(00:00):
Hey everybody, welcome to Whistle While You Work podcast.

(00:15):
This is episode 83, the 10 toughest Lightning Lane multi-pass attractions at Walt Disney
World.
With each iteration of this program, it gets harder and harder to say.
Yeah, I feel like it's like a tongue twister or something, right?
Like the first few times it was, oh, it's Genie and then it's Genie Plus and then you

(00:38):
got Lightning Lane and then you got individual Lightning Lane and now we've got Lightning
Lane multi-pass.
Well, and I'm just going to say it right.
I'll just try to put it right there.
I'm a travel agent and so I'm thinking multi-day pass, like a ticket, that's a multi-day ticket.
And so I'm like, wait, what multi am I trying to say here?

(00:59):
You know, it's incredible.
The brain power available to the Walt Disney Corporation is incredible, right?
They've got so many people who can think of incredible ideas.
The Imagineers dream stuff up and I don't know who comes up with the words, but they
need to maybe rethink this because this is, to me, honestly, I don't mean to start off

(01:23):
a negative note, but I'm just saying to me this feels like it's miss after miss after
miss sometimes where I'm like, really?
That's what you guys came up with?
And maybe the question is this, why are they so afraid of just going back and calling it
fast pass?
That was so easy.
You know?
Well, and that's anyway, yeah.
I mean, I can see we're negative just because it's called the 10 toughest, you know, so

(01:47):
it's kind of like we're already intense here.
I will say, you know, we're back to podcasting.
It's been a long summer break.
I know, you know, some of you guys wait on pins and needles.
Exactly.
I've been working.
July 12th.
That was our last episode.

(02:08):
And here we are at the end of August, but we barely squeezed one in in August.
And we're we're not going to make any guarantees, but we like to do this when our life isn't
so stressful.
We want it to be a fun thing.
And so when we're just there's certain nights we're just like, you want to do it?
No, I don't want to do it.
I don't think they want to listen to a podcast when we're kind of all.

(02:30):
No, of course not, especially a free one.
I mean, no, but it's good to be back.
I think it's fun.
You know, there's a lot of things that have happened since our last episode, one of those
being the advent of Lightning Lane multi pass.
Yes.
So you know, big thing, big change that happened.

(02:51):
We're not really covering it in this episode, the changes, but a huge announcement that
they were doing away with Genie Plus and instituting Lightning Lane multi pass, which in short
was kind of a return to the fast pass system of of old where you could select some attractions

(03:12):
in advance.
It's not the exact same system, but kind of similar principles.
And then they kind of borrowed from the Epcot version of it where there were there were
attractions that were grouped into certain tiers.
So in advance of your stay, in advance of your trip to the park, you'd be able to make

(03:33):
three selections from a variety of tiers for the park.
They can't be all headliners, right?
Otherwise, you know, there's a couple of tiers.
You can't have all you can't have three tier one attractions.
You get one tier one attraction and two tier two attractions.
Anyways, you know, we'll probably go into more depth on that later on.
I think that for us, we're really waiting to see how it all plays out and see how many

(03:56):
more tweaks they make because that happens over time.
They constantly make tweaks to it.
But I think the biggest perk is we haven't we haven't tried it yet.
Yes.
So we don't have first hand experience.
I would say the advantages are you can purchase it either three or seven days in advance if
you're staying at a Disney World hotel, you can do it seven days in advance and start

(04:20):
picking things out rather than the morning of buying this at an unknown price and kind
of having to make all your decisions at that time.
It's sometimes some people want the option of doing it before at a set price.
So I think that's probably one of the biggest changes that people should be aware of is

(04:43):
that it's not scramble scramble day of type thing.
You know, I will say one of my big frustrations with the Gini Plus system was that I did have
to do at least two things right away.
I had to purchase it and I didn't know in advance how much it was going to cost and
it would change from day to day.
Of course, when when the system was first introduced, it wasn't that way.

(05:04):
It was just fifteen dollars a day for everybody.
Right.
And all of a sudden they realized that wasn't enough money.
So they needed to make more and they had the variable pricing.
Skip beyond that.
The next part that was to me super frustrating was when you're making your game plan and
you got to make a 7 a.m. selection for your first one of the day and that's when you had
to do it.

(05:25):
Otherwise, you'd be behind the eight ball.
You didn't know what time your attraction would be at.
And that could really throw off your flow if you happen to pick an attraction and it
gave you like a five o'clock p.m. return time.
Sometimes that doesn't even work for your schedule, especially if you were planning
on park hopping that day like, hey, I'm going to start at this park today, not that park.

(05:46):
And you're usually that first selection you make.
My recommendation to most people was always that you would pick something that you knew
would run out or would run out pretty quickly.
Slinky Dog was one of those where, you know, pretty good chance that if you're picking
it at 7 a.m., I wouldn't be surprised for you to get a three, four, five, seven p.m.

(06:07):
return time that day.
That's just how it went.
So I think this did add a little bit more predictability back into the system.
It allowed you to be able to plan a little bit further in advance.
But you know, until we get to go and try it out ourselves here, we'll just pretend it
would be interesting to see.
And for me, what's disappointing is I became a master of Genie Plus.
I know I was like, I mean, I was I was so good at it.

(06:32):
You ruined it.
I bet you were the reason that they had to change it.
They're like, Randy's figured this out.
Yeah.
That's probably true.
It's probably my fault.
OK.
Another thing I would say is I feel like they've changed it so that you can't like get like
the best of every park on one day.
I think they've kind of limited where you're only able to get things.

(06:52):
And that that is a hundred.
I can't remember all the all of the details for that.
No, I think that is probably a hundred percent true.
You know, the old Genie Plus system, they would tell you that most guests are able to
use it for about three attractions per day.
Of course, I say, OK, rookies, right?
Because like I said, I got pretty good at it.
I was pretty good.

(07:13):
I could get probably 10 plus most days if the park is overly crowded.
That changes things a little bit.
It becomes a little bit more difficult, but not pretty good at that.
I feel like this new system, it's going to be harder to maximize it on the number of
attractions use it for.
And I definitely think that trying to do it across multiple parks will be nigh to impossible.

(07:35):
Well, I just, you know, challenge accepted.
Is that how you find out?
It's not going to stop me from trying.
But you know, on my other podcast with back and Ryan escaped to the magic, we we did a
magical scenario of like, what's your perfect day at Disney?
Right.
And I laid it out.
It's insanity.
It's a 20 mile day, basically.

(07:56):
That's how much walking you'll do.
And I've pulled it off with our sons, our oldest two sons recently.
We basically did it.
I don't think I could replicate that under this new system.
Your regime is coming to an end.
OK.
Let the scheming begin.
So let me just say that for these 10 toughest, we're talking about multi.

(08:18):
I see I can't get all the multi pass.
Multi pass.
Don't add words.
I want you to say multi day multi pass, multi pass, multi pass.
We're not talking about individual ones.
And let me even back up even further.
Guys, go to Disney World.
You don't have to deal with this at all.
And you could just wait in regular lines.
You could do any ride.
Well, almost any ride.

(08:39):
Totally not required to do this.
Right.
But if you are like, I want to learn this, I want to maximize.
I don't have patient family or this or that or whatever.
Then this might be entertaining either way.
But that's just know that.
But the we're not going to bring up these four attractions because they are individual.

(09:00):
What are they called now?
Multi pass.
What's the single?
So it's the single.
That's that's individual lightning lane.
I know it's not called that anymore.
Or lightning lane single.
Oh, man.
Lightning lane single pass.
Single pass versus multi pass.
They should have could just called it into the lightning.
That could have stayed.
I don't know why they had to rename that one.
All right.

(09:21):
So we're not talking about Avatar.
Seven Dwarfs, Mind Train, Tron, Light Cycle Run and Guardians.
So those four are not going to be.
Randy's not going to.
That's a list.
Brandy's going to be guessing about Rise of the Resistance.
That's not in there either.
Right.
No rises.
Yeah, that's a that's still an individual one.

(09:42):
Yeah.
And I guess the another little asterisk to this whole thing is that if you go to Disneyland,
you can live your genie plus.
You can still have the genie plus.
But it's going to be called Lightning Lane.
Multi pass.
But it's changed the name.
Same even though even their their program didn't change at all.
Right.
And of course, their program was different to begin with.

(10:03):
Anyways, you couldn't pick your first selection until you were in the park.
Right.
That made a big difference.
Right.
You didn't have that 7 a.m. sort of drop.
And you could buy it in advance.
You could even buy it with your ticket.
So head out to California if you like the old system.
But obviously, there's not as much to do there as Disney World.

(10:24):
So Randy Mackey, I guess we didn't introduce ourselves for people that haven't heard from
us in a long time.
We're from 1983.
Yeah.
Well, but it's been like eight weeks or seven weeks.
And I'm Kayla, her husband and wife.
Here we go.
So Randy Mackey, the 10, the top 10 toughest Lightning Lane multi pass attractions at Disney

(10:49):
World, all four parks.
What do you got?
You want me to list them off?
So I'm just going to say one and you're going to say yes or no.
And I'll tell you where it is on the list.
OK.
The first one I wrote down came to my mind.
I was slinky dog bash.
OK, that's really good.
That's actually number two.
It's not number one.
So I need to take some notes there.

(11:10):
I'll let you change your number two.
So let me just tell you what that means.
You can.
Now, this might even be more confusing than possible.
But if you have a four day ticket for your family and you're staying at a Disney hotel,
then when you when you're in that seven day window, you can book your Lightning Lane so

(11:34):
you can start picking attractions for all four days of your park, park, visit or vacation.
So 10 days in advance, slinky dog dash.
You should be able to get it that morning or afternoon.
People that are in the seven day grouping are also able to get it afternoon evening.

(11:55):
If you're a three day, which means you're staying off property, it's it's saying that
that that by the evening, there's still some same day availability.
None.
Nada.
So if you are wanting to save some time with slinky dog dash, don't plan on just showing
up that day now again.

(12:16):
These are averages.
So you might you might hit some random day where it's not that big of a crowd.
All right.
But that's number two on the list.
OK, I didn't really put mine in a rank order.
I just wrote down.
OK, I don't care.
OK, so you can get them.
So I'm going to jump down my list here and just see.
I'm trying to see if I can find number one.
How about Peter Pan's flight?

(12:38):
That is not on the list.
Really?
Yeah.
People are foolish enough just to go wait in line for that for forever.
That's what you're telling me.
Well, and again, this is this is not we don't know all the tiers.
I don't know which tier that's in.
We didn't do all of our research before this.
But here's the thing.
Does it matter?
It is consistently the longest average over the entire day wait time out there.

(13:02):
Right.
For for what you get out of it.
OK, you know, I guess I'm wondering if Seven Dwarfs is a longer wait time, but that doesn't
count in this because that's an individual lightning lane or a lightning lane single
pass.
So I'm just talking about these multi pass attractions.
What you're telling me is the data is saying that people are more likely to wait in line

(13:25):
for that.
I think the data is saying that because certainly it can't be available.
These are the tough the toughest ones to get.
I don't know.
I don't know.
OK, well, blog, Mickey, this is this is your you know, I trust blog, Mickey.
They do.
Peter Pan is not on there.
OK, all right.

(13:45):
So let me how about frozen ever after ding, ding, ding.
Let's see.
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven.
It's number seven on the list.
OK, good news.
If you are same day, it says that even by the afternoon and evening you can get that
on the same day.
Same day.
So again, the caveat on that one, I read a little bit of what they were saying is that

(14:09):
test track currently is not open right now.
So yeah, yeah.
So I think that might affect.
But you think it would be harder to get.
I believe that would make that harder to get.
So maybe they're saying that they think this will drop off.
I don't know.
I don't know.
Look, when test track three point, it comes out, it's going to be a hot ticket item right

(14:30):
there.
OK, so how about this one?
How about Festival of the Lion King?
Does that fall on the list?
It does not.
Interesting.
But there are animal kingdom.
OK, then let's try it.
Before we move on, why did you put that on your list?
Well, because it can be hard to get into that show.

(14:51):
So that's one that I think people like to have maybe some predictability.
Now usually you can find availability the day of there.
I've traditionally seen it, but we've got burned.
So we've been burned.
You still have that in your brain.
I just thought, hey, to tell you the truth, I looked at this and I really couldn't come
up with 10 attractions.
I thought would be hard.
OK, so I threw that one in there.
OK, I'm going to stay in animal kingdom.

(15:12):
How about Navi River?
Very good.
I was surprised at that.
So tell me why you picked it and then I'll tell you what number it is.
Because it always runs out.
It's just got to be just because there's limited numbers of things to do there, right?
I don't know.
It's one that usually has a really high wait time and it runs out.
And I guess the reason for that is because when you're in Pandora, you've got a choice

(15:35):
of two attractions.
You've got Navi River and then you've got Flight of Passage.
Well, Flight of Passage, you can wait your hour to two hours in the standby line or you
can buy your way on.
Most people will not buy their way on.
On the other hand, you have the Lightning Lane attraction there at Navi River.
So you can experience the world of Pandora and you don't have to pay anything extra.

(15:58):
And so I think that's when goes a lot faster again to animal kingdom, fewer attractions
in general for which there's not like a height restriction.
Like anyone could do that one.
It's a boat ride.
So they're saying so that was actually number nine on the list.
OK, so you'll still have same day availability.
Yeah.
So they're saying afternoon, evening, the day that you're there, you could you could

(16:19):
get that one.
OK, how about this one?
This is one that I will say.
Sorry to cut you off.
The audio animatronic at the end of that one is pretty amazing.
I think it's when it's working.
Yeah, it's worked when I was on there.
Yeah, yeah, she's pretty awesome.
OK.
So that's one of my favorite attractions, the Tower of Terror.

(16:43):
Ding, ding, ding.
Let's see.
One, two, three, four, five.
That is the fifth one.
So same day availability.
They said that that you can get it as late as the evening, but it's pretty scarce that
it's going to stick around till the evening.
Yeah, that makes sense to me.

(17:05):
Let's try.
I mean, I have quite a few actually here from Hollywood Studios.
Let's just go down the list.
Rock and roller coaster.
Yes, that is on there.
Let's see.
That is number eight, which was surprising to me.
I don't know why.
Again, it seems like a very popular ride for a park that doesn't have a ton of stuff.
I mean, it has more than Epcot, but but it says that afternoon, evening, you should still

(17:29):
be able to.
It doesn't have the word scarce on there.
So it seems like if you show up that day and want to do that possibility, which I feel
like I mean, as nice as it is to plan ahead, I do feel like you don't want people being
ripped off that are buying it the same day, right?
That want to do these rides.
So yeah, absolutely.

(17:50):
It makes you feel good that it's still possible.
Well, let's try Toy Story Mania on first size.
Really?
Does that make it?
It does.
I'm curious.
I didn't know that you would guess that.
Yeah.
Tell me why you guessed that.
It's available sometimes towards the evening, but it's scarce.
What number is this?
Four.
Four.
OK.
All right.

(18:11):
Yeah.
Look, I've got two, four, five, seven, eight, nine so far.
Pretty good.
Number one is eluding me.
I think that I think that Toy Story Mania is one that people who have waited in the standby
line and have watched all the Lightning Lane people go through have realized I don't ever
want to do this again with that one.
So that just makes me think of that meme I sent you where the guy was so mad.
He's like, no, it's my turn and the cast member lets all the people.

(18:35):
That is Toy Story Mania.
That is Rock and Roller Coaster.
It's gotten to the point that those are.
So Toy Story Mania and I love that attraction, by the way.
I love it.
I've never lost.
I've never lost anybody in my car.
Let me put it that way.
Or frankly, anybody in my group.
It's come close to the thing.
I've never played against you.

(18:55):
Right.
You've almost beaten me, but I've just I never, you know, and I've got photographic
evidence to prove it.
But I love that attraction, but I won't I won't do it again.
I won't do it again.
If it's posted 45 minutes, you can count on an hour and a half.
I mean, I've made the mistake too many times and it's proven true each time.

(19:17):
And I just don't know why they can't seem to figure out how to time it right.
But the issue is the Lightning Lane.
They will let a whole crowd go through.
And so that's why I think the other issue is it doesn't load fast and doesn't load
a lot.
It doesn't.
Yeah, it doesn't.
And the same thing with Rock and Rollercoaster Ride.
I mean, they'll just let everybody into the into the studio there to hear Aerosmith do

(19:40):
their thing and get in their limo.
And you're just watching them go by.
There goes another group of 10.
And you've been usually waiting out.
There goes another group of 20.
And then finally, for most of that weight.
And then they'll finally let like two people from the regular standby line go through.
And it's sad.
I'd rather be there right now than talking about it, though.
Yeah, me too.
I would do it if I was there.

(20:01):
So that's OK.
Plus, because that was closed last time we were there.
It was.
All right.
So what do you what do you got?
You still can't get number one.
I'm working on it.
I'm working on it.
I don't feel like what I have left on the list here is going to be number one worthy.
I'm really trying to think of what that could possibly be.

(20:22):
Do you want me to give you a hint?
No, no, no, no, no.
We're going to keep going until we see if I can figure it out.
I would be curious.
This maybe doesn't fit the list.
But how about Remy's Ratatouille adventure?
It does.
OK, that's actually number three.
Number three.
If you show up the same day, availability, none.
So OK, I mean, I guess it's interesting.

(20:44):
I'll tell you why it's interesting to me.
It's an attraction that you can actually get a reasonable standby queue.
Like I checked it just a few minutes before we started the show here.
It was about 830 Florida time.
It was down to 30 minutes.
So I guess why do you think they have so many line issues with that ride?

(21:06):
I feel like it was new for a while.
I guess it's still newish.
But why do you think it's in general can be such a long line?
I don't know.
I guess to tell you the truth, I'm a little surprised it's on the list because it just
usually isn't too long of a line.
Forty five minutes tends to be some of the longer queues.

(21:29):
Usually if it's longer than that, that's because other things are broken down.
I think right now with test truck down, that probably is playing a role in it.
Well, I guess the other thing is there's just not a lot of kid things to do at Epcot and
there's not a lot of rides, especially in that area.
Yeah, for sure.
Anyway, England needs an attraction.
Yes, I was just listening to.

(21:49):
Oh, my gosh, I was trying to fact check to you.
What were you saying the other day?
I'm sure I said all sorts of things that were half baked.
But you say it like it's gospel truths.
Well, in the moment, I thought I knew what I was talking about.
But then sometimes I listen back, I'm like, what are you talking about?
That's not right.
You know, I'm like Uncle Leo on Seinfeld.

(22:11):
You know, I'm an old man.
I'm confused.
Yeah.
Jerry, what's my name?
Hello.
What about the Millennium Falcon?
Nope.
OK, I didn't think so.
Put it there.
Usually you can find it throughout most of the day.
Yeah.
Space Mountain would be one that I would think probably doesn't make the list.

(22:34):
Nope, it's not on the list.
No, no Space Mountain.
I don't know.
I mean, I feel like maybe they load so quickly.
You know, I've never really had a problem getting a Space Mountain Lightning Lane even
late late in the day.
Yeah, with Genie Plus.
Oh, with Genie Plus.
So I didn't think so.
I'm now done with the list that I had prepared.

(22:55):
I'll just give you a hint.
Number one, you might not understand that it's changed the iteration of what it was.
So when it was initially opened, the line was a different situation than it is now.
Are you talking about Tiana's Bayou?

(23:16):
Yes.
So it was a virtual queue.
Exactly.
So that's why there is a virtual queue, but this is also available on the multipass.
Oh, I didn't know it was on multipass.
I thought it was virtual queue only.
That's why I thought you probably...
Oh, well, if I didn't know that, that's number one, obviously.
Well, I was trying to see if you could figure it out.
Well, okay.
So that's my fault.
I had a misunderstanding.
I thought it was only virtual queue.

(23:37):
So there is a virtual queue, which means that you don't have to pay for any of this and
you can use the app to obtain that at 7 or 1 p.m., 7 a.m. or 1 p.m.
Okay.
10 days out, so those people that have the four day ticket and are staying on property,
they can still obtain it afternoon, evening.
So they don't have to necessarily do that first thing in the morning.

(23:59):
Seven day, three day and same day, none.
Yeah, that doesn't surprise me.
I mean, look, it's the newest attraction in all of the parks.
I will say, you know, for all of the noise of the people that said they would boycott
it and never ride it after the Splash Mountain thing, boy, they all turned out to be a bunch
of liars, just like those people who say they're moving to Canada after every presidential

(24:21):
election.
They're still here and they're riding Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
All right.
So you got I'm going to take credit for that because I did.
I did guess it right.
So I got two that I have.
So I've got one, two, three, four, five.
I'm missing six and ten.

(24:41):
Missing six and ten.
Yes.
Yeah.
I'm missing six and ten.
Give me a park.
Tell me.
Tell me a park.
OK, number 10 is that animal kingdom?
It's an animal kingdom.
Oh, it's got to be the safari.
No.
And that's why when I saw this on the list, I was like, he's not going to guess this because

(25:01):
I never would have guessed this.
Cali River Rapids, Cali River Rapids.
So by the same day and now again, that doesn't make any sense.
It's weather pending, but the same day by afternoon, it's gone.
So I mean, it's summertime.
So it's been skewed right now, I guess.
But it still doesn't make any sense.

(25:23):
I've never had problems even waiting in that line.
It's not been it's not a long wait because, you know, it they seat 16 people at a time.
So they load and they'll like load like five boats at a time.
Right.
So it loads real fast.
All the time.
It really messes with that's not when I think I would probably waste a lightning lane on
unless it was was available.
OK, so that's 10.

(25:44):
And then let's see.
So what's the other park?
Magic Kingdom.
There'll be a Magic Kingdom, huh?
Magic Kingdom.
Let's think about this for a second.
Is it a traditional attraction?
OK.

(26:04):
So it's not enchanted tales with Bell.
And I'm assuming this isn't one I would ordinarily probably guess because I didn't get it.
It's a popular ride.
So it's Haunted Mansion.
Yeah.
Let me read what he says.
It is.
It's been pretty consistently long.

(26:25):
But again, that's one that I've almost always been able to get late in the day on a lightning
lane.
So so let me just read what he says here.
He says this is you want to make this the top of your list for tier two selections.
So this might be one reason why it's popular.
It's tier two.
Haunted Mansion is a classic attraction and a pretty clear number two selection at Magic
Kingdom behind whatever tier one attraction you're able to secure.

(26:49):
As a matter of fact, the data actually puts Haunted Mansion ahead of many tier one attractions.
Of course, you'll still want to pick from the tier one list, even if Tiana's Bayou Adventure
is sold out.
Do you remember back in the day when it was not difficult to get in the Haunted Mansion?
I do.
Like two years, two years ago, all of a sudden, three years we came back from COVID like it's

(27:14):
broken.
Like I don't know what they did, but they broke Haunted Mansion somehow.
It does not do what it's supposed to do, which is move.
It's kind of crazy.
I mean, did the popularity of it increase?
That's all I can think of because it's not like, you know, they had a elevator shaft.
Well, it's popular.
I mean, they they had a new movie come out, which was great, by the way.

(27:34):
I liked the movie a lot.
And I saw that without you, which is similar to what you're doing with.
That's true.
You went to the theater and saw it without me.
I know you love going to the movies.
So do you like going to the movies?
Yeah.
Yeah.
OK.
You know what?

(27:54):
I thought about it.
I thought about it when I was putting this list together.
And that's why I said I struggled putting 10 down here because I just didn't think I'm
surprised that it would come up there at six.
But now I'll tell you this much.
Right now, the Jungle Cruise is closed for refurbishment.
And I'm very confident that it fits into this list at that point.
Right.
And so these statistics are from July 24th, which I think was the first day that it's

(28:18):
man.
That's back last time we recorded a podcast episode.
I know.
I'm just saying they only have statistics for like six weeks, eight weeks.
Right.
And so not even eight weeks.
So it's you got to put into the factor that it's summertime.
So that's why Callie, I think, made it.
So what are you surprised did not make the list?
I think you're right.

(28:38):
Peter Pan, I guess I'd have to understand the tier system.
But if anybody and talking to me, if anybody reads anything about going to that park, they
know that that's one of the long wait times and like all the strategy books talk about
it.
And here's the thing.
Your ability to choose three.
Right.
Right.
Tells me that.

(28:59):
OK, I could probably burn one on Peter Pan.
Is that a tier one attraction?
I guess that could be the only thing that I would think would have me say, man, I don't
think so.
Yeah.
If it is a tier one, then that would make sense.
Why?
Let's see.
Let's see if I can.
I could Google it.

(29:20):
I got my computer right here.
Well, I got the app up.
Tier one Disney World.
Big Thunder Mountain, Jungle Cruise, Peter Pan, Space Mountain, Tiana.
So that's why everyone's picking Tiana.
Nobody's picking Peter Pan for a tier one.

(29:43):
Yeah, because I mean, those are by the way, by the way, pro tip, everyone, it's not a
tier one attraction, regardless of what they category they put it in.
I'm just telling you, you'll be disappointed.
The queue is better than the ride.
I will admit that the ride's fine.
It's just not worth the wait.
I guess that's the thing.
So yeah, anyways, I would say I got to give you a pat on the back.

(30:06):
You did you did better than I thought, especially when I saw that list.
I was like, I don't think you're going to get some of these.
I don't I just didn't think I got seven of 10 on my first try.
I would have got eight of 10 if I had realized Tiana actually had.
I just didn't think it had one.
I would have definitely put that down if I'd thought that.
So yeah, I feel really good about myself right now.
I feel real good.

(30:27):
Maybe you should take the family to Disney World, you know, to reward yourself for your
your amazingness.
Or I go by myself.
I have an annual pass.
Mine expired.
Let's not talk about it.
Well, you know, once it's time to go again, we'll renew it.
There's no point in renewing it if we're not going.
I know.
And that was kind of my one of my reasons I wanted to do our podcast because we don't
have a trip on the horizon.

(30:50):
It'll happen.
It'll come.
But so this was this helped us help fill the void a little bit.
And as I was looking at the calendar, the map before we got started here, I was like,
what is that?
I didn't recognize some of this stuff.
And it was a trick or treat spot.
So there must be a Halloween party happening at Magic Kingdom right now.
Trick or treat spots were on the calendar or on the map.

(31:14):
August 29th trick or treating.
I know.
Make that money.
I mean, some people I do.
My joke.
Disney dollar signs gone now.
Genie dollar sign or yeah, Genie dollar sign, Genie dollar sign.
Now it's now it's now it's multi pass.
Now I can't remember the word Lightning Lane multi dollar sign.

(31:40):
And I don't think those single nailed it.
I don't think those single pass ones are single dollar.
They're double digits.
I know.
Especially for a family of six.
Mamma Mia.
It's like buying a whole other park tickets.
Like I could have just brought a friend with me and paid for them to get in instead.
You know, we could complain about lots of things, but when you are like I'm I deal with

(32:06):
Universal and other theme parks like this is this is more reasonable than other places.
So like, yes, there are a lot of rules.
There's a lot of things, but they keep the price reasonable for people to to actually
save some time in line.
I guess that's a good question.
You know, on Escape to the Magic, we do these things called magical scenarios and we come
up with stuff, maybe a little hybrid of that.

(32:30):
You know, if you could, Universal's ploy is you can buy what they call a unlimited pass,
right?
Yeah.
And the cost of the unlimited pass is typically equal to if not more sometimes than the price
of the park ticket that day.
Right.
Right.
But the thing is this, you don't have to plan anything out.

(32:50):
You just show up and you go walk into whatever line you want to and you can go do it for
the for the attractions for which it's available, which is almost everything.
There's only like a couple that it doesn't apply to Hagrid, Velocicoaster.
Would you rather have that option or would you like the Disney option where you pay for
the Lightning Lane multi pass, no guarantee to how many attractions you could use it for.

(33:17):
Plus, you still have to pay additional money for the other individual attractions.
Now, the thing is, are you basically saying which system do I like better?
That is the system that is right now.
That's exactly right.
I'm saying do you want Universal system or do you want Disney system?
Oh, I I think I like personally, I like the Disney system because it's just it's more

(33:47):
approachable.
It's not so expensive.
And but if you're I would say that's me who's been a lot many times.
I would say if you're a first timer, it sure would be nice to have.
So you're paying one hundred and fifty dollars for the park ticket and you're paying another
hundred and fifty to just ride everything.
You don't think about it, you don't plan anything out.

(34:08):
You're like, hey, I want to do that or I want to do it again.
The reason Disney does not offer that is because they have the small touring groups, the private
tours.
I can't think of the word right now, but ten people, VIP tours, VIP tours.
The people that with the plaid vests that take people to the front of the lines, they

(34:29):
are very important payers.
That's the term you're looking for.
They got multi dollars dollar signs.
Yeah.
So the from what I understand, that's why they don't offer that at Disney World is because
they don't want to compete with their already lucrative VIP.
Sure.
I get it.
I mean, look, if you break it down financially, right?

(34:51):
This is an exact number, but it's probably pretty close.
If you get the multi pass, you get Lightning Lane, Multiplas and you buy your way onto
two attractions, you're likely to spend an additional sixty dollars per person for that
day.
Yeah.
OK.
And that's an average of twenty bucks for multi pass.
It's an average of twenty bucks for each of the other two.

(35:12):
One could be twenty five and the other could be fifteen.
I don't think you're getting multi pass for twenty dollars.
But what's the price on it now?
Thirty?
I don't remember, but I feel like it's cheaper at like Animal Kingdom.
Who are these podcasters that didn't research before we got on?
You know, let's look it up.
I'm I'm I'm clicking the purchase button right now.
See what it says.

(35:33):
Is it going to let you?
Well, it'll give it to me.
I got an annual pass.
Oh, that's true.
I'm not combining in advance now, you know, still adding some magical touches.
Yeah.
I don't know what to do.
It's like, what do you mean you want to buy this?
Anyways, I just think that the point is, even if it's another ten dollars than that, so

(35:57):
OK, seventy dollars per person, that that's.
Less than spending one hundred.
You're not going to spend less than one hundred and nine, I think maybe eighty nine or ninety
nine on the slowest of days at Universal, which by the way, it's always over one hundred.
No, I've seen it for less.
But here's my pro tip.
If it is that little, you don't need it.

(36:20):
The park is not busy.
This app really struggles, you know.
It does make for a very expensive Universal Day if you go for that, though.
So you know, they all have their different business strategies.
And it comes down to it, though, it's just fun.

(36:44):
It's just a lot of fun.
And that's what I tell my clients.
I'm like, I'm going to prepare you and I'm going to help you.
But one way or the other, you will have fun.
Yeah, of course.
I think fun is you have to you have to bring it and and have that prep.
Are you still over there Googling?

(37:05):
Yeah, I have to pick.
I have to pick a day is my thing.
So it finally got me to a thing.
From what I read here, it says pricing for the services starts at thirty dollars.
So Lightning Lane, multi pass for Magic Kingdom Park on September 19th.
Twenty seven bucks.
Oh, OK.
I didn't know it was in the 20s.
Yeah.

(37:26):
And then individual Lightning Lane for seven dwarves is eleven and for Tron is twenty.
Yes, I think you're right.
Sixty to seventy dollars.
I will tell you, by the way, that's a huge change to your ability to buy individual Lightning
Lanes in advance.
Right.
The single you used to not be able to do that until the day of.
So now you can buy the single pass, which does for me.

(37:47):
It helps a lot with planning because, you know, can pick what time I want to go on Tron.
Yeah.
So according to this one, the single, what's it called?
Actually, actually, you can't buy it until three days out because I just went forward
and said I'll be eligible to purchase it on September 16th.
Probably more than that if I'm staying on property.

(38:08):
You're not staying on property.
This according to this same day availability for any of these single ones is none.
And Guardians of the Galaxy is scarce same day if you want to buy a single.
Well, you know me, I'm not going to wait that long.
I'm not waiting till the day of.
Yeah.
Most of these you need to do it the morning that your availability opens.

(38:30):
So anyway, take me to Disney World.
I'll go.
I'll think about it.
OK.
Well, thanks for joining us and glad that we're back and glad that you, you know, if
you made it all the way to the end, glad that you hung with us and you all take care.
It's nothing.
