Speaker 1 (00:06):
Hey everybody, it's
Jeremy from when Walls Can Talk,
and I'm excited to finallywelcome you back to our first
bonus episode of season four.
It has been a long time.
It's been a long time sinceI've sat down and recorded
Monthly Tarot Magic as a bonusepisode for this podcast.
I think it's been since likeNovember of 2023, 2022.
(00:32):
I don't remember.
But for those of you who havejoined the show since then and
may have never checked out oneof these episodes before, I
should probably offer a littlebit of a disclaimer here For our
listeners that are primarilyinterested in the paranormal and
the dark history and ourstorytelling and production
value and just kind of thatimmersive content.
(00:54):
I just want to highlight thatthis is not that, and if this
just doesn't feel like your cupof tea or something you
particularly feel the need ordesire to engage with in
addition to the rest of theepisodes, I want you to know
that that's more than okay.
This is probably not foreverybody, and if it's not for
(01:17):
you, I just want to kindly letyou know that I will not be
offended if you choose to moveon and just join us on our next
regular episode, but I do feellike there is a huge audience
base within our podcast.
That is very interested, almostas a window through which to
also look at the largerconversations around personal
(01:39):
growth and development, spirituality topics, around the
metaphysical, the esoteric andjust kind of our own connection
in our place in the universe.
And as a witch and medium, Ithink I have a very unique
opportunity on a space like thisto infuse my own takes, my own
(02:02):
vision and insight into thispodcast space in a way that I
can't necessarily always do insome of the other episodes.
And I also kind of treat thesemonthly tarot magic episodes as
a personal gift to myself, because it can be very hard
sometimes to slow down and stopenough to reflect on the month
(02:24):
ahead of us in any kind ofuseful or meaningful way, just
with the hustle and bustle oflife.
That can be one of the firstthings to go by the wayside,
like our meditation time or ourdivinatory practices.
Or, if you're not a witch orconnect to the metaphysical,
this might also be your prayertime.
Perhaps your journaling timemetaphysical, this might also be
(02:46):
your prayer time, perhaps yourjournaling time.
We can deprioritize thatself-care if you will, because
from our perspective sometimesit doesn't feel like it reflects
in our life outwardly, so itperhaps doesn't bring income, or
doesn't feed the kids and getthem to bed, or doesn't take
care of the things we have to doat our busy job, or you know.
(03:08):
So this is my opportunity, forboth myself and for you.
If this is the only half hour45 minutes to an hour that you
get to stop and just drop in andreflect and think on some big
topics and ideas, particularlyfocused through the viewpoint of
the month ahead, then I am veryexcited to provide that space
(03:30):
for you.
So Monthly Tarot Magic began atthe beginning of this podcast,
back in I think it was June of2021.
And I think I've done maybe six, seven, maybe eight of them
over the course of the show, andit fell by the wayside for all
the reasons that I justdescribed before.
And for some reason, I just gotthis very, very strong sense
(03:52):
from the universe that MonthlyTarot Magic belongs back in the
show again, that I havesomething to share and to say
that may be beneficial to somepeople and that it was time to
bring it back.
So I'm excited to be here.
I have taken a lot of notes,I've done some of my own
journaling, I've pulled cardsaround this topic, and my goal
(04:15):
here is to try and gather someinsights from the universe, from
divinity, divine, my guides, whatever word you associate with
, the power of the universeoutside of ourselves, whether
that be, god, that be, whateverthat looks like for you.
My goal here is just to try andfind something in that void to
(04:37):
reach out and grab and bringback down into myself through my
channel out into the world, that may in some way just give
you a little bit of insight anddirection for the month ahead.
Sometimes, even when things arehard and difficult, all we need
is just a little validation fromsomething outside of us that
says yes, the things you'reexperiencing right now are 100%
(05:03):
right on whether they be good orbad.
I remember some of the mostspiny and difficult tarot pulls
I've ever pulled for myself, andby spiny I mean pulling cards
that have typically beenassociated with negative
connotations, like the Tower, the Three of Swords, things like
that.
I found some of those pulls, rather than freaking out and
(05:24):
being like, oh my god, somethingterrible is about to happen, I
find myself more feeling like,oh, thank god, at least tarot in
the universe is like, hey, yeah, I see it.
Things are challenging, andhere's why I find that to be a
very validating experience.
So I just hope to provide alittle bit of that for you today
.
As with anything in ametaphysical walk or anything
(05:47):
divinatory or anything like that, I also want to permission you
by saying some of the thingsthat I'm going to say in this
episode may not land and may notfeel like wow, that's spot on
for me, spot on for me, butother aspects might.
(06:07):
So if you find yourselfdiscouraged or frustrated at any
point, like, oh, that justdoesn't feel like right to me,
just know that a that is okay.
One of the things I always sayto any of my clients is take
what works and leaves what andleave what doesn't.
But also it may be meant forsomebody else.
So I just hope that, bysprinkling in the breadcrumbs
through what I've heard, that wecan find something together
(06:35):
that feels useful and beneficialin some way.
Approaching this today, Idefinitely feel a certain level
of anxiety, because it's been along time since I recorded an
episode like this and, to befully transparent, I'm also
walking into this one todaywithout a formalized idea of
what the title or theme is yet,and I just felt this need to
just start recording and that itwould come to me.
Over the course of it.
(06:55):
I've definitely journaled a lot, pulled a lot of cards and
reflect on it, but it hasn'tdistilled itself down to one
central message yet, one mantraof sorts that we can repeat
throughout the journey of Aprilin order to feel connected and
aligned to these energies.
So I think it's time to jump in.
(07:15):
I don't know that I haveanything else to add yet, but
let's pull some cards, let'sjust start with the basics and
(07:38):
kind of an overview April 2024,where are we April 2024.
Where are we?
So we are in Aries season, whichbegan on March 21st of this
year, and Aries season is a very, very powerful one, and the
more I think about it today,it's actually very interesting
(07:59):
that monthly tarot magic isreturning on this month of the
year or during this season ofthe year, because Aries is the
first sign of the Zodiac wheel,if there is such a thing as a
first, so to speak, withsomething that's as cyclical as
the Zodiac Aries season, and Ithink anybody who knows an Aries
or is an Aries can relate tothis.
(08:20):
I have an image that was givento me by my tarot teacher,
lindsay Mack out of PortlandOregon that I've always returned
to and just found like deeply, deeply true for me of what Aries
(08:43):
season is.
Aries season is the first gaspand the first scream of a
newborn infant entering theworld, that moment when air
enters their lungs for the firsttime and they release that
explosive cry.
Very often and I get that notevery newborn cries or screams
at birth, but I think the energyis still the same.
Aries carries this quality of Iam here, I have a right to be
(09:07):
here and I have something to say, which is why Ares can
sometimes come across a littlebit abrasive or perhaps a little
bit confrontational at times.
In its highest quality, ares isneither of those things.
Aries is neither of thosethings.
(09:30):
Instead, it's asserting itsright to exist and asserting its
place in the world.
So Aries is kind of summed upby this idea truly of new
beginnings and a sort ofpioneering spirit and also this
very unbridled raw energy thatcomes with creation, gestation,
birth.
And I think what's sointeresting about this is that
(09:53):
in Aries season we have theopportunity to almost bridle
this unbridled energy and use itfor our own goals development,
passions.
It for our own goals, development, passions, progress
because it has more drive thanmany of the other signs of the
zodiac.
So what I want us to think about, journal about consider for
(10:16):
Aries season, is what are youand what in your soul are you
truly passionate about right now?
What in your soul are you trulypassionate about right now and
how could you potentially usethe available energy of Aries
season to get maybe one stepcloser towards achieving
whatever that passion or thatgoal is?
And I want you to also try toseparate this idea of passion
(10:38):
and goals from this concept oflike.
Somehow you have to be acreator or a creative person, or
there are other expressions ofpassion personal development,
goals, um, passion towardsself-acceptance, passion towards
(11:00):
facing some trauma in your lifethat's coming forward is
particularly important right now.
Passion towards being morereceptive and being more
listening.
There's so many different waysin which passion can express
itself.
It's not always going to be thecreative fire, the creative
output, but really think aboutthat.
What has been on your mind andon your soul lately?
(11:22):
That's like, hey, I really wantto figure this shit out.
And how can we use Aries seasonto move in that direction?
And also maybe think on areasin your life where you're
desiring a little bit moreindependence and initiative and
just a little bit more assertionof your right to exist.
(11:42):
Are there places you could belouder about something, speak
out on something, share youremotions in a more loud or
prominent way?
There's a lot with Aries seasonthat's worth considering, and I
think another thing that's superimportant about April and oh
boy is that from April 1st toApril 25th of this year, we are
(12:07):
in Mercury retrograde in Aries, which means it means a lot of
things.
Mercury retrograde is a littlebit hard to pin down in a short,
concise type of way.
Mercury retrograde is really atime for reflection, review,
reassessment, particularlyaround areas of communication,
(12:27):
technology, travel, identity, all of these things which can
and will make the month of Aprilfeel a little bit conflicting
and confusing.
Because you have one thing,Mercury retrograde, that's
encouraging you to slow down, think before you speak, take
your time, not identify yourselfwith immediate emotions,
(12:49):
particularly in heated moments, and then Aries is also trying to
do all of those things.
So I want you to also be awarethat there's going to be some
times where this month is goingto feel conflict, like
conflictory Is that a word?
I don't know, but you know whatI mean or it's going to feel
like from moment to moment, yourperception and desires and
(13:10):
emotions and feelings arechanging, kind of like that, and
don't Freak out, I guess isreally.
What I'm coming to is likereally really do your best to to
listen, to drop in, to check in, to second guess and quantify
your emotions of like wow, bigemotions will come up and be
(13:32):
like wow, do I really, do Iidentify with this emotion?
Is this a reaction to something?
And consider also how youassert yourself.
If you're stepping forward incommunication or stepping
forward and allowing yourself tobe seen in Aries energy, make
sure that you take the time tothink about how and why.
(13:53):
Are you being genuinely true toyour beliefs but also being
aware of considering otherpeople's perspectives?
There's a difference betweenstepping forward in a way that's
like shoving your ideology andyour vision of how things should
be down people's throats withno space for their reception to
(14:13):
those ideas, and then there'salso engaging in dialogue, which
I think is also really, reallyinteresting, because there's a
lot about listening in the cardsthat have stepped forward today
.
So I also will plug in the shownotes.
I've written a blog from alittle while back called survive
Mercury Retrograde.
That would be a great resource, but I will reference one thing
(14:46):
that I share in the blog, andthis is not an idea that I have
personally.
This was something thatactually comes from a fellow
drag entertainer that's a dearfriend of mine and creates
incredible malas.
So if you ever need a mala, definitely check them out.
Their name is Anastasia andthey made this quote once in a
live, I think, on social media awhile back and they said I'm
(15:11):
paraphrasing this hereessentially, but they equated
Mercury retrograde to a seasonwhere it can feel like the Wi Fi
signal to our own guides andguardian angels is blocked,
making it a little bit morechallenging to receive intuitive
guidance and support, naturallythe way it might feel
accessible to us the rest of thetime, and so it can feel a
(15:32):
little bit like we're navigatinglife on our own, without the
usual divine assistance thatwe're accustomed to.
I think that's a great way ofexplaining it.
I think sometimes our angers, frustrations, short temper that
can be very characteristic ofMercury retrograde have way more
to do with the fact thatsuddenly we feel very alone and
(15:54):
very unsupported by the externalforces that can feel very
available to us, especiallythose of us that are
particularly empathetic orsensitive or just spend a lot of
time connected to thoseenergies, and so I think this
blog might be a really greatresource to just give a peruse,
see what you think.
(16:15):
The next thing on ourastrological forecast, if you
will, is we have a new moonsolar eclipse in Aries coming up
on April 8th, and then we havethe pink full moon in Scorpio, I
believe, on the 25th of April.
I'll triple check that, but I'mpretty sure that's right.
(16:35):
New moons, especially, aredefinitely times for setting
intentions around what we wantthe next cycle to be and really
thinking that through forourselves, and in Aries this
will definitely equate, I think,to a sense of self-discovery
(16:56):
and identifying where thecourage lives within us to face
our challenges head on, to faceourself and our relationship to
ourself head on, and to setintentions and initiate personal
changes that we would like tomake in the next cycle.
So over the course of thebeginning of April, I would
really encourage you to stop andthink about what would you like
(17:18):
to accomplish personally withinthis next lunar cycle and over
the course of the next month, and then when we arrive at next
months, it would be interestingto then reflect on kind of what
were those things that Iidentified for myself?
Did I accomplish them?
And also, success does not haveto look any particular way.
Success can just mean that Ibecame more aware of something.
(17:41):
It doesn't mean that wenecessarily have to arrive at
May feeling like, yep, done, check, what's next.
That's unrealistic and that's asocietal expectation that we've
internalized.
It's just not how it worksy'all.
It just really isn't.
(18:31):
And the last thing I'll touch on, because there's so, so, so
much sexuality, sensuality, love, romance, romance.
But it really is just like whatbrings pleasure and the sense
of love into our lives, whetherthat be personal or with others.
And given that it's going to bein Aries, there's probably
(18:57):
going to be this desire for somespontaneity.
And so I would just encourageyou to, while this placement of
Venus in Aries definitely favorsbold and direct expressions of
love and desire for pleasure andsensuality, make sure that
these desires are also balancedwith well-considered decisions,
just to make sure you're awarethat, like, that's what the
instinct is going to be, butmake sure you've thought through
(19:18):
, like, is this actuallysomething I should be doing?
Whether it's like launchinginto a new relationship or
spending a ton of money on a newproject or just just really
like take the hour, two hoursweek, to like consider, drop in,
acknowledge and just make surethat you're making everything
(19:38):
from a sound mind.
So, yeah, I think I'll alsoinclude some like self-care and
ritual suggestions in my blogthat I'll put up around this.
But with this month beingparticularly intense, between
Aries season, mercury retrogradeand the solar eclipse, I think
incorporating self-carepractices that are focused on
(19:59):
grounding and patience andself-reflection is extremely
crucial.
So some ideas for that might beto perhaps meditate in a place
to like slow yourself down, cultivate some patience and
clarity of thought, because it'sgoing to feel a little like
zingy, if that's a good way todescribe it.
(20:19):
Journaling might be a good wayto do this, just forcing
yourself into some deep breaths, moving at a slower pace.
I'm not asking you to pull outof Aries energy.
I'm asking you to just makesure that as we engage with it,
we don't get caught up in theinertia of it all and caught up
in the momentum that's created.
And then for the new moon solareclipse, I think a good ritual
(20:41):
might be writing down intentionsfor your own growth and
specifically around, maybejournal around the idea of
bravery and of courage and theneither seal that list with wax,
place it in a spell jar, burnthe list, anything that makes
you feel like you're releasingthose intentions into the
universe so that they can nowmeet with the energies that
(21:02):
surround us.
Sometimes people do the greatfirst step.
It's a little bit like visionboards.
Vision boards in and ofthemselves are incredible things
for us, but I find that if youwant to actually release what
that vision is into the universeand hand it over for it to do
its thing with what we've set asour intentions and our desires
and our visions Sometimes somesort of additional ritual to
(21:25):
kind of represent that and kindof release our own bond to the
thing that we've created or theideas that we've just stated
sometimes can get missed orforgotten.
I think in the case of visionboards that's fine, because it's
really ultimately meant to befor us and ourselves a
communication and a communionwithin our own nature, because a
(21:46):
lot of people will post them ontheir wall or at their work or
something, just to continuallyremind them of what it is that
we're working towards and whatthe goal is ultimately.
But in this case we're askingfor something bigger than that.
We're asking for the universeto conspire and come to our aid,
to acknowledge and to acceptand to help us actually do
(22:07):
whatever it is that we've setdown as our intention.
So I'm rambling a little bit andwe're 20 minutes in and I
haven't even gone to cards.
So let's talk cards.
I pulled five for this month.
The first one that I want totalk about is meant to kind of
reflect whatever the currentenergy is that we are facing.
And first one that I want totalk about is meant to kind of
reflect whatever the currentenergy is that we are facing.
And the card that I pulled isSeven of Swords.
(22:29):
Swords, obviously, or maybe notso obviously if you're not as
familiar with the tarot.
Swords generally represent ourown association with the power
of thought, the almostelectrical quality that exists
within the human body that wework in tandem with in order to
achieve whatever it is thatwe're achieving in life.
(22:51):
It is something that we arestuck with.
We will always have a brain, inthe sense that we'll always
have to work with that tool, andsometimes that can feel
directly in opposition to ourspirit or to our heart or to our
soul.
And so the journey of the swordsuit represents the journey to
accepting and beginning to workwith the mind and our brain
(23:14):
chemistry as a colleague increation, in living, in growing,
in achieving, in anything.
Ultimately it is a partner thatwe carry literally inside of
our body that if we continue tobe in battle with on a constant
basis it can be very hard tomove anywhere.
(23:36):
So it's a very complicatedthing.
But what I think is reallyinteresting about the current
energy that I see in Seven ofSwords is that the human
instinct in life is to seeopportunity elsewhere all the
time fence, and so we alwayswant the thing that we don't
(24:04):
have.
But Seven of Swords is thisidea that contradicts that human
aspect of our mental psychologythat always wants to say like
hey, look over there.
And distracts ourself fromwhat's actually in the here and
now, when the thing thatprobably actually desperately
needs our attention in our liferight now is right here already.
Seven of Swords represents thisconcept of I don't have enough
(24:28):
or I won't have enough of what Ineed, in not a selfish,
demanding way.
It's more of a like what if Idon't have what I need to
succeed, there's something elsethat I need, there's something
else that I need to learn orfind.
The image of the Seven of Swordsis this individual carrying
(24:49):
five swords in their hand and, depending on the tarot deck,
it's very often for the figurein the imagery to be depicted
with two swords on the groundbehind them.
Or, in the case of the tarotdeck that I use, which is Terror
of the Holy Spectrum by ChaseVoorhees, the figure in
silhouette is like barelymanaging to hold the two and
they're falling to the ground.
(25:10):
And so what happens to us in aSeven of Swords moment is that
we become so focused on the twoswords on the ground, or the two
swords that are dropping thatwe perceive are dropping at
least we don't even realize theincredible potential and
possibilities of the fives thatare still in our hands.
We're so, so focused in therear view mirror of like oh God,
(25:33):
I'm losing these other two, where we forget that we actually
already have five.
We have five in our hands towork with, and it becomes a
perceived myth of somethingexternal, outside of ourself,
like I need to go get that thing, when really the seven of
swords is asking us to realizethat that pressure that we're
putting on ourselves is actuallysomething inside of us.
(25:55):
Why are we so desperate onturning around to pick up these
ones that maybe don't belong tous at all.
Maybe they don't belong to usat all, maybe they don't belong
in our hands, and I think areally good example of this is
actually our phones.
Phones represent Seven of Swordsbeautifully, because so often
of the time we're surrounded bythe most beautiful friendships,
(26:17):
the most powerful opportunitiesfor connection, opportunities
for creation, powerfulconversations with the people
around us.
Or maybe we're in like the mostbeautiful locations, with like
these beautiful views or a birdthat just landed on the
birdhouse in front of us, or allof these things like beautiful
artwork on our walls or photosof our own achievements or our
(26:39):
loved ones, and yet we're stillso focused and locked into the
stories that our phone gives usof like if only I had this, or I
want what this person has onsocial media, that we forget
like oh my God, we're kind ofsurrounded by like a lot of
beautiful things.
So this journey of the currentmoment is definitely a little
(27:00):
bit of a wrestling a wrestling awrestling with our own brain
chemistry that wants toconstantly divert us away from
what's actually important.
Yeah, so definitely like thinkon that one.
Where are the areas in yourlife that you're desperately
clinging to swords that arefalling out of your hands rather
than realizing you know what.
Maybe those ones aren't meantfor me right now and I have
(27:23):
incredible opportunity with thefive swords still in my hand.
And the next card that I pulledwas more of a challenge for us.
It kind of represents theMercury retrograde and Aries
energy of all this, and it'sjust really really interesting
because I think it's very closeto what I was talking about both
in my blog and in this episodearound how to manage and
(27:44):
navigate Mercury retrogradeexpectation to somehow fix
things or come to a solution forthings.
(28:04):
It can be very difficult toaccept the truth of where both
ourselves or where other peoplein our lives are truly at.
I think that relationship withourselves or with other people
can become a bit of a traumaticexperience in life.
When we begin to misinterpretthe reality of where we are at
or where other people are at ashaving somehow to do with us, we
(28:29):
immediately internalize wherepeople are at in their lives as
somehow a reflection of our ownworthiness or unworthiness, or
lovability or unlovability, rather than just accepting where
people are, where we are at,for what it is, without any
judgment or misconceptionsaround where that identity
(28:50):
actually puts us.
If we begin to make where partsof ourselves or other people in
our lives are at somehow aboutus, that immediately means that
we are no longer truly doingdeep listening.
There's this phrase from theLegend of the Holy Grail, or
certain versions of the Legendof the Holy Grail, that I really
(29:11):
popped to mind around this, andit's this concept of like
asking somebody, quote what ailsyou, what do you need to be
whole again?
And this card isn't about theaction that we perceive as being
necessary to take after we getan answer to that.
This card is actually about thedesire and willingness to
(29:31):
listen and just be with theresponse and not move forward.
And I am so excited that thisone got paired with the next
card that I pulled, because itreally builds on this idea even
more.
The next card that I pulled wasbased around the ideas of like
where are the hiddenopportunities for us this month
that we might not immediatelyacknowledge?
(29:53):
And the card that I pulled wasthe Hierophant.
This is a card that reallyrepresents prayer and sacred
knowing.
There's this phrase from apsychology book around the
Hierophant, called VerticalRespiration, that I'm absolutely
obsessed with, this idea ofalmost breathing upwards into
(30:14):
the universe, both in and out, which is a powerful form of
extraordinarily vulnerable giveand take and a spiritual two-way
conversation, unguarded,without expectation, without
filter, and one that demands acertain level of ownership to
the silent inner voice that willrespond to the questions we ask
(30:36):
and provide insight.
I think so often we approach anidea of prayer or divination or
listening to a higher powerwaiting for this, like clash of
thunder, hand of God writes onthe wall and gives us the answer
that we shush, the immediateanswer that we get internally,
(30:58):
and the hierophant challenges usto accept your own knowing
without being like no, you'renot the answer that I'm looking
for, because the reality withthe Hierophant is we are the
wisdom that we seek for in theworld, from others.
We are our own guru, leader, mentor, visionary, and the power
(31:21):
that it takes to vulnerablyexhale into the universe and
then inhale the responses andthen take ownership over the
silent, quiet response that weget.
That's a very, very powerfulthing.
So the Hierophant really isthis symbol of the spiritual
life, of spiritual relationshipswith both ourselves and
(31:46):
spiritual relationships withourself and divinity is in and
of itself a practice for everyrelationship that we have in
this life.
If we can learn to excel inthis quiet internal
communication that's basedaround this idea of like prayer,
meditation, quiet acceptance ofwhat we're receiving, if we can
(32:08):
master that mastering and justbecoming more attuned at moving
through the relationships thatwe experience in our life with
more gentleness and acceptance,it'll make everything so much
easier.
It's really about how wehighlight and underline our
relationship to ourselves first, and it's almost impossible to
(32:32):
navigate this particular type ofcommunion with the spiritual,
as seeing ourselves asall-powerful, like, if anything,
truly embodying the Hierophant, might be even more vulnerable
and humbling than any otherrelationship that we'll have At
least I think it should be.
It also provides us with theinnate in the idea of what the
(32:55):
Hierophant is.
It provides us with this net tofall to when things don't work
out quite the way we might hopeor desire.
Here's the tea no matter whatwe do, no matter how deeply we
drop in, no matter how connectedwe are to spirit, no matter how
much we check in on decisions, not everything is going to go
the way that we want it to,whether that be that other
(33:18):
people outside of us aren'tchecking in on what they're
doing, which changes thetrajectory of things, like we
don't live in a world whereevery single one of us are
emotionally, spiritually, checked in and in tune all the
time.
We just don't.
So the idea of the hierophantalso tells us like, hey, even if
things don't go perfectly andyou've done everything you can
(33:41):
to possibly try and navigatethat, like we discover that like
those experiences do notimmediately equate to our worth,
our competence, our lovability,so like there's less to lose, I
guess, or we hold less grudgesagainst ourselves.
For however that fares, I wantto talk about the next card,
(34:04):
which is the card of what's thetransformation for this month,
and I really filtered this onethrough the new moon solar
eclipse in Aries and I'm excitedto talk about this because I
pulled the four of cups and Ithink I've pulled this card a
couple times in different, certainly in readings with
clients, but I think it's comeup in a couple of the monthly
(34:24):
tarot magics in the past.
This is a very strange card andhere's why this card seems to
have sometimes completelycontradictory relationships and
interpretations to many readersand many people who know the
tarot deeply and have done theirtime, put in the work,
journaled, faced their trauma.
(34:45):
It's not because people don'tknow what they're doing.
Just for some reason, this cardwants to be seen and wants to
be read in ways that don'tnecessarily always feel like
different shades of the samecolor.
Sometimes they can feel likecompletely different animals,
and I have even myself been toldby my guides, by the card
itself, two completely differentinterpretations, and I am one
(35:10):
reader and it's been like, hey,I want you to talk about me this
way one time.
It's I want you to talk aboutme this way another time.
Okay, let's break this down alittle bit.
Given the fact that fours in thetarot as a whole seem to
symbolize stability and almostthe foundation for the soul, I
like to think of fours the way.
One of the ways I remember itis that like four equals the
(35:32):
four walls of, like, the base ofa house.
Okay, so we have this idea oflike fours are stability and
foundations and water as a whole.
And this is, I think, oursecond yeah, our second of three
cups cards in this reading, which is like heavily this sense
of our emotional capacity, ouremotional space, the wateriness
(35:55):
of our intuitions, our, oursoftness, our, if we think about
the fact that water representsour connection to our emotional
capacity, which also melds andmorphs to whatever vessel it is
poured into.
I actually think that thiscontradiction makes sense for
this card.
Some people will say that thiscard represents something along
(36:20):
the lines of stubbornness, passivity, procrastination or
lack of receptivity to spirit,to whatever.
I've also read it at times toreflect kind of the opposite of
this, which is this idea of like, sacred inaction, a discerning
(36:41):
pause or a reminder to like dropin and inquire if an action
that we are perceiving asnecessary is actually necessary.
It's very much this idea oflike, stopping and asking
ourself is this truly for me, oram I being offered an
opportunity from the outsidethat may not be for me at this
(37:04):
moment that doesn't mean it'sgoing to come back in the exact
same way, but it will come backin some way, shape or form.
It's like having the first jobopportunity come in and just
have this feeling of like oh, Iknow I don't have another offer
right now, but there's justsomething that doesn't feel
aligned about this one.
(37:25):
And then all of a sudden, sudden, like, the dream job
drops into your inbox and you'relike oh, okay, cool, that's why
got it.
It's that concept that I readwith this card more often than
not, but I think in bothversions of how this card can be
identified.
There's one thing that'sstanding out for me this month
in particular, and, and I thinkthe important word associated
(37:48):
with this card in both contextsis, again, to listen.
And I want to make a little bitof a hot take that might be a
little hard for some people tohear.
We, as humans, have nearlyforgotten what it means to
listen, and here's why what itmeans to listen and here's why
(38:14):
and I am guilty of this, I'mjust as guilty of this as
anybody else we immediatelyequate listening to like let's,
let's talk, for example, abouthaving a conversation with
somebody.
I know that this conceptextends much further, beyond
this, into listening to spirit, listening to self.
When we equate listening, weimmediately, when we identify
the idea of listening, weimmediately equate listening
(38:35):
with deciding what interestingresponse or story do I want to
add to this conversation?
And then, for those of us thatare like extreme empaths, we
find ourselves thinking if it'snot, what do I want to say back
to this person?
We also find ourselves equatingokay, what do I need to do to
solve the perceived problem thatI'm seeing in the person who's
(38:56):
talking?
How do I fix things, how do Imake it better?
How do I make sure nobody getsangry at me?
In these situations where wemight think that we're giving to
somebody by wanting to add tothe conversation, wanting to
solve a perceived problem insomebody else's life, we might
think that we're giving ofourselves in some way.
But here's the painful truthabout this form of listening
(39:18):
we're actually taking forourselves, we're adding into
conversations in ways to makeourselves feel good or to be
perceived as smart or virtuousor accomplished.
And so I think the reason thatthis card is here has nothing
really to do with thecontradictory, in my eyes, ways
(39:40):
of interpreting the card andstill hiding, highlighting this
idea of like.
What would it take or how wouldit feel to just be completely
receptive to whatever it isthat's being shared with us.
And just like in Queen of Cupsthat we talked about earlier,
this card has nothing to do withthe actions or responses that
(40:01):
we take and all about the verypresent moment of listening,
moment of listening Like.
What would it take to be thefigure on the artwork of this
card and uncross our arms andjust accept what is being said
without taking.
And then the final card that Ipulled is Knight of Cups and I
(40:22):
wanted this one to kind of be ageneral guidance for this month.
Knight of Cups is this idea.
Well, let's start with this.
I find all nights in the tarotthere's four of them.
All reflect an idea of methodsof movement, rhythm, the way
that we behave, and cupsobviously we've been talking
(40:44):
about this this whole time areall about our emotional capacity
, our watery nature, oursensitivities.
I think we're convinced by theworld that our emotions and
state of being are presentedjust as that, as a state of
being, so like.
Here's what I mean by that.
Sorry, I get this concept mightbe a little conflicting and
(41:09):
unconventional.
To succeed in the world, we'reconvinced that we need to always
feel good or be happy, likethat's succeeding, that's doing
well, that's being a successfulhuman on this planet.
The reality is is that lifehurts sometimes it just does,
(41:32):
and so, perceiving these hurtslike loss, anger, frustration,
disappointment we perceive thosefeelings immediately as somehow
an innate failure as a humanbeing.
Failure as a human being andthat perception of it as failure
(41:53):
leaves us in a very unsteadyspot, allowing the water in the
cup that our night is carryingto feel like it can very easily
splash and spill.
I think a good example of this.
I don't really like to alwaysbring love into cards where
they're not necessarily there,but I think it's a good example
to kind of illustrate what I'mtalking about.
(42:13):
Rom-coms or romantic movies ofany kind, for example, have
displayed the concept of love isa feeling, and it can often be
like this consistent feelingthat somebody in the movie feels
almost all the time and it'spresented to us in this way that
says like, hey, this feelingthat this character is
(42:33):
experiencing that is what loveis.
And so when we don't feel thatfeeling in a situation of love
or where we're starting aromantic relationship or
something like that, it cancause us to freak out of like,
oh my God, I'm not feeling thatfeeling that everybody says
you're supposed to have.
When we're angry at a loved oneor a family member or a friend,
(42:58):
does that mean immediately thatwe no longer care for them?
Of course not.
Of course it does not mean thatwe no longer love them.
Jessica Dore wrote a book calledTarot for Change, that is I
just I can't praise it highenough.
She wrote this reflection andcomplete recentering on the
Knight of Cups that I want toread to you.
(43:19):
She wrote.
Instead of wondering what reallove should feel like, perhaps
we should ask ourselves like, perhaps we should ask ourselves
when I love, what does it looklike?
Basically, when our emotionsbecome viewed as a set of
actions and choices rather thana singular feeling we must
somehow adhere to and constantlyfail at, we become a much safer
(43:44):
container for carrying the moreuncomfortable feelings.
So, in essence, the Knight ofCups which is going to be our
guidance for the month whichmakes sense, because we've
already talked about how so manyelements of what this month is
about to be is going to feelcontradictory, it's going to
feel confusing, it's going tofeel at odds with each other.
I know that when I experiencethose feelings, I'm a person
(44:08):
with a Capricorn sun and Ariesmoon and a Libra rising, and
those, by nature, fight witheach other all the time, which
can make me feel, quite honestly, a little bit crazy, and I'm
not going to talk about that toomuch because I'm on my own
mental health journey after arecent diagnosis and new
medication.
So I'm on my own journey, thatI'm not ready to talk about all
(44:28):
that yet, and I deeply apologize.
If bringing it up wastriggering to anybody.
That was certainly not myintention, but my point being is
, things are going to feel allover the place in April and I
think they just are.
What do we need to do to holdthe cup steady through that
process of moving through thismonth?
What would it feel like to runalongside the Knight of Cups and
(44:51):
internalize a little bit oftheir steadiness into what it is
we're doing?
So I think steadiness isextremely important, and also
this idea of deep listening.
Without internalizing the needto respond, the need to fix it
after it happens, can we just beand just allow ourselves to
(45:16):
receive whatever is being shared, whether that be from others,
from loved ones, from ourself, from the universe, from divinity
?
So there's a lot here and Ireally hope.
I definitely feel a little outof practice on presenting all
this information, so I trulyhope, truly, truly, truly hope
that there were some things inthis that felt useful, helpful,
(45:38):
and I want to encourage you tonow, if you have the time and
space to do so, take all of thisinformation now, journal about
it, reflect on it, make ritualsaround it about it, reflect on
it, make rituals around it, pulladditional cards for yourselves
to take this collective energyand fine tune it even more,
because this is just a startingpoint.
My goal here is to create astarting line for you from which
(46:00):
you can cross the thresholdinto April, into the rest of
Aries season, and feel like youhave a strategy of sorts of how
to manage planetary movements, astrological signs and a busy,
busy moving world.
So I'm going to leave it therefor now.
(46:23):
I can't thank you enough forchecking this out.
If you've listened to the end, Iactually would really really,
really really appreciatefeedback on these episodes,
whether you shoot me a messageon Instagram at when walls can
talk with underscores for spaces, or, um, on my email, jeremy,
at when walls can talk tarotcom.
This is not a call to actionjust to like throw these in here
(46:45):
.
Like, I genuinely want to knowwho gained something from these
little extra special sidelineadditions to the show, because
they mean a lot to me.
But I want to make sure thatthey mean a lot to you and if we
feel like there's a betterhouse for these elsewhere, we
can definitely look into that.
But for now, I hope you gainsomething from this little
(47:08):
exploration into no-transcript.
