Gabrielle has been a figure of calmness, inspiration, and hope for many people. Being diagnosed with cancer at the young age of 19 years old, her journey from "survivor to thriver" saw many evolutions. We discuss being endowed with an unheralded amount of wisdom, experience, and perspective, while not always finding it easy to apply; the loneliness of an invisible disability, particularly when we don't “look the part;” and, discover what happens when the lessons we gain differ from what society says we ought to have learned.
