Jim Fleetwood served a mission in Taiwan. After his mission, he attended BYU. He and Lisa were assigned to each other on the international ballroom dance team. After he graduated, he worked as a title search officer and a loan closing officer for six years. Then decided to go to law school. After graduating from Washburn, he took a job at Koch Industries in environmental compliance and litigation. After working about six years, he opened his own practice. Five years later, he was invited to run for district court judge. He served as a judge for 23 years, the last 11 years as the chief judge.
He is now fully retired. He has served in the church as a bishop twice, as a counselor in the stake presidency, a seminary teacher, adult Sunday School teacher, elders quorum president, and is currently our stake patriarch.
