What does it mean to say that the Bible is the “word of God”? For Christianity, the “Word of God,” refers to much more than just the Bible; literally everything that unfolds in History is God speaking, the Logos--the rational principle of the universe, is God speaking--every truth is God speaking, and Jesus Christ is the Word of God who became a human being. So, where does the Bible fit? Why is a book about people who lived long ago, the “word of God,” and in what ways?
The Bible… is a map made out of people. So, that we won’t get lost trying to hear God in everything.
