Keith (00:00):
Hey, good morning, good
evening, good afternoon,
whatever time it is that you aretuning into the podcast.
Thanks so much for tuning in.
Today is a wonderful day thatthe Lord has made.
Let us be glad and rejoice inhim.
We are on day eight, candleeight, and this is the last
reading.
And it is numbers seven,fifty-four through chapter
eight, verse four.
(00:21):
But I'm going to start off inverse eighty-four.
Numbers seven, verseeighty-four, and we're going to
read through chapter eight,verse four.
It says, This was the daydedication offering for the
altar on the day when it wasanointed.
From the chiefs of Israel, twelve silver plates, twelve
silver basins, twelve golddishes, each silver plate
weighing a hundred and thirtyshekels, and each basin seventy,
(00:42):
all of the silver vessels, twothousand four hundred shekels
according to the shekel of thesanctuary, the twelve golden
dishes full of incense, weighingten shekels apiece, according to
the shekel of the sanctuary, allthe gold of the dishes being a
hundred and twenty shekels, allthe cattle from the burnt
offering, twelve bulls, twelverams, twelve male lambs a year
(01:02):
old, with their grain offering, and twelve male goats for a sin
offering, and all the cattle forthe sacrifice of peace
offerings, twenty-four bulls, the ram sixty, the male's goats
sixty, the male's lamb a yearold, sixty.
This was the dedication offeringfor the altar after it was
anointed.
And when Moses went into thetent of the meeting to speak
with the Lord, he heard thevoice speaking to him from above
(01:25):
the mercy seat that was on theark of the testimony, from
between the two cherubim, and itspoke to him.
Chapter eight.
Now the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, Speak to Aaron and say
to him, When you set up thelamps, the seven lamps shall
give light in front of thelampstand.
And Aaron did so.
He set up its lamps in front ofthe lampstand, as the Lord
commanded Moses.
And this was the workmanship ofthe lampstand, hammer work of
(01:47):
gold, from its base to itsflowers, it was hammerwork
according to the pattern thatthe Lord has shown Moses, so he
made the lampstand.
Hey, so this has been anexperience for me.
Uh I hope if you, you know, traveled through day one all the
way to today, that it was umencouraging to you and also
(02:09):
challenge you because again, that's what this podcast is all
about is to challenge us to movebeyond the status quo of our
faith, move beyond just the Iwas baptized when I was 12, or I
believed in God all my life, andyou know, whatever you hear on
Sunday is as much time as youspend in the word.
My challenge for you is to digdeep, right?
(02:31):
It's to literally go into yourword every single day, um, you
know, build that discipline, build that habit, um, build that
that Barean nature that's in allof us, the ability to do it
anyway.
And that's to literally seek itout for yourself, right?
Study the word, study to showyourself approved.
You don't have to go to seminaryto know the word, you don't have
(02:52):
to go to seminary to to dive inthe Hebraic language or the
Greek and really be able todiscern for yourself and rely on
the Holy Spirit to what's beingsaid and what's being taught,
and what convictions should youhave in your own life?
Um man.
So much so much has happened uhthese last you know seven days.
(03:17):
Um I I've I've studied so muchand I've I've looked at how much
hate there is right now towardsthe Jewish community, how much
um confusion and hate there iseven in the Christian circles
regarding Hanukkah.
Um again, this is not asalvation issue.
This this intent of studyingHanukkah and reading what every
(03:39):
Orthodox Jew is reading isreally about what we're grafted
into, right?
Because ultimately, if youbelieve in Yahshua the Messiah,
if you believe in Jesus Christ,we were grafted into something,
right?
Like it God didn't just takeaway the blessings of Israel and
apply them to AmericanChristians.
He didn't just take away theblessings of Israel being his
(04:00):
chosen people and say, nah, youknow, now it's this new thing.
And it and if you're anevangelical, now you're the
chosen people of God.
Right?
But the reality is anybody whoprofesses the name Jesus Christ
as Lord over their lives andthey live that out, right?
And that is producing fruit, youare the chosen people, right?
You are um, you know, representatives and ambassadors
(04:22):
to the kingdom of heaven.
And likewise we should live outthat word and live out that that
directorate that's been given tous by the Holy Spirit, that
directorate that's been given tous by God Himself, right?
And so it's not a matter of doesHanukkah point to Yeshua, does
Pesak point to Yahshua?
Does Shabbat or Sabbath point toYeshua?
(04:44):
Um, the whole word points toJesus Christ.
From Genesis to Revelations,it's all about Jesus, right?
It's all about the Messiah, andit's all for, and if you can see
the pattern of the people, ifyou see the pattern of the
Israelis and the nation and thekingdoms being split between the
northern kingdom and thesouthern kingdom and Judah and
Israel, you see all that come toa head in the New Testament, and
(05:07):
you see Christ lay his life downas a perfect uh Kaporah for our
sins, as the perfect blamelessLamb, you know, spotless, the
the only one to be it and do itwithout sin.
When you see all that happen,it's just like, man, thank you,
God.
Thank you for allowing us thisopportunity because if it was
left up to us, we would surelyfail.
And so now the question becomesthe the real testament to if
(05:31):
you're watching this today andyou missed all other all the
other videos, scrap that, right?
The question for today is isyour life, right, the life you
are currently living out, ifyou're in America, if you're a
Christian, is the life thatyou're living, right?
All this emphasis on Christmasand the gifts that's coming this
week, right?
What does your life look likeoutside of this season?
(05:53):
Outside of the holy day season, right?
Let's get rid of Chris Mass orChrist Mass, right?
Let's let's move pastCatholicism here, and let's just
ask, what is your life lived outoutside of the holiday season
when everybody is expected to bemerry?
When everybody is expected tobe, you know, nice and kind and
(06:14):
so on and so forth, minus allthe Christmas movies that show
otherwise when we're trying tochase down and hunt down that
toy or that last-minute shoppingitem that we're trying to get
our friends or our family.
Outside of this holiday season, outside of this week, does
January look like Christmas inyour spirit?
Does February, March, does July, does the election uh uh season
(06:36):
look like Christmas in yourspirit, right?
Let that light, the light ofHanukkah, right?
The light of Christmas, Jesuscoming into the world, the stars
shining bright, right?
That the the the wise men saw.
Let that be persistentthroughout the year.
Not just a January 1stresolution, not just because,
(06:57):
you know, tis the season to bejolly.
No, it's not a season, it's alifestyle.
It's not a day that we rememberit's a life lived out in our
spirit and our flesh and ourwords and how we communicate and
how we love.
That is the is the real evidenceof our faith.
That is the real evidence of oursalvation.
And you might be saying toyourself, whoa, whoa, whoa,
(07:19):
don't start talking about mysalvation, but I'm being genuine
there, right?
Because we can do a lot of goodthings and still get to the
kingdom of heaven until thatday, on that day, Jesus says to
us, depart from me because Inever knew you.
And then we could say, ButJesus, I did all these things in
your name.
And he's like, it's a coolstory, bro.
Out of line, right?
It's not about what we do, it'sabout how we live and why we
(07:39):
live, right?
And so I just challenge you, move beyond the season, move
beyond the holiday, and let thisbe a persistent thing, a
persistent dedication, apersistent rededicating and
lighting of the menorah, if youwill, of your Holy Spirit and of
your internal self, the death offlesh.
Let this be a consistent thingthat we live out on a random
(08:02):
Wednesday in August.
Right?
The same way we should say 'tisthe season should be in July.
Should be in May, should be inMarch.
Right?
It should be no circumstance inwhich we're not joyful for the
Lord.
It should be in no circumstancethat we're not giving in a
cheerful giver for the Lord on arandom Tuesday.
(08:24):
Right?
It's a lifestyle lived out.
It doesn't just, it's notexclusive to Sunday, and it's
not exclusive to your churchbuilding, is not exclusive to
these moments of celebration andthe feast.
It's a whole life changed.
Right?
As we talked about, I think onday five or day four, you were
purchased with a price, right?
(08:45):
Your ability to be able to say,Jesus, I've a father, that
ability, that ability to professthe name of Jesus Christ and the
actual power come out of you, that was purchased with a price.
We are not our own, right?
And so we owe everything.
This whole little podcast, thecamera, my house, all of this
stuff is his.
(09:06):
Right?
It's not mine.
And but the joy and the faiththat I have and the and the
bubbling up inside, the oiloverflowing, all of that stuff,
that right there is evidence ofJesus' coming and dying and
being the Kapoor for my sin.
We talked this week about a lotof stuff that they did to
dedicate this temple, right?
(09:28):
It was a whole bunch of oxen.
We just talked about 2,400 lambsgot slaughtered, a whole bunch
of grain got put on the altar, and it was all in regards to,
you know, uh an offering beingpleasant and a pleasant aroma to
God's sight, right?
And so now our life should bethat pleasant aroma that's
consistently burning.
(09:48):
You know, that that one candlein the middle of the menorah
representative of the helper,right?
And who did Jesus say thathelper would be during these
times when he goes back up?
It said it would be the HolySpirit.
And so that helper should beliterally lighting the flame
inside of you every single day.
So don't take this day or thisweek or or this upcoming holiday
(10:11):
as a moment to reflect on Jesus?
As a moment to reflect on whatyou're thankful for, as a moment
to reflect on how great God is.
That should be a dailyreflection.
That should be a when I wake upin the morning and I have breath
in my lungs, I can shouthallelujah and amen, because I
am no longer held captive tosin.
(10:34):
I've been set free.
That's the whole purpose, right?
So if you think back to theHellenistic uh idolatry that was
going on before you know theMaccabees came and did what they
did, like that's our old life.
That's representing our oldlife.
We had all types of idols anddifferent things going on in the
(10:54):
sanctuary that's supposed to begods, right?
And just like the leader of thattime, which I, by the way, still
have yet to be able to pronouncehis name, just like the leader
of that time, the Greek leader, who thought that he was a direct
descendant of Zeus, we ourselveshave become many gods.
And so, at what point do we say, thank you, God, for
(11:16):
rededicating, for coming in likea storm and tearing out that old
self that thought he was thestuff, or that thought that she
was the stuff.
Whatever it might be.
Thank you, Lord, for removingthe blasphemous idols that I had
in my sanctuary.
And God, if there be any more, right?
Because you know what the wordsays, when you're when your
(11:36):
temple's clean, when the houseis clean, if it's not, if it's
not barricaded up, if you don'thave the Holy Spirit sitting
there, if you're not maintainingthat cleanliness, seven more
will come in.
We don't want to go back to theold ways, Lord.
We want to keep you centermostin our hearts and our minds and
in our spirit.
And so just remember that as yougo forward, I enjoy spending
(12:00):
this time with you.
Uh, this probably be the last umpodcast until the new year.
Um I thank you all for hangingout with me.
And I hope that this messageencouraged you and blessed you.
It just maybe even caused arededication in your own life.
And um, yeah, love you guys, andGod willing, we will see each
(12:21):
other next year.
Until then, be blessed.
