(00:09):
Home me now I'm finally fulfilled.
This is what my heart's been waiting for.
Home me, now I'm finally fulfilled.
Pick me up to dance and pick. Me up.
What's up ladies and gentlemen? Night 3 of what you see in me,
what we were calling it, what were we dumping it after dark?

(00:30):
After dark, Yeah. So this is night 3.
And since I couldn't remember the title of what we are doing,
I think that is a strong indication of where my mental
state is at. Have I been drinking tonight?
Yes. Will I continue drinking
tonight? Actually, no.
Oh. Shocking.
Shockingly, no. We are recording this currently

(00:53):
at 2:37 in the morning. So we are I am finished with
drinking with Trent. He's a grown man he can do
whatever he wants and if he wants to continue drinking he
can. But we are here to recap the
third night of AX going into thefinal full day tomorrow and we
will see where that leads us. But we've done it for two nights

(01:15):
in a row. Let's do it with a third.
Let's start off with RA XS Journey of the day.
And you started 3 hours before me.
So why don't you give the peoplean idea of what was going on in
the early stages of AX today? Yeah, so I had the I wanted to
get there first thing in the morning because there was a

(01:39):
Persona 5, Persona 5X, the new mobile game that came out.
There was a panel for that, plusa performance by the by the
vocalist. The the person that does the
music for the Persona 5 was Lynn.
So she had a little like an impromptu, not impromptu, but it

(02:01):
was weird because when I walked in.
So I everyone's talking about the performance, performance,
performance, performance. And I was like, OK, there's
going to be like a stage, there's going to be lights,
things like that. And then when I walked in,
because it was in the Peachtree Hall, the same hall that all the
other, you know, news, breaking events, that wasn't the big

(02:23):
Peacock Theater. Yeah, this holds, I mean a
couple 1000 people. It's a pretty big city, Our
city. It's a pretty big.
Panel room. Yeah.
And so I was like, OK, this is this is a little odd, but we'll
see. We'll make it work.
And then so that had Sea Dog VA Connor.

(02:43):
He was the host of the panel. Then it had the like, the
director of the game, the artistand the artist, I can't think of
his name at the moment. Shigenori Soijima I think.
Let me check my notes. Yeah, that's.
Correct. He he does like almost all the

(03:04):
modern like Persona games. He did a metaphor refantasio.
And so he was doing a live drawing while the other members
of the panel were talking, talking about buy our or play
our mobile game, you know, doingthe usual stuff.

(03:25):
Hey kids, buy our mobile game. Here's the new banner that's
coming out next week. It's Summer Festival.
Kids like gotcha poles. Well, we got.
Plenty. And so we got like a little bit
of insight to who the next character is being introduced
are. That was cool, That was fine and
all, but for me, the big and foralmost everyone else there, the

(03:49):
big highlight of that was the performance by Lynn.
She performed 2 songs, I'm assuming one Persona 5X song.
I haven't downloaded the game yet myself.
I was never too interested in. It fake fan.
Yeah, I was kind of, I was like, you know what?
I've had enough Persona 5. I've had it so many different
ways and I'm done. Move on to the next thing.

(04:12):
No more. Yeah, and so she performed 2
songs I'm assuming. Yeah, a song from P5X and then
life will change from Persona 5.And that was for me 'cause that
apparently this was her first time performing in the US
Everything that she's done is, if you watch, if you go back

(04:35):
since Persona 5 came out and watch the like, the P5
Soundstage festival, all the music fest.
Uh oh. Not we have electrical issues
going on right now mid recordingit's back on it's.
Telling us to wrap it up already.
Oh shit, we might have. So we have to go a little bit
longer than Let me check my notes 4 1/2.
Minutes so might have. To go a little bit.

(04:56):
Longer and so yeah, that was a for me seeing that it was one of
the bucket list things that I have.
There's a few amount of people like musicians, especially in
the gaming and anime anime sphere that I want to see
perform live if she is one of them.

(05:17):
But so Johnny and Johnny was getting in line for some other
stuff as well. So we plan to be there by 9:00.
We got in like 920. We found a good parking lot that
was like close to the ConventionCenter and we go towards the
Petri Hall. Johnny's walking with me like,

(05:37):
oh, they're into overflow. OK, go to the overflow, overflow
completely full. They capped it at like 920
basically when we got there. So basically every like right
when Gates opened at 9, everyonewent straight for it and I was
like, I, I got too comfortable. We've been having such a good

(05:59):
time. I was very comfortable today
based off of our previous interactions with the panel
rooms and how late we actually need to be there or how early we
need to be there. Yeah.
And so that was because in yearspast I have like, I don't know,
like a 6070% hit rate on what I actually get into versus like,

(06:21):
things don't time out right, panels get capped, whatever.
But that was the first one all weekend where I was like, damn,
I might take my first L. And then around 10:00, they
created another overflow line. I was the first one there.
I kind of like eased my way up to the front 'cause I knew they
were going to make another line so I was like, let me just get

(06:45):
right up next to the staff worker so he makes me the 1st.
One scoot in a. Little bit, yeah.
And then so I was the overflow of the overflow and then I ended
up getting in still decent seats, but that was awesome.
And that's what, my first three hours of the day or so.

(07:06):
That's what's up. Yeah.
And this is normally be the partwhere I asked Johnny how his day
was, but apparently he's soft. And went to bed.
And since he's not here and he won't listen back to the
episode, he won't know that I'm talking shit about him.
So. Maybe he can hear through the
walls. Maybe or maybe some old rat and

(07:28):
be like hey, Pete was talking shit about you on the day three
recap and then maybe he'll go back and listen.
But for a guy who says he doesn't like trash taste and.
Ended up going through 2. Trash taste panels and then
buying Joey's exclusive merch. I think he likes trash taste so.
Maybe. Maybe.
That's just me putting the pieces together, but According

(07:49):
to him, he does not like trash taste.
So my money started a little bitlater than everybody.
My body this morning decided to say no to the 8:00 AM alarm and
yes to the 10:45 alarm. So.
Started a little bit later than, which was fine.
The first panel that I like really wanted to go to today

(08:10):
started at 1, and so I figured Ihad a panel in my mind that if I
woke up early and I felt good, Iwould go to it.
But my real plan was to go to the Physics of Anime panel,
which was done by three NASA scientists.
And we went to the sports and anime panel yesterday and that

(08:33):
was done by like a guy at the Athletic.
We had the we had Hinata's voiceactor.
We had like a college professor running.
And I was like, this is really cool.
And like nobody showed up for that.
That was like 40% full. And it was probably like, it's
probably like a top five panel so far of the weekend.
And then this one, I have a feeling that is like, this one's

(08:55):
probably going to be similar to the sports and Anime 1.
I'm just trying to assume nobody's going to show up for
it. And then I got there about 15
minutes before the panel startedand the line was wrapped around.
I was like, ah, shit, people actually showed us this panel.
So I got in line just to see if I could get in.
And while I was going in becausethey were like clicking the

(09:17):
thing because the the counter. The.
Room only hold the held like I think it was like 200 and like
10 people. So not like a super big room for
AX and when I walked in and I heard somebody say like 5 more
people. So I barely made it into the
physics of anime and it was the deepest thing is still the best
thing that I saw. But in terms of like an actual

(09:39):
sit down panel, this was the best.
It was better than the sports one.
It was the best panel I've seen this weekend.
It was one of the best panels I've ever seen, period.
I think it's just fun when masters of what they're talking
about talk about something in relation to anime.
And we had three NASA scientists. 1 was like he built

(10:02):
like scientific balloons and instruments for monitoring like
solar flares. The other one dealt with lasers
and then the other one dealt with nickel three.
I think it's like a substance that's like only found on like
Mars or some shit. So like, I was like, all right,
well, this is crazy. And so they started off the

(10:24):
panel with talking about like where the most scientifically
accurate anime and where are theleast scientific accurate anime.
And they're saying how the most scientifically accurate anime
was Planet S, which is done by the same creator of Vinland
Saga. And then they were talking
about, and then it got to like alittle bit of silliness how like

(10:44):
Doctor Stone is more scientifically accurate than
something like Orb, which I thought was really interesting
because I don't know anything about heliocentrism, but Orb
seemed to do a really good job at portraying it in like an
educational manner. Turns out a lot of what they got
in that show was either exaggerated or incorrect.
So I thought that was interesting.
And then they talk about how Doctor Stonewall exaggerated is

(11:08):
actually like fundamentally correct, how the things that
they are doing is like what is actually supposed to be done,
but then it's exaggerated for TV.
So they were really impressed bylike the accuracy.
And then they had to, then they had to break it down a level and
talk about the least scientifically accurate anime
out there. And they mentioned Bunny Girl

(11:29):
Senpai, which I thought was funny because Miles loves to
shit on how bad like the physicsand quantum mechanics of Bunny
Girl Senpai are. And then we had a little quantum
mechanic at this panel talking about how dumb the theories of
Barney Girls empire were. But like the two long the TLDR

(11:50):
I'm not going to go into it, butessentially each girl in the
series that has a problem is based off of a theory and they
don't play into that theory at all.
So essentially like Tomoe, who is in a time loop in her arc,
there's like theories and academic papers that like a lot

(12:11):
of people like, I guess it's like what the masses agree on,
on how like these situations would maybe run out their
course, especially in terms of like Infinity.
This is this might be I might just be bullshitting a little
bit, but it made it seem like kind of like of all the girls,
their problems would have been either solved by themselves or

(12:33):
would have never happened in the1st place.
So I guess like a real quick one.
My when we start out with can't be seen, the theory of whatever
hers is is if people can't see her, she shouldn't be able to
see herself. If she could see herself, then
people should be able to see her.
And it's like that was like why it was wrong.

(12:54):
And then he broke it down into like actual like supporting
documents. It wasn't just like
bullshitting. So I'm giving the the Cliff
notes version. This is just a trust me bro.
That's what they said on the panel type of thing, but blew me
away. Absolutely incredible panel,
great way to start my day. And then we just moved on.

(13:14):
We then we both ended up at the Studio Orange panel.
So do you want to start with that?
Yeah, so after my persona panel,me like me and Johnny and you
were waiting for you, you were coming in as well.
We're all kind of like bouncing around like, oh, you're here.

(13:35):
OK, well, I'm here. Well, you're there.
But then, yeah, we all finally got together at the orange
panel. I am a fan of B stars.
I've watched. I really liked season 1.
I watched most of season 2. So I'm a little bit the that's.
What? You know he's a fan.
He's watched more than. One season of a show?

(13:55):
What? I did watch, I really enjoyed
and I will support B Stars for whatever it wants to do,
wherever it wants to go. That was yeah, that was really
informative. It really kind of made me
appreciate Orange a lot more andthe the work that goes into

(14:17):
making their productions. But CG anime as a whole,
although like, I don't know how many other studios go to the
level and to go to their expertise, but when it's done
right, you see how much work goes into it, Yeah.
They were showing like a tool that Studio Orange created, like

(14:38):
the CG tool that they used, theymade and it was, it was they
made it for Trigun Stampede. And they were showing it as as
essentially how it worked was instead of like moving like say
someone was like think of somebody smiling and then
frowning like constantly. So like the faces are moving
perpetually instead of you goinginto the system and then like

(15:04):
moving it, you know, like movingit up and then framing and then
moving it down and stuff like that.
You can sort of just like move the, the head and it would like
naturally react to like how yourbody would if you were like
swinging your head to the leg orswinging your head to your
right. I was like, you know, there's a
lot of technical things that go with the anime, and I love when
I find out stuff like that because that's something that I

(15:26):
didn't know. I just assume people are on
their computers working in whatever program they use to
make CG stuff. And it's like, no, like we like,
we want to improve the quality of CG, so we just made our own
thing to improve the quality of CG.
It's like, yeah, like you are walking the walk.

(15:46):
So that was awesome to see from Studio Orange.
And then we got to see the, I thought it was cool to see how
we went from like storyboard to the final product.
And a lot of times when we see that in panels, it's like the
rough sketches of it. And then the final product, they
sort of broke it up into four different like waves for it to

(16:10):
start to and then to end was this wave of like storyboard
into like a, a rough draft into like a polished rough draft into
a finished product. And they showed like how it like
changed throughout. So it's like you do step one
storyboard it, you get like the rough draft going.

(16:32):
And then the second one's like, OK, maybe you add like some
background art and maybe you addsome choreography to like what
you want to do in the scene. And they were showing an example
of a fight scene in Me Stars. And then the third was like a
little bit more Polish. They added some more decal.
And then the 4th 1 was like everything was finished and how
it looked from the final productto the beginning storyboard was

(16:56):
like they didn't even look anything like it.
So it was fun to see like the steps the creators go through to
make a product like B Stars and how much time it takes.
Like they mentioned like a 3 minutes fight scene probably
took that team six months. So I like getting that
background of that and seeing how long it takes because from

(17:19):
start to finish I think the the average life cycle of an anime
takes about three years. So just seeing something like
the rough draft to see how it gets started and starts going
was was really cool. Between that and the the stop
motion guy, the the lead of the the studio for yeah, for my

(17:40):
melody and Chromie saying go 10 seconds of this, you know, this
animation takes X amount of months or whatever.
It's like, OK, yeah, you, you 2 guys are, are putting in the
work for sure. One of the things that I really
liked about about kind of the culture that Orange mentioned

(18:02):
and this kind of goes back to like them creating their own.
It's I kind of see it similarly to a game studio making their
own game engine and them runningeverything through that instead
of using like generic and real engine or some or Unity there's
like you. Know.
We have a specific thing that wewant our our crew and our team

(18:22):
to learn and do. And so one of the things that
they brought up with that was that each one of their anime
starting from Land of the Lustrous on all the way up to
now, the next season of B stars and or the next final part of B
stars and Trigun Stargaze Stargaze, right, That's yes.

(18:45):
Stargaze. I was.
I think of shoe gaze for like Fooly cooly for a second.
I was. Singing Star Boy from the
weekend, that's. That would be a cool, you know,
switch boy. Would be a sick title for Tri
like Trigun Star Boy would be sick, yeah.
Yeah. But yeah, one of the things that
was really cool is that from each one of these shows, they

(19:09):
keep a lot of the same team and they bring in newer, younger
talent. And it allows the the next, the
younger, the hungry person to come in to learn and learn from
the previous person. And then just builds and you
learn something new on the next show and you learn something new
on the next show. And you can like, you can

(19:32):
probably go back and watch all the different shows that they
did, all the different things. And you can probably see that
growth over time. And that's really cool to see,
yeah. I also thought it was cool that
they bench and lay to the lustrous quite a bit.
And I think it was just showing to like the importance of how
that show shaped Studio Orange. I mean, that's what that was the

(19:53):
show that got me on their, on myon my radar with them.
And then they continued it with like it was funny.
It was like we did laying at thelost race and the crowd was
like, yeah, we love laying at the lost race.
And like we did Godzilla's singular point.
Everyone's like, yeah, we heard that one.
It's. Like.
Nobody in the crowd. It's like, yeah, we didn't watch
that one by man. It's like, yeah, it's like, OK,

(20:15):
we did. We did Tri God.
I was like, yeah, we like Tri God.
So that was really fun. The the the guy that was running
it, it was like a solo ran panel.
He was a producer for Studio Orange and he was just like
vibing the whole time. Like he fucked up his like
slides. Obviously he kept mentioning
like how complex his deck is. Deck for a term for anybody out

(20:40):
there is like, if when you make a PowerPoint and it's all the
slides, that's, that's the deck.It's like a, it's like a deck of
cards and then the slides are your deck of cards.
So he's like, oh, I kept making my, my slides so complex.
My deck is so complex and it's just it's literally him.
Just like pressing forward too many times and the computer.
Freaks out. Yeah, like, dude, I'm like.

(21:01):
It's not the deck you are pressing forward four times.
He's like, why is it skipping 4 times?
It's like old ass man right? Even though you look like, I
don't know, 45. It was a pretty fun panel and
then they talked about Leviathan.
The world premiere was yesterday.
I missed it because I sound busy.
Well, and I found out that they're dropping all the

(21:22):
episodes at once. So what does it matter if I
watched the world premiere the first episode, if I could watch
the entire show in like 3 days? So I skipped the world premiere
yesterday and they're they, theybrought us some stuff about some
storyboarding stuff that they did for Leviathan.
They talked about some music because it's not just the big
ones like Joe Hiroshi, I believehis name is the guy who did all

(21:43):
the Ghibli music height. Is that how you pronounce it?
I don't know. I'm a boy him on the I'm a boy
him on the alcohol. I'm just going to call him Joe.
So Joe, who does the music for Studio Ghibli?
They also brought in like a duo who did like orchestra stuff for
a various amount of different like Halo was one of them.

(22:06):
Call of Duty Black Ops four I think it said.
So it's like this this this duo who has done like orchestra OS
CS for anime and games. Like Kideo Kojima.
Oh, Metal Gear Solid Four. Yeah, that was another one.
Yeah. So.
And so it's like it's not just Joe, there's like another team.
Because when I listened to the PVI was blown away by the music
and it sounds like we're going to get like a lot that goes into

(22:30):
the sound design because they'rebringing in like a multiple
people. So that made me really excited
for a show that I'm already really excited for.
And they they showed some like new stuff, but like not enough
to for it to be like newsworthy,I would say.
But this was like a just like a great educational and informal
panel from I guess when we do, when we did like industry panels

(22:54):
earlier and stuff like that. This is the type of thing I
would like to see if you're not going to do surprises, like
really showcase what you're doing.
Because when we did Anaplex, while they are mostly a
distributor, they didn't really show anything that like there's
like we did all of like we let the Blu-ray out for this show.

(23:15):
It's like awesome Anaplex, we appreciate that.
Now show us something we don't know and they didn't.
Do that but studio. Orange broke down a bunch of
shit on their shows that was like, yes, this is what I wanted
in an industry panel. Show me what your job of a
producer does, why you do it, who you go to when something

(23:37):
happens, who did like a funny story about like the CEO and how
is this like, well, I'm the producer and so I'm in charge of
the budget. So then the CEO who is also the
freaking, I didn't know this, either the CEO of studio orges
the head animator as well. So like he's not only running
the business, it sounds like he's a workhorse and is also

(23:58):
animating the shows that they'reworking on.
So he had to like, tell the CEO it's like, no, we can't actually
do this because it's not on the budget.
And then he has to be. And then the CEO is like, well,
I'm the CEO and I want to do it.He's like, you know what, you're
right, You're right. You are the CEO.
So let's do it, boss. So that was pretty fun, yeah.

(24:18):
Like him, him being kind of the head of head of the animation
department and what he was how hands on he was.
I think the the producer that was there said for season 1 or
at least B stars completely or at least season 1.
He did like up to 40 of the faces from because he would do

(24:42):
the animations with his face himself and then they would
help. They would use his reactions and
and and how he was acting. They would use that for what
they would animate. And yeah, he's he's in there.
He's elbow deep Which? Is great, yeah.
It makes me appreciate like the studios more when I, I guess

(25:07):
it's more of like, I guess I come from a corporate background
in terms of like professional working.
When you see your CEOs, you know, are more of like a figure
rather than a actual like contributor to your company.
And it's, it's, it's nice to seewhen ACEO is like in the

(25:27):
trenches with your employees. Like I, it's something I
appreciate. So props to that.
Great panel, great panel. Then we went to the dark horse,
the the publisher panel. I don't know if there's anything
noteworthy to say. This was mostly just to fill
time and I wanted to see if theywere doing do any Berserk news.

(25:48):
I think they did, but we arrivedlike 15 minutes late, so I
missed it. So this is just like a whatever
panel. I've been to their panels before
in the past and they just were they basically were just talking
about like what manga they're publishing for the following
year. So that was fine.
And then the last panel that we went to was the Crunchyroll

(26:11):
industry panel, which was we. Love Crunchy Roll?
Crunchy roll, Crunchy roll. Luckily we missed the hype
squad. We were, I think we're like 10
to 15 minutes late for this because we finished the Dark
Horse man. So we missed the RE0 four season
news, so I'm assuming that was big news.

(26:33):
I missed all of those news and we've been running around with
our heads chopped off. I've even been on Twitter to see
if there's like APB or anything. All I know is that they talked
about it. Don't know what else they did,
but like the first thing that wegot to with this was the
president of Bones, I believe, or CEO of Bones came out and was

(26:55):
talking about some of like the stuff he did.
And then the big news was we gotthe teaser trailer for Demons of
the Shadow Realm, which is something that I was hoping for,
that we would get the antiplex. Yeah, and.
I'm still actually like I I get it because the CEO of bones was
at this panel, so it showed off there.
I still think they should that the antiplex.

(27:17):
I think it made more sense to doit for antiplex than to do it
for Crunchyroll just because I don't think that this is a
Crunchyroll thing. I where I think Crunchyroll
anime, I think shows like ShieldHero, these are the shows that
they pushed on her throat. So Shield Hero, soul leveling,
Kaiju #8, Kaiju #8, My Hero Academia, these are shows that

(27:39):
like they really push. So those are the shows that I
was like expecting information on in terms at the Crunchyroll
industry panel. So the see here everyone was
cool because it was something that I was expecting all weekend
to get information about since it was announced that it was
getting an anime like weeks or months ago.
So that was great to see. I guess Trent, with that

(28:05):
announcement, like I was something I was looking for.
Did that announcement do anything for you?
Yeah, I mean the so I haven't read.
It's not original, right? There's already a manga going.
On SO, it's the manga from the person who did Full Male
Alchemist. Yeah, I haven't seen anything of
it. I I knew that they were making
something new or that this was rumored to be announced soon.

(28:31):
So it was it was on my radar, but I hadn't seen anything from.
I haven't seen any of the art. I haven't seen nothing.
But the little bits of what theyshowed in the teaser was more
than enough to get me at least interested.
I was like, Oh my curiosity's peak now and I will be following
along with this. Thank you, Crunchyroll.

(28:52):
Main character does look like Risa Hawkeye, but last time I
checked, Risa Hawkeye kicks ass,so that's a massive plus.
So we got RE0. We got demons in the shower
room. That's what it's called.
I remembered, yeah. Yeah, I wouldn't have
remembered. Other We got the trailer for the

(29:14):
Miss Kobayashi movie. I believe that is PB2.
We got at this one and it looks great.
It was funny because like they showed it.
They didn't say like what it was.
And. It was like the first opening
scene was Kana's dad and everyone's like who?
Is this? Character like what's going on?
Like nobody knows what's going on.

(29:34):
And then they showed like Kobayashi and stuff.
I was like, oh, this is the Kobayashi trailer all right, so
big cold boy option fan over here.
What's your thoughts? That was.
Probably the thing that I, that was my favorite thing, the
Crunchyroll panel, because everything else either was new
that I haven't heard of or stuffthat I just don't care about at

(29:58):
all. So that that was fun.
I, I didn't realize that it was a movie at first.
From the trailer, I was like, damn, why does this look so
good? Like I know Keo Annie always
puts in work with this. And I was like, oh wait, no,
it's it's when I said the showing in theaters like oh
wait, that's right. This is a movie, so of course
it's going to look gorgeous and they're going to make it look

(30:21):
the best they can. And I this series, I've loved it
since, you know, it was, it was one of the first shows because
it came out in that like that 20/16/2017 era where you're
getting tons of new properties. And that was one of the first
ones when I was getting back into anime at that time from
like watching it when I was younger.

(30:42):
That was like, hey, my, my buddy.
He was like, hey, peep this shit, you'll like it.
And I was like, OK, cool. All right, I let me.
See what it's all about. And it was such a fun time.
And so yeah, that was that was my favorite announcement that
got me shaking my light sticks that they.
Yeah. They gave us, they gave us like
idle sticks, but they only gave us one, They gave us 2, so we

(31:03):
can only just do the 1 I think. I have it.
I have them. Keep going.
We'll we'll pop we'll we'll I'llkeep talking, but then we got
the after that the other there'stwo like big announcements 1 was
the Mushoku Tensei trailer for season 3.
I don't care. I was booing the entire time

(31:24):
Here you go here we go. Let's go Crunchy roll, Crunchy
roll do not care. I don't care.
I'm not I I was like maybe I'll hate watch mushoka tense.
I'm over it. I just you guys heard me shit
talk Rudy 1000 times. You don't want to hear me talk
about more. So have fun everyone watching

(31:48):
season 3 of Mushoka tense and then like the big, big reveal
was that black Clover is returning, which we already
knew, but it's returning exclusively to Crunchyroll.
But also that like, it's like itdoesn't matter.
I I thought that was weird for like the big announcement.
Yeah, the. One last thing.
I. Feel like Demons of the Shadow

(32:09):
Realm probably should have been, but because of the audience of
the West black, more people knowwhat Black Clover is.
So I do think it is like like marketing wise, I think it's the
correct play to do that last. I do think it got the biggest
reaction. However, I think the news of
Demons of the Shadow Realm and getting the PV for it I think

(32:31):
was the biggest thing. I would have liked to see it
showcase as it. This is like this is funny.
This is like comparing it to wrestling again.
This is the second time we've compared animated wrestling,
where in wrestling when you're the top guy, you get treated
like the top guy. You are put in positions to be

(32:52):
the top person essentially. And that's kind of like what I
felt that they should have done with Demons of the Shadow Realm
is treat it like this is this humongous property coming to the
West, even if it's even if BlackClover is bigger now, make it
seem like this is a huge deal. And I think it would have gotten

(33:14):
more people to talk about it because everybody has seen full
metal like the outside of Pat, everybody has seen full metal
alchemist, either the original or brotherhood.
Like so the fact that this is the newest property from a
property that everybody has seenshould be a big deal and they
just didn't make it a big deal. And I mean I mean sorry they

(33:36):
didn't make it a big deal but itwasn't as big.
Like I felt like the Mushoku Tensei teaser was actually like
a bigger deal than demons of thechild room.
Like y'all like are you kidding me?
Like this, this announcement like this is a massive
announcement like showcasing an anime of something like this is

(34:00):
to me I think is a massive like deal and they just intrigue like
that. But what do I know, Trent?
I'm just a guy with a microphoneit.
Just just. Yeah, I'm.
Just bullshitting. Not only am I drunk right now,
but like I'm also just bullshitting.
So it's like a dangerous combo. Do you think so you say or not

(34:21):
you say, but you mentioned that how you feel, you know, demons
should be should be pushed more. You know, in in this scenario.
Do you think that the full metalname, while it's good at least
or at least the creator's name, Do you think being so many years

(34:43):
removed and it's not like you know, they have, I don't know,
are the numbers like the sales numbers, do you?
Well, here's the thing. They had the The author of Full
Metal has had an anime come out in between.
It's called Silver Spoon. It's about farming.
Yeah, so. It's not on the same level, not.
On the same level, even though Silver Spoon kicks ass and you

(35:04):
should watch it, it's a fantastic show.
Not the cultural, you know, Well, it's like it's.
Like one of those things becauseI have this theory about how
people will include echi or fanservice in the beginnings of
their manga. So it will sell and then they
will actually create the contentthat they want after they

(35:25):
essentially have like the green light to continue and like they
like they know they're not goingto get cancelled.
So then they start producing theshow that they actually want.
Sometimes I feel like the authorthat Full Mel did wrote Full
Metal so that she could do silver spoons.
I think silver spoon is actuallylike.
Her bread and butter because like her, she doesn't show her

(35:48):
face, but her avatar is a cow. So it's like I, I think silver
spoon is like actually the shellthat she wanted to create.
Yeah. Is she just the the full metal
funds everything else in her life and what she wants to do
and what she wants to make? I mean, I mean.
It it, it also feels like now aka fooded like Kagi, Osama and

(36:10):
Ocean Elko. I kind of feel like he's doing
that now. Or like he will.
He refuses to draw. He will only do the writing.
And it's like he did all that work just so he could not do
shit. Later.
And so like, I mean respect if like you, if you hate drawing,
like and you could out I hate editing because what I did I.

(36:31):
I'll source it to somebody who. I don't even know if you like
doing editing, but. With a track.
I was like, you know what, my life is way better when I don't
have to edit. So maybe they do the same thing
where it's just like, my life would be way better if I just
wrote a story. And so I.

(36:51):
Wonder if it allows them to be more focal.
It probably does allow them to be more focused, but if they
can, like, harness 100% of theircreative power versus having to
split it up, you know, yeah. And the time constraints of, I
mean, not only like, I guess like if you're a Mongika, you

(37:15):
know what you want to write, butthen how do you draw it to get
those words into those panels islike a big thing because like
you're limited on space. So if you can just focus on
writing the story, then you haveto worry about panelling and, or
I guess like fitting the dialogue because that's going to
be on the artist to create the space needed for whatever you're

(37:37):
getting through. So I mean, I guess going back to
Demons of the Shower Realm, I guess I would just wanted it to
be a bigger deal, that's all. And it's just like, it's a
property. I mean, she did Full Metal,
which is my #2 anime of all time.
And then Silver Spoon, which is,I mean, I think it's I, it's not

(37:58):
like my, one of my favorite, like slice of life and
everything, but I, I, it's really good.
Like it's fantastic. I still like farming.
I feel like if I like farming more, I probably would raise it
higher. But like the fan of somebody who
doesn't like farming, it was still a great show.
So. But then that kind of wrapped up
our day. It was not as jam packed as it

(38:19):
was yesterday. Yesterday was like we were there
from 9:00 to what time did we leave yesterday?
Late. It was late yesterday.
Oh. Yeah, because we were at the LA
Live because it was 4th of July.Yeah.
Yeah, it was 4th of July. Yesterday, so we were there till

(38:39):
yeah what so 9:00 AM to about midnight yesterday we were there
for like 1415 hours yesterday, today, well, at least for me, I
was there for six yeah. So it was it was significantly
less but then we finally I mean like we went out yesterday, but
we didn't like party yesterday tonight we actually have to like
fucking go out like that was sick.

(39:00):
So we went out to what was it called?
Sonic. Sonic something the the.
The club, yeah. The Yeah.
It was an event called. The event.
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
It was called Sonic Boom Box. Yeah, I, I, I ripped my, I

(39:21):
ripped my thing off. But so it was 2 level, like 5
different DJI think it was four or five different DJs playing
different music at a venue that seemed like I was in a maze at
some point. It was really interesting venue.
You walk in, you have to go up the stairs to the second level

(39:43):
and then once you're in the second level, you can kind of
move around the entire place, which includes the first level.
So sometimes you have to get up to get down.
But they played like we were mostly in like the the hip hop,
any song crossover. Yeah, anime crossover crowd.

(40:04):
We checked out like the there was like an emo part, which is
fun and all, but like if I'm trying to party, I'm not going
to the emo section. You're.
Not ripping your heart out. No EDMED.
MI don't EDMI actually, I actually like EDM, but I like
listening to it by myself. I don't actually like it in like
a crowd setting. So that was we skipped that one.

(40:26):
I think there's some other ones that we went to.
They had like a beyblade thing set up.
It was just like a I don't know how to describe it.
It was like, it was like a vibe.Oh.
Yeah, yeah. It was great.
You can. Each yeah, each room had like
it's own different energy and soyeah, you have the you know, you
have the emo room where it's dropping, you know, probably
like the the pop punk, My Chemical Romance, all that type

(40:51):
of stuff. Some.
Red jumpsuit apparatus for all my e-mail fans out there.
Yeah. Yeah.
Do you feel? Like a man, Trent, when you push
her around, do you feel better now?
Your wife who falls to the ground.
No, it hurts. No it.
Hurts me watching it and I standby and do nothing I.

(41:12):
Don't even got to stand up. I should.
But yeah, like that had its own energy, another room that they
had. So on the map that they
mentioned, there or no on the wall there's a big neon sign
that said the game room. Yeah, yeah.

(41:34):
And so we're like, oh, game room, awesome.
So it's probably like a barcade thing.
You know that that's what I whenI think of a bar that has a game
room, I think of a barcade. We go in there, there's three
machines. There's a Galaga machine.
There's a like a Miss Pac-Man NBA Jam, and only one of those
is working. Yeah.

(41:56):
Everything else was shut down. No power, none responsive.
It's like, oh, this is a great game room, all right?
And there's just one dude just hogging the machine by himself.
But then we discovered the real game room.
Yeah. It turns out when you go down
the stairs, turn left, zigzag through four different alleyways

(42:17):
or whatever it felt like, then we found the goods.
Yeah. And so for me up in up in San
Jose, we have a, we have a bar, a esports bar called Guild
House. It's if you follow FGC esports,
Smash esports, even like some Valorant, some stuff goes on

(42:39):
there. It's kind of a well known
Northern California Bay Area venue because anytime there's a
tournament, a convention, a Expo, whatever there, that place
always has the after party. And that's the one place where

(43:00):
it was a after party for a Smashtournament.
And half of the bar has like DJ club, whatever, and the other
half is just gaming setups and everyone's got drinks.
They're pounding drinks, they'replaying games, they're playing
whatever is the theme of that weekend.
And I thought that was amazing. I thought that experience that

(43:23):
was awesome. And then seeing that here.
And then they had, you know, they had a Switch.
They had a Switch to for Mario Kart just projected on the wall.
They had Def Jam Fight. For New York fight.
For New York on the PS3, they had like a Street Fighter TVA,
Tekken TV set up and I was like, holy shit.

(43:44):
Like after everything else we'veseen, you come in here and
there's just be we're just gaming.
And then they had kill the kill on like playing on like their
big screen or whatever. And I was like, this room is
made for me. I was.
Like damn, this shit's made as fuck.
You know I offered you to hop inhave.
A good time. I'm the worst Smash player known

(44:07):
to me, and I am as far as I saidthis to try.
As far as good as I am at video games, I am God awful at
fighting games. I could.
I've never been good and I'll never be good.
So I said hard pass. To the controller.
Pass to me said y'all have fun. I'm a vibe over this way with
some random cosplayer or something, yeah.

(44:30):
And then next to that room, I think there's like a photo booth
as well. It's.
Hard to describe it because it'slike, yeah.
It was just so segmented I. Feel like if you've ever been to
like a event room, banquet or whatever, it's like you have a
hall where like you know, if it's like a wedding, you'd be

(44:50):
like where the band plays or whatever and you have like your
tables and stuff like that. Picture a smaller event space,
but there's like 9 of them and they vary in size and they're
also on different levels. And to get to each one is also a
maze. Like we need to go like

(45:11):
downstairs. It was weird because like you
like go. Up behind ADJ.
You're like. Passing through like a hallway
and you're like walking past bathrooms that are open.
I'm like, I could see somebody pissing if I look right.
It was just like a very like it was like a dive bar, but it was
also an event space. But it was also like, God,

(45:36):
what's who's that murderer in Chicago who like, hid in the
walls of the hotel? Oh my God.
Stall for time, Trent. Yeah, those you mentioned, like
going through all the different hallways and everything and
getting into the bathroom. Yeah, I those bathrooms felt

(45:56):
like I stepped into like the demonic realm.
There was only like everything inside was all black and they'd
only had like a faint red light. It felt like I was in a horror
game or something. It was HH Helms, by the way.
It felt like I was in an HH Helms like thing where I'm like,
I'm washing my hands in the bathroom.

(46:17):
I'm like, you're looking at me through the mirror, aren't you?
Like if it had that vibe, but like at the same time it was so
cool. Like it was weird.
Like, I don't know, like if somebody told me I was in a
horror movie or like if I was todirect a horrible, let me put it
this way. And I need and it was like Saw
that event space was like it reminded me of like I could make

(46:39):
a Saw movie out of this event space.
It was, it was interesting, but.In a good way it.
Was easy, yeah. I actually have.
Nothing bad to say about it other than leaving the doors
open for all the bathrooms. Was really weird but like.
Do you have no idea like whetherit was like men or wheels or no?
Because it was. So dark I was.

(47:00):
It's essentially pitch black andthere's the fog machines going
off and then it's like, I don't know if anyone's been to like a
dive bar or club or whatever. It's like really dark neon
lights and fog and it doesn't some of the doors and have like
women they did, but it was hard to see.

(47:21):
Yeah. So it was like.
Up on the ceiling, so like. When you're drunk and it's like,
shit, I don't believe I need to pee.
Oh, there's a bathroom. I'm gonna walk that way.
And I like walk in. I'm like, there's a girl washing
her hands. I'm gonna.
Go backwards Doo Doo Doo Doo. Just like, oh shit, this is that
where I'm supposed to be? It reminded me of when I was in
Japan and I walked in on the women's only train and I looked

(47:44):
around. I was like, dear, there's a lot
of women on this. Train and then I.
Looked and I was like, oh interesting, the train car is
pink. And then I looked around and go
I'm on the women's only car, aren't I?
And luckily I got off before thedoors shut, but nobody said
anything. I was in Japan like I got on and
every I think they all like realized I was a foreigner and

(48:05):
they were just like this is awkward of like go bear.
So that was fun. That kind of would reminded me
of a little bit, but this was a blast.
We got to drive the way mode twice.
So the self driving car, that was nuts.
Yeah, that was. My first time you you had I was
on the. Waymo once in San Francisco,
that was like 2 years ago, so that was cool, but that was like

(48:27):
when it was in beta. So you have like an invite in
LA, you can just download the app and it was cheaper than
Uber. Like that was insane.
So really fun to use the Waymo. If you're ever in the LA area,
try Waymo. It's actually like really fun
and like, I don't know, it has adifferent vibe to it than like
an Uber I. Had been in a self driving taxi

(48:48):
in Vegas before. It was some other company called
like adaptive or something like that years ago before like Waymo
had like gotten to what it is now.
But that was still when you knowlike you had the the engineer,
the scientist in the passenger seat.
He was like. Oh yeah.
You was like, are you OK if you're in this car?

(49:08):
And we're like, sure, this is cool.
Like I. Did that once.
Yeah. And like since then I've never
been in like a full self drivingvehicle.
And so yeah, that that was a bitof a trip.
I kept like every time I would like, I would start to talk or
I'd respond, whatever, I'd get this like quick flash thought of

(49:32):
like, oh, keep my voice down, don't distract the driver or
don't say anything, you're weirdin front of the driver or
whatever. It was like, wait, no, there's
no one here. Yeah, it was really chill.
It was, it was a lot of fun, butI mean.
Tomorrow's. Like our, it's like it's more
like 1/2 day. So I guess I, no, we'll save our

(49:53):
final thoughts for like AX in general for tomorrow.
But I mean, through three days, one of, if not the best con I've
ever been to. The content has been
overwhelmingly fantastic. There's been a few stinkers, but
I think you get that with every con no matter what.
But for the most part, I mean, if you've never been to AXI,

(50:15):
think especially if you're like,it's like if you're in Cali, if
you're, I feel like coming here is like whatever, it's just like
a normal con. If you wanted to fly out, I
think you do need to be like a pretty big anime fan.
I don't think this is for the casual fans if you're out of
state because we. Have like very like we have

(50:35):
different experiences with that big like me being not
necessarily local, but driving range still you could, yeah.
You could drive, Yeah, I. Don't have to get on a flight.
I don't have to book plan it outmonths and months in advance.
I don't have to pack my bags properly, you know, pay for
extra storage because you're going to want to bring stuff
back home. I don't want to ship it or

(50:56):
something like that. Whereas, yeah, like you and
Johnny, you guys have to, like, watch how much bag space you
have and what you buy and what you can bring back.
And you have to be more selective with that stuff.
Yeah. No 100% and it's I I didn't
really buy that much. I've literally only bought this

(51:16):
Uma moose money thing so far. I spent all my money on alcohol.
So I mean that's on me. I could have just not done that
and bought figures, but I said, you know what sounds really good
right now, Trent, a $22.00 Bud Light.
So I said give me. Two of them give me.
Two please and put it on my credit card.

(51:38):
I'll deal with it in September or whatever.
However, credit cards work. But I mean I just got I.
Did both, yeah. Man.
Just today was my ball out day. Yeah, I tell you.
I mean, I don't even, I don't want to look at my credit card
statement tomorrow. I just probably spent.

(51:58):
We didn't even talk about dinner.
Dinner. With Oh my God, we.
Went to a place called Hatch which was like a shout.
Out Hatch was it? Yakitori, it was like a skewer
place, expensive but like reallygood.
But yeah, I think for my tab fortoday, I think I'm at like 200
bucks for alcohol like straight.I mean that's also buying tread

(52:20):
drinks and shit like that, but like take turn.
LAH. Cheap, I'll just put it that
way. We are we are getting bamboozled
a little bit though. I will say the event space that
we were at, they were making thedrink because if you've ever
done a shot glass thing at like a bar, they have the single and
the double and the drinks I was ordering they were always

(52:43):
putting in the double. So I said I.
Appreciate you. And I see you and if you're a
bartender out there, that's how you get a big ass tit from me.
If you pour me a double and I didn't ask for it, you know,
you're getting a 40% tip for me because that's two drinks and 1.
So props to the bartenders tonight who made my drinks extra

(53:05):
strong. I love it, love it.
Thank you for helping me with with those words.
I feel like there's something else to say just because our
last couple episodes of of thesehave been longer, but I don't
know. I don't have anything else to
say. It's it's 3:30 and I am tired, I

(53:28):
guess. Do you have anything planned for
tomorrow? I think for me there's like an
ARC system works panel that I was maybe thinking of and.
What time is that at? I have no idea.
Okay, no clue. I will find out the day of just
like I found out after the event, the persona event.

(53:51):
I went to that, The artist that I went to see, she was having a
full on concert at the Novo and I was like, oh, I probably
should have read this sooner. Yeah, So I could plan and, you
know, that would be my day. So yeah, I'll figure out
whenever that guilty guide. Number one, read the program

(54:13):
guide. It will tell you if the things
you want to see are happening. Yes, as I preach, you know
before how important it is to plan yeah AX and make sure you
get everything you want and that's.
What you don't? Plan.
Yeah, don't plan. You just go for it and you'll
never be let down. I.
I figured out today's schedule yesterday why I was in line.

(54:34):
So it's like just just make do. I have one thing planned for
tomorrow and that's the UMA Museme event slash movie thing
that they're doing. I'm going to take a guess.
I'm going to say 90% chance I don't show up to that.
I'm guessing Trent will. By the time I wake up, Trent

(54:56):
will not be in the house. You'll probably be doing
something. And my Uber table is 50 bucks to
the Convention Center so. Do I want to spend 50?
Dollars to go watch Uma Museme when whatever they're showing I
could probably get on 9 anime, if not now, later.
So tomorrow might just be an offday.
We'll see. I'm gonna let my body do the

(55:17):
talking. I'm not setting my alarm and
when I wake up, that's when I wake up.
I know Johnny wanted to go to the JJK panel at the Peacock
Theater, and that's the first event of the day.
Yeah. He's worried that we need to go
like 2 hours. He wants to go like two or three
hours around. I'm like, we've been to every

(55:38):
event at the Peacock Center and it didn't cap once.
And so I was like, and now I saythat it'll be funny if I look
back at this tomorrow and be like, Johnny didn't make it in
because they capped the line andhe missed it because I told him
not to go early. So and that happens.
My bad, Johnny. Sorry, don't listen to me.
Never listen to me. If you listen to me, actually,

(55:59):
that's odd to you. I I'm contemplating at least
going that early because I stillwant to finish.
Because you already did your, your exposition hall, your
entertainment artist. You had your feelings, I think.
I got everything covered so far.Today just went by so fast for

(56:21):
me and that 6:00 came and all the halls closed.
So fast. That it like it kind of set in
after last night being oh, we'reonly halfway through it.
You know, we just getting started and then now today was
over and we go out and do our things like shit tomorrow, you
know, the day, the last. Full day, yeah.

(56:43):
Well, it's not even full becausethey have their well.
We have like a full day in general, but AXAX, the closing
ceremony is at 4:00 tomorrow. So you have like 6 hours.
Yeah, you have like 6 hours of content tomorrow.
Yeah, so you got to get in what you can at the last moment.
And then if there's there's justnever enough time for AX.

(57:06):
There's just too many things. It's crazy.
Man, it's like, it's like I did so much this weekend and part of
me wants to do more and parts ofme doesn't want to get out of my
bed tomorrow at all for anythingbecause it's one day.
Because this is normally normal.Cons are three days, Yeah.

(57:29):
Today's the Sunday. Today would have been the
Sunday. Today's.
The chill day. Today's yeah, today's normally
my chill day. And today was actually like the
exact opposite. Like, like, I went so hard
today. Yeah.
Well, I mean, I could have gone harder, but I went.
I went hard tonight. And today I, I definitely felt

(57:49):
it or I was like his while we were kind of split up.
I was just walking around the dealer hall and the, or the
exposition hall and everything. And I was just walking to
walking to walk. And I was like, damn.
Like it's starting to hit me like how how tired I am from
this weekend and just running around doing stuff all day

(58:09):
because like yesterday we're mostly sitting in the nice
Peacock Theater for most over there.
Such a. Such a sick spot.
Just watch anything. Yeah.
And today, you know, grown around different things.
And yeah, today would be the Sunday.
Today would be the day that you chill, but it's the complete
opposite. But then you get that second win

(58:30):
after, you know, as you're leaving, you get dinner, you get
a handful of chicken wing and. Those chicken wings were insane.
Pork belly and chicken thigh andI don't.
Know you can make chicken wings like that.
That's almost say yeah. Yeah.
You get, you get a little bit ofthat in you, you get a couple

(58:50):
couple. You got the gum?
Gum drops, Yeah. I got I got a one piece themed
cocktail and it had marshmallowsin it.
That was the first time I had a cocktail with marshmallows in
it. Yeah, not bad, not bad.
Three forks, 3 fork cocktail looking.
Back on it now, would you take the bowl offer and we split it.

(59:14):
Oh yeah, we were thinking. About getting a bowl for three
for the two of us and that wouldhave been our first drinks of
the day. And I thought getting a bowl
would have was a little excessive, maybe in my younger
days, but as a as a father of two, I think I needed to just

(59:37):
pump the brakes and just have individual cocktails.
Yeah, you. Still have 3 or however many
which. Is silly to think in in
hindsight. It's like, oh I don't want to
drink a bowl of alcohol because then I'm going to get drunk and
then it's like then I have 9 drinks after that it's just
like. I.
Could have gotten that bowl in the night.

(01:00:00):
Probably would have turned out the exact same.
I would just have. It probably would have been
cheaper because we got a big assbowl.
You know what that was? Like 45 or something like that.
Life is all about learning from your mistakes.
The next time Trent offers me a bowl, I will say yes.
Oh. OK, you.
You heard it here first. This is a legally binding

(01:00:21):
contract. I will do it, but I'll.
I'll have the bowl bowl packed and ready so.
Whoa. Not that type of bowl.
No, I want a fish bowl that has fruit punch in it.
There we go. And like 19 shots of rail
tequila and you take one sip of it and then it's like 1st it's a

(01:00:43):
surge of gut rock because it's full of sugar and then the
alcohol starts to digest and it's like damn, I really just
consumed 14 cent tequila. I'm.
Dying, it's your poison for the night.
It just slowly takes away your health.
And then you all you end up in LA Central and it's like, damn,

(01:01:03):
that was a good SAX, right? You're.
On the next, you know, hospital soap opera, the.
Next guiding Light, the next General Hospital, the next ER,
you'll see me. They'll they'll be cutting me
open and I'm gonna have lupus. Finally, finally, it's finally
happened twice. It happened twice House.
Trains know what happened twice.I'm pretty sure it happened

(01:01:24):
twice. I think that's what it is.
But yeah, I think we're good. It is 337, so I think it's time
we say goodbye. Trent, do you have any parting
word to your adoring fan? Not I'll let you give the have
the final cry of the Crunchyrollthat we so love Crunchy Roll.

(01:01:51):
Chi Roll yeah, AX is great. I love it.
It's probably my favorite condo.Sorry, Anime Detour.
It just has everything that I look for.
And I just, I liked LA the firsttime I came here.
I still like it a lot. I would probably move here if it
didn't cost the $12 trillion to have a studio apartment.

(01:02:14):
But the city's great, venue's great, the people are great.
Like, I've had no issues with anybody.
I haven't really like seen issues either, like outside of
like what you would normally think with like drunk people or
just like, you know, city night time life.
Sometimes there's some shenanigans, but like nothing
crazy, like no fights, no peoplebeing rude or obnoxious or

(01:02:39):
whatever. There's been.
It's been really nice so far. So hopefully the last full day
continues. Yeah.
It's been fantastic time, good stuff and one more day to get
everything we can out of this. The value of a ticket, your
talk, cost of ticket and everything.
It's all been worth it. The.

(01:02:59):
The the price of admission for the demonstrator concert was
worth the AX. And then on top of I, we'll
probably talk about tomorrow, but I want to go over like just
like the big hits, the big misses as well.
But I thought this was mostly a big hitter con, so we've been.
Playing with house money, we. Have been playing with house
money I just I I'm just flabbergasted by that what we

(01:03:23):
saw at the demon Slayer concert like it was I I I don't know and
that was like seeing that's likefor I didn't like demon Slayer
but I was like seeing Taylor Swift for me essentially it was
like a professional orchestra that was just like nuts so and
the voice actors but you. Appreciate the art.
I love the art and I love just, I don't know.

(01:03:45):
Peacock Center was an incrediblevenue.
The lighting was great. Like we could, even though we
were farther back, I felt like we could see everything.
It was just like the moment was like next level, I guess to put
it that way. Like the fact it's just one of
those things. It was like you don't expect,
you weren't expecting it and then it happened and then it was

(01:04:06):
the best thing. Like when you when you don't
plan for something like that andit's literally the best thing.
It's like, I don't know, just it's and it was an incredible
experience. I don't know how to describe it,
but I mean that's more of. That tomorrow, that's.
Why you have to come to Axl likeyou don't?
What other con has not not only a professional orchestra but a

(01:04:32):
seating capacity of I think it was 7100 or something like?
That yeah, that's what. What?
Other place has a venue where 7100 people can go watch that.
My local con in the main event space I think it's like 2020
503,000 maybe and that's like the main event space for the

(01:04:56):
biggest things that they have and this was like this is a side
thing for 9100 people. This is a side event.
Incredible just. People, a lot of people just
don't even care. They're like, I'd rather go to
the sports and anime venue or goor go watch, go watch that or

(01:05:17):
something like that It. Just continues to add to my
theory that people like to watchanime, just don't actually like
it or watch it because like I just if you are a fan of anime
and a freaking live professionalorchestra is playing music for
one of the biggest shows ever made and you're like, no, I'm

(01:05:38):
gonna skip it. I think it's crazy.
And that's me saying that as somebody who is playing,
skipping it. So I learned my lesson, but I
was just like, I guess now it's like if I see orchestra on like
a panel, regardless of the show,I'm probably going to go to it.
Like this will be like my numberone thing for Oh yeah, a

(01:06:00):
weekend. That's.
Become such a selling point for me now and cons like that.
I I guess I guess my point is like I was shocked that it
didn't cap out. Yeah, for how big of a property
it is. For how big of that that I guess
blame me on the alcohol, but like I'm trying to I'm trying to
process this in my mind, but like it's the fact that we have

(01:06:22):
events at something like this and it's not capped is insane.
It's insane that this wasn't capped.
And so it's just like, what are people going to these cons for?
Because that was a panel that I thought people would wait three
hours for, but or you can just go 45 minutes late like us and
get in so. Still have a good time?

(01:06:45):
Still have a great time? You know what?
Else had a great time. I did tonight with Trent.
It was great. We talked about don't touch me.
I'm going to wrap it up. Thank you for watching Slash
listening if you have made this far and you liked parts 1 and 2,
I'm glad you like 3. Hopefully 4 would record

(01:07:06):
tomorrow is pretty good too we'll see.
I feel like this one okay for considering how much I drank
tonight I'm you know what I'm actually kind of impressed by
myself. So what do you know me for not
fucking everything up on this recording?
So that work that worked out great tomorrow should be sober.
No promises. Things might happen, but it's.

(01:07:27):
The last night we, we, we still have a few more drinks.
We got a couple. Of drinks in the fridge that we
need to kill. But we'll, we'll see.
I kind of we'll see how I feel. But want to say thank you if you
made this far, Like comment, subscribe, leave a review on
whatever platform you're watching or listening to us on,
and stay tuned for part 4 or dayfour or night four of our recap,

(01:07:51):
which should be coming out whenever this comes out.
I don't really know the structure of when these things
are coming out. So thank you and we'll see you
next time. Bye bye.
Peace, peace. Bye.
Bye bye. Bye, bye, bye bye.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
