouteveryone's favorite Dirty Soda
Show,
SPEAKER_01 (01:02:29):
the Secret Lives of
Mormon Wives reunion.
Yes.
So that dropped, I think, likeJuly 1st or 2nd while we were on
vacation.
And I was like, oh, let's watchthat one evening.
You're like, oh, no.
Can I please?
Can I please not?
Can I please not?
So I waited and I watched itSunday afternoon.
It was the reunion show hostedby Nick Vial, who you know
(01:02:52):
from...
Special Forces.
Special Forces.
He has the podcast, The VileFiles.
He's not my favorite, but Iactually think he did a good job
hosting this reunion show.
Not a lot was revealed,honestly, because they're
clearly keeping that stuff underwraps for season three.
So the stuff with like Jesse andMarciano and Demi and all of
that, Jesse's like, I will talkabout it.
(01:03:12):
Because basically at the end ofthe season, it sizzled that she
might have like cheated on herhusband with this guy from
Vanderpump Villa.
And she's like, that's all goingto play out in season three.
I'm like, of course, you'regoing to say that.
There was actually some otherlike sad stuff revealed.
Connor, Whitney's husband, revealed a story of his past
with S.A.
That was really unexpected.
(01:03:33):
But I think him like because Ifeel like.
I'm trying to say this assensitively as I can.
You don't hear about that from alot of males because I think
more men sometimes are afraid tospeak out on those experiences.
It's difficult.
I think he's going to help a lotof guys by telling his story.
So that was really sad, and itwas really nice to see everybody
supporting him, even when thatcast doesn't get along.
(01:03:54):
I feel like all the guys alwaysget along.
They were all watching the girlsbackstage, being all talking
together, but just everybody wassupporting him.
So that was kind of a moment inthe show with emotions, and you
realize while we see thesepeople as reality stars on our
TVs they are at the end of theday you know they are real
people perhaps the biggestannouncement was I knew it was
(01:04:15):
coming I knew I knew I was likeoh come on ABC ABC Hulu is the
same you know under the sameumbrella now I'm like give me
one of these gals on Dancingwith the Stars let's do it let's
go let's go baby not only are wegetting one we're getting two
Mormon wives on Dancing with theStars Jen Affleck not related to
Ben Affleck too too
SPEAKER_02 (01:04:35):
many
SPEAKER_01 (01:04:36):
Jen Affleck not
related to Ben Affleck,
confirmed.
That's like a whole, if youknow, you know, she's going to
be on the show.
And then I'm assuming they'reprobably going to have her dance
with Ezra because I, even thoughZach came off better this
season, I personally, I'm notbuying it yet.
I'm going to see, need to seemore from Zach.
I feel like after season one, hesaw how he acted.
And this time let's call it.
(01:04:57):
I think he was aware of thecameras.
So I'm like, how's he going toreact?
And she has to do like therumba, like the sexy dance.
Like, is he going to freak out?
We'll see.
And then Whitney are, uh,sometimes villain, sometimes not
villain.
Um, Those two women are going tobe on Dancing with the Stars.
I bet they tried to get Taylorbecause she's the most famous
one.
And she's the one that startedMomTalk and was like the part of
(01:05:18):
the whole, you know, swingingscandal or whatever.
I think she's in her protectorpiece there.
And I think she turned it downbecause I guarantee you that's
who they tried to get.
So instead, we're getting twoMormon wives.
And I'm really excited.
I think if Whitney could improveher personality a bit, I think
she could win because she's areally good dancer.
So I'm super, super pumped about
SPEAKER_02 (01:05:37):
it.
Just learn how to dance andchange.
And finally, on this episode ofthe We Watch TV podcast, Hope
announces...
The thing that she will betorturing Daniel with for the
(01:05:59):
next
SPEAKER_01 (01:06:00):
six to seven weeks.
That's what I wanted you to say.
Bachelor in Paradise isreturning at the time of this
recording, so we have not seenit yet.
We did not get Bachelor inParadise last year, and it was
very sad, very unfortunate.
They basically put thecontestants in timeout, and the
(01:06:22):
previous year, in a minute...
I had a question.
In a minute.
I'll answer your question in aminute.
I was
SPEAKER_02 (01:06:28):
going to try and be
relevant.
SPEAKER_01 (01:06:30):
You can be relevant
in a minute.
The previous year, they waitedso long to air Bachelor in
Paradise that I was watching thefinale at Thanksgiving week.
We like to watch Bachelor inParadise in the summer.
What is your question?
SPEAKER_02 (01:06:43):
Did I hear you say
at one point or another that
the...
Golden
SPEAKER_01 (01:06:48):
cast is going to be
in here too.
They're mixing the Goldencontestants with the Yunnans.
And I have heard some spoilersthat there is some intermixing
betwixt the ages.
SPEAKER_02 (01:07:00):
They're
SPEAKER_01 (01:07:02):
in a different
location.
I think the place they used tofilm at in Mexico, they're not
allowed to film there anymore.
They're going to be in CostaRica.
Wells is still going to be thebartender.
Hannah Brown, who you know fromSpecial Forces as well, she is
going to be the champagne roomperson.
What does that mean?
I think she's just going to tryto get tea from the contestants
and help with the air quotesmaking of the drinks.
(01:07:24):
I really think it's Codd.
They know how popular Hannah is,and Hannah's got a wedding to
do, and she wants to still tryto get that Bachelor Nation
paycheck.
So do you, Hannah.
so she's gonna be in that rolebut she's not like when she was
cast on there everyone's like ohmy god is she gonna be dating
I'm like no she's literally likegetting married I think in a
couple months so I think that'sI think they just tried to they
(01:07:46):
worked it out because they knowhow popular she is and she
clearly you know I don't blameher I would try to you know soak
up that Bachelor money butapparently like I think Bachelor
and Bachelorette have been puton hiatus and like cast better
people so a lot hinges on howthis Bachelor in Paradise was
always what my favorite it wasalways the one that I wanted to
(01:08:06):
watch.
I think they're going to bedoing more of a Love Island
format as well.
They're changing up the formatwith the roses.
SPEAKER_02 (01:08:12):
What is that?
Every now and then I get stuckon TikTok and I see all these
Gen Z people going nuts about
SPEAKER_01 (01:08:20):
Love Island.
I'm a mom.
I'm a mama.
SPEAKER_02 (01:08:21):
Is that where that's
from?
SPEAKER_01 (01:08:22):
I'm a mommy.
SPEAKER_02 (01:08:24):
Mamacita.
SPEAKER_01 (01:08:24):
Mamacita?
SPEAKER_02 (01:08:25):
Daniel, do you
SPEAKER_01 (01:08:26):
want to watch Love
Island with me?
No, I do not.
Because let's do it.
Let's get on that Love Islandship.
You know that we'll be watchingPerfect Match later this year
because Rachel and Clayton fromthe same season of The Bachelor
are going to be on PerfectMatch.
SPEAKER_02 (01:08:42):
I will only watch
Love Island if we get outrageous
demand from our loyal listeners.
SPEAKER_01 (01:08:47):
Everybody, tell us.
Send in your comments.
Tell us to watch Love Island.
This is the
SPEAKER_02 (01:08:53):
kiss of death.
No one will say anything.
SPEAKER_01 (01:08:57):
Anyway, I'm super
excited for Bachelor in
Paradise.
You don't hate it.
You love the season where thepoop thing was the drama.
Remember the girl didn't poopfor like 10 days?
And the next week we're like, did she poop yet?
SPEAKER_02 (01:09:10):
I have to admit that
the cast from the golden
Bachelor and Bachelorette beingintermixed with the regular ones
has me intrigued, simply.
Not even from a datingperspective, but just seeing
those people of those differentgenerations.
Some
SPEAKER_01 (01:09:28):
of the older guys
are hot.
SPEAKER_02 (01:09:30):
But at this point,
we're talking mostly Gen Z
versus X
SPEAKER_01 (01:09:34):
and maybe some
younger boomers.
I think the oldest contestantsare
SPEAKER_02 (01:09:38):
maybe 30.
That's a generational dividethat could be very interesting
to watch unfold.
SPEAKER_01 (01:09:45):
And I hope it's
SPEAKER_02 (01:09:46):
fine.
So anyways, I guess I'll betortured with that tonight.
Thank you everybody forlistening.
Like we said, Squid Game Season3 next week.
Watch it.
Tune in.
We'll give you all the nittygritty details and spoilers.
And until then...
SPEAKER_01 (01:10:01):
And one more PSA.
When you put in your Walmartorder, always make sure that you
double, triple, and quadruplecheck it so you don't end up
with
SPEAKER_02 (01:10:10):
27 issues.
So you don't end up double, triple, or quadrupling your
order.
