• Before Gin there was Genever:
  • Malt Wine distilled 
  • Wasn't very good, so they started adding Juniper 
• Old Tom came next in the 18th century
  • This is our gin. Not using Malt wine, but instead grain spirits
• Then we have a London Dry
  • Nuetral grain spirits

The Whiskey Chasers were joined by the whole Hough Family: Jim, Ellen, Rob, and Kevin, to discuss Liberty Pole Spirits.  It is always a joy to go to distilleries and meet the people behind the brand, but this was truly wonderful!   • Tony is a retired pharmacist and had no distilling experience when they started
  • In 2016, the owner said they were working on a vodka, but didn't have any interest in whiskey’s
  • In 2021, they met Jeremy Quinn, who became master distiller and will be the successor of the business
  • Today, it makes about 25,000 bottles a year

    • Dwindled to 2 cobs

    • Last still was only about 8 a week
