The data protection landscape has fundamentally transformed, and HYCU's groundbreaking integration with Dell Technologies has arrived just in time. At Dell Technologies World, Simon Taylor, CEO and founder of HYCU, unveiled what he calls the "Tower of Power"—a revolutionary expansion that brings 86 on-premises, cloud, and SaaS integrations fully supported by Dell's Data Domain Virtual Edition (DDVE)

This partnership marks a pivotal shift for Dell customers worldwide. No longer is Data Domain limited to VMware environments; now it extends its powerful deduplication capabilities to Nutanix, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, and dozens more critical systems. Customer testimonials reveal staggering efficiency gains, with some reporting deduplication ratios as high as 60:1. For organizations managing petabytes of Microsoft 365 data or complex multi-cloud environments, this integration delivers unprecedented storage optimization while maintaining enterprise-grade protection.

What sets this solution apart is Haiku's commitment to both simplicity and comprehensive coverage. Their approach tackles a stark reality: the average mid-market company now stores data across 330 different silos. Rather than requiring separate backup tools for each environment—imagine if every app on your phone needed its own backup system!—HYCU provides a single unified platform. This consolidation is particularly valuable amid today's economic uncertainty, allowing organizations to simplify vendor management while enhancing security through features like R-Shield's true immutability for all data types. As Taylor emphasizes, many organizations aren't properly securing their SaaS and cloud backups, leaving them vulnerable to both attacks and compliance failures.

Ready to transform how you protect your modern data estate? Discover how HYCU and Dell can help you achieve complete data control with unprecedented efficiency and simplicity.

Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey everybody.
We are live from DellTechnologies World with Haiku, a
longstanding Dell partner, witha ton of news, simon, how are
you, evan?

Speaker 2 (00:12):
I'm doing great.
It's thrilling to see you hereagain in this great show.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
It is a great show and it's a very newsworthy day
in particular, so let's jumpright in First.
Maybe introduce yourself andthe mission at Haiku for the
folks watching listening Sure.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
I'm Simon Taylor, the CEO and founder of Haiku.
Haiku is the world's fastestgrowing data protection as a
service company.
We've got about 4,600 customersin 78 countries worldwide and
we are proud to be a Dell ETC'sformerly select, both sponsor
and community member, meaningthat we are sold on the Dell

(00:48):
price list in every countryacross the world.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
That's amazing, and you've long supported Dell, but
what's new and noteworthy abouttoday's news in particular?
That you have a lot going onright there in the booth with
600?

Speaker 2 (01:05):
right there in the booth with 600.
Well, as you can see behind me,evan, you know we've got what
we call the tower of power herefrom Haiku, this sort of giant
purple obelisk looking structurebehind me, and what we're
talking about today is that wenow offer 86 on-prem public
cloud and SaaS integrationsacross the Haiku pipeline and
platform.
But not only that today whatwe're introducing is that all 86

(01:26):
of those integrations are nowfully supported by data domain
and data domain virtual edition,or DDVE.
So really, simply, for any Dellcustomer out there in the world
today who loves all of thededuplication power of data
domain, today you can stopthinking about DD just for
VMware.
You can use it for Nutanix, youcan use it for SaaS, you can

(01:48):
use it for cloud across 86 ofthe world's most powerful
integrations.
I love to talk about GoogleCloud, azure and, of course, aws
and the fact that now you canactually duplicate that data at
source and at rest.
You can move that over to yourtarget easily, quickly and more
efficiently than ever before.
I think this is really exciting, because I think that Dell

(02:10):
customers are loyal, they'reexcited, and who doesn't love a
good data domain?
But the modern data estate hasfundamentally changed in the
last 10 years.
You know it, I know it we'renot keeping all of our data
on-prem anymore and we look atthis almost like a giant net
that goes up into the sky andcaptures all that SaaS and cloud
data and brings it right downso it can be harnessed into the

(02:30):
power of data domain and powerprotect.
So we're really excited aboutthis.
I think you know, when we cameto the product team at Dell and
said we were going to do this, they sort of said you know, this
is going to take years.
Here we are, 12 months laterand we've got 86 of the world's
most important SaaS, cloud andon-prem applications and
databases fully supported bydata demand.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
That's fantastic.
Well, let's talk about impact,as always.
What are Dell customers andpartners telling you about what
some of the gains they're seeingwill see on the show floor?
What are they excited about?
What are they taking away?

Speaker 2 (03:07):
I mean it's pretty shocking actually.
I had a customer come in and Ithought it was tongue in cheek.
They said we're getting 60 toone dedupe ratios, you know,
just using iCOO for Nutanix.
So this is a very simpleexample.
But you've got a customer herethat loves Nutanix, loves
backing up, recovering theirdata using Haiku, and now they
get all that joy and experienceof using data domain and DD

(03:28):
Boost even as a part of thatprocess.
We had another customeryesterday come up and say, oh my
gosh, office 365, we've got100,000 Office 365 users across
the world and when I think aboutthe petabytes of data that are
being backed up, the fact that Ican now use data domain virtual
edition to reduce thatfootprint is so incredibly

(03:50):
important.
So I think this is a story ofefficiency.
It's a story of consolidation,it's a story of saying I no
longer need 10 different backupvendors when one will do and I
think that's the true power ofHaiku.
It's featuring all 86 of thosedifferent on-prem public cloud
and SaaS workloads all under asingle pane of glass, all

(04:11):
through one platform.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Phenomenal and in the news you mentioned complete
data control a couple of times.
What does that really mean forthe enterprise, especially in
the many regulated industries inwhich you sell and
security-sensitive verticals?

Speaker 2 (04:27):
You know, evan, it's a great question.
It's interesting we get thatquestion a lot.
What do you mean by full datacontrol?
We really mean that, right, Ithink what's happened in the
industry.
Over the last 10 years, more andmore data protection vendors
have tried to become storagecompanies, so they start to sell
storage.
They stop caring about whatmatters to the customer, which
is single pane of glass, reducing your footprint, cost

(04:50):
efficiencies.
What we say is we give thecustomer the choice.
We give the choice back to thecustomer.
Everything that we offer istrue sass.
You can use cloud as a target.
You can use on-prem as a target.
You can most certainly use yourdell infrastructure as a target
, but it's your choice.
You're free to choose.
I think that's, ultimately, oneof the most beautiful things
about iq.

(05:11):
It's that freedom, it's givingthe control back to the customer
and it's the efficiency thatthen comes from using data
domain in order to make surethat you're getting the absolute
bang for the buck when it comesto being able to duplicate your
data as well.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Fantastic.
Let's talk about recovery.
You're offering not justgranular but offline recovery as
well.
Why is that so important?
How does it sort of change thedata protection discussion?

Speaker 2 (05:38):
You know, I think this is one of the most
interesting things.
You know, a lot of times, whenI think about retention and I
think about what's happening interms of the marketplace around
compliance, more and morecustomers are saying I always
knew I needed another copy, Ialways knew that I had to

(05:59):
protect my data on frown.
But what about Sassaflap?
And I think what's happeningwith the regulatory industries
around the world, evan, isthey're really starting to look
at this more closely and they'resort of saying, hey, where is
your separate copy?
How are you actually achievingresiliency across the entire
modern data state?
And so I think one of thethings that we introduced just
last week was what we callR-Shield, which is the ability

(06:20):
to provide true threat detectionand support across on-prem,
public cloud and SaaS, and wehad to put that down to four
different categories.
We said, look, resiliency doesnot stop on-prem.
All the time, what we hear isis, oh, we've got all this cyber
resiliency.
And when we looked closely atit, we said, no, no, you're
protecting and you're resilientfor VMware.

(06:42):
What are you doing with yourSaaS data?
What are you doing with yourcloud data?
What are you doing with yourNutanix data?
And this is where we sort oftook a much more holistic
approach and we said threatdetection on-prem.
We actually then said we'regoing to provide what we call
RLOC, where we can provide trueimmutable copies for your SaaS
and cloud data.
You might think, simon, come on, we all have immutable copies.

(07:04):
You would be amazed, evan.
People in the world todayaren't locking up their SaaS and
cloud data.
They use soft lock.
They use things that areadjustable, but when the
regulators come a-calling, theyhave no way to prove that these
are actual immutable copies Likewho's done it.
For the first time ever, we cannow provide true mutability,
true lock, a hard lock when itcomes to SASS and cloud.

(07:27):
So I think that the R-Shieldcomponent is the resiliency
story of the future.
I think it's a story that trulysupports the modern data state
and I think it's phenomenal forDell customers, which is why
we're so excited to show it hereat the show today.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
That is amazing.
You mentioned a single pane ofglass and one of the big selling
points now is the ability tomanage all of this from one
platform and integrationsimplicity of user experience,
skus the whole nine yards.
How are you seeing thesimplification working out for
the IT teams?
In the field, who are prettybusy and overwhelmed.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
I'll tell you.
I think that the simplificationmessage resonates today more
than ever before.
I think that consolidation isthe word on everybody's lips.
There's so much uncertainty inthe market today.
People do not want to go outand buy another platform for
another workload and I think, asI've said to you, evan, for
years, the reality is that theaverage mid-market company we're

(08:24):
not talking enterprise theaverage mid-market company keeps
their data in no less than 330different data silos.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Imagine if you had a backup product for each one of
those.
It'd be like, instead of havingiCloud backup, every single app
on your iPhone has a separatebackup recovery tool.
It's nonsense.
So I think the fact that we'refinally bringing together
on-prem public cloud and SaaS ina highly complex, highly
diffused modern data state andat a time when there's a lot of

(08:54):
economic uncertainty in themarketplace, all of that comes
together and we can do one word, which is we want to consolidate
.
We want to consolidate on IQbecause it's simple, it's
comprehensive and it does giveyou that total coverage.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
That's fantastic.
So what's in store for the restof Dell Technologies Week?
What are you excited about?
And, with a couple more days togo, what's on your radar?

Speaker 2 (09:16):
You know, I want to give a big thank you to Travis,
vigil, david Noy, all of ourfriends in the Dell product team
.
You know they've beenabsolutely phenomenal to us and
we've spent a lot of time withthat group, really getting to
understand what's been happeningin the Dell product world and
how we fit into it.
And I think again, consolidation, cyber resilience,
ai these are the cornerstonesof the Dell message right now

(09:40):
and it's exactly what Haikubrings to bear when it comes to
data protection.
So for me, it's going to beabout spending a lot of time
with customers making sure weget the message out there, and
it's about screaming data domain, data domain, power, protect at
the top of our lungs andgetting all of those workloads
properly supported by theworld's best DDoS.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
And that's, of course , from Dell Mic drop moment.
Fantastic, so you have so manygreat resources out there on the
website at Haiku.
But what are you lookingforward to?
The next few weeks?
You do roadshows and webinarsand workshops, lots of learning
opportunities.
Look forward to catching up,getting a full your feedback

(10:24):
after the event post event we'lldo a post event review.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
But thanks, simon for joining, absolutely thrilled
again.
I apologize it's a little bitloud in here, but uh, it's been
terrific chatting with you.
Great, always to see you againand thanks for the interest in
iq.
We're really thrilled aboutwhat we launched today and it's
a pleasure to talk to you aboutit well you.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
You came in crystal clear.
So thanks for joining from abusy show floor at Dell
Technologies World Go Team.
Purple Congratulations.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
Simon, thank you, evan Take care Thanks.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
Bye-bye.
