(00:23):

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Hello and welcome to day 11 in our series, the 12
Days of Christmas.
I am your host, terry Cullums, and I am excited about our topic
today.
We've been talking about them alittle every day throughout
this series and today we'regoing to dive in and talk about

(00:51):
how to go about them.
Love them or hate them, weusually all set goals.
It may be required for your job, or you may just love the idea
of growth through setting goals.
Today, we're shaking things upa bit and we're going to put a
fresh spin on goal setting.
I started out with the idea ofproducing an episode 12 days in

(01:14):
a row.
I was so enamored with the ideaof doing something a little
innovative and different withthe whole concept.
I didn't really consider all ofthe impacts and challenges that
producing a daily show wouldbring, but this is truly the

(01:35):
essence of goal setting.
We not only future predictsomething we want in our lives,
but we have to break it downinto actionable steps to help
get us there.
We also need some level ofaccountability, at the very
minimum to ourselves, and we allhave to have something to tell
us how we're progressing.

(01:57):
Finally, we do have to askourselves is what we want
relative to our values.
I have this memory floatingaround in my head as I was
preparing for today.
It was a time in my careerwhere I was working with another
sales manager and she and Iwould dream up these elaborate

(02:18):
sales competitions to make theworkplace fun and to engage and
motivate our sales teams.
The ideas would be so big andcomplicated and when we would
try to implement them, werealized we would need to scale
down our ideas a little bit tomake them successful.
So don't be afraid to have abig, audacious goal, but also

(02:43):
don't feel as if you have failedif you have to adjust a goal as
you go through the steps to tryto implement it.
We all know about SMART goals, but how about we give it a fun
and engaging twist?
Are you ready for SMART 2.0?
Okay, here we go.
By the way, I will put these inour Facebook group, so don't

(03:05):
worry if you don't have a pen towrite them down right now.
So for S, we're going to make itsparkling vision Instead of
specific.
Let's kick off our goals withsparkling vision.
Set a goal that is not justspecific, but one that lights up
your imagination.
Imagine your goal like adazzling gem of sparkling

(03:26):
inspiration and excitement.
Don't be afraid to daydream andcreate a vision for it.
Okay, for M, we're going to domagnetic motivation.
Swap out measurable formagnetic motivation.
Make your goal irresistiblyattractive.
Ask yourself what's themagnetic force pulling you

(03:47):
towards this goal.
Find that inner drive thatmakes you leap out of bed in the
morning ready to tackle the day.
For A, we're going to do anadaptive action plan.
Let's forget attainable andembrace an adaptive action plan.
Instead of focusing onattainability, let's think about
adaptability.
Life is dynamic and so shouldbe your approach.

(04:11):
Be ready to adapt your plan asyou go, keeping it flexible and
responsive to changes.
For R, we're going to doResonant Rewards.
Rewards transform relevant intoResonant Rewards.
Make sure your goal isn't justrelative to your life, but

(04:31):
resonates deeply with yourvalues and your passions.
Remember to consider rewardsalong the way, not just the
outcome, but the journey itself.
Also, remember to ask yourselfwhat resonates with my soul.
For T, we're going to doTimeless Tracking Instead of
time bound.

(04:51):
Aim for timeless trackingInstead of stressing over a
deadline.
Focus on the timeless aspect ofprogress.
Keep track of your achievementsand celebrate the small
victories and milestones alongthe way.
Timeless tracking is more aboutthe journey, not just the

(05:12):
destination.
Okay, so there you have itTaking vision, magnetic
motivation, adaptive action plan, resonant Rewards and Timeless
Tracking.
This is the revamped Smart 2.0approach to setting goals that
stick.
Remember, it's not just aboutachieving the goal, but enjoying

(05:36):
the journey and becoming thebest version of yourself along
the way.
I will end today with a meaningof 11 Piper's Piping.
The 11 Piper's Piping can beassociated with harmony and
creativity.
I encourage you today toreflect on the importance of
finding balance and expressingcreativity in both personal and

(05:59):
professional pursuits.
If you were inspired by today'scontent, please give it a
thumbs up and leave a commentfor us on YouTube.
You are always welcome to joinus on the Facebook group page
for what women want today forfurther discussion and community
.
All right, that's it for today.

(06:20):
Until next time, remember tokeep reaching for those
sparkling visions.
I look forward to being withyou tomorrow for our final day
in the series, the 12 Days ofChristmas.
Bye-bye, amanda.
I don't know if this everhappens to you, but I sometimes
will learn.
I learn something really coolon a podcast, on a YouTube,

(06:42):
video, audiobook, whatever.
I think I'm going to rememberit and then I forget.
Does that ever happen to you?

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Yeah, I call it brain after 40 all the time.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
That's what we'll officially call it, but we've
come up with something.
Do you want to introduce it?

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Sure, it's from an app called Quick Jim Quick, and
it's an acronym called FAST.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Yeah, and it stands for Facebook.
So we're inviting youofficially right now to come
over and join us on Facebook.
Get involved with the community, share your favorite episodes
with your friends on Facebook.

Speaker 3 (07:13):

can't remember anything if youdon't act.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
And S is for subscribe.
Make sure you're subscribed toour YouTube channel.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
