Speaker 1 (00:07):
I remember a time where I was living life but
something just felt off.
I was wondering why I wasfeeling the way that I was
feeling and I didn't trulyunderstand it, but I just knew
that something was missing, butI didn't know what was missing.
Like I had my family, I had ajob, I had all my needs and some

(00:30):
of my wants, but something wasjust missing.
Have you felt like something isjust off, like something is
just missing in your life?
Can you relate?
You may have even had a senseof feeling off, but at the same
time, you don't know what to doabout it because it's the only

(00:53):
thing that you've ever known.
So this episode today is goingto answer why you feel off.
I'm going to help point you inthe right direction, because I
know how it feels to be left, feeling off, to know that

(01:16):
something is missing, that youwant more in life and just don't
know how to reach it.
I know what it feels like to bewishing for a mentor or a guide
or an older sister and not haveanyone to turn to, not have
anyone to understand whereyou're coming from because at

(01:38):
the same time, you don't havethe words for it.
You just know something is offand that life has to be better.
You're tired of feeling lost, confused and misunderstood.
So, now that I figured out whatthe solution is and this is a

(02:02):
real solution, a solution thatworks, a solution that matters,
and one that I've been throughmyself I have used this solution
for my clients.
I've even shared it with familyand friends and coworkers.
So now let me point you in theright direction, to where you

(02:26):
don't have to run around feelingoff and knowing that something
is missing.
This is the perfect time foryou to actually stop for a
moment and download this episodefor later, because you're going
to want to listen to this again.
But before we get started, Ihave a question for you.
Will you help me?

(02:47):
Will you help me point othersto fulfilling that off feeling?
If you said yes, I want you totake time right now to share
this episode in your group, chatwith a friend, with a co-worker
, with the first person or groupon your mind, or even to your

(03:14):
social pages, because you see, this is an empowered healing
that is greater than you and I.
Hey, hey, welcome to who Am I?
With Crystal J Me, where weovercome barriers, we discover

(03:35):
authenticity and we elevatesuccess with fulfillment and
purpose.
If you're ready for a realtransformation and not just
temporary fixes, and you knowthat you're ready to take
control of your life, yourcareer and live with the purpose
, fulfillment and division thatyou see for your life, then

(03:58):
you're definitely in the rightplace.
Then you're definitely in theright place.
This is where people learn toembrace waking up, feeling
aligned with who you are, makingdecisions with confidence,
transforming your relationshipswith yourself, with your partner

(04:19):
and with others.
This is the place if you'reready to break free from
patterns that no longer serveyou and step into your most
authentic, empowered self.
Welcome to who I Am.
With Crystal J, you see, I talkabout overcoming barriers and

(04:45):
discovering your authentic selfand elevating your life with
purpose and fulfillment andsuccess.
And I often get the question ofwhy, why do I do what I do what

(05:07):
I do?
How did I become the who am Iexpert or the empowerment
goddess and the certifiedsomatic trauma-informed coach
that I am?
And today I want to share thatwith you.
But, most importantly, I wantto share with you what it really
looks like when you discoverwho you are and why this
transformation is so importantand how it is life-changing and

(05:34):
it's a real transformation, nottemporary.
So is that okay with you?
Did I share that with you?
I hope so.
Was that okay with you that Ishare that with you?
I hope so.
So you see, it started when Ifelt broken and was at my bottom
.
I always supported others, butdidn't feel like I was supported

(06:01):
myself, supported myself.
I was tired of being attackedfor stuff that I didn't do or

(06:22):
was not of me.
I was tired of people devaluingme.
Am I going to get even?
Am I going to teach people whatit really means to hurt?
Or was I going to finally finda way to heal from all the

(06:43):
things that I was experiencing?
Because I was tired, I wasexhausted, I was broken, I was
ashamed, I was lonely.
I had no hope, or, let's say, Ibarely had any hope.
I wanted to live, but I didn'twant life.

(07:05):
I wanted to finally sleep atnight.
I was tired of the eternaldebate of am I good enough?
You see, what I know now is thatthere were barriers that left
me feeling off, feeling unwanted, feeling like people just dealt

(07:33):
with me just because that leftme scared of being alone, scared
of what people would think orsay about me.
Those are the things that hadme feeling unsupported, and some

(07:55):
others was originated frombeing cheated on, gaslighted,
abused mentally, physically andsexually.
These things, for me,manifested in me always saying
yes even when I knew I shouldsay no, and even in the times
where in the my head I wasyelling heck no, but my mouth

(08:18):
would say of course I allowpeople to mistreat me.
I dealt with being cheated onand disrespected because I was
scared of living a life aloneand that I wouldn't find nobody
else.
I remained silent, even when Iknew that the people around me

(08:39):
taught mess about me.
I'd never spoke up for myself,or shall I say, I hardly ever
spoke up for myself.
I was stuck in jobs thatweren't for me.
I overworked myself to takecare of everyone and everything
while not getting the same.
I would cry in my car and thengo inside like nothing never

(09:00):
happened.
I would break in the shower, Iwould fall asleep crying.
I was just lonely, confused, ashamed, lost and really feeling

(09:21):
off, really feeling off.
So when I finally decided thatit was time to heal or learn
that something else, learn thatthere was something out there
better I decided to do it formyself, but for also for my
daughter.
I didn't want her to live thelife that I was living, to

(09:44):
experience the things that Ihave experienced in my life.
I wanted to teach her how tolive confidently and with
purpose and passion and success.
I wanted my boys to feelsupported and know their worth,
along with my daughter, and knowhow to treat women right.

(10:04):
I no longer wanted my childrento see me in agony or hide the
pain for them or be absent intheir lives because I was too
busy taking care of everythingelse by working two, three and
sometimes going to school.
While doing all of this, and attimes that left it to where I

(10:25):
wasn't available to them.
I provided their wants, theirneeds, but I wasn't available to
them.
I knew there had to be betterand I needed to find it.
It was no other option.
I was tired of waiting forsomeone to hand me the handbook

(10:46):
of a better life.
I wanted that better life, so Ihad to go get it.
I wanted to succeed and befulfilled.
I wanted real love and realacceptance.
I wanted to find the solutionof being off.
I wanted to find that missingpiece.
So what I learned in thisprocess is that I had to learn

(11:10):
to rewire my brain, and I didn'tknow what that meant, but I
knew I needed to find out.
I wanted to learn how my body, mind and spirit held barriers
that were left behind by thetraumatic experiences that I
experienced in my life.

(11:32):
I learned what invisible scarswere.
Did I hear about that prior?
No, but now I know they existand I'm sharing it with you.
So I had to really discover thesolution.
And what is that?
I had to finally learn who I am, because I didn't know who I

(11:54):
was.
I just knew I was Crystal and Iwas born and that I've been
living the life that I've beenliving, but I didn't know who I
was.
And that was the missing piece.
Because if I didn't know who Iwas and I was constantly being a
follower and at times, actinglike a leader and I'm just

(12:16):
moving along with life, but Iwasn't really living life, I was
just here.
I wanted to know that I wasworthy.
I wanted to have confidencebecause, in the back of my mind,
I knew I was confident.
But how can I bring that out?
But then again, what was Iconfident in?

(12:37):
And so I poured into books, Ipoured into courses and programs
, I listened to YouTube videosand and both oh my gosh
Thousands of dollars of courses,programs.
I listened to so much advicefrom experts.

(12:59):
I started saying yes to me.
I started learning to set, implement and stick to
boundaries healthy boundaries.
I learned what healthycommunication was.
I learned what a healthysupport system was.
But through this process, therewas hesitation.

(13:22):
The hesitation lived in bitsand pieces of my life during
this process, and they werethere because I was scared of
losing people who I thoughtwould be a part of my life for
life.
And I lost several of them inthe beginning, of me standing up

(13:46):
for me, of me settingboundaries, of no longer
allowing people to run over me.
So, of course, I was scared ofwho else would I lose?
What if I lose my marriage?
What if my children doesn'tlike who I'm turning into, or
other members of my family?

(14:07):
But I knew that I was doing thebest for me and if I'm standing
as the best for me, then if I'mthe best me, then I'm going to
be the best in all the rolesthat I possess possessed.
So I had to continue toimplement the changes that was

(14:30):
meant for this better life, because that all feeling was
starting to go away.
Something missing was wasstarting to become clear and as
I kept going it kept becomingeasier and I would crave more.
I discovered my worth.

(14:51):
I became confident.
I kept implementing what I waslearning.
I started embracing meditation,therapeutic art.
I loved my therapeutic artbecause I didn't know I was a
creative.
I never thought I would be acreative, but here I was, doing
poor art, created a beautifuldining room table with my kids,

(15:13):
created paintings that are nowin my home.
And then my favorite, one of myfavorites, because the dining
room table.
That's my absolute favorite.
I already told my kids theycan't even get rid of that table
.
That is now a family heirloom.
But what I really enjoyed wasthe process of learning how to

(15:36):
work with epoxy, the levels anddepth to it.
Then I became real brave anddecided that I wanted to make a
set of rubber tables.
Y'all they're beautiful.
But I love the process becausethe process also reminded me of
my journey to healing One part A, one part B, stirring it like

(15:58):
crazy, making sure it reallymixed and intertwined, and then
sitting up there and pouring itand watching the bubbles form
and having to pop them, takingwhat people would think was an
ugly piece of wood and sandingit down, showing its grooves and
its natural state of beautythat was covered by the

(16:22):
roughness of the traumaticexperiences that it had went
through.
Seeing that it also broughtalong my husband and children
that helped me in this process, and so they weren't only helping
me in the process of theseriver tables, they were the ones
who circled around me in thisprocess of healing as well.

(16:44):
And then putting them alltogether and having to go layer
by layer, popping the bubbleswhere I want popped, mixing the
colors where I wanted colors, watching it harden to the state
of beauty that they're now in.
I embraced a prayer life.
I started studying the Biblemore.

(17:05):
I've built an intimaterelationship with God, and that
took my healing to another level.
I then knew that for lastingchange there needed to be more.
So I learned abouttrauma-informed care.
I started sharing that witheveryone, because this is about
true lasting change,transformation.

(17:28):
I learned more skills likesomatics and positive psychology
and law of attraction.
I began being moreunderstanding.
I was communicating better andI learned to take much needed
breaks.
So the success of becomingunstoppable, becoming

(17:50):
authentically me, becoming who Iam and live with God's grace,
mercy and love.
I began showing up everywhereas my authentic self, proud,
honest and loving myself morethan I ever loved myself before,

(18:10):
being able to really be aperson that can listen, to
understand.
I feel like I was pretty goodwith that before, but this was a
whole nother level.
The power of living an elevatedlife is that I no longer allow

(18:31):
what others think of me stop mefrom living my life.
I learned that some peoplereact to life because of their
own story and it's up to them tomake the changes necessary to
where, instead of them reactingbecause of the barriers that are

(18:55):
in their life, for them toreally begin learning to rewire
their mind, their system, because that's where change is
really going to come from.
So, you see, I live with morepeace than ever before, because
I didn't know peace when I wasliving in the pain, the shame,

(19:17):
the agony, the feeling offeeling off and knowing that
something was missing.
You see, now I live, loving whoI am.
I have skills and tools thatare with me in me to where I can
pull them out for the difficulttimes, when I get sad, I
journal or I create, I check inwith myself, determine the route

(19:42):
and move accordingly.
When I'm overwhelmed, I havetools, resources and a support
system to help me through that.
Meditation is implemented all upand through my life because I
see where it can help me gainthe clarity that I need for that

(20:02):
moment in time, or the energythat I need to help push me
through, or the clarity that Ineed to figure out what's my
next step.
I know to listen to certainsongs, which right now one of my
favorite ones is God Did it.
That song just energized mewhen I don't have no energy and

(20:23):
it's out of appreciation andlove for my journey as well.
It helps release that serotoninand dopamine that I need to
really live my best life.
I'm able to live by example, showing people what it really
means to go from pain to purpose, from living with the barriers,

(20:50):
that trauma implemented in mylife, to really loving life and
living life to the fullest, tobeing and feeling unwanted, to
living a life to where now I'munstoppable, unwanted to living
a life to where now I'munstoppable.
Yes, there's difficult times, but I have tools in my tool bag

(21:11):
to help me through, tools thatwill continue to help me even
when life is lifing.
I now know how to overcomebarriers, discover my
authenticity and unlock mypotential and live an elevated
life, and that is what I teach, that is what I live by, that is

(21:36):
what I want for you.
So, as we wrap this episode, Iwant to acknowledge that feeling
of off or something's missing.
It can be deeply unsettling andI want you to know that you're
not alone and it's okay to seekunderstanding and healing.
I want you to know that yourfeelings are valid.
