On August 15, 1994, at 11:15pm 911 dispatchers in Salt Lake City, Utah received numerous phone calls from a cozy, middle class neighborhood. Several people reported hearing a terrible screaming, howling sounds as if someone was being tortured. When police arrived in the neighborhood several minutes later, they were able to follow the awful sound into the backyard of one of the houses lining the street. When they arrived, they found several brave neighbors with flashlights and a hysterical man standing in a koi pond, screaming and throwing heavy rocks and bricks into the water. The neighbors had clearly been trying to comfort the man for some time, but he was absolutely inconsolable. As the police got closer, they also noticed the body of a woman, lying on the ground near the pond. Neighbors at the scene told police that the woman on the ground was 29-year-old Pamela Mead, and the hysterical man in the pond was her 30-year-old husband, David Mead.

Join me on this podcast as I navigate the murky waters of human behavior, current events, and personal anecdotes through in-depth interviews with incredible people—all served with a generous helping of sarcasm and satire. After years as a forensic and clinical psychologist, I offer a unique interview style and a low tolerance for bullshit, quickly steering conversations toward depth and darkness. I honor the seriousness while also appreciating wit. I’m your guide through the twisted labyrinth of the human psyche, armed with dark humor and biting wit.
