On the night of September 4th, 1978, 13-year-old Scott Fandel and his 8-year-old sister, Amy, vanished from their family’s cabin in Sterling, Alaska. That evening, their mother, Margaret, dropped the children off at the cabin before heading into town with her sister Cathy, who had recently moved in to help with the family. Later, the Fandel children were seen at a neighbor’s house, playing with friends, before returning home late that night. By the next afternoon, it was discovered that Scott and Amy had disappeared sometime during the night.
