Posted on WebCamicafe.com on July 1, 2019 In this episode, I highlight my struggles with self-imposed excessive work demands and the importance of maintaining a work-life balance. This blog post is a reminder to all business owners about the need to prioritize personal well-being alongside professional responsibilities.

Cami has designed nearly 600 websites, provides services to 350 active clients, and manages over 200 websites monthly as a solopreneur. Just like today, when I began work at 6:00 a.m. to record this piece and tick it off my to-do list, I often find myself caught in this nasty habit of working excessively before travel. My intention is always a good one: to be so caught up that I can fully immerse myself in the experience, like my upcoming trip to DC for WordCamp US, without a ton of lingering tasks. But the reality is, my tasks are never-ending, and new ones always appear, so throwing my schedule out the window is never a good idea.
I'm pleased to be getting this podcast off my task list today, although I acknowledge I need to do better, especially since I normally record on Sundays. I was tired this weekend and took a break, and that's a positive step. One truth from my own words that resonates deeply is how I am much harder on myself than my clients are.
So, fellow freelancers, let's remember to be kind to ourselves and find the right balance in our work lives.

Intentionally Disturbing
Join me on this podcast as I navigate the murky waters of human behavior, current events, and personal anecdotes through in-depth interviews with incredible people—all served with a generous helping of sarcasm and satire. After years as a forensic and clinical psychologist, I offer a unique interview style and a low tolerance for bullshit, quickly steering conversations toward depth and darkness. I honor the seriousness while also appreciating wit. I’m your guide through the twisted labyrinth of the human psyche, armed with dark humor and biting wit.
