Channel 3 is the future welcome crew to Warrior 3A
Channel 3 podcast where we take a a guest that we had on not
(00:33):
long ago because Dan forgot how spreadsheets work and brain
farted and went and searched forThunder Pump.
And I was like, oh, we need to get a second Thunder Pump
episode in and didn't search forThunder because that's how he
logged it the second time. So yeah, we're, we're we're
back. But anyway, I'm Dan Ray, Ray's
here with me. Ray, say hi.
So wait now, so, so first, firstyou can't surf states.
(00:55):
Now you're introducing, you're introducing guests.
Like what? What?
What am I even doing? Here I'm jumping on the grenade
so I can diffuse whatever you'regoing to come at me with I.
Mean whatever, I guess. I guess Thunder pump's here.
Hi. What's up, everybody?
Thunder, Thunder pump, whatever you want to call him, He's back.
He's back for a three-point O, right?
So 3. Point O is that it has to be
(01:15):
different, right? Is this the first?
The first 3 point O. This is the first straight.
This is the first straight three, that's for sure.
Because we've had like, juggle, like, like, Spiegel's been on a
couple of stuff and like, Joel'sbeen on like.
Joel was on the third stuff, Joel was on 1/3 time but but
(01:37):
they never. No, no, that there's a fourth.
There's a fourth that Joel wasn't on for.
Yeah. We had, we had a, we had a
mailbag that didn't crash and burn before who should probably
do that again at some point anyway, whatever.
So we're going to do things a little differently today.
Thunder said, you know what, since I was just on recently, he
wanted, he wanted to change things up a little bit.
So we're going to do a little bit more of a, a quick hitter of
(01:58):
a, of a couple of themes. And we're going to start off
with a, a theme of three that hehas collected, the first three
being games that he has actuallycompleted.
And he's starting off with a Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order.
So the I this is the this is thebook club pushing you to.
Yeah, so these these three completed are like the most
recent three that I've done. But yeah, fall in order.
(02:20):
I had started it before book club on my own and then I kind
of just, it fell into the into the cracks and.
Yeah, 'cause you can kind of wander and and get lost and
kind. Of yeah, so.
It's almost metroidvania like. The match is definitely
definitely big enough to to get lost, but yeah so I I I don't
even know like where to say thatI kind of left off, but it was
(02:45):
still towards the towards the beginning of it.
I wasn't close to completion or anything.
So when it came out from book club, I decided to jump back on
it. It's already had it.
It was great like I was able to finish it beginning to end.
I don't think that I 100% of it.Let me flip.
Let's do it real quick. It it's one of the games that
(03:09):
turned me off to the collectathons.
And you didn't, you didn't find the 50th hilt for your for your
lightsaber. 5050 would be generous.
It's the eight, actually, that I.
Got a problem with. I did 100% as well.
Yeah, I. Did God?
Let me see. Let me see how many hours It was
45 hours that that that was not that bad.
(03:30):
No, but it adds like 15. It feels like 'cause you're just
going to every corner, every nook and cranny and like, oh, I
see a corner over there, I know some dumb little Knick knack is
hiding over there. Or like, is this a Knick knack
direction I got to hit or is this an actual game story
progression direction I'm going to hit?
Let's see which one it's going to be.
But you did it all. That's impressive.
(03:51):
Yeah, and I and I, I, I did use some guideline or some online
guides and stuff to find certainthings, but for the most part,
like I, I did it, did it all on my own without.
You so that's OK to that's OK totidy up a few loose ends because
again, like the game, the the the stuff's just everywhere you
(04:14):
got. Yeah, when you get hidden stuff
everywhere for sure. So, so narratively, how was how
was the how was it? I like Kyle's story.
I I have the second one. I have not cracked it open yet.
And then it I mean, obviously it's cool to to see Vader in
there and then that boss fight towards the end before him.
(04:35):
I thought it was they they definitely ramped up the
difficulty when it came came to that boss fight towards the end.
Took me a few times. How how did you feel with the
combat throughout the game? Did did it get you difficult?
Did you play on like normal? You played on like story mode?
Yeah, I played, I played normal.I feel like it's any, it's, it's
similar to so other games that have similar combat style.
(04:59):
I, I found myself being defensive more than offensive,
like the using the push and and stuff like that to get away.
I do think they did really a really good job as far as the
pace of upgrading. Like you didn't feel like you
got stuck at a point like, oh, Ineed to have this in order to
(05:20):
move on. You never.
You never felt like you were short in item.
You never felt like I have to, Ihave to go backtracking out of
this area now that I'm finally ready for it type of thing.
So a game that's expanding Star Wars, you know, a game expanding
into Star Wars. Is it like is Star Wars a a you
thing or or is this just something like oh this is a game
(05:41):
I just have to play? I know, I mean, I'm, I would say
that I'm interested in Star Wars.
I'm not like a huge, like, I'm not like a huge like super fan.
I mean, obviously I, I grew up with the, the original trilogy
and I, I don't mind the other trilogies.
(06:01):
As far as video games, though, I, the only other Star Wars game
that I've played is the pod racing.
And then just recently the Skywalker saga, the Lego one,
which I, I hated, to be honest. But yeah, I, I, I thought it was
a great story. Like I said, I, I Cal Cal's
character does interest me. It it's just, it's, it's the
(06:26):
fact that he's kind of like teetering light side, dark side
is, is kind of what interests me.
You you may want to check out since you have not since you
have that that gap in there as far as Star Wars goes, if you
can handle the graphics going back to the the PS2, PS3 era,
the force unleashed games, you know, they they don't fall into
(06:48):
like, oh, this one. You can see like, oh, this, this
can fall in between Star Wars stories and fall into Canon.
No problem. Force unleash is just kind of
its own thing now, But that might be a that might be a
worthwhile game for you to checkout too.
That's again, if you can tolerate the the look of it at
this point, because this game isalso beautiful.
Like this is a game where like, oh, I'm in Star Wars.
(07:09):
Yeah, feel it. Force Unleash hold on you play
it on the Wii, get your you get your motion controls thing with
that one. That's that's the right way to
play Force Unleashed. Dan, don't shake your head.
That's not what I'm shaking my head at because.
The Wii wasn't good. He's he's shaking his head as a
just not right there as. A kid being dragged away by the
(07:30):
dog in the background. I'm I'm enjoying this a lot
actually. No, you know what I didn't?
I did not play Force Unleashed because you you you follow the
the Nintendo rule started with the Wii of you never play a
third party game on Nintendo that you don't have to hold.
On a SEC, no motion controls made it different for that one
first. Certain ones there were there.
(07:50):
You're right though, there were.I remember I played, I don't
know why we played it, but we got it might have been like NBA,
like my remember 2K something. I think.
I think I might have been still playing like the NBA Live games.
And I remembered playing one on the Wii and thinking, why is
this game so much easier on the Wii than it's supposed to be?
(08:11):
Like I feel like the Nintendo version is holding my hand as
I'm playing this game right now and I don't, it's like I don't
appreciate this. Yeah, they, they, they took it a
little softer, probably that that's the other option.
They couldn't because they couldn't, they couldn't keep up
with where like the three, three60s and all that of the world
We're we're heading. But they no.
But force unleashed motion controls is awesome.
(08:33):
May have to go find that somewhere someday.
Just blast lighting at somebody. So you've got the Wii Thunder.
You may want to try the Wii version of the force Unleashed,
but that's that's another one that you get you get you get
some good Star Wars, you get some good Darth Vader action in
it. And the second one's solid as
well. But the first one just feels
like it was that was just oh look, we got new Star Wars
coming out. Let's go.
(08:55):
Yeah, if it ever goes on sale, I'll definitely pick it up.
I'm I'm a huge sucker for games going on sale.
I. Know.
There's so many. I don't even, I like, I don't
even buy games in between. I was like, all right, it's
summer, OK, what games are you going to tell me to buy this
time? Then I was like, all right, it's
winter. What games are you going to tell
me to buy this time? I try and I try to keep up.
(09:16):
I try to finish them like year by year.
But I'm, I'm way, I'm going to be, I'm going to have 2024 games
in 2026. For the year, the year start
dwindling. That's the problem.
Oh yeah, I, I just finished up 2023.
I was excited about that. It's a couple months ago.
Oh man. All right.
Next game, way, way recent. Shadow Labyrinth.
(09:38):
I mean, this game, I'm still playing it 'cause I got this and
Donkey Kong came out same time and I started Donkey Kong and I
started Shadow Labyrinth. And then I played Shadow
Labyrinth a bunch and then all of a sudden I got on Donkey Kong
and then I couldn't stop and I finished Donkey Kong.
Shadow Labyrinth is a lot longerthan I thought it was going.
To be Yeah, it it really is. So every time, like I'm still
(10:00):
I'm still working on it. I just got skill checked.
So I'm stuck on like a mid boss right now.
I know that that that game is cool.
Are you are you 100% ING it? Are you like hanging?
Around I I want, I want to. It's just a lot of it.
Once you get to the end, you youhave to buy stuff, so you're
just. Collecting.
(10:20):
Yeah. So right now I'm just collecting
material and aura to to be able to to buy the rest of the stuff.
And there's that arena area. I don't know if you've gotten
there yet. So there's a couple of those
that I've that I've beaten, but I don't have enough material and
aura to to fight the other ones. But but yeah, this I mean. 30
(10:42):
bucks you're getting a lot. Yeah, it's 100 hours not.
On sale just the straight price they they.
Yeah, I had to. I had to, as you know, I mean,
obviously if you guys have seen the secret level, Yeah, the
secret level. I mean, that was the wildest
take on Pac-Man ever. And so I think it was a couple
like even a couple weeks later, Dan had said something about the
(11:06):
the game coming down. I was like, there's no way that
they're making this game. I think it maybe it was a.
It was like the. Game awards came a few weeks
later. That was when they that was when
they said like, guess what? It's not just a secret level.
Like this is a, the trailer started.
I was like, Oh my God, they made, they made the Pac-Man
thing into a game or whatever. Like because those secret level,
like they wrote those things twoyears ago or three years ago
(11:27):
basically for the, for the Raiders, like they've been
developing it for that one. They knew and they, I mean, it
was a perfectly executed plan. I was really impressed.
And I really, I really hope theydive more into the story 'cause
I was, I read into a little bit of the, the UGSF series and I
(11:49):
didn't realize how many games are technically in this
universe. Like I don't really want to give
too much away, but like just DigDug and Galaga.
Like I thought maybe those were the only two.
Then you go in there and look and it's, it's a lot.
Like, I don't even, I can't eventell you how many I'd have to
(12:11):
sit here and count, but there's a lot of.
It's weird how how they all fit in really nicely, right?
This they, it's like every everysingle thing about this game.
If you if you did it on its own or another version you would
think there's no way this works.Like this is so cheesy and and
somehow if it kind of fits everytime.
Like the dig dug thing threw me for a loop.
(12:31):
Yeah, I didn't realize what it was until like halfway through.
I was like, what am I supposed to do?
I can't eliminate. Did you?
Keep fighting them and you. Couldn't.
Yeah. So I was like, what's going on?
And then I, I think I accidentally hit the the button
that I was supposed to and I waslike, oh, wait.
And then I kept doing it. I was like, Oh my God.
And it clicked on what it was. I didn't realize what it was
until after that, but this is when I was reading up on like
(12:53):
the the story of the universe and stuff like that.
That's where I found this cool little tidbit and I told I kind
of mentioned it to Dan, but I didn't want to give it away
because I wanted to get Y alls genuine reaction.
But reading all like the the timeline.
Shadow Labyrinth takes place in the year 3333.
(13:15):
That was it really. Yeah.
I just thought that was really, really.
Cool, like the Bandai Amco. Now let's go.
Right. But yeah, so it was kind of
going over like the timeline of just the Shadow Labyrinth story
and it gets to the point where it says the puck taking the form
of the pack type, blah, blah, blah and 3333.
(13:37):
But I thought that was pretty cool to see that.
But yeah, like I said, it is so much, so much behind this.
I think it was it was like last second to last in line as far as
timeline on this on the Namco website.
Do you, do you, do you play other Metro manias?
Is this something you normally do or is this like out of the
(13:58):
norm for you? The I think really the only
other one that I that I would say that I've played is Ori if
if you wanna. But they they they do a lot of
the same stuff, like every metroMana kind of does different
stuff, does OK, some basic stuffto it.
But this was. But this one and then a little
bit of the newest Prince of Persia.
(14:19):
I played that a little bit, but I think I only played the demo
on that one, to be honest. But yeah, this is, I mean, I
this is not really my jam, to behonest.
I think it was more of the platforming that brought me into
it. And then obviously, like I said,
I was a really big fan of the ofthe episode.
So I, I knew I was going to wantto play it, but I, I thought it
(14:43):
was good. There there is, there is a point
where you feel like, Oh my God, I, I really could use this
ability right now, but you don't.
You don't get it for a while, but once you get it, man, it's
it's a freaking game changer. It's a this is it's a heavy,
this was a heavy platforming one.
There's a lot of sections. I I just, I just finished
(15:06):
through one of the grappling hook spike sections and it took
me a while to do it because you lose and they send you.
Back yeah, that's the thing I think that's the worst part of
it is there not really like there are the manual checkpoints
and stuff but I think that's thething with any Metrovania you
you get so far and there's no save auto save you just start
(15:29):
with that for you where. This one hates you.
This one hates you a little more, I think than most
Metrovanias do Like this is we're we're closing on a hollow
night levels of hate where you. Like.
Constantly, like here, do the whole thing over again.
You oh, you screwed up. You could see the ending and you
messed up. That's too bad you never landed
(15:49):
so you can start over the whole thing again.
There's one part that I just I was trying to complete one of
the levels, 100% one of the levels.
And there's a part where it's it's it's horrible when it comes
to that. Like you get so far into it, but
the way that it's mapped out, like you get stuck, it seems
(16:10):
like a a close place, but all the stuff that you go through to
get there is annoying. And then the like, the real
parts of like being puck, like the controls on that terrible,
horrible dude. Because you can't actually aim,
because aim is to move. You're really close.
It's awful. And so that, that was probably
(16:32):
my only, my only gripe. I just, I, I, there's so many,
you can go back to some of the streams.
There are so many parts on, on just being pucked that I was
getting so frustrated with. But, but I, I thought overall it
was, I mean, for the, the content that's in there, again,
105 hours and I'm still not 100%complete.
(16:54):
I think I ended up beating the game at 95 hours.
It's just there's so much to do like it so many bosses.
There are a couple of bosses that pop up twice, but I mean
every boss is is different in its own way to which is really,
really cool the way that they did that don't feel.
Too repetitive? Yeah, it's it's Yeah.
(17:14):
Amazing. For 30 bucks.
I mean, you, you don't feel likeit's that repetitive in games
like this Feel repetitive a lot.I can, I can imagine.
But they did a really good job of of not making it feel that
way. And then just the storyline too,
like the story is pretty cool, just to see how it evolves and
stuff like that. I think that's one of the the
things I'm enjoying the most with this game.
(17:34):
I love I, I think I've, I think this game's kind of made me
realize I love finding stories through items.
Like I like reading the little notes and popping up and stuff
like that. Even sometimes I'm missing like
ones in between, like I, I'll, Isit there, I'll sit there and
kind of read through and figure out, trying to figure out which
character's writing this and what's going on 'cause you got
(17:56):
like, like different little storylines within it.
I lied. I love.
That stuff, yeah, it was, it was, it was definitely a great,
a great one. Again, like I said, Dan, that
for 30 bucks, I don't know that you're going to find a a better
game this year, to be honest. Not not an indie for sure.
Like that's the thing, like getting a thought there a Bandai
and Amco produced, you know, published game.
(18:18):
This isn't somebody like, oh, let me go get the lore and and
develop from a weird perspective.
Like no, you're getting you're getting a big developer, big big
publisher releasing this thing. It's crazy.
Oh, Dan, you're Dan. Are you OK Calling this one an
indie with Bandai Narco back? No, no, So I'm saying you're it,
it's I'm, I'm specifically saying it's not like everything
else you get for like 20-30 bucks now is is like a full
indie. You don't.
(18:38):
You don't see especially. For the game out like this.
Yeah, especially for the quantity of game that you're
getting. Cause what, what was Prince of
Persia? I mean, they probably took from
Prince of Persia and said like, OK, we can't do 50 bucks for
this 'cause that that's probablywhat we knocked it down and.
I was saying Prince of Persia. It doesn't have is not this
long. I like Prince of Persia is my
standard for combat. I I think it's like Metrovania
(19:01):
combat, like I would if it's like that's that's the top level
to me now, But if this game it'snot it's not near as long like
that, like the game is quite I Iand.
That was like 50 bucks though. That's what I mean like that.
That was like 50 bucks so you're.
No, no, no, that one was shortage.
That one was less too. I didn't pay 50 for.
It oh, was it OK. Yeah, it like I pay it might
(19:21):
have been 30 as well or 40. I think I paid 40 for it.
I paid 40 and I felt like I got like like $40 worth.
It was pretty good that the DLC was 5 bucks.
But yeah, I was expecting to like 20 hours in this game and
it like I'm I I won't I won't beanywhere near done when I hit
when I hit 20 hours on this one.It's it's it's amazing.
(19:44):
All right, next one split fiction.
This was the This was a Thunder Thursday game, right?
Yes, it was, yes. It was tell me.
I have not played it. I just haven't had the time to
sit. Have you played?
You've done It Takes 2, right? Yeah, It's like that on
steroids. It's made it at home, like so
much better. Just.
(20:05):
The graphics alone, obviously there's a different kind of like
it takes 2 is more like the claywith the little, you know what
I'm saying? Like, so the graphics are going
to be a little different, but it's one of those games and I
put it on my review today. Like you think you get to a
point where like there's no way the next level is going to be
(20:26):
not necessarily harder, but there's no way they're going to
top this next level and they do.Every single, every single step
that you take is just crazier and crazier.
And just the, the graphics, the animation, the what's the word
that I'm looking for the mechanics of the game.
Like there's so many times that I'm like, the game mechanic that
(20:49):
you're using is just unreal. Like why have I never played
something that's made me do thisbefore?
Do they do the same thing as it takes 2 where every section has
like a unique mechanic to it? Yeah, every single level is is
something different and it the way that the story is written,
it's again with the the 2. The two book writers.
(21:13):
And they're completely different.
So you go to 1 and it's like fantasy.
You go to the other one and it'ssci-fi and they kind of flip
back and forth. But there's parts towards the
end where they mix and it's it's, it's insane.
Like it hands down, if you have somebody that you like to play
co-ops with that you're not going to get annoyed by or
(21:37):
aggravated with, this is a a great game.
And again, it just I, I can't say anything else.
Like there's not much that I cansay more about it that it would
make anybody want to play it. It's just it's, it's great.
If you picked between Shadow Labyrinth and this one, which
which would you pick for your for your 2025 game of the year?
(21:58):
It's split fiction. Oh, it's like easy.
Yeah, 100% is Shadow Labyrinth like it's it's it's good for a
Metroidvania, but you're not going to beat split fiction.
It's just it's such a great game, like I said, that just the
mechanics alone, every single level that you do and and the
story too. The story is great.
(22:19):
There are some parts that me andand White Thunder laugh about
that was like that. Is that really how that's
happening? Like they're just, I don't want
to give away stuff. But like there's a part where at
the ending where they're just walking out of the building and
you're like, that's it. You're just going to you're
going to walk out. You're not going to stop and
(22:40):
talk to the authorities or anything.
You're just you're just going toleave.
OK. Like nothing happened.
But they did a really good job. The voice acting was great.
Yeah, I mean it it, it's a plus all around all.
Right. We talked about 3 games that
you've enjoyed this year, Dan. Dan, start us off in the other
(23:01):
direction now. All right, well, it's time to
talk about that which you abandoned.
There's going to. Be a lot of There's a lot of
questions here. People are going.
To have people are going to havea lot of questions.
Yeah, I will raise, raise incense already because we split
these games up in a very specific manner.
And I'm, I'm going to start off with, we'll go with Disco
Elysium and I'm guessing or the RNG guys not good to you.
Is that what happened here? I just I played maybe an hour of
(23:24):
it and it's just, I can't like just didn't hook it.
No, no, like I it's probably oneof those games.
If I give it like another 30 minutes to an hour I might get
into it but I just the point andclick and the the dice rolls.
I figured the dice rolls were probably what got you.
(23:45):
I couldn't I and like I've said before, like the top down stuff,
it really it doesn't interest me.
It's on the lower end of my of my list.
Yeah, 'cause this was I, I mean,listen, I'm, I'm gonna call this
was a 91 on Metacritic. This is.
AII don't. I don't doubt that it's a great
game, I just I could not get into it.
(24:06):
Yeah, it's just, you know, the The funny thing is it's usually
the narrative that people talk about and kind of the openness
of the the way it goes. And that's just kind of curious,
was it just the RNG or just likethe the play style just got to
you? That's that's really what did.
It I think, I think I was already a little turned off
because of the play style, but then RNG on top of it.
I'm just like what it what am I even?
(24:27):
Why am I even trying at this point?
You know, this is I, I got nothing else here.
It's just, you know, you got to pour one out and move on.
And The thing is like, that's the thing.
Like not every game is going to get you.
It's just. Not I watch Thunder play another
point and click on a Thursday when you randomly paint the 1
and I watch this man get angry about not finding the gem to to
(24:48):
put it to the statue to move forward.
Which one was it? Was it that abandoned Planet 1?
Yeah, that was I watched other so speed clicking through and
just trying to scan every quarter of the thing.
So here's the thing with that, Iwas able to get through that
one. So a lot of the games that I do
for Thunder Thursday, I'll I'll see how long it takes normally
(25:12):
to beat them. If it's like a 5 hour game, I'll
do it because I can beat it in one session essentially.
But also I got that one for freefrom prime gaming.
So it didn't feel too bad about trying, you know, like, oh, it
was free. So if I don't like it, I don't
like it. But I think it was the same
thing with with disco. It was on sale or something and
(25:33):
I, I knew it was on the the summer reading list so I decided
to pick it up. But yeah, I don't, I, I think if
I probably would have paid full price for it, I would have tried
to force myself to sit through it a little bit longer, but.
Yeah, I have it for cheap from somewhere to at some point it's
like sitting there and I I know I picked that up for like
(25:54):
nothing. All right, let's go.
Second game. You got Marvel rivals here.
I I already I, I could have toldyou Thunder was going to put
this one on because we play it together.
And I was like, I know Thunder doesn't like this game.
And this this continues my my, my running theory.
I'm going to write a thesis paper that battle Royale people
don't don't like team team shooter games like the we're
(26:16):
we're we're different people. It's not even in all honesty,
it's not even that because I I feel like with Marvel rivals, it
there's no middle. It's either you're sweating your
it's often ranked or it's too easy and unranked and it's not
wrong. It's there's there's got to be
that in between and that just itthrew me at the beginning.
(26:39):
It was great. The the beta was great.
Like I had so much fun and it was so fun and it's marvel like
I, I love marvel the they and don't get me wrong, they did
absolutely great with the characters and the abilities and
the gameplay. I just think it's the the the
team based shooter aspect of it and the sweatiness of the rank
(27:01):
that that pushed me away from it.
And and it's hard. It's hard if you don't have a
six stack that you normally playwith.
Oh, it's. Exhausting.
It's absolutely. That's what's going to ask,
would it make a difference if you had a squad that you rolled
with? It. 100%.
Yeah, the. Yeah it would, but also they
they stop you from doing it too.Like once you hit a certain rank
you can only like team up with two or three people but they
(27:23):
won't even let you put a full team when when you get higher
up. I can imagine maybe that makes
sense. I'm ready to do a half hour on
the toxicity of the Marvel rivals, Reddit and Facebook.
It's you know, I don't know if it's like a like a hero.
I don't know if this is like a hero shooter thing or what not
because I don't, but it it's it's rough out there.
(27:44):
What do you what do you mean I get banned now for calling
somebody in a teen rated game blank blank blank and blank and
word I've never even heard before.
That has to be. More, you know, I'll say I I'll
say I'm still waiting for someone to actually say
anything. Banned for this whole like
monitoring chat. I don't know who's actually
monitoring. Oh, the, the the the Facebook
group for Marvel rivals is goingoff the hook of people like, I
(28:06):
can't believe I can't say I'm like, well, I can tell you why
you can't say that. Do you need me to sit you down
and tell you why you can't say that particular phrase in AT
rated game but. You know, I, I'll say, 'cause I,
I still enjoy it. I can't play it all like I'm not
playing it right now, 'cause it's, it's a time suck those
games. Like if I'm going to play three
matches, I might, I might sit, Imight be there an hour and a
(28:29):
half to play three matches like they, they, they can go on
forever. I never I don't I really hear
like the real terrible language, but I'll but I'll have somebody
like just real like real petty say, hey, the last the last game
I was in, they were mean to me. So I'm gonna sit here in this
game and screw all of you now, like, well, like people won't be
(28:54):
talking. I'll be talking like what?
What's happening right now? Like we don't know each other
and we're like, it's a random game every time.
What do you mean you're gonna sit out because the last round
with five other people that are not here right now didn't play
with you? Our healer sucks.
I said well why don't you switchto heal?
No, he's the one who sucks. Why should I switch?
(29:15):
It's a weird one. I I do love it.
I I love the game itself but it is a weird.
That adding is weird. It's one of those with the hero
shooters too. Like it's, I tried Overwatch for
for a little bit and those are the games that you have to stick
to 1 character like you and. You can't.
Yeah, you can't. Yeah, it's, it's hard.
And again, with them doing so well on the design of it, it was
(29:39):
hard for me to do that. Like I, I wanted to play with
everybody and I that's one of those games that you have to sit
there and you have to grind to get really good at it.
Like the, the skill gap on, on those kinds of games are just
insane. And like I said, there's no,
there's no in between. I mean you can do bot lobbies,
but that I mean where's the fun of that ribby?
(29:59):
I even tried it on three star just to see.
It doesn't matter that it's you just sit there and write the bot
lobbies and, and again, this is once again where like, like
right now I'm I'm very, I'm justnot playing a lot of
multiplayer, but this is the oneplace where again, Fortnite is
just better. Like Fortnite, I can like, I can
play Fortnite and have whatever purpose I want.
(30:22):
Like it can be like I'm just trying to win, or it could be
I'm just trying to sit here and like XP gather and like I feel
like whatever I want to do, Fortnite is very happy to do
that for me. 100% right. Like it's just very open to to
being whatever I needed to be atthat time.
And and that's that's the one thing that it that beats out all
the other games with battle passes and what like.
(30:44):
Yeah, for sure. And that's another thing too,
Speaking of the battle pass, I didn't, I didn't want to get
stuck into another money pit essentially and not put in the
time to to collect everything essentially.
For sure. Totally get it, Dan, move on to
this third one cause 'cause thisone's going to be a more popular
one because I think like you're here too, right?
Or. And it's, it's not, yeah, it's,
(31:06):
it's dying rapidly. That's what it comes down to is
it's. Marvel Snap.
Marvel Snap is circling the dream.
It's. Kind of it's coming up like 3
years it's. Coming up on three years.
But the last three months have probably been the the nail in
the coffin, if not just this this calendar.
Year yeah, it's and it I think for me even more so just because
(31:28):
I did I took a break, a good three month break and tried to
pick it back up. If you take a break, you're
done. Like you can't like you miss out
on so many cars. Yeah, it's it's you might as
well just start over at that point.
But even then it's it's it got to the point where it was too
much to pay to win like the streamers that you're going up
(31:49):
against that are just given cards like you.
It's pointless. It it, it they tried to adjust
the way that they give out cardsand the way that they give out
the tokens and the ladder and all that stuff, but it didn't, I
mean, it didn't really change my.
Life it might made things financially worse like
significant like it went from a game that started off fun to
(32:11):
play and like you didn't need tospend a dime and you can spend a
little money to hook them up forcosmetics and like the season
pass was kind of like mostly cosmetic, a little bit of fun.
You got a card now you got to spend like 40 bucks to.
Keep up with anything. It was, it was, it was bad.
OK, yeah. It's when I got to the second
point or second time of me quitting, I was like, yeah, this
(32:33):
is I'm done for good. I can't.
I can't. What?
What? So what was?
It was just like trying to keep up, like 'cause the first time
you took a break, what made you take the break the first time?
I I just felt like everybody I was going up against, like I
don't know how they do matchmaking, like if they're
even is the rhyme and reason, because I feel like if you're
(32:55):
going up against somebody who has way more cards than you,
like you're not going to have fun, right?
And I felt like that was happening a lot even before I
took a break or like somebody always I would play somebody.
It was always a counter, no matter what deck I had a
counter. You'd play 10 hands in a row and
they always had the counter, andthen you switch to something
(33:15):
else and then you had the counter for 10 hands in a row
the other. Thing.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
So the math, the math doesn't quite math you figure, but.
And that's another game too, where the Marvel aspect of it is
what got me into it. I this is probably the first
deck building game that I've played.
And the fact that it's mobile, anything mobile that's good,
(33:36):
always makes it easier for me towant to play 'cause I can just
grab it and go like I don't. Obviously Fortnite is mobile,
but not as mobile as this game was.
So I don't, I only play Fortniteat home on my PC.
But with Snap, it was easy, justlike I said in the car waiting
for kids at school. Like I could just pick it up and
(33:58):
and do a couple matches. But yeah, it got to that point
where I was just like, it's not enjoyable.
And I, I know that a lot of people will agree with it
because the times that I again, going back to the whole Reddit
thing, like you see so many complaints on Reddit, so many
complaints on Discord. And they they tried, they tried
their best to please everybody, But I feel like it's one of
(34:20):
those where they're just catering to the big boys.
Yep, wherever the wherever the wheels are, so be it.
All right, section. Three Section 3, we got the
backlog. We, we try to figure out what to
play next because we got I've got I've got a rise right here
(34:41):
as the, as the first game on thelist.
And I, I, I'm aware that I'm waybigger on a rise and I think
than everyone else's, But this game, this game hit me in a way
that like I'm never going to forget about.
And so it's like 4 hours. This.
Is this is me saying just turn it on and play?
(35:01):
So these three games are are games that I've started to play,
but they just kind of have been put on the back burner because
they're not the main games that I play, but they're games that I
really liked. So I do want to get back to
them. Arise You could already feel the
emotion from like the first couple of levels, Like they do a
(35:24):
really good job at portraying that.
And I I really it's it's weird that I I really enjoy emotional
games like never. And what's the other one like?
I really, I really enjoy those emotional type games and like I
(35:47):
said, right off the bat, you canfeel it and the gameplay is
cool. It's not super difficult, easy
to follow. The graphics are, I mean,
they're obviously cartoony, but they're not bad either.
But it is a game that I want to get back into and I know that
it's pretty popular on the site with the people that have played
it. Yeah, I want to get get into
(36:08):
that one for sure once all theseother ones kind of die down.
And it it doesn't help that theykeep coming out with really good
games that they want to play. And it's like I, I want to get
to it, but this one looks a little bit better and then I
want to get to that, but this one looks a little bit better.
And then there's a couple that we'll get to here in a little
bit, but there's one on that list that I'm 100% waiting for.
(36:30):
And so I just kind of keeps putting those back and back and
back. Yeah, it's.
It's I'm with you there. I feel like every year like they
we we're putting out more games that that are like games that
I'm interested in. And I was like, how?
I don't know. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to
keep up. Yeah, and.
(36:52):
All these games coming out. And, and I blame it on the site,
but in a good way. Like I just, I, I was never
literally never. It was just Fortnite like that
was my son got me into it after I took a huge hiatus from
gaming. And that's all I, that's all I
did was Fortnite, Fortnite, Fortnite with boys and with
everything and getting on the side.
(37:12):
It just, it changed all of that. There are places I've seen the
the Greece's, the Nevas of the world.
I I don't know anywhere else that I would have ended up
finding a rise to this day that besides Channel 3, like
wondering there's there's nowhere else.
I'm like, Oh yeah, look, some other, some other page, some
other group, some other area speaks of, speaks of a rise or
(37:33):
even the soundtrack or whatever with it.
No, not a not a peep of it anywhere.
Like that's, that's the nice thing.
Like at least we sort through the garbage for me, 'cause
there's there are too many gamesreleased.
You can. Thank you can thank the steam
the steam sale for. For this one.
'Cause I know I bought it as a giant pack of games on a winter
sale and this was like the bottom of the pack that I just
(37:55):
happened. To just bring along.
I I bought it. I bought it for, I don't even
know for something else. I know for a fact I was another
game I wanted and they were likeand like these three you can get
2 for like 2 bucks and I said yeah sure why not like this.
One bundle them all together. Let's go.
Complete bundle by chance? It I I happened to get it, had
(38:17):
no idea what it was and like that's the only reason I
wouldn't have known either. Thank you Steam again.
Well, well, next on your backlog, you called out Tomb
Raider. I'm guessing this is 2013.
Is this the other end of the book club that came out here or?
Is yeah, that was yeah, they I actually they had they had it on
book club, but I missed it and then it went on sale theme it
(38:43):
went on sale and I think I got like this one, the the most
recent trilogy for super cheap and I was like, I'll play it.
I don't even know like how far in.
I know I think I've posted a picture of like basically how
far I got on one of the the photos of the week.
(39:06):
But this one I I've always kind of been a Lara Croft fan since
the original and again, just gaming kind of fell off and
these came up and sparked my interest again.
So that one was really good too,up to where I played again, just
kind of fell on the back burner.Just just, it just slipped away
(39:26):
and you just never got back to it, huh?
Yeah, just with everything else that I, I, I think I attributed
to Shadow Labyrinth coming out, to be honest, that one, that
one, definitely, I knew I was going to want to play more than
some of these other ones. Not not not unfair.
Now this this last one on your backlog list perplex me 'cause
(39:48):
if there is a there is a one manband for this game, one champion
singing its praises waiting for this one to come out with the
wall of Funkos behind him playing the game.
I thought you liked it. No, that ain't that's another
thing there. There's there was so much
content on this game too and DLCS.
(40:10):
And if you get to a certain point, you'll see like if you
play the game, you'll see there's like other levels coming
soon. And again, it just it just kind
of fell through the cracks. And this one is, it is a little
repetitive as far as like the fighting style and the bosses.
The stories are cool 'cause it, it has to do with a lot of the
(40:34):
stories of the actual charactersthat you're playing as.
But yeah, like I said it, it's not, I don't want to say that I
got bored of it. I just, there were other games
that I was more interested at the time.
And I know that it it like I bought it, it's going to be
there. I'm a huge Funko fan so it's I
can always go back to it. Yeah.
I was just kind of curious that that.
That that was a great game. I'm not.
(40:56):
I wasn't sure how much support they were putting into it
either. That was the curious part for
me. Man I I feel like they haven't
they haven't really updated it in a while.
I was hoping for like more DLCS like it's.
One of those ones they almost had have like a road map planned
out of like, OK, we're going to release this level now, this
level now and not that. You're really a.
Full game but like no release the extra stuff with them.
(41:18):
Yeah, I feel like if they would have done it that way, it
probably would have made pacing it a little bit better.
I think I was just too, I was really into it at the beginning
and I got probably further than I should have.
And that's kind of where I was like, OK, I'm going to, I'm
going to pump the brakes on this.
That way I don't get stuck essentially all.
Right let's go to the future. Now there's a couple again,
(41:39):
again, this is 20/25/20 like 2023 again is like epic year,
like these giant video games. 2024 little slower.
What it just and now 2025. I mean, it's like awesome lot.
There's like big games, there's little games.
(42:00):
There's just too many games and too many different styles and
and you've got 3 on this list. I know which one like you're
like super excited for and and Ieven have like I got a kid, a
student that I tutor here every week.
She tells me still have you likeI've have you gotten them yet?
Because it's like the next one'scoming that you have to play,
though she tells you all the time.
But at first it was like one of the new announcements Kronos.
(42:22):
And let me tell you, I don't like, I don't do horror games.
It's just like I. I don't either like.
I really like. Something about this one, right?
Yeah, I think honestly, it's thethe time travel aspect and the
combat, like it's, it looks different enough that I'm
interested in like I remember seeing part of it in the release
video or the preview video that like you can eliminate an enemy,
(42:45):
but if you don't completely destroy it, it'll merge with
another one, right. And so like that whole aspect,
like it's going to be insane. And I don't, I don't know that
it's I don't like just from the trailer, it didn't seem too
horror ish. But I think like I said, the the
(43:06):
mechanics of it really, really interested, interested me.
Like I it's very intriguing. It looks one part ugly, one part
stressful to me. That's the horror.
Or. Something and I'm and I'm OK
with stressful like those. I don't know why I do it to
myself, but I feel like they're just, they're just that much
more rewarding when they're morestressful, when you can get
(43:26):
through it. This is what I'm dealing with
with, with Doom right now. I, I've, I, I think I spent 45
minutes on one level yesterday and playing the same small
section over and over and over again.
I was and I was like, yeah, I guess like I just like, I just
really enjoy hating myself sometimes.
You're playing it, you're playing it on hard, aren't you?
(43:47):
Yeah, yeah, it was that was thatwas a mistake.
I should, I should have played on normal and just kind of
enjoyed it. But I was like, I can't.
It's like what, what more could they do?
I'm still going to run around and shoot and I'm on the last
four levels. I was like, oh, that this is
what they could have done. I'm I'm actually running out of
ammo and running around trying to get these hits in.
It's so I it was like I could I could turn it down right now.
(44:11):
It's just nothing stopping me. But but I'm but I'm not going
to. I'm going to, I'm going to
suffer through. It I I feel you on that one.
But there's corn as well. You're right.
It's like the horror is just kind of more style, right?
It feels more style hard, but the game real.
That gameplay just looks cool. I I know you're not getting it
for the switch too, I'm just real curious that like is there
(44:32):
is the the play last I saw is still just PC and Switch 2
right? They didn't announce PlayStation
Xbox for this, did they? No, it's just PS-5 Xbox Windows
putting out a lot of things. OK, I was I at one point I only
because I could not. I think when they had the
Nintendo Direct, I don't think they had released the
PlayStation, Xbox info yet because I had tried finding
everything. Like there's no way they're just
(44:54):
doing this on the Switch to in PC, Yeah.
There's. No way the the PCI had it on
Channel 3 for PC for months now. Then they did the switch to, you
know, partner direct or whatever.
Like, OK, I really we're not doing Xbox.
Like what? What God's green Earth's
happening here. OK, all right.
I feel better now. Yeah, no, it's on.
(45:14):
Yeah, I got. I got to just.
I got to get that. One up, the orders are live too
I think. Yep, yeah, I'm watching a
little. Preview out here.
There we go, it comes. September 5th.
Oh yeah, so there's a preorder that has four times pistol ammo,
small health pack, 1000 energy, and a unique Arbor skin?
No, thank you. Yeah, and this is a full game.
(45:38):
This is a $60.00 game, which means I won't get it right away.
Because it's the deluxe edition that I'm probably not going to.
Buy no Steam. Steam tells me that they'll put
it on sale. So yeah, I wonder how that
affects say, I want to, I want to know what is the percentage
of people that just at this point always wait for stuff to
be on sale as opposed to buying it immediate?
(46:01):
I there's. Also the Steam manipulation of
the introduction sale, that's a factor as well.
Get that 2030% off because they're trying to trying to
manipulate the Steam sales charts and see if they can get
really crunch in there and manipulate the the Steam
algorithms. So that we, that's, that's where
I'm at, like, you know, with thePlayStation games that get moved
(46:22):
over to PC and they're like, oh,people will buy a PlayStation.
And I was like, well, I'm not, I'm not people.
I'll, I'll wait two years. It's OK.
I, there's, there's so many games.
I I can wait. I've been, yeah, I've been on
both ends of that. You bought what you can.
Actually play spider man. What a perfect transition for us
to talk about Ghost of Yote then.
(46:43):
I'll play that one in 20 years and I'll be very happy when I
do. And it's so that that one's a
little funny because I didn't play.
I don't want to say the first one because it's not necessarily
a sequel. Yeah, they're, they're
disconnected and they, yeah, you're, it's in the universe.
But you don't, you don't have tohave played it.
Yeah. And I feel like I don't know, I,
(47:06):
I feel like with this one, I want to be one of the first ones
to play it and not wait. I don't know what it is.
I can't tell you what it is about this one that has hooked
me more than the first one I did, I feel like.
What's your PlayStation Plus status?
That's the question. You're just on the essential.
(47:28):
You got the base tier. Will this one be on it?
No, it will not. It will not.
They they don't do that. They they want to make money on
like Xbox. They're not just burning, Xbox
is. Crazy.
Because if you have if you have the extra tier, this the Ghost
of Sushima's on PlayStation Plusfor the second tier.
I don't know which one I have. Let me see where does it tell me
(47:49):
that I have essential? OK, yeah, yeah, you need the
essential. So you're you're triggered then.
So if you have the if you have the extra tier, that's where
they they have goo Sushima in there.
They do eventually put them in there, right?
It just takes a little bit of time.
They they want to like, hey, listen, come, come buy the game.
Come, come what your money's worth.
Don't don't give away, do for nothing and then complain about
(48:10):
like low, low sales on it. Yeah, well, what they do makes
sense, so obviously what Xbox does.
I mean, maybe it makes sense. Maybe someone else has more
information than it makes sense.Yeah, they backed them.
They backed themselves into a corner that's.
All they do, yeah. I don't, I don't know what
they're doing. And it's Brandon too.
Like it's. They double down and say
(48:31):
everything will be here immediately.
I was like, OK, you say so like, yeah, I.
Don't. I don't but but back to your
taste. So so you didn't play Sushima,
right? So you is this just like a vibe
thing? Is it that like, OK, you you
were intrigued enough by Sushimathat you're like, OK, they're
giving us the next elevation of it.
Let me see what this what's going on here?
Yeah, and like I said, I've heard nothing but good things
(48:51):
about Sushima, but I, I don't, Ifeel like I want to play this
one first. I again, I don't know what it is
and I, I know that it's not. If it was a continuation I would
definitely play Sushima first, but I feel like since it's its
own story I can just pick it up and be be fine with it.
And it's going to be just quality life upgraded, yeah, and
(49:12):
play better. Yeah, everything, everything
about just going to run optimized for the PS-5, that's
all, all. Right, let's get to the real
game you're excited for. Yeah, this was the tease we knew
was coming. Yeah, look, come on, Little
Nightmares 3, this is all you. This, But this one's new
characters, right? Yes, completely new characters
(49:34):
and it's Co-op So we've already me and white Thunder have
already talked about this one's definitely going to go on
Thunder Thursday. But the one and two were I mean,
great. I'd my I remember buying the one
and two bundle for my son on Xbox like physical copies, but I
(49:56):
never played them. I was like, I was a little
little baby horror game. How fun could it be, right?
And then again, Steam going withtheir sales, it was like $3 for
the first one. And I was like, sorry, I keep.
It's fine if if you're OK, that's just a funnier beat.
Just keep. Rolling the fact that it the
fact that it's only come out twice this whole time I'm
(50:20):
actually impressed with myself, but October 9th, I can't.
I can't wait. To be honest.
I the game playing one and two 2by far it was better than one.
They did a really good job with one though, introducing the
characters. I'm kind of bummed that it's not
the same characters because I was really, I don't know yet if
it's not going to overlap with those two stories, but I was
(50:44):
kind of bummed that it's different characters because in
my eyes I feel like it's not going to overlap, but you never
know. They don't.
They didn't really put out too much storyline about it so I I
don't know what it's going to beabout but it looks great and I I
feel like with the Co-op aspect of it, it's just going to make
it that much more fun. Absolutely.
(51:10):
Now we we jump back into the traditional piece where we ask
you about a quest, a question from the Channel 3 history
books. We'll keep it, we'll keep it
simple. Who do you go to for dating
advice, Mario or Link? Well, on my on the quest, I put
Link just because Mario keeps losing his girl.
So I mean, automatically you're going to be like, he doesn't
(51:33):
know how to keep somebody. Yeah, Mario's officially been
just debunked too, since we put this quest out.
The the, the this is. Nintendo has directly responded
to this quest by saying Mario and Peach are not a thing.
Yeah, a real bold choice there, right?
For Nintendo to just throw out and be like, hey, by the way,
now he's just like, he just kindof shows up and she says thank.
(51:54):
You so he's just and then so he's just a creeper.
That's even worse. That's even worse.
I like I feel like this didn't help in any way to to to make
this an official thing. Like this is a guy who ends up
on a list acting like this in high school.
Like this is this is that like ROM com behavior or offender
predator list in real life? Situation.
(52:15):
Yeah, for sure. All right, it's 2025.
What's your favorite feature on Channel 3?
I honestly don't think that I'm ever going to have a different
answer, but the GIFs are just every time.
(52:35):
I think it's one of those every time.
I think there's more and more different people.
There's still BOM BOM Chu just dropped.
Bom Chu sent me a video that I had to prioritize.
Like I've probably got like 15 more that I have to sort
through. Bamchu emailed me one this past
week that was like, oh, this is a priority that I just sent over
to him. Like the one, the one is I, I
(52:59):
don't even know what it what the, the tag for it is, but the
one where Oh my God, what it what's his name is coming across
and they're in the back like he's like this and.
Oh yeah, when they, when Jedi, when they're doing the the end
of his whole. Career like the the I don't what
do you what do you have it tagged as?
That's a great question. That is a great option.
(53:20):
What does it take? A hot fire.
Let's see, let's see, let's see,let's see what dumb thing I
tagged this as. Like that one was so good I was
not expecting it but when I saw it I was like holy crap.
Yeah. See we got the, the, the the
car. I have that as ended his career.
Yeah. There.
That's a good one there. That one hasn't been released
(53:43):
though, right? That was released for one day.
He put it in a ticket booth thatsame day.
That was, that was a that was a weekend while they were in
Chicago, I think because he sentit to me like over the weekend.
So it was in there for like 3 days and either you're paying
attention or you weren't. And it will be, it will be back.
Because if anybody hasn't figured out I have a pattern
(54:04):
now. The new ones come out for a
month and they, they go there, but every other day a new one
comes out and every other day that's not that day, I release a
vault of some sort, whether it'sa tagline or whether it's a GIF.
So something comes out at at some point and they're, and
they're on a rotation. So it'll, it'll be back.
It'll be back. Maybe even maybe even the day of
(54:26):
your podcast released next week. There's just so many good ones
on there and I feel like that's and I feel like there's there's
still more that could be done too.
Like I have some, I have some ona list that I want to do, I just
haven't found did did. Do you guys have, do you guys
have the site up right now? I just did.
(54:46):
I just closed it. I have it up right now.
This is why. Take take a look at the take a
look at the group chat here for the podcast planning and there's
the the one I finished for Bombshee tonight.
I just sent a link to. I just.
Sent I never have tickets because I always.
Oh, that is a good one. I'm just like building my
character. I feel like every time I every
(55:07):
time I get a reaction I'm like building out my character on the
site. See, but this is one of those
that's like, I probably won't ever use it, but as a collector
I'm going to have to have it. Oh, no, I will.
I will absolutely find use for Imean, I called it 003 for BOM
chew, but he he he set up like adryer vent or something.
He's like, can you add the effect that we absolutely I can,
(55:31):
I can add the effect to this one.
That's perfect. And I will absolutely, you know,
it's one of those ones you're like, I don't have any use for
this. And you're as soon as you have
it, you're like, Oh no, I can. This is this is when I smoke
somebody in Fortnite. And I couldn't.
It's perfect. Yeah, I do have a couple on the
list that I want to get done. I just haven't.
(55:52):
Like I said, I haven't found theright place to do them yet.
Why don't you broke a bow tie out?
That's that's what prompted thisand another one he had like he's
like, I got a bow tie out. I'm making, I'm making videos,
I'm sending them over, send themover.
That's amazing. All right, there we go.
That that's the note. Make more reactions, people,
because because Thunder Thunder thoroughly enjoys them and wants
(56:14):
to collect them all the GIFs. Make the GIFs right then see I'm
being nice and. Quiet.
I'm intentionally not coming offmute.
He. No, You know what The thing is?
He did. He did.
One more time just to jab the jab the sharpened toothbrush I.
Saw, I saw a little. The prison Shiv.
I saw the little Yeah. My my poker face for the word
(56:38):
jif is not very strong. And right there, that's it.
On that note, we made it to the end on a special.
What are your three with a Thunder Palm?
Go watch some Thunder Thursdays.Play.
People play. Just play games.
Just just keep playing a lot of games because there's so many.
Just play them, enjoy them. Tell us that you're playing them
because someone else is going toenjoy it.
(57:00):
That's kind of the whole point here.
Everyone's fighting games because one person's like, hey,
you guys know about this game and no one knows about it and
then 10 people play it. So player games people.

Dan's muted himself. Look, look, he's so angry that
he he doesn't even want to sharewhat he's saying.
(57:42):
No, Yeah, You know what's funny?Because I I just, I told you I
don't want to. I don't want to leave myself off
mute because my my fall allergies are starting and I
don't want to go. But anyway, no, I was saying
Channel 3 is the future.
