(00:00):
Welcome to the Why Didn't I Knowpodcast.

(00:02):
This is episode 31, and I'm yourhost, Dr.
Jenny Martin.
We're talking today about, isthe Supernatural Real?
you know the first time that Ireally got this clear sense that

(00:23):
there was this supernaturalworld was back in Ireland when I
was growing up and there was anopen awareness, even though
there was a lot of Catholicfaith going around, there was an
open awareness of psychicability.
In fact, a friend of mine who'sdone her dissertation on Irish

(00:44):
culture, did a dissertation onthis, that there is this sense
of psychic ability in our, in mynative land, in the, amongst the
Irish people, the Celtic people.
And way back when my mom's momhad passed away and she had
passed away in her earlyfifties, and it was really

(01:06):
tragic because she had quite ahard life, just finished,
raising her last kid and thenbam, she's gone.
And it just really bothered mymom.
So, she wanted to go see a verywell known psychic at the time,
but it was very hard to get inand see him.
Cut a long story short, she wasable to go see this guy.

(01:28):
Now this guy was really good.
He had so many people whoverified that he was really spot
on, just really accurate with, bringing up very minute details
from somebody's personalrelationship with the person
that was deceased and sharing itwith them.
And he had this go-between,between, him and the

(01:52):
supernatural world that hecalled Penny.
And so he would call on Penny, and then Penny would go and meet
the deceased person and give himall the details when my mom went
and did this, she was able to,first of all.
She came back.
I wasn't at the session, but Iwas way too young.
It probably would've freaked meout, but, she came back from

(02:13):
that session and there was justa glow.
She was about her, like she wasjust lit up.
There was so many details thathe passed along and he doesn't
interview you ahead of time.
He wasn't asking a bunch ofdetails ahead of time.
But there were so many detailspassed on to my mom that it was

(02:40):
without a doubt that this wasan, actual real communication.
And, here was this woman who hada really tough life, but she was
telling my mom in her, quaintIrish way.
If, you knew what it was likeover here, you'd pack your
suitcases and come, just pointinthe way she talked.

(03:00):
Now thankfully my mom didn'tdecide to check out right then
'cause I needed a mom.
But, she just.
All her worry and concern that,oh, my mom never got to live a
life and this is awful.
It's so tragic.
That went out the window.
When she came back, she waslike, wow, yeah, there's
something to this.
She's having a continuedexistence.

(03:21):
That was the deal.
It wasn't that she was justtalking about all these past
memories And so after thathappened, it didn't feel strange
to me.
I had had experiences alreadyprior to that where I was
walking out in Glenda Lock, verybeautiful, lush place in
Ireland, and I had felt likethere were little beings, I

(03:47):
learned the word elemental a lotlater.
I didn't know that word backthen, but I guess I would call
them elementals.
I call them fairies.
I call them little angels, and Icould see them pop through the
forest and.
If I was having a normalconversation with someone in my
family, that would not happen.
It would have to be when I wasin this kind of daydreamy space.

(04:11):
Lost in the woods on my own.
But you know what?
As a grown woman, that happenedagain when I was in.
France.
I was on a Mary Magdalene tripand I was in the deep forest
actually.
There's a place called Merlin'sForest of all things and it has

(04:32):
this really old tree that is onits side and it looks like a
harp, but it's made out of atree.
And nobody carved it that way.
Nobody made it that way.
It just looks like that.
And it's been sitting there fora long time.
The people that lived there thatwe went with, they were showing
a group of us this tree, but Iwandered off and the green

(04:57):
there.
Was just so radiant.
It just sparkled in a way thatseemed almost like virtual
reality.
It was just absolutely amazing.
And, we're in a place where Ilive in a city now, and if I go
to the park, you hear traffic, traffic is still not too far
away, but.

(05:19):
There we're so far away fromwhere anyone lives or from any
other town or anything that thesilence and the quiet and the
calm was just takes you over andI found myself wandering into
this one area in the forestwhere there's just trees and

(05:41):
they were covered in moss andthey just seemed so peaceful
and.
I, even though I was a grownperson by this time, I just felt
drawn by my heart, not my head,to go and to embrace this tree.
And I swear to God, like I'mdoing no drugs, no nothing.

(06:05):
Totally sober.
And I am on a psychedelic triplike I am in another world with
this tree.
We're having like a two-waycommunication.
They're just, they're loving,like they're loving beings and
I'm loving it and it's loving meand we're just in this dance of

(06:27):
vibration.
It was so.
Frigging amazing and I had zeroawareness that, okay, I'm a
visitor to France right now.
I, at that time I lived in theUnited States.
I had no bearing about.
Why I'd come to France what myregular identity was, all of

(06:49):
that was out the window, and Iwas just this pure essence with
these pure beings.
And I've since talked with somepeople about that, and they're
telling me about the concept ofvortexes and the fact that.
Which I had heard before and Iaccepted'cause I lived in

(07:10):
Arizona for a while and everyonetalked about going to Sedona for
the vortexes.
Well, I went to Sedona a numberof times.
I never felt any vortexes there.
But in this place in Francewhere nobody told me to expect
that, here I was in thiscomplete state of other
worldliness and there wasdefinitely this quality of the

(07:33):
supernatural.
Now.
I didn't contact any beingsthere.
I just contacted the trees.
But after those experiences, Ijust am convinced that there is
this other world, now that I'vereclaimed some of my Irish
heritage.
That I didn't get from growingup necessarily.

(07:55):
Most of my relatives are verystill in the Catholic vibe and
they had lost a lot of thebeautiful heritage of
supernatural awareness thatpeople living in that region of
the world have.
But now that I have, looked backon that, I've realized that
there was this awareness of theveil thinning in my.

(08:18):
Native heritage in my, Irishculture at certain points on the
land you could contact otherworldly presences and on
subsequent visits back toIreland.
I've been to like the Hill ofTara, which is as old as
Stonehenge, but no one talksabout the Hill of Tara.

(08:39):
And it is a sacred site that isvery much tells us that
sexuality was part of theirsacred, rituals.
Now, I hadn't planned on talkingabout this on this episode, but
you walk down this long, canal, which is like a vaginal canal to

(08:59):
this open area.
It's like a womb.
This is underground.
And at the perfect time withequinox, the sun comes through
that particular, angle, and itlights up this inner canal.
And what's believed to havehappened is they actually did
the rituals there.

(09:21):
So there's this.
Beautiful awareness of thesupernatural.
We're not just physical beings.
I mean, how can we.
Tap into this awareness by goingto these different places where
this concentrated energy is,like I mentioned in France and
Sedona.
How can we do that if we're justa physical being?

(09:42):
Well, we're not just physicaland unfortunately this science
has been kept from us.
We don't learn about this incollege, but it's known and.
In my courses, I talk about thework of Dr.
Claude Swanson, who worked forthe Central Intelligence Agency
and this science is very muchknown, but we're not told about

(10:05):
this.
And so we think that we're justa physical being, but being just
physical does not explain howpeople, like in my native
country in Ireland, could seebehind the veil at some point in
American culture that was seenas, you better go to a

(10:25):
psychiatrist if you're talkinglike that, and in fact, we still
treat people like that today.
People that have.
A psychedelic experience thatdoesn't stop.
So what I mean is, they do apsychedelic and they come back
from their trip, but they'restill having bleed through
experiences, so they're stillhaving.

(10:48):
A flash of a larger reality, they're still feeling sometimes
like they're floatingunfortunately people will go to
a Western doctor and talk aboutthat this is happening and talk
about that.
It started with the psychedelicbecause Western medicine denies.
That the supernatural world isreal and that we're anything

(11:09):
more than a material being, unfortunately, they get put on
psychiatric medicine and thatends up, making them a zombie
basically.
And it doesn't have to be likethat.
We need to learn, it'simperative as these energies are
coming more into the earth.
And that's one of the thingsthat Dr.

(11:30):
Swanson, unfortunately, hepassed away.
A few years ago, but he hadreally wanted to spread the
information that there is aconsciousness shift going on in
the planet where thissupernatural world is going to
bleed into this physical world.
More and more and more peopleare gonna open up to this

(11:52):
ability now.
He was wanting to go around andspread this news to tell people
that, you need to spirituallyprepare for this and that's the
thing.
Can we be in the world but notof the world?
We are going through aconsciousness shift, not just

(12:13):
personally, but collectively andsometimes it's darkest before
the dawn.
But that doesn't mean it has tobe a bad experience for us.
We get to choose our ownadventure and we can't control
what happens to us to someextent, but we definitely can
control.
How resilient we are.

(12:34):
And I'm not talking aboutdigging your heels in and saying
affirmations.
I'm talking about being tetheredto a higher reality, being
tethered to A reality that youare first a spiritual being and
then physical being.
And I know those words getthrown around a lot, but over

(12:55):
time, I believe that theseconcepts are gonna be more
integrated into our life andhopefully into our college
classrooms as well, because wereally need to be equipped with
this understanding of thissupernatural aspect of
ourselves.
Supernatural aspect of the worldso that we can navigate this,

(13:19):
and so we can also steward ourconsciousness.
I was listening to a podcastrecently with Aubrey Marcus and
with, Andrew Galler, and theywere talking about this very
thing that, we.
Really need to acknowledgeduring psychedelic experiences,
people are having theseencounters and they're not
physical, they're not, it's notjust in their brain, it's

(13:42):
actually on another, dimension.
And let's face it, they weretalking about some of these
entities you can encounter don'twant you to thrive, like
actually want to harm you.
And, there can be an aftereffect from that where you can't
necessarily sort out whethersomething is your own thought or

(14:04):
the thought is actually comingfrom beyond you.
Now, that can sound justdownright crazy if you haven't
really navigated these otherdimensions.
But I've worked with people whohave done psychedelics and they
didn't believe a supernaturalworld was real.
But then something started tochange in their life, sometimes

(14:26):
for the better, sometimes forthe worse.
And part of me helping them wasto actually sort out, okay, was
this thought from you or wasthis thought from some other
realm?
And it's not a helpful thought.
And so we have to, choosedifferently.
And when someone starts havingthat kind of intrusive thinking

(14:49):
right after psychedelics, wereally need to do people a
service and not just look at itfrom a normal psychotherapy
model that it's their ownintrusive thinking.
I've had people that have triedto just hash this out with a
normal psychotherapy.
Model and thinking about it'stheir inner parts and it drives

(15:10):
them frigging crazy.
They never get resolution.
And then I've worked with them.
And because I don't think it'sweird and I don't think you're
crazy, if there is a sense thatyou can either see other
entities or you can hear them, some people are very shy about
and very worried about telling aprofessional that this is

(15:34):
happening to them because theydon't wanna get locked up.
But, I know that exists.
And I don't see the person as apossessed person or anything
like that, but in order for youto get back your spiritual
sovereignty, you gotta know whatyou're dealing with.
Is that intrusive thought fromyourself or is it from somewhere
else?
And so I've successfully helpedpeople to work through that and

(15:57):
to actually gain back theirsovereignty.
And it's like going from anextremely stressful time in your
life where you.
Just are feeling like you're notable to cope to being able to
turn that all around.
And it is possible, but if wedon't have the framework that

(16:18):
there's supernatural aspect tothis, and let me clarify, not
everything can be seen by thesupernatural lens.
Sometimes it's just your ownstuff, and that's great and you
still need to work through it,but it's not always that.
And as Dr.
Swanson talked about.
The veil is getting thinner.
For us living on this planet, the ability for other realms to

(16:44):
influence us is getting, easierNow, that can be super
beneficial when it comes tobeings that you connect with
that want the best for us, andthere's certainly.
Those beings out there, makes methink of a woman who's from
Ireland, her name's Lorna, Brianshe came from a very poor

(17:07):
family.
She was dyslexic and theydecided not to put her through
school.
They decided to just keep her athome.
And, so she never got aneducation and so she was alone a
lot.
And what she did was she justnaturally, intuitively as a
child, developed a very strongrelationship with angels and.

(17:31):
She was able to see them fromearly on and they became her
lifeline.
And she felt a real strong nudgefrom the other side to write her
experiences, to share withpeople that angels aren't weird.
And, we can contact them andthat everyone has a guardian

(17:52):
angel and so forth.
She.
Got a book deal and her bookshave now been out for, years and
years.
Angel in My Hair was her firstbook and she's written many
other books.
And what is interesting to mefrom more of a sciencey
perspective is we have dimethyltryptamine, which is a

(18:13):
neurotransmitter, which is thespirit molecule.
And we have that inside ourbrain.
And when DMT is taken as aexternal substance, it gives us
the sense that we can talk withentities.
It gives us that ability, butit's also inside of us.

(18:33):
When you are a kid and you cantake, for instance, a cardboard
box, and all of a sudden thatcardboard box is no longer a
cardboard box, you see it as apirate ship.
Kids can use their imaginationsto create something out of
nothing all the time, andthey're convinced of it, I've
talked to some researchers thathypothesize that the DMT levels

(18:54):
inside of us are higher whenwe're quite young.
Now, that reduces, for variousreasons, but one could say that
as we start to develop ouranalytical functioning and go
through the educational system.
We switched to another mode inour brain and that, imaginative

(19:16):
self takes a back seat.
This makes me think about thiswoman who wrote the book Angels
in My Hair, that she didn't gothrough any formal education
and, she actually had to.
Speak her book into, an audiosoftware and someone else had to
type it.
'cause she still, to this dayshe's in her or seventies, but

(19:36):
still to this day, she does notknow how to read, and she does
not know how to write.
And so she's not processinganalytically in the same way,
people who've gone through theeducational system have.
It seems to me that she neverlost this ability that young
children have to see into theother realm.
That possibility exists withinall of us.

(19:56):
It's interesting, whenever I'vewatched her speak, she has said,
I'm not wondering why I havedisability.
I feel like it's totallynatural.
I'm just wondering why youdon't, and she's talking to the
audiences who think it's just, bizarre or magical that she can
talk to these angels and she'ssaying, why don't you?
It makes sense why the averageperson, especially in Western

(20:18):
culture just really focused onthe here and now, trying to,
make things happen, accomplishthings, go through a very linear
educational process.
All of this is training us outof that intuitive natural
contact with nature, contactwith the land, contact, with an

(20:40):
intuitive sense that knows thesethings, that knows that there is
this.
Benevolent spirit, that there'sthis supernatural realm that's
there and that wants to help us.
And there's lots more I can sayon this because one of the
things that's really importantfor us to understand when it

(21:00):
comes to the topic of sacredsexuality is if we don't
understand that there's asupernatural realm, we'll never
be able to fully realize our.
Sexual potential in terms oftranscendence, in terms of
merging with the mystical, because we'll always only see
our partner and ourselves asjust these physical beings but

(21:24):
that's all for another episode.
And I'll just let you know thatI'll be uploading more
frequently and alsointerspersing some chats with
other people on this podcast aswell.
So it won't just be me talking.
It'll also be in conversation, with some other people that I

(21:46):
believe you'll find interesting.
So, thanks so much for joiningme.
