We're back! After completing both bachelor's and master's degrees, moving cities, and changing jobs, the podcast has returned from its year-long hiatus. Though the break wasn't planned, it allowed for tremendous personal growth while listeners continued discovering and downloading episodes throughout the quiet period.

The podcast returns with exciting new developments including a Patreon membership at $7/month offering ad-free episodes, early access, merchandise discounts, and exclusive "Your Whey of Life" episodes featuring interviews with listeners about their goals and achievements. Rather than creating complex membership tiers, all supporters receive the same comprehensive benefits at one unchanging price point.

Future plans include an ambitious expansion into Spanish-language episodes once fluency is achieved, increasing episode frequency beyond the guaranteed weekly Wednesday releases, and developing a robust merchandise line beyond the current offerings. All revenue from Patreon, sponsorships, and merchandise will be reinvested directly into improving the podcast's quality and international reach. Several interview episodes are already being scheduled, though most upcoming content will remain solo educational episodes designed to provide maximum value to listeners.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey everybody and welcome to another episode of
Way of Life Podcast.
I'm your host, gus Holland.
I want to do a giant giantshout out to everybody that's
stuck with me over the pastyear-long hiatus, which was
unplanned and unwanted.
But I'm back.
We're going to be in full swingand I'm going to keep doing the

(00:23):
weekly episodes with occasionaladditional Monday motivational
episodes from here on out.
The past year I've gotten mybachelor's degree and my

(00:51):
master's degree.
I've moved cities and changedjobs, among several other things
.
So that is the ultimate reasonfor the hiatus All good things,
all positive things, all thingsthat were wanted.
But because of that I had allthe podcast stuff put up for,

(01:12):
boxed up for over six months.
So that was the only really badthing that came out of all of
this.
But we will be.
We are back in full swing.
I'm still trying to, sadly, findmy microphone, so if this
podcast sounds a little bitdifferent, it's because it's on

(01:32):
my uh, recorded off of my cellphone.
So sorry for that, but I dowant to greatly.
I mean I do want to let youknow how grateful I am for the
people that have stuck with methrough this and who have

(01:53):
started listening, eventhroughout the hiatus I've had
several like a lot of peoplejust download the entire catalog
to up all.
Um, I was not making currentepisodes but with that being
said, um, this is going to bekind of a short episode just to

(02:13):
get everybody get everythingback going and everything.
I figured it'd be kind of funto let y'all know what I've got
potentially planned for, or whatI have planned and what I also
have in mind potentially goingforward.

(02:33):
Basically, I think I'vementioned on previous episodes
that we were going to have aPatreon.
So the Patreon is fully active.
It is.
So the Patreon is fully active.
It is going to be a standardrate of $7 a month which is
never, ever going to change.
That's kind of why I said it.
I was saying about $5 a monthbut I knew, with adding stuff

(02:59):
over time, that I didn't want todo a $5, a ten dollar tier.
Just do one seven dollar tier.
If you're a supporter, you're asupporter and you get
everything possible that I canadd a value to the patreon.
So, um, the patreon is live.

(03:19):
If you obviously sign up right,it's just going to obviously go
toward the show to improve theshow In the future.
You're going to be gettingad-free episodes.
You're going to get episodesearly.
You're going to get updates onnew merch basically first dibs

(03:42):
on merch and any type ofdiscounts that come out.
That's where they're going tobe.
There's a lot of other stuff.
Oh, there's going to be a myWay of Life, which is basically
just episodes that are donewhere I speak or interview or

(04:04):
what have you directly withlisteners of the show.
So I'm going to.
Those are going to be Patreonexclusive episodes where I talk
to listeners of the show abouttheir goals or things that
they've achieved in life orinside the gym or what they're

(04:24):
training for, you name it.
That's where that's going to be, and also outside of Patreon.
I am practicing actively, tryingto become fluent in Spanish.
The goal is to be like 100%fluent in Spanish as soon as

(04:46):
possible, so I'm hitting itpretty hard.
But once that happens, I'll beoffering the podcast in Spanish
as well, so that'll all beuploaded separately.
There will be a separate streamfor Spanish, a separate thing
on Spotify for English, but thatwill Well.

(05:11):
I currently have a lot oflisteners in Latin countries,
and so I figured that'd be acool thing to be able to offer.
I already speak a decent amountof Spanish, kind of like the
high end of A1, low end of A2,as far as the like grading scale
for fluency goes.
But I'd really like to be ableto, you know, offer that to the

(05:37):
Spanish speaking people of theworld or whatever, I don't know.
But as soon as those plans arefinalized and I get fluent
enough, um, that will be comingout.
That'll probably most likely belike a year or two from now,
maybe, maybe three, but it isplanned and I'm very excited

(05:59):
about that.
So, uh, let's see.
Besides that, um, I am, like Isaid, going to hit this thing
full swing, full steam ahead andwe're going to do the weekly
episodes.
We're going I'm also going totry and do more.
As you know, longterm I'm goingto shoot for two to four

(06:23):
episodes per week.
For right now it's a guaranteedone a week on Wednesdays.
I am actively looking for peoplethat want to sponsor the show.
All of the money from thePatreon, the sponsorships,
anything, are going to godirectly into the show.

(06:44):
I'm not going to pocket any ofit.
We're just trying to grow thequality and the consistency and
the presence of the showinternationally.
So probably I'd like tohonestly do some giveaways for
merch and the merch line isexpanding as well.

(07:05):
I know I only have like twoshirt designs that are actively
sold right now and like onesticker design and stuff like
that.
I'd like to have like dozens ofshirt options and dozens of
hoodie options.
You know, blah, blah, blah ofshirt options and dozens of
hoodie options, blah, blah, blahand eventually like a gym bag

(07:25):
or some sort of accessory stuff.
That would be cool, but that'sall being worked on very
actively.
So I don't know.
I'm super excited for this.
I know I'm kind of rambling, butI wanted to fill everybody in
before it really kicks up anotch.

(07:47):
I do have several interviewtype guest episodes that are in
the process of being scheduledat least four but besides those,
for the most part it's going tobe solo episodes that are
educational or at least providesome sort of entertainment value

(08:11):
.
I want people to learn as muchas possible on these episodes.
But anyways, if y'all have umany anything you want to hear on
a podcast, you can alwayscomment on the uh podcast
Instagram.
On my instagram you can.
You know there's a milliondifferent ways to to reach out

(08:34):
um, but thanks for listening, thanks for sticking around.
Always you can uh, share thepodcast with a friend, a bunch
of friends.
That'd be cool.
Leave a rating and review and,um, check out the podcast.
It's wayoflifepodcastcom.
That's where you can find themerch, the, I believe, the link

(08:59):
to the patreon, all that stuff.
It'll also be in thedescription.
But anyways, I hope you have agreat rest of your week and I
will be talking to you all nextweek.
Y'all have a great day.
All right, bye.
