I'm your host, julie Colbeth,and I am overjoyed to dig into
the Bible with you today.
Hello, friends, today we aregoing to go through the iconic

(00:41):
Psalm 23.
This entire psalm shows ajoyful life resulting from a
deep trust in the Good Shepherd.
He knows what we need in andout of season.
We are most blessed andpleasing to him when we learn to
relax into his provision in allthings, through seasons of

(01:03):
plenty and seasons of want, intimes of pleasure and times of
pain, and in the season of youthfull of dreams flowing into a
season of slowing and passing onwisdom.
God is present.
The Lord is my shepherd.
I shall not want.

(01:24):
He makes me to lie down ingreen pastures.
He leads me beside the stillwaters.
He restores my soul.
He leads me in the paths ofrighteousness.
For his namesake Yea, though Iwalk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I will fear noevil.

The Lord is my shepherd.
I shall not want.
Because the Lord oversees me.
I know that I will not needanything.
I strive to adjust my standardsto the perspective that God
brings into my life Under hisleadership.

I shall want for no good thing.
Philippians 4.19 says he ownsthe cattle on a thousand hills.
He is not needy or poor.
His timing is perfect.
He makes me to lie down ingreen pastures, he leads me

(02:55):
beside the still waters, heprovides for my needs so I can
truly rest in the abundance thathe has supplied.
Romans 8, 28 says and we knowthat for those who love God, all
things work together for good.
To those who are calledaccording to his purpose, he

restores my soul.
He restores my soul.
He is the only one that canrestore my soul from the plague
of sin that daily ravages it.
God knows my weakness and hetirelessly meets me in my mess.
Psalm 103, 12-14 says as far asthe east is from the west, so

(03:44):
far has he removed ourtransgressions from us.
As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who
fear him, for he knows our frame.
He remembers that we are dust.
The compassion of God isboundless and unsearchable.
Is boundless and unsearchable.

(04:07):
He leads me in the paths ofrighteousness for his name's
sake.
The goodness that flows from mylife is a result of the grace
of God towards me.
Ephesians 2.10 says, for we arehis workmanship, created in
Christ Jesus to do good workswhich God prepared beforehand

(04:28):
that we should walk in them.
My eyes can only see anuncertain future, but God has
prepared good things for me toaccomplish that will bring him
glory.
Even though I walk through thevalley of the shadow of death, I
will fear no evil, for you arewith me.

(04:49):
This world is broken and scary,but even when things are
destroyed and taken, I do nothave to fear.
Nothing is greater than my God,who has promised to care for me
.
Even when my life is at its end, my soul rests secure in the

(05:10):
arms of my gracious God.
Isaiah 43.2 says the arms of mygracious God.
Isaiah 43 2 says when you passthrough the waters, I will be
with you, and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you.
When you walk through fire, youshall not be burned and the
flame shall not consume you.
Circumstances can neveroverwhelm my soul that stands

(05:35):
secure in its maker.
Your rod and your staff comfortme.
Jehovah has the tools to bringcorrection and protect me from
anything that comes against me.
The Lord promises to lead methrough all things.
2 Corinthians 1, 3-4 saysBlessed be the God and Father of

(06:00):
our Lord Jesus Christ, theFather of mercies and God of all
comfort, who comforts us in allour afflictions, so that we may
be able to comfort those whoare in any affliction with the
comfort with which we ourselvesare comforted.
By God, you prepare a tablebefore me.

(06:22):
In the presence of my enemies,I can safely enjoy the bounty
that you provide with no fear ofharm.
I am so secure that I can enjoya five-course meal on the
battlefield.
Psalm 20, verse 7, says Sometrust in chariots and some in

horses, but we will trust in thename of the Lord, our God.
You anoint my head with oil.
My cup runs over.
Sheep need to be anointed withoil to keep the flies away in
the summer.
My Comforter has anointed mefor every kind of torment that I

(07:03):
can imagine and has equipped meto do battle with the
irritations of this world.
John 14, 26 says but the Helper,the Holy Spirit, whom the
Father will send in my name, hewill teach you all things and
bring to remembrance all thingsthat I have said to you.
Surely, goodness and mercyshall follow me all the days of

(07:28):
my life.
Mercy is being spared from thewrath that we deserve.
Mercy is being spared from thewrath that we deserve.
I am overwhelmed by thegoodness and mercy that has been
poured over my life as a resultof Jesus Christ, and I will
dwell in the house of the Lordforever.

(07:50):
My permanent state of beingwill be with the lover of my
soul.
I will reside in his presenceforevermore.
Glory and honor and praise tothe savior of lost souls.
I truly have all that I need.
