Since everyday feels like an historical event in 2024, we decided to go back in time to another, 2015's Stonewall. Joined by Jared McCullough of the Black Geek Energy podcast, we discuss this disaster of a movie by the disaster movie master, Roland Emmerich.
Not only does this movie insert a white man into the middle of a historically Black and Latino uprising, not only does it reduce almost every queer character to stereotypes, not only does it manage to make Marasha P. Johnson a footnote in her own story, but it's has the caucacity to be over two hours with just 10 minutes of riot.
We talk about Emmerich's unbelievably tone deaf comments, how ugly the movie looks, and if we'll ever see the Blade movie.
Follow Black Geek Energy wherever you get your podcasts, and get caught up on everything from MCU to the latest anime, to D&D!
