In the final episode of 2020, I shout out some accounts and people who have brightened my days throughout the year with their positivity and perseverance. 2020 has seen the industry I love knocked off its feet unceremoniously yet you have all acted with dignity and grace. There has been hurt, anger and frustration to say the least, yet outwardly I have seen collaborations abound that there wouldn't have been time for in a normal year, I've seen business pivot to ensure their survival and I've seen people step out of their comfort zones to bring light, laughter and hope to us all.
To those people, I say thank you.
It has been a year where there has been nothing we could do to change what was going on and for some that has meant losing the businesses they have worked so hard for and letting down couples who have already had the disappointment of having to postpone their day. This is obviously not their fault just disappointing for all involved and we have seen the government ignore the cries for help, or fob us off with empty promises and declarations of understanding. It simply isn't good enough.
But even through all this, people have rallied round and done the best they could to raise awareness of the situation, to support couples who have been heartbroken at postponing a day they planned for so long all while desperately trying to hold on to their businesses and I think you are amazing! Your efforts are being seen not just by me but the industry and engaged couples everywhere and I pray those efforts will be rewarded, with good karma coming back to you ten fold in 2021.
