Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey everybody and welcome to another episode of
Way of Life.
I'm your host, gus Holland.
Today I wanted to do kind ofmore of a freeform type of
episode.
I'm just going to be talkingabout some random stuff within
the fitness community and kindof what's going on and
everything like that.
But lately I've been seeing abunch of ads, especially on

(00:25):
TikTok, for creatine differentbrands of creatine I'm not going
to name the brand, but it hasbecome excessive, at least
within my algorithm.
So most of these ads arecreator made, so they're not

(00:50):
really afraid to put outmisinformation or incorrect math
as far as it goes, becausethey're wanting you to click
through and buy the productbecause they get a kickback.
Nothing wrong with this.
This is more of a problem withTikTok rather than the people,
because people are obviouslygoing to use the tools that they

(01:14):
are given to their advantageand they should be able to do
that.
So nothing against peopletrying to do that and nothing
against the brand, really, because it's working for them.
But as far as creatine goes, there is I've covered it before

(01:35):
but it really is importantbecause it's one of the most
popular supplements and it needsto be said over and over again
throughout time, basically, sothe new audience hears it and
everything like that, or newlisteners.
And so there are differenttypes of creatine and it truly

(01:57):
doesn't Okay.
So you're going for creatinemonohydrate.
That is what you want.
You want 100% pure creatinemonohydrate.
Where it says underneath itsays other ingredients and nor
it should say none.
You're going to shoot for 5grams per day and you're going

(02:19):
to mix it in whatever beverageyou want, because it should be
unflavored and without dye oranything like that.
The other thing is that theprice and the brand does not
matter.
As long as it's 100% pure.

(02:39):
There's no other things addedto it.
That's it.
So you should be able to.
As long as you shop around andeverything, you should be able
to get about 105 grams servingsfor anywhere between $15 and $20

(03:02):
.
That is like the perfect price.
You're most likely not going tofind it cheaper, but that, when
it comes down to it, will sayyou get it for $15 for 100
servings, 15 cents per serving.
You take it once per day.
You're spending 15 cents perday.
That's excellent.

(03:23):
That's one of the top, one ofthe most researched supplements,
it's one of the longest in useand it is really for me and a
lot of others up there in thetop, two or three supplements or

(03:44):
forms of supplements you wouldtake.
So that about covers it up.
So I mean, even before makingthis podcast, I'd not
intentionally just anotherfreaking cretin ad popped up on
TikTok and they're like oh yeah, well, this brand on Amazon

(04:04):
isn't as good and you're gettingless for your money here, blah,
blah, blah.
But really the math Actuallydidn't add up, you know.
So it's lots of times it's totrick you.
Like they'll say, oh, it's,it's for $8 in the tiktok shop
and you click and it's actuallyfor 20.
And they're like oh well, thesell ended there.
There was never actually a Saleor whatever.

(04:27):
You know, there's all types ofdifferent Stuff going on with
that.
But until that's betterregulated, I figured it was a
good idea to put thatinformation back out again.
It's kind of getting frustrated, frustrating.
The other thing is that, like Isaid, there's different types of
cretin and it's hard to explain.

(04:54):
But basically, though, I Ithink they called it Mike
Micronized or Mike some, something like that it's they're
like oh, this is a better, higher quality form of of
creatine and it dissolves easier, and blah, blah, blah, blah,
blah.
I've actually I've tried that.
It dissolves like a tad biteasier.
But is it worth paying doublethe price?

(05:19):
No, is it.
Is it absorbed in the body likeit's they're?
They're both fully absorbed, soit doesn't matter if it
dissolves in the water or notall the way.
I mean what I do is I mix it inSome water or I'll put it with

(05:44):
some water and like a scoop of.
I have this like flavored aminosupplement, bca, bcaa powder,
branch chain amino acid, andthat's mainly for flavor.
I mean you are getting extraamino acids and stuff like that,
but that's kind of like you, alower priority if that makes

(06:08):
sense.
But so I use that to all flavorthe water and I like it like
super cold.
I'll put it in a shaker cup, like I'll put like 12 ounces of
water in a shaker cup with a bigscoop of that BCAA powder, so
it's technically like one and ahalf servings or something.
And then then I'll do like afull scoop of the cretin and you

(06:31):
shake it up.
I mean it takes like threeshakes, four shakes or whatever
it's, shook it up, drink half ofit and like in one you know, a
couple big swigs or whatever, and then, yeah, if for almost
everything, including protein.
If you let it sit there for awhile, it settles at the bottom,
shake it a couple more times, finish it off or as you sip, you

(06:56):
know, sip it down or whatever.
So it's truly not a big deal.
If it's, it's not worth likeI've seen people.
I went to a GNC and they wereselling some like Little bottle
of micro, micro nays or whateverI forgot the term of it, but
that form of cretin cretin andthey're like oh, it blends

(07:18):
better, it's better quality, blah, blah, blah.
No, it's, it's not worth 50, 60bucks for a little bitty jar of
it like that's.
It's ridiculous.
So I guess that rant is over.
The other thing that I was gonnamention is, for the most part,

(07:39):
the Community as a whole issuper supportive, but I have
noticed that, like overall, itis slightly, just just a tad bit
just shifting toward Hatercomments and I think I think not
toward me, but just in generalon videos that I see of people
performing lifts and I think, maybe because the, the fitness

(08:04):
industry has Grown quite a bitrecently, especially with the
newest, the youngest generation,it's become very popular, which
is amazing.
I love, I love to see that, butyeah, I think, just because
it's grown so quick, so big, soquick that, yeah, that's kind of

(08:25):
Lint itself to some undesirabletraits, I believe.
But I Don't know.
I really like there are someinfluencers and creators out
there that are putting a lot ofreally positive content out

(08:45):
there, not only educationalstuff, but really just like
motivating people and Kind oftrying to lead that younger
generation in the in the rightpath or right direction as far
as like attitude towardthemselves and others in the gym
.
So I Really like seeing thatand I think it's kind of me just
thinking out loud I'm not ahundred percent sure, but like I

(09:06):
I'm thinking about doingsomething on tiktok.
As far as that goes, like maybehighlighting People's like
lifts throughout the week ordoing some some sort of video
content, I Would really like tosupport not only the audience of

(09:26):
this podcast but just People Isee as I scroll through.
I mean, you know I follow Overover 2,000 people on Instagram
and they're pretty much all Fit,you know, within the fitness
community whether they're strongmen, strong women, power
lefters, gym owners, like youname it.

(09:51):
So I think it's really reallycool To be putting more support
out there.
Like I said, it doesn't alwayshave to be educational or
opinion or even opinion-based.
It's just like a really goodjob on that lift, like Whatever
you know, or as long as no one'shurting themselves or anything

(10:11):
like that, especially like Likethere is a woman that I saw she
did like a really good job, especially for her, her body
weight as far as, like she wasdoing a squat and she was
showing her progress like, eventhough it wasn't, it wasn't
perfect, she was showing like, basically, how she couldn't even

(10:37):
lift the weight before and nowshe's like lifting it with Um,
no, I wouldn't say correct form, but it, the form was better and
the and she could manage theweight.
So it's like she's showingimprovement.
She's obviously working on theform, she's working on the

(10:58):
weight and she even said in thecomments that she has a coach
and and all this stuff like that.
So I'm like what's the big deal?
People are just like I Sayabout half the comments were
just like negative towardsomething about the video and so
I don't know.
It's also another rant, I guess, but it kind of bothers me when

(11:20):
people aren't as supportive asthey could be, I guess.
Anyways, the final thing Iwanted to touch on this Podcast.
I'm gonna kind of try and keepit a little short today, but as
far as like caffeine andsupplementation goes, or
caffeine consumption, yes, youcan consume, like I, I think the

(11:46):
Medical like maximum orwhatever.
I think they say five or sixhundred milligrams per day might
be wrong on that number, butwhatever it's, it's up there and
so, yes, you can consume thatper day, should you?
No, that is my personal opinion.
I know a lot of people mightargue with that, but I would

(12:11):
argue that those people that arearguing are consuming that much
or more per day.
And One thing from experience, like I've I've had issues with
caffeine in the past, like largeamounts.
One thing about that isconsumption of large quantities

(12:31):
of caffeine on a daily basis, like repent, repetitively.
Not only can you form anaddiction to it, but you can
also it it will like I don'tcare what anybody says, I
haven't looked at any scientificstudies or anything, but I've

(12:52):
known several people that haveabused caffeine, and Including
myself, and it will, over time, change the like, your behavior
toward yourself and others andyour mental attitude, just the
way you react to things andstuff like that, maybe whether
it's making you more on edge orif it's dumping, you know, like

(13:14):
making you dump your adrenalineOutside of the gym.
You know it's there's differentThings that it's going.
It has potential to triggerwithin your body that aren't
necessarily healthy or couldaffect Yourself and others.
So just keep an eye out forthat.

(13:38):
Other than that, I'm gonna keepthis short today.
I wanna thank everyone so muchfor the support.
The podcast has continued togrow.
I do have a sponsor coming upvery soon my first ever sponsor
and I'm, like beyond gratefuland super excited to announce it
to y'all.

(13:58):
It is, although it's gonnatechnically, it's gonna add an
ad spot on this podcast, it isgoing to help increase the
quality of the podcast and reachmore people, which is what I
want it is.
Also, the sponsor is a brandthat, like I'm not gonna receive

(14:22):
sponsorship from brands that Idon't personally use, that
aren't top notch, that don'ttake care of their people.
You know, blah, blah, blah.
Like these people are standuppeople and yeah, so I'm excited
to announce that.
If you wanna support the podcast, I greatly appreciate it.
Sharing an episode with afriend or a lot of friends is

(14:46):
awesome, especially on Instagramto help grow, I don't know
whatever, but sharing it andleaving a rating or review

(15:06):

word for word like the podcast.
Also, trans the new episodes.

that are either maybe have ahearing disability or something
like that.
