Sheri Davidson (00:20):
Hello, wellness adventurist, welcome back to
another episode of the WellnessInspired Podcast, a place where
we explore health as anadventure messy, beautiful and
totally worth it.
I'm your host, sherry Davidson.
I'm a wellness coach, trailrunner and former interior
designer in Houston, texas, andI am deeply passionate about
health and wellbeing.
And, as always, I'm here withmy co-host, finn.

(00:42):
And if you're new to thepodcast, finn is my terrier mix,
rescue dog, trail runner andloyal companion.
He is also a therapy dog andgreeter at Element 5 Acupuncture
and Wellness.
And today we're bringing you alittle segment I like to call
Did you Know, a segment where weexplore surprising
research-backed insights andconnect the dots between

(01:04):
everyday habits and deeperwellness.
Think of it as a spark for yourcuriosity, a chance to learn
something new, reframe what youthought you knew or maybe shift
the way you show up for yourselftoday.
No fluff, just grounded factswith a little inspiration.
All right, let's jump in.
Did you know?

(01:36):
Motivation is a mood and not astrategy.
Let that sink in for a second.
We tend to treat motivationlike it's the magic ingredient
for change, like if we just feelit hard enough, we'll finally
start that workout routine, eatmore vegetables or get to bed on
time.
But here's the truth Motivationis flaky.

(01:59):
It's like that friend who hypesyou up for a weekend hike and
then cancels the morning ofbecause it's too cloudy.
It feels exciting until itdoesn't, and that's because
motivation is an emotion.
It comes and goes.
It's affected by your sleep, your hormones, your calendar,
your Instagram feed and thephase of the moon, if you're

(02:21):
into that.
So if we're building ourwellness habits on motivation
alone, we're building on sand.
What actually works, especiallywhen life gets messy, is
structure, simple, clear,flexible structure.
And what does that look like?
Well, it might look likesetting out your walking shoes

(02:42):
before bed so your morning braindoesn't have to think.
Scheduling a 10 minute stretchafter your lunch break every
Thursday, putting a sticky noteon your water bottle that says
you get grumpy when you're dry.
This is how habits stick, notbecause you're feeling it, but
because you made it easier toshow up without the drama.
And when your structuresupports you, guess what sneaks

(03:05):
back in Motivation.
It returns, not because youwaited for it, but because you
moved without it.
So here's your wellness sparkfor today.
Where are you relying onmotivation when what you really
need is a little structure?
Think small, think doable,think repeatable.
And if this made you nod orlaugh, share it with a friend
who is still waiting for theperfect Monday to start.

(03:27):
Until next time, keep exploring, keep discovering and keep
moving towards a healthier, moreadventurous life.
