Zach Galindo is the Executive Director of the College of Music and a lifelong musician whose passion for teaching and performing has shaped an entire community. He began giving private lessons in 2004 and has since taught more than 1,000 students. In 2014, Zach expanded his vision by hiring his first teacher, which led to the creation of his music school. By May of 2017, the brick and mortar Lake Highlands School of Music opened its doors and now serves more than 300 students of all ages.
A proud Lake Highlands High School alum from the class of 2000, Zach went on to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of North Texas with concentrations in jazz and classical guitar.
Beyond the classroom, Zach spent more than a decade touring nationally and internationally with Americana band Rodney Parker & 50 Peso Reward, sharing stages with artists including the Turnpike Troubadours, Old 97’s, Gin Blossoms, Robert Earl Keen, Randy Rogers Band, Stoney Larue, and Shakey Graves. His experience as both an educator and performer makes him a powerful advocate for the arts and a leader in growing the next generation of musicians.
