In 1710, a British ship wrecked there in the dead of winter. The survivors—freezing, starving, and surrounded by nothing but ocean—were pushed past the brink. What happened next became one of the darkest survival stories in New England history.
But the island’s horror didn’t end with the shipwreck. Years later, a lighthouse keeper and his wife stationed on Boon Island suffered a loss so devastating, locals say their grief never left… and neither did she.
Today, some claim to see her shadow still pacing the tower—waiting. Watching.
