I had a dream!’ How long will this continue in the hearts of these lying prophets, who prophesy the delusions of their own minds?” The passage from Jeremiah chapter 23 serves as backdrop to a modern tragedy. This is a story of two people whose self-love and delusions, culminated in an unspeakable horror. Their actions, fueled by a desire for power, control, and sex, led to the deaths of four innocent people, two of which were children. It also casts light on the dangers of passivity—the silent witnesses who, through their inaction, allowed this tragedy to unfold.
