(00:00):
Hello, and welcome back to theWedding Atelier podcast.

(00:03):
In today's topic, we're gonna betalking about the truth about
raising your prices withoutlosing clients, because I know
one of the biggest fears thatyou have when you raise your
prices is, if I raise my prices,I'm gonna lose my clients, I'm
gonna lose my business.
And actually, this was mybiggest fear.
I remember thinking, okay, I amused to getting like 50 to a

(00:26):
hundred inquiries a year.
If I raise my prices, that'sgonna go away.
And I don't know why we havethis pricing worth connotation
to ourselves and Needing theconstant inquiries to stroke our
ego.
it's really interesting when youbreak it down and you think
about it, okay, if I get lessinquiries, what does that mean
about me?

(00:46):
And so that fear alone is gonnakeep you from raising your
prices because of whatever it isthat's rooted deep within that.
And that's why I say everythingis always coming down to
mindset, which is why it'salways good to have a mentor to
point you into the rightdirection.
Because sometimes you'll cycleabout things over and over in
your business and you'll think, yep, I know what I'm doing.

(01:07):
I'm not gonna do this, I'm notgonna do that.
And sometimes it's okay tolisten to your intuition, if you
want to stay in the same place,I'm not gonna tell you not to,
but if you're gonna ask for myhelp, I'm gonna show you how we
can help you.
So I get it.
The scariest move to making yourbusiness is the one where you
raise your prices and you havelost control, and you just have

(01:28):
to wait and see what happensnext.
But on the other side of things, while one part of you is so
terrified about the worst casescenario, you also have to look
on the other side, which is bestcase scenario.
And this is the one we usuallyforget.
Statistics say that you're gonnaremember three negative things
for every one positive thing Idon't know why this is, for some

(01:51):
reason, negativity just sticksmore than the positive, so you
can find yourself focusing onworst case scenarios, negative
thoughts, anything that is notpositive.
Nobody knows really why this is.
We just know that this datashows that you're gonna remember
negative information, negativethoughts, negative criticism,
way more than positive.
For some reason.
Negative has a huge effect on usand lingers.

(02:14):
But that just helps you becomeaware of the fact that you have
to stay in control of your life, your business, and the way that
things go, because your defaultmight be negative.
If your default is positive, then that means you have done
the work I hate saying that, butyou have done the work and you
are able to deter away what theycall the negativity bias, which

(02:36):
is like your bias, your defaultis negativity.
And so instead of thinking aboutall the different ways that it
can't work out, why don't youtry to focus on the ways that it
could work out?
Which is why I always tellpeople to take out a sheet of
paper, split the paper in half adown the middle, and then write
down all your negative thoughtson one side, and then your
positive.
On the other that contradict thenegative ones because it'll help

(02:59):
you put things into perspectivebeing wait a minute, what is the
worst thing that can happen?
And a lot of people say theworst thing someone can say is
no.
I don't know why it seems moredeep than that.
I don't know why.
It seems like it's the end ofthe world.
But when you write it out onpaper, you think to yourself, oh
wait, the worst they could sayis no.
The worst thing that couldhappen is they don't book me and

(03:20):
they book someone else, but thepositive would be.
That just makes room for myperfect fit to come right in.
Because if you guys weren't agood fit, why would you force it
to work?
And I remember as my studentswere going from three K to 5K to
seven K, that was the biggesthangup is okay, I'm not getting
as many inquiries or people aresaying no, but I am booking, but
I'm just not booking as much.

(03:41):
And I'm like, what?
You don't have to book as muchnow because you're at the point
where you have doubled yourprices.
So that means you only need halfof what you were getting before.
And if you stop to think aboutthat, I guess that's not the
worst thing in the world.
Now, on the other side ofthings, because you know I'm a
pricing girly, I'm also allabout brands.

(04:02):
I'm all about a clear vision, areally deep sense of self, and
it's not just pricing thatrepels clients, it's your brand
positioning as well.
The way that you show up, thecontent that you put out there,
who you tell people that youare.
Is your website outdated?
Is your Instagram kind of amess?

(04:24):
You have to think to yourself, what am I putting out there and
does that resonate with what'sin my head?
And so that's why we give youunlimited reviews because as
your business grows and shiftsand changes, I've had to do
pricing reviews for my studentsthat were from three K.
To 5K that are now at 10 K, andI'm still looking at their
proposals to make sure that it'ssales converting and that it

(04:47):
flows correctly and that theirwork is evolving as well as
their business has evolved.
You're not gonna show the sameimages when you are charging
three K from.
All the way until you'recharging 10 K.
That's a mismatch ofpositioning.
While you say, oh my gosh, it'smy prices.
It could be, but it also couldbe a bunch of other things, and
I am a huge advocate for knowingthe problem.

(05:10):
What really is the problem inyour business?
The first thing I ask is Tell meabout your dream couple.
And so I'm listening to them andI'm hearing them talk about
this, and I'm hearing them talkabout themselves and their
personality and all these otherthings.
And then we look at their stuffand then.
And then from there we look atthe marketing materials and it's
like, uhoh, there's a mismatchhere.

(05:32):
And just being able to havesomebody else look at your
business and tell you straightup with no fluff Hey, this is
great.
This is not great.
This is what we need to work on,versus.
Being friendly and telling youwhat you wanna hear and not
getting the result.
I will never do that.
I am eldest daughter coded to mysoul.
I will tell you, if you ask meif this outfit works, I'll be

(05:55):
like, yeah, it looks great, butif you change this, it would
look better.
That's pretty much what it iswhen you work with me.
Another thing you have tounderstand about raising your
prices and quote unquote losingyour clients, is that there is a
huge difference between losingsomeone who's just price
shopping you versus booking adream couple.
Okay.
And you have to be able to knowthe difference and not let your

(06:17):
ego get in the way, because youhave to let go of the thought
process, I need to book X amountof inquiries, or I need to get X
amount of inquiries a month.
Because when you do raise yourprices, you don't need that.
You need half of that, especially if you double them.
If you triple them, you canactually do even less.
Or if you're like, I just wannamake a lot of money.
They make a lot of money.
If you wanna hit the multiplesix figures, I'm not going to

(06:39):
stop you Live your dream.
Essentially when you raise yourprices maybe you'll lose some
inquiries.
Maybe people will say, oh, thisis not a right fit.
Actually, you're at my highestprice bracket.
But guess what?
The dream couples that arewilling to pay that.
Especially for the work of artthat you provide your
experience, they're gonna pay itand they might even pay more

(07:00):
than you could have everexpected, which is the best
feeling in the world where youhave this really high package
and you're like, nobody's gonnabook it.
And then they do.
Every time.
If you're not crying, you'rescreaming.
When it happens.
Every time in my dms, mystudents would be like, oh my
gosh.
Lord, I can't believe.
I can't believe.
Believe it.
Believe it.
It happens.
It can happen.
That's how collectively we canmake almost$3 million together

(07:21):
because booking your highestpackage is the best feeling
ever.
But if you're gonna focus onletting go of that three to 5K
forever.
You'll never gonna get to thebeautiful five figure weddings.
And I promise you as yourbusiness evolves, as your
pricing evolves, it can happen,okay?
So the truth about raising yourprices is maybe you will lose

(07:41):
the price shoppers, but you'regoing to gain your dream
couples.
You are going to be able to sayyes and say no.
You can also be the one who's incontrol and say, actually, this
isn't a right fit, but I have alist of people I'd love to send
you over.
Best feeling you went fromartist to CEO that fast.
Okay, maybe it's not that fast, but it is a process.

(08:02):
But I'm telling you who youbecome in the process of raising
your prices and up-leveling yourbusiness.
It's not just about raising yourprices, by the way, while I am a
pricing girly that is only afourth of the puzzle.
There are four parts to this, and as you come to the
masterclass that I have.
You'll see that when they're allin place, nothing can stop you
from booking five figureweddings.

(08:23):
Nothing can stop you from makingsix figures with 20 weddings or
less.
Because the pieces are alltogether.
And as you grow and change, yourbusiness grows and changes.
That's really what it's allabout.
Okay?
If you stay in the same place, don't get mad if you have the
same results.
It's that simple.
We had a student.
Who tripled her rates from threeK to nine k while working less

(08:45):
than 20 weddings, and shedoesn't even have imposter
syndrome anymore.
She was terrified.
She's like, I know what I needto do.
I'm terrified about doing it,but I'm just gonna commit for
the next 30 days.
She did, and what do you know?
She's booking five figureweddings.
Her dream was to become adestination photographer.
She is one.
Okay.
Raising your rates isn't aboutscaring off clients.

(09:06):
It's about calling the rightones.
If you're like, oh my gosh, theLord, this is speaking to me.
I'm teaching exactly how you cando this in my free class, three
steps to book 10 K weddings soyou can free up your weekends.
RSVP grab your free ticket.
The link is in the show notes, and I will see you on September
23rd at 12:00 PM Eastern.
And if you stay till the end,you get a five minute website

(09:29):
audit with me, and you alreadyknow I'm your spicy girl.
You want me on your website.
Either way, I can't wait to seeyou there, and I will see you in
the next episode.
Bye.
