When New York City grapples with a complex migrant situation, it's time for a powerful conversation that cuts through the noise. Join me as I sit down with Fat Cat CEO, a voice not afraid to challenge the status quo, to unravel the intricacies of Mayor Adams' controversial actions amidst a critical post-pandemic recovery. In a city already pulsating with the challenges of housing, employment, and an under-pressure social services system, we're dissecting the ramifications of suing bus companies for what many see as merely fulfilling their transport function. It's a foray into the heart of the migrant crisis, where the interplay between governance, accountability, and humanitarian responsibility takes center stage.

This gripping episode peels back the layers of a reactive governance style that's in the hot seat for its latest decision to target bus companies as a means of managing the influx of migrants—both by land and now by air. We scrutinize the intricate dance of politics and practicality, questioning the long-term viability of Mayor Adams' current approach and highlighting the critical need for a proactive strategy that goes beyond courtrooms and confrontations. With Fat Cat CEO's piercing insights, we're shining a light on the need for foresight and action in a city that stands as a beacon for diversity and opportunity. Don't miss this candid take on the deep-seated issues that will shape the future of New York City.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, ladies and gentlemen, once again this is
your POD holds OG GO, and todaywe have Fat Cat CEO on board and
you're quite welcome, mr FatCat.
I want to let you know we'rehappy to have you today and you
understand our topic.

(00:21):
On what part of the game isthat?
It's this migrant situation andthese immigrants coming into
New York City.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Yes, that's a very delicate and strong situation
right now.
They running around the streetsout of control.
Mayor Adams really ain't doingnothing about it.
Now he want to bring charges upagainst bus drivers in bus
companies.
That's bringing the people here.

(00:51):
They're just doing the job atthe end of the day, right, right
, they pull up to these places, load their bus up, drop them off
at another spot, that's it.
They're just the transportationRight Now.
The governor, on the other hand, you need to renegotiate your
whole situation here.

(01:12):
We just got over a pandemicMore millions of people all over
the world.
Let us get back to what we dealwith.
Right, you know that's notgoing to take a year or two.
Do a couple of years.
You know, give us at least fiveyears.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Let me ask you do you think the mayor has any claim
whatsoever in this lawsuittowards the bus company?
What is he thinking?
Why does the mayor feel the buscompanies are responsible of
all people?

Speaker 2 (01:52):
On that aspect, like I said, I wouldn't blame the
transportation company period, right, the bus drivers, nor the
bus company.
They're getting orders fromsomeone else, so the person
that's giving them the orders, giving them the contract,
signing a check to them Right, those are the people that need
to be dealt with, not thetransportation company.

(02:14):
At the end of the day, they gotto feed their families.
I'm not mad at them.
That's right.
They're just doing their part, that's right.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
And then one of the first things came in my mind is
that, listen, you had our policeforce, our reduced police force
, sitting there and waiting forthese buses to show up in the
port authority to the portauthority with open arms, you

(02:44):
know so.
You are mad at the buscompanies, you're mad at the
governor Abbot of Texas forsending the people here and
using these migrants aspolitical points.
First of all, it's not apolitical poem.
This is my feelings.
It's not a political poem.

(03:04):
If you started to play the game, that's what it is.
You can't jump into a fight andhalfway through the fight you
get in your butt.
Then talk about you want to sue.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
You really can't do that.
What part of the game is that?

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Right.
What part of the game is thatyou had your arms open?
You quoted the base of theStatue of Liberty and, like you
said, mike, I agree with you100% it should have been a cap.
It should have been a cap.
You know, I did some researchand I found out the Statue of
Liberty was delivered.

(03:42):
I think it's June or July of 18, july 7th, june, 7th of 1885.
So I googled the number of thepopulation at that time comes to
like 1.3 million.
Now I found the population ofNew York the same square miles

(04:04):
of New York in 2023.
It is now close to 20 million, fifteen hundred percent increase
, almost 20 million more peoplewith the same square footage,
with the same square footage, and now you just let in To

(04:26):
almost 200 150,000 homelesspeople.
What was your exit plan?

Speaker 2 (04:33):
I'm happy that we got a black mayor.
Yes, right, but everythingain't for everybody and
whoever's in Europe politicalcircle, mr Adams, far as I'm
concerned, they are not lookingat the big picture.
What pictures are y'all lookingat?
I really don't know.
Because the American peoplethat I thought that I will

(04:54):
assume that you work for, that Ipay tax dollars to, will have
some type of understanding, control, respect of the American
people here.
Already that's homeless, that'sright, that serve this country
and still can't get housing.
But Welcome in immigrants.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
Yeah, I'll pass oh yeah, I watched some upgrade in
the airport and you know, grab ablack bag, no TSA checkpoint or
nothing, and get on a plane andgo.
So it's.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Instead of busing them, they're flying them.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Yeah, and you heard this, you saw this yourself and
now pass.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
I saw it myself and then Many of my you know my
workers, we, we work all nightand then traveling the morning.
And they see it in Texas.
They see it all over the place, houston, you know Dallas he's.
He's shipping them out whereveryou can.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Well, it's Southern California.
There's a ton of homelesspeople.
I mean ton.
You have to ask yourself why doyou see?

Speaker 4 (05:53):
why don't you see a lot of Like the illegals,
homeless, you know that's right, like like New York City In
hotel and hotels and they'retaking the entire hotel.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
I can't even walk into the hotel on our dime it's
not, it's not down, they don'tcome over with our bets, sit on
the street and freeze.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Yeah, truly, truly.
And that's what I'm sayingabout New York.
I'm like you're busting in ahundred and fifty thousand yes,
I'm running that number in thehole 150,000 additional homeless
people in New York City andYou're giving them legal
services, healthcare, schooling,schooling jobs.
Who's paying for this?

(06:36):
And what are you gonna startthem at?
Minimum wage.
Your minimum wage is not enoughto live off of, no, and now
you're.
You're allowing them in on thebuses and now you're bringing
them in on planes.
You're giving them first-classand priority.
That I don't understand.
What about the people that werealready here?

Speaker 3 (06:55):
and people will.
People will deny that they getanything for free.
They're just coming over herefor a better life.
Well, yeah, it's a better life.
They're getting a lot better toget free stuff.
You know, I can't really blamethem.
It's, it's the government.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
No, you really know that's right.
I've been with the big men asall.
You see, that's right.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Them by themselves, not their families and New York
is an experience in anythingthat California hasn't seen for
many, many decades.
That's the thing you know, andeverybody else is starting to
see this and get exposed to it.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
But New York is seeing this Because they're
being bussed in.
But just imagine how we feel inTexas.
Yeah, all the ranch owners youknow.
Just imagine who isn't stoppedand caught and put on a bus and
is in Houston and Dallas and youknow all the kidnappings and
shit that are going on.

(07:51):
Oh yeah, it's crazy.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
Absolutely Okay.
We're back once again.
This is your potholes, oh geegope.
And as we was talking to a fewpeople, our mayor as we already
discussed is is suing the buscompanies for transporting these
migrants to New York City.
But it's not the bus companiesfault.

(08:17):
The bus companies are paid todo a job and they do it.
Their transportation company,that's it.
They have nothing to do withmigrants being accepted to New
York City or making Sure thatthere's places for them to stay.
They have nothing to do withthat.
They get paid to go from pointA to point B.
So while we're chasing outailshere According to the mayor, you

(08:44):
know chasing out tails goingafter the bus companies Because
the migrants are not even comingthrough the buses, no more.
Well, let's put it this way inaddition To coming to New York
City on buses, now they'reflying in.
Come on, mayor, get on the ball.
So if you're going to sue thebus companies, what are you

(09:07):
going to sue the airlines nowfor flying the men?
Come on, come on, let's getwith the program.
Let's get on the ball.
We voted for certain electedofficials because we feel that
they have the ability to do thejob and to govern or Mayorize

(09:29):
the city, like they supposed to,and I don't know.
You know what I mean.
Instead of being proactive, wereact.
Even it's not good.
We're always behind the eightball.
We really, really, on a seriousnote, we really need to step
our game up.
